About $20 billion worth of American goods are now subject to Canadian terrorists.
They went into effect this morning as promised by Canada's Prime Minister in response to levies imposed by President Trump on Canadian products. We have more from Dan Carpenter. Nearly 700 American products are now subject to Canadian tariffs ranging from 15 to 50 percent. The targeted measures will include commodities like steel and aluminum, household items such as appliances, electronics, perfume and makeup, as well as dairy and plywood.
Ottawa had threatened the countermeasures after President Trump slapped new 50 percent
“tariffs on Canadian goods nearly three weeks ago. Trump has threatened to retaliate again.”
And Trump has set his sights on the Montreal-based plane-maker Bombardier, saying they would no longer be allowed to sell in the U.S. unless they manufactured there. Bombardier employs about 3,000 Americans, as factories in Kansas and Texas, and maintain service facilities in multiple states.

Smoking tobacco is the leading preventable cause of death worldwide, largely because of all the harmful chemicals in smoke. That smoke can also harm non-smokers who just happen to breathe it in. Scientists have studied this harm for decades, but haven't had a clear sense of the global impact of secondhand smoke.
So a team analyzed data on exposure and health consequences from over 200 countries and territories over the past few decades.
They found nearly 3 billion people were exposed to secondhand smoke in 2023.
About a quarter of those were children under 15 who are especially vulnerable. Researchers estimate about 1.6 million deaths were attributable to that exposure nearly 3% of all deaths that year.
