Hammondy says one part of the investigation into Sunday's deadly crash of a cargo plane

>> The NTSB says the plane's flight recorders have been recovered and that investigators are focusing on whether the plane touched down too late to stop safely, if I people were killed. A privacy group has filed the latest lawsuit challenging the Trump administration's efforts to compile lists of adult U.S. citizens in each state.
MPR's Hansi Lobong reports on the effort that stems from a key part of an order by President Trump that a federal judge found to be likely unconstitutional. >> Harder President Trump's order that's attempting to restrict mail-in voting calls for U.S. citizenship and immigration services and the Social Security Administration to compile lists of people who the federal government decides are adult U.S. citizens eligible to vote
in each state. Those lists were supposed to be available to state officials by September 4th, according to court filings in two lawsuits led by the Electronic Privacy Information Center and Democratic groups, the Trump administration has pushed back that deadline indefinitely. A federal judge had blocked this project in June after finding the federal agencies have
no authority to maintain voter lists or control federal elections, which the Constitution says are left to the states and Congress. The last month the Supreme Court paused that judge's ruling after finding it was too early for courts to weigh in. On Zee LaWong and Fjarnese.
Because in Trump warning that he may prohibit Canadian jet manufacturer bombardier from selling in the U.S. unless the company builds its jets in the U.S. he posted to social media Monday as Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs. The Ebola outbreak still spreading across the Democratic Republic of Congo, but there are signs of improvement in some areas as impures Jonathan Lambert reports.

The mining town in Northeastern DRC soon became overwhelmed. But in recent weeks, cases have been on the decline there. Balakonday, a public health specialist with IFRC, credits that in part to engaging the community in the response. When he first came to Mangualu, people were distrustful.

“But health officials started engaging with key community members, like priests and taxi drivers,”
to get the message out that Ebola is serious. Over time, he says those efforts resulted in more people seeking treatment or isolating if they were sick. Elsewhere though, the virus is still out of control. Jonathan Lambert and PR news.

Devastating tourism and boating industries. The fish have edged ever closer to Lake Michigan and after some delays, President Trump sent federal funding to help create a barrier at a choke point in Illinois. But Trump issued an unexplained work stoppage order in late July. He has had a contentious relationship with Democratic Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
But the barrier work is reportedly resuming after a call to Trump from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat who was also a critic of the president during the pandemic, but has since had a more cordial relationship.
