The convention is centered around President Trump and his policies, so much so that he's headlining the program both nights. There are questions about how many Republican candidates will actually attend, especially those in tight races trying to get some distance from an unpopular president. But Alex Triantofilu, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, says he isn't worried.
"From the very beginning, we were told that we could use this as an opportunity to rally the troops in the race and money for the party, and those two things have certainly happened." A Democratic Party spokesman is predicting what he calls the worst infomercial in the history

Defense minister Israel Katz says that if it's determined that a large-scale attack on military and Jewish settlements is about to happen, troops have been instructed to "launch an all-out campaign." That would include targeted killings of senior Palestinian authority figures, and evacuating
and occupying security zones, Katz says, as was done in Gaza. Israel's military says in Israeli farmer was stabbed in the West Bank by a Palestinian assailant who was then tracked down and killed. Separately, a Palestinian university student was killed overnight by Israeli settlers, according to the head of the local village council. The U.S. ambassador to Israel has decried the rise in Israeli settler violence against Palestinians as "terrorism."

A new study from Pew Research finds more than four in 10 Americans, say that Muslims are having a negative effect on the U.S. And PR's Jason D. Rose reports, the study examines data collected over the past 25 years, since the September 11th, terror attacks. Pew Research finds that views on Islam are now more negative and more partisan than shortly after 9/11. In 2026, just over half of those surveys said Islam is more likely
than other religions to encourage violence. In 2002, that number was just 25%. More than three-quarters of Republicans this year, say the religion promotes violence, whereas fewer
than one-third, believe that was the case shortly after 9/11. Pew also found that about
six in 10 American Muslims say there's a lot of discrimination against their communities while just over a third, say someone has expressed support for them in the past year, because of their religion.
