Court decision that requires election officials to revert to a democratic-leaning redistricting map from 2022. But minutes later, a district court judge said election officials had to use a newer Republican back map created as a result of President Trump's redistricting efforts. That decision was immediately appealed.

They've chosen former Republican Senator Johnson-Dunu and Democratic Congressman Chris Papas to square off this fall for the seat being vacated by the retiring comment-democrat change. The Food and Drug Administration, filling some leadership vacancies, also creating a new position as MPR has Sydney Lupkin reports.
>> The FDA has appointed Dr. Michael Davis to lead its center for drug evaluation and research. Davis started at the FDA in 2016, but left in 2022 to be the chief medical officer of a non-profit developing psychedelic drugs for medical use.

To lead the office that regulates biologics vaccines, blood products, and gene therapies, the agency appointed a former senior advisor to then commissioner Dr. Marty McCary. The FDA also appointed a longtime employee to direct the center for tobacco products.
Finally, the agency created a new position, deputy commissioner, for technology and artificial

Speaking at a defense forum in Taiwan, the U.S. has topped diplomat in Taiwan, said that the upcoming U.S. China summit is a chance to prevent misunderstandings, and he warned that conflict on the Taiwan straight could be disastrous for the world economy. From the Philippines, Yannikavism Brunby has more. >> A conflict between China and Taiwan could have a worse impact on the world's economy than
the second world war, says Raymond Green Washington's de facto U.S. ambassador in Taiwan. The comments come as Chinese presidents, Xi Jinping, is set to meet with President Trump in the U.S. later this month. And meeting the Green says is an opportunity to avoid misunderstandings between the two nations. China claims Taiwan as its own, and vows to take control of the island.
The U.S. meanwhile does not diplomatically recognise Taipei, but supplies the island with weapons. Speaking in Taipei, diplomat Green added that the U.S. has made preserving regional peace, a priority, and is, quote, "supporting Taiwan's work to enhance its ability to defend itself."
