This isn't "I Heart Pat-Cast.

Guaranteed human.

I'm Lori Siegel, and on my new podcast, Mostly Human,

I'll take you to some wild corners of the tech world. I'm about to go on a date with an AI companion at a real world cafe right here near a city. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.

Mostly human is your playbook for how tech can work for you. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur, anyone can build an app, and it's very empowering. Listen, Mostly Human, on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows.

Somebody tell me that, a shocking, public murder. This is one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City politics. A screen good down, good down, blows a shot. A tragedy that's now forgotten, and a mystery

that may have been not a bit political, that may have been about sex. Listen to Worshack, Murder and City Hall, on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

In 2023, Bachelor Star Clayton Eckard was accused of bothering twins, but the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax.

You doctor this particular test twice in selling, correct?

I doctor the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men, who'd been through the same thing. Like a lesbian, I could imagine it.

My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is LoveTrap. Laura, Scott State Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens

finally faces consequences.

Listen to LoveTrap podcast on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than no grip. A new podcast tackling the culture

of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1, including the story of the woman who last participated in a Formula One race weekend, the recent uptick in F1 romance novels,

and plenty of mishab scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

[MUSIC PLAYING] If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Blagrant and Funny. You want to start with the first question

from the big kid coach of the year?

Oh, what do you want to do?

Did you like it? Did you like it?

So you're a Spartan, is that what I'm talking about?

Did you think? So whether you're a bracket is busted, or you just want the real talk on what's happening during the tournament, open your free I Heart Radio app, search Flagrant and Funny with Carrie Champion and Jamel Hill, and listen now.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of I Heart Women's Sports. You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. You would think after yesterday's devastating news that everybody would pitch in and say,

we'll get him next year. I walked by Fritzzy goes, I'm not feeling it today. And I go, no, that's not the attitude. Come on. I wait till we're nominated, then I'll get back to Twitter.

But you said you're nervous, you're not feeling it today. And I've got March madness coming up. We got more baseball today. There's a lot of things going on. Come on.

Come on. Nothing to do with any of the things you just said. Do you want to tap out? Never. OK.

All right. I need all hands on deck. We are. We're ready to roll. Big show today.

Yeah, Paul.

Could this be like a pitcher who doesn't have a great bull pen session

before the game, but then throws a no hitter? It happened sometimes. It does, and Paul schemes is pitching today on NBC against the meds. Yes, Marvin.

Can you not see that term anymore? All hands on deck. Try and be funny. Oh, man, where's the sensitivity police? So they come in today?

You have hands. Yes. You're not harmless. Yeah. I mean, I guess.

All right. So Todd is here kind of a seat and seeer, Marvin, and Paul years truly, and the back room guys as well. We're ready to go. It's hour one on this Thursday.

Will dive into the, I guess it's now a controversy or at least a strong take by Dan Orlovsky with Tysonson as the best quarterback in the draft. Chase Daniel, former quarterback. Will join us coming up momentarily.

And I know that he's looked at film on both of these quarterbacks. We'll get his honest opinion. Mac McClung is going to join us. He's now the all-time leading score

in the history of the G League. How do you celebrate that? It'd be like the all-time home run leader in the minor leagues. He's crashed Davis. And we'll talk to him.

I mean, he said two games over 54 and 59 points and still kind of waiting to find his spot somewhere

On an NBA roster.

Yes, Todd.

Even if he tried to brag about it, the first thing

anyone would say was a G League though. Yeah, that wasn't NBA, right? That was the G League. Yes, Paul. Obviously at Mac McClung's basketball reference,

he's played for five different NBA teams. He's played a total of 10 games in five years. When you watch the NBA, it feels like there could be a spot for a guy who could score off the bench. But I want to know what he's been told.

Right. Like, why aren't you on a roster? Why can't you stay on a roster? Now, I've been told certain things, but I want him to tell us why he can't stick with the team

in the NBA. Danny Hurley now down Hurley on his best behavior in March madness, he will join us coming up in the final hour of the program. So, sweet 16 tonight, you got Texas Purdue.

I went to Brasca, Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, and Houston. I love it. Baseball last night, the Yankees over the Giants 7. Nothing.

I think most people will focus on Aaron Judge going over five

with four strikeouts. Full slate of baseball today in tonight.

Speaking of the sweet 16, I always look at the points

spreads as we get ready for the games to start. We'll kind of move them in the betting lines. Houston is now a two and a half point favorite against Illinois. They were three and a half yesterday.

I was state was a four and a half point underdog against Tennessee, a favorite. Now they're three and a half point favorite against Tennessee. So those are the only two betting lines that have changed Purdue by seven and a half.

Nebraska by one and a half Arizona, seven and a half against Arkansas, Duke by six and a half against St. Johns and then UConn, one and a half point favorite against Michigan State. Now you can't help but look ahead.

If Connecticut would win and St. Johns would win and then they would get another rematch in that rivalry. Now you're not supposed to look ahead, especially when St. Johns is a six and a half point underdog and UConn is only a one and a half point

favorite against Michigan State. That won't stop us from looking ahead. But Danny Hurley, I'm sure and Rick Patino are not looking ahead.

Stat of the day is always brought to you by Panini America,

the official trading cards of the program. We say good morning, those watching on peacock. That's our streaming partner, also the NBC Sports Network. First hour brought to you by the folks who've been doing it for over 40 years now.

That's tire rack helping you get the right tires for how and what and where you drive. Ship fast and free, back by free, road hazard protection, convenient installation options. Like mobile tire installation, tire rack.com,

the way tire buying should be. Have a poll question, play of the day, stat of the day, all of that coming up. Operator Tyler sitting by, he'll take your phone calls today. 8773DP show.

You know, I was thinking about this watching the game last night. Then look, it's easy to criticize Netflix for trying too hard and they did try too hard last night. But when you have bells and whistles, you want to showcase that.

You want to wow the audience.

It's, you know, first day night football didn't start out

well, the sound quality was terrible. Now we just kind of accept it.

But that's what happens when it's something new.

We have to go out of our way to watch it on Netflix. So you're going in already with an attitude of, okay, it was just too much Netflix. It was as if I was tuning into a kind of a power point on Netflix that there was a baseball game inside of that.

Like look at all the things that we do. And you're trying to go, I'm kind of here to watch the baseball game. Well, Netflix wants to sell you on Netflix. But this happens on the mothership or NBC or Fox

or CBS, you know, member of the world series where you say, hey, party of five happened to be here at the Yankee game. And there's the cast of Dawson's creaker, whatever. Malcolm in the middle, sat in happens to be here.

I think, okay, it happens product placement. And I thought El Duncan did a great job hosting. Kind of strange to hear Barry Bonds say anything. He did say, I, I was a good teammate. But I took all those walks for my teammate.

As soon as he said it, I spit out my beer and go, hold on. This is the guy who told me years ago. I don't tell my teammates any information because they could be the opponent of following year. That's not a great teammate here, Barry.

And you told me that because I said, you know, do you give information to players about hitting their pitchers and he goes, no, next year they could be my opponent. Like, okay, so he said he was a good teammate last night.

Matt Vaschershin does, you know, always good quality baseball.

Gives a big feel to it.

But, you know, you're watching bells and whistles.

I hate the in-game talk to the manager.

Especially when we missed the first ever challenge for ADS.

That didn't help it. I'm like, okay, here we go. Wait, what just happened? I mean, okay, I got to see somebody tap their helmet or I missed seeing somebody tap their.

It was the first one. And get that moment back. Never. Yes, Todd. And you know, who also hates the in-game coacher manager

interviews the coacher manager, just like in half time and pre-game and post game of any game. I'm sure the reporter hates it too because you're like, hey, skip, come here, come here. No, no, we gotta do, no.

We'll come out of commercial break and then I got two questions for you, okay, all right, okay. All right, I'm back here and then Giants dug out.

Yeah, okay, yeah, pulling.

I thought the star last night might have been the Giants ballpark.

They, it was like a showcase of what a beautiful place

and location, and it's becoming like an antique, a classic. Okay, with a car, is it 20 years that makes your car an antique? Yes, correct. It is 20.

By the DMV, yes. Okay, so that's a classic ballpark now. And it was, the sun was going down. It's a beautiful place to watch again. There's a lot of different ball parks

and when you go, like Dodger Stadium, like an afternoon, that sunshine afternoon, everything is just gorgeous. The Giants location, you wanna talk about, okay, the stadium, product placement, they nailed it, they did.

Now, I'm not as big on that right field wall. Like I, I would like for it to be a little more friendly. I mean, that's a big wall out there. And it felt like Bonds was the only guy who was hitting it into McCubby Cove.

But still, it's a beautiful ballpark. The vistas there, and there's a few of those, obviously.

I mean, regularly you still go in and it's magic

because most of these stadiums because become antiquated, Fenway. So I'm going into a neighborhood, a regularly feel. I'm going into a neighborhood in Boston. And you get that feel of your walking from your hotel

or a restaurant and you go to a ballpark. And I love that. San Francisco, same way, you can stay at your hotel, you can walk, you could go get something neat, you could go into the ballpark.

- Yeah, Satan. - Exactly what it's supposed to be. It's exactly how it's supposed to be laid out. We saw a day baseball game, the Giants Stadium years ago. Barry Zito pitched that day.

And we were like right behind home late and he's watching his curveball drop, like that was one of the craziest things I'd ever seen. I hear a lot of good things when you look at lists of best ball parks in the country.

I see Petco at the top, near the top of a lot of those.

In San Diego, I've never been there.

I'd really like to see a baseball game there, but I see that as top five, almost all the time. - Yeah, I didn't like it. It was too sunny. Can the weather just be kind of crappy?

Why is it so nice? - I think I went to the ballpark. And I didn't think they took advantage of the water. Like you go to Oracle, you get to see, I mean, it's beautiful.

But San Diego, I was like, okay, Pittsburgh to me is a better stadium as far as walking to the ballpark. Go across the bridge and the view back to the bridge in the city.

Pittsburgh is one of my favorites. I think it's well done. And we'll see it on display later on this afternoon. And Paul's scheme just goes up against the match. Yes, Todd, can we go to a pirate's game

at the NFL draft? - Okay, I said to Paul, if we get in there on Tuesday, there has to be a pirate's afternoon game before the draft starts on Thursday night. Paul goes, the pirates aren't home during the NFL draft.

- I didn't want to bum you guys out. I looked this up a month ago. I was gonna see if we could all go on Tuesday, sit there, get sunburn, check out the pirates, maybe schemes on the mound.

They have 18 home games in April, none of them are the week we're there. - This has to be by design, by the NFL? - Or the pirate's schedule had to be decided after the NFL gave Pittsburgh the draft guess.

We're gonna check with the pirates because they're at the Rangers and then at the Brewers, but everywhere around it, they're home. - Oh, that would have been great for an afternoon game. Imagine a Thursday afternoon game

and I know the draft's in town so you'd have to have Friday, Saturday, Sunday. But if you could do a Thursday game after noon game and then roll that right into the draft,

Everybody's down town, yes, Todd.

- I mean, that's how powerful the NFL is.

They can just call majorly this one the pirates,

just to let you know, it will be no pirates home games while we're in town with the draft. - Yeah, well another day. - Let's check on that. - And I'd like to check on that.

- See, who's calling this? - Yes, Paul. - What if we just go to the PNC Park, the Pirates Ball Park, grab some beers, sit there and watch the road game on the jumbo trot?

It's a different experience, but I'm up for it. - How about we just get together and maybe you know, have some infield practice, maybe some VP? - Yeah.

- That'd be nice. - No batting practice. - Yeah. - Yeah, I'm gonna do it. - I'll make some pack, yeah.

- How about we do that? - Heck yeah. - Run around the bases? - Oh. - Yes, Todd.

- We could bring out Wiffleball equipment from the back.

We're always playing here.

We could just bring it over. - Well, you don't. - Because I had that injury. - Yeah, I just wanted to. - You got hurt, hurt my elbow.

- Are you retired from Wiffleball? - I'm not retired from Wiffleball, but I came close to Tommy John Surge, because I just wanted a little too high with the thin dad and the airless ball

and I was trying to hit. I got a little too excited.

The next thing I know, like my arm and shoulder

had like numb tingling sensations. - What is that sandwich shop? Is it Jimmy John's or something? What is that? What is it Pauli?

- Jimmy John's. - Yeah, that's the only surgery you've ever had. - Yeah. - hurt yourself. - Let Tommy John's.

- Jimmy John's. - Yeah, you had Jimmy John's surgery.

- It didn't end with failure.

(laughing) - I do like my John and Jersey Mike's up, though I don't shop pretty happy. (laughing) - Uh, and for the Jimmy John's, huh?

- Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep. - That's gonna cost you a career. - Not anymore, not these days. - Double meat, that, double meat. - Uh, give me a sample of a poll question,

and then we'll take a break. Chase Daniel will help us understand the rising love affair with Ty Simpson. What do you have to eat? - Well, why don't we start with a simple one.

The NFL season opener on a Wednesday night. Love it, hate it, or don't really carry the way. But this isn't in Australia. So that one is gonna be in Seattle. So Seattle, you win the Super Bowl,

you get to host the first game of the season.

And it opens on a Wednesday night. Thursday is the Niners Rams in Australia. Correct 'em, under. - Correct 'em, under. - Okay, I got a little bit more on this coming up.

But we'll take a break. By the way, if you're watching on peacock or NBC Sports Network, what you're going to see during the commercial breaks is the Sports Emmy Real that Mario put together

that we didn't get nominated for. But he wants you to see the different segments that he put on the Emmy Real that apparently the voting committee didn't think much of.

So you can judge yourself as well. I think this is Mario's way of saying, hey, don't blame me, blame us. I got that feeling today. - It could try, but that's not gonna work.

- No, it's not. I appreciate the effort, but it's not gonna work. - And by the way, he's moved on. You know, him and Anthony were so excited 'cause the metzer playing today.

We got through little T-shirts on. Like probably gonna be watching, or, you know, this afternoon with all their friends here, it's gonna be cute. - It'll be real.

- It'll be a little like a school day. - Yeah, it's gonna be like, okay, today's the day, your favorite team's jersey. - Yeah. - Yeah. (laughs)

- Garen C to be disappointed later on this year. Metz fans. - All right, take a break. Chase Daniel will join us coming up right after this. (air whooshing)

- Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick Show. Weekdays at 9 a.m. Eastern 6 a.m. Pacific. - On Fox Sports Radio and the I-Hart Radio app. - Pauli, who's going here with Tony, who's going? - Yeah, as everybody knows,

we're the host of the award-winning, Pauli and Tony, who's going on. - Yeah. - But instead of us telling you how great we are, he is our Dan Patrick described us

when he came on our show. - Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated. - Volvo, Volvo. - What are you doing? - We're interrupting our promo.

- Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. - You took those clips totally out of context. - Oh yeah, well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you out and beat you. Let me put this into context.

Shut up. - Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Pauli and Tony Fusco show on I-Hart Radio, Apple Podcasts. - Oh, Reva, you get your podcasts. - Yeah.

(air whooshing) (air whooshing) (air whooshing) - Radio-all building, a silver 40 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.

- From I-Hart Podcasts and best case studios. This is Worshack, murder at City Hall. - Could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. - July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis

arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons and in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead. (air whooshing) (air whooshing)

- Everybody in the chambers of dogs,

A shocking public murder.

- A scream, get down, get down.

Those are shots, those are shots, get down.

- A charismatic politician. - You know, he just bent the rules all the time. I still have a weapon. - And I could shoot you. - And an outsider with a secret.

- He alleged he was effective flat down. - That may have not been political, that may have been about six. - Listen to Worshack, murder at City Hall on the I-Hart Radio App, Apple Podcasts,

or wherever you could get your podcasts. - I'm Lori Seagull, a longtime tech journalist, and consider my new podcast mostly human, your bridge to the future. - Anyone can now be an entrepreneur,

anyone can build an app, and it's very empowering. - Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future, and we're gonna break down what all of this innovation actually means for you. - What I come to realize is that

when people think the day of dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. - We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be messy.

- There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. - But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment. Mostly human, we'll show you how.

My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit. - The reason I say agency is because, like, if you can give power back to people,

then I think that's probably the best thing

we can do for your mental health. - Listen to mostly human on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. - In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckard, found himself at the center of a paternity scandal.

- The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. - You doctor this particular task twice in silence, correct? - I doctor the test once.

- It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. - I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. - Some like the greatest disinfectant. - They would uncover a disturbing pattern.

- Two more men who'd been through the same thing. - Greg Olespie and I could mention it. - My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is LoveTrap.

- Laura, Scott Stelpoise. - As the season continues,

Laura Owens finally faces consequences.

- Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at America for County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. - This isn't over until justice has served in Arizona. - Listen to LoveTrap podcast

and the I-Hart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. - Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade? Think about how many skills they have to develop

at such a young age? What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? - He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.

- And how did a 2023 event called Waga Getting change the panic forever? - That day is just seared into my memory. - I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman. And these are just a few of the questions

I'm tackling on no grip. A Formula One culture podcast that dives into the undurx lord pockets of the sport. In each episode, a different guest tonight will go deeper into the wacky miss-haps scandals and sagas,

both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

- If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Blagrant and Funny.

- You wanna start with the first question

from the big kid coach of the year? - Oh, what do you like to get? - You like to get a shot of the show? - So you're a Spartan, is that what I'm saying? - So whether you're a bracket is busted

or you just want the real talk on what's happening during the tournament, open your free I-Heart Radio app, search Clagrant and Funny with Kary Champion and Jamel Hill, and listen now, presented by Capital One, founding partner of I-Heart Women's Sports.

- 877 3DP show, operator Tyler's sitting by, he'll take your phone calls. We were talking about, we're going to Pittsburgh, we'll be there for the draft, we'll be there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,

we'll give you the location.

And I think we can have about 50 to 60 people there each day

but we'll give you information as we get a little bit closer. And we were hoping the pirates would be at home, we'd be able to go see, you know, an afternoon game. Pittsburgh is so overtaken for the NFL draft,

Pittsburgh Public Schools are canceling in-person classes around the dates of the draft. So maybe it's going to be a people crunch there and they got their hands full with just the draft.

Yes, Todd.

- Would you find that so weak?

I grew up in New York where I remote-trudging to school, snow above my knees and kept the school open, in like eight to 10 inches of snow, the NFL drafted it down and they're closing the school. I think multiple days, no school

'cause they're making picks in the National Football League. - That's insane. - And you went a mile both ways uphill, right? - I had a long, it was a horizontal walk but it was several blocks in the freezing cold and snow.

It would take a foot of snow for New York to close the school. - Are you calling Pittsburgh soft? - I will stop short of part of the stuff because we're going to be there in person

in the coming weeks but I think it's pretty good.

- After we leave Pittsburgh, will you call Pittsburgh? - Yes.

- And I'll say that the decision makers,

whoever was involved with that decision, weak. - Yes, Paul. - Or is it cool that the kids and their families will be able to get a jumpstart on coming downtown and seeing the draft festivities because of this?

- Pirates, like Steelers have a first round pick, correct? Like the top 15? - Yeah. - So it times out a couple of hours into the draft before the Steelers pick.

- Okay. - We'll get to your phone calls and settle on our poll question. Ben, we were kind of easing into the draft and all of a sudden, Dan Orlovsky starts to fall in love

with Ty Simpson, causing his QB1 over Fernando Mendoza and then all of a sudden, now we care about the draft a little bit more. Chase Daniel, ESPN, NFL and College Football and List, he joins us on the program.

What would you say to those who are critical

of Dan Orlovsky's opinion analysis of Ty Simpson over Fernando Mendoza? - Yeah, look, I talked to Dan quite a bit that after that thing that he said with Ty Simpson over text and he's just explained to me,

I'm like, dude, you don't have to explain to me, like you have in opinion and you're one of the few people that watches every single snap. I mean, there's quite a few that are out there, but then to be able to regurgitate it to the public,

here's where I told him that he was a little bit unshroo and when he went on the Pat Mac at the show 'cause I have no issue whatsoever, and I told Dan that's to his face. Like I like that, like I tend to agree,

like I think Ty Simpson's way closer to QB1,

and I don't think he's QB1. Then he is QB3, but here's where I went and got on him a little bit 'cause we're friends. I said, you said to millions of people out there, a rather social media, Pat Mac, be sure, whatever,

that Mendoza didn't play in any big games. I'm like, Dan, did you see his college football playoff run? Did you see him against the number one defense in the nation in the big 10 championship game? And then he went on to be like, I'm like, no, Dan,

you don't understand, 10 touchdowns, one interception during those four games. It is the greatest, one of the greatest runs that we've seen in history, plus you did it with Indiana. Against blue bloods, I mean, that was a row of teams

that it's, so I think that's probably, like I don't really care, like there's a lot of people, I've talked to some teams, I've talked to a few teams last night that have Simpson over Mendoza, and that's fine, but we just gotta understand that quarterback evaluation

sort of a crapshoot, I appreciate Dan in his opinion, and the platform that he's given,

and I think it's, I think it's absolutely ridiculous

that people are saying Dan's represented by CAA, Tyson's represented by CAA, I don't play any attention to that. I just got on to Dan for him, saying Mendoza and playing in big games. What is Tyson's and do better than Fernando Mendoza?

- Yeah, I think he's a more natural thrower of the football. Like when you, what does that mean? - Yeah, and when I talk to people in the league still or former players who are analysts, it just like his throwing motion, his mechanics

from the ground up just look beautiful, Dan. Like yesterday in his prote, it was like everything you would ever teach a young kid on how to throw a football. This is what you want it to look like. And so Mendoza's a little bit more robotic,

I think Mendoza has a little bit of a stronger arm. And so when you're throwing it and you're watching it in shorts, you're gonna be like, man, and like look, I get Mendoza's six, five, I get Tyson's and six, one, six, two,

but like people who have played the position, I think more so gravitate toward that and get lost in that, although that's not even remotely all of the evaluation. But when I watch him, I feel the same thing, I'm like, man, he's really, really good within the pocket.

Got really good mechanics. Now he's only played 15 games and I saw your taken. I thought it was right a couple of days ago,

Like you want your quarterback to have more than 15 starts.

Like I totally agree with you, right?

But you watched the quality of those starts at the beginning of the year. And I've said this before. And I don't think this is a reach, and you can go back and look on my ex account

for it's year or whatever, and pull this up, because like I said, when Tyson's and after like, I think the Missouri game, which was game eight or nine of his season, I'm like, there's nobody playing better in college football. Like he is locked in to like a very high top pick,

and he is probably gonna win the highsmen if he continues that. That's not being facetious, that's not being hot. Take, that's not being clickbait. Like you just watch it, and it's like, wow.

And then all of a sudden, it's like a huge drop off in play. Yes, he got sick guys, right? Yes, he got hurt a little bit. The offensive line didn't play very well. No run game, and then the last four or five games,

he really struggled. Got a lot of happy feet. And I think if you're taking Tyson's and in the draft in,

that's the number one thing that you have to ask.

And I've talked to teams that have asked, like, what happened? Was it just because you were sick? Was it just because you were down to 185 pounds? He just looked like a completely different player.

That's my issue on why Tyson's and it's not quarterback one. There was a massive drop off in play. Where would Tom Brady's arm today rank among the starting quarterbacks? Wow.

You know, for me, I never thought of Tom Brady

is like this, like, huge arm-type guy like John L.A., right? I would say it probably be middle of the pack. I mean, that's not what Brady was ever going to win you with. Brady was always going to win you with his brain and his arm.

And I feel like I'm getting back into a little bit of a hole right here because I'm like, well, Brady, he's like, not the strongest arm, like the goat for sure.

But there's, and I think this is a good point because it's like,

there's so much more to playing quarterback than looking good in shorts, like I said with Tysonson. And I think that's where Fernando Mendoza really crosses that line for me as quarterback. Yeah, but I was bringing up Brady because he played in that flag

football. And he still, he looks good right for a guy who's, what is he 48 now? 48, yeah, you know, unbelievable. I mean, he's still, he's still slinging it. He really is still got him, man.

We're talking to Chase Daniel, ESPN NFL college football analyst. You know, we look at this draft. It's not a sexy draft. You got, you know, Mendoza's going one. The curiosity is Jeremiah love is the top five pick and then you're going to have

Tysonson. Other than that, you got, you know, if you wide receiver, some edge rusher's there. But I'm curious about your philosophy of drafting a running back. And I don't, I don't look at Jeremiah love as a running back. I just look at him as an influencer.

Like he's, he's going to be out there, returning kicks, catching passes, and he can hit home runs. Would you take him in the top five? If you're Tennessee, do you take him if he's there? Yeah.

That's where it gets interesting for me.

If you're Tennessee, I think you have to really look at taking an offensive weapon

for a cam word because I like for the most part what cam word put on tape. Now, it was a tough season, a lot of change, a lot of all this. He just doesn't have any weapons, and I would agree with you, there's not many backs out there that do the type of things that Jeremiah love does. I just think he's a really, really good prospect, and I really, really like shallow draft

class of like top tier talent, right? You've got the head rusher's, you've got the quarterback, really one, that's something the top five in my opinion. So then you're thinking, well, you know, do you want to get an edge? I don't think an offensive tackle necessarily goes in the top five.

And so I think you're sort of backing yourself into Jeremiah love.

Here's what's interesting to me is like, his contract's not going to be that much compared

to St. Juan Barclay or compared to all these other guys. If you take him in, you get him for five years in the first round, regardless. But if you can have a guy that can come in and be a free downback, I think he's a lot better blocker than people give him credit for. I think he's really good out of the backfield.

Like there's no way he's going to make it there, but like the Saints, to me, make a ton of sense, because like I was with Alvin Kamara when Sean Peyton drafted him. Now I don't think they're the same player. I think loves a little bit bigger, but he can have that kind of impact that early on out of the backfield catching the ball and just the type of person he is.

I would absolutely be interested in taking him if I'm Tennessee Titans. Is there a third quarterback? Yeah, look, that is that is the the thousand dollar question, man, because when you look at it, it's like for me, at least, right? It's like my opinion is like Mendoza in Simpson, and I do think they're close.

I do think they're close.

I think Mendoza's one, I think Simpson is too, and then to me there's a huge drop-off

to where it's maybe, maybe, end of day two, beginning of day three. And that, that person to me would be their Garrett Nussmire or Druller. Now Garrett Nussmire to me is an interesting one because he's a little bit, you know, coaches kid, he's going to interview well, he's going to look good in shorts, but when you watch the film in this past year, yes, I know he was hurt, yes, it just wasn't very good.

You go back two years ago in 2024, and you're watching, you're like, okay, like I can see some traits of the high quality backup, maybe in the right scheme and right fit if

you have to play, you can be successful.

And then Drew Aller, I mean to me, like I really like them two years ago, but he's probably the most frustrating prospect I've watched in the past couple of years when you break down quarterbacks, because he has all the traits in the world. Like you look at him just physically then, and you would have said in 2024, I mean, this is what I want my guy to be made up.

And then you watch the film, you're like, what are you doing?

Like there's these double plays here and there that you're just like, ah, and it shares a sentiment of some NFL teams I've talked to with it, but like, if you have good coaching, and if you feel really good about developing, I'm not going to say he's going to come in and play right away, but if you develop him, high level backup can be a starter. And then obviously like Carson Beck, I think like there's, there's hit or miss on him.

It's just a really, it's like, if you want to back up quarterback after Ty Simps and then Mendoza, this is possibly your draft. How does Kyler Murray work in Minnesota? Yeah. That's a great one.

I really like it a lot to be honest with you.

But I think the second that, you know, KLC signed Kyler and then re-sign Carson went,

like I just think JJ McCarty is going to be quarterback three and could be, you know, on the move in the draft of someone will take him. Like I just, I don't think his, as far as, as, as, you know, JJ McCarty goes, I think it's time with Minnesota sort of probably done.

Now with Kyler, here's what is really good about Kyler, because I like the way he plays,

but he's very much, I want to do it myself, type of quarterback, right? So like, I'm going to put it all on me, I'm going to do all this. He doesn't have to do that anymore. Like you look at the offensive system, he's going to plus the playmakers around him. If KLC can get him to just be like, okay, just throw an out route to the field on time.

You don't want to take his stinger away by screaming, but like, just throw a three step pitch. Let's just, let's just move the ball down the field. He's never done that, but with Kyler, it makes a lot of sense. You're getting them for $1.3 million, but he can turn his career around.

I mean, he really could, and the fact that he's going to a guy like KLC, man, I really like it. Great to talk to you. It's always. Thanks for joining us.

We'll talk to you again, leading up to the draft. All right, Ben. Thanks for having me on. That's Chase Daniel. You can check out the Chase Daniel show on YouTube.

He breaks down the quarterback. He's great at doing it. ESPN NFL college football analyst. A couple of phone calls, Chris and Syracuse, we got our play of the day coming up soon. Hi, Chris.

Hi, did hit. Thank you very much. I got a comment and a question for you. I'm very excited for baseball starting and for my Cincinnati Reds. And Dan, whatever happened to the big panic over torpedo bats.

In the last season, after the Yankees had their nine home run game, and all the talk was torpedo bats are going to run baseball. That lasted a couple of weeks and you haven't heard anything.

I think I had more to do with Yankee hangers in the bats themselves.

And Dan, remember, it was probably 15 years ago. All I said on my call was that the Yankees were arguably the greatest sports franchise ever. And you had Peter King on right after my call and he was living. He ripped my fake threads.

It was classic. And as I said, then, me thinks the Springfield Mass Native doth protest too much. And Dan, you mentioned yesterday that you once had the station wagon where you had a roll it to get it going, just like the karate kid in his mind. So I guess that makes you the O.D., the original Daniel son.

And Dan, like karate kid, did you ever take dates out in your wagon? Uh, yeah, but not many. Not many. They were lean times, lean times in high school and college for Danny Boy. And I think I hit my prime once I got maybe when I got to CNN, when I hit New York,

all of a sudden, at least. Yeah, it was kind of like John Voight in the movie with Dustin Hoffman midnight cowboy. Are you some male prostitute? Sometimes it takes a little while to get there, but when they figure it out, it clicks. I kept thinking the women have to figure it out, not me, and then I realized nobody wants

a unibrow, you know, unless you're Anthony Davis, and of course Marvin loves Anthony

Davis.

Yes, Martin.

First of all, I do, and then second of all, it's kind of like Steph Curry.

Steph Curry and he's trying to year five, but you kind of like Steph Curry, the Dayton

world. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's right. You know, it's MVP one year.

Okay. Down in Atlanta. Doing work. Not damage. It's work.

Yeah, just work. Atlanta work. New York work. Yes, Todd. Appreciate it.

That much more because you know the journey that it took to get that stuff. It's something's just handed to you. You don't understand how to get to that stuff. I know. I didn't wake up good looking.

You know, this is a long process, Todd, but it's just so much more fulfilling when you know what you went through to get to that spot at the top of the house. Yeah, she doesn't buy a happiness. It does. Yeah.

There's those other struggles. Yeah, right? You're happiness.

And you just, you're born so good looking.

It just. So there's other struggles in life. I know. People take you for granted. People don't appreciate it.

I know. Stop. The back row knows that quite well. You do. You guys were boy band.

I born on third. Yeah. No doubt about that. I don't think anybody scored. I don't think you guys got to home play, though.

I think you guys stayed. It's third. We will. Todd did. I don't remember.

Sac fly. I didn't come extra base here. That's what the truth be told. I don't know how many weights I was left there.

Would you leave early from third base, you know, when they would challenge in there

and throw it back to the media? Yeah. All right. Play the day up next. More of your phone calls after this.

Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age?

What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. Nicole Yokech had a 23-21-19 triple-double, let's see. Luca went for 43, the lakers with a win against the Pacers, so that's 11 consecutive games

that he's had 30 or more, Kobe had a streak that I think was 16 of those games.

By the way, the longest streak in the NBA since Joe LnBeat scored 30 or more in 22 consecutive games. How's the day Brought to you by Panani America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show? Do we have a term for the triple-double where it's 2020 plus? I don't think we do.

We need one. Do you want to offer up one? No, I have to think about this. Will Chamberlain did it in 68. Russell Westbrook did it in 2019.

Yokech did it in 25, and he went 30, 2020. Yeah, there's only three I think in NBA history. Joker fell one assist shy of his fourth of the fourth 2020 triple-double in NBA history. You know, I bet we'll Chamberlain had games where he had 2020, 2020, and 20 blocks.

Just the fact that they didn't start keeping that stat until what the 80s?

In that wild, two of the greatest shot blockers, in fact, the greatest shot blockers of all time, Wiltonville Russell. Don't get credit. They don't get credit for how many, you know, block shots. They'll be like, oh, yeah, probably blocked of, you know, three or four, no.

They probably average at least 10 blocks again. Yes, Marvin. There wasn't a defensive player the year warden, so maybe like 1982 or something like that. So they're entire careers.

No type of accolades for the defensive prowess. Gambling podcast later today, available at dampentric.com, Fritzzy did another Todd cast yesterday. How did it go? I thought it went very well.

OK.

How long did it go?

It went about an hour. OK. We've been trying to do maybe closer to like, in the 40 range of silver, we just get rolling and we're having a good time next then you know, it's something in the hour ballpark. All right.

It's Todd Cast, available at dampentric.com. David, in Ohio. Good morning, David. What's on your mind? Hey, what's up, Dan?

I know you're a little still bummed out about the sports army situation, but I think

that Todd could maybe make you feel better by wearing that mark David's wig maybe around the studio there for you. So would you be willing to wear the mark David's wig to cheer me up? I would. It was a little itchy and I don't love it, but if they would cheer you up and you felt

there was necessary for morale, then of course I would. How about next hour, just one hour for the entire hour? OK.

How about the first segment?

That's fine. If you want me to wear for the hour, I would, but it's a very itchy to the scalp. But I know how about you sacrifice for me. You tell me what you want me to do and I will do it. I would like for you to get the mark David's wig and wear next hour.

I'm 10 to 11 o'clock Easter time. Yes. Do you think you can do it? Yes. That's all right.

Fair enough. Andrew and Michigan. Hi, Andrew. What's on your mind? Hey.

Good morning, Dan. Thanks for taking my call. Five, eleven, two, forty-five. Thank you.

Hey, I got to meet a comment about the game on Netflix last night and you're always talking

about letting the game breathe and just didn't feel like that last night. There would be a camera angle of the pitch, then it goes right to a camera angle of a fan. Then another fan. And then the coach, and then go right back to the picture.

I mean, never got to see him like set up and check base or under, you know, so that's all.

Yeah. It was bumpy, Andrew. There are elements that were good. This is what happens when you have all these new toys and bells and whistles and you want to showcase all of it.

It's normal. And then those settle in, but they don't have that many games that they're doing. I don't think. Now, is that right? I don't think Netflix is doing a lot of baseball games, at least I didn't get that feeling.

But yeah, I was a little inundated with Netflixy and things and personalities. Baseball is a game that you, it shouldn't be a lot of different camera cuts. It should be, let it just kind of breathe a little bit there. But if you're trying to showcase, hey, look at our graphics, look at this camera angle. Hey, we got a big end out in the cubby coat.

Okay, we got it. We got it. Settle down. Yes. Time.

Are you saying it needs to be Netflix?

Yeah. I don't think it.

I'm going to give you a blue part on that one.

I'll take a mini blue. No, I'm going to give that to you. Jacob, in Oklahoma. Hi, Jake. Hey, good morning, Dan.

I also have a comment about the Netflix broadcast. I had to do it. I will say it was James Winston. I wasn't ready for that before the game, I did not expect him at the giant stadium. And then Barry Vaughn, he hasn't even been around the public for a while, and then his comments

about being a good teammate. I know you said that, but I was just, I immediately thought of you because I did no idea what he was talking about, and I don't think he did either. And it just felt like the other people in the broadcast were like defending him. And it just felt weird.

And one last thing, Dan, the dancers for the starting line-ups before the game were not good. Thank you, Jake. Do you have that information, Pauli? Yeah, Netflix only has three games this year.

It's almost like three stand-alone events, opening night, the Home Run Derby, and MLB at Field of Dream. Field of Dreams. Yeah, that's it. It'll be hard to kind of settle in with only three games.

All right, coming up next hour, Fritz C puts on the Raiders' Owners' Wig, Mark Davis, not his actual hairpiece, but the one, a reasonable facsimile, and a little later on, Mac McClung on the program. I'm Laurie Seagull, and on my new podcast, Mostly Human, I'll take you to some wild corners of the tech world.
