the culture of motor racing's most coveted series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-export pockets of F1, including the astrology of the current grid, the story of the sports most consequential driver strike, and plenty of other mishab scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent, dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the eye-harp radio app, apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm Lori Seagull, and on my new podcast Mostly Human, I'll take you to some wild corners of the tech world. I'm about to go on a date with an AI companion, add a real world cafe right here near a city. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
Mostly Human is your playbook for how tech can work for you. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur, anyone can build an app, and it's very empowering. Listen to Mostly Human on the I-Hart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. This is one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City
politics. A screen good down, good down, those are shots. A tragedy that's now forgotten, and a mystery that may or may not have been political, that may have been about sex. Listen to Worshack, Murder and City Hall, on the I-Hart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts. If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Blagrant and Funny.
“You want to start with the first question for the big kid coach of the year?”
Oh, what do you want to do? Do you like it? Yeah, sure. You're a Spartan. Is that what I mean?
Exactly. You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. It's hour or two when a meet Friday, gangs all here, Moral is high, fritzy, with a retro DP show hat on. That's old old school. Because they're Patrick.com, on the back, matches my little steak rest, my church.
I want to go a little red pink white, I don't know. You're just like me. You don't throw away anything. I don't throw away anything. That's an attic.
Era hat. That is. That goes back to the attic. And today is the seven year anniversary of when we moved out of the old man cave. And so many great memories.
You look back on how much space we didn't have, now it's an embarrassment of riches. But I thought it was good for the show because you couldn't really go anywhere, hide, cameras were on you.
Never we were doing meet Fridays out on a little grill or I don't even know what it was.
It was a little grill, and it was at the back area. That was a metal walk down stairs, emergency exit. And it was a treacherous. But somehow we put together meet Fridays and it brought us to where we are meet Friday today.
Thanks to Rectac, they sent us recipes. So we have elk, bacon, sliders, tuna, carpaccio, filet mignon, Oscar style, Pesto Crested Salmon, Russell Sprouts, and glazed carrots. Who has it better than we do? No.
Why? I don't know Oscar style. I'm sure I've had Oscar style, but I don't know the definition poorly. Of course, I have that on my screen, Dan, Veal Oscar is a decadent dish. It's usually Veal Cutlets, but now it's on stake.
It's a rich sauce with crab meat, asparagus, and either Bernays or Hollandays.
It goes back to King Oscar the second.
I didn't see the first one, so I was kind of lost on the second one of Sweden. King Oscar the second. Now we're the Oscars named after King Oscar. I will check that. It's a good question.
I'm not sure. By the way, I watched the movie last night, 28 years. Now I'm not a zombie apocalypse guy when he hears later.
“I think, yeah, I was at 28 years, maybe I missed the later part of it.”
That's not your thing. Don't at all. But my wife and two of my daughters are going, hey, we're going to watch a movie, and I go, okay, what do you got? And they go, okay, just say that you'll watch a little bit of it.
I go, what do we watch? They said it's zombie apocalypse, I go, no. Ray finds is crazy, Ray finds is unbelievable. Yeah. He didn't get nominated, I don't think he got nominated.
No, not that zombie movies do a lot, do they, do they typically get no, but his acting is unbelievable. He was phenomenal in that unbelievable character, yeah.
Just watch the final scene where he has to convince these zombies that he is ...
And it is, I mean, it's wild, it's not my kind of movie.
But, you know, my daughters and my wife are so into zombie apocalypse, and if they could meet Brad Pitt, they would, they would only bring up World War Z, okay. That's all they, they love those movies, and I'm not into them at all. Yes, you can. That's like 28 years later is in a series of films, it's one of those where it started
“with 28 days later, and a dude, gosh, what is his name?”
I'm blanking on his name now, famous actor. Anyway, he goes into the hospital, I think he's in a coma or something like that. And he wakes up 28 days after that happens, or he goes in for surgery, maybe, something like that. And he wakes up, there's, while he's under anesthesia or he's in a coma, I forget what
it is, a zombie apocalypse happened, and he wakes up 28 days after, and the whole world has changed. And he's like, what the hell's going on?
He has no idea what happened.
So you have 28 days later, this is obviously 28 years later, the whole world is even crazier. It's like rayfines, that's acting. But it's gory, they love, you know, that zombie apocalypse, yes, and that's based on a true story. 28 days.
Yeah. That really happened. Yep. I believe it started in Atlanta from Namaste. 28.
28. 28. You know what I'm saying? Present. No.
No more. No more. No more. No more.
“The falkins are like, would you rather be attacked by zombies, or the Patriots?”
Yeah. I'd rather be attacked by zombies, not the Patriots. All right, he, eight, seven, seven, three D.P. show, email address [email protected], Twitter, handle it D.P. show. I saw this story where the Kansas City Royals catcher Carter Jensen.
He was removed from the starting lineup last night against the twins because he slept through his alarm. He didn't wake up, and he said, I don't have an excuse. It sucks. It happens.
I let my teammates down, but it was a home game, right? I think he got in in the ninth inning, but he did, he's 22 years of age. Was he living in a home with his parents? But they're trying to get a hold of him. When they're calling the house, and he doesn't answer, so he ended up not starting in
that game. I read more about this. He did set the alarm. He didn't blame his alarm for not going off, which is a classic move. He said he just slept through it.
Wouldn't it be easier on the road, because wake up call your alarm, there's probably
“like a security guy with the team that would not be on the door?”
Yes. But this was a home game. Yeah. Yes. It's Carter Jensen.
I'm sure he's a fine ball player, but if that was George Bratcher, something back to the day, I think they're going to wake it up a little late at the ballpark. I'm just guessing. I'm going to guess somebody's going to drive over there, and I'll be right. No, George.
You're still going to play third base game in the lineup. Does he, is he going to be known as Sleepy Jensen? Good stick. Does he get a nickname off of this? Sleepy Jensen.
Whose Jensen, baseball players used to always have nicknames, you know, they oil can
boyden, who was it Rick, the rooster, Burlson, you know, when they had great nicknames, calm drowsy or something like that, like it's one of the, don't be, yes, yes, see. This one's actually from social media based off of a title saying before, but making a poll question out of nicknames, you hate being called by people who don't know you. Like Paul, like Todd didn't like being called shorty, but you know, big man sir, something
like that. Like hey, hey guy, call me guy with the heck, man. Well, what is short for a guy, what's a fish leash, is five seven, the cut off to you're either, if you're five seven or shorter than your short five seven or below, I would, would be considered short, but I don't know that five eight is,
you're on the what the taller side of short than I, if, okay, if you're on both shrimp. The over under at five seven and a half, because it's always got to be a half there. Paul, you got the average? Yeah, of course. The CDC says just over five feet nine inches is the average American male in 20 25.
Are you short if you're under five nine, like in America, yes, but the worldwide average is five seven and a half. So we are a little taller than the average country, eat it. Other, but Todd, are you considered short by our standard? I'm considered short by the photographer, I'm like five, nine and three quarters, five
Ted right now, based on the last measurement that the, I think, physicians of...
I think you're just average, I think you'd be just listed as average.
In general, and my, everything about me or just, but I don't know, no, no, I'm saying you would be listed as an average, but I'm very unique and, especially in a lot of other ways. You are, Todd, it's not about anything else. Yeah, maybe she was saying, not shorty, but like, shorty, like, S, H, A, W, T, Y, like
an affectionate term for a love interest, not like, not like, hey, this is short guy, but more like, what's up, shorty? It's just like, I felt better than if that's not what I was supposed to say. No, no, no, no, no, no. She said, it's usually used for women, but I mean, maybe in this context, I don't know,
it's only 26. No, the photographer during picture day yesterday was saying, hey, you're not as tall as the other people. Hey, shorty, you come up in the front. Are you sure?
Yes. I think there was a hand gesture involved to, like, you just got to, like, you know, showing the height. Yes. Same with the hand.
Yes.
Hey, you know, she had personality.
Yeah. And you just take it as you want. I thought of it as a romantic story. I appreciate, I wish it was like that, but it's, I got the vibe of, like, yours, shorter than everyone.
“So you should stand here and get on a knee.”
It's shorty, I think it was up for debated all, actually, and you did a little hand motion. If, like, you're this height, no, the 8773DP show and get to phone calls coming up mad dog, Russo will join us as well. Film Nicholson will not be in the master's.
He's dealing with a family issue. Tiger, we know, will not be going to the masters. And that video, the rest video came out yesterday. And it's messy. There's a lot of things going on in there.
At one point, somebody asked Tiger if he's going to the masters. And I think he says, well, that's up to you, the resting officers. He also leaves for a little while. He's on his phone and comes back and says he just spoke to the president, which I'm going to guess he probably did call.
And I think president Trump tweeted that out. That's kind of a lame move for him though, even in the middle of a DUI. Name dropping like that. That's kind of lame. Yes, Todd.
That's so weak. What are they supposed to say? You were on the phone with the president? You're free to go. Sorry, Tiger.
Here, what happened? Well, help you flip your car back over. You're getting out of here. You got more important things to do. And it was not a mistake.
Here's your pills. I don't know what you're supposed to do with that. So why do you feel he was on the phone with? I don't care. Any details on our end?
No. OK. But it's, it's wild. At one point, they asked Tiger to take all of his sunglasses. And that's when they go, oh boy.
It's never good. Tigers on one knee sitting there and he's talking to them. He's just air like, hey, you might've just take these off real quick. And they pull the glasses off his head. That's not good.
Yeah. Yeah. And then he takes the pills out of his pocket puts it in a bag, a baggy there. Yeah. You know, his, like, explanation for that he's looking down at his phone.
I know that there's pills. He didn't take the blood test. Uh, all of that stuff. The urine test, whatever. Um, I mean, I know definitely people drive and they're looking at their phones.
And you look up real quick. And oh crap, somebody's right there and you try to swore of out of the way and click the end of it and flip this car. It's a totally, you know, believable story. I'm not saying that it makes sense. Um, or that, that it's right, you know, but that's a very believable thing that people.
Some people are always looking at their phone while they're driving.
Yes. But he was impaired. And doing that. And impaired. Yes.
The, the bigger part of the, and he was impaired. Um.
“But I think I don't know when's the last time Phil or Tiger and or Tiger weren't in the masters.”
You got to go back probably to the early 90s, maybe. Not. I'm, I was trying to think the last time we didn't have them either one of them at the masters. Yeah, Paul. 1994.
Oh. Hey. Yeah. End of an era. Huh?
Yeah. But it's weird how, here you, I'm, I'm guessing these are the resting officers asking him about the masters that we still put that. Instead of dealing with what is real right here. Then you're going to say, you know, you're still going to go to the masters. You know, that's the problem.
It feels like, you know, you keep kicking the can down the road here. It's like, no, how about we just focus on this? Unless you're just trying to engage Tiger and have casual conversation. But it's like, hey, man. It was close call.
You're going to go to the masters. And then he says, well, that's up to you. Yes, Tom. And Tiger himself was so traumatized by what he did or what he could have done to other people that he had them break the back of the window of his car. So they can get his precious butter that he won a bunch of titles with that.
And make sure they got that out of the truck. Yeah, he did.
“They said, is there anything you want out of the truck vehicle?”
And he said, uh, get my sticks, get my clubs. Back, uh, sneak it a couple of phone calls here. Peter and San Diego.
Hi, Pete.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Hi, Dan. Um, I just, uh, I've got a couple of things.
Um, I thought you were miscast in the happy girl. Go or to movie.
“I think they, uh, should have recreated a Bob Barker role.”
And you could have had a role with the San Man on the golf course. That would have been hilarious. And I also want to say that, um, a couple of months ago, you guys were talking about underrated films. And you didn't mention a one that came to top of my list. So, uh, can I get a stab at the day?
All right. [Music] So, I think that, uh, the unedited version of blue velvet with Dennis Hopper is a fellow rose of leaning. Should get the top of your list.
[Music] I like the movie. [Music]
I didn't see the unedited version, but, uh, I did like Dennis Hopper.
That was, that was a bizarre movie. Really bizarre. But he has a fellow rose of leaning. Beautiful. But Dennis Hopper, he played Dennis Hopper.
He played Creepy, really, really well. Uh, Emmett, in Connecticut. Hi Emmett, what's on your mind? Hey, Dan, how are you? Good.
6, 2, 2, 20. [Music] And I have to apologize because my ears are still a little bit, uh, and I'm definitely from the Duke UConn game.
“Did you say that the UNC job would, Dan Hurley could for go for the UNC job?”
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I said he could. Like, if North Carolina said to Dan Hurley, "Hey, do you want to come be our coach?" You know, he could do that in one phone call if he wanted it.
I'm not saying he is or should, uh, any of that. So, this is where we kind of hear a little bit, and then all of a sudden, Dan Patrick said that, you know, Danny Hurley thinks North Carolina is better than a Connecticut. Not the case.
Not the case. So Emmett, I'm not, I'm not saying anything other. If North Carolina wanted Dan Hurley and, you know, or if he wanted Dan, he could make a call and he could make that happen. I'm not saying he's going to do it, should do it,
and North Carolina is not a better job than you come. Okay? I have another question for you though, okay. I know you're a fan of hot dogs,
“and up here in New Britain, we have the best hot dogs in the state,”
and we'd like to bring some down for me to write it for you. Um, well, maybe give your information to Tyler, and we appreciate that, Emmett, but I don't want that headline, you know, saying something about Dan Hurley leaving going to North Carolina.
Yes. You know, if this is another news organization though, sports news organization, you would say that in the morning, then they would send a reporter to the press conference later to ask about the reports of that happening.
And then you would drive that content all day on that network. And if you look at what he has, he has been did that with Dan or Lomsky. Yeah, they do it all the time. It, it, it's, they just, hey, we created the news. Now let's send it down the rabbit hole.
Where all of our shows are now going to talk about. 18 straight hours. We're going to be talking about a thing that we, one of our guys commented. And I, I have a source who's an NFL scout.
And he said, I don't have a first round grade on Ty Simpson.
He said, now, it doesn't mean he won't go in the first round. He said, I don't have a first round grade. Because I, asking yesterday, because I said, look, it's over Lomsky onto something. He goes, I don't have a first round grade on it.
That's all I can tell you. Doesn't mean he can't be a first round pick. Can't be a starter. I don't have a first round grade on it. I said, okay.
All right. Mad Dog Russo is going to join us up next. We'll take a break. We're back after this. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick Show.

Look no further than no grip.
A new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-export pockets of F1. Including the astrology of the current grid. Louis Hamilton, Crap the Corn Son, Cancer Moon. Wouldn't you know it? Michael Schumacher is also a Capricorn Son Cancer Moon.
The story of the sportsman's consequential driver strike. We have one man who, upon hearing that he was going to be fired, freaked out, and apparently climbed out the window of the bathroom. And was Daniel Recarto's illustrious F1 career
“a success story, a cautionary tale, or some combination of both?”
He started getting all of this attention. And he maybe started to think, "I'm bigger than this. I'm better."
And plenty of other mishabed scandals and sagas
that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent gumster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the I-Heart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Laurie Seagull, a longtime tech journalist,
and consider my new podcast mostly human, your bridge to the future. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur, anyone can build an app, and it's very empowering. Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future, and we're going to break down what all of this innovation
actually means for you. What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be messy.
There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment. Mostly human will show you how. My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit.
The reason I say agency is because, like, if you can give power back to people,
“then I think that's probably the best thing we can do for your mental health.”
Listen to mostly human on the I-Heart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. [music playing] [music playing] A silver 40 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.
From I-Heart Podcasts and best case studios. This is Worshack, Murder at City Hall. Could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that! July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons.
And in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead. [music playing] And everybody in the chambers, dogs, a shocking public murder. A scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. Those are shots, get down. A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time.
I still have a weapon. And I could shoot you. [music playing] And an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was infected flat now.
That may have been not been political. That may have been about six. Listen to Worshack, Murder at City Hall, on the I-Heart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you could get your podcasts. If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Blade Grant and Funny. You look at the top four number one thieves.
What do you think UCLA is going to do? Break down that for me, my friend. Obviously, you kind of see over well the paper.
“In this tournament, but I, the honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas.”
Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon, and that right after that would be Texas. S&C is so deep and so thick and just about everything. I really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU.
Only once I could possibly upset Yukon. On Flegren and Funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments the conversations everyone's having, so whether you're bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament. We got you. Listen to Flegren and Funny with Carrie, Champion, and Jamal Hill on the I-Heart Radio App.
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of I-Heart Women's Sports. Christopher Maddog Rousseau, Maddog Sports Radio Channel, serious XM. Maddog Unleashed, and you could listen to him weekdays at three Eastern.
Also you'll see him on first take with Stephen A.
Good to see you, Doug. We were talking about Collapses. Bleach Report has the top Collapses of the 21st century. John Van DeVell doesn't make it because that was 1999. It starts in 2001.
The Falcons Patriots, number one. And then it was the Yankees in the Red Sox with the Yankees Claps and the ALCS. Any problems with that, the two biggest Collapses?
The only problem with the Yankees in Red Sox is that the Yankees beat the Red...
You know, and they did it with heroic fashion with the home run by Boonet.
They would down 528th. So it's hard to sit there and kill the Yankees. Eventually the Red Sox were going to beat them. But I understand they had a 3-0 lead. I got to put the Giants Angels O2 Game 6, 3-2 Giants.
5 nothing, bottom 7. You got to put that in there, don't you think? Yeah. Well, the Rangers lost to the Cardinals in there too. You know, just one strike away twice.
One strike away, winning that championship twice. Yes. Now, I don't know how you feel about it. When you win a World Series, after you blew one,
“Does it make up for the fact that you choked one away?”
Texas is one Giants 1-3. Does that make up for the fact that you lost an O2 and lost the Cardinals if your Rangers have. Atlanta has not won a Super Bowl since they blew the lead to the Patriots.
So you got to put that in the equation because if you're a sports fan,
OK, we lost to the Angels, but I won 3 World Series since. Takes a lot of this stinger away. That's something you got to think about. Do you think anything can surpass 28 to 3 in our lifetime? Well, used in against Buffalo 353.
Now, it wasn't a Super Bowl and it wasn't in this century, but that was a terrible loss. And I was also, but yeah, you're right. Now, it was against Brady, but you know, that's going to be tricky one.
I'm sure we can find one. I know the Duke thing and you got to put Duke in last year too. So if I back to back, so you probably could add Duke, not in this level, but that was terrible for Duke. But 28, 28, 28, great.
That's probably the worst one. You know, is there a golf one? Well, Vanderveld would have been in there with the British Open, but that was 1999. Where about speed?
How about speed that the master? Better guys. Yeah. That going to the 12th, I think, that you have a five stroke lead going to the 12th hole.
There's the back nine. Yeah. How about Mac. Now, macaroia's since won. Yeah.
How about he's 40 on the back nine? That one year. Yeah. You could put that in there.
“How about Norman Norman was 96 Norman against Faldo?”
Oh, yeah. Yeah. All right. I was there for that one. You have that one.
Yeah. That one. And you know what? Rick Riley to his credit going Saturday. I saw him after Saturday's round.
And I said, what do you think?
And he said, Greg Norman always finds the banana peel.
Yeah. And I never forgot that going into Sunday. And I've never been in a crowd that wasn't cheering for Faldo. They just felt terrible for Greg Norman. And it's weird because at a gust of those crowds.
That's part of the ambiance that's as good. It's not better than any other sporting event when somebody does something great. The crowd didn't know how to react with what unfolded on that back nine that day. 100% and I think if it wasn't found or chasing. I think Norman could have figured it out.
But, you know, Faldo was very, you know, still minded. He had one couple times already. He knew how to handle it and make the guy lose the tournament. Instead of him trying to win it.
“So I think Faldo had a lot to do with the two.”
And I know Riley wrote a great story called Norman Mr. Saturday night. If I'm not mistaken. Which is one of the great ones. Great lights. Talking to Mad Dog Roosa.
I'm worried about the voice here, dog. Yeah, I know all of a sudden I'd be all right. I got a, you know, I had a yesterday who was a great spot. You've known him forever. Patrick, you know.
Yeah, it was very good. Yeah, I listened. But you did. Good, Jenny. Yeah.
And, you know, when he's so miscast or mislabeled. He's really, and I understand why Patrick is defensive. Everything that was set about him characterized. What fans were doing, throwing bananas. You know, I mean, there was so much.
And then, you know, they got close in New York. They didn't win in New York. But you sit down with him. He's a very thoughtful, entertaining, fun, sensitive person. And I've been fortunate to have a relationship with him.
It's one of those, where you go. Yeah, I'm covering the Biggie's tournament back when he's playing. And, you know, they didn't talk to the media. Nobody. Big John, none of that.
And all of a sudden, somebody said, hey, you'll be, you'll be friends with that. God, be like, nope. I don't think so. I agree with you 100%.
I probably sat in that summit,
rooting for Elijah one in '94.
“At least for a game seven, they were down three, two.”
And I feel bad about it right now. I have to ewing, because he's such a nice guy. Yes. I was really, and I tell you, Danny, Frank, I saw to help me with him.
I texted him, because I got his number at 330. And he came on at 405. Yeah. That's pretty nice. That's pretty nice.
The Tiger Woods situation. I'm wondering, Tiger doesn't have anything. When you think about where he is in his career, his body, golf is kind of over for him. I mean, it's maybe going to be ceremonial.
If he is able to come back.
I know he's got other things to worry about. But I want to talk to sports element of this. Having that where something you love, something you're defined by, something you can't do because your body is broken. Now I wonder, what happens?
Like truly happens to Tiger Woods. When he doesn't have that outlet, he doesn't have that ability to be able to go out there and play and play at a high level. Well, he hasn't had it for a while, though. I mean, he's had the hope that he could do something.
But he hasn't had it for a while. He seems to be in that executive council. Well, they're trying to change some of the scenarios with the tour, with the signature events. Maybe down a road.
He can figure out a way to get the L.I. The live and the P.J. tour sort of back together. So we can see D.C.M. Bow and RUM and Cameron Smith.
“I think you'll probably see him as a writer, club captain.”
Down a road and always not to do it next year.
Maybe down a road. Yeah, it's a bad situation. I feel bad for him. Now, I do think the golf community is a whole. She'd have done something about this a long time ago. I think they've bowed down a tiger and a genuflected in front of them for 30 years.
Chris, he's too big. I guess. He's too big. You surround yourself with yes people. You don't surround yourself with people go, you know what?
You probably shouldn't be doing that. You know what? Let me take away those pills. You know what? Let me drive. That's Tyler got a tiger got to where he is because he had a single minute focus. And he wasn't listening to anybody.
You know, he'd listen to what golf instructor is dad. But other than that, you know, tiger was focused. Now you've got to take away some of that that he's going to listen. And I don't know if anybody will get Freddy couples just in Thomas's agents. But don't you think they tried that Chris?
Yes.
“But I think it's weird to, you know, tiger got rid of some friends here a while ago.”
You know, Barclay, some of those guys that, you know, he kind of, you know, that people said all these might not be great influences on you or whatever the reasoning was. But I just don't know if somebody's going to get his attention. And say, you know, I don't know, Barclay tried. I mean, did they really try?
I mean, I mean, did his agent try? I mean, you can't have, I mean, it's been three times now he's been driving. You know, whether it was in California when he thought a sleep three o'clock in the morning. The other day, I mean, geez. I mean, you would think somebody would have said tiger enough.
And he would have listened. But Chris, the right Chris, those are the ones that we know about. Right, your might be somewhere. There's those are the ones we know about. I'd who do you like this weekend, then?
Um, I have Arizona winning the national title. Did you have, did you? I'm sure you picked them a while ago. Yeah, yeah. Okay.
Yeah, I think so too. I didn't pick them. But I think you're right. The one thing that I've had lapis on and a couple of others that did make a good point. The youth of Arizona worries people.
They got three freshmen in the back court. Correct. Yeah. And Michigan's a little older. And I know a couple of coaches, you talk to the same people more than I do.
It seems like a little, and after we saw Booser, make them mistake it, made court. That there's a couple of people who think that could hurt Arizona in a close game. Now, they played a lot of close games a year, they played at Houston, Iowa State, played a great schedule.
One at you, con. So I mean, it's not like they're not used to it. But this is the semi finals of the championship. So there you go, semi finals. If your Tommy Lloyd is Arizona a better job than North Carolina.
Yeah, that's a good one. No, he did not comment about it again. Somebody said that you would know that Jordan caused them last Friday.
Tough to say no to Jordan.
Does it have a good relationship with the Arizona staff? I was told the administration that there might be something fractured there. I heard the same thing. So, and maybe it doesn't have a great relationship with the AD somebody.
“And so as he leaves North Carolina, as far as the job goes, why leave?”
Two signed a great place. Duke's not eight miles away.
There's not an incredible amount of pressure.
You kill Arizona State. Lot of players. Good weather. You go on a championship. Why leave?
So that's if he's, and he didn't even bring it up. You know, yesterday I'm focused on Arizona. He didn't say I'm not going to North Carolina. He said I'm focused on, well, of course you're focused. I mean, you know what?
I'm not thinking about our team. We know you're focused. So I think he might take the job. I think North Carolina is preparing for that. I think so too.
I get that. The Danny Hurley incident. How did you happen? I mean, I don't have a major problem with it. He did it out of the exuberance.
I don't know if it affected males getting the job in the final four. Everybody says he's a great rat from people love him. I guess Danny's got a good relationship with him. He was excited. He did touch him.
The idea that he didn't do silly. We all saw it. Yeah. But I'm not going to make it. You can't give him a technical foul.
I mean, actually, take of us. So I'm okay with it. But it looks, it looks, it looks, the perception looks bad. The perception, I'll tell you right now. Give that kinetic team a lot of credit, Danny.
Oh, man. Oh, sure. The vibe, the toughness. I mean, they got killed by St. John's in the biggest final. A lot of teams don't recover from that.
And they did.
And remember, their first championship.
They lost more a cat in the semi-finals of the biggest. And won the title. I mean, they recover really well. Let's give her a lot of credit for that. You know, when I wanted to have you on initially, it was for the automated balls and strikes.
Right. I love it. But I want baseball to embrace all of it. I don't like the, hey, you made the wrong call. Now everybody in the ballpark knows the empire made the wrong call.
“I think if you are able to just say all the calls are, you know, just like tennis automated balls and strikes.”
It can be up on the jumbo trun. It can be, you know, a game show field to it. You can, you know, have some fun with it. And nobody is getting embarrassed by this. Because even when you miss a call, I can miss a call by, you know, a centimeter.
But the crowd does it know that. They're like, you're a bomb. You miss, I, I just think, and they're going to be headed that way. I just, I don't know if man Fred thought that this out of these empires are going to be single out. Even when they might get 96% or 97% of the calls correct.
Yeah, I like the strategy of it. But I do know what you're saying. See me bucking it. Look bad last weekend. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. I think that was probably a little bit too big of a jump to go from, you know, um, um, um, pirates balls and strikes. Now and I can have a home play on par.
I think you need a gradual step. So I think eventually you might be right. You might see this.
“But I think they probably were looking for something halfway.”
And then down and row, they're doing full way. You know, baseball's got a lot of juice right now. You know, they had a good WBC. Yeah. Um, the ABS people are into it.
I mean, outside of Netflix, which was awful in the first game of the year. You know, they, you know, there's this, the manager in the sport. I think people are into it. Um, they had some decent ratings. Fox, the first game of the year.
Yeah, keep pitching the mats or is interesting. Uh, I think baseball right now has got a little momentum. And be interested see how that plays into this labor situation. I'm going to get through the season. But, uh, I think baseball really, you know, have great world series.
As you know, uh, you know, they had 11 million walks to Venezuela.
U.S.A. game a couple weeks ago. So I think baseball right now is in a good place. I, and this, the game is quicker. Uh, I, I give them a lot of credit now. It's going to go in and out of the clouds.
Because you got the masters, the NBA, and all that. So people got to figure it out and it gets into that long season. But I think baseball's got a little juice right now. I really do. All right.
Are you going to sound this way this afternoon? It's a good point. I do have Mick Cronin on. I think you had him on this week. I, good job with his.
Oh, I heard that.
Uh, I got Cronin on because he played all four teams.
So I thought that'd be a good spot.
He's funny. So I have some juice. You know how it works, Danny. At our age.
“You know, when my first kid was born, I took two days off.”
Now you get six months off. Um, they. Uh, so from that standpoint, you know, you got to play hurt. So sometimes you got to dig through it and get through three hours. You've done it for how long now?
35, 38, 40 years. 40 years. Yeah. 40 years. 40 years.
Yeah. TV and radio. Yeah. It's pretty good. Yeah.
Maybe we should do a show together one time. You know what? Did you announce you retirement yet, by the way? Yes. Well, what, what, what is that going to be?
The Super Bowl in Atlanta. So you got to the year and a half to go. Yeah. All right. Let's make a deal.
Okay. Okay. That's a long way off. Treats. Even half.
But some time. And the next 18 months. I'll come where you are. And I'll close with you. Okay.
And you're come to serious. And you're co-host with me. All right. You can just go to your house. I do that three days a week.
“I don't know if you want to sit on my third floor and listen to my wife.”
You know, Bob, wait. But you can. But you want to we do that. All right. I'll go one day where you might be.
And if you want to do it in a bigger band, we can do it in a big event. I do it in a Super Bowl. You want to do it something like that. We can do it. You picked a time.
Hab Todd Fritz take care of it. Where I will do one the whole show. Okay. Not 10 minutes. Yeah.
The whole show. And you come to me.
And we do me first because it's your show.
And you are retiring. So we'll do me first. And then I'll go do you. How's that? When are you retiring?
That's a good question. How are you? You're a little older, right? On 70 in May. May what?
15th. Okay. My wife, my mother's May 9. I think, see, so you're going to be 70. So you're going to retire.
You're going to be 71. 71. Yeah. Almost 72. 72.
Yeah. I won't be too far behind you. You can announce it right now. No. No.
Are you going to go travel the world? I'd like to maybe live in Italy for a while. Okay. My wife's Italian. Are you going to go cold turkey on sports?
Are you going to go cold turkey on sports? Are you going to go cold turkey on sports? Are you going to go cold turkey on sports? Or you should follow it carefully? I think I'll be a casual fan probably.
Casual. Yeah. I may get into soccer. Chris. If you go to Italy.
Yeah. So you might, when you say live in Italy, talking about like for six months. Yeah. Maybe six months. Yeah.
Something like that.
“Do you have a second location where you can live now out of the cold weather or not?”
No. Will you do that? No. Oh, really? That'd be Italy.
Wow. Yeah. Have you thought about it? I might use sports radio in Italy. Can you speak Italian?
Danny and the meatballs. Bring your whole crew. Bring your whole crew. All right. But we have a lot of time to reminisce about your career.
We're going to do that. One each. All right. My promise. Okay.
See you there. Thank you. I'm going to go to Chris for Mad Dog Russo. Mad Dog Unleashed. Weekdays at three Eastern.
And I tried to tune in. I don't listen to sports talk.
I'll watch first things first with Nick Wright.
Usually I'll listen to Colin with just how when he starts his show to see who he has on. Rich Eisen occasionally. I'll just check in to see if he's on a show. And then Mad Dog and the afternoon for a little while. But yeah, maybe I end up in Italy doing sports talk over there.
All right. Let me take a break. I'll get some phone calls here. We're back after this. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk line up in the nation.

The story of the sports was consequential, driver strike.
We have one man who upon hearing that he was going to be fired, freaked out,
“and apparently climbed out the window of the bathroom.”
And was Daniel Ricard was a listry of F-1 career, a success story, a cautionary tail, or some combination of both. He started getting all of this attention. And he may be started to think, "I'm bigger than this. I'm better."
And plenty of other mishab scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent, dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the iHard Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Laurie Siegel, a longtime tech journalist,

Obviously, you kind of see overwhelming favorite in this tournament. But I, the honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to you can, and that right after that would be Texas. S&C is so deep and so thick and just about everything, I really is annoying.
So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU. Only once I could possibly upset you, Khan. On flagrant, if any were giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments, the conversations everyone's having, so whether you're bracket is busted,

Have everybody in the chambers of dogs, a shocking public murder. A scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. Those are shots, get down. A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time. I still have a weapon. And I could shoot you.

Good morning. I've got a pretty funny story about an autograph that my wife got from Sandy co-facts, which was almost an impossible thing to do. My father-in-law in late 50's, took her to a doctor's game. And Sandy was pitching. She's between 8 and 11.
And as they're walking out of the ballpark, they walk by where the cars come out with the players. And as she's walking by, Sandy's car comes by and has to stop because of traffic. She runs over and I think it was a convertible or window was rolled down.
She asked, "Can I have your autograph?
And he says, "No."
“So my wife, heart-headed, as she is, runs in front of the car, puts her hands on the front and won't let him drive.”
Until he's left her come back and actually gives her a ball, signs it,
and it's a ball that the other players actually sign as well. Well, thank you for sharing that. Somebody sent me a Sandy co-facts autograph baseball, but I don't know if it's real or not. Somebody also sent me a two-peat rose autograph baseballs, which I know those are real. Somebody sent me a Hank Aaron autograph baseball.
I don't know if that one's real, but the Sandy co-facts one, that would be rare if it's real. Yes, Todd. And the P-Rose, one of the balls said, "Tip the overs." So you know what I had to do. No, he would write, "I bet on baseball." They're baseballs out there that Pete autographed.
And he was like, "I already got punished. What are you going to do?" "I bet on baseball." Yes, so I mean, I just saw the Sandy co-facts ball. It's in the back of the man cave and then the Hank Aaron won as well. Yes, Todd.
Based on that story, I would question the authenticity too. It's like he was at a big rush to sign anything.
No, you know, Bill Russell never did.
Bill Russell famously never signed an autograph. Even for teammates, there's a story that one of his teammates asked for an autograph.
“I think Satch Sanders and he wouldn't sign.”
He just, he didn't believe in signing autographs. As I said, because back then there was no eBay or anything like that. It wasn't like you're just going to sell it online. Back then there weren't a bit of reason to not sign something. Final hour on the way, Lewis Riddick, he was at Fernando Mendoza's Pro Day.
What's he think of the Raiders adding Kirk cousins? More of your phone calls as well. Still waiting to get an update on Luca Donchich. I believe the MRI and his hamstring won't be until Monday. But he looked pretty banged up yesterday, final hour in this meet Friday right ahead.
