like 10 days, 11 days away from Labor Day. It'll be fall. It'll be back to school. You'll be wearing sweaters. You'll be singing old school songs. It's going to be fantastic. And you know what happened this week, Riley? The big thing. The big transition happened this week. Do you know what it was, Minna? Maybe it's my local grocery store putting their Halloween candy out. Very close. Very close. And that's a good guess, Minna. Mm, a transition.
It may have been last week. It was this week or last week. No, was there cool enough a little bit?
“That's what a boring choice. But yes, it's true. No Starbucks introduced pumpkin spice latte.”
That's why I say that. Is that your pumpkin spice latte? No. I refuse to indulge in any pumpkin spice until September.
I refuse to have indulge in any pumpkin spice until I dead and I come back as a tiger in the jungler or something. I mean, I'm just not at that. It's disgusting. Who would eat? I mean, folks, you and I were. It's good. I love I'm drinking pumpkin spice now. Like I'm all in on as early as possible. I just don't want to go to Starbucks because it's disgusting. Yes, but pumpkin spice, I'm all in for. Gen Z is soft. I'm a firm believer in segmenting the seasons.
So it has to be September and onward is is when it's pumpkin spice season. I think if it's good, it's good. Play your Christmas decorations out in the middle of June. Bad. My Christmas decorations can only go out after Thanksgiving and that's the only acceptable time. And what about singing Christmas carols after Thanksgiving? But they after Thanksgiving,
“it's the Christmas season. And I think if it makes you happy, sing it right now.”
Okay, I got fit. You know, Riley, I think Minnesota's conducting a very quiet campaign for public approval behind you know, and she's like, she's campaigning. She's trying to offer platform. She's like, vote for me. I'm not Riley. You know, it's a compelling platform too. Vote for me and we'll say Merry Christmas again. She might have my vote. Yeah. The minute Trump have the same thing. It's like, we're going to, they're both going to save Christmas.
I'm glad the war on Christmas finally over. Yeah, I really, really, really glad about that.
Yeah. All right. It's not Christmas yet. It's time for some news. Well, I was just beating around the bush. I don't want to get to my first depressing story of the day.
“A surge in immigration enforcement has driven ICE arrests to record highs, sweeping up thousands of”
non-criminal immigrants, including individuals pursuing legal claims or married to U.S. citizens. Field by increased hiring, local law enforcement partnerships and expanded detention facilities. The administration is moving closer to its target of 2,000 in daily arrests. DHS officials maintain that the ramp of efforts for field promises to deport immigration violators, even as less than 4% of recent arrestees had passed violent criminal convictions.
What they're not the worst of the worst. I was told they were the worst of the worst. I mean, the president locked. I'm glad you're sitting down for this because. Yeah, it's a war. What a shock. What a shock. This is a despicable chapter in our history. But one of the reasons they're ramping it all up is that they got here via a lot. And the lie was that prior administrations didn't do anything about this. The Obama administration still remains the leader in deportations.
And it may be the Trump ends up higher. But, you know, they had to ramp up to get the Biden administration into the lot of deportation. None as lawlessly as these guys. None as cruelly as these guys. None designed to scare people away. None in conjunction with crazy immigration policies about visas and keeping people out of our schools. And, you know, kicking the best minds out of America, which is intellectual suicide, as we said yesterday. But nonetheless, the past administrations have
done this as well. We need immigration reform in the United States. We need new laws. We need pathways to citizenship. We need pathways to working here securely because people will not believe

to help our societies grow. I was reading a very sad story the other day about some old,
“ill people in Florida who aren't being cared for any longer because the whole community of those”
carried for them were Haitians. And the Haitians have been sent back to Haiti or told they didn't have temporary protected status. And it's, you know, the damage that this has done to the United States will be felt for decades in terms of who doesn't come here, who doesn't trust us, what we are no longer capable of doing. The ideas that happened someplace else that not here because of this, and the view that the United States is a racist nation, which, you know,
obviously, on some level for some people in some places, it is. Following the Supreme Court of
ruling, that prior legal challenges were premature, a federal judge has lifted the last remaining
injunction against President Trump's March 2026 executive order on mail and voting. While the move frees the administration to proceed, the postal services finalized implementation plan has excluded voter eligibility enforcement, focusing instead on enforcing ballot design standards and barcode tracking. Despite these scaleback measures, a coalition of 25 states has already filed a new lawsuit and federal court to block the postal services updated guidelines. If you're enjoying

Yeah, and the postal service issuing those guidelines means that the lawsuit is no longer premature, which was the reason that procedurally they were unable to proceed with the last lawsuit. So it is quite possible that this lawsuit will succeed because these measures are clearly designed to give the role
of federal government a role in elections which it does not have for the Constitution and to suppress voter turnout. So will the courts do the right thing here? Well, you know, you know, folks, betting on the courts to do the right thing is not a very smart, calcium strategy, and I know Riley spends all day playing prediction markets. So I'm just telling you, Riley, don't bet on the Supreme Court to do the right thing. I'll keep that in mind, as I
waste my next paycheck on calcium. That's not what our DSR strategists would advise. That's not
“salted. Yeah, I think you could get like your chatbot to do your investing for you. Some people do that,”
and one of the strategies could be just betting against the Supreme Court doing the right thing. Not yet. Well, there even be any profit from that, though, because I feel like everybody's already betting on that. That must be a way to make money off of it. You could make money off anything if you're a rich capitalist in America. That's the American dream, true. It is, it is the American dream. Oh, God, it's good to be an American. Oh, say, can you see, what's your next? Well, I've got
another another story that will fill us with civic pride. A Pentagon review of U.S. troop deployments in Europe will generate multiple options for defense secretary, Pete Huggseth by November 6th, evaluating factors such as allied defense spending, overflight rights, and support for U.S. priorities, like the conflict with Iran. The process has fueled deep concern among NATO allies who fear significant force reductions and potential retaliation against countries perceived as a non-cooperative
by the administration. Despite European skepticism that a drawdown is already predetermined, Pentagon officials maintain that the review considers a full spectrum of options to transition toward allies, taking the lead in their own defense, which is a very rosy way of putting it.
It sure is. Trump's been wanting to do this since he got into office. He's always been a
NATO skeptic. He has never understood what an alliance is for. He has never understood

obstacle between, say, Russia and ourselves. But he doesn't get it. It's clearly not going to get
through the reinforced concrete that is surrounds his whatever remains of his cerebral cortex.
“And so, we are stuck with this. And do I expect that there will be true productions in Europe?”
Yes. Do I expect there will be true productions in South Korea, in the Asia Pacific region? Possibly. Do I expect that this will make us weaker and serve the needs of our allies? Yeah, I do. And those people in Europe who think this isn't coming, they're just not reading the root. And if you want one last clue, it's issuing these things the day after the election.
In other words, they know that there will be a backlash. They don't want to have this discussion right now.
They are going to move into a mode, folks. And buckle up for this one, but they're going to move into a mode where they don't really care about the politics and things anymore. The last two
“years is going to be scorched up because Trump is not up for real action. And you may think he cares”
about his legacy. He's an narcissist. And he leaves the White House. The White House ceases to exist. His only fear is future prosecution. And he is trying to double down on the scorched earth policy in ways that can protect him from that. But could be a very bumpy ride. Even if
the Democrats and perhaps particularly if the Democrats do well in November.
Emergency authorities confirmed that at least 358 people have died and over 1,300 men missing following a massive flash flood triggered by a glacial landslide along the Nepal to bet border. In response to the growing crisis, search and rescue operations are continuing around the clock. But the U.S. State Department deploying a disaster response advisor and providing $500,000 an emergency aid to assist impacted communities. The international effort involves tracking down
hundreds of stranded foreign tourists, including dozens of missing Americans who were traveling through the area. Yeah, look, the event is clearly a tragedy. And you may be in the urge to these things happening around the world that every also often these tragedies happen. But there is a deeper story here. And that is the glacial landslide was almost certainly caused by climate change. And these are the kind of things. It's not that they haven't happened in the past.
It's that in our current environment as the climate gets worse. And as countries like the United States make it worse with policies that reject science, there will be more of these things. There will be more disasters. And they'll deny that it has anything to do with science because they don't understand science and because science is a threat to their philosophy of cultivating
“ignorance, because only ignorant people could possibly support them. But you need to see these”
things for what they are. There are failure of global public policy with regard to energy, failure of global public policy with regard to the environment, a failure of planning and, you know, some other places in the world will get this right to better be better prepared come up with ways to ameliorate deteriorating situations. But for the next couple years, the United States won't because we are living in a bubble of stupidity where the people who are in charge of the United
States government are identified, derive their identities from ignorance, denial, and a rejection of hundreds of years of scientific progress. Well, and that's your. All right, here we are.
