Hello and welcome to the DSR daily.

Minestime. We're watching what's going on in the world from Ankara all the way over here to

the United States of America to Iran. And I gotta tell you guys, I'm just not encouraged. It's

not one of those mornings where the news is like, "Oh, everything's great." But we'll discover that as we go along. Why should I spoil it? No spoilers. Let everybody be surprised that the president's off his coconut. Who's going to start? Somebody start us off. Well, I want to ask before I start, how long has it been since all of the stories were great news of the day? -We haven't experienced that in a while. -Yeah, no, that's true. I don't know if it's ever been true.

But sometimes you don't feel that the stories quite have the apocalyptic through line. You know, like, oh, there's the lunatic running the country who controls the world's nuclear

biggest nuclear arsenal or second biggest nuclear arsenal. And he's at war with everybody and he has

no grip on reality, and, you know, et cetera, et cetera. And I don't know, it just makes a little darker for me than, oh, Obama's wearing a tan suit. You know what I'm saying? It's just kind of different.

-Well, it's funny you should mention the war that we're in because yes, that's still going on.

And that's where we're going to start today. -Right. The United States launched a massive wave of retaliatory air strikes targeting more than 80 Iranian military sites along the street of Hormuz, effectively shattering a recently negotiated

interim ceasefire. The extensive operation was paired with the Treasury Department revoking a key

license that had temporary allowed Iran to sell oil on the open market. While President Trump approved the strike from the NATO summit in Turkey, Iran immediately retaliated by firing drones and missiles at U.S. hosting bases threatening a return to all out war and driving up global oil

prices. -Yeah, but it's worse than that, isn't it, Mina? Have you been watching the President's

press conferences this morning? -Yeah. -Well, the President this morning said the ceasefire is over. And that's, you know, concerning, since the ceasefire was the end of the war. And so as soon as he did, oil prices went up a bunch, stock markets fell a bunch. And he said that the Iranian leadership were, and I just want to get this word right because it is diplomatic, we'll explain it to you after I use it. He said they were slime. He called them slime. It doesn't like to deal with them.

Somebody said, "Well, you bomb their boats." He said, "Well, normally I wouldn't tell you, but they can't stop." So, yeah, we're going to bomb their boats again. So, like, you know, to me, the interesting thing is that the President of the United States says that this war, which is a huge honking disaster, is starting up again and still U.S. media are not going, "Oh my God, the war is starting up again." The markets are reacting that way. But let's, let's dig a little deeper

about the consequences of this before we have a complete freak out. One of you guys has a story about the IMF report on the world economy, right? Who has that? I've got that one, and it's not good. And it's not good, but the why didn't you explain what's happening, and then explain why it's happening. Well, the IMF warns that the global economy will slow sharply. As conflicts involving Iran disrupt energy supply chains and drive global inflation up to 4.7%, the meat, at the same time,

overall growth is projected to drop to 3%. Though investments in AI and renewable energy have helped the world economy remain somewhat resilient against these shocks. But, considerable uncertainty persists due to the last story and renewed attacks in the straight and the death of the ceasefire darkened the economic outlook for major energy consuming nations like India and China. Yeah, so, okay, let me try to simplify this. There was a war we shouldn't have

started. It has kicked the global economy in its sensitive areas. The global economy is now

Reeling.

is only going to make the projections of the IMF on these issues worse. So, you know, this is not

an abstraction. This is a war that lives in your refrigerator and in the gas tank of your car,

and in the ability that you're going to have to pay for key expenses or keep a job or live your

life. It's not just that the president is not just that he is a terrible team of national security advisors around him. Not just that he is allowing BB Netanyahu to lead him around by the nose. It's that it has consequences. And one of the consequences is there is no easy solution,

because what Trump wants is unachievable. And another of the consequences is that the longer it

lasts, the more it hurts. And I would just underscore that the one thing that Riley said is propping up the economy, which is a AI boom, could well turn out to be an AI bubble. Not that AI is going to go away, but a lot of AI related stocks are overvalued. And if the air comes out of those

tires, we could have double economic calamity later in this year. And I think we need to take

that seriously. And so, yes, sure, it's funny when Trump says as he did during his remarks

that we have been tacked by 111 missiles from the Islamic Republic of Japan.

Spoiler alert, there is no Islamic Republic of Japan. But, you know, this is not just an unfit man in charge. It has consequences for hundreds of millions, for billions of people. And it's not headed in the right direction to stories down. Share me up. Go on, hit me with something great. I don't know about that because this is definitely not, this story is definitely not a sign and we're headed in the right direction. The US Department of Justice sent letters to election officials

in at least 14 states, including Michigan, Georgia and Arizona, warning that they could face

criminal prosecution if they knowingly allow non-citizens to register or vote in federal elections. The letters give states a tight five-day window to detail their compliance measures and form part of a broader Trump administration effort to scrutinize voter roles ahead of the 2026 midterms. Well, nonpartisan experts dismissed the letters as a politically motivated attempt to intimidate officials and apply myths of mass nonsense and voting. State administrators defended

their existing citizenship verification protocols and stated they would not be deterred by federal pressure. Hey, it's David and I hate to interrupt the podcast. We are grateful.

It's against the law for people who are not citizens about new selections.

It's always been against the law. Every state makes sure that it doesn't happen.

It doesn't happen. There's almost no voter fraud. There's almost no evidence of non-citizens voting. I mean, yeah, you've got people like Ken Paxon and Texas saying that they live one place and actually living someplace else. But that's a kind of voter fraud. That's called Republican voter fraud. But this is bullshit. And the real purpose of it is not to raise the alarm about a problem the country face. Real purpose is to have a pretext for the Justice Department

said, well, we don't trust what the state is doing. And we're going to seize the record. So we're

going to do an investigation or we're going to fiddle the results. It's all part of the fact

that they don't think they can win the upcoming elections fair and square. So they got a cheat.

You know, who cheats Donald Trump, cheats a golf, he cheats in his marriages, he cheats in business, he cheats in everything that he does, and he wants to cheat in this. And we got a buckle up. We got four months to go. And it is going to be cheat, aroma, cheetah polusa from the cheater in chief. Well, I've got another story from that NATO summit because the cheater in chief has thrown

it into disarray by declaring the ceasefire over as we mentioned, but also renewing a controversial

claims over Denmark's territory of Greenland condemning a lack of European support for the conflict with Iran, Trump labeled Spain a "terrible partner" and ordered a complete halt to U.S. trade

with Madrid after the country blocked the U.S. from using its airspace and military bases.

While NATO Secretary General Mark Ruta attempted to de-escalate tensions and praise defense spending increases, leaders from both Spain and Denmark firmly rejected Trump's demands and defended their national sovereignty. You know, there was a time that if the president of the United States said in public that the U.S. should take over Greenland, they would immediately hustle him off into a room, give him a shot of Thorazene or something, get the doctors in there and try to find a

way to make him comfortable as he dealt with his mental illness. This is crazy talk. Just like not trading with Spain, because Trump doesn't like him, is crazy talk. But at this summit, there was a ton of it. You know, he sat with the line-skinned and said that the war between Ukraine and Russia was like a couple of kids fighting and sometimes he just got to let him fight. As if there were moral covalency between what Russia was doing in Ukraine. He said, "Oh, I'm going to give, I'm

going to give Ukraine the ability to have a license to produce patriot missiles." He doesn't actually control that. He's not going to do that. It's complete BS. We've already talked about what he said about the war in Iran. His spats with other world leaders have continued throughout this, including a very awkward televised exchange with George Maloney who, you know, he warmed things up as we said yesterday, prior to this event by saying he would need a restraining order to keep him or her way for him.

She was not having it when they had their picture taken together and it's obvious for the world to say. This Trump trip to NATO has been a fiasco, a debacle, a diplomatic catastrophe. It has resulted in the resumption of a war, the weakening of a vital alliance. So the president of the United States offering up Kremlin talking points on Ukraine, trying to pressure Ukraine into a deal that Putin wants. He also, to Zelensky's face, said that he was a difficult guy to deal with.

He's got answers to questions wrong. He can't walk. He needs to be led around by the elbow, his hosts, including Erdogan, the Turkish leader, who he lifted sanctions on, despite not really having good reason to lift those sanctions. He's helping our enemies. He's weakening our allies. He's making the world a more dangerous place. And he's doing it every five

Minutes at this thing.

yeah, Trump boo, he's a little bit, he's a little bit out there. He's not a little bit out there,

folks. He is unfit to hold the office of president and having a lunatic in the office of the president

is causing mayhem around the world. And it's time people wake up and call it for what it is. I want to hear some leaders from the region stand up, you know, Mark Ruta, the head of data, he like pets, Trump, and he thinks he can somehow control him into calmness, you know, but

the reality is it's like given a bunch of bananas to a rabid baboon, you might distract the rabid

baboon for a minute as he eats the bananas, but after he eats the bananas, he's still a rabid baboon. You can't reason with a rabid baboon. He's going to be irrational. He's going to do whatever impulse crosses his brain. There is not going to be a thought process where he weighs the rationality of what he does or thinks gee, that guy Mark Ruta was a nice guy and he really

deserves to have a kind of more stable relationship. The president of the United States is a rabid

baboon. Hello, world. Okay, we're 10 years into this. Wake up. There is no rational path to

dealing with that. And our last story for today is kind of... It's protest from the baboon association

of America. How dare you compare baboons to Donald Trump? Go on. I'm sure we'll get comments. I'm sure we'll get comments like that, like unfair to baboons. Shut up! Okay. Well, that's actually not our last story for today, although I'll consider it for tomorrow. You have what? I promise. I promise. They're going to be pro baboon texts that you get as a result of all of this. But go on. And we'll cover it all right here on the

DSR and the baboon daily. Welcome to the baboon daily with our chief baboon correspondent, Riley Fessor. Well, our actual real last story for today is kind of an accumulation of all of the other stories we've covered today. The White House launched a promotional initiative on social media highlighting the freedom fuel network, a new chain of 25 gas stations in the Greater Philadelphia area, selling fuel for a discounted $3.47 a gallon. The rollout timed as a gift ahead of America's

250th birthday aims to ease voter concerns over high pump costs that peaked nearly five gallons in May due to the US Iran War. While the administration released promotional videos of customers thanking President Trump for the savings, critics have dismissed the heavily branded $3.47 sent price stations as subsidized political stunts ahead of the November midterm election. I wonder why they would dismiss them as subsidized political stunts, except maybe because

their subsidized political stunts, their super transparent. They won't really help anybody. They will just cost the government millions of dollars. They could be better spent on things that were not expressly for the support of Donald Trump and his political party. It is a criminal waste of US money. For those of you out there who are living in the Philadelphia area, thinking, "Oh, man, I better go over there and get the $4.00 or $3.00 of savings per tank

that this is going to get me." It's underestimating your intelligence to think that you will fall for this or you will fall for the ad saying, "Thank you, President Trump." But it's like the other day Trump announced that 500,000 American babies were going to get a Trump account with a $1,000 in it.

Who are the 500,000 babies? Will that ever happen? Will they ever get such an account?

Or is it just bullshit? Election year bullshit. I know which I think it is. Riley, do you have any sense, whether it's true in something benefiting America or bullshit? This is not a leading question. You can answer it either way.

The answer with this administration is almost always bullshit, if not always.

I might be generous with almost always. Well, you are being a little generous, but I'm glad you still have been open mind. Well, look, that's it. That's it for today. Mayhem at NATO, mayhem in the Persian Gulf, global economy collapsing.

The government offering stupid Band-Aids to play Kate the least intelligent m...

populist. Or, as we like to call it, here in America, Wednesday. In early July, we've got an

episode of Deep State Radio coming up today. We've got words matter coming up tomorrow. We've got

so a consciousness later in the week. We didn't need to know yesterday. We've got other things coming

your way. So don't miss everything here on the DSR network and get other people out there to

subscribe to what we're doing on all of the platforms that you can subscribe with. It's upstack or

YouTube or anywhere else because we could use the support because we're independent media. And that

means we depend on you to allow us to do what we're doing. Until later, this is the Babylon broadcasting company signing up.
