Hello and welcome to the DSR Daily, a place where we go over some of the big ...
and news from around the world, try to make sense of it, or at least make fun of it, or
“see something interesting in it that you won't see someplace else, but what we don't”
try to do is just repeat what you heard and everywhere else. That's why it's worth coming here. I'm David Rothkuff, I'm one of those, and it's my pleasure to introduce you to your other two hosts, Riley Fessler and Minestide. Take a bow, Riley Fessler and Minestide.
I bowed. Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah, I know that they're out there, and they're more than every day now that we're securely located on Substack and YouTube and places people can actually go to find them and get
our other stuff. It's heavy. It's heavy days here at the DSR network, but let's start out with a story from somewhere in the world, and I'll feel a little bit of that high quality analysis that you showed up for.
Well, I have a very glowing report, which I'm not sure I agree with, but I'm just before the news. Where'd you get it? I got it from NPR, actually. My God, you know, NPR isn't what it used to be.
Hey, I just want to be clear about that, but sure, go ahead, go ahead with your glowing report. Well, at the NATO summit, President Trump announced a major policy shift by granting Ukraine a license to locally manufacture patriot or defense systems to counter Russian missile
tax as allies pledged $80 billion in funding to Ukraine.
“Wait a second, does he work for the Rathion Corporation?”
I guess so. I mean, I don't know that either, but yeah, I don't know that he's in a position to offer a license, and in fact, he's not in a position to offer a license, so your story's wrong so far, but I'm going. Often communists for the government to take over private industry and other services
to other countries. Yeah, well, I am. That explains why you're drawn to it. You left me many. I keep going.
Despite the initial friction regarding Greenland and financial contributions, which I would say is more than initial friction, I'd say was actually the last of the whole time. It's last year. It's been a couple of years so far, but yeah, let's keep going. NATO leaders projected unity by highlighting massive defense spending increases to satisfy
U.S. demands. Additionally, the administration announced plans to lift serious designation as a state sponsor of terrorism on another note. I'd another note of premature policy change.
“Hey, you know what I think about this report, Riley, is that it's crap, but I know you”
meant it in the best possible way and taking it from NPR, which seems like a semi-credible source, but let's look at it in a little bit more depth.
First of all, they always try to put a face on these things that makes it look like something
good. Don't they decide it at this NATO summit that it's not to do any more NATO summit? Because it ends up being this pissing match between this lunatic American president and the Europeans who are just trying to get along, trying to get things done, and the whole notion, you know, Trump at the end said, "Well, we had a lot of unification in the meeting.
It was beautiful. All that unification." Now, I'm not going to get into the semantic problem that I have with his misuse of the word unification, but frankly, it was amazing that he even came up with a word that was remotely close to what he meant, because he was having some problems, as we pointed
at yesterday, he said we had been attacked recently by the Islamic Republic of Japan. He was getting everything wrong. He couldn't walk with that assistance from Erdogan, who himself couldn't walk with that assistance. It was just a mess.
It was not anything beautiful. It's rate the on thing. Well, sure. It'd be great if Ukraine could produce the missiles. But what did it really mean?
It meant the US didn't have any more patriot missiles to give right now when they needed it, and as Philips O'Brien pointed out in blue sky, and as we discussed yesterday in Deep State radio, what it likely means is that it'll be a couple of years before Ukraine has anything like access to patriot missile batteries that it needs. In fact, it was likely to be more than a couple of years.
It's assuming that Raytheon would go along with this licensing agreement, just to get
A factory up and running with all of the various requirements to get there.
Probably taking a couple of years just to start building the factory.
This is not a gift to Ukraine.
“In fact, this is the way of covering up that we've used up a lot of our patriot batteries,”
and in fact, a lot of our ammunition on an illegal and unnecessary warning run. We don't have them for ourselves. We can't give them to our allies and Trump doesn't want to give them to Ukraine, which means in the end that Ukraine's going to have to go on, do what it's done, which is build its own industries, build its own technologies, and in fact, it's doing a pretty darn good
job of that. It's kind of the leading innovator in the area of drone warfare because it had to be in order to survive.
But the notion that there was actually unification going on here is belied by the fact
that the Italians and the Spanish and others took shots at Trump, veiled shots, not so veiled shots in the wake of his attacks on them. And a lot of what was agreed to here is not really what it appears to be. It's not just Europe's spending more on defense, but they're doing is spending more on defense by European defense contractors to make them less dependent on the United States
that they see as profoundly erratic. And look, if they see Trump, you know, you're a world leader, you're sitting in a room, Trump is there, he can barely stay away, he falls asleep, he can barely stand up. He can't recover the right word that he needs to speak.
He attacks everybody randomly, he's irrational, he's erratic, he's 80 years old,
and he's got two and a half more years in office.
“What do you think, what do you think, if you're a European?”
What do you think the next couple of years are going to be like? Not good, particularly since among the other things he did, this meeting was spew cremland talking points. So if you're like reading the kind of stuff that Riley just regurgitated for you, stop, think, analyze, if you want an analysis that's really good, go watch deep state radio, because
we had on it, general mark hurtling, he used to command the U.S. Army in Europe, and we had on it, Evo Dalder, who used to be the U.S. ambassador to NATO, and we had on it, Ed Lewis of the Financial Times, and I'm going to get better expertise than that. That's not the conclusion that they came to, and I also wrote a piece for the Daily Beast on this, that you can go find there as well, because I sort of summarized what happened, and
that was not my conclusion, and for those of you who are deep state radio fans, in the piece, I used the Rabbit Baboon analogy that I used here yesterday in Deep State Radio, so you'll feel all connected and fuzzy, because you know, where the Rabbit Baboon analogy comes from, speaking of Rabbit Baboons. No, let's our next story, Mita.
Well, it's less of a glowing reveal, and maybe it's more true. Maynard Democratic Senate not- Wait, this is good. Graham. This is good.
This is good news. Good news, not a glowing reveal. Yeah, that's true. Okay. Officially suspended his campaign last night through an 11 minutes social media video, fiercely
denying a recent sexual assault allegation by an ex-girlfriend, while framing his exit as it take down by the political establishment. Platner said him withdraw, which follows a month-long string of controversies, inject severe
“chaos into the Democrats' crucial national battle to flip the seat held by Senator Susan Collins.”
Senate Democratic Leaders now have until July 27th to navigate internal blocking and organize a nominating convention to select a replacement for no member's material election. journalism we can do. So we rely on you, we are grateful, join us on Substack. Thanks. Look, this is great news, there's nothing bad about it, getting rid of Platner as a candidate was a great thing.
We've been calling for getting rid of Platner as a candidate for months. You know why? Well, because we can read the little subtle signs that suggest a candidacy is not going well, like having a Nazi tattoo, like not renouncing it for most of your life, like having history of really offensive posts on social media, like having women come out of the woodwork
to say that you abused them, like not being able to handle these things, as an honest person wood, like coming across like a bullshitter and a bully, who's completely unsuited to the Senate. If you want to go do public service, let him try and run for office, you know, he could be the mayor of ungonquid main or something like that.
But honestly, he's a sex abuser.
“I believe the women, I don't think you should have any job anywhere, including dog catcher.”
And while he said in his 11-minute address that he blamed it all on the party establishment and stuff like that, this was not about that. This was about him. I'm no fan of the party establishment, but I am less of a fan of a guy like him who can't own his own errors of judgment in his life, and he's made many, and decides to try to
take a divisive stand to make it less likely that the Democrats hold their act together, that makes it less likely that his supporters will support the next candidate, that makes it more likely that Susan Collins will win. It was a disgraceful display from a disgraceful person, turned the page, the state of main Democratic Party now has like 18, 19 days to come up with a candidate, they're going
to do it through a convention, they'll be hundreds of Democrats that have gotten together, that's plenty of time. Remember, Susan Collins, the Republican, is a terrible candidate. She is responsible for the end of Rovyway. She is responsible for the ascendancy of people like Justice Kavanaugh.
She is a regular Republican vote. She is not an independent vote. She is not the moderate she portrays herself to be. Find us, somebody with some vibrance, somebody who can get the electorate and main excited. Somebody who speaks like a person from Maine, and you'll be here, and it's real important
because there are 11 races that can swing in the Senate.
“We need to win eight or nine of them, and I think it's possible that we do, but it's going”
to be much harder if we don't win in Maine, so this is a good development that can lead to good things, and also we should say to Mr. Platner, good riddance. Well, the U.S. military launched and expanded round of air strikes against Iran's coastal infrastructure in the state of Hormuz, following recent attacks on commercial shipping. And response Iran conducted its second day of missile and drone strikes against Kuwait
and Bahrain, both of which host American military bases. It's follows President Trump's declaration that the interim ceasefire with Iran is officially over heavily damaging prospects for turning a June memorandum of understanding into a permanent peace agreement. As pointed out, on the deep state radio yesterday, and again, I encourage you to go listen
to that, there was never a peace agreement.
The MOU was an agreement to talk about having an agreement.
The big issues were never resolved, and it was always expected by experts tha...
is exactly where we ended up, but I would encourage you to ask yourself, when Trump has
“a tantrum and says we're going to blow up more bits of Iran, what's being achieved?”
How are we getting closer to a positive outcome? I think this war has demonstrated that the United States cannot bomb Iran into submission. The United States doesn't hold all the cards. In fact, this war has demonstrated that Iran has strategic cards that it can play and tactical cards that it can play that give it leverage.
When the U.S. attacks Iran, Iran attacks American allies throughout the region. And you mentioned a couple that were also a bunch of attacks on a Jordanian air base. So that puts pressure on the U.S., it destabilizes the region, and it reduces the number of countries that are committed to supporting the United States. Iran has the ability to go, and with very little effort, divert, distract, block traffic
in the straight-of-home moves.
Right now has control, the reality is this.
“This peace agreement will not come to pass until the United States realizes it's not”
going to get a better deal than the JCPOA. It's not going to have free flow of traffic through the straight-of-home moves as we once did. We are not going to get back to the status quo that existed on February 24th before this lunacy.
This illegal lunacy was undertaken by Donald Trump and baby Net Young. It's a fiasco, and it is getting worse every day, because the president is delusional and he is surrounded by a small coat of ray of advisers who are sick of ants, who won't stand up to him, or who when they do stand up to him and apparently a couple of them said, "Hey, don't do this attack.
He ignores them. It's bad news." They go off and do other things.
“Today, there is a story in the Washington Post that the State Department has wanted to hold”
a conference and invited ministers from around the world, because it wants to do a deep dive into the rising amount of extreme left-wing terrorism. Strangely enough, a lot of ministers are not going to that conference. Why? Because there isn't a rising wave of extreme left-wing terrorism.
This is just a mega-fantasy. It's a reminder when you look at policies like Iran, or when you look at actions like this in the State Department, then Marco Rubio, the Normie candidate to replace Donald Trump, who received an endorsement from one of the big billionaire donors from the Republican Party in just the past couple of days, can't grip it.
Marco Rubio is a tool. He is no character. He's responsible for some of the worst decisions of the Trump administration. He has blood on his hands. He's bad guy.
He used to be thought of as fairly sort of standard for the Senate, but he would do anything for power. And he's doing it right now by being a hatchet man for Donald Trump. So we got problems upon problems here. Well, the opposite of problems, I am the bearer of great news, apparently today.
So, you are, well, you should be. You know, the cheerful personality is opposed to the sourness, Riley Fessor.
And you know, it's nice that somebody finally recognizes that.
Yeah. Well, I'm sure you're getting, don't you get comments in our comments all the time. People say how refreshing your personality is. Every comment says, "Mina, we adore you. She should be running the DSR network and get rid of these weird folks who don't know
as much as you." That's down. I say, you're so right. Say, you say, "Thanks, Mom, but you use a fake name." Yeah.
Okay. What do you get? What do you got? Well, here is my good news for the day. Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered the immediate release of over $5
million, as something that has grown to roughly $5.8 million with interest, O2R EG and
Carroll following her successful 2023 sexual abuse and defamation trial again...
Trump.
“The ruling follows the U.S. Supreme Court's recent refusal to review Trump's appeal, which”
Carroll's legal team argued marked the definitive end of the line for the multi-year legal
battle. Within an hour of the disbursement order, Trump's attorney launched a notice of appeal to the second circuit court of appeals, mounting a last-ditch effort to keep the escrowed funds frozen while simultaneously petitioning the Supreme Court to reconsider its decision. And I think if I'm not mistaken, the second circuit has subsequently said go fuck off.
But you know, I think we need to stop here, because this case has a lot of significance. I know it's just $5 million, $5.8 million, and in the scheme of things when we're talking about billions or even trillions of dollars, sometimes that doesn't resonate.
And here's what happened, Donald Trump raped Gene EG and Carroll in a dressing room at
“Berger of Goodman many years ago, she stood up, said that's what happened.”
He said that is a lie and defaming him, and she said, okay, let's go to court. Let's present the evidence to a Jewer, it's not a criminal case, it's a civil case. A Jewerie in New York concluded that Donald Trump had committed the act, and therefore was liable, both for the damage done and for his defamation of her. The Jewerie decided, the president, was a sex abuser, and he then challenged it in court
after court, after court, up to the Supreme Court of the United States, and via our legal
system, Democratic and Republican judges, the Jewerie of his peers, everybody has concluded that Donald Trump is a sex abuser, and that he continues to abuse EG and Carroll by defaming her.
“And guess what, the White House response to all of this has been to delay the payment,”
to deny the fact of what has happened legally, and to continue to defamer and say that she's lying, which is going to lead to future lawsuits, and there's another lawsuit out there. And it is, this is not open for speculation, a jury in New York City weighed the evidence and said that Donald Trump is a sex abuser.
Now we know that he's been accused of sex abuse by a couple of dozen women. We know that there are others who have not come forward. We know that in the context of the Epstein case, he is accused of sexual abuse and threats under oath by somebody who was a teenage girl at the time, 13 years old, our legal system is sending us a message about how unfit, how repugnant, how dangerous a person Donald Trump is.
Now anybody who's been following Donald Trump for the past 40 years knows that's his reputation. Anybody who's been following Donald Trump knows that it's not just sexual sexual abuse. It's a bad business party, he doesn't pay people off, he uses bankruptcy to defend himself from having to meet his obligations, he's a fraudster, he's got problems with the tax law, he pay, you know, he is the worst conceivable character that we can imagine.
He makes the Graham Platner's of this world look like altar boys. Let's listen to what the legal system is saying. Let's not get caught up in the political back and forth or the press releases from the White House. This is a very significant case because it is a reminder not of what the debate around Donald Trump is, but of who Donald Trump is.
This is a bad man and anything that dresses it up is a distortion and we need, we, all of us who understand this and believe it, need to fight it, that's why we need to fight
For the release of the Epstein files and all the ones that have been covered ...
the president, that's why we need to fight for accountability across the board because
“there are other kinds of wrongs being committed that need to be brought out into the open.”
You'll like the bad man, bad things happen and it's time to stand up and call these things out for what they really are and all credit to E. Jean Carroll, who is a woman now in their 80s, who has carried this fight forward despite huge personal pressure around the cloth for years because she was committed to getting the truth out. Good for her.
Well I have some good news to finish as well.
Okay, trying to compete with men in Australia, trying to restore my image. A three judge panel has denied her a quest from the Kennedy Center's board to restore Donald
“Trump's name to the institution, but appeals an earlier ruling that declared the rebranding”
illegal. The judge has rejected the board's argument that removing the name would hinder fundraising, noting a lack of specific evidence proving that the institution was suffer a reprobable harm during the appeal process. It's ruling represents another setback in Trump's efforts to imprint his legacy on the nation's
capital, prompting opposition lawmakers to demand administration accept the decision and remove the tarps currently obscuring the facade. Yeah, like what are they waiting for?
“The court was pretty clear about this, what he did was clearly illegal, what the board”
did was clearly illegal, even when he backed the board, it's clearly illegal. The Congress named this place, only the Congress can change the name of this place. The building was built as a memorial to John F. Kennedy, not to Donald Trump, not something that he could go and pick up along the way as part of his crazed, demented vandalism spray, where he's trying to spray paint his graffiti, his name, on every institution in Washington,
trying to turn everything into his image, and wherever he goes, whatever he touches, it gets worse, whether it's gilding the oval office or digging a hole in the ground without permission and tearing down the east wing of the White House and trying to build a gilded
ballroom that, you know, most Americans will never benefit from that is really just a playground
for billionaires or what he's done in the reflecting pool now surrounded by fence after fence and unavailable to tourists, to report out today what he tried to do in a fountain, trying to improve the fountain and now the water in the fountain is running a brown. You know, he is the most egregious serial vandal that Washington DC has ever seen, stop the vandal take away his can of gilded spray paint and by all means use the law and
every possible tool we've got to restore the nation's capital so that when he is gone or shortly thereafter there is not a trace of this megalomaniac narcissists efforts to deface the entire capital city of the United States of America. Well guys, you've been uplifting with all of your good news, we've got more that everybody wants, we've got words matter with norm or in steam later today, super popular and you
know, join us for that, join us for Silcociousness tomorrow, join us for the need to know from earlier this week, join us for the DSR, join us for the daily blast from the new republic, join us at Substack, join us at YouTube, join us where you regularly get your podcast, become a member, support what we're doing and be here tomorrow because I'll be more of this nonsense, until then, thank you, Ministerine, thank you, Riley Fessler, thank
you, everybody, everywhere, bye-bye.
