Minister Stein. We're here to try to make some sense of what's going on. As we arrive at the middle of the week, it's Wednesday. We're halfway to Friday. That's good thing. It's positive.
Let's think positive and minute going to hit us with our first story. Yes, I have a bit of
“a madlib story to start us off this morning. Madlib, do we get to fill in the names?”
Yeah, it's a true story for story. I just thought keep a light. I love to use your own adventure. Okay. No, madlib because I couldn't have predicted a single next word that was going to prompt this hearing, but FBI director Cache Patel faced intense questioning during a fiery Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, where he defended a policy change allowing job applicants with past involvement and prostitution or bestiality to be considered. Are you only going to protect
victims of human trafficking from automatic disqualification? Okay. During the hearing, the Democrats
sharply criticized Patel as an incompetent appointee pointing to his travel, the firing of agents involved in investigations of Trump and his refusal to rule out sending agents to polling places
“on election day. Patel shot back at critics calling lawmakers frauds while insisting that his”
actions were necessary to purge political weaponization from the agency. I listen to some of this. I mean, you're right. It does. There is a kind of a madlib quality to it. There's still nobody has provided a good explanation of why they took being involved in bestiality,
off the list of disqualifying things, because you would think that was disqualifying. But he was saying,
well, we don't want to upset the, we don't want to rule out the victims of bestiality. Now, is this a thing? Are there people being forced to have sex with animals across America that I'm unaware of or around the world? He also then, when somebody raised a question about it, you know, and was talking about the victim said, yeah, because we have these great canine dogs.
“And I was like, no, wait a minute. Are we actually making this joke, Mr. FBI director?”
But of course, that's the least of it. I mean, it's weird. I mean, it's really, really weird, right? But he was also attacked for being drunk, not knowing what he is doing. He refused to say that he wouldn't send the FBI to polling places. He did say the FBI was coordinating with the HS on election related issues that's not heartening to people. And of course, when he was asked about, you know, why did you fire everybody involved in the Trump cases? You said, well, we're against the
weaponization. But of course, what they mean by being against weaponization is they're against the prosecution of people near Trump or Trump himself. But they're all for weaponizing and persecuting people who haven't committed any crimes who are Trump's opponents. It was a terrible performance. It was a reminder that we live in a police state. And it was a reminder that Trump is not interested in justice or competence, nor is Todd Blanche, because they put this
boom in charge of the federal Bureau of Investigation. Well, we have an update on the Kennedy Center story. The board voted it to immediately shutter the performing arts center due to structural and financial concerns, though Donald Trump stated renovations were remained paused until courts allow his name to be added to the facade. The closure vote, faulty federal judges ruling the blocked the board's attempt to place Trump's name on the building without congressional approval,
leading the administration to file an immediate appeal. Meanwhile, and ongoing legal challenge from representative Joyce Bady continues to contest the necessity of a fall to your closure, maintaining urgent repairs can proceed without shutting down the entire venue. That for some reason, this one really gets to me. I mean, it really really gets to be. There are wars and, you know, there's insanity with regarding, you know, vaccines and science and immigration
policy and attacking democracy. And I get all that. But there's something about this that is so ugly. On the one level you've got Donald Trump essentially going to a memorial that was set up
By the Congress to honor an assassinated president and saying, unless you all...
memorial about me, I'm shutting it down. I'm taken away the National Arts Center from the city and
“from the country unless I get some of that glory that I did not earn. It's like saying he wants”
the Washington Monument to be called the Trump Washington Monument or the Jefferson Memorial to be called the Trump Jefferson Memorial where he goes through Arlington cemetery and he writes the name Donald Trump on every grave stone of a metal of honor winner. It's sick. And when the courts stand up for the law because this is a memorial that was set up by the Congress and that only the Congress can change its name or its mission, he has a tantrum and representative Beti was on multiple shows
talking about how she witnessed a meltdown by the president as a result of all of this yesterday
that was incredibly unprofessional and shocking to her in which he attacked her and said she was dumb and said he would hold her responsible for people being injured inside the Kennedy Center. Let me tell you something about the Kennedy Center that is not covered in most of these stories. During the couple of years prior to the Trump presidency, they spent hundreds of millions of dollars upgrading the Kennedy Center. The Kennedy Center is not a wreck to the extent to which there
are things within the Kennedy Center that need maintenance beyond normal maintenance.
“I'm not sure I trust what's going on there. I think they're, you know, creating a narrative”
so that they haven't excused to shut it down because this is the sexual boy. This is the sexual boy saying, "Well, if you're not going to play my way, then I'm taking my ball and I'm going home." And if this is, you know, a burden to the city, if this undermines the arts in America, the careers of artists in America, the memorial to John F. Kennedy, he does not care because Donald Trump wants everything to be Donald Trump centering. Donald Trump is a toxic waste dump of bad human
character. And this, this sort of manifested in so many different ways. It's just, it's just an outrage. Are there other outrageous today that are bigger outrageous? Yes. But I live in Washington,
“D.C. and I've been to the Kennedy Center a lot and I value it and I value the memorial to John F. Kennedy”
that the Kennedy Center is and I find the behavior of the president and his spineless accolades in all of this to be absolutely nauseated. Well, I see your outrage and I raise you an outrage.
The Trump administration is preparing a $2.8 billion package to supply Israel with 40,000,
2000 pound bombs, marking the largest single sale of the highly destructive munition in recent years. Finance through US foreign military financing, the pending transaction has been informally submitted to Congress, setting up a major political test mid-growing domestic and bipartisan pushback over USA to Israel. The proposed sale comes despite heightened tensions between President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over ongoing military operations
in the region and stalled peace efforts. This is just evil. This is just an evil American leader collaborating with evil Israeli leaders to lead to the destruction of innocent people. These bombs were central to the destruction of Gaza. We should not be giving Israel any kind of aid. Frankly, it's a wealthy country. It doesn't need the aid. We shouldn't be giving the military assistance if they violate international law, which they do. There are laws on the book called
Lehi laws that say we cannot give military aid to countries that deny humanitarian aid into places that need it, or that violate international law. So it's illegal. The destruction in Gaza continues overnight, 20 people, perhaps more, killed as a building collapsed. Why were they killed with a building collapse because they were living in rubble? They were living in what is just remains of a building because they're trying to scrape together their lives. Are they getting medicine? Are
Are they getting much needed nutritional assistance?
the 2 million people who live in Gaza to restore their lives? No. Not only we not, we're on the
“other side. The Biden administration ruined its foreign policy record by supporting genocide in Gaza.”
The Trump administration has come in and said, "We'll see your support for the genocide and we will raise you." And it is also happening as the Israeli government is step-by-step dismantling the infrastructure of Palestinian control that remains within parts of the West Bank. Also in violation of international law. Also with the rest of the world saying no, we're not going to participate in this. We are choosing sides and just as with Whitkoff and Kushner lettering
up Putin and saying, "You, Mr. War criminal or the person, we are going to value visiting the most." Just as Trump saying, "We're not going to support South Korea and military exercises,
“we're going to rely on Trump's good relationship with Kim Jong-un." The United States in this”
particular case is siding with an evil regime that has committed genocide that continues to squeeze the region that has ministers out saying, "We're going to get all the Palestinians out, we're going to ethnically cleanse, we're going to take it all over." That is an obstacle to peace. And they're saying, "We're not only siding with you, but you need weapons to kill more of these innocent people, we'll provide them to you." We'll provide them to you even though we're running
out of our own munitions. We'll provide them to you as an aid package, even though you could easily afford it to pay for it. We'll provide them to you in violation of the law. It's despicable.

interest rate by a quarter percentage point to a range of 3.75% to 4% marking its first rate hike
in over three years driven primarily by storing energy costs linked to the U.S. War with Iran, this move aims to curb persistent inflation and restore long-term price stability. Following hawkish signals from a Fed at Chairman Kevin Oorsh, the higher borrowing costs will directly impact consumer and business loans, including credit cards, auto financing and mortgages. Yeah, I mean, this is bad news for people who want to lower cost financing.
It's also not what Trump expected when he made Kevin Oorsh the head of the Fed.
So why is Trump being relatively quiet about this? And, you know, there's always a possibility
of an outburst later today after the fact. It's because investors are fleeing U.S. bonds in the marketplace, and the Treasury Secretary is trying to buy them up to keep their sum demand for them. And this will be absolutely the wrong moment to lower interest rates. And I'm sure Scott Bessand has gone into the president and said, I know you don't want this, but we got to have this. Because there is an economic reality here that if all pressure is not, all types of pressure
are not utilized to support the dollar, economy, US treasuries, that there could be a collapse that would be hugely disruptive. With 49 days to go before the election or 48 days to go before the election, they are terrified of a market shock or of a major change to employment numbers or major
Change to price numbers.
is a sign that the president's war has pushed up prices as driven inflation and the Fed is saying,
“we now have to create policies to compensate for this insane illegal war.”
A new 34 country poll reveals growing global appetite for multilateral cooperation alongside a sharp decline in willingness to see either the US or China take leading roles in world affairs. A majority of respondents favored middle powers like Canada and Japan, while viewings of international bodies such as the UN and World Bank saw significant gains and trust. 61% of those surveyed back to international efforts to solve global problems without the
involvement of either Washington or Beijing. Concurrently European Commission President Ursula
von der Leyen proposed making Canada the European Union's first associate member to forge a broader
alliance for the future, centered on trade, defense, and democratic values, additionally stating in the state of the European Union address, this is a Europe that are able to defend itself than ever before. The United States is plummeting in its international standing.
“The United States is undermining the international system, which has been a key pillar of our”
strength, our alliances, international institutions that we help create international institutions that were dependent on us for their legitimacy, for their funding, for their support. Trump is trying to ruin all of that. Why? Because that's the Russian agenda. But the middle powers are stepping up. Karni has made speeches to that effect. The Europeans have made speeches to that effect. The fact that the Europeans are embracing Karni even as America
is going to economic war with Canada and insane, unjustifiable, self-defeating economic war. That's a sign that the middle powers of the world are saying, "Yeah, we're going to proceed and we are going to take on more responsibility." Trump will claim, "Yeah, it was all him because he pushed them to spend more." No. The reason they're spending more is that they don't trust the United States anymore. They don't see our alliances as functioning anymore. They realize that the
Russians or others may try to take advantage of the weakness caused by the retreat or the capitulation or the collaboration of the United States with the enemies of the West. And so watch this closely. This is a remaking of the international order with a smaller role for the US and while you may celebrate that and say, "Well, that's great. Less foreign aid,
“they can take care of themselves." That's what it means. It means less influence for the US.”
Do you think US spending a national security is going to go down? Then you haven't read the defense
budget, which has gone up by a third in the president's proposals. We're not saving money
by our position. We're wasting it on crazy projects. And the rest of the world is said, "We don't know one will ever be able to trust the United States again." Frankly, we don't know whether we want the US to have this role ever again and we're going to create new mechanisms that give more control to more countries. That's a good thing, I think, in the general scheme of having a more democratic world. It is not a good thing if you're the United States of America
and you want to have more influence. But Trump doesn't care. He doesn't care about our national security. He doesn't care about our influence. He doesn't care about our international standing. He doesn't care about our economy. He doesn't care about our environment. He doesn't care about our ability to do our indeed to maintain our technological leadership, to maintain our military leadership, and in fact, he's weakened every single one of those things. What Trump cares about is Trump
do leaders treat him well and he likes them and he'll deal with them. If they don't, he'll turn his back on them. Can he make some money off of it? There's a new Forbes estimate that he's now
worth something like $7 billion that between two and three billion has been made since he returned
to the presidency. It's the most outrageous period of corruption in US history and I study US history
I have to tell you all of US history has been corrupt to some degree.
people who are profited too much from American spending or American mistakes or American expansion.
There's never been anything like this. This is cleptocracy at a global league table leading
scale. That's who we have as the president of the United States and the world has discussed it.
“That's what this poll and every other poll that we've seen recently says. I hope the polls in”
November say the same thing. I hope the polls in November say America is ready for a change. The New York Times did a piece today on its op-ed page where it had a bunch of polling experts talk about what they expected and while all of them expected the Democrats to take the house and possibly a chance of the Senate, it's way, way closer than it has any reason to be. The worst,
“most corrupt, most incompetent, most demented, most unfit president in American history”
and he still has some base of support. A third of the American people may be maybe nearly 40%.
That's enough to maintain pretty strong position within the Congress and it's going to make the margins in this upcoming election real darn close. We'll track all that, but if you can do anything to help, now's the time. You can donate money. If you can volunteer, if you can put in time
