his hearing about the return, the humiliating return of Prince Harry and the Duchess of Despair and endless grievance to the UK. We've also got the latest on a Brad Pitt admission, a shocking, shocking admission in Esquire magazine that supersedes the admission that he's drinking again and that curiously has not been picked up upon by the mainstream media and we're going to talk about why.
What's in it for the mainstream media to avoid a headline that would deliver the thing
they need in their death rows.
Clicks, likes and virality, more unhaired and paneteer's death, more under-reported details that are really important to discuss that go not only to the circumstances that may have surrounded her premature death at age 36 last week, but the Hollywood cesspool in its entirety and we've got even more and then we've got really fun gossip as well.

“Hello, my friend, I'm Gigglin O'ay, I'm a giga-la and so you have to forgive me but he's got to be back.”
Oh my god, we love having you. Okay, there are so many stories but the story that blew everything out of the water last week. The ignominious return of Megan and Harry. We're going to take a look at Madame Tussaud's official Instagram account which marked this most humiliating occasion on Friday,
August 21st, so two days after the news broke, they positioned grim roll-on s...
their statues, their wax, effigies of Harry and Megan and what I love about this Rob is the shade.
“They didn't even put like a way rollers, let alone Ramoa, however you say, Ramoa?”
What do you, you know, we spoke to Lady C yesterday about what is the inciting event that is sending these two back to a country they said they could never return to for fear of their very lives and the lives and safety of their two children. She says there are at least three things at work. Harry's visa may not be renewed and in fact he could be facing arrest and federal charges for lying on his visa application. There of course his Harry's alleged reported other woman
and thirdly their finances, they are out of money and a judge in the UK has ordered Harry and his co-clamence to pay $13 million first installment, $13 million by this Friday and I don't think they've
got it. They don't have it. Never better against Lady C but first of all, Madame Tussaud's,
I think it's just so delicious. It's so, so shady, it's so, so funny. They've become a national joke, like they've literally become a punchline which is never where you want to be and so, and they didn't have to say a word. No explanation, just two suitcases and it tells me the whole story. So, I tip my hat to Madame Tussaud's, I think it was a really, really brilliant. As far as they're going back, my report in, initially it was a little bit confusing. So I couldn't understand
why they were going and then variety in the Hollywood Reporter said that she'd got a job over there and and that sounded pretty solid to me. I know her ambition if they were shooting in a rack she would take the family there. Like she is just going to go and she doesn't get jobs with Guy Richie. She doesn't get the A list director. She doesn't get the classy, classy show. So that made sense and then I hit the phone and I spoke to my friends who work on the show and they were
like, Rob, there is no job job offer. The show has not been greenlit for season three. In fact, season two doesn't even start until two or three weeks. So I think all this is very clever,
Guy Richie getting PR for a show that debuting two weeks that I'd never even heard of. So once again,
Guy Richie, you win this round. So it's not the job. That was the most obvious and then I really
“had to dig deeper and I hear it's visa issues. That's what I'm hearing. It is really issues.”
Now is somebody who moved to America. I'm an American citizen, but I wasn't. And so I know the paperwork, the legal leaders. I know this process intimately because I had to do it. And in the beginning of my visa, my attorney said to me, have you ever been arrested? Have you ever had a drug arrest? Have you? And thankfully, I had not because if the answer was yes, he told me,
he'd tell me, go back to Britain. You're really getting in. It's has always been very,
very difficult to get into America legally. It's been very, I know. It costs me thousands of dollars, lawyers. You have to, you have to tick every box. And if you, if you try to put a square peg into a round hole, you get refused. And so Harry has caused himself such a problem because that autobiography of his admitted to drug use. Now if they look at his visa and that question's
“there, you have to fill it out. It's the same for him for Harry as it was for me and everybody else.”
If he lied on that visa, it's game over. And so I'm hearing they have real visa issues, concerns. And the last thing they want is an international scandal where he's literally kicked out of the country. Can you imagine if they went and arrested Harry and sent him back? It would just be so humiliating that I hear this is all about these are concerns. And they will try again, and they will, they will fill out more forms, but it's difficult. Getting into America legally is
really difficult. Rather, is your husband American or Britain? He is British. British, but we were not married. I came here before gay marriage was legal. So now it would be so easy. We're just gay marriage. It would be, it would be more cheesy. But when I came here, gay marriage wasn't recognized. And so I had to go through a work visa permit. So I had to prove that I had in the
Skill that American didn't have, I had a very specialized skill.
that is you take an add-out in a big newspaper, I think, the New York Times for four days. And you
notice, I can go through the ad section of the New York Times and circle all the green, the jobs that are not real jobs. They're just jobs advertising for visas. It's awful actually for people applying because you apply for these jobs that don't exist. And the way that you prove you have a skill that an American does not have is the people applying for the job cannot be qualified. So it was a very specific job that I was going for. And I was lucky enough and I have a background
“in music too. So I believe it or not, I can play the trumpet pretty well. So the job I was”
going to, so I will do it at the Christmas party. So the job I was applied for was a gossip columnist publicist who also happened to be a terrific trumpet player. Oh my god, this is not what it is. There's not good magic. What would you cook up for Harry? Yeah, to put his hand on, posting bread, building middle-aged prints who lives in his grandmother's house. Harry. I mean, these two are such. They cannot do anything right. They are so incompetent. Can you
imagine, he lies on his visa application, probably thinking, hey, I'm a prince of the blood who's going to give a shit. Then he publishes this memoir. It's a self-induced me fatal wound. Like you're open, you're saying, hey, I do these drugs of all kinds and you don't think, now they're like, it's like a fire sale over in Montesito. It's like a fire sale. Everything, they do wrong everything and it comes out of arrogance.
“When you don't believe this any consequence, when you believe you're above the law,”
you act the way that they act. And so I don't have a lot of sympathy here. You know, these are the rules. The rules should apply to everybody. When I was applying for my visa, I had a connection with El Gore, a friend of mine knew El Gore and I'd met El Gore. And so I thought I could put El Gore down as a reference on my green card on my, on my visa. And they warned me and they said, don't do that. You will red flag it. So I actually do think here
that Harris privilege, Harris position is going to work. Not against him, but it's not going to help him in the way it's helped him in every other aspect of his life. From getting a dinner reservation to passing a driving test to get it into a fancy college. If you're a Prince of England, you get all that stuff. It's just impossible that it's not going to happen. It's interesting because government forms a different government doesn't want to look like they're playing
favorites. They shouldn't. Governments don't want to look like they're skewering the system
for the rich and the powerful. And so actually Harris privilege here is a red flag. They don't
want to mess this up because the eyes are the world are going to be on this visa. And they want it to be as fair as possible. Harry that idea didn't think this through and has given them so much ammunition. It's his words. It's his memoir. He filled out the form. They've got him.
“I think this is going to be. I think the reason they are rushing back, they hate that place.”
She said she hates it. He despises it. They don't like the people. They don't like the food. They don't like the weather. None of that has changed more in. It's not like suddenly Britain group arm trees and became sunny. It's not like the food suddenly improved. Or the teeth forgive me Brits if you're listening. I've got British tea so I can say it. But not about improved. So what changed? They changed. And I think she's been dragged
to the kicking and screaming. This is about Harris visa. Oh, yes. And the reports that I've read say that Harry has been tipped off that he has until August 31st to Vamos before this gets serious. They know my lawyers knew all the dates. They did. Yeah. And he's not the first person to have ever gone for for this process. Hundreds of people, thousands of people, millions of people have gone through this process.
Immigration lawyers know their business. In the same way that you know your business and I know my business, they know the ins and outs. So they know the dates. And they know that this is not looking good. And they know they better at night because if they don't, he could be forcibly removed. Imagine that. It's kind of delicious. But imagine imagine it's better than metaphor of all metaphors. Get the fuck out. We've had it. Which to that point. Okay, this was in
the New York Times, which is amazing. And by the way, the New York Times is getting a little bit
nerveier in their approach. Not only did they publish this very unflattering piece about these two amongst many, but they left their comments on, which is incredible. Now, I'm going to paltrow just to set the table a little bit. She seems to have been shading Megan on Instagram over the weekend because there's been an invitation going around. That's when it's private
Invite for dinner.
she, she reposted this as if she's throwing as a private dinner for Megan of the robot horror movie
“Megan. And, you know, there are neighbors in Montesito for now anyway, which I thought that was”
pretty funny. The New York Times in ultra wealthy, the online head, Harry and Megan's California neighbors shrug as their idle ends. Those neighbors include not just Gwyneth of in Montesito, but Oprah, Roblo, Jeff Bridges, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom. This is my favorite part of the time's piece. Residence said that Harry and Megan were memorable. Less four their civic involvement, then for their security apparatus. And again, there are many heavy hitters up in Montesito,
billionaires who do not roll around like this with such a noxious look at me entitlement. The New York Times continues. The couple had little personal interaction with anyone in Montesito, but everyone up there knew their bodyguards, their dog walkers, their nannies, and their assistance on site in April. And picture this, picture this. The couple's black SUV pulled up abruptly at Little Mountain, a hip Montesito restaurant, and the Sussexes swat in with a security escort
past regular diners waiting for a table through the front door and into a private dining room. The actor Michael Keaton showed up on the same night. And the protection the couple often said was a quote unquote "necessary inconvenience, Rob. You know this, you've been doing it a long time. The higher the profile, the higher the threat risk, the less attention you want to draw to yourself. You don't just screech up in front of a hip, sophisticated restaurant, and sweeping
with your security detail as if you're the president of the fucking United States going, look at us, look at us worldwide privacy tour. Rob, you take it. It's not rages. It's really outrageous. You've hit the nail on the head, anybody that works with really big stars know that
their security is no joke. It exists, but you never see them. You never see them. When I's rolling
with Jennifer Lopez, you don't see her security guards. You don't see Alicia Keys's security jump on Jovey when I travel with John. He had the most discreet security. They're not these huge big men. They're actually normally quite skinny, short guys, maybe in sunglasses, but they blend in very, very well. The whole thing about great security is blending in. I'm one of the little tricks that these really posh restaurants do. I had dinner at the Red Rooster,
up in Harlem and Cindy Crawford was there. Oprah was there too, and they had security guards with them, but they were dressed like regular people, and they sat at one table on the left-hand side of both of the stuff. So they were there to parents, to jump up if anything was needed. But you wouldn't have known, if I hadn't known them through doing red carpets and being in the business, they just look like regular, regular patrons of them. And Rob, can you explain to the
troublemakers how important it is that a security detail of lethal force actually does look as non-descript as possible. Why the star? It's in their best interest to look as though they're
“just moving around normally. You have to do this because that's when dangerous strikes.”
Danger doesn't strike in a very public public way. It strikes in those very small intimate private moments. That's when the celebrities at their most vulnerable. You can start online in.
Yeah. Yeah. That's when security is at its best, and it's never 100% and so
I'm cautious to talk about people's security, but I think the big picture to take away is that the lie of the security, the more insecure the star, and it's not about their safety, their egos insecure. Diddy used to have a ridiculous amount of security. It was like an army. It was four SUVs of just huge guys. They looked like guys that came from Aladdin's lamp, like they were huge and a genius and like seven footers, shoulders from here that the stars that
mean business have really discrete security. And so this tells me this is all about Harry
“and Megan's ego. And it also tells me too, which is I think a really, really major point here,”
for a couple who talk and bitch and moan about security as much as they do, they actually don't have the security that is sophisticated enough to deal with a problem. If they want to make security there, issue in it clearly. Well, Harry, what Harry wants in Britain is not what he has in Montesito. The security that William and Kate have, you wouldn't even know they were there.
They're not these massive people screeching around the cars.
delicious. I read it four times. They're clearly subscribing to the dirt of what happened that the New York Times got it. They finally got it, but it tells me too, because the New York Times takes a long time before they'll take a punch. They just, it tells me where Harry and Megan are
“on the celebrity food chain. I think the New York Times would be softer to Kim Kardashian than they”
are now to Harry and Megan. Harry and Megan, they're brandy so tarnished that there's no downside now to telling the truth. There's no whatsoever. I tread carefully. I like to think I'm frotious and I'm brave, but you know, I tread carefully. And if somebody calls me in tears or
wants me to give him a break for a few weeks, I often often do. There's always an upside to that.
There's no upside to help him get this a six is anymore. No. It's your, you're so right about the New York Times turning and finally getting it and realizing the correct side to be on is William and Catherine. That is the only side to be on. The New York Post I wanted to ask you about this. How a big story this weekend about their return and what I, what I really highlighted from this one is that next year marks the 30th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana and you're
going to have both brothers. It seems in London to mark that and what happens. I mean, William surely cannot abide sharing a stage little on a country with Harry, but you know what what does one do? What would you advise if you were advising a Prince William? Do you exercise the other
brother? Do you have one brother? The future King, of course, going first, do the memorial, leave,
Harry lights, whatever he lights, how do you get around the optics of this? We have a preview of this. In the next few months, there's an event in London for one of Diana's charities and William will not be attending. He's going to not. He's Harry said he is. He's Harry, he's going to say, so I think the way that they're going to move forward with this and I actually think it's probably a smart way is just not to engage. He doesn't need to be standing at a grave side to be Princess
Diana's son. He doesn't need a backdrop of an island with a grave on to remind us of what happened. He doesn't need to go to a tunnel in Paris and layer reef there. He's Diana's son and so they both are and so he will let Harry and Meghan do the spectacle which will be vulgar and wrong and over the top and they will take a much more dignified approach. They will market, but also to remember all the trappings of the crown, they own. You can't just rock up and stand out
outside, stand within Buckingham Palace or at Windsor Castle and so they've got all the majesty of the pomp and the circumstance of the British royal family and state and government. So if there is an official event, it will be William's event, it will be Charles's event, nobody manages pomp and circumstance better than the Brits. They just know how to do this. They know how to put on a parade, they know how to put on a march and so depending on what the
king, what William decides, the question is not going to be what they do but how are they going to allow Harry into it. Now if they want it to be really tough, they could just cut him out. I've working on this story at the moment about working. I used to work for Princess Michael of Kent so I know this royal family. There's a lot of people on television and a lot of reporters
great ones talking about the royals but there's a lot of them too who have never even actually
met a royal. I worked for one. I got a paycheck from a royal member. I was in the conference rooms and the boardrooms and making decisions. I saw how the family works. What they're going to do is they play the long game. Harry and Meghan only see five ten minutes in the future. They play the
“here and the now. The royals play not next week but the next head or twig to years. That's how”
far ahead. They are looking, they plan that company, that family, like it's a major business. It is a business and so they're not looking for the easy hit. They know that when Harry and Meghan turn up, they're going to be on the cover of every paper. They know they're going to get away every hospital. They're going to get away every soup kitchen. They're going to be crying at Phantom of the Opera in London with camera crews. They're going to do all the touristy things.
They'll do all that. I'm told that the royals are going to just let them. Just let them do it, just let them and you have them now. Six months from now and five years from now will still be standing. The other thing too with these royals and we said earlier in the show is if you give them enough rope, they just can't help themselves. They mess everything up. The palace won't be there to
“clear up. That's what I've been told from my sources inside the palace is they're not going to help”
them. But maybe worse than that when things go wrong, they're not going to fix it.
Before we move on to another huge story that's really not getting the kind of...
person thought it would. What happens though, Rob, if you know we know that Charles and William
are at Lagerheads on this issue, if King Charles says there is no way we are going to do a public memorial for Diana's 30th, the anniversary of her death without including Harry. And Prince William is then on Prince William to either refuse to attend or attend as we will no doubt interpret correctly begrudgingly what then because Charles will not it seems take a real stand here. He says they're not going to come back as public royals and these two are already
telling the media. We're coming back as private royals plus yes. I think William is going to stand
“his grant here. I think William is going to say it was dad. You have to make a choice. And if you”
pick Harry so be it. But I don't think William is going to be bullied on this. I don't think
William is going to bat down on this. I think William thinks this is the beginning of his reign. I think they both know that the dad is ill and what William decides to do is going to be really telling and if he decides that he's going to bend the knee, he's going to reward the bad behavior then it sets him up for failure. He's not going to do it. I was told the recent meeting at High Grove happened two or three weeks ago. Charles desperately wanted William to come to that and
William said no. William said no. He did not go. Then meeting Charles had with Harry and then Megan. Yeah, you know the king I'm told from people close to William said come it will be a
wonderful image. The three of us together all making peace and William said no it will be a lie and
he did not go. In fact he was only about 20 minutes away. I looked at their schedules. He could have jumped in a car and been there in 20 minutes. They were both very close geographically that day and William said no. William now is not just thinking about himself and personal feelings and this isn't about vengeance or holding a grudge. He's thinking about the monarchy and he knows that his dad was too weak to make any real changes. William knows that his son, his grandson,
will be out of business if William doesn't set this ship straight now and he has two problems.
“He has his uncle Andrew and he has his brother and he's not going to back down on Eva and I think”
the world Britain will thank William for these really, really tough decisions. Diana's memorial, it's a big deal 30 years but she's dead. She doesn't need this to be remembered. If it's just a very simple day we will all stop and remember Diana. What William is concerned is not with the dead but with the living and then much more dangerous to William to his family. What they said about Kate, they implied that she was the racist that she was the one that asked
about Archie's skin terror. She enters. Megan went after her ruthlessly behind the scenes. Megan humiliated Kate to the point where Kate went to the cottage to apologize. Kate turned up with flowers. Megan didn't ever apologize to Kate and this has not happened since Megan has left to Kate at a long list of people who said she was difficult. I'd pay attention to it but she doesn't. In fact, the only person that Kate has ever had this difficult relationship is
“with Megan. Megan on the other hand, we have a laundry list of people, don't we?”
We've had difficult running to make it. Megan's a difficult person and so Kate here, Kate, has got the children and also to remember the middle terms are really involved with this. They say my sources say that William now has much more fun, much more funness to the middle terms than the Windsors and so the Middletons have seen how dangerous Megan is. They play the same game a little bit the Middletons as the Markles. They're both very ambitious families. They're both families that are
from a non-royal background. They know how to cut out a problem and so where the Windsors will probably take what they would consider the high road. The Middletons are going to see it for what it is and they are not going to get their daughter, their grandchildren, messed up in this circus that is about to arrive in London. I do hope that William's advisors understand that as this anniversary approaches and if William declines to attend in the event his brother is invited that
everyone in America would share William's decision, would completely understand it no matter how loud the noise and the tabloids gets. How could William he's so cold-hearted. It's the anniversary
Of days that we all see it for what it is and given that it is the 30th anniv...
There is every reason to believe that those two snakes, my opinion, will be carrying recording
equipment, will be filming for Netflix, will be documenting for a further memoir, a Diana 30th special meta-glasses and we're secretly recording behind Palace Walls, they will stop at nothing they are vulgarians who will sell out anything and anyone and so we are all here in America, Team William. Team William, they've also two teamed up with the most controversial member of the Spencer family, Diana's brother Charles, who's got a book coming out too and so I predict
there will be many events for Diana's death for the anniversary, there'll be an event at
all fraught where she is buried because the brother wants to increase tourism, there'll be events,
“Windsor there'll be events at Bucket and Palace I think I could argue and I could make a good”
case here but the only official event is the one that William and his family are at. If William and his family aren't there it's not an official event, Charles does not have the moral authority to our princess Diana, the queen doesn't, Andrew doesn't, who's got the authority, there's anyone person that's left and that's William so whatever event William does, that's the official Diana event. You know if he finds himself publicly boxed into this, you know, untenable position
by say King Charles Harry, I actually I like this idea and what I would suggest doing is saying having a very quiet dignified announcement that this anniversary is so momentous that the prince of Wales will be observing it at home with his family, Catherine and the children.

Go to select quote.com/moreen today to get started. Next story, this did not get the pick up that I thought it would. Brad Pitt. Okay, so the major headline to come out of the Esquire cover story on him was that he's drinking again. What what he also said in this interview, which has only been picked up by the star, the national inquire, and got a tiny little squib in the front of book as we call it in the
trade of people magazine, that front PC section, which at one point, this to me shows how far Brad's star has fallen. It would have been a cover of people magazine. Yes. Yes. That's that he was suicidal. At one point, after the divorce with all of the difficulties with the children, that he was suicidal and nobody's picking it up. Rob, why do you think? There's a time I mean, Brad Pitt was once America's golden boy. Everybody loved him. You know, now, it's like
it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a shrug if you even hear about this. Yeah, it's tricky to ever keep that intensity. And as you get older, the flame doesn't burn as bright in the media as it does, when you're younger and shirtless and hot or in a bikini. And so I understand how the media has, has progressed here, but there's also something around Brad that I've come into contact with. There's extraordinary. His team, Brad's upper ratus, is very, very controlling. And they make it
very, very clear what they want, what they don't want, what they think is fair, what they don't think is fair. And there is a case here and I've been on the other side where a really bullying
Publicist often can get rewarded.
the bother. And so Brad here, it's a tricky one. It's the combination of his star has certainly
diminished. And it's also to the combination that his team still have some power. It's like if you go up against team Beyonce or if you go up against team Taylor Swift, they go out of their way to make things very, very difficult. People assume we just report the truth. We just find great stories and we report them. That's not the total process. It's a very difficult process to actually get a story to print and there's many obstacles, hurdles that you can put in the way and that's
what team pit does. But I'm shocked. I thought that when I heard that sentence, I was shocked that it was buried on the cover of like the GQ. I would have said suicide. I would have like GQ
buried it. So the very source buried it and then he never got pick up May I say to when that story broke,
it was major for a few hours, and then we got Perez Hilton, then we got Peter Hayden, Panna Tier. So I think Brad was a bit, I don't say lucky in people's downfall, but those two massive stories broke just a few days later. And sort of wiped Brad a little bit off those front
“pages. So I think that's what happened with the flow of the story. But as far as it been a major”
story, he said it. They didn't ask. They didn't have for us. He said it. Brad is telling us all this, and I think it's a really great question and value question. To ask why? Why is he bringing this up? Like, yes, he did not need to say that. He did, and you know, there's lots of speculation there, and I got to tip my hat here to the inquiry and start magazine. There are the only ones that had teeth left in the game. They'll find out. And if there's rumours that Brad has been out there
drinking and there's maybe photographs of Brad out there being trashed, if he told the story because of that to soften the blow, they'll still come out. So if I'm interpreting you correctly, your thought is that Brad said this, and his team found out when the S.quire reporter went back for fact checking, they were none too pleased. They want this aspect of the story minimized. The real headline is supposed to be Brad's drinking again. We're getting in front of something. We don't know
what. I also wonder, it was revived again last week in the news cycle that Vivian Jolie pit is the latest among the children to drop to file publicly to drop the last name pit. And Angelina
“keeps saying we're still healing. We're still healing. Is there something more than the plain incident?”
Is there something more? And this may be think back to 2016, around the time Angie left, there were rumours going transatlantic rumours that not only had Brad pit had an affair with Marianne Cotyard on the set of Allied, but that it was a serious affair and that he got her pregnant and that the child she had was really his not her partners. And Marianne, who's very private, took to Instagram to deny this. She went on her own Instagram account to deny it.
Yeah, she did. Just to me, why would you deny something like if it's different from that ridiculous? Just get it going about your life. The reports we were getting at the time about the heat, the chemistry on the set between these two, it was electric. And the example that I was told is he hasn't been this excited on set since he did Mr and Mrs. Oops, Smith. And so Brad has a
“history of this. And I think celebrities like regular people too. We have patterns. And if you're”
cheat, you're probably going to be a cheat. And if you hook up with your co-stars, you're probably always going to hook up with your co-stars. If you go out and get trashed, you're probably that's part of your reputation. It doesn't just happen once. As far as the
plain incident, I don't believe for one second, it was just one incident. He never is.
It's an escalation, isn't it? That might have been the climax. That might have been the moment where everything snapped, but you don't go from jekyll and hide just once. Great explosion like that does not come out of nowhere. No, no, it doesn't. And so we know there's more to that story than meets the eye. And then the Marianne story is really interesting too. I'd almost forgotten about it because the Angelina and the breakup story became so big.
But that story was really hot. And the source in was really good. And the people on set, all whispered, "No, what do you ever caught them in the act?" Although, let's be honest, we didn't catch, bro, the Angelina. They just said, "Everybody on the set knew." Everybody on the set knew they were rocking and rolling in that trailer. No, they know. They know. And you know, the thing that makes me also think there could be some validity to it,
it's like, it's been going on since the invention of Hollywood. And I think back, this isn't,
This is a deep cut.
And she got pregnant. I think he was married at the time. And she got pregnant and she went away
to, like, a convent. Gave birth came back to Hollywood. So nobody ever knew that she had been pregnant, let alone by her married, famous co-star. She then adopted the baby she gave birth to for the purposes of the Hollywood publicity machine. So she was known only as an adopted mother, not the birth mother of this girl. So, you know, the idea that this is, like, too far a field, it not so. I don't know. No, I don't, I think you're really right here. The Mubazzari is the often
the more truthful, truthful it is. Yeah, Brad, Brad's a complicated fella. And it's so different from that sort of, like, very simple guy that he plays in every movie. That very just sweet, nice, dull guy, next door. He's, he's complicated. And that, and that is quite a cover was fascinating that, that he chose to do that. They don't make accidents. And if you do slip up with a, with a magazine,
“I remember when, I was working, I think it was a Jennifer Lopez and she was on the cover of Harper's”
bizarre. And she said something that she shouldn't have said. And afterwards, I just called the editor and said, "Can you take that sentence out?" And it poof it disappeared. The same with people magazine, I remember, I was working with Jessica Simpson and I think God bless her. I think she had a pizza hurt commercial and she decided to advance that she was allergic to tomatoes. Not a good thing to say when you're getting paid a lot of money for pizza hurt. So, I said, "Can you just delete
that sentence, poof the sentence deleted?" And so, the fact that this sentence about him drinking went to print tells me they knew what they were doing. They wanted this. You know, you're so right and I have a similar story from the other side of that phone call being like the reporter, the journalist, I did a piece around the time Casey Affleck was up for the Oscar for Manchester by the sea, which he wound up winning. And that around that time, the story broke that two
“PAs or personal assistance, one to Casey, I believe the other to Joaquin Phoenix. But with Casey”
in particular accused them of sexual, how would I say it? I mean, like he crawled into bed with one of them when they were sleeping. There's creepy. I remember the sexual harassment beyond. And I know from someone who works in this industry, I'm going to keep everybody else involved anonymous. There was an actress who worked with Casey on a movie and Casey just kept hitting on her and hitting on her and hitting on her. And she was trying to just like keep everything cool on set, not upset him,
he was a lead, she was a lead. And she finally had to let him down as easily as she could. And she said to him, listen, I'm married. I'm in love with my husband. I don't cheat on him. This isn't personal. Like it's just not going to happen. This actress then said that Casey said about making every single day of her life on that set, a living fucking hell. And there was no
amount of money. Anybody could ever cut to make her work with him again. And I always remembered
that story. I had that story before this story about Casey broke. That was just told to me personally. After I wrote that column, Rob, his publicist, this was around the holidays. His publicist called me on my private cell phone. I have no idea how this person got my number. And was at me for an hour. I said, how Casey could never do this in Casey's misunderstanding. Casey's such a good guy, blah blah. And I'm thinking to myself, are you in love with him? Like are you getting paid enough
to bother the likes of me right before the holidays and take it? Like I finally was like, I have got to let you go. We are not going to see eye to eye on this and I don't care. Like there's nothing
“you can threaten me with. So you're 100% right. That's how she walks. It's extreme. The machine,”
we've also been going earlier this week. I think we can tell the story fat getting ourselves ready by all this in trouble. But I was writing a story earlier this week and I called you because that the person that I was writing about just wouldn't stop and that the machine of it kicks in
and it's a really powerful machine. Brad has a very, very, very powerful machine and then he
got a little bit lucky with Perez. He got a little bit lucky. If you can say lucky with such a horrible story with Hayden and we moved on. It's amazing how quickly we do move on. However, we all have Google. And the next time a Brad story comes up, we will be able to tie this all back together. So these stories, they might disappear from the headlines today but the next time a Brad and there will be there will be one. The next time a Brad story comes up, this is now part of his record. This is part
Of his, his dialogue and so we will be able to to bring this up and I think m...
I can't imagine that you can interview Brad Pitt without asking about this. Like you any
we can really, unless you're access or you see, then you can. But to put the violent thumbs Brad, this goes down on your permanent record. Speaking of, by the way, I want to, I want to mention you things in the Hayden Pana Tier developing story. The Daily Mail plus broke this exclusively
“and it is a bombshell and I want to handle it sensitively because I think it's sensitive information.”
Number one, it's, it's, it's been reported by the Daily Mail that Hayden had been involved with both her boyfriend Brian and Brian's brother. Yeah. And you know, we now know that both men were in the apartment when Hayden overdosed. We don't know how she overdosed. I read the police
report, which states that Brian, her official boyfriend, was practically a motionless while his
brother was clearly visibly distraught. And this to me has echoes of Marilyn Monroe. Both women died at age 36. Marilyn was being used and abused by the brothers president John F. Kennedy and his attorney general Robert F. Kennedy. You know, I've, I've seen response being like, oh, that's sick. That's gross. Hayden, that's, and I think that's the wrong thing. I think Hayden
“was so broken as a person and so used to being treated like a commodity, a convenience,”
trash, and then this is where she found herself. Yeah. What are your thoughts? And then we're in coats. This was a team working against. These were two jackals going after after her. They were working in coats. I'm sure they played good cop bad cop. I'm sure there was days, one was nice to them and one was cruel to her. As long as they got the money and I know, you know, she's the one that's paying all those bills. She's the one that's paying for that fancy place that they were
staying. And so she was just their cash care. It feels like to me, it is such a, a deeply disturbing story where the male really, really blew me out the water. Those, they went back and they found photographs of, they did have Hayden and the brother walking down the street. And you just don't do that. You know, I don't hold the, my, my, my, my boyfriend's brother's hat. It's not unless the ten years old. They were walking down the street of so her, giggling, looking really
comfortable with one another. And once again, I don't think I blame her for this. I blame that these two brothers worked as a team. They worked in coherence to get what they wanted out of her. Just your opinion. And the golden goose might be dead. I do have a great tip. I got today, though I spoke to a medical advisor who told me they think she was dead by the time they tried to give her knocking and we'll know that because if knocking, you spray it up your nose. If
knocking was in her blood system, her heart was still beaten. If there's no knocking in her blood, and it's just in her nose, then she was already dead. So they will be able to really figure out some timing and the other news that I can break on this story is that the surveillance cameras have all been taken by the police. The police have all the footage. And so that complex where she was staying had lots and lots of cameras. If they went to a drugstore to buy knocking or to buy
booze or whatever they might be buying, they have cameras there. So that whole area is pretty locked down. They'll know who went in and out. What time they went in and out. Also to that their phones have been seized. And the two brothers now have a lawyer up. They've now got personal attorneys. Well, it's too bad for them that they no longer have access to Hedon's bank account and can't wear up with the likes of an Allen Jackson. So okay, moving on to a lighter story, which I love.
We at the nerve, Marlene was first on this and I have now come around to her way of thinking,
“I think Craig Melvin might be a troublemaker. I do. And we are coming to really appreciate Craig”
Daily Mail plus exclusive Craig Melvin Savannah got free problem. Today's show the sod cracks. It's a crack a long time ago. My friends at the mail where I love it. I write there. I love them. As hosts behind the scene, Fury leaks out an insider's reveal brutal humiliation that quote, "Every one in NBC is laughing about published August 22nd, 2026 by Emma James." And I read, today's show host Craig Melvin has reached the end of his rope over hosting the third hour of
today telling colleagues he feels he's working longer than co-star Savannah Guthrie while earning less money. Melvin took the co-anchor chair last year alongside Guthrie and he's fed up with being
Expected to stay behind for the 9 a.
to carry an hour. He believes nobody at NBC takes seriously the money quote. The third hour is a
“joke. A well-play source tells the mail everybody inside the building knows it. Guys, everyone outside”
the building knows it too. Okay. And Craig's like, and rightly so, this story is interesting on two levels. One, Savannah, they are very sorry about her mother, but they are in a workplace and Craig has had it with Savannah coming and going at will working for two hours while Craig works three and Craig is making less money. It's a great story is there. He's getting paid less for doing more. Now the big, the big problem with this is that they position them as co-hosts that they were equals.
I saw a commercial just a few days ago, a new commercial for the today show. It's not Savannah's
today show. It's the two of them, their best friends, their morning show family and he's like,
"If we are equals, then why she earning a lot more money?" and I've been at this show and literally an eight, 58, she's in her car. Like the car is ready. She goes out through the side door and she's in the car and she's gone. I've also been at the show after 10 o'clock. Craig sticks around and he goes across the street to 30 rock. Their offices are not in the same building. As the studio, Craig's a workhorse. Craig has to do all these. They call them remote.
So after a show finishes, he has to go and film pieces. He's working. He's tail off. None of which he minds except he's been told. He's been sold. This bill of goods that they're equals. And then the other part of this that is just so delicious is it, it's totally. It's not an hour. It's going to change your resume. It's the QVC shopping hour. Here's a bunch of cheap
“shit from China you guys should buy. Scan your QR code. Seriously, why the fuck is Craig there?”
It's at the cowhouse now. Like, when you turn off that, I don't know any of these people. Who are these guys? There's like 80 people. They look like they're the joke within a BC because it's a BC show, but there's a bitch in this to it that makes me laugh. They call them deal or no deal girls. Remember the girls that open the suitcases? They make a mark on. Make a mark on Chrissy Tiga. They're interchangeable. Like, would I turn on the today's show down? I don't know who these people are.
And it's very dangerous because morning TV is the most intimate. It's when we're drinking our coffee. It's when we're in our underwear. I haven't yet brushed my teeth and I turn it on. I don't want some of the strangers in me and my tidy whiteies in the morning. I want somebody I trust like some other or Craig and so Craig is Craig is flexible. So Craig is also here being really smart because they can't upset Craig at the moment because they've got Savannah
run a very, very wobbly foundation. Obviously with what's everything's going on personally, they don't have a bench. They have no deep bench of people to back up despite what you might think of hodership. They have no real stars. They have no stars in development. They use to have a ton of people that were bubbling up. Who have they got let really guys like they've got no body. The human equivalent of plywood, really guys, Carson bloated, agreed, phoning it in,
hey back in the 90s when I was rolling around with the biscuit. Al's well past his prime. Al's starting at the White House, you know, per Billy Bush, the most it's like under-prepared interviewer and television. We have Chanel who I don't know how to spell her name is at a see. Oh my god, I just want to ask you something about Chanel. I don't know if you've noticed this lately. I don't know what kind of eyes you're keeping on the business over there. But since the report last
“week, I believe this also broke in the Daily Mail about how Jenna and Chanel are like this and”
like Jenna wants Chanel out and Chanel is not a good fit and blah blah blah. Since that report, this is how you know it's true. I look at them and this is what's going on. Jenna is sitting like this and Chanel is like this. Her body every morning is like get me away from Jenna. You can tell, you can tell on television, you can tell at a dinner party, you can tell at cocktails. I love, I actually gosh, this is so embarrassing to me. I took a course in body language just so
that I can. Oh, why do you think that's embarrassing? I think that's really similar. I don't know,
you'll never know what I never would ever want to have dinner with me again. I can't turn it off.
I can't, I can't just mind about it. I grew up in a difficult home. I read body language like that. I read it. I read it. I read it and it's so obvious and it comes even more obvious when somebody has appointed her to add. But the trouble over at the today's show, well I'm Team Craig on this side. I was invited to Kathy Lee's leaving party. It was at the fancy hotel in Midtown and all the today's show people were there. The one that was the kindest to me and came and sat with me
Was Craig.
He's like kind of like silly. He was a nice guy and the others were like today's show host,
“they were stars Craig. Craig's not that. And so I think it must be quite difficult for him”
to be what some people would say a diva. No, this is your moment Craig. They need you. They're
got no body else. You get yourself a big raise, get yourself off that third act. You know,
you know it's true because producers there, they work on different hours. And the more experience producers work on the first two hours. If ever you've been the guest in the fourth hour of the today show, you better hold on to your hat because it's a 22 year old who's straight out of school who doesn't know how to pop screen diversity. When you get booked on a late hour of the show, good luck. Good. A thing, lock. I know I saw Jonathan Price on the third hour of today and you
just this this this older actor promoting season six of slow horses. You can you could see him
“cutting it out through the unanimity of the questions and the interviewers who didn't bother to read”
the fucking packet. Oh my god. I thought for people to go on that show. Do I want to go on the fourth hour of the third? I'm not good enough for the first two hours. Like they'll have Julia Roberts in the seventh or four hours. But if I'm in the movie with Julia and you don't make out, I've got
it in the fourth hour. Like they always get the left over person. Everybody knows you. Craig does
them want to be a left over. Craig, don't be a left over. Don't get caught in purgatory. Get your agent on the line and get yourself a big fat fucking raise and off the third hour. Okay, two other quick stories. John Ham, this story has gone woefully under reported,
and we're going to bang this bitch like the cultural piñata he is. Okay, John Ham was with his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfelt, for 18 to 20 years. When they got together, Jennifer Westfelt was the one who had a career on the ascent. She's a female writer, director, actor, John was doing nothing except like the dating game and thank God that guy. We're not fans of John here. He nearly killed a frapp pledge and he's a savage fucking criminal in my opinion who got away with it. Now another
criminal act in my opinion. He got really famous on madman and he was with Jennifer Westfelt at that
time and he did a big splashy interview and vanity fair and all over the place saying he would never
get married. His childhood was too much of a trauma. Marriage was definitely not for him. He was very much in love with Jennifer. He also did not want children and that was never going to change. And Jennifer subsequently gave an interview to the New York Times when she was publicizing her film friends with kids. And that was her basically working out. She, she, John Ham was also cast that movie that was her working out. Her future as never having children and she told the New York
Times, I never thought I would be at this age in my life and not have children. But it seems that the parameters of that relationship were ones that John set. And if she wanted to stay with John, he didn't want kids. That's it. Smash cut to circa now with his 30 years younger girlfriend or 20 years younger girlfriend, who he met on the set of madmen, remarried on the
Site where they filmed the finale of madmen.
recall correctly, a close-up on John Ham's face is Don Draper having the epiphany that was going to produce the famous Coca-Cola commercial. Yeah. So to marry on that site is disrespectful to Jennifer
West felt the reports were that he was a womanizer on that set. He was always fucking around on
her. He met the girlfriend on that show. And now the wife, the younger wife is pregnant. He's 55 and he's growing about being an older father. I fucking hate John Ham. Yeah. This is a type of guy every woman has known in some way shape or form. Yeah. These are the guys that bullied guys like me at school. These are the jocks. These are the really handsome guy. I was a ran madmen, not professionally, but personally, friends of mine
worked on that show. And they couldn't sell it. And so the reason they ended up on AMC, which is not the biggest network, was because they couldn't sell it to the, the big networks. And so he took
it, a bad whiner took it first to HBO. So that show was a miracle. So first season of that show
and AMC, they didn't learn a lot of money. None of them had personal publicists. They didn't even really have cars or hair and makeup. And I got to admit that first year when I met the cast members, most of them were quite cool people. And this was sort of like a big break, but not a like changing break. They knew the quality of the show was great. But the chance of it surviving on such a little network, we're not good. It changed in season 2 and the cast changed. And nobody
changed more than John Ham. And I remember saying to a friend of mine, "Do love to this cast worked on the show." And season 1 everything was great and then they started to win some awards. And I said, "This is make or break. This will tell you that they are as real human beings. Because
when the good stuff happens, you would think things get better. It never does. It gets worse."
When you stop pouring money in awards and booze and pressure in, fame in, you get to see the true
“colours. And I think that John sucks everybody because he was with his girlfriend for a really”
long time. I met her with him. She was always with him. She was the star. She was really respected. She's a really great writer. And so he would always do those interviews. And I think she agreed with him that we're not going to get married. We're going to be golden form. We're going to be Russell. Nobody thought the one minute that they would break up unless you'd been following the show. People who work on the show knew that they'd created a monster in John Ham. And it's
shocking because you hope that when fame comes later in life, they've got the decency. You've got the tools to deal with it. When you're really young, I understand getting swept up in it. But I think this is even more of the reason to be angry with him. He was an adult. They did not come late to John Ham until much later on in life James Gandalfini talks about this. He was a working actor that nobody knew until he was in his 50s and he did the soprano's and his life
changed but James didn't change. John Pan became a monster and then to marry this younger lady after
“saying that he would never get married and now the baby came on him and I think that's going to be.”
But also to list the honest, he's crazy. He's not in a particularly great place. He's not potentially a very limited actor. And you know the nerd's about to keep his career in a not great place until it's flat lighting because he almost killed a guy. He almost killed a kid in in college. He set fire to that young man who grew up to become a doctor in a lawyer and I think he's such a piece of shit Rob. You know, you're more generous than I am. I think that he he was a cold,
calculated climber. He found someone in Jennifer Westfelt who would sacrifice everything for him. He's a fucking sadist in my opinion. It wasn't enough that she sacrificed her career for his. She had to sacrifice marriage and she had to sacrifice children. And John dumped her as soon as it was, you know, he waited until Mad Men was over to announce it. I think he was probably cheating on her with this woman the whole time. He reminds me of the Hugh Jackman-debraferness story too that
it doesn't you can you confess to these feelings for a long time. It's not just for a couple of months. He was with Jennifer a really long time, but Hugh Jackman was a dev for a really long time too.
“But ultimately they show their true colors and it's gross. And I think I think the word in”
Hollywood is out on him. People know who he is. And you know, he he's done to rape her. He's not a good guy. He might be a good guy. He might be a good guy. And what bothers me Rob is that it's still like the media props him up. Like he's this dashing movie story. So funny. He's so witty, you know, who he's great friends with Andy Cohen. That's not a good sign. That is not a good sign.
Never a sign.
A good looking person gets more clicks. A good looking person sells more newspapers. And so I
“do understand why the media will put him a bright, but I think even those devilishly, but they're”
not so good looks anymore. He looks a little haggard. He's not the inside always begins to match the
outside or rather the outside always begins to match the inside. And I always think when people begin aging poorly, it's usually a reflection of their internal character and misery. I do final story. Yeah. Final story. Um, Mark Ruffalo. Now, this is um, this is over politics, but I'm only going to mention the politics as they relate to this story. I, I, I think that this is a nervous story because it's showing the power shifts that are happening in Hollywood. And they're beginning
to match the movie going, the people who subscribe streaming services, what we think, which is we want actors to shut the fuck up. We're becoming all to aware of what goes on in Hollywood. Okay,
“you kill your gang. You, you're, you're all full of shit. Okay. Mark Ruffalo told to shut the”
fuck up by David Ellison after going quote unquote scorched earth on what Ruffalo calls the Ellison's
complicity in Palestinian genocide. Now, Bill Marwin off on this subject as well, not Ruffalo per say, but the, the, the, the, the, the, the misuse of what Bill Mar and, and Ellison say is genocide on real time, per variety, published August 21st, 2026. Mark Ruffalo goes scorched earth on paramount Warner Brothers merger, calling out the Ellison family's complicity in Palestinian, even variety puts scare quotes around the word genocide. Mark Ruffalo, if you have ever heard
him speak extemporaneously, is a fucking moron. The guy is a moron. He is not bright. Within hours of this variety piece, hours. And this is a guy, by the way, he makes the bulk of his money in
superhero movies, which are financed by huge studios. So he really should shut the fuck up. That
same day, hours, hours, hours later, that shows you just what a flashpoint this story is Larry and David Ellison unleashed on Mark Ruffalo. The headline in variety, same publication, paramount slams, Mark Ruffalo merger attack as quote anti-Semitic says company does not quote tolerate prejudice of any kind, a spokesperson for the David Ellison run enterprise that the company is quote troubled when anti-Semitic tropes are invoked in purported service of a business dispute
words like genocide and apartheid applied to a corporate transaction aren't just wrong. They cheap in the very real suffering those words are meant to describe what is fascinating to me, Rob, is that this is a canary in the coal mine, often this kind of stuff they try to settle it behind closed doors, or the future like David Ellison might move his studios out of Hollywood. You might move them to taxes. This is like quick sand, this isn't shifting sand, this is a quick
sand. I like the game's changed. Two years ago five years ago a corporation would not publicly have responded to that. The game has changed, now it is personal and now there has become a face of CBS, I don't think we really knew the red stones or we really knew the people that own paramount or Warner Brothers, now there's a face to them and this face is going to punch back and I think that that is a really refreshing, really smart, smart move to go after a business. You can say
you don't like the way that they use their stock or you can say you don't like the way they use their power or you don't like the movies that they produce. You can come after my business but when you start coming after values and using tropes and using language that markers use for a very long time and got away with. Nobody's punched back before and when you get away with saying outrageous stuff, you keep saying it and so I like this. I call these consequences and it's not
cancelled, there's lots of other studios where he can work at but I like the fact that you speak back, I'm really from that philosophy. If you punch me or if you punch something particularly something as sacred and as important to this, it's worthy of a response and this response was
“fantastic and I think other corporations now, other companies are going to start paying attention”
to this and you can fight back if there's one thing we've learned in the Donald Trump era, fight back, don't just roll over, the old paramount, the old CBS, the old Warner Bros. would not have engaged in this, it would have been below them. There were two fancy, their boards would look like it. Now they're fighting back and I think that's a good thing.
I think this is going to let actors who have gone away with shooting them and...
they're going to think twice. I agree with you and I think this isn't just a Hollywood story,
“but it's a sociocultural story. It's reflective of the rest of us who are sick of people like”
Oprah Winfrey and Meryl Streep applauding the likes of Roman Polanski and Harvey Weinstein and Sean Diddy Combs, when we know that they knew everything those guys were up to, if not everything, most of it. And then turning around and telling all of us what to think how to feel how to vote, how to live. We want you to be the court gestures you are. Show up, do your job, shut the fuck up. I don't care what you think. Right, we say thank the philosophy of life that we share.
Do your job and then don't get a drink with your friends. Shut up. You never have lines for
“a living. That's what you do. You're good at it. Don't mistake that, but any moral or faracty.”
Don't mistake that, but any higher ground do your job, shut up. That is the perfect place to leave it, Rob. I love it. You and I will reconvene next week for more trouble. Have a good night. Bye friends. Take care. That's it. That's it for your, sorry. Your Wednesday edition. I'm like, I'm a little lightheaded our Wednesday edition of the nerve at night. Before we bid a due, please keep your feedback coming. Email me at [email protected] or DM me on Instagram at morine,
“call a handwriter or at the nerve show. And remember, please subscribe to the nerve sub-stack that is our weekly”
email. It is released every Friday. A few hours after the last full nerve of the week, but before the mini airs on Saturday, it is full of fun, original bonus content behind the scenes stuff. Talks with trouble makers. Teddy's got his own column going on. It's a weekly thing. I weigh in with my recommendations of the week. Special notes to you guys. It's a ton of fun. It's for free. You can get it over at the nerve show.com. Just sign up right there. And you can
unlock even more original content for five bucks a month. So if you have the extra money and the inclination, we hope that you do. It really does help the show to grow plus nerve merch, grab something for yourself or pick something up. For a fellow troublemaker at shopthener.com, that does it for this
edition of the nerve at night. And we hope to see you back here on Friday at the nerve. We will never
guess what we're about to say next.
