>> Hello, and welcome to the nerves second annual 2026 Emmy Awards.

Red Carpet live stream. I am your host, Maureen Callahan. That was the one and only homicide chief slash investigative reporter Teddy Van Halen. Making his way to the red carpets, sniffing out one Ryan Reynolds and promptly taking a whiz on his shoe.

We are so excited to once again be with all of you troublemakers for this event. Joining us this evening, fellow troublemaker Billy Bush. Post of the Must Subscribe podcast hot mics and himself a veteran of many awards ceremony. It's definitely purple heart material. >> Welcome, Billy.

>> My love so many, so many. It's they got PTSD. >> I'm excited to hear. >> Thank God I've got to kill it, too. >> Oh my God, you have your tequila.

I've got my vodka. We, okay. Before we get into any of the, oh, you look quite dashing, Billy. >> Thank you. >> Love it.

So, let, I want to take a look at our hostess for the evening.

This is the first female host in quite some time.

Mariska Hargite, who just right before we came to air, showed up on the red carpet. Guys, do we have her? >> Okay. >> She's coming.

While we wait, Billy, talk to me about of the nominated shows.

How many you are actively, either familiar with or you watch?

Like you're a fan of. >> Way too many. Way too many. I have an addiction and it's television and it's streaming series. I think I've seen most of them.

I'm, because I knew we were getting together. I, I'm on episode six of Widow's Bay, which is like the second most nominated. I know you're a hacks gal. There's a couple that we all have. I just can't do.

I'm not doing hacks. I'm not going there. I don't even want to. >> No pressure. >> No pressure.

>> I was that way about game of thrones, and they're not even in the same. You know, they're nowhere near each other. >> Whoa. Are you still like an apostate? Like not an apostate.

But you have no familiarity at all with game of thrones. You've never gone in.

>> No, but I've done all the other ones.

I've done the beast in me. I've done your friends and neighbors. I've done, you know, I recently watched Lucky. And then I watched something with them. You brought some called furious.

>> Watch it. >> Most of the, the nominated shows I've seen. >> Yeah. What is your feeling about my beloved widow's bay? >> It's completely weird.

And I'm on the episode. I just finished the episode of the massive, massive dark mushroom trip, which I thought was an acting tour to force by man. >> Mm-hm. >> I mean, I just, you know. >> So this is crashing into everything outside his mayor's office.

That's like slapstick physical comedy. Oh my god. >> I didn't expect it to be so funny. I thought it was kind of a, you know, a cryptic mystery. But it's really fun.

The cast of characters around him is what I love. The secretary and the nerdy, you know, assistant and all these whack jobs. And even, you know, the town cop, they're all weird. >> In silent room. Is it Stephen Root?

>> Yes. >> New radio. >> National treasure from news radio. >> Yes. >> God is he good.

>> He's so good. Now, hacks you're not a fan of. Have you watched any of it? >> No, you know what? I probably would be a fan.

It's just one of those where you draw the line. You're like, "I'm not, I'm not doing it. I'm just not going to." >> Wow. >> And look, Jean Smart is a genius.

I just, I tried a few episodes. And then years ago, I built and I just have no way of diving in now. >> It's hard. >> It's hard enough. It got spotty.

You know, I felt like the first season was sort of,

it was warming up its engine. The second season, it really got going. Then they got a little bit spotty. I think so many shows, COVID, and the interference in production

May be cost them some momentum and some creative steam.

>> Yeah.

Have you been, have you been to the Emmys?

>> I've never been to the Emmys.

>> It's no golden globes. Golden globes is the party of the year. That's a rager because they put the booze on the table. And it's, you know, in the Beverly Hills. But Emmys is fun.

Emmys is fun because it's so broad. And it brings, you know, everybody from TV. And TV's a little less snobby than film. >> Right. >> It's film.

>> Yeah. >> You have the celebrities who's publicist. They almost stopped stopping. I've been there for it all. Back in the beginning, my early access Hollywood days.

Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney. You get them all. They all want to come over the whole thing.

Now they're kind of afraid to.

TV people are looser and cooler. And there is a lot of crossover, but the big stars don't really stop like they used to.

>> You know, it's interesting you mentioned this because we are going to see some movie stars tonight.

Nicole Kidman for one. >> He's in every series. >> You're so right. >> Woman does not want to be home. She's like, I don't know what's in home.

That's scary. But I will say this about her like Kate Winslint. I'm going to give it a look if she's in it. I find her to be phenomenal. >> Yes.

Have you, does that include Lioness? >> Season one. Loved it. Season two. >> Yeah.

>> Season three I quit after 40 minutes.

I just didn't grab me. You know, like, whereas what's the one? Only murders in the building. Excellent number one. Season two.

Better. Season three. Amazing. Season four. >> I have a resistance to only murders because I do not find Selena Gomez.

I actually, not only not a compelling actress, she sounds and to me and delivers all of her line readings as if she has treatment resistant to pressure. >> I understand exactly what you're saying. I know what you mean. She's got a.

>> It's almost a monotone and it goes like this. >> It was very much a monotone. >> Sometimes we barely even separate our teeth when we're speaking. We just, you know, like, we're some reason it works because you got two wacky guys around if she was anything more than still.

I think it would be too much because they, these two guys are so expressive and

performative and, you know, all of that. But I exactly what you're saying. >> No, I get it. She will be on the red carpet this evening as well as in daya. I'm getting word from Marlene that we've got Cynthia Nixon.

While we await Mariska Hargite, who really has shown up looking like just an old school screen siren in the vein of her late mother Jane Mansfield. Marlene, do we have Cynthia ready to go? >> Cynthia. >> Oh.

>> The gilded age. >> We're about to see Mariska. While we wait, let's take a look at Hannah Einbinder from your favorite show Hacks Billy. >> Oh, I love it.

>> Last year's Emmy. She's the female version of Mark Ruffalo. There's no awards ceremony. She won't get on stage for and, you know, it makes some sort of political pronouncement that nobody wants to hear and just bring the whole room entirely down.

Let's play. Hannah, at last year's Emmys, or we're going to take a look. My understanding is this is a full screen. Here it is. Oh, it's coming up as her mother Hannah Einbinder.

>> Her mother is, um, here she is. Oh, this is her Instagram. Her mother's Lorraine Newman. >> Right. >> Late events now.

>> That's enough. >> Okay. Let's take a free Palestine speech in her and her Emmys accept. I was shocked. She won best supporting actress.

I believe that's what she won. Not a great actress. You know, Jean Smart is really doing all the heavy lifting on that show. And you could see that Jean Smart after in those photos and doing the press room. She was most displeased.

It seemed to me that her young co-star chose to hijack the moment. >> Yeah. >> Well, Jean is, Jean, by the way, used to live right down the street. My greatest buddy in the neighborhood is my lawyer by a blind who bought the house from Jean's smart. >> Wow.

>> He had the ghost of Jean. I often is there. You can feel it in the room. >> What's the house like? >> Kind of great has a big screening room above the garage.

And it's kind of elegant. It's in Cino Fabulous. >> No, it's not Beverly Hills. >> She's in my yoga class. I love to drop down.

>> You've mentioned that.

My favorite to have been about her.

She lives in the old Smokey Robinson estate. >> She does. >> She's in my class and so is Teddy. Teddy, Melon Camp. Little Teddy and Kyle.

>> I love it, Billy. There's nobody. You don't know. We've got Mariska. We're going to take a look.

And you're going to give us your red blooded American male opinion. >> The husband is hot. It's not what you expected from a red blooded American. What a great looking man. >> Hi.

>> She looks elegant. >> She looks elegant. Can I say the bosom? I think I can. The bosom is Jessica Rabbit-esque.

She. I like the dress. It's not. It's no Bob Mackie. We're going to get to him, yes.

>> But it's showing some right shin and I like right shin. >> Right shin. I'll say this. It's no Angelina Jolie at the Oscars. Judging one of those thighs out.

>> I love that move. >> That's a great move. >> Yeah. >> You know immortalized.

I believe by who immortalized that later.

>> Every underwood is known for it. Throw that away right there. >> She really. >> Yeah.

>> I'll bet you this is one of the very first.

The trouble makers are loving it. We're hearing wauza. She's a classy beauty. She looks fantastic. >> Interesting.

>> Most stories. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Why do you think they chose her? I mean, I feel like I feel like her crossover in the culture really came.

She was doing this one woman play on Broadway, one person play. It was the gender could be whatever. But then every night she was running over to Madison Square Garden across town to be court side for the nicks as they were making their run for the champ. And I feel like that really sort of was her big crossover moment this year.

>> I think it's a tribute. It's a tribute to the 47 years in a row. She's been on SVU or whatever it is. She has been there from the start and the show isn't going to be nominated. It's not one of those.

It's just a money maker stable. So I think it's a way of just, you know, show and respect to Mariah. >> I agree. I really do wish that they would do something like an updated Sean Colmes SVU.

>> Yeah, exactly. Get a little more. We say ripped from the headlines. What headline? The one from two years ago.

>> Yeah, no way. Dick Wolf is so lazy. These nine shows. >> I know, they really shouldn't.

There's just so, I mean, where's the Harvey Weinstein episode?

>> So, just see how he's not getting out. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay, Lisa Rina. We're going to look at Lisa Rina. >> Handsome Harry.

Don't forget Harry. Oh, no, she's not there. >> She's throwing the leg out. Look at me. >> Yeah.

She is throwing the leg out. This is lever or lever couture. That is a house or a brand. I am unfamiliar with. This is quite a choice, Billy.

What is it with the legs? >> She is, she'll be doing that at 90. There's no stopping Rina. She is now. We used to be friends back in the day.

She came to my 40th birthday party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And won the yoga award. We had awards in tennis, in golf, in all the end yoga. And she won that hands down. And she brought Harry with her.

She is in six shape. She's north of 60, I believe. And she's letting you know it. So good for her. Good honor.

>> Yeah, you know, she does. This is, again, this is sort of a more. I wonder if she's inspired by her daughters who are now modeling on runways. This is more of an editorial look to me than necessarily a red carpet look. But I like it.

She's served a little bit. >> Amelia and Delilah. Now these girls are exactly the ages of my oldest two. Everybody knows everybody in this town. And they all go to the similar schools and stuff.

But I mean, the other day someone showed me Amelia Hamlin. And I had no idea. And I was like, oh, my God. I mean, she is a very body confident.

And I remember she was like six women in a pool.

And I'm like, oh, my God, that's little Amelia. >> Yikes. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my God. The troublemakers.

Lisa's wearing a comforter. That black dress looks like a glorified trash bag. She looks like she's wearing a bin liner. >> Mm-hm. >> That.

>> She's interesting. >> Yeah, not everybody can do it. Let's be clear about that. >> We've got Kristen Bell is on the red carpet. And we'll take a look at her.

But first we'll look at Cynthia Nixon who is wearing Issy Miyake.

Again, this is a, okay, well, you know, you can say something, Billy, I find this weirdly remarkably tasteful for Cynthia.

We also, there also seems to be an absence of political pins on her person.

>> Maybe they've learned that people just don't, in fact, whatever your pin says, you motivate the other side. Whatever the opposite of whatever it is you're promoting. Nobody wants to hear it. >> I can't wait to spark off a lot tonight.

>> Buffalo is the worst. He's the worst. I mean, you're telling me with how many actors there are in the world. We can't find a backup.

We can't find, what role is absolutely has to have Buffalo in it?

I don't know. I find it to be very hard to swallow. >> That is an excellent, excellent point.

He never arrives on a red carpet without being festooned with political activism on his lapel.

But Cynthia Nixon actually looks like pretty decent. Are we also, are we also just seeing the return of the actor? Just wants to play ball and get some work? >> Yeah. Well, I mean, Cynthia Nixon's not, not no shortage of work.

Although, did you hear that mom Donnie docks her in that list of all the people with the millionaires tax? >> He's great supporters, Cynthia Nixon and he put her right out there. Check out her Pia dot tear that's worth whatever. >> Right now it's a Pia dot tear because she's also got a house out in Montauk on Long Island. So now she's one of the filthy rituals to pay up.

>> She's in the category of Ken Griffin, hedge fund billionaire and then Cynthia Nixon. I mean, he owes her an apology for that. >> Okay, we're going to take a look at Kristen Bell, one half of the couple. The on-screen couple known for nobody wants this show.

I bailed out of after season one.

I don't know if you watch it Billy. I found the hot rabbi played by Adam Brody to be very problematic. He was like a walking red flag. We're looking at Kristen Bell. I wonder if Dax shepherd is with her or not.

I don't like this. I don't like it at all. This looks like it doesn't even know what it wants to be. It looks like she now really assaulted a mugger. >> I like to see the top thing just come off.

The little spaghetti strap and whatever's going on on the left side is to rific. I don't know if the right side is all the way on or halfway off. >> Is it a cape? It's unclear what this is. Bell is annoying that husband is not angry.

This is a trouble maker. Dax, yeah, he's in bad monkey. I do like the sort of the nighty look for her. She works out a lot. She's in great shape.

I remember her, I passed her running on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood.

She was like, oh, oh. Really, really going. We're working hard. We're going to get you by the time I ran into Jerry Seinfeld on the 101. I couldn't believe it.

I look over at the Jerry. What are you doing? I can't believe it. Belly. We're going to get to the creative duo or one half of the creative duo behind

your favorite show, Hacks in a moment. Sorry, wait, Marlene, who did you say we have? Oh, Katherine Linasa from the pit. I don't know if you're watching the pit. She's an nominee.

Yeah. Oh, this is a, I love an ice blue kind of lavendery thing. It's reading a little bit like that to me. Very, very Carolyn Bessette Kennedy here.

I think we're going to be seeing a lot of the CBK influence on the red carpet.

Love story was one of the biggest hits of the year. She's got the red lip, the bright blonde hair pull back tightly. The sort of Calvin Klein minimalism. I like it a lot. I'd love to tailoring on it.

These are tough to tailor when they really got it. I mean, it's very hard to shape perfectly a satin negligee which is what this feels like. Very similar to Kristen with nothing wrapped around up top. I love fashion, Marlene. I can do this all day. I love that you love it, Billy.

I somehow knew, you know, I have to ask you, do you watch the pit at all?

I watched the first half of the first season, but I gave up on the pit.

It was too frantic. You know, at the end of the day, there was just too much going on. I needed to relax a little more. Katherine Linasa, who is married to the smoke show that is Grant Show. She got a lot of praise in her first season because she sort of,

people said she nailed this very difficult to nail regional Pittsburgh accent. And then in season two, she went like off the rails with it. It was like, it got so thick that you could barely, you needed subtitles to understand her dialogue.

What is a Pittsburgh accent?

That's interesting.

I don't know if I've ever heard like a Pittsburgh specific.

You know, it's not like she cago anything like that. It's not made Western, that kind of thing is it? No, I've never. I don't think they're necessarily is one of my oldest friends is a Pittsburgh native. Was raised there grew up and like, has no accent.

She's got one of those like, um, a risk for credit. No, not a risk to credit.

It's like, you know, where they, if you want to be like a newscaster and an alis

market, they send you to get speech therapy to like have a non regional accent, right? Right. Yes. It's like that. She's just straight.

Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.

There's no, I don't really think there is one.

Um, before we get to what I'm going to say, I, I'm going to give this one. This one's up for a nerve award already. 20, 20, six. A nervey? Who's getting a nervey tonight?

Oh, wait till you see it, Billy. Wait till you see this.

And the UK too, that's q-u-i-n-c-e.com/nerve. We are back with Billy. Okay, this is my nominee. "Nervoword's 26th Meg Stalker." Okay, she has a roll on hacks and she also starred in Lena Dunnham's completely snubbed. One season, semi autobiographical show, which was called "God, I can't even remember what it was called."

Too much, right? Was it called too much?

Too much is what she showed in the first series of girls.

She went nude in that one. Is she nude in this one?

No, but she is, she's about twice the size, which I mentioned only because in an era in which the rise of GLP ones have paid the lie to the idea that morbidly obese people are very happy with being morbidly obese. She's basically playing herself and Billy, she's most often shot at prone. She's either on a sofa, on her back, or in a bed. And her character is like refusing to get out of bed, whereas Meg Stalker is playing her alter ego. This is great. This is great. Another rom-com would be rom-com.

Guys, way too hot for her will sharp of the white lotus season too. And yeah, and he plays a jobless DJ, much like her husband and real life. Oh, God, that's, yeah. Oh, I see her, I see her grant show by the way. I just looked over there. Oh, see up there? I looked over to corner my hair looks unbelievable tonight. He looks like a BG.

Oh, Marlena, you're speaking my language, Billy, I love these things. Great show. He's played looking from, from Melrose play. Melrose. She's, he is really held up well. He is aged impackably. He looks almost, he looks almost the same but better. He's got some seasoning to him. You know who's vibe? He gives off. You ready? Oh, he, he, little Vigo. He gives off some Vigo.

Little Vigo Mortensen. Yeah. He gives off some Vigo energy with the hair and the look. I would, I would agree without the, and this is just a vibe. I'm not saying Vigo has this in his history at all. Like, you know, without, like, maybe experimenting with, like, heroin in the 90s. Right. Right. I interviewed Vigo once and he had a, someone bring someone to eat, but on the end of a chain and it was, like, swung in and it was the weirdest thing,

like, a little incense thing and he was, and he was barefoot and he was, you know, as if he was like, and an, on a Nepali's track or something. Thank you and he had his little tea and the whole thing. He's got, um, piece Nick energies, you know, he's got, uh, this kind of a groovy guy. And that kind of makes me think, like, if I went into doing interview like that and said interview subjects,

Such an actor showed up like that, I would just think, this is meant to repla...

That's, uh, yeah. It's a distraction. You don't have to, he's not a, he's not a riveting interview. That's, that's the thing.

Oh, my god, an arrival, Matthew Reese is arriving with a huge beard and Kerry Russell looks, uh, gorgeous. Okay. We got to capture those two Marlena is aware. We've got to capture those two Marlena.

We got to get Grant show and, uh, who are we showing right now? Do you tell me?

We have Marlena. So we're going to take a look at Selena Gomez, okay? Oh, I'm just giving disco queen energy. I wonder what she's wearing. If we could find out that would be great. The hair soup. This feels very studio 54. You jibbing Pharaoh. Yeah. Kind of Bianca Jagger hair. Okay. That's, like, we've got her on a loop like flinging it back, flinging it back.

Um, I think that she looks great. Lots of love for Kerry Russell in the troublemaker comments.

And for you, Billy, they're saying you, not only are historical, but that you do, in fact, have great hair. I do. Thank you. Yeah. That's fair. I do. Now, you're not wrong. I do. But God is fair when he was handing out all the gifts. He said, Bush, we're going to give you a fantastic helmet. But you're not going to be that tall. And although I'm not that short, really, I'm five. Ten. I mean, like, just oh, Billy, now you're humble bragging, really. Oh, God only made you five.

Can you do a great out there? Yeah, not a short king. By the way, the troublemakers are saying they believe that you're five, nine. Just for what is that on the internet, but I'm telling you, I mean, that is, like, even barefoot. It's like nine and three fits. So with any decent shoe, with a flip flop, it's five, ten. So you're not. Oh, my God. Okay, can we show Meg Stalker, please? Can we please, please? I'm dying to get Billy on me. Okay, Billy.

The author. Look at this. Tell me your thoughts. She's the Emmy. She is hysterical. And there's one thing the Bushman loves. It is a woman with a giant sense of humor. And look at that. I just, I admire the courage. I admire the humor. I admire the bulls. Good. Good on her. I do, too. And like, what's she going to do? She could have, like, removed the wings. And I wonder how much that thing weighs that.

I'm sure that she's holding up. Yeah, no way. Oh, styrofoam. Oh, you're so right. You're such a, well, you're, you're, you're a true creature of, of show business. You get this immediately. And then we've got Paul W. Downs who is the, he's with her.

He's, he's one of the creative forces behind hacks. Okay. Who is next?

We've got Adam Brody again, said hot rabbi from, uh, he looks like he didn't want to be there. You know, and he doesn't. Is that a yellow tie he's wearing? I like the tie, though. It's kind of wide. He's got the, he's got the double big on. It's kind of a 70's vibe. Uh, without the flared bottom on the pants. So he's got, uh, he's got 90's pants on a 70's top. It's got a big tie. Big wide tie. It's half asked god, half tie if I can see it. Yeah.

Yeah, this doesn't feel a word show Hollywood, big deal, red carpet to me. This feels like, no. Late afternoon wedding on the East Coast to me. Yeah. Yeah. Business meeting in the Pan Am Building. This is not. [laughter] And if you know, you know, back in the day, I mean, you're a young woman.

I remember the Pan Am Building. It's, it's no, the buildings there, but the Pan Am logo and Pan Am as a company is no longer, uh, in existence.

Uh, back when you could smoke on flights. You know what I mean?

Oh, can you believe that was ever allowed? Oh, yeah. The greatest ever moment when they made that illegal. When they, they demand cigarette smoking on domestic flights, which took forever to do this. But anyway, Charles Corralt, the great CBS news anchor came on and he said tonight. We closed the evening news with cigarette smoking has been banned on domestic flights in America. He pulls out a cigarette and he lights it and he goes, so to the CBS travel department, New York Copenhagen, Los Angeles.

Good night, everybody. And out he goes, we love to smoke so much. He's going to go all the way to Copenhagen before he can so it can be international the whole way. Oh, God. You might, my favorite factoid, uh, it's too small of a word about Charles Corralt is that he was like America's grandfather,

bringing home the wholesome news and he actually had a secret second family for the bulk of his life.

Oh, back when you could. Did you know that?

No, but that doesn't surprise me back in these got, you know, right now, when...

You were, they were animals back then. Now we know everything. You cannot get away with anything.

Wait a second family. You got away. I mean, we didn't know until after he died.

He did get away with it, you know. He got away with it because there was no internet crawling up his ass like there is for everyone else. I mean, you know, he's poor guys just trying to f around and have a secret second family. A little second, by the way, I mean, he got the curse that he needed a second family. I mean, a second girlfriend. Okay, but you got the kid do and the, and the nanny and the, two station wagons. This isn't. Oh, you better believe Charles was crying that he was in the poor house. He was nearly making it much as was reported on age six.

Okay, we're going to, oh, my god, mom, Donnie's, is that mom, Donnie? No, guy who looks like mom, Donnie, who is that?

Who is that person? Mom, Donnie cannot be at the Emmys. It's not, it's not him, but the guy looks amazingly like him. We're going to take a look at who do we have in the hopper, Marlena? You know what's interesting? The foster sisters Sarah and Erin foster creators of nobody.

Oh, I, I'm not impressed with this. Again, this feels very bright. It's this feels very guinea sacks like 1989. It's shiny. It doesn't photograph well. It kind of looks cheap. I'm sure you know these people. So, that's all me.

My girlfriend's best friends. So you've got me, you know, I'm just going to say this.

They are incredibly funny and they look gorgeous tonight. Girls, I don't know how you did it. I'm sure they're lovely people, congratulations on all their success with their Netflix show and their past. Oh, my money. I, it's so much money. Oh, my god, it's so much money.

You know, but to your point, like if the Carolyn Bissette Kennedy look is the, these two could easily channel it beautifully. They have the height. They have the statuous, you know, model like figures. They've got the blonde hair, the bone structure. I would have loved to have seen them in something reminiscent of like a Calvin Klein in the 90s. Surprise that they didn't do more acting. I'll be honest with you. They're great writers and, you know, they're very, very funny, successful podcast. And, and all that, the business rate favorite daughter does well. But I, you know, as far as like stand-up comedy or acting, they're both very, very, very whips,

smart funny funny people hard to keep up with through this erasing. Billy reporting from the front lines, troublemakers, Billy knows so many people. I do.

With the, it would be amazing if, if like it turned out, you were like some sort of like,

I mean, like, you just had this like amazing, inner imaginative life going on. You know, yeah, yeah, second life. It's, it's so funny. We're going to take a look as soon as we can at carry Russell. And Matthew Rees, who are on the red carpet together. They are together in real life. Matthew is nominated for, I believe, both the Beast in me.

And widows Bay, carry for the diplomat. Have, I think you did say, Billy, you saw the Beast in me?

I've seen the Beast in me. Yep, it's really, really, really good. I mean, he is amazing. This guy is incredible. What did you make of Claire Danes' performance? It's Claire Danes. It's in everything. I have a theory and Claire Danes fits right into it. A theory is, there's no such thing as acting, Marine. They just, you just are. You, you just are that person. That's why people say, you know, who'd be great in that role? Claire Danes. Because you're looking for someone who's very frantic and that's what you're, you're looking, so you say that's Claire Danes.

We're looking for, you know, whatever, a total pain in the ass. Mark Ruffalo, there you go. No.

They, it's always cast for the emotion you're looking for. So I just think like, no one's ever really stretching.

You know what, I, I agree with you completely, and this hit home for me. So last week or the week before Marlene and I went to go see Jennifer Aniston interview her celebrity hypnotist boyfriend Jim Curtis at the 90s. I can street why. Oh, you better believe it, my man. We went. And what struck me was Jennifer Aniston, her speech patterns, her gestures, her pauses, her mannerisms. It's all, it's the same from friends on. She plays herself. This is why she has never been able to get any traction as a serious actress.

She, she is herself. That's it. She's Jennifer Aniston. And you, and she's, what is she had, what she had, one role that was very interesting, the good girl. My wife to go. That was a mic, white film, the good girl. Yeah, man. That really paid departure for her.

Then morning show is is you can feel this decado and the sort of the nervous ...

People are talking to us.

Do you think she really comports herself in the morning show, like any of the real, if female anchors, network morning show anchors, you've known she reads is very like West Coast neurotic. To me. Did I know anything like that? No, I mean.

Like what are they like? Like what's the kind of, if you had, if you could just sort of summarize like the sort of driving top characteristic and women like that?

I think it's everybody, but they, you know, when you're given some, it's such a bubble of a world when you're given, you know, it's, it's hard to, it's funny. You're connecting. You're supposed to be connecting with normal regular people all the, and it's hard to be normal and regular or stay that way in an environment like that. It's, I mean, I can, I felt myself in the two months that I worked in morning to let the, at the today show. I could feel the cool aid is tasting really good, like a big, big, big deal. I have a car service that picks me up at 7 a.m.

and takes me wherever I want for the rest of the day. I could go to bedford right now and have dinner, and they're going to drive me back to my door. And they're paying me too much money to do is it's impossible to stay a normal, connected, grounded human being impossible in every way. Wow. It's to my experience. I'll broker. Never forgive it. Oh.

Hold on, hold on. What? Are you getting more booze? This is the broker. Yeah. Oh, my God. I love it. I love it. By the way, RIP, RIP, the last show for Axis Hollywood, which I was the host of for 15 years was on Friday night.

This is the first year. They haven't been on the Emmys red carpet in 30 years. Not there tonight.

Wait a minute. I thought Axis was ending in October.

No. This is it. They had their last show and they may have a couple of shows that are pre-tapped that are on.

Like 10 tonight or tomorrow or whatever, but they taped their last one on Friday. It's done. Oh, that's so again, like all of these legacy media institutions are just dying. And when we were prepping for tonight's live stream, it occurred to me. It's us and it's E. That's it.

And I defy anybody to name by name. Any of these E hosts who are on the red carpet doing these ostensible interviews with the celebrities. No, maybe. It's not like back in the day where you would see like even like now at the Oscars that like bring out the GMA big guns. But no, there's there. There are no stars on the red carpet.

No, maybe maybe Derek Huff, my replacement at extra. Maybe he's run the jumping on the red carpet tonight. I don't know. There's a run the jump is you don't know what it is. No, what is that? Is that a real one?

The jump is the French word for leg. Wrong is round. It's the rounding of the leg move.

You know, when they sweep the leg around like that, that's called the wrong thing.

Yeah. Billy, you're an international man of mystery. Okay. We're going to take a look at Carrie Russell with Matthew Reese. I love these two.

I love them as actors. I think they're great. And I like them as just like they seem. You know, they live in Brooklyn and like a brownstone.

They've got some kids. You never see them.

She doesn't seem to be on social media. She probably has like a burner account. But they keep very low profiles. And I just, I like it. Again, now, Carrie always kind of dresses like New York downtown cool on the red carpet.

And her hair is that way. Her makeup is that way. And I really, really, really like it. She doesn't sort of go like Miss Pretty Princess. She's not like a trend follower.

Matthew looks kind of really nicely scruffy. Like I'm into it. I'm here for it. Yeah, I'm thinking he's got a few flyaways there. But doesn't give a shit, right? I mean, like he doesn't care.

The beard is is long and it doesn't totally match the top. It's up in the bottom or a miss. I kind of like that, though. Okay. I kind, I like, like, you know, it's, it's, um,

I don't know how. I'll die at the top of my, I will not die my beard. He said. That feels very, very intensive to me. Yeah, dying of beard was very labor intensive.

So yeah, he's clearly dying. It looks like the top. Yeah. Why are, why are people so hard on a man? You know, men get it, you know, a die job.

It's like, I'll be honest with you. Let's confess. Um, I did once I did a stretch of months where I was using this CBS gray away. Kind of thing like you try to watch. Watch me women call it a box eye box.

Box eye box eye.

But it wasn't like a dying of the hair.

It was a getting rid of the gray.

It said, all we're going to do is fill this into the bricks.

It's a matrix. I'm getting rid of the gray behind it. But on certain angles, it looked like purple here. Brown here. And I was like, this is a mess.

And my girlfriend was saying, stop. What you're doing. And I'm like, no, it's going to settle. It's, you got to go to the professionals. Listen, oh, they're saying lean woodley has arrived.

And boy is Aaron Rogers. Been talking about her. Oh, we got to get to show that Shane lean woodley by the way, Marlene. I'm waiting for Grant show. That Aaron Rogers interview was a bombshell.

He said, yeah, they were like, maybe they just got, you know, she's like, okay, we got engaged. I want to get married, but I got to go. One guy before we get married.

He, she said, I need one for the road, basically.

You know, it's funny. I will, I will say this. I don't think it's really telling tales out of school. But I have a friend in Brooklyn. Actually, one of Teddy's dog walkers who takes care of him in Brooklyn. And this dog walker was like, I just went to the bank in green point.

And I swear I saw Shane Woodley making out with a woman. And I think this is her girlfriend.

And so I believe Aaron, Aaron Rogers is a version of events.

She seems like, um, what's a good word, Frisky? We're watching the better term. Aaron Rogers and Shane. Mm-hmm. Would that be an arrangement if they were going to pull it off?

Very good question. Something to mull as we toss to a lot of skin care brands promising the world. But one skin takes a completely different approach rather than just covering up. The visible signs of aging. They're focused on what's actually happening beneath the surface.

And that's one of the reasons to incorporate it into your routine. One skin was founded by four PhD longevity scientists who engineered their proprietary peptide OS01 to target dysfunctional cells rather than just sitting on the surface. The results of the OS01 face topical supplement are consistent. It's not an overnight fix.

But over time, your skin is firmer, more radiant and has a more even tone. It is refreshing to use a routine that actually supports skin health. And over time, it helps to support smoother looking skin. Improved radiant and some more even tone. The appearance of fewer fine lines.

Their products are also backed by four peer reviewed clinical studies more than 10,000. Five star reviews born from over 10 years of longevity research. One skin is helping you to unlock your healthiest skin now. And as you age for a limited time, try one skin with 15% off. Using code nerve at 1 skin.co/nerve.

That's 15% off 1 skin.co with code nerve. After you purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about them. Please support our show and tell them we sent you. And as we move into the middle of the show, we are going to take a quick look, Billy.

At a few bits from some of the nominated series this evening. Here we go. As you can see, we have some new faces with this this morning. Good morning, good morning, come on over.

Starting with second year resident doctor, Melissa King,

Fresh from the VA. Everyone calls me now. I'm so happy to be here. Turn it easy and turn. Victoria Javadi, MS3.

Dennis Woodaker, MS4. Teddy Van Halen, intern. Welcome to the pit. We got to trauma from the two. I'm going to stop.

Okay, copy that. I need access to the board. Looking for Steadman's remains. Who here is brave enough to make history. Steadman's is going to get her back.

This has to be the stupidest thing I've ever done. And I went on a date with Saddam Hussein. I can relate. I was once mistaken for John Palm, Jovey. I am in the crawl space.

Ripping. Hello? I'm coming out, don't come in, don't go! Daddy, showing up.

Daddy, we took a little key from Do you remember Billy back in the day when

like the Oscars were a huge thing. Billy Crystal would open every Oscars. And he would be an every nominated movie somehow. That was the best.

No, no, no one could ever do it.

It was tried, you know, occasionally by someone.

But Crystal was that was it.

Yeah, I'll offer up a Billy Bush-esque factoid.

Fun fact. Billy Crystal is from my hometown of Long Beach, New York. He's from Long Beach. Is that on Strong Island somewhere? That is on Strong Island somewhere.

Mm-hmm. Fantastic. You were a Baldwin and... Alibalduin Massapiquewa claims Alibalduin. Just like Massapiquewa claims the Gil-Go Beach serial killer.

Oh, God. We want nothing to do. It's just right. Okay. We're going to look at Noah Wiley.

Marlene keeps pumping in every man except Grant show. What does she have against Grant show? Okay. Here's Noah wearing what looks like a lavender tuxedo. He is with his wife.

I believe this is his second wife.

The spray tan is strong with this one. What do you make of this look, Billy? I think his wife is adorable. I love her haircut. It's very cute.

I like it. Another big beard. I'm not a facial hair guy and we've seen Reese. And now we've seen Noah and Ruffalo. He keeps sneaking in there.

But the big face beard. Are you down with that? I have a theory about the beard. I believe the beard is like those. No, no, not what you're thinking.

Not that's too simple. That's too easy for us to be nervous. Okay. My theory about the beard is they are meant to draw the eye down. Away from whatever hair system may be in place.

Hair system.

The current term for what was formerly known as a toupee.

Oh, really?

That's what I think the beards are about.

Or a thinning situation. Or a thinning situation. Some, you know, I don't know all of the tools that are available at once disposal for that. But yeah, no, that's what I think is going on. What do you make of Noah's sort of lavenderish.

Tuxedo. This is a choice. It's an interesting choice. I don't know. It's kind of champagne.

It's got a little sheen to it. It's, it's, it's, I don't know what the color is. But I look anything a man does. The man's got one choice. If you're going to mix it up in any way.

It's the jacket. So you've got. It's so true. Again, unless you want to do like a lapal. Oh, Jimmy Kimmel showed up with his wife will take a look at him in a bit.

Another one who's been let go. He was actually the subject of a New York magazine cover story about a month ago. And they, the whole premise Billy of the cover cover story. I don't know if you read it was how Jimmy Kimmel was now in the driver seat. Because his ratings were higher than ever post the tree.

It was like a post Trump bump like after going against Trump. And how like he was now maybe going to renegotiate. And they really have to shell out even more money to keep him. And instead ABC caught him loose. The death of late night.

It's, yeah, it's all. They tried to cut. I mean, they would have cut him loose before. And they were totally stunned when people came out. And I don't know if they were supporting Jimmy or the Jim to show.

Or just the fact that, you know, it was like a freedom of speech. It was the reason and they came out. And they started canceling their subscriptions that Disney plus and Hulu. And, and then, you know, he won that. He won that standoff. And so they quickly put him back in.

But you know, it wasn't going to be for long. It's, it's just, no, you're loose. This is shit ton of money to produce those shows. It really is. It's just, it's, it's the dinosaur era.

What David Letterman predicted in the New York Times earlier this year is. Excuse me, earlier this year is coming true. He said within the within 12 months. The bulk of late night would be dead and gone. All right, we've got two guys to look at.

First up finally, Marlena said it in my ear. Like, are you satisfied now?

Yeah, I am Marlena. I am satisfied now. It's great show. Let's do it. Jesus, we've asked a long time for things. Not even in a show right now.

Hey, it's a nut. He's got a beard. He's got a beard too. Another beard. But this one is a little more subtle. He's got beautiful flow up top.

This one, he doesn't need a giant bushy beard to distract. Because his situation up top is beautiful. He looks like he's in great shape. He's got wonderful hands. I'm noticing. He does.

I love a manicured male hand. Yes. He looks like he works outside with them and yet cleans up pretty good. So we love him because boy takes me back to right after college, living with the guys. Four dudes from college living in a beautiful place in Glover Park outside a Georgetown.

Just fresh out of college and every Monday night, we would make a little dinner, whatever it was and we would watch Melrose Place. And it was delicious. Those are great memories. I think a grand. I could not agree with you more.

I was in college. Melrose Place was a appointment viewing. My seat to be the episode in which Kimberly ripped off her wig.

Oh, reveal her scar is the stuff of legend.

We had four guys.

We would sit there together and then it would dip the screen.

The screen would dip to black and it would say executive producer rank south. And we would end the boys. We would all stand up and go, Oh, Frank. He's done it again. We give a stand in a location.

Frank, he's done it again boys. It's incredible. Oh my god. I wish I knew you back then. I'm not even kidding. Okay.

We're going to look at Zendaya. Zendaya has arrived. Oh, wow. She looks like a real movie star. We will find out.

Oh, my god. Yeah, we have to get to Bob Mackie. But I think she looks stunning. I think she looks great. Always. I mean, she's she's become one of those people who you know.

No matter what she wears. She's earned guaranteed commentary from the fashion. He's the next day. She's she's a fashion.

She's up there with the SJPs of of all time, right?

Whatever she wears now, it will be discussed. You know, Billy, I have a theory about Zendaya. I don't think she's that great of an actress. I really don't. I feel like you could slot like.

I feel like you could slot any other actress into anything that she has done. I think part of the reason she gets so many roles is because she knows how to play this game. Really, really well. Her stylist while Roach is a genius. She has all of these high profile deals with like high and fashion houses.

She goes viral on social media. And I think that that explains it.

Like I otherwise like I'm never going to him.

Who do you know, Billy? I'll do respect to congrats on all of her success. It's wonderful. But like do you know anybody who's like, "Oh my God, there's a news and day of movie. We gotta go see it."

I'm too. I mean, she's not really mine. Not your generation. No. But still like.

But my kids think she know you're right. My kids my kids think she's gorgeous.

Like she's, they, you know, they're, I think the way she carries herself in the relationship with Tom Holland leaves a lot of mystery.

And so she, she, you're right. She plays everything really well. She hits all the right, all the right beats. I haven't seen any of you for you. So, I mean, that's terrible.

You're missing nothing. Okay. It's glorified pornography. It really is. Okay.

So let's talk a little bit about Bob Mackie who just died at age 87. He was an Emmy winner, a Tony winner. We're going to show some of what for me are like the most iconic Bob Mackie creations. And that goes from share in the, yeah. Yeah.

The turban.

Like you can never get away with this today.

The hat dress. This would be cultural appropriation. And even though share, I believe, is part Native American. Bob Mackie would have been canceled just for, like, designing this. Because he's a white man, right?

Yep. And this was, this, this one was really, really, really controversial in this day. I remember people saying that share was so rude. Because what about, like, the people sitting behind her who couldn't see anything. Was it this the year she won?

Yeah. This outfit was called the down in front. [laughs] I didn't even come on. Man, I can't see a thing.

You see a thing. I don't know what you call that, but it is an iconic piece. What is this? 19? Is that 70s?

I think that's 86. 86. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah.

But he did all of her nude outfits. He was the sultan of sequence, Bob Mackie. Known as the sultan of sequence. And he did her nude outfits from sunny and share. She's the most iconic to work with him.

But everybody, she, she worked with Tina Turner. She worked with Donna Summer. She worked with, um, excuse me, Diana Ross. She worked with all those big over the top sequencey showpieces. Bob Mackie.

Carol Burnett. This, this is seared into my memory. I saw this as a very small child. Carol Burnett, spoofing gone with the wind. And she, scarlet, scarlet O'Hara.

And it was, like, this is the genius of Bob Mackie. Accency Rod.

Do you remember, do you have, and remember, the punchline by any chance?

Yes. For this joke. For this joke. For this joke. Yeah.

For Carol in this. I do not. Like, I think Harvey Corman was playing ret. And he couldn't keep it together. He was, he was struggling not to break.

And she said, um, I saw it in the window. And I just couldn't resist. And then he just went. And then he just went. Oh, my God. And we've got, uh, Miley Cyrus, who wore Bob Mackie to the, uh, her performance.

She wore it for her performance at the, uh, 2024 Grammys.

Um, and then, of course, I didn't know this.

And I thought I knew everything about Marilyn Monroe, uh, the dress that she wore at Madison Square Garden to sing Happy Birthday Mr. President. To John F. Kennedy.

She got from behind, right? Is this the, does she was sewn into that dress that dress?

It was like the original nude dress. It was designed by a fresh customer named John Louis. He got the design credit. But Bob Mackie, a 21 year old Bob Mackie drew up that original design, which is remarkable to me, remark, what a loss. There it is.

What a loss. Oh, uh, oh my God. Yeah. That's overwhelming, right? Yeah, it's incredible.

I know you know how to have a conversation with someone like that. It was standing there in that kind of a nude sort of painting on outfit. And, you know, what would you say? Like, hi. You know, it's interesting because she, she was shot only once with JFK and RFK. And it was at the after party at a private apartment in New York City.

And that room was like filled with intellectuals. And that kind of I think was Marilyn's like, she was, she was intellectually very insecure.

So that was her superpower, right? Yeah.

She could, she could make anybody sort of like just any man, no matter how intelligent, no matter world leader, fall out their feet. Nicole Kidman is arriving, but while we wait to look at her, we've got Sarah Pigeon, who played Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. I don't really know.

I love story. I don't like this. So when NASA asked outfit this time, we're seeing a lot of negligeej's with the spaghetti strap here tonight. Oh, it's celebrating the GLP one or something. Everybody's skinny. So this is a slinky look here. You know what I don't like about this?

You can see her belly button. The dress puckers right where her belly button is. That is a major flaw that should not be happening. And it's got this weird kind of mermaid train, like these feel dated and not in a good way. Like, I really was expecting something really show stopping. Like, like, again, something much more Calvin Kleinie.

This just feels, it feels promy. It feels bridesmaid. I like a bridesmaid's dress to me. I'm disappointed in it. What about the makeup?

The makeup's great. The hair's great. It's cool. I do it great. As a veteran of these red carpets, I was always moved by...

I loved the hair and, you know, the makeup and the amount of jewelry.

The dress, I always liked what before we even got to the dress.

It's a hair situation. It can make her break because you never, you always start with top down. Yeah, the hairdo is brutal. You don't even get to the rest of it because it's like, "Oh, what is that?" Yes.

Yes. And, you know, I don't know the weather conditions. But if you, I can speak as like a non-natural blonde. If it's humid, you're fighting a whole other battle with static flyaways and all of that. So, okay, we're going to get to Jimmy Kimmel in a minute.

But I do want to look at Coleman Domingo, who we captured a little while ago. I find this guy a bit much. You know, when he first came on the scene, I really kind of liked him because he was so unusual.

He's not like what we normally see come out of Hollywood. He's an out gay black man and he really has personal style, I think.

But at this point, I just feel like it's always a lot.

Like it's always out of eleven. And I do wish that Coleman would sometimes just tone it down. Your thoughts, Billy. Show up in a J. Crew suit with some stance myths or something. Oh my god, that would be a revelation.

If I was a twist on East Coast Prap. Yeah, that would actually be great. East Coast Prap would be a strong look. Who was the other guy that was so over the top gay black man, Big show Billy, I loved him though, he was fun.

Oh, he was Billy, I'm Billy, I think he was in anyway. Okay, maybe it'll come back to you. But I think you're right, I think he's always at an eleven.

And you know, that's what my affirmation.

I can't remember the full name. But you get into a place where you're expected to deliver on something. And so sometimes you just got to disappoint. Oh, you're thinking of Billy Porter. Billy Porter, right?

Exactly. Billy Porter. It just got too much.

He would roll a Billy Porter would roll up to like the fourth hour or the third hour of the today show.

You know, it's not like that. And you're like, come on, guy, just bring it down just a little bit. Just give, let us, let us rest our eyes for a moment if we may.

Yeah, you're, you're forgiven.

You're, you're allowed to have a third hour of the today show off here and there.

You are. Okay, we're going to look at Nicole Kidman, the one, the only. Okay, this is interesting.

I think she is dressed like for her third wedding.

I think she is dressed like someone who does not expect to win. I find this an interesting look given that she went through a very brutal divorce with Keith Urban and the color of this or non-color. It's white. Cost to mine nothing so much Billy as the infamous cocaine class, which I don't think had been instituted before. What's in there?

Inclos. Oh, Billy, in there, Prinoff, Nicole had a cocaine class written in. And that said that if she catches him doing blow, he's got to pay up. It was like something like 50K the first time, 100K the second time and it went on from there. Wild. The cocaine class, which made easier by fentanyl, I would think.

Well, this is what I've read and you would know better than I or maybe able to find out. But apparently, if you are a very wealthy and or famous cocaine, aficionado, there is now apparently a machine you can buy that you can run your cocaine through to determine if it's pure or if it is laced with fentanyl. Yeah, here I got one. I'll show you the way. [laughter]

It says, you know, the kids get these things and you get them on Amazon. Not every, not every, but I mean, all the universities, whatever, the kids, the flat boys, you can buy a fentanyl testing kit on Amazon for nothing. I don't know if I would, if I would walk around with Northhand and, you know, fentanyl testing kits. Well, for the days when we were young and it was just like you're just getting fucked up the old fashioned way.

You know, the old fashioned, powdery fluffy blow. I mean, I will say I've never done cocaine in my life, which I'm very great for because I probably would probably would have loved it.

Oh, yeah. Okay, Jimmy Kimmel and his wife. Here we go. Let's take a look. Oh, and then we'll get to Chanel Jones as well. We have Kimmel here, they are. This is like, uh, uh, it's like they're on their way out the door. This is like we're on our way out the door. How many of these is Jimmy Kimmel Bento? He's, he's, he's doing it.

Yeah, he can't be doing this with a ton of passion. I think his wife looks gorgeous.

She's a executive producer of a show in writer. She looks smashing. That's an excellent, beautiful dress on.

Is it Molly Macaroni? Is that an, I believe it's Molly Macaroni? Who in all fairness? I never heard of as lighting up the comedy world until she began dating Jimmy Kimmel.

And she might have to leave reported a job still at Sarah Silverman. I mean, she's a head writer. You know, that was a pretty fast career. A sense if you ask me. Jimmy got into so into Trump or so, you know, obsessed with Trump that the monologue almost sometimes didn't have any jokes in it. No, it didn't. And by the way, we're going to get some McColley Culkin who's on the red carpet with his wife, Brenda Song and Billy, when I tell you this guy looks fucked up. Like he looks like we are seeing. I don't recall seeing this really ever in Hollywood where you're seeing these stars show up on red carpets or press junkets or doing broadcast television appearances.

You know, we saw May she rest, hate and panaceaer doing these interviews for her book in May and she looked and sounded completely out of it. We saw it with Natasha Leone earlier this year. She is apparently taken a step back. There's somebody else we were just talking about on the nerve who also is like, oh, it's um, Anna Faris, who was doing a bunch of press for scary movie, looked very much out of it. And McColley Culkin can barely keep his eyes open on this red carpet. It is so distressing.

Billy, what is your sense of like, you know, are these stars just bound and determined to go out?

Like, I would think that his publicist would try to grab him by the scruff of the neck and say, no, you don't need to be there. You're not nominated. Stay home. I don't know. And Brenda is, uh, is a Disney channel actress, right? Yeah. I wasn't she on her Disney channel, right? Hmm. Yeah. She was, I can't remember what she was on. Is it I currently or something? I don't know. But, uh, I maybe, maybe they have a friend who's a, you know, one of their best friends is in EP of a show that is we're all talking about. I don't know. I mean, I don't know why you'd, you'd want to go.

It's very, it's, it's very, it's why isn't he doing anything? His brother Kieran Culkin has had a tremendous resurgence. He's, um, he was, but why isn't McColley doing stuff?

I feel like, do you remember, you know, this, this is the reason I think this...

They, they both have said their father was basically a monster. Um, but he, remember when he was with Mila Kunis and he was like the, they were living in New York City.

And the word was that McColley Culkin had a very, very heavy drug problem even back then. I think that's what it is. I don't think he can, I don't think he's capable of it.

It's amazing if he still was with the, you know, the guy with the, I don't know, but I mean, if he's been to song looks as squeaky clean as they come. So, uh, it's an interesting pairing. Maybe, but who knows? You know, it could, it could be one of those dynamics where it's like, you know, sometimes it's like a coincidence.

He needs one of those moments where, you know, you just, it all just hits again at a totally different, you know, what does he 45 or something and be amazing?

Yeah, he just had some, you know, the home alone, they've got a mighty imagine. You're known for, you know, what you did at 13th style of any idea what I did at 13th. That's all people don't know. What's he even younger than that? Wasn't he like, eight, you know, home alone?

He was really, really, really, really little. But he was really, really, really iconic too. I mean, like iconic. So it's hard to imagine, I don't know.

The troublemakers are reminding us too, uh, Michael Jackson was hanging around him for a time. And he said nothing ever happened. He was seized outspoken in, in defensive Michael. We will take a look at Chanel Jones of the today show. Oh, Chanel, I go back with Chanel. There she is. Hello, dear. Give us your take. I'll give it to you, Billy, since your pals with Chanel.

Well, Chanel, when I was, uh, I was brought in for the today show 10 years ago, and I was, I was the man of the, of the third hour in Chanel.

And now I got to sit in every once in a while, if like Tamron was out or Al was out. And she was sitting with me. And she was like, can you please?

I just remember like everybody's trying to get up at these morning shows, but she was like, can we do this again? Can we please?

Can I, can you tell them to have me back? And I was like, don't worry. I'm going to be gone in a month. No, I said, uh, let's, yeah, sure. Of course. And she was the nicest. And, uh, you know, I think she's, it's still going well for her. No, she's not there. She's there, right? She's there. She's there. She's there. She does the fourth hour.

Oh, she's with, you listen. Okay. You're paired up with a bush. It finally happened. It's just not me.

Yes, I was being very careful because, you know, that's your relative right there. So, uh, but Chanel, you know, I'm, I'm surprised she's actually at the, at the night time Emmys as a, as a, as a guest and, and not covering it. I mean, maybe she is covering it. But again, we're seeing these trains, which just feel very old fashioned to me. All these trains pulling around. I don't, I don't quite get it. Um, we've got, we're going to look at Brenda song and McColley here. Um, oh, oh, oh, this is okay. So, if we can close up in on his face, if that's at all possible. When you look at them on video like McColley's kind of like, his head is like lolling about like he just doesn't look.

He doesn't look well. This is sad. This is sad. It looks a little like William H. Macy equals, uh, with elements of Bob Harper. Ooh, I like the Bob Harper. With the haircut up top like that. Um, yeah, interesting pant leg. Yeah. She looks gorgeous and again in another nighty with this, what's going on with the nighty's. Everybody's wanting to negligate the Emmys.

Yeah, we're going to try to get a look at Julie on a Marglise who is definitely not wearing a nighty. It's an interesting choice for her, but I agree with you. This is, this is the era of GLP ones and it's the naked dress. She does not look super skinny, which, uh, oh my god. But Julie, a garner is on the red carpet too and she looks super super skinny. We're going to grab. Well, no, I mean, Billy, when you see her, this is like skeletal. For our dearly departed entertainers of twenty twenty six here we believe just perked up alright bill okay here we go in memoriam.

No one is above the law. Oh yeah.

You know Billy that reminds me that in memoriam segment we have not spoken about the person who I believe everybody feels the same way the nomination completely unarmed a total gimmick to try to get this person to show up on the red carpet.

I don't know if you've got a little bit Meghan Markle seems I would have assumed hey why not we're throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Why not show up at the enemies why not hijack the night.

No I mean somebody had she just get crushed I mean it's just it would just be.

You think you'd stay in the cat's world stay in the cat's world baby there's no there's no wind coming to the other and just got there if you were seeing flying all the way back to LA for a nomination in a category you're never going to win the thirst would be too obvious it'd be too much now. See I find that a fascinating theory of the case because I believe Meghan Markle is incapable of experiencing shame or embarrassment even humiliation I don't and I think you know to your point to that point.

Harry is due to fly back to New York City in about a week to attend the Clinton Global Initiative is good about Lord knows what really still going yeah is there booze in that thing. No that's a little that's a little water with electric lights but this on the other hand. Oh my god I love it. Jacqueline Smith has arrived on the red carpet we're going to try to grab her she looks stunning.

I mean I think Jacqueline Smith is a true lesson in how to age gracefully in Hollywood who are you looking forward to seeing tonight Billy anybody not seen.

Jessica I mean oh my god she looks what was the one nobody wanted to be um they're Kate Kate Jackson no but he wanted to be. Sabrina nobody wanted to be Sabrina that's the one.

Yeah yeah I was not allowed to watch Charlie's Angels my mother thought it was absolutely completely a sexist show in which they were always made to run without wearing foundational garments.

So that man could learn at them and I have to say she was right. Yeah I was equally outraged by that as a little. Who's that who's on the red carpet right now wait somebody's showing me someone we've got another.

I think we've got Brooks neater on the red carpet.

Why are you where? Breaker. Okay yeah yeah we got to show her she's in full oh my god Billy okay I'm just going to be cross about it. It's like we're showing off the breast implants we just paid for okay in an address that's like a sequined Baywatch. Take and it's I we've for the culture with this stuff wait Marlena who did you just tell me you had.

Who was we're going to look at was just with Lane Kiffin like a college football the new coach for LSU she's walking into the game with him and.

Now the image she's everywhere she's everywhere.

Alex Earl is all over my thread but I'll tell you this my girlfriend said her show is good you got to watch a little bit of it and I kind of watched it and I kind of like liked it.

Really yeah me I mean it's like I thought Alex Earl was kind of so kind of cute like nice and you know she was.

I don't know I but listen I was expecting nothing. Okay fair enough I just I don't I I find it hard to believe there's a compelling story line there just because I don't think she's a compelling. Well she tells me she gives the Tom Brady you know inside vibes and she shares her you know her life so she gives good to you long the way.

You know who her step mother is.

Yeah sure let's see let's take a guess her step mother is Ashley to pray who is the client number nine of course yes she was in the episode she was an Elliot Spitzer's lady or was. Yes lady.

One that you you have a monetary transaction that caught Elliot Spitzer kicked out of office for violating the man act.

That's right. Oh and the great detail as Bill from Brooklyn reminded me that the New York Post reported was that Elliot Spitzer loved having sex with his black black ankle sex socks on. Who does it I mean that's it. And in wing tips yeah. Okay we're going to look at Paul Anthony Kelly who played JFK Junior okay we're wearing glasses we do not want to be typecast as a himbo. We played one to perfection in love story as JFK Junior he looks like he's bulked up a bit like watch is definitely free because it's outside the notice the cuff right hand behind it so that you can see all of it.

He is getting that for free folks that is or he's being paid to advertise it paid to advertise the watch and no question. He looks good looks like a deep burgundy thing you're right about the glasses same what reason why I wear them I have 20 20 vision but I don't want to hear like that you just cannot you know exactly on were estimated for your intellect bill you can't I got it. It's not that I'm blind I want you to see me as smart and he yeah he's a big handsome guy I don't know where he goes from here he could Clark Kent the thing if they need to see my god he could be in the running for Clark Kent he looks like Henry Cavalle a little bit on the younger side of things.

You know I don't know I think he's taller than Henry and I think I think he's got more charisma I do we're showing Brooks native for you Billy and then you tell me your new your new your new public intellectual your new star tell me what you think of this look. Do I have to what do you have to what I mean I just like I don't I mean just like she looks great she looks great she looks great I just don't know what yeah I don't know what I mean I mean I just there's a lot of yes it's it's beautiful I'm yeah gorgeous there's a lot of this Sydney Sweeney effect right it's like it's boobs out.

Yeah but there's only once we I think Sweeney's in a different category because I think Sweeney is ohnatch is that not I don't think she is oh there's I think so I think so you can't you can't you can't ride that the the this wave of unbelievable

I think I'm a fanaticism in popularity built upon that main feature and it not be if it's something anyone can purchase that's that does not that's not fair. something though I mean dolly was enhanced of course okay so if you can believe dolly was enhanced why can you not believe Sidney may have had a little pause of the softness and I. dolly was dolly was dolly was a caricature she was you know. And by the way I did not you when dolly died my girlfriend of five years from high school into college. Her father.

I mean if I had married her I mean was dolly's surgeon of 50 years Dr. John Grossman oh yeah that could have been another fortune you could have married right into. I know I know my god you practice is in Denver, Colorado and Malibu and he and dolly he took dolly up he took dolly down whatever dolly wanted to go.

She looked she looked incredible up until the very end we're going to look at Jacqueline Smith another.

Oh legend she looks stunning she let's age appropriate the hair is incredible again another one whoever is doing her work her face it's like it's lifted but it's not tight she actually resembles her younger self.

It's incredible.

Very expensive work being done in New York and Los Angeles but you know it's it's the subtlety boy.

I got to tell you a great great little eye job a great little face lift it's a yes for me. I got to some you know it makes you wonder though you know I look at that and then I look at someone like Bradley Cooper and you just wonder who.

How did he not get enough like he's tight with Brad Pitt whatever you think about Brad Pitt his face lift is excellent. It's well known he's had a face lift and it's great he looks he looks like himself but just like he slept a couple of weeks straight and Bradley Cooper went and did that to himself and he will.

Oh is this Mark Ruffalo we got to get Mark Ruffalo. Oh it wouldn't be complete it would not be a complete red carpet without this party known as Mark Ruffalo.

I'd like to hear about clean water filtration and upstate New York. I want Mark. I'm riveted. Yeah and if you could make me feel bad about myself along the way.

That would be great. That head of hair you've got Billy make me feel bad about that.

Too much I know too many showers and credible.

I can't wait till we see Mark Ruffalo who else do we have real fast Marlena.

Oh Ruffalo from Buffalo get him out there. Ruffalo from Buffalo. I'll give this to Ruffalo. He's not only like a keyboard activist you know he does attend a rally or a protest here and there. Yeah but those can those have sort of like the veneer of being chic right like Jane Fonda loves a rally. She loves a protest and if you're the star you're all the way out there although Susan serandon. We're going to look at Jean smart while while I tell you this Susan serandon recently said she can't get hired in Hollywood anymore.

But that's but wasn't in what way was she too left or was she too socialist. I don't know. I think it was the middle.

Maybe she's just too difficult to work. Maybe she just comes on to satin. It's all she wants to talk. Oh there's the winner. She's got more enemies stacked up and yeah in her library. Wow. You're seeing smart she looks she looks great again. There's this like kind of shiny black trend happening where like the top does resemble I love. She looks gorgeous. She looks gorgeous but oh yeah no it's a it's got that hefty bag. She also we're going to try to get this before we run out of time. Jon Hamm just rolled up on the red carpet with his very pregnant much younger wife who.

Oh here comes Mark here comes the party known as Mark Ruffalo you see this guy walking into a room you're running out the other door. Ruffalo looks very swampy. I don't like this if you're going to insist on being in our faces. You don't like properly get some manicuring going on there's a mess. I can tell that he and his wife agree on everything. Why? Because they're dressed in this. No they're just agree. You can tell there's no spirited debate. It's his it's echo chamber. I can just I have that gut that just said they're not James Carville and Mary Matlin. There's no.

It's not a Mensa. It's not Mensa material. It's debating the issues of the day. It's it's it's it's pro Palestine you know marches and we love the word genocide. We say it all the time. Yep. Yeah, we don't necessarily know the definition, but you know okay here is John Hamm this guy who you know okay. Oh, all right. Number one. I loath this guy because he nearly killed a fraught pledge when he was in college. It was vicious. It went on for hours. He was there. Oh, he was the chief hazer and Billy the victim said that what really set John Hamm off was that during this hazing process this pledge for God John Hamm's nickname in the fraught which was.

And I could you not and see Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer time now. Oh Michelle five for rolled up looking gorgeous. We're going to try to make her our last one, but what I also loath him for is you know he was with his girlfriend of decades Jennifer West felt when he was a struggling actor and she was the one who got him on that ladder. She was a writer director actress. She cast him in her movies. She hung with him until he got madmen. The minute madmen was over. He dumps her. He marries the younger background player on madmen.

At the same site in Big Sur where they filmed the madmen finale.

He didn't see the need to get married. Oh, and by the way, he never wanted kids. That was the deal being with John Hamm.

Who wanted kids. Never even terrible father Billy. Oh boy. That happens. That happens got there. Now we're flaunting the pregnant girlfriend who's wearing, by the way, I will say this as a woman. The pattern that that pattern she's wearing that black and white. That is designed to draw as much attention to her pregnancy as possible. She looks probably larger than she actually is. I just hate everything about this guy and I'm glad he got snubbed and I can't believe he showed up.

Well, I'll say can we at least put our attention on her. If she wants the attention, she does look pretty good.

It's no pee in the pod. She's wearing right there. That is it. Hi, and pregnant couture. Hi, and pregnant couture. Okay, we're going to look at Michelle Fyfer, who looks stunning. She's my best friend of the night. This photo isn't fully doing it justice. If you watch her on video, you'll see the gold buckle is it's it's high and I mean, I'm sure this is a high and European fashion house.

I'm going to get a look how freaking gorgeous she is. You've got to be kidding. 67 now, right? 67. I think 60. I have her it's 69 maybe.

Well, that could be maybe 67 maybe that's right. That would be 68. They're telling me 68, but you know, the other thing that's remarkable about how good she looks for a very long time. I believe for decades Michelle Fyfer was a very heavy cigarette smoker. I believe she copped to like a two pack a day habit at one point. And usually no matter the surgical interventions like that can be extremely aging. She's got great genetics no matter the work she's had done. She has great genetics. She has great taste. She carries herself beautifully. She is like a she's a dying breed of movie star just love her.

Two packs a day should give you the cat's ass, right? You know what I mean? Oh, there's lines. Those lines around the mouth cats ass in the mouth, but she defied all of that. So I mean, well, and two packs. I wish I could smoke two packs a day and get away with it. You know, if I knew I was going to make it over the right. I miss smoking zelegant. It's fun. You know, what how do you feel about Hollywood reviving smoking? I quit four and a half years ago after multiple tries.

And I loved cigarette smoking so much. I thought I would never be able to quit. Oh, you did too. Do you still smoke?

I just not only like as a drunk guy. I mean, I was a drunk when I when I cocktail that would I would you know, smoking and drinking. You can't have a drink. You know what I mean? Oh, it's like chocolate and peanut butter. Yeah. So now I have an elegant cigar every once in a while. The beautiful cigar. Nice high quality and I love that. I envy that. I envy that. You know, I like my stress dreams are I smoked one cigarette. And I and I'm like, I can't believe I did that to myself because it was so hard to quit.

But what are you hanging there? Don't do it. No, I know. Now I see I see cigarettes smoking on TV and in the movies all the time and it's glamorized again. And they, you know, it's just such a dangerous thing. It's a real Paul Anthony Kelly. By the way, I'm looking at him on the red carpet right now. He's wearing Clark Kent hair. He's totally Clark Kented himself. Billy, you're right. He's tamping down the sex appeal. We want to be seeing this smart sending a message.

I'm a smart guy who you can like Aaron Sorkin. You should hire me. I can handle really heavy dialogue.

I gotta go somewhere. It can't be a one off. He has got a real moment on his hands right now. This is a deciding moment in this guy's career. Okay. I look exactly like JFK. That's obvious. Can I clear this hurdle? Is anyone's guess? We're pulling for you Paul Anthony Kelly Billy Bush. We love having you. How much fun. Okay. I thank you. It's been my great pleasure. I love you. Thank you for thanks for including me and to love you for doing it. Love you as well. Everybody on the nerve. Thank you. All right. We'll be back on the nerve at night with a full Emmys rap. Teddy is on his way to the sunset marquee with all the other degenerate rock stars.

That does it for our 2026 Emmy live stream at the nerve. We will see you back here on Wednesday evening at the nerve where you'll never guess what we're about to say next.
