I'm good. Do you go anywhere this summer? Do we beach a lot of it? I actually went to just north of Vermont. Took the guy's trip over to border first time. Did he plane? Potten. Pottenot. Just part of Quebec. It was flew in the Burlington. Got a land of land and then drove over to border. So you went up right up the 89 right there. Believe so. Your help. My French is not great, so a couple of spots just had to walk in and say, "Hey, how are you?" And they got it real fast

that I didn't speak French, so they were super nice and spectacular up there. For God, there's actually trees in this country living in Maryland and going to the beach a lot. So it's unbelievable. How good it was. Yeah, Quebec is killer in some spots. It's a lot of spots. So I'm glad you enjoyed it.

All right, we're doing with college football preview. I'll tell you right now, it's always been the

sport that the more emphatic you are, the more I think you're making a mistake because there's so many unknowns. And with the transfer portal just being a new normal with this, there's certain things that gets hard for me to sign off on an offensive line, what if I don't know. Especially if I'm looking at you as hey, can you win a national championship? So there's some of these teams that I really, really like, but I'm like, I can't, I can't say, hey, they're going to win a national championship

until I see what the old line looks like. I think Texas is a perfect example of that, especially when

you think about going into last year. So I know you have your top five. Why don't you give me your top five and then we'll, we'll start in a different area and then kind of circle back around where you have one and two as that's out. Okay. Uh, my top five, I do not have an SEC team in there, but it's

A Notre Dame Indiana Ohio State Miami, Oregon.

no people do at Notre Dame anymore. They put him in the ACC previews, which is really beneficial to the ACC. Yeah, which is fine. And so your big 10 order of the top three that are, these are

clearly like the three teams we have in the first tier of Big 10 play, at least these seem hard

to this. That order again is what Indy, Ohio State Oregon. Correct. Yeah, Indy and on top. All right. I will hear arguments for any three of those big 10 teams being not only the best team to the big 10, but maybe even the best teams in the country. Let's go through it, give me your concerns if we started with Ohio State. What we think are the good things, what we think are the bad things.

First off, like, I get it Ryan with all the preseason stuff and that's why I think it's so crazy

when people get so mad, but it comes down to, you know, are you ranking right now? Like what you think the teams are right now or are you trying to get a little forecasting in there and like that's remove your teams up that probably aren't going to be in the top 20 and be like, hey, see, I told you, I had them there. I'm looking at it right now is what I think of the teams, my personal opinion. With Ohio State, I look at a coordinator change on offense. I look at a guy that's been a main

stay of recruiting all those receivers in Heartline, taking off, you know, I really like Ryan Day. I think he's pretty stubborn in his ways and I look at who he brings in and Arthur Smith is pretty stubborn in his ways. So I just wonder about that. I'm not saying they cannot win an national championship. They're at the top of the list for good reasons. I just look at again the idea of the national championship team, right, with Sawyer and those guys, had the

replace last year's team, had the replace eight starters off that deities and we saw what happened.

The defense was better and that's what's crazy about this is really only at Ohio State or

did they have the expectation that they could do that? So there's that again, like I'm biased, like I have them in the top three. I think they could win a national championship. But again, they got three at the top 11 draft fix and those like aren't, you know, plugging play defense event, like RVL Reese was all over the place. Dallas was probably as valuable as defensive player as there was in the country in multiple sports and he did it on two different teams,

including as a freshman in Alabama, like where an arrow to put him, what they were able to run behind him and front of him, I think you're going to see that shine at the next level too. But the biggest concern is the offensive line. And when I look at saying, I love what he looks like now compared to last year. I thought he did look a little timid in those last couple games, 10 sacks in the last two games. They gave up. They got manhandled by Indiana and Miami. And you know,

lasting impression will get to Oregon. And what they look like the last time we saw him, I'm still scarded at being at that game. But that's that's the concern. And then like what's crazy, though, as only Ohio State could do, you start reading. It's like, all right, yeah, saying our Chris Henry's going to be the next one. And in us is there. I don't see a big name at Titan. You know, they brought him Max Claire last year at Titan. And I've loved what I've seen from that position. What Ryan's

days brought in as far as transfers there. I don't see a big name there. So I wonder about that helping on the edges with new tackles. And then like boat jacks and they're saying to run it with the two. So they got another running back and possibly two more. So again, as only in hose, Ohio State could do, it's it's my new, but it's different. And I think the guys that they lost, I need to see it. I want to see the secondary. I know Sanchez, the corners is the five star was

the top of that class played a lot last year. Expect big things from him. But I just feel better

about say what Indiana has coming back. And that's why I have the Ohio State three.

All right, I think the the most important thing is there's no way like saying is worse. I think

he's going to be fantastic. At times last year, I thought he might be the best quarterback in college football. Now granted, they were destroying everybody, but Bo Jackson is going to be fine. We already know what they have a receiver. And then three of the online are coming back and two of them are all big 10 guys. So maybe, maybe it's it's concern after them getting manhandled in a way that you wouldn't expect, which is kind of a thing that's been happening at Ohio State up front more

than you would ever expect. But again, this has happened in a few different spots. I know like we're going to touch on some of these SEC teams are like, how can they can't block anymore? But I was wondering if you think like this is a worthy point of Ohio State. And the way the big 10 schedule can go

at some time. So they have that Texas game where both teams can't convert a third or fourth down,

Texas actually outgained them. They have the turn over whatever big statement when kind of derails

Texas play.

outscores their opponents 39 to 8. And you compare that with, I think Indiana having to be challenged

by Iowa in that game, which I thought was a tough game for them and a really nice win. The Oregon game, even though Mendoza was a control, that was a tough place that, you know, it's just tough to go into Austin and beat this Oregon team the last few years. They get that done. And then they have that Penn State thriller. I do wonder if it was a bit of a wake up call for Ohio State to go up against Indiana. And granted, like it would have been tied if they had made the field

go kick in the championship game. But they didn't look as good as them. They didn't look as physical. That's that's an alarming thing with two years in a Cincinnati that Indiana can look like the more physical team than Ohio State. I wonder if you think if there's anything too going that long, not being challenged, playing that slower tempo. And then it being more of a wake-up call for them than say it would be for Indiana with a couple of the challenges that they have.

Yeah, I think it's a huge aspect. And then you look, you fast-forward to this year where it's like,

all right, you're getting tested early. You're going on the road early to Texas, Iowa, you know, you have a tougher schedule. There's no bones about it. But when you look, it also is crazy, Ryan, is you look, you mentioned, Ohio State Texas game last year. Like, I was there, I'm watching, I'm like, man, these is toe to toe. And I'm like, I think these teams are going to be different, say, months from now. Like, they're playing the guys that have experienced because it's

such a big game. And they're going to let the young guys play, you know, as the season moves on, and they grow more and they have more practice time. But what happened after that game, it was like, all right, you mentioned the combined scores like, Ohio State, got rid of Texas, they're loaded. Their defense is going to be better than the national championship. And then you look at Texas, who goes to Florida, loses arches, getting his brains beat. And it's like, that Texas, they're not

any good. I'm like, they were right there. If you think Ohio State's that good, then why isn't Texas right there? They had the ball inside of 10-yard line twice and couldn't score a touchdown. So it's crazy the way we look at these auto conference, you know, early games. But yeah, with Ohio State, I think there was a sense. I also thought they played it close to the best knowing that their defense was so dominant. And the teams that they were planning has just weren't

going to be able to assemble. I looked at Coach Saban and what he did at those early years with Bama when he was bringing along, you know, young QBs where it's like, all right, we're going to play

close to the best. We know our defense is superior. And that's how we're going to win games.

We're going to finally beat teams down with our depth. So along the road, you also had to say it

in his first year as a start. And, you know, oh, he's got this guy to throw to in this guy. I get it. But you're still going on the road to Washington who's a capable team. You don't want to screw it up. You know, they're not going to score a touchdown. All right, we'll get the ball in the red zone. And then we'll make a couple of plays. And let's get out of here with a win. So I saw you saw that over the course of the season. And it wasn't this wild thing that we had from the playoff run

the year prior to Ohio State. So yeah, I think you're guilty of that. And I think Ohio State Coach is why do you get punched in the face? I want to see how that reacts, especially with so much change over. You know, we hear about all these quarterbacks that we'll talk about. Right? And, you know, you're reading stuff at camps like, ah, he didn't look that great. And I'm like, well, half the battle of half these quarterbacks is their elucidness.

And when you have a control practice, they can't do that. The whistles are blown. It's a touch, you know, a two hand touch on the quarterback or, you know, in some cases,

don't even touch the quarterback. Stay away from them. So I think there's two sides to it.

But Ohio State is going to be put to the test a lot earlier. And I think you're going to need your offense to step up as opposed to relying on that defense last year. One of the differences, especially with the teams at the top this year in the AP in Ohio State is number one in the AP, which I probably should have mentioned a little bit earlier here. But when you go back to the top eight last year, I think you have four teams where you're going,

you're just assuming that the quarterback's going to work out in a situation that we have no idea. You know, Notre Dame was in that group, obviously Ohio State. I feel really good about saying. It's kind of my biggest takeaway from this. It seems impossible to replace the defensive talent that they've lost, but they've already done it before. And one of my favorite transfers in the entire portal thing is another Bama to Columbus guy here in Quay Russo, who I was watching tape of

him this morning. And there's a broadcast in the Georgia game where you can tell the way Herb Street talks about Quay to the defensive coaches for Bama, where it's like, hey, we're not saying he's the best, but the eyes in Herb Street's line is like, you can see the coaches like the eyes line up a little bit. Like he might be the most talented guy here in Tuscaloosa right now. And look, he got hurt last

year. He missed two months, but it was funny because when he first visited Ohio State, he was like,

I don't know, I'm not sure. And then he would like appreciate it in Ohio State that much more. But now it's kind of turning this thing. It just looks so bad for Bama because it's Caleb it's Quay. It's another defensive line. And saying gets thrown into that mix as well. But you know, look, those guys wouldn't have left if somebody else are still down there in Tuscaloosa.

Okay, so that brings this to Indiana because I like Hoover going into this li...

you're a liar. If you're telling me you like Mendoza better, I really like Hoover. I think it's a perfect fit. And they have the offensive line. They have the defensive line. They have the

transfers that receiver to go with Becker. I don't honestly, I think there's a good argument

that the AP should have voted Indiana number one, not just because they're repeating chance.

I'm always cognizant of that with the defending champ. I think, you know, we should not just throw

them away, but it's hard to do now with all the change over. And I get where people want to run and take things from, you know, moves that are made or guys leaving and stuff like that. But I look at what the, and I, I'm amazed to at the idea of, in the, like last year of 20, I believe in the preseason AP. And, you know, getting it just of what they were going to be. All right, there has been Doza. Not a lot of moves, you know, personalized. Cooper's been there.

Sarat was a J.M.U. guy. The run-and-max, you know, they brought in the kid from Maryland. And, you know, a couple of trades, Coogan obviously was the big name on the offensive line. But then I look at what they lost, but, you know, from a national championship team and you're looking at the NFL draft, you're like, "Yup, draft the draft the draft the draft." You're like, "Wow, I had no idea before the season that those guys are going to be NFL players." And then I go to

the game at Oregon, and I'm like, "Holy Kyle, like, Aiden Fisher can run. This Jones kid is a player, daily up front, manhandled Oregon." So, I look at what they lost this year coming into the year, but I look at what they replaced it with, man. And, Nick Marsh, I know everyone's talking about Camp Coleman as a receiver transfer. Like, Nick Marsh is an absolute stud. And you go back and look at who he was playing with at Michigan State, and probably the worst years we've seen a Michigan

State in a long time, and still producing, and doing it against Big Ten and NFL talent. I think

it's a step up. Becker is an absolute stud that gets thrown away, you know, in this run when Sera and Cooper were missing time that he relied. I mean, that Penn State game before the Cooper

catch, he makes a catch on the sideline. That's incredible. And you're like, "Who's this guy?"

So, and you look at the offensive line, sustainable pieces that are back from a team that has success, and then they get guys from Wisconsin. The running backs, you know, they get Turbo in, they got a program kid. And when you mention Hoover, he's asked to do a ton man at TCU. And yeah, you're going to have inflated numbers when he looks at interceptions. But a quarterback's best friend in the world is a play where he could turn his back to the defense and hand it off. And Indiana

instills that. It's a part of their office. You've heard technology take shots at TCU. Well, saying, "Well, he's going to have a run game here." And I firmly believe that, man. Like, I think that's a huge deal. And I look at Julian saying is being able to do that this year. That's a huge

step where you're just like, you know what? It's first to 10, let me assess things. They're running

guys in and out here. Hand it off. Let's get six yards and have a manageable down. That's the bread and butter of Indiana's offense. They run the football that opened things up in the past game. And then I look at the defense. Like, Ponds is probably at the end of the year, probably my favorite player in college football. And he was a monster asset. And what he was able to do at that size because people kept challenging him. And he won challenge after challenge. But you rotate, you know,

you're they play a field corner in a boundary corner. The other kid will come over. He was the kid that had this interception of the seal National Championship. You still have Jones on a defense. And then what every single coach in America wants, if you ask them, if you could have one thing added to your team right now, defense of line depth. And now with this five and five and getting

daily back in the other kid back, like lines of skirmish man, that's what's real now. And you look

at how a Ohio State buckled up two years ago. And that runs because of their line play on bullsides. And chip figure and out the pieces to move on the offensive line and being able to run the ball and make windows wide open for will Howard. And in the end of last year, I mean, watching that rules bowl back. I mean, I said the other day on our pocket, like they they made Alabama submit. Like, and they they just they just kept taking it to him. It wasn't pretty. And then the scoreboard is like,

wow, that's what it turned into. And you know, they knock a quarterback out who now you're reading. It was 20 pounds later than he was to start the year, which nobody talks about when they talk about the demise of Alabama season last year. So yeah, I just love the way Alabama is built. I look at the coordinators getting the no Brian Haynes. He's a different dude. The way he adapts to his talent. And also, what your offense is bringing to a table, just scary mix, man. And I just they there's a

trust there and you know, sick days going to have guys motivated. So I think right now, they're built better than any other team. And it's mostly because of those lines of scrimmage.

Hey, I'm going to give you an Oregon stat here, which is pretty incredible.

Conley, ESPN. So if you look at teams that have not played in the national championship

over the last three years, Oregon is 37 and zero against teams that have ended up in the national title game, Oregon is one and five. So you want to talk about the Indiana win against Bama being a learning for Bama, the game against Ohio State, which even though it was close, like you don't you didn't end that game going, oh, I feel great about Ohio State after this, like, what just happened there? You know, they get their ass kicked a little bit, even though

the score didn't indicate it that way. And then you have the Oregon game from the job you're like, okay, this is an absolute nightmare here. Oregon is another team. Like, you think about who they have back at receiver, like, Stewart's going to be back, Moore's going to be back. So you already have

a proven player in there and Dante Moore, who's like tier the top of the highs been finalist stuff.

There's so many guys in the defense that you like, the remade secondary that goes with two studs that are already in place there on top, everything else. And so it's another one of these teams that all these hopes were unlike, okay, so they're going to have a tackle from Yale. So what's where do you put the offensive line here? Is it in the Ohio State conversation? Is it in the Texas conversation? Because it feels like Indiana from an offensive line standpoint is less concerning

at least today in August than it is until we start seeing how these teams look. Exactly. That's that's the way I look at things. And Oregon, you know, I put behind Ohio State because there's, I mean, look at that offensive line. There were guys that got drafted that, you know, at the being of the year, like, yeah, okay, that wreck guard's nice and he's okay. And all right, oh, again, kind of only two years ago, but now you got to do it again. And when you look at Oregon,

the other side of the line of scrimmage is the one that opens my eyes more because when you, everyone knows they're four downline. And now, you know, they're the, you know, the most known force I'm coming into this sport this year. But when you dig in and you look at who rotated with those guys, they're all gone. You know, Notre Dame got one, Mississippi got one, Georgia got one,

maybe LSU. So in a day and age where you have to have that, they, you know, if they were no

packs, well, I wouldn't worry about it. But now you're in the big ten, you know, you got to go to USC early in the year, you know, you play, you go to Columbus, like you need depth there. And the other thing I look at with Oregon is, is, is coordinator change, double coordinator change. Right. And those were special dudes, man, like, we'll talk about, you know, least favorite things that you're moving around. But like, Will Stein is a guy who was off at Scourney or Oregon, took the Kentucky

job. Like, I looked at him as having one of the toughest jobs at a major program when he took that job after Dillingham left because that year, Dillingham had bone next playing better than I've ever seen bone next ever. And then Will Stein comes in, it's like, all right, you're the new off at Scourney. All right, what do I do? I just had a kid come off the career year. He's going to be an NFL draft pick. Like, do I bring my offense and make him do that? Or I, I got to humble myself and do what

they're doing. And I got to do the learning. And I thought he didn't unbelievable job. And then you have Dante waiting in the wings. So I look at the double coordinator change. I look at the line of scrimmage where I want to see more. Dante's going to put up numbers. There's no doubt you mentioned Evan Stewart, who's who fresh off an injury, supposedly looks incredible. More was the number one receiver in last year's class. Saw him go on the road early. I also will say Oregon didn't

have their full strength at the end of last year. You know, they were down to their third or fourth

run-and-back in that peach bowl. Obviously the receivers were done. I think Sadieq was, you know,

on his last limb, like being asked to do more and more. And you know, I always asked the quarterback

people, you know, you know, McShay and those guys that do their valuations. There was like, do you have a checkbox in there where it's like yes or no for like fourth quarter on the road? Like that's I want to see that. And Dante, like I just want to see more, you know, like I'm at the Penn State game. You know, had chances to nail that game away didn't get it done. Makes, you know, four or five unbelievable throws at the end of Iowa saves their season there. But I just want to see

more from Dante more, you know, at that position. I get it. He's got the experience. He's got the traits. His, his size looks a lot better. He's built better. So that's where it comes into me when we're talking about all these quarterbacks. I just want more from Dante. And I'm curious how fast we'll see that with the, with the questions that I have as far as the coordinators in the line play and

protection. You have no name number one. Why do you think they're one of the national championship?

I think the defense is the best in the country. I think the offensive line will be at top two, two, maybe top group in the country. I think CJ Carr takes the monster step this year.

I look back and what he looked like against Miami in the first half compared ...

half an AM, where he's in the shootout and he's got to get this thing going. But I also look at a game

and you know, against USC, where his guys helped them out. He didn't play well on that stage, but you talked to people around the program and he's got the goods. He's got it. If people want to use that term. But I also look at Dembrock, the offense coordinator there as a guy. I think it gets passed over so much. You look at the places he's gone and the people he's worked with in the success rate he's had. I'm not going to worry about the running backs at Notre Dame. Like I'm just not going to worry

about who's getting the ball at Notre Dame or Oregon or Ohio State or Michigan. Like I'm just

not going to worry about that. So if that's what you're pointing to is the two run backs. I get it.

We haven't had two run backs taking the first round. I don't even know. I saw this that. I think it's

over 20 years. But I'm not going to worry about that. But I did defense, winter moors, the best player in my opinion. And you look at the linebackers back and the defensive line. I look at the edge guys that are a year old. They're going to, they look ridiculous in the videos I've seen and how big and fast and strong they are. And Ryan, I might be looking too far into something or trying to take a point point to it. But I absolutely hated the decision not to play in the ball game last year.

You know, whatever that reason it was, I thought it looked pretty selfish. But I will say this. Being on bad teams or underachieving teams in college, being a part of that, it brings a

totally different mindset to your offseason workouts. Like coaches don't have to

be the asshole and get in your face and make sure you're finishing past the line or doing an extra sprint. Like there's a mentality there where it's like, we're not letting this happen again.

I think that's instilled in you. I hear you talk about the NBA all the time in series play

where it's, you know, a built-in motivation or, you know, you can't calibrate, you know, what a team is one up one oh, I suppose the down oh one. And I think that's like kind of a long lines here in motivate. I think these guys are old enough. They're getting paid now. And I think there's an expectation at Notre Dame where they've taken this thing by the reins and they're, they're ready to go and they're built for it. And on top of that, you know, when your piece in these top four or

five teams, I think they're all in the same category, yeah, I'll look at the schedule. And I, my Emmy's schedule's probably easier than Notre Dame's. But I think they're going to be able to do what they want against a lot of their competition. And on top of that, they don't really play any quarterbacks. So I think that defense is going to feast and only get better. And I hate saying extra motivation, you know, when the ball gets kicked off, it gets kicked off. But there's something

about me in Notre Dame that has bad taste that I'm, I'm willing to back. Yeah, let's strike the schedule stuff, you know, between Miami and Notre Dame on this one, like I see Notre Dame in the mid 50s, 60s. Miami generally is considered a little bit tougher, but it's not like we're talking about a top 20 strength schedule. And then, of course, things will play out a little differently. Yeah. So having Miami, too, obviously, no issue with it. And the thing is, when I look at

his stats after the fact, I'm like, this guy is so good. And yet, when I watch, I'm like, I'm not sure. And I don't know if that's sometimes watching too many games, watching the Illinois game. We're beginning in the year. I'm like, yeah, yeah. And then, you know, they lose the terrain game with all of the storylines around the table, considering what Duke had done to them, and then raids them. But then, look, lights it up against Clemson, the Sun Bowl game. So there's a lot

that's in there. I'm, I'm asking you, like, am I wrong to think the stats are actually like in like a rounding up of who he's been? Because the stats are awesome for him. And I'm like,

I don't know that I think of him that way. But obviously, it's a no-brainer to bring him in there.

I'm not criticizing at all. And I expect he's going to be great with Miami as well. But sometimes I'll just look at some of this stuff being like, kind of, I don't know that I felt that many, like, I don't know that I felt like that was the guy that I watched every Saturday. I also think he does every single thing better than back. I really, I mean, well, yeah, right, talking about my favorite guy here at back. So I should love the men's up here.

Deep all accuracy. And also, somebody, I forgot where I read it. Somebody was really breaking down. It was, like, completion percentage based on drops. And he had the highest. So it meant like, if he didn't have as many drops or accuracy, you know, where the ball was accurate and it did it go right. His numbers would have been that much better. So I look at as an upgrade. I don't

Doubt Alex Meribald, the offensive line coach figuring out the offensive line.

to have NFL guys right away. But they got a five star tackle that, like, when Meribald who's

just thought of, and then on top of that, you have Mario, like, when those guys are like, he's plugging in and playing, I'm like, oh, well, I guess he's got the goods. So I'm not worried about that. And then I know it's crazy to say a defense is going to stay as good when you lose a bane and mezzodore. But I look at, you know, what the new DC did. And I look at just the speed and the guys they, they, I can tray or still there. And then the kid from Ohio's are Boston College,

isn't an absolute killer at safety. Like, people are going to just go crazy for him. I think

it's Omar Hopkins. So I look at them as being right there. And I think Malkai, you know, he's going to be able to do whatever he wants with that schedule. Like, I was saying throw a flyer and him for the high as the trophy. He's going to be throwing passes running on碼 returns. Like, he's going to be able to do a lot. And he looks like he got thicker. I love his mindset. And when you talk to him, he, there's not a lot there. But man, when you put on the tape or watch

him in person, he's just different. Man, like, he's not your 65 guy. But I mean, just makes play after play after play. So I don't move my amy down that much far. And they're right there. They're right there. And if, if they don't win the ACC this year, then they shouldn't be allowed in the playoff. Like, we haven't seen it. We'll see them win a covered championship game. That has to end this year. They're absolutely loaded.

Hey, I mean, other than at Notre Dame, there's no one else that's ranked right now on the schedule. At least at Notre Dame, you get the BYU trippy of the Miami game. They've got SMU later in the season as well. So the strength of schedule stuff that I've looked at has Notre Dame with the weaker schedule between the two. And of course, we all realize these things can change. But I mean, if this doesn't line up for Miami again this year. And that's where the ranking stuff can drive me crazy

sometimes because it's like, all right, are you, are you ranking these teams to your point? Like, who you think and win this whole thing? What you think is happening right now? Or is that why Penn State's 18th? Because the schedule is fucking dog shit real quick. Do you want Penn State in the playoff? I kind of do. Yeah, I just be like, yeah, cool guys. Awesome. They're, they're in that tier. They're that next tier of, I'm starting to think that two of those teams to get in.

When you, I hate that I'm not doing it because I'm not putting Iowa in that tier and every time I do it, they make me look dumb. But there's a tier of Michigan, Washington, USC Penn State.

I think they all play each other, which is awesome. So I, I see where you're saying you

put down this Penn State thing with the schedule since it came out. I love it. But I, I look at that, that turnover. And I'm like, I just, the roller coaster to Penn State was, I'm like, I remember the day, the Saturday after Franklin got fired. You know, we went to FAMIL and he's like, you know, I, I would think it's probably going to be one of the mats. It's Matt rule or Matt Campbell. And then it just took off. Like, they weren't even considered. They stayed, you know, rules

said no. And then it was NFL guys and, and all these major college people that were saying, no, then it was like this, the talking thing was going to leave BYU and you're like, they're not going to have a coach. And then to end up with Matt Campbell, I think is a monstrous win from what it possibly was. And no one that is Penn State. So I, I think there's some verification there.

I also, you know, would love to see a story about the Penn State guys that stayed. Because I think

that's an awesome story. You could do that at Auburn. You could do that at Ole Miss. But I, I just, I think there's some verification there about who stayed, who came with them. And I,

I've just always been a Rocco Beck fan. The way he's going about it. It's not the prettiest.

He's not going to while you were in his arm. But being at Iowa State and winning games like he did for him to be on this stage at such a prestigious program with history is really cool to see. So I, yeah, I would be fine with Penn State being in the playoff and then being like, all right, let's see what you got now. Yeah, right. Again, the bill commonly stuff that I keep referencing, like the continuity charts and the returning production, all that kind of stuff is like really good.

And then he like makes this point on how Penn State sure like they're bringing in all these guys from Iowa State. And I love the Rocco Beck store. I like Rocco Beck games. But he makes a really good point. It's like, okay, even though there's this implied continuity here, the general talent across the board that's being brought in from Iowa State, we're ranked in these supposed disappointing

Penn State years. The talent level was always considered like a pretty significant level above

What Campbell was doing at Iowa State.

wait, is this actually going to happen? And then you realize like the boosters of places like this are actually going to let this happen. Yeah. But then there was even the time with Campbell. It was like that he missed his window of being kind of the hot guy and then he lands it obviously a prestigious place that doesn't play Indiana doesn't play Oregon doesn't play Ohio State. Granted, they've got

USC. They've got Michigan there. I think they've got Washington as well. But you know,

out of comforts for them is never anybody. And I think there's a like if Campbell can like write it

in the two games go their way and they're sitting there at 10 and two, like they're going to end up in the playoff. Although we need always assume who the other two teams are or the other teams in the 10 and two category. Raising Cains is turning 30 this month to celebrate the milestone, Cains is hosting a 30th birthday pop-up museum in Baton Rouge located directly behind the original restaurant. The mothership Todd Graes will be unveiling the museum on August 25th in honor of

30 years of Cains. The brand is also launching a commemorative 90s plush puppy available beginning August 26 featuring Cain in her 90s best net proceeds benefit pet welfare organizations. I know if I were going to be there in the 25th, what I would do, I'd be like where are the

Cainiac combos. I'm going to be like, hey Ryan, you go to hear the speech first. I'm like,

I don't know, it smells like chicken here and I wouldn't mind getting a couple fingers. I'm usually a no-slag guy, but I make up for it with extra sauce and if I'm feeling just outrageous, no one's looking all over extra finger. I'll do it. I don't have to answer to anybody. It's one of the reasons I didn't get married, so I could just say two extra chicken fingers. I don't care. No one's in charge of me. Raising Cains, chicken fingers. One love. So we made it 30 plus minutes and we haven't

talked about an SCC team because look, I am with you. I cannot make the case for any of the teams. I had at least those three in the big ten. I'm a little surprised that you didn't just find a way to put one of them in your top five, which again, I'm not like arguing with you or being mad about it. Georgia was the AP's number three team. Texas was the AP's five. I think Indiana is too low

in the AP and coach is pull it six. Although they did get the first place votes. Georgia and Texas

did not. Then there's an M then it's kind of Ole Miss and then it's just like a run of SEC teams

where let's face it. A lot of us don't know what to do with them. If you have to make an argument

for the best team in the SEC, who is it right now? It's so hard to do because Georgia is just manhandle Texas and everything they do. But I look at the idea. I mean, this gooseby news is huge. It was the left tack. It was a pro prospect for Texas who went down in practice and they said, "Now it's going to be a bone bruise. You should be ready for a house that that's huge." Because that's my biggest question. What Texas was the offensive line? I don't think they're

going to have your typical roll your sleeves up and get after your ass offensive line. They haven't had that but they've won plenty of games not doing that. But they needed to be better. It's got to be better because when you watch Texas back from last year, I mentioned how I was they came earlier, they didn't realize who they were. They kept playing different guys up front and Arches just

getting battered and hit. There's a play, the second and the last play of the game against Flores,

a guy running right down the middle of the field and he doesn't see him because he's got his eyes down on the offensive line and it just took them a while. All the shark shifts and motions to get guys in space. You didn't see it because he was trying to simplify things for Arch and obviously on top of that, everybody put Arch in the high school ceremony before the season starts. I just think it was a whirlwind that they thought they could possibly see happening but it just went way faster and they

dug themselves out of some trenches that could tuck you in Mississippi State where I'd given credit for winning. If you lose those, it's a whole another thing you got to answer to. But I look at what they've they've given for given to Arch for toys. I mean camp colon's an absolute specimen. You've seen the videos. He is that good for anybody that maybe got it lost in the Auburn stuff and you were talking about was at Marshall Michigan State and what he was dealing with. It's the same thing for

Coleman where you run through like them trying to figure out who's going to be running the offense every single week. Coleman is that special. Like I don't I mean the how many guys would you put ahead of? Obviously it's Jeremiah Smith. It's Tony at Miami. I don't know outside of those two that I'm going to say like in fact, like I know Ryan Williams, freshman year Ryan Williams,

I would put ahead of him.

transfer portal deal, especially with already the stuff that they've had in place there.

And this is, you know, I think about it, you know, the kid that the packers drafted, he had a good

season for circuit Texas. I'm thinking about other receivers and they don't come to the level that camp Coleman is. And it's funny, you know, last year Coach Saban just telling a story about having Sark on his staff when they had Mac Jones and then he's like, and they lose Jalen Waddle. He's out for a year. And Saban's just like, man, we got a young quarterback. He has played a lot. He's down, you know, maybe our most valuable receiver. And Sark literally was just like couldn't

be more excited. And Saban's like, what, what's, what's the, why, so why are you so all right with this? He's like, we're going to be fine. The Vante Smith, we have the Vante Smith. He's going to win the high as we trophy now. So just be ready because he's going to get fed the ball. And what happens is the Vante Smith gets forced, man, like an animal. And he's, and he's even returned in pods. And he's has a, you know, the last receiver to win it. And so now I think about Sark

getting a piece like that. And I'm like, well, Jam Cole, when I'm, I know he got paid pretty handsomely, he, they're going to get through money's worth on him as long as he stays healthy. And I'm like, that's exactly what Arch needs. That's exactly what Sark wants that to have that guy, you know, to, you know, to, you know, look at the NFL level. Like, you know, you look it, go through receiving groups. And it's like, who's the one, who's the one A? They got a one A.

So I look at Texas is having the pieces. I also think there could be a, you know, a learning curve. And Simmons is as good as there is off the edge in the sport. But Will's coming in, you know,

as Will Mushamp coming back to Texas. And I think Sark, you know, wanted more of an attacking

style. And, you know, to play these hyper speed games and Will Mushamp's going to do that. Is it going to be pretty early on? I don't know. Is it going to be effective enough to be Ohio State? I would think so. But you have, you know, these changes where it's like, okay, we're going to have some changes there. We're going to, we're going to go for, you know, all gas, no breaks is what Sark says. You're going to get that style this year. Why would have

them over Georgia? It's just, I think, big play capability. I look at Georgia having more of a foundation now when he comes to offensive line. Like, those guys that are playing, they have the five, like they want to play in that position, you know, where each guy has a position. They're not worried about who's rolling the right guard or left tackle and death on defense. You saw that last year. I thought Kirby was really good at SEC media talking about, you know, you didn't get

quarterback on the ground. You know, that's not enough. That's not the Georgia standard. He's like, we got to him. He's like, but we didn't make plays off of it. And so I think there's an airy confidence about, you know, Kirby and his group this year, because they don't have the wild factor. You know, Gunner Stockton's his solidest there is. So they're going to methodically beat you down. And I think they're totally fine with that. They're not going out and getting a camp Coleman

at wide receiver. I think he's instilled in this program. Like, we're going to, people are going to get compensated for, but we're going to go about it this way. And I think you see that in the same I just think it's been unfortunate the way their seasons have ended. You know, you hit a lightning rod against Trinidad last year and sugarball in the year before what no one talks about. They didn't

have their quarterback. Those Gunner Stockton's first start against Notre Dame. So I know everybody wants

to pile in the SEC, but that's the champion the last two years and that's what's happened to them.

And I'm not taking anything from away from the teams at beat him, but that's what happens. And I think

Kirby's more than happy to go about the way he's going about this season and instilling aggression. Austin, point that he likes to say, this is a good point to kind of like transition into the inevitable conversation here. But, you know, if you compare the big 10 in the SEC, it's hard for me to argue any of the teams in there ahead of the three that we discussed, which I've already said, but like, normally I, not going into a year, going like, hey, I think there's three teams that

are fairly better in the big 10 than any team in the SEC, but it's Texas in the online. Because I'm not remotely worried about arch. I was watching this game, Brunler set up of these rips of arch and just how good he is. It's not his running, it's his mobility in the pocket. It's clearing the past rush with a step here, Tom Brady shit. We're Tom Brady couldn't crack a five in the 40 and then it's like, yeah, but he's actually the most mobile quarterback inside of the pocket and

some of the stuff that you see in this piece that he has up on the athletic, it's just just really,

really, but sure shit for a half way through his first season figuring out, let me get out of this rush,

keep my head up and then just find myself into a throwing lane where I'm throwing with the anticipation, not throwing, doing open receiver throwing to the spot, hoping he's going to be open. So like, I thought arch was having some decent statistical games that I would watch in the beginning of last year,

That I thought were overrated and as the season progressed, I do, like, if th...

just average with him having, it might be a blessing to skies that he had to play with an online that just couldn't hold up and that he had to figure out ways to keep himself alive back there. But on the SEC's bigger part of this, I'll tell you right now, like running through the schedules. Again, especially with the nine games now with the SEC, you can play out the exercise. When there's the

big noon kickoff big 10 game and then there's the NBC peacock, like second big 10 game, put that up

against the second best SEC game. Like, I'm going to tell you, most weeks, you're going to go, I can't believe like this is being build is this awesome marquee big 10 game. So the SEC is not had, despite my feeling of like one through the bottom of the conference, it's still deeper than the

big 10. It's just so weird that we're now in a year for this and I can't point to this team that I think,

like, is at that level. It doesn't mean the Georgia can't figure out. It doesn't mean that LSU can have this great season. I know people still like ANM a lot and maybe it's Texas. But I don't, I don't know and that unknown part of it on top of like, hey, Illinois beat Tennessee in a bold game.

They beat South Carolina before that. These bold results between the two conferences. Now years of this

where you're not getting that 55 to three shit, you're like, why are we talking about this? So this shift has happened. And I wonder what it's going to look like a couple months in. Like, we'll probably just talk ourselves into the undefeated SEC team at 5-0 and 6-0 being like, oh, they can win a national championship. And it may have just as much to do with schedule, but it does do with how good that team is. And it's, it's a very weird feeling for this conference

that into year four. It's like, I still don't know who that team is. That's better than maybe into the teams that you've run through. Yeah, it's, it's pretty crazy. Especially like when you look at the quarterbacks and everybody has their difference of opinion and you look at the big 10 teams, you know, you bring it over, we establish, you know, we expect him to have a super solid year.

Dante right now, I believe is, is the favorite to be the first quarterback

taken. Julian Sand has all the toys and we expect him to be better. And I look at the SEC, you know, well, God, my office, yeah, I mean, just even though these missing a ton of receiving production from last season, my office is awesome. So don't worry about USC replacing receivers. Just don't ever worry about that. I don't think they are worried about it. They haven't been in my lifetime. I've seen it happen in my face plenty of times. So I just, I look at the teams,

like those those top teams, like arch, he's still got a higher ceiling to get to, you know, even stocked in when his new toys to play with, you know, they're going to do it differently, but there's a ceiling they can get to, turn it out with Ole Miss. He's going to get you a ceiling, to a ceiling. So there's another level for the SEC team's to take. They just have to do it.

And, you know, Tina, we haven't even mentioned his Alabama. Like, it's, it's crazy to me

that I like both their options a quarterback, by the way. Oh, yeah. And, let her off its mind, they're off its mind is not going to be as bad as it was last year. It just kept up just telling you. It's not going to be. And then we start looking at their schedule, like, how are they going to matriculate these things? And, you know, all the SEC coaches, you know, bictionary about the ninth game now, because they know that there's going to be some damn good teams at nine and three,

damn good teams. How many are going to get in? One, maybe not even one. So there's just all this politics in. But, yeah, I mean, just look at the AP pole alone in that next group of, you know, LSU Ole Miss Oklahoma, Alabama, they're right there. They all can win the conference. And if you can win that conference, in my opinion, still, you could win a national championship. So I'm, I'm not that worried. The numbers haven't worked out. And the big ten is striking while I

aren't hot and, and talking their shit, which they should. It's been a long time coming because when I do the math, this is three straight as opposed to 13 to 16. Yeah, that's good for that. So it makes it fun. It makes it crazy when we go on the road for these games. And it's just about, everyone still has the what about us mentality, which is great. But I just, whether in your way through a schedule now in, in trying to, you know, recruit

guys that are on your team right now and re-recruit them so that you hope they're staying,

it's just something that the sport has never seen. So it's as healthy as it's been.

I just thought it, I mean, on top of the SEC rank, you know, teams out in the top five, or what was a Georgia, you said, was three? Yeah, Georgia's three. But so there's Texas's five.

70, 71 AP voters, not one voted for an SEC team first place.

no Texas, no ANM, no Ole Miss Oklahoma, let's see you, and obviously you just keep going. Yeah, so it's, it sets up for awesome theater. I can't wait to be like Ohio State Texas again, we too. I mean, we're not going to overreact to that one, are we? I mean, good lord. I just pointed out earlier what we did the last year's game. So yeah, I get it. The three national

Jamies, and I'm glad you pointed out like the Illinois Bowl games, because the SEC would always

throw that in their face. So it's, it's hotter than ever, and I think what makes it great is no

one knows who it's going to be from the SEC, which, which sets up for an awesome season. Okay, a couple rapid fire questions. All right. LSU has the number one ranked portal class 41 guys. How the fuck was Brian Kelly there for that many years, and they needed 41 new guys to start up 2026. I don't know. Like this, this, I never thought UCLA's at 42 new guys. Yep, Michigan State's 34 Oklahoma State's 55.

Yeah, they basically just said he were bringing the whole team here, but then it's going to still war.

That was when I looked at that, because I mean, they've got three five stars in that class. And

obviously love it, who, you know, it was very Jackson Darsh to me. Like I love it when it works,

but I'm scared of death, the entire time, and considering with the injury history with him, it's

like he's a lot of fun to watch. I mean, he's going to play his ass off for you. I'm not worried about his toughest or any kind of stuff. It's just like, how's he going to hold up? I just couldn't believe that number 41 incoming transfers for an LSU program that you're like, and do shout out to Brian Kelly, he did like a preview. Yeah. Yeah, you got to go the whole thing. He was like, yeah, fucking available. Well, a lot of guys I don't know. Yeah, I, I, I, I feel for Lewis and those guys

in your equipment room with that change over. No one thinks of those guys. That's a lot of that. That was promise to take place. No, you weren't. Here's, here's, uh, here's another stat. This is my favorite stat other than that Oregon one being 37 and O against teams that are not playing in the national championship game. Our guy Marucci down there, LSU since 2000, LSU wide receivers that have played 10 plus games have an 86% chance of playing in the NFL. So what David says, you could walk

down the street and find out why I just hear her fall out of a tree in that state. That's amazing.

It's amazing. From a guy that had three first rounders and like a what second round tight end,

all the same time during that game. Uh, I give me your favorite transfer. Oh, man. Mr Clark Purdue. Now, Mr Clark. Mr Clark. He's a, yeah, he's available. That's his first name. Boyle up. I'm, I'm going to be biased towards the position. I because like you talk about these clean palettes. This team's up there with transfers to Virginia Tech. Luke Reynolds was a kid. It was a number one recruit at the position on the 24 class play behind Tyler Warren kind of got

lost in this shuffle last year. Uh, but he's a Massachusetts kid. What's Cheshire Academy. He's got the total skill set. Um, and I think as, as that team, as James tries to ramp up that, uh, you know, gruck a mile ago in there, like familiarity and in that conference where I don't know what the next series, like we talked about. You just went through the big time to SEC and tears. As you ACC,

it's Miami and everyone else. I don't care what you think in my, in my estimation. That's what it is.

So I look at Virginia Tech as, as a team like you're talking about hot change and getting, you know, momentum going, uh, a lot of guy stayed. Yeah. Luke, I mean, the DC, the, he's there. How crazy is that? I know he was the DC at Penn State, but you just got fired three games into a season and he's standard. So it, it tells you, I guess there's a loyalty and in Blacksburg, but Luke Reynolds is a guy that, um, I think is going to be at the forefront, uh, when you're talking about postseason awards,

Mackie and all that, I mean, he's a monster here for Virginia Tech. Okay. I love that one. Um, Mr. Clark is not my pick, even though I just want to give him a shout. It's funny because I asked you a different one, which we're going to do next. You're least favorite transfer, and it doesn't have to be somebody you don't like. You just mad, maybe you like him that he's at this place, and you guessed my favorite by being my least favorite. And that's Henry Daley there.

Who, if you didn't, what, and look, I'm not blaming anybody for watching. Even when I was talking

About Duke's quarterback, I was not like I was watching every single Saturdays.

season Miami here, but watching Henry Daley defensive end, John Henry Daley, um, from Utah, the granted. Bruptured the Achilles. I'm a little shocked that blowing out as Achilles last season, and apparently he's still good to go or whatever, but I loved him. Um, he shows up throughout the game. It's not just about the stats and the fact that he's with winning him there. I, I love it. So, I, I totally agree. Uh, reading about, um, you'll love this. He got it. He has a chef now.

He's read already. He's got a chef. Yeah. It sounds like he's on a snap count, um, which I think is

awesome at Michigan, because they always have freaks at defensive line. So more guys for that second

game against Oklahoma. Uh, I think it's awesome. But, uh, yeah, now the kid, I think you can minimize this. What kind of winning games about. I also think he made the most of going against two, what, top 12 tackles Utah head last year. They both got taken in top to like, that's where we went against every day. And, and, and I think you saw a dude, uh, go out there. He's not example, blow your way with, with size and speed and measurables and all that, but he's a damn good football player.

I think Michigan fans are going to love him. I could have gone, came Coleman. I already talked about Kway Russo, who I can't wait to see kind of in this. That's your final state, guys. Those two. Yeah. I mean, there's some other headliner ones. I mean, I want to ask you a

little bit about your boy, Michael Bennett III, who's going to be playing tackle, uh, out of Yale

for Oregon. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know if he was locked in and speaking of Oregon is that Kway kid in the secondary. It went from, oh, yeah. This is the kid from Minnesota. Oh, that's great.

I've, now I think I've read about him 17 times. Like if he's not fucking D on Sanders, even though

granted, he's playing the middle of the field. Uh, he gets mentioned now more as like top transfers than I probably expected. Especially again, some of the headliners, all the quarterbacks, are kind of the headliners. Well, it's stuff. But I wanted to throw at these two in there. Yeah. I thought it was interesting that the year before Purdue's best player was a safety theme in, uh, he went what top 20 in the draft in Oregon. I just wonder if they, I don't even know

if, yeah, they think they played them. That year was just like watching the game back and you're like, yeah, we'll have him next year. And they do the same thing with various. It's like, oh, yeah, we'll just, we'll, we'll get him next year. Uh, and so a little Paul George Celtics is what you're telling me. Yeah, it's just like four, four PJ Fleck and, and Purdue had go like, oh, man, I guess we're not good. We can't have guys too good. Uh, yeah, right. I mean, that part of the portal things

suck. It's true. It's like, hey, at least we know who to not waste our time on in high school. Yeah, like we go, oh, yeah, it's a six, seven freak from Opalaka. And then we're not, we're up here at Vandy. We're not going to offer him. Like, we know it's a complete waste of time. And then when you have your own guy in and you develop them. And I need to track it a little bit more because I was looking so much of the portal stuff. And it's like, it felt like the ACC's portal was a ton of guys that were

lower level. And then it felt like the big 10 in the SEC were just picking off other power four schools. I think the great history piece that could be written is guys that went to the big schools who were a by game. Like it goes back to Jared verse was that freaking all right. Jared verse was that Albany and they're like, Florida say comes in the next year. We got this guy Jared verse from Albany. I'm like, wait, they played Albany last year. All right, he he wrecked our world. So we're

going to just go get them. That's that's an awesome because there's a ton of those out there. I think Texas, Texas had a Texas state guy. Like, it's it's just you do the you connected dots. It's unbelievable what you could do. I need to go through and like sort it through power four and then

non p four schools. It's a problem. You just you have to have it as a cut off. Like, if you did

because now, I mean, I looked at Illinois. Illinois just went jukego. Like, I haven't seen that in a year. Like, they went, I think six or seven straight jukego guys. Iowa went FCS skill guys. Right. So like, there's no cut it like, where are you cutting it off? Like, I mean, we've trained it at and now money. Bill of Ryan took the quarterback from Saginaw Valley State, who was in Ferris State's league,

the vision too. Oh, I can't believe you're never the league. Oh my god. I'm like, so this is where

we're going now. The vision too. We have to keep stat, you know, checkboxes on. So yeah, the problem with that was we cutting it off where where the level, because I'm sure there's a division three out there. What's your least favorite landing spot? This is what you touched on because I hate where he's going because they're going to be there. I think they're going to be really good this year. It's Dorian Thomas who was a tight-end at New Mexico. He had 10 catches against Michigan last year.

He caught at least two balls in every game and he's going to cow.

Politella as a guy who just needs more comfort, like more pieces, like kind of in a lower realm of

arch. And I just I hated when cow got Wilcox as a head coach because I thought he was just what they need to buttoned up guy. And now I just and responded at Calget and Tosh as a head coach. Because you want to you want a game record and recruiting world. And now with this NIL where you

can, you know, get who you want. I think it's a great hire by Ron Rivera in Calibering Tosh.

But this is like one of the guys. You get it. You get a guy who's an absolute game breaker and another weapon for JKAS to have who is a team that I think takes the next level to get to that. Next year we're talking about underneath Miami. I think Cal's going to be pretty good this year.

Okay, Ed Quinn will be happy to hear about that. Mine's DJ lagway at Baylor.

I know he's a Texas kid, but I was like damn it. I've not given up on DJ lag. I have not either. There's too many plays. Where I was like, are you fucking kidding me with this guy? And I know that, you know, that's the recruiting thing. And maybe be a trick by the whole thing. I can't, I hope he is great this year. And I don't know how many games are going to win. I think a projection win like less than four

games than the big 12th this year. But I'll just say this, watch it DJ. And you could just be on the sidelines for to Miami game last year. Like, all right, he's holding on the ball too long.

He's trying to make the perfect play. He's trying to make the perfect call at the line of

scrimmage. And then he goes, you know, with our, where the guy's spas, what I think the world of

a quarterbacks, I think there just has to be the onus lifted off. Like, you can't do everything. And I think it's a big picture thing in college football now is, you know, you look at Alabama last year where Ty Simpson, and I think I caught in it too much. We're trying to be too cute with pre-snap. And all that and I think that's also trying to knock it kill correct. But like spasad guy, it was going to call it and you run it. Like, call it and run it. And I think that's going to

help him. Like, and DJ has talked about how he feels more freedom. He sees the field way better in this offense. And he feels like it's, it's high school all over again. And I get it. It's a big 12 and you're playing Auburn week one. But I just think the harness of trying to do everything is, is a great match for spasad offense. We see him have success with with guys that haven't had the talent level of DJ. So I'm with you, man. I'm I'm room for DJ in Baylor. Okay, final one here just to because we

didn't do the big 12 enough here. We did almost none of it. Um, text text zero rolling favor if you had to pick a team to unseat them and win the big 12 footed big. This just feels like it can't be that easy again. Like, everyone is saying it. Right. It should, and then, and everybody points like you point to the schedule. And it's like, all right, they don't play BYU. They don't play Utah. Like, all right, well, I'm going to go way off the cuff and he was, if I had to do a quarterback, my favorite

one. Uh, but I looked at Richard with Michael Hawkins coming in and Richard with a running quarterback and then bringing in cooked the the NCA leader. Like, you want a mini pat white and Steve Slate in back in Morgan town. I think West Virginia is built to surprise a lot of teams. I like the teams that they get at home. Um, so I'm going to say West Virginia plays in the big 12 title game. That's my big surprise Kansas State. People are going to point to the schedule again. I don't buy it. BYU.

Yeah, they're stacked. I just, I think, like, if it gets to Texas Tech, they're going to play, like, I'm, I need to see a lot more on a bear throwing the ball and I get it. Um, you know, he got through, you got the campus feels like now last year to play for BYU. Uh, so they need, but they're built, like their lines of scrimmers are, are really good. I just think the beat to Texas Tech, you need something different and possibly outscorom. I'll take my chances with with West Virginia

team with with Hawkins who, uh, I think can really succeed in that offense and I know he's in a quarterback, uh, battle. So he'll probably lose the job now and I'm mentioning his name, but I

had liked that mix when I saw it, because that's what Richard wanted. You want to, you want to play

another defender in the box and do all that stuff. Like, that plays in the rituals hands. And I know they're starving there and, uh, I think a big year is coming in Morgan tell. Wow, I like that because they're completely off the grid. I think BYU's the easy talent choice if you're going to go with hey, and bear being a year older there. By the way, I want to take a guess at the total number of passive temps the Pat White had in the NFL. I want to say he started a game. I swear he started a

Game.

attempts and zero receptions. So it's just the package. Wow, it came in. They were so enamored with him the Wildcat package. I was reading Parsell's quotes again because I was like, how did Parsell's fucking suck that bat? And then he kind of blamed everybody else in a classic Parsell's faction.

It was like, he was going to play baseball, I think. That white. Yeah, he was drafted, but he didn't,

it was just one of those things. I mean, he was so great. And then I think about him. And then I

looked at it and went, oh my god, he's never because it was the kind of like the Robbie Hummel thing

where I go, or how happy were you that you had at least those couple years of like, playing? Yeah, or, or their quarterback, where I'll go, you know, those six touchdowns must mean the world to you because you were hurt, but at least I get to throw a couple in the end zone in the NFL. It's like the Matt Bushman rule. You got called up for six days, a decade and a half in the miners. Thank God for those six fucking days, man, because without Arizona, right? You were there.

Yeah, yeah, that's right, flew right out, flew right out with the squad. And then then he got sent down, it was like, I will come visit you on the next one. Didn't happen. Didn't happen. So, yeah, Pat white zero, zero pass. Wow, it's there. All right, man, this was an awesome out. Let's do it again soon. Say how to the crew. Well, do, appreciate you, my man. I don't think there's anything worse than the feeling of missing out on Sunday NFL. Sometimes you're a local broadcaster doesn't carry

your hometown teams game and you're stuck piece in the game together through highlights and alerts by the time you catch up the moments already gone. You didn't just miss a play. You miss Sunday.

And that's why there's NFL Sunday ticket in YouTube TV every game every Sunday, all in one place.

Then you throw multi-view into it and you no longer need to decide between what game to watch. You can have up to four games on it once so you can keep tabs on the games that matter to you, no missed action because the NFL is about hearing what happened. It's about experiencing it when it happens. New users pay $240 or eight non-cancelable payments of $30 a month,

first charged at purchase, availability varies with NFL Sunday ticket for out of market games

and YouTube TV for local and national games. YouTube TV required terms, restrictions, and embargo supply, commercial use excluded, no refunds, go to youtube.com/nflst to get NFL Sunday ticket for eight payments of $30 a month for new users. Okay, trying to make sense of this later story. Yovon Buhad joins us who covers the

Lakers cover Lakers for a long time and also has a YouTube page up where it was like, "Hey,

who should the Lakers fist starter be?" But right now we're like, "Who is the owner? We kind of know who the owner is. Can you help us just kind of clean up a bit of the timeline to understand where we are right now? Probably starting with Walter realizing he had to sell this based on an investigation into his company, which would be coming more clear that they were kind of marking up assets in a way that was problematic. Yeah, so there are four components to the situation right

now. You got the Mark Walter leg of the operation. You have the Josh Kushner and Bob Eiger, leg of the operation. You got the bus family infighting and their part of the sale and then you have the Lakers organization and all of the instability and uncertainty right now with everything going on beyond just the fit starter. So what we started with the Walter thing, like this has been an ongoing investigation for several months that it had been out there, but it had not really led

to anything notable until recently when it started to be like, this guy might be in trouble. And clearly he was in trouble and the sale came together within the matter of a few days and Kushner and Eiger were interested in potentially buying the Loss Vegas team, but they got wind that he was potentially going to have to sell the Lakers and they reached out to him and they were able to negotiate that pretty quickly. Then you have their side of it of them trying to get the capital

to purchase at that 12.5 billion valuation and still someone certainty with how they're going to put

all that money together when their combined net worth is under 6 billion. You have the Lakers then five of the six siblings agreeing to a tag-along clause which allowed them to then lump in their portion of the team to the sale with Walter. And then now Gini is fighting that and they have a couple of different things that they're going to have to be figuring out in potentially in court now that you have the Lakers who are trying to have this nice players-only mini-camp

in Slovenia going on that Lucas leading is flying the team out there. They're going to be golfing

Together, hanging out on a lake and they don't know what's going on who's goi...

team and how long this process is going to take to sus this all out.

All right, so at least the Walter part of it seems like that transaction and we understand it and it's good and now it's just a matter of what percentage of the, yeah, what percentage of the team that pushed her in either own. And so this tag-along clause, can we hammer down what that is and why it wasn't something that the bus family, we're talking about six siblings here, why they didn't do this on the Walter's sale and now why they'd be doing it on this

sale 14 months later. So they didn't do this on the Walter's sale because they wanted to have someone be the governor of the team, which she need bus part of the sale last summer was she was going to remain governor through 2030. So she was going to be governor for the next five years. She was just governor representing the team this past year. She had four more years left with the agreement

that they had done with the sale. So to be a governor, you have to own at least 15% of the franchise.

So the Lakers currently, the buses own 17.8% of the franchise. So they're just above that minimum threshold. If they sell the remaining shares, Jeannie will no longer be able to be governor. So previously, they had agreed, okay, Jeannie will be governor for the next five years. The buses will maintain that 17.8%. They had previously owned 66%. All right, they sold almost, you're roughly 50% of that portion overall to Walter and then now they're down to 17.8%. But once they got wind that

they were going to be that Walter was going to be selling this portion to Iger and Kushner. The rest of the siblings were like, well, why not just tag along and get you cash out now at this 12.5

billion valuation? Like, there's no really, there's no reason for them to stay on at that point.

And I think there was a revenge element to get back at Jeannie based on right before when she got wind of this. She tried to change the trust and restructured to eliminate the tag along and to clearly state that she was going to stay on as governor. And they, you know, did not agree to that. And then once it came out, they were blindsided by it to my understanding as well that the team was going to be sold again. They were like, oh, well, in that case, we're going to execute the

tag along clause and we're going to just cash out sell our shares. And Jeannie is no longer going to get to be governor. So this is like straight out of succession right now in terms of the infighting, the backstabbing, the revenge, and the siblings kind of go and add it. So she is going to look at that there's a 2017 LA Superior Court ruling that she's supposed to be the governor year over year and that all three co-trusties have to agree and she's one of them and she's not

going to agree. So there's a lot going on with that. But my understanding is that like last year, the reason why they didn't sell the full thing, they wanted to still be attached to the leakers. They wanted to maintain a minority stake and she wanted to be governor. But once it came

out that they were going to be selling it again, the siblings decided, why not cash out now?

Yeah, look, I read what the lawyers had to say in lawyers in this spot. They can say whatever they want. Right. So I just, I get the sense that like Jeanne is going to have a lot of public support because I think Jeanne is well, I think Jeanne's done a really good job with the media and who knows? Like she may be, I don't know any of them, right? I know people that have interacted. I know that when Jim was running the show, it seemed like every media member was crashing

him constantly, especially when a facility is being, it was like a national thing. And then it felt so nasty that I was like, is Jeanne? Like, are they so pro Jeanne that they'd be crashing one of the other siblings because, you know, it just seemed like this infighting has gone on forever. And look, this is kind of like somebody has a nice summer house and there's five

kids. It's a problem. Never mind it being the leakers. So this isn't all that surprising. I get some

asking, is there a good guy or bad guy in the bus dynamic right now? I don't think so. I think there's blood on on both sides, so to speak. I guess at this point, the family is trying to move forward and just sell and get out. And we've seen over the last handful of years, all this new money coming into MBA ownership and it's just, it's a different dynamic. So I think for them,

they feel like the best thing to do is to just sell cash out and move forward. But yeah, I don't

know if there's a good guy here necessarily. I think Jeanne does have good intentions, but if you look at the current dynamic, I don't think she has an ally right now. I think you look at like Walter is dealing with some bigger fish and he's trying to potentially not go to jail right now and

Sell off all these assets that he has.

putting up as much capital as Kushner is. So theoretically, Eiger is supposed to be the face of the operation and he would make sense to be the successor to Jeanne in terms of being the governor and being part of the board of governors meetings and just being like that, you know, that more so is going to be his role as the operator. And then you have the siblings who have clearly turned on her and it's five or so one. So I don't know if that makes for the bad guy necessarily,

but it does seem like all of the parties involved with the exception of her want her to agree to sell and move on and she's the last one, you know, holding out. Well, I can understand why she doesn't want to sell because it's cool to be the governor of the Lakers and when we have these transactions, I mean it's been pretty predictable every single time is that the new ownership comes in and if there's any public equity of someone from the raining

ownership group and they just kind of announced this soft transition, Cuban still owed 27% of the mouths when he sold his majority stake and he was saying everything, everybody seemed to want to hear or maybe even that Cuban wanted to hear and then it was like actually you're not in charge of this thing, which makes a lot of sense because if I own 73 plus percent or whatever of something and

I've spent billions on it, I don't actually want you in charge of this anymore. So I think it's

something that teams have been doing a lot of, maybe it feels more NBAish where we're just announcing like this soft transition and don't worry, like people are still going to be figuring out what happened with Boston a little bit. Maybe not to the degree of what you've had publicly with Cuban and then publicly with Jeannie Bus, the Jeannie One makes a little bit of sense,

especially with Walter who was somebody who was always going to take a bit of a back seat

to other people that are involved as organizations. But if I'm one of the other five siblings going like so, wait, but we're just going to hang on, like we can't, you know, eventually it's like I want my money. You know, look, I'm just kind of like thinking of the whole thing out. It's the last man standing clause, which is that if any of the siblings die, the shares get distributed to the remaining siblings. So one of the six dies, now it's split instead of one six that's one

fifth. So that's the other element here is like, I think the older siblings are looking at it, like we want to cash out now, enjoy this for the final whatever 20, 30 years of our lives, whereas the younger ones were the whole doubts last year, but I think now everyone unanimously is just

like let's just move on, cash out, and enjoy the extra, you know, 300 plus million that we're

each going to be making. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like if I'm in my 60s waiting for this big

cash out, and then my sister wants to be in charge of the Lakers for three more years because it's cool, and that's not a very good argument. Because that's kind of, kind of what it is, and she probably would have been phased out a little bit anyway if Walter had stayed in position, and she's certainly going to be more phased out here, like Iager, and ever, look, I like Iager, I didn't have a lot. I wasn't a high priority for Iager's day today of running Disney, but it is a job where

it's really hard to be as well-liked as Iager was, and there's a decency to him, and there's a confidence of just his energy in the room. I'd maybe this sounds a little ridiculous, but like this is where the value of somebody like this comes in where you know, he's not even close to writing the biggest check for all this stuff. So I think Iager's position with the Lakers post all of this controversy, like he's a settling presence for a organization that rarely seems to be settled, either either

good or bad on the court. So I don't really know what Genie's role would be, and then back to like another thing that we know, if she's blasted out so many of her siblings in this re-org, like, why would any of them have her back anyway? Exactly. I mean, yeah, they read to sell and then

two months later, they Joey and Jesse got fired. So it was like, I mean, yeah, I don't, I think at

this point, I mean, at least with the brothers, she is either fired or sued all of them. So it's like, yeah, I mean, this has been a decade long battle between the siblings, and it feels like it

finally turned where they all turned back on her, and we're like, all right, well, you really want

this, okay, too bad. We're going to cash out and sell our shares, and it's five or so one. I don't know how much information you have on it, but is there anything to, like, say, well, hey, anyone could have done what the Dodgers are doing, and you're like, maybe not, maybe not everybody could just go ahead and do what the Dodgers are doing on top of deferring everything else where a high income tax in the state actually worked the Dodgers benefit.

Yeah, I mean, I, I had had conversations over the last couple of months prior to the sale with people who were like, where is this Mark Walter magic supposed to be? Because I think he had made some changes on the business side, we were bringing in Lawn Rosen, and they had revamped the business sides, new sponsorships, partnerships, but we had not really seen the Dodgerification of the

Lakeers.

them run like the Dodgers. They're going to become this big market juggernaut. They're going to be restored to glory, and it's going to be like the 80s and the 2000s, and we just haven't really

seen that. Like, they didn't even hire their second assistant GM yet, which had been a months-long

search for them going back to last season. So it's like, a lot of this had been put on hold, and there've been the sentiment out there of like, when are we finally going to see what Mark Walter brought to the Dodgers brought to the lakeers? And clearly, there was more going on

behind the scenes than anyone knew, and I think some of that stuff had been put on halt for the

time being, but I mean, yeah, I don't think it's, I mean, it's two different sports right in two different salary caps, so you don't have the salary cap in baseball, which allows you to spend to agree that just isn't feasible in the NBA unless maybe you're Steve Bomber. But yeah, I mean, we just had not seen that level of investment or like the cutting edge beefing up the basketball front office, like your basketball ops, like we just haven't seen that yet, and I don't know if

we'll, or I don't know what it's going to look like now against, you know, with Kushner and Iger, like, it's just, it's TBD, and I mean, they're entering this without a plan, Iger had an interview last week, where he said, we don't have any plans, anything that's out there speculation, and like, I mean, yeah, that's not great to be hearing about a month and a half before the season starts, when, you know, the roster is what it is, and there's a certain element of lack of flexibility,

based on the contracts they give out the investment that they made in Walker Kessler, but it's just like, yeah, I don't know where things are headed for the Lakers, and and this seems like this is going to drag out for several months at a minimum. It's a really good topic, though, unlike the Walterification of the Lakers, and it's like, is that even possible, okay? So, like, say, what do you want to be? You want to be a second apron team? It's like, well, you actually probably don't,

and the only time you could ever put yourself in position to just blow through the second apron and pay all these luxury tax fines or penalties, or whatever you want to say, to categorize it,

you'd have to have all of these amazing players earning under contract and just extending them to

the birds because there wouldn't be mechanisms to just go out and start spending on anybody else, like you could in baseball. So, the other thing when I've talked to Dodgers people about it, I'm like, what is it? Like, what is it about this group, other than just money? And it's like, you know, some baseball teams will say, we're going to be like, better than everybody else internationally. Other places are like, well, our area guys are going to be unbelievable. We're going to do just a

great job in this part of development, and the Dodgers basically, like, we're going to be elite at all of it internationally, high school college. Like, we're going to comb through every single

prospect in a way that nobody else is even close. And I think the fact that they've been able

to stockpile so many prospects year after year, and then lead to whatever transaction they want to make at the major league level, proves like a proof of concept with this basketball, that doesn't really matter. Like, okay, you want to spend 50 million more a year on your scouting department. You'd be, I'd be telling you, like, hey, to your own or like, this is a massive waste of fucking money, because it's, you're not going to find some lefty in Korea that nobody's figured out.

Yeah. And even then, I don't even know that necessarily exists now, except for the ability to just go ahead and sign any international prospect you want to on top of any free agent if you're the Dodgers. So there's, there's such a difference between the rules and what you'd be able to do. I think there's a lot of hope for Laker's chance to like, hey, look at what's happening down the street. This is going to be incredible. And I'm like, I just, I don't, I think it's like two different worlds.

So that was never really going to translate. And so now it almost feels like a let down even though

based on the finances of this whole thing. Like, he's not even close. He's able to let it sail the Lakers. He's not even close to getting the books right and getting everybody, everybody back with the way that they were logging so much of this stuff. Because when you dig into the whole thing, you're just going like, oh, that, like something that was listed as a five-million-dollar transaction that wasn't an affiliated part of it, then months later was. I mean, it's pretty

bold to have even thought that this was going to pass. And you're right. Like, when he had his plane or excuse me when he got off the plane and his phone was laptop or confiscated, like, I just kind of like, I'll whatever, you know, maybe somebody's out to get him and they're just being investigated. And then here we are. So as well. He probably should have never bought the team to begin with. And we'd be having a different conversation right now. But yeah, now, now we're here.

Yeah. Well, great job today. And thanks for helping us clear up some of this stuff because it does feel a bit like, I don't know if there's anyone that I'm rooting for against, but that's a very Lakers story. As we know. I'd someone tell me this is a complete mess and they just want to

move forward. And I think what we're all there. Yeah, I really don't. I mean, to finish up, I was

done, but to add one little thing to it, I don't really know that it's that big of a deal for the basketball part of it. Like, for 2627, no, with everything that's been done, like, I think they were going to be whoever they were going to be. There's some long-term concern certainly, but for this season, I don't think players care about this stuff at all. That's a fair point. I mean, I think there's

Someone's certainty with the front office in the second assistant GM, what's ...

be? Are they potentially going to make a move here to try to find that fit starter, which we

open with? Like, I think there are some quite like smaller questions, maybe, but certainly,

I think this is more of a 27 summer thing with the organization. You could check out Yovon's YouTube page, get on there, subscribe, and find out who that fifth Laker starter is going to be. Because that's, I don't know, it's not more interesting than this, but it, it'll matter more down the road. Thanks, man. Appreciate it, Ryan. up here for a while. And then I kind of went around to bunk bed. Solo, then we're having a little brother as of nine years old. My sister was like, can I please have a sister for once and boom, I get that we get bunk beds. Hell yeah. Now you're all with bunk beds, top bunk. Yeah, I was you couldn't tell me nothing. So did that for a while then moved across the hall and then went down to the basement room. When I think we just all needed a little bit of space from me during

those years of my life. So you know, separate entrance typeship. But yeah, it's good to be back.

It'll be back in the old room. How old were you when you get your first second entrance

access? That was probably after freshman. You know, it was after I had my little hiatus from from college after the after we got that all settled put back into place. That's when I think freshman in college. All right, because I got real scared there. Well, I did freshman in college. It was after the old, you know, you look like a thing, leaving a banana split going, I got, I got secondary access folks. Fuck you. I don't need this. Yeah, you're a group. You go,

that's how it out of my mouth. So I lived upstairs. So I knew I did the lay the land anyway.

All right. Is that all, uh, does any change that you left? Oh, yeah. That's the only thing that's still here is like there's a little patriots thing up above me on the ceiling for some reason. They just left that one there. And there's a Tom Brady poster over there that you can't see. But I believe that was my little brothers who like took up the mantle after I got out here. Okay. But there's some other things that don't really fit in here anymore. It's just sort of just like

where we're going to put that word in there. Oh, put a poster in there? No, I do not. All right. Let's get some emails. People are calling it Seruti insists now. There's terms. Serinsist. Yeah. They haven't matched it up yet. I don't know that. I like this, but I don't like it. I'll tell you right now. I don't like it at all. I don't want my name

attached to this. Thanks. Yeah. Yeah. It's a credit, but I don't want it. Is it going to be like how there's like lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma? It's like it's not

Ins, it's, it's, it's Seruti insists.

Not the bad impression. This. I mean, if you're really comfortable with the fashion together,

quick, the eye feeds right into it pretty fast. I don't think we should be the first

proof to do it though. No. What are you famous for? Well, I'm so much done. Yeah. This one's going to not look bad. It's not as bad as it's. It's not as bad as it sounds. Yeah. It's a sound aggressive at start. Some guys have had leave. Defenders of it. Huge group of people. Yeah, a lot of dudes are having me on the other side. Exactly. All right. So five, eleven, one, any five, thirty, three, a suburban J. R. Smith

tantalizing shot, making ability with sometimes maddening shot selection. Just say you suck the play pickup hoops with. Yeah. It's sparrows. There's no way.

This, there's like, hey, my buddy takes horrible shots, 30, 40 feet.

Couple go in. You're going to love playing with them. It's a good comp, though, because I feel like I played with a ton of suburban J. R. Smith's at the Y. There's a lot of those guys. That just have no basketball IQ. Don't care. Aren't you in play as a team? And you're just like, all right. Yeah. But, you know, they're dead. Let it go onto a country club. Writing into defense, Serruti, a guy from my college group recently shared the exact same thing

that happened to him. And the University of reaction to the 10 plus guys in our college group was that's fucking weird. Wow. So that's 10 for 10. Not a family ruiner, but definitely weird. You know what's wrong. The brother and sister know what's wrong. It's borderline. It says to us, we're going to do whatever they want to do, but a firm response letting them know that it isn't cool. It's borderline, incest, Serruti incest. It's combat. And you're not happy. It's fair to

appropriate. Once they know their family members view them as borderline perverts, they'll probably decide pretty quickly if they really like each other or just go around. Wow. I don't know. That's a lot. They're at the end. I just don't know how many families are going. Oh, the purves are here. Yeah. You know that I'm that strong. Sorry. We'll hit it off at your barbecue. So many needs to go downstairs and get the extra plates, but you guys better not go together.

Right. Yeah. And she's like, we're pregnant. Oh, my God. Is it going to have three arms? No, because we're not related. All right. Guys, it's just got quiet. This, well, I just realized how much staying power this topic has. I mean, we're, we've spanned like three or four episodes with this, I think. I was like, I've said my piece on it. I don't, I don't have much else to say. This guy definitely was more, more aggressive than I was. I did do it a little quick poll. The

friend group as well. And they were on my side for the most part. Okay. We go, guys, you did a poll.

You did a poll yourself. Yeah, because I like the first, I got so much shit like the first

comment again. We didn't know like, why don't remember what we, when we taped this stuff. So I was like, what did I say?

And so I listened back and I was like, all right. And then I was like, I was just getting from everywhere. And I was like, am I the idiot here? So I just threw up to my friends. I think some of them were like, I think you overreacted, but I agree. One was like, no, I definitely agree with you. Like, that's weird. So I don't know. Maybe it's a regional thing. I don't know. Maybe it's an Italian thing. I don't know. But I've said my piece on it. I know. Okay. I got nothing else. Yeah. I mean, it's really up to us.

How much we want to do on this? So maybe, well, I appreciate the support. It is. There's a lot of support. There was a lot of support after there was a lot of hate. So that's what happens. Yeah. But it's weird. And when it's in a bank, you know, we had banked that stuff. Like, I'm getting guys hit me up about chewing gum. And I'm like, what do you, oh, what are you talking about chewing? I'm like, I got it. Okay. I can't. We taper it all as great. Yeah. Go ahead, sweetie.

No, it's that. I can't wait for the damn berry mall. It's you up here for some like, I don't know.

Have you come that by as an ambassador? I don't know. How much did you get need feedback from that?

No, you know, I mean, nothing. No explanation about the, you know, the air, air conditioning in there that day either. I mean, I listen. It wasn't, I don't want to have a long standing relationship with the damn berry mall. It was just kind of something I needed to see. That's all. Just needed to see it. And what do you guys think of Albany? I kicked around Albany a couple of times. My, my brother lived there for a little bit. Well, he was like post college there.

And I would catch the bus to Potsdam from Albany. That was one of the few stops that the trailways would, would take. So, you know, I, I go to Albany and just like see what's going on at night there. A couple of times. I, uh, I got COVID in Albany early 2021, which was where the teacher tells me we're

Overflow.

so with you. I got COVID. I got COVID in Albany. Yeah, it's your story. And real ones would have to know

because they'd be like, Oh, the insists guy. Yeah. That would be a banger. Yeah. That was a good one. Baxi. I kind of want to make them. I'm serious. It's so stupid. No one would get put the, the one guy that sees another guy. It's like, you bought it. Yeah. It might have, you know, it might be like a keep Austin weird sort of thing where it's like, we had no idea that shit was going to take off. Some bumper stickers all sudden. Yeah, I'm in. All right. I mean, it's like seven years after you bought it.

We're a little bit up to us. Like, when were you in Albany? Like, no, no, no, you wouldn't get it. Different thing. Your wife just really need to throw this out. It doesn't make any sense. No,

I don't understand it. Why did you buy this? We met in this shirt.

Were you a brother? Yes. Yeah. Okay. Good time. So Aaron Kraft is now a doctor. Nice. That checks out. A medical doctor doing ear nose and throat. So if you need your ears clean, what Kyle? Okay. Yeah. Whoa, residency at Ohio State. This past year, you want an award for his ability to teach younger residents and medical students. That's, oh, to look Nard. Oh, to learn knowledge. I don't know, auto learn knowledge. I'm getting there. We're getting closer.

Boy, really put an emphasis on the new emails. Why don't we read another one?

This is going to be quick. Player comp six foot, 155 Sam, Merrill, cash money for three. Love a few screens. Help create space beyond the arc. Also currently working on my floater game. They, Merrill can, Merrill can dangle that rock if he needs to. They just don't. He can get himself free with the bonus hands. Just hope people realize that about Sam. I'm going to be quick. I want to address one of your recent life advice submissions. Since

that episode dropped, I've been approached. This is about the guy who ran into his exit of wedding. Since that dropped, I've been approached by several friends in my circle because they thought, I was the guy submitted it. As you receive the emails, you know that I am not the person that submitted that prompt. However, I can see how they reached their conclusion. Similar to the original sender, not only in my late 20s and just got out of relationship about two and a half years ago,

but I was very recently in a good friend's wedding where my ex was also the wedding. It was my first

time seeing her a long time. And I was talking, I was seeing talking this exact several times throughout the weekend. So as you can imagine, I was already being interrogated and then they listened to life advice, exclamation point. My main concern is now my friends think I submitted the life of this, wrote to my height was six, four as a disguise. Because remember, that guy was a body, Bobby Porter's comp. And I'm searching to find some answers because I'm hung up on her once again.

They're worried about me. Which I got to appreciate because the original guy was looting to. It's a slippery slope. Long story short, I'm not saying I didn't listen closely to the advice you guys gave because I did, but I'm mainly writing this with the hopes that you'll read it and show my friends. It was not me who said that the message, because I am indeed over my ex as long as she doesn't reach out to me again any time soon. Thanks again, fan of the pod. You really hit

this, you're right. You can hear your finger there, dude. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you're good, you're a good

host because he was never going to be the allegations without this. So all you have to do is say,

that's a different email. Let's hear it. It's totally a different email. Two different names, two different body types, two different player comps, but I just it's not hard to create a different email. It's all I'm saying. Yeah. The narcissism of pain, like sometimes, or I was like, no, no, it's not me. Yeah, it is. The email was 64. You changed it. Like the only thing you changed was this. You badly badly watered this to be me. I don't know.

That relocation guy to me, I don't think there's any chance that they are on his dead routes. Yeah, he's right. Did you write some fucking email in to some older sports dickhead? All right. Um, okay. This is somebody spamming me with. I get spam with like a lot of right wing stuff and then left wing stuff. We had environmentalists who just was, I was like,

I'm on your side. I think a lot of stuff. So we're good, we're good. Um, okay.

Just a lot of spam stuff when we go and burn us. Ben, you're a sonpiker reference in the last

Pod.

Oh, you see tall. I don't even know. All sorts of light. I just know that he dresses as like mountain, right? He's kind of a weird. Yeah. Like that worst X ever, I'm not comparing it to, but what is it? Wade Wilson, the guy in Florida, it was just dating a bunch of women and then he actually had to know that he dabbled in a dude from a, you know, that's carnival life, you know, you know, who knows what the sleeping arrangements are going to be. Um, so anyway, that whole

thing should have just been like, so he was 65. Hey, the first girlfriend where it starts to be like red

flagged, she's like, well, you know, he was 65. It's like, yeah. Yep. 65 guys can do anything. They really can. All right. Absolutely. Bon planes. Yeah. Well said. Well said. All right, 48, 62, 225 player comp Blake Griffin Celtics edition. Wade passed my prime, but still know how to play

the contributing member of a team. And honestly, you have to be still hang with 20 year olds in my

age. And that'd be played off the court. First, let me start by saying this is the definition of a first world problem. My youngest worked as a bartender through college in a bit after while he found a job to fit his degree. He lives about five hours away, but we still see each other every few months, big part of seeing each other's going out in a few bars and just hanging out. The wife doesn't drink much anymore. So it's usually just him and I love hanging out with him because I

do say, say, if I do say so myself, a genetically created and molded a great adult to hang out with. He is socially comfortable and can hold a great conversation about sports music and current events and has a great sense of humor. That's going to be an awesome, awesome feeling as a dad. It's like my son is cool. Anymore. All right. The issue is his his cup of coffee is a professional bartender. He's annoying

about critiquing my drink choices if they are not bartender friendly and he always analyze the check

dad pays mostly, but to his credit does offer sometimes. Like I'm not capable of computing a 20 to 3% tip. I've tried to curb this behavior by roasting and making fun of him, but it doesn't seem to stick. It seems silly to have a serious discussion about it. Ryan is a former bartender yourself. Do you have any advice? Is he just two years past his last gig, sling in drinks and help grow out of this? Thanks for the great content fellas. You make driving around much less

tedious part of life. I don't think you're going to grow out of this man. Oh, you don't. I don't think you will. I mean, I've I've been out drinking with guys who have been bartended in like five years and they it's like the same spiel and it's like, you know, we always have to tip, you know,

obviously you have to tip and I actually end up spending more money this way and it's like,

yeah, I don't care. I never got to be a bartender. It was a dream, but I don't have to piss people off

with how like, you know, stick to bonus. I am about it. I'll say, don't be honest with that. It's a dream. Sure. You still do, but I I will say Ryan, you do like to bring up the bar yeah, the bartender is just not going to happen. I don't know if you're going to do it, but yeah, like, it's just like a part of your personality. Like, and this stuff happened what 30 plus years ago, so 30's a stretch out. Are you? Well, yeah, yeah, all right. Some of these 30 go. Yeah, yeah,

so it was 30, but like, so the idea of like, it's going to go away. Probably not. We have evidence here. I would say the only good thing about this is this is the only flaw of your son who's been who's a stand-up citizen, like it's a hang then it's a yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, be a little bit precious. I think it's brought up a lot. Yeah, I think it's, you know, it's a go to it's a little bit of a crutch. I've got crutch words. It's fine. You've got the you've got the bartender crutch.

Yeah. Do you think I have the construction worker crutch?

You don't bring that up as much. I don't think he feels comfortable with that. I would argue. I mean, does your son have a podcast where he's trying to intertwine stories from his past or relate to lessons of today? Because I think the shit, right? He wanted to do it. Because I've heard this before that was like, oh, you bring up college a lot or like, oh, you bring up extra relationships a lot. Do like, are you aware of what we fucking do here? Right.

So I knew somebody was going to do this. I was a little surprised that he came at me like that. It's fair. I do bring it up a decent amount. I think the difference is I'm hosting a show. And so I think that's a fair point. I a lot of them. I'm not saying it's like, I don't want it or it's it's bad. It's just it happens a lot. You know, it's kind of go to. Yeah. But this is a space where I'm down to hear that about that shit, not when I'm seeing it next to a guy at

a bar where he's telling me about like, you know, his enlighten view of the service industry right now. That's the thing. And I just don't think that's going to go away. And the positive is you already

Did what my advice would be like, this is where you make fun of them right no...

besides the bartender who he clearly wants to know, I used to do the shit man. I get it, you know,

everyone else is going to be on your side as the dad. So you're already doing the right thing. I just I'd say just keep it up. There is a very lame like, hey, I used to bartend to the bartender who, you know, when it's happening, you know, people are doing long islands in here. I hated that. Right. I was Starbucks. Speaking of terrorism. There's definitely part of it where, look, I think younger people, when you're, you're kind of in this void, this void of like, what am I? Like,

what is my identity? That's why I think young people can get really, really into bands because

it's like, hey, I have some sort of attachment, right? Like, do you like this thing too much?

Maybe. What a great shout. You know, like, oh, this isn't the original drummer. Okay, man.

I just like numbers four. Six. I'm just going to sit down again though. I didn't realize this was a fuck. I could be, I could be accused of dropping a band fun of fact if few too many times on repeat with the wife, she'll be like, yep, heard that one before. I'm like, all right, you don't have to do it. You don't have to do it. So I do think that that kind of stuff goes away where your son probably shouldn't be telling you how to calculate a tip. I mean, that's stupid. The numbers are pretty easy to do, especially

if you're going 20 or 30 and not 18.5. But I don't rule out that he's still pretty close to this being kind of his identity for a little while. And honestly, I'm not even saying there's anything like wrong with it. Like, look, look at me with sports with the red socks and that kind of stuff. It's talking about something that I bring up too much. But I didn't have anything. I wanted to feel

like I was something or a part of something. So I think younger people, I think men probably do it

maybe more than women do. I don't know. I'm not sure about that. But I think you guys get what I'm saying. Is it that you can have that guy in your group that's kind of like overdoing it a little bit. I remember again, not to do it, but we're going to. There are dudes in the bartender crew that would go to other bar specifically based on like who was or wasn't a good bartender. And now I look back on that being like, that's the dumbest thing. Any of us ever even discussed. Luckily, I feel proud that even

my early 20s, I was like, this feels dumb. Like, I like to check in sandwiches and be like, oh, feels not there. Yes. Like, we can't go because Phil isn't there. Like, he's the only one who knows how to make a good Moscow duel. And you just feel like this is. And we had some guys like this, which is just absurd and stupid. And I wish it wasn't even associated with it. But I think that's

part of that is like, I think people want to be at local. Like, they want to be a right

door. They want to be that. They want to feel like they're part of something of a thing. And if they're like, hey, I know Phil's like, and that's something that we just hang up in your friends heads. Yeah. So well, the good news is as as annoying as that can be, I think the servers are way more annoying about it. And there's way more of them. So I know, I hate when I hear the, as a guy who is a dishwasher for a long time and just hated servers, irrationally. When I hear them talk about like that version of it,

where like bartenders, not as bad, but servers like drives me nuts a little bit. That's I have a short fuse for that. What's the like hierarchy at like a bar restaurant? Like it feels like it feels like, because the all of them, I feel like this comes from the movie waiting, or I just think up like who is, who is, right? Yeah. Shout out the round Reynolds, um, we're like, you know, the cook seem like kind of wow total wow cards. The hostess is usually like, but they will

immense around a power. You cook, you know, they really do. bartenders usually kind of chill, but I don't know. Well, it depends on what kind of place that it is. Like rarely,

I mean, if it's about the food and the chefs are always going to be in charge of everything,

although the chefs and the bartenders get there sort of trade agreement going where everybody has to be fed, but if you can throw somebody, uh, a rum and sprite on the line to get them to shift, then there's going to be, you know, again, there's going to be alliances out there. Yeah, I think extra chicken and that whole thing. Yeah, if you might go and you think about bartending down or cooking on a line, like you're just going to look at the weight staff, is the harmonic

player in the group. You know, you're just going to be like, cool. You brought your arm like a awesome, like we don't respect your skills. Damn. That's nobody would ever think of a server at being at the same level of like skill as somebody who can actually cook a full full meal. Yeah,

They're always counting their fucking money as they're walking out the door.

cleaning the mats, you know, I'm not getting any of that. But then, but then would you have, I mean, again, haven't been there, so I don't know. My thought would be like, if the cook fucks up, the weight, the weight, the weight, the weight, weight just has to deal with the bullshit that comes with that, right? They're the ones getting yelled at about the steak being overcooked or like, you know, something like, you want to throw the staff under the bus immediately and be like,

oh my god, I told him exactly. I'm going to go get that fixed right away. Yeah, but that's

your anonymous person in the back. You never actually have to deal with that stuff. I like the cook

has to come out and like face the music. No, but then, you know, you're going to be careful how you deal with the chef and it depends on like how long that chef been there. What kind of a standing as he have and like some chefs got off on making sure that everybody else felt like shit around them. I don't know why that happened. Yeah, but again, it's like I was working at Red Robin for six hours standing behind that grill. That guy is like, he's a loaded gun himself. I mean,

it's I mean, I'm from my first. Yeah, my first restaurant job I walked in. I don't know. It was like 5 a.m. ready for breakfast service. And this guy, I'm not going to say his name. I'll never forget it and just smell the fucking gross. He put his body right in the main and stuck me in front of an orange juice machine and was like, this machine's worth more than your life. Don't fuck it up. Yeah, but he was at whatever he was going on in his life and how miserable he was. And you don't

understand this when you're sick. I think it was 16. He's like, I'm going to try to make you feel

like shit immediately. I want to immediately intimidate you. I want you to feel like you're not worthy to be even in here. And you know, the way my brain works, you be like, there was just fucking orange as man. We're going to get through this together. Yeah, like I'm going to do the job. It's going to be fine. I don't think I can break this machine if I wanted to. It's all stationary. And like we're going to, there's going to be OJ today. I fucking promise you that. There will be OJ.

I know I'm new. I know it's a lot to ask. But I've seen it made. I've consumed it. I like it. I'm a fan of the product. And I've had it before in other restaurants. So I barely certain I know how this whole procedure works. It might be confused. I might, you know, there could be a moment where I'm a little

off first day, jitters. But we're going to be fine. I'm going to play a small glass. You know,

yeah, the real mouthpiece mouthwash cup. When want to give him a pint glass. Oh, Diana, that would be terrible. Wait a minute. So as a dishwasher, did you dislike the weight staff way more than you just like

the line? The line was sick. What do you mean? Those guys are awesome. Those were my brothers. Honestly,

there's all my friends that my buddy hired and then I actually had to fire them all at different points. But it was like a, but I was at the, here's why it was really bad is because it was the melting pot, which is a fondue restaurant, which I honestly, every once in a while, get fucking ramically. That must have been brutal. Dude, ramicans, you can't put the screen. How many times the night would you get screened for ramicans? Four? Yeah. It's like a, a lot, a lot. And then they don't really fit

very nicely into that, into that dishwasher, you know, the pots. When they were doing the cheese fondue, that's great. You put a bowl in there. But when you got an oil based, you know what I mean? You got like a bullion in there. That's got a, that's not going through that. That's going in a big sink that you're going to scrub out with shit. And everybody gets new utensils every time. So there's three pointy forks for every course of this person's meal. And they fucking hurt. So listen,

I don't even know if they're forks, whatever those stabber things are. It was really tough. And then it really just, sometimes the weight, the servers would just drop their shit a little bit too hard. And it's like, you respect this dish pit. You put it down nice because I'm dying in here. Anyway, so, you know, when you're not pitching, I'd be like, dude, I'm like, I'm a raising over here. And there's grease and it's awful. And you just went out for a smoke break. I'm going to wait till

somebody needs garbage outside the dumpster before I can have a smoke break. So fuck off. I was so jealous of smoking when I worked at a restaurant. I just, yeah, you kind of do get a bit kind of

have to let you go. I like, depending on your job, I think. If you're working crazy, there's like,

give that guy five minutes. I think you might need it. My experiences of the chefs were always

crazy, you're then the bartenders. But the chefs things that the places I worked at were real kitchens were real places. Like the first two places were real places. So there was more on the line then just some college bar where, yeah, maybe one of the other guys sucked. But I also was higher on the totem pole and didn't have to worry about it. When you're dishwasher man, you're fucking nobody likes you. I think I did like five four months in the dish pit before I got out,

got out of there and got in the line, which was sick because I was basically just making salads and chocolates and shit like that. But you don't sick that. Pine nuts dude. Pine nuts in a Caesar. Think about it. It was my specialty. I can't stop. I'm not going to stop thinking about it all day. Yeah. What else do we have here on the table? One more. Yeah, we go one more.

Okay.

Aaron Kraft. Get out of here. Yeah, I got to a name brand gym, not equinox, the upper east side of Manhattan. It is more of a friendly vibe with lots of girls. I'm probably one of the more hearto guys in there in terms of seriousness. You're aware that you're one of the more hearto guys. Okay. Put that in my old back pocket. Might write it down on my no pet. That being said,

I always keep to myself. Never talked to anyone besides a friendly hello to the trainers. I don't

ever approach anyone and just mind my business completely locked in. I've been noticing that girls seem to be avoiding me, particularly on the treadmill. If they're a multiple treadmills available, they almost always go to the furthest one from me. Same with the freeway area. I seem to be radio active. At first I thought it was because I smell, but I shower at least one time a day, normally twice a day, always wear a deal or an incolon, Abercrombie fierce parentheses.

My apartment smells crisp and clean. I work a finance job and come to the gym straight from my office. It's not as if I'm outside sweating all day. What do you think it is? Can I be doing something

creepy that I'm not realizing? Can I just be giving off intimidating vibes?

I'd say my first two questions would be like, can you tell me what was his stats again? What's his size? Five nine one eighty five. Okay. So he's not like super tall or super wide. I'm wondering if you're and then my next one would be like, how when you're on the treadmills, are you like pouring sweat? Because that might just be enough. I don't know. I don't know about how your other gym routine goes, but if you're like, if you're absolutely soaked, that's enough to I think have someone just go,

write your wide birth. No, you're like, smell like you a funny runner. Like, come with sweat. Funny runner. You're like a weird runner. Yeah. Because I, you know, I don't know that you know that they're weird runners until they are, it pointed out to them. You know, if you see yourself running, it's kind of a, it's a, it could be a little bit of a wake-up call. But like, all right, that's tough. Maybe need to fix that. Um, that would be just put people off. Yeah, there's just one guy in the

Premier League. His name is Raheem Sterling. He just runs like he just runs literally with his arms just flapping. And it's insane. And I was like, how do you learn to run that way? He is fast. He's really fast. He was. He's older now. But um, and you're just like, man, how do you learn to run like that? That's so strange. And it's kind of off-booting. I'll be honest with you. Um, I'm told me when I was younger, I used to hit the Naruto, like that, like a younger way younger, but she was like, we got to get that fixed.

And we did. We got to fix. Okay. That's amazing. If you was like her thinks he's fucking flying around

out there. Yeah, I'd like bite the lip and everything. I'm like, oh, fucking out. But that was, that ain't a black pepper snake the other day. We're out. No, I'm just imagine you telling your family

that. Not me. Now there's nothing. There's not around here. I think the fact that you said you're

kind of a heart-o that you are aware of it, that you noticed it. My fear is it's like you, like our 10 times more of a heart-o than you even realize. Um, but the gym thing can be really really fragile. Like you can have the worst-first impression and it can happen in like two seconds. And then it's just this awful basis that you're working from. And they're saying, you're not talking to somebody in there for three years. Like it's crazy. I've seen it happen. But it's true. Like,

I don't know. I mean, every gym situation for me is in sort of weird. Like, I've had all the trainers, all the male trainers like me and the female trainers not like me. I've had the female trainers like me and then not male trainers. I've had the black trainers like me, but none of the white guys. Um, I've had a bunch of different dynamics where I, I can't really ever put my finger on what edit forever. Any of it is. I'm not a runner. I do stick to myself quite a bit. Um,

if somebody doesn't want to come up and talk to me. But I'm just the heart-o awareness thing. And if it's a very female gym, like, are you dead lifting with shock? Are you setting up in a dead lift station? Are you staying over there forever? Are you running? Are you sweating

on shit? Which I think is a fair assessment? What are you wearing? While in on the cables,

they're like, actually I'm going to have to use that next. Are you full compression? Yeah, that's a turn off female body inspector cut off. Yes. You still doing the, when I saw that on my DC trip, I think that was the first time I saw that shirt. I'm like my eighth grade Washington DC trip. It blew my fucking mind. I was like, why do you put that on the teacher?

And I'd seen bumper stickers that made me laugh before, but I never came across the FBI one.

And we were in DC. I was in the gift shop. I'm like, holy shit. Did you buy a burger? I was too scared dude. I was too scared. When we were growing up, there was there were way too many of those like novelty t-shirt stores though, right? Like in the mall. There were just like

All of them.

It's the rehab is for Quitter Sure. That's the tough one. There's a, there's a she's so lucky

with an arrow pointing over and you're just like, well, I wore this stuff. Like this was just readily

available to any dude who was an idiot who wanted to buy this stuff. And I bought it. I bought it a lot.

And it was, I wish it was less available. Were there too many I wanted to get one. That's a

one. That's a one seed female body inspector of those shirts. That's number one. We don't have

more advice beyond that. It just sounds like if you have, which sounds like pretty great self

awareness to admit that you might lean hard. Oh, maybe take a closer look at that. I think the

space in the treadmill is not that alarming. I'm usually like, I has not been giving a wide birth. Yeah. It's like you're a girl. I'm actually somebody. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I'm not just, I'm not just getting one away from you because that's, you know, the minimum. It's like, I'll give the max. I agree. You could try to know, Cologne at the gym, too. I know I hate it when I get a loft of

somebody else just blasted out. I think it messes up your day. If you're heavy, if it's a

heavy day, you're like, this is going to go great. I just snorted two lines of cool water. All right. That'll do it for the show today. Thanks to Tom. Thanks to Kevin Kyle and our guys.
