It's Gordon McFarlane, good friend of the show. Good to see you, Howard. Excellent, sir. It was head. Well, a lot is going on. Let's just start with recap in a little before we look ahead of the week, including obviously LSU returning to Oxford. I was actually there,

I think the last two times, or the last time, these two teams play each other. But what does the

Texas win due for you against Ohio State last Saturday? But I think it was a much needed win for SART. I mean, if you look at both coaches in both programs, Ohio State won a championship recently. Ryan Day has kind of gotten the Michigan monkey off his back. He's gotten the championship monkey off his back. Ryan Day is kind of in a comfort zone now, where he can suddenly end and just be the Ohio State College. What is SART done? Like,

SART has got everything he could ever want. He went out and got arched, two running back out of the portal. He got the best virus, see by the portal. He got the best line back out of the portal. Like at some point, they've even given SART everything that they could possibly given and what it's SART given now. And so I think this win was monumental. For SART, I think it was big for arch. Arch is the guy who like this win. And I think I've heard a lot of people say this

win was kind of a microcosm of his career, just up and down. You know, the early on was just a

little off. And the second half, he was really good. And I think that's kind of been the inconsistency

of archers career. But this was the biggest win of his career. I think it was a win that he needed. It was definitely a win that SART needed. And I think Texas just kind of, you know, realize and kind of made everyone confident that they were one of the best team in the country. We already knew that. Or how states still won the best teams. I think the biggest fact in the game to me was the fact that I don't know how you simulate 130 degrees in Columbus, Ohio. And I thought

in the fourth quarter, they heat played a factor. Uh, Texas was ready for a no-house day. What?

There's a lot of stuff.

you know, in Ryan days, even talked about it. Like, hey, we're a team that expects to content for national championships. So you go this many games. That many plays like we could be saving 200 300 snaps for guys on both sides of the football. If you go back to last year, the time in

between snaps is really long for Ohio State. I think against Miami, it's 59 snaps. I think you

could get on their case a little bit about like, hey, you may need to play this game out, like trying to maximize every single possession. So I think the simple thing is you go, if you're Ohio State and you're generally better than everybody else, you have Jeremiah Smith and your team, why don't you want to go faster? I get their larger philosophy and I'm sure they put a ton of time into this. But after that loss, blowing the lead and some of the stuff that happened last year

against Indiana and then again Miami and the playoff, do you think it's fair criticism for what seems like an offense that wants to look college football is kind of slowing down a little bit, based on some of the peaks and the teens there. But what do you think about that criticism? I think it's fair. I also think that, you know, every team's not built to go fast. Like, it's not a copycat world where everybody has to do the same thing. Everybody's had to go at

the work tempo. I think if you look at, you know, when Nick Sabre and Alabama was pounding people, they didn't go fast. Like, you don't necessarily have to go fast. Tempo to me, tempo is something you use when you have lesser talented teams or lesser talented players because tempo can equalize the playing field. When you are like, Ohio State and you got superior talent, you play whatever tempo you want. Okay? Whether slower, faster, sugar, execute, doesn't matter. Now, someone would say,

you can get more plays, Ryan Day would probably say, yeah, but we can execute better if we go at our

normal tempo instead of going warp speed. So, and to your point, you don't always have to go

tempo. You can kind of speed it up. In the second quarter, you might pick a series, and we're going to go tempo this series. So, I do think that they can kind of alternate a little bit from his philosophy.

I think the bigger thing, between the first half and the second half, Jeremiah Smith went

off in the first half, second half, and he couldn't get the football. If I am Arthur Smith, who was the office of coordinator, I am calling plays, minimum, 15 times a game where Jeremiah Smith is the primary. He's getting 15 target to game. If he catches half of them, he's got eight catches for a buck, something. If he catches 15, he's got a, he's got an historic day. I thought that was the biggest issue other than the heat in the second half. Yeah, I think there could be,

and I mean, these are real first world problems. It's like looking at George's defensive line rotation and be like, "Oh, they just had one more guy." Relax. But it'll house day because they've been known. You just pump them into the NFL here at receiver. It's like, "Okay, well, what's going to happen at number two spot?" They brought Chris Henry Jr. out there because they probably felt like two this point, two games in, granted a massive jump-up and competition for

Texas in that spot. I'm with you on the heat. You're just so, we're so spoiled with a house

date that you feel like okay, number one and number two are both like first round picks. And as of

right now, you're like, "Well, if you can key in on Jeremiah Smith and change up the way, basically, must-champ, admitted we had a change of anything we did in the second half, just to try to account for Jeremiah Smith, which makes you wonder what the hell was the plan leading up to let him go that way, especially at the end of the first half. I just thought like, that's

awful to give up that touchdown. It still works out for him. I think it's kind of of a slight concern,

but again, some of the big 10 teams that they're going to play, it's not going to matter. It's not going to matter. Maybe it matters at the end of the year. By the way, what are we doing with the mustache? It seems to be kind of doing the thing of its own right now. What do we got going? We went ahead of bars. There was a cowboy themed event and I milked it for a little longer than I thought I would, but I just needed the rest of it to grow back in to even it out. So as, as

someone who's who's seen you for a lot of the years, I've seen you with hair, without hair, I've seen a lot, a lot of different states. This is not probably probably one of the the better one, just FYI. Oh, yeah, no one, no one seems to like it, men seem to like it a little bit more than women do, but that doesn't concern me at all. Yeah, well, whatever. I mean, I, or sometimes I think you need, I talk about it all the time. Why do I have to look the same all the time? You know,

mix it up, look bad, and then I come back. It's like, hey, you know, who looks pretty good? Right, he doesn't, he doesn't look terrible anymore. All right, Dante Moore, when he wins, it's like man, calm, cool, collected like this stuff is awesome. And I'm, I'm guilty of this, too. And then when he loses, you're like, hey, man, what are we doing? Now, look, I think there's defensive questions. They haven't been able to run the football for two weeks, but he had a throw in that

game against Oklahoma State where he just dirts it. And I'm going like, what's going on right now,

guys? So, you sat around in studio, probably watch a good chunk of that incredible win by Oklahoma

State. What is alarming about Oregon for you? They're high in town. It's not playing high in football.

That's number one.

guys that are going to play on Sunday. The quarterback has been very inconsistent. I think losing

both Tosh and Boy and Will Stein, the two coordinators, office of the defensive coordinate last year, is playing a factor. And so I think when you combine all of that, and then here's to me, the cheery on the cake. They're not playing with an edge right now, man. You can tell a team that's playing with an edge that's kind of going to the echo of the whistle. Like, they are on edge. They are playing there, hitting people there, running through people. It almost seems like Oregon right now,

it's said, okay, we're just a clean supremely talented. We got to fit to me in all the roster. Let's just step out there and our town will take over. And, you know, there's the old Sam, man. A hard work to be talented in town don't work hard. Okay, it's really simple. And you saw a team notebook home estate that just outworked. Or like that there was no edge to Oregon. That was talent. They showed up, but there was no edge, no finish, no, no just grit. And that's something that

if you're banning, you have to ask yourself, why isn't, why is that? And it's two weeks in a row.

Okay, once it's an accident, twice as a train, three times as a problem. So there's a train going on right now that you have to ask yourself, how does it stop? And Dan's got to answer that question. I don't know because what's in the culture of that program should answer for two weeks in a row. It's one thing to have a bad performance against Boise at home. First day, I get it.

First day, I'm always like. But the second game on the road, the loose to a team that got

embarrassed by Tulsa, that's very alarmed. Yeah, I'm with him, man. Like, I'm I'm worried that there's just something off with them. But God, I mean, you're right. Like, it's kind of like some of these teams. I'll go through the roster, be like, well, that guy's going to be a draft pick. That guy's going to be a draft pick. And there's like five guys on defense where you're like, well, they're all going to play. It's like that LSU offensive line a couple of years ago. You were like, all five of those dudes ended up

getting drafted. Like, how come they couldn't run the football? That's insane. Is there a team? Is there a player coach? Something? Is there something that surprised you that you're like, hey, you know, I kind of like that a little bit more than I thought I would? For a problem, Mississippi State, man. You know, Mississippi State has kind of been an afternoon. Yes, you see for a long time. And you know, I think they were maybe a slight dog or pick

them or whatever at Minnesota. You know, rode your boat. Let's let's see if we can get this the boat being rolled up in Minnesota. And then come on your tail. Let's just show it up and show it out, man. And I don't know how big he is, you know, varying some people say six with some people say six

three. I just know one thing. Well, he's listed it like 64 to 30. Oh, so hey, that's that's how big he looks.

Like he's he looks like us a little smaller version of Cam Newton, but he can throw it. Man, he, he has been in the football. He's caught the eye of a lot of people around the country. And when you have a quarterback like that, now people want to come play with them. And so Jeff Levy has a great office of system. Mississippi State is is a phenomenal, a phenomenal breeding ground for defense of talent because it is a quiet state where you can get a lot of guys, a lot of,

a lot of big athletic dudes in Mississippi. They just got to keep other schools out of there. So I would say Mississippi, state, Jeff Levy specifically, Camario Taylor have been outstanding. And I think they've shocked a lot of people. Camario, man, if he just keeps getting better and better around this year, they're going to surprise a lot of people. But I think next year, they'll be able to get a lot of people to come to start good, to play with these kids, and then Mississippi State could

really take off. Does it feel like Indiana then is the favorite of the big tent? I mean, that seems a little ridiculous. I mean, Ohio State makes that feel good. They're probably, we're not talking about any of this stuff. I mean, there's a scenario where Texas tries to go faster and

would need two possessions there. But I always think it's worth remembering that because we'll

offer, get it, make a little feel go from them. But it does it feel too reactionary two weeks

in or is there something there where you're like, well, look, what do you want me to do with Oregon?

Indiana is the class of the big tent. I still think Ohio State's the class of the big tent. I'm not going to let a fourth quarter where the heat got to him a little bit. They were up 20 own Texas in their house and they were dominating the game. What do we know about Indiana this year? I think we're going to be filled with it. I think the most terrific of the defense is going to be filled with it. So Hoover's whoopers being great. Like the whole team is being great. I need to see

this team get tested though. I need to see this team like, you know, being on the field with the two points they've been in the field so far is definitely doing anything for me. I think they'll be good. But until further notice, I'm going to go with the house state. I think USC is much better. I don't trust Lincoln Rally, but I do think the talent is better. Oregon, I'm very close to giving up on the team in Indiana. I think it's right there. I think those are the four teams that are going to have

something to say about the big team. But right now, I feel I think Ohio State's the class of the big

Team.

Indiana's non-con is a joke. Like come on. Seriously. Like what's the funny thing about Indiana? What's your Kentucky's awful? They might be the where I don't know how much of that Georgia game you watch. I mean, because Georgia's the same thing. Like, hey, Indiana, we know it's going to be

really good. We know that Georgia can be really good. But what do we know other than that? I think they

scored seven straight touchdowns open up the game and then get stopped at the fumble. It's not going to be worse than Miami, you know, going to a running clock in the fourth quarter against FAMU. So I mean, it can't get new worse than that. My amy's story. Like this is this is a really good cop here. No one is paying any attention to the fact that like Miami's secondary is a mess because no one cares because of the schedule. And this is the difference between like the spot.

Like, I'll use this right now. If quite Leonard, we're actually a star. Like, why Leonard is a Hall of Famer. He is a star when he's at his best. He is one of the better players. Now granted, you know, nobody's saying like, hey, I want to start one team with him at this stage of his career. And the fact that he's one of the worst partners in professional sports. But if Kauai were a higher profile NBA guy for 10, 15 years, this story for him is so much worse. But since it's so weird,

he never talks. No one even really has an opinion when he laughed once. It was like, oh my god,

this guy's got like a crazy laugh. Like in a way, he gets to skate. And the analogy here is that Miami can have all of these secondary, but the schedule, it's like, well, whatever, it doesn't matter. Texas Tech almost loses to Oregon State. That freshman receiver, Leguy or Leguy. I can't even pronounce. He was insane. And that was like a real game. Like they were in the fight with him the entire time. So credit to Texas Tech for waking up there. But here's two teams that have not only like

we've assumed when they're conference and real playoff aspirations. But they are kind of, it's weird considering one was in the national championship game. And tech was in the class. They're under the radar and not even close to like facing any of the criticism concerns that we have with Oregon, granted, because Oregon lost, which is, I think it makes it too simplistic when we look at it that way. You know, if you got a moment, just suppose the schedule of Texas Tech,

Miami, Notre Dame, and just pick any, just randomly pick three SEC schedule. And it doesn't matter what team, just just pick the schedule. And when, and when you look at any said SEC team, versus those three schedules, like, you see why Commission Sanky will say like the schedule

in and you have to look at the strength of schedule because all schedules are not creating equal.

But the Miami schedule is a joke. Notre Dame's schedule is a joke. Texas Tech, everybody's hyped up this Houston game on Friday night. I don't think it's going to be okay. It may be cool for half, but I think in the end, Texas Tech beats Houston by 10 points of more. So the fact that tech just had that issue in Corvallis, like that doesn't line up well for Houston. I'm not a Conno-Wigman guy. I don't think kind of Wigman is phenomenal. But I just throw you to a big three,

come on, man. You know, I've watched him enough. And we know that he was a big time recruiting everything. I was watching one of their games against recently. I was like, why does he already throw the ball? Like, it's Kirk Cousins. Like, I get why Kirk has to load up for a 10-yarder. And maybe that's, that's a little unfair. Maybe I'm not a mechanics guy. But that part is, you can hate the SEC all you want. It's just indisputable. The fact that you have Texas going

against Ohio State, they get UTSA, and everybody can make it. And then it's like, okay, then then what happens? Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri,

Ellis, shoe, and then ANM at the end after Arkansas. Like, give me a fucking break. And that's why

when I had Cannellon, I said if Texas goes nine and three in Penn State goes 11 and one, who do you want in the playoff? What do you think his answer was? Oh, I already know his answer. His answer was Penn State. Penn State's schedule is a joke also. Like, come on, man. Come on.

Like, but I just wonder, on the first Tuesday night in November, when me, Mackereloy,

Galloway, and Reed Davis were sitting at the desk, and the first rankings are revealed, I just wonder what the strength of schedule, because you'll know really quickly. How they look at the strength of schedule? How are they going to do? This isn't like he had to head and we can figure it out at the end. Like, the strength of schedule, it's going to adjust every week, and so I think that's going to be fascinating, man. I just wish people could go, hey,

this isn't even close. The experience that this team had versus what this team had. But, you know, we got to see a play out, too. Like, but what are those losses? Like, what do they actually look like? And that's, that's the thing is if Texas doesn't schedule that game of the house today, unless you're there in the play. There's something for everyone when it comes to races. We like talking combos, right, combo, play. What are my options?

Rises doesn't want to give you options, because you don't need any other options. You're like,

I just want that historic peanut butter, that first ballot hall of fame, peanut butter,

That a lot of us, depending on the certain age, you're like, you know that ta...

they're making this in jars right now, too. Because, like, let's look at the NFL season. You go, I expect to see Aaron Donald, the Miles Garrett out there, and I haven't seen either. We knew Donald was going to play week one. Now, Garrett is out with an injury. He looked limited

in that first game. So let's get him right. Should all make sense. Rises peanut butter comes with

never, ever do that to you. So I'm not even being critical of those guys, but that's what I'm

talking about when greatness is combined. It is there for you every single week. Hell, it's there for you every single day. If you want to get dangerous with it, it is the ultimate combination that you can depend on every single bite and every single experience. Rises, the official candy partner of bar stool sports, go get Rises wherever you shop. I got, I'm going to do a little on this because I haven't talked about him yet. I think Bam is defense is going to be nasty. I hate

their offense right now. I think they're making, they're just not clean. It's not a clean operation. You can say it's a freshman quarterback, but they had back to back like fall starts in some

short-yarded situations where the Lyme didn't look like the count was totally off. Then it

like happened again. You can tell like McRoy is kind of going like, what the hell is this? And granted, this is post-saving one of the most buttoned-up operations ever, but they are continuing to look like a sloppy football team who right now on offense. I do not trust at all. I think they're like some like, I take a look at Alabama and LSU. They got defense as I think I agree with your Obama's defense. Both of them are going to be nasty. Both of them have

a potential to be really, really, really good. I love Cain Wolmac and Alabama. We know what Blake Baker's done. And they both got quarterback that seemingly are super athletic, but they got to play around them a little bit. And you know, the Russell was a registered freshman, so you had kind of

expected out of here on the first party. Sam Levitt, I mean, he's out there throwing yellow balls against

Louisiana Tech. Like you don't expect that from him. And so I think both Lane and Katelyn have to figure out a way too offensive guys that have to learn to play around what could be quarterbacks

that are very inconsistent. I think that's why both of those teams, at their best, Katelyn

Russell is a super athletic quarterback that reminds you a lot of a better version of Jalen Mirror as far as, uh, control it, you're running the whole nine. Sam Levitt can kind of do the same. Like he's super athletic running around. I think somebody on somebody on social media city reminds him like a squirrel that took out a raw, like he's just everywhere. Um, at his best, it's really, really good. But when you're throwing yellow balls, when you've got a defense that's given up zero yards,

it doesn't look good. So, um, I like Russell. I think Russell is a year away from being a legitimate Heisman contender. Uh, he's going to go through some ups and downs this season. And I think Alabama, if you're Katelyn to bore, I love the fact that he started over Austin Max. So you can kind of already go ahead and start the maturation process. But I do like what Alabama was doing. We came with Mag Ryan Grubby O. C. Katelyn to bore. I think they're on the right path.

All right. Let's talk about it. LSU Lane train back to Oxford, Mississippi. Uh, for those of you that watch the LSU game or maybe those of you that didn't against Louisiana Tech. Uh, that was a strange one because it's a game at half time. Louisiana Tech technically had zero total yards at the half, based on the negative plays and the positive plays. But then you had all the picks and the Levitt experience to your point. It's a lot of fun. It scares the shit out of me. Uh, if I'm going

through like roster to roster, I don't think there's any way you could put Ole Misses defense at the level of what LSU has and with these options. But on the other side, I like turn it at better than Sam. I like the running backs better than Sam, like the number one receiver for Ole Miss better than anything that LSU has to this point, unless you, you know, want to talk about green, but he's technically a tight end here. So how do you like we can talk offensive line all kind of stuff,

but go in any direction you want here on what you think is important with this match up and kind of which way you're leaning. So here's how I look at this game. I think Ole Miss has the win a certain way. Trinidad has got to be special. Come on, Lacy's got to run the football and do's has got to be

do's. Um, that's how they're going to win. Like they're going to score and put up 28, 30, 35 points

and they're going to count on their defense at home, getting opportunistic stops, getting turnovers. And now, if, if the, if the, if the, the possession total is now 10 to Ole Miss 7 to their opponent, they win because they got the better quarterback. I agree. Trinidad has the best quarterback in the country for me. He throws it before the receiver ever breaks. He's proven he can do it against in big games. You go back and you watch Trinidad versus Georgia. Then you watch arch versus versus

Georgia. It's like they like dark. Like in one supposed to be a generational guy and the other one

Just dismantled Georgia.

game though comes down to can the LSU defense, just whole search. You're not going to stop Trinidad.

You're, you're not going to finish the shit out. I think they can't let Trinidad win the game,

though. Meaning they have to force, uh, Kwan Lacy to run the football and force Ole Miss to run the football. Um, I think with every team runs the football, the best is going to win. I don't think Laine's going to put the game in Sam Levitt's hands, uh, and Charlie Wise, um, are going to put the game in Sam Levitt's hands. I think it's going to be a lot of run game with Dylan Jones. I think it's going to be Sam Levitt running the football. I think the LSU defense, uh, can set the tempo on set the tone. But I think

when it's all sitting done, if you didn't watch the game and you gave me one step, Kwan Lacy, Dylan Jones, who, who rushes the football more. That's the team that thinks going to win this game because I am going to give Ole Miss credit. That atmosphere is going to be stupid man. It's going to be crazy. I know what it's like to be in that type of atmosphere and those players and like it's going to be stupid. That's going to count for something for Ole Miss. They're going to play with their hair on fire

and LSU just like a basketball game. You got to withstand that first five minutes with standing

motion because you can't play for 60 like that. So once you get past the first five minutes and we

settle in, then it's going to come down. Who runs the ball and who could stop the run?

What about the bullshit part of this? You know, laying going back and then Prince number one for LSU, who was at Ole Miss, he was served with papers today in the parking lot of the football facility and looked Prince and Jordan off the end and looked unstoppable. Now maybe it was just clumps in and maybe it's losing the tech and all that kind of stuff. But I think that feels a little real. You know, whether it's like laying an asset here because everybody goes, hey, we're rallying

for our coach like this place is going to be on fire. They're going to hate him so much. So this gives us all this extra motivation or the part of laying where he kind of can help himself and you wonder, you know, I don't know. I think he's like so focused as a football person. I wouldn't worry about that part of it. But there's just a lot of nonsense that goes along with this and how do you factor that into impacting the game? I'm fair to the nonsense like this. I think before the before told me to

leather, it's going to be a zoo. Everybody's going to be on the field. Both ADs are going to be on the field. Both presidents are going to be on the field. It may be a shouting match. It's going to be a zoo until our told me to leather. At that point, I think laying said it best. I'm not playing peace not playing. And so at that point, it comes down to who's more confident in what they do. Because you got to think having practiced these staffs are so intermingled, they practice to

against each other so much. So, Pete Golden knows Charlie Wise. Charlie Wise knows Pete Golden.

The laying knows Pete. Pete knows Lane. Kevin Smith to run in bad code. You should be like, "Everybody

knows everybody." And so who can be more confident in execute? But it is going to be a told shit show until told me to leather. I don't want to go to this game as far as watching the game. I would love to be on the field 30 minutes before a kid. Because to me, that's where you're going to get the flowers. Because you might get some shoved and pushing. Somebody's going to say something. Somebody's going to throw a battery at Lane. Like, it is going to be total chaos. 30 minutes before

a kid. What's told me is the other man. I think the best team went. Who suffers from coordinator face more? Lane Kiffin or Pete Golden? Coordinator face. I would say I would say Pete because Lane doesn't call the play. Charlie calls the play. Now, Lane lives and dies with every play call that he hears. It's almost like, if you watch his face some time, you can hear him listening to what Charlie is calling. And every nine of his eyes are like, like, like, he's facial expressions

or shame. He's trying not to. And it's pretty weird. If the camera gets on and as the LSU offense is getting a play, it's hilarious to watch his face as you know Charlie is calling the play in the sound. It's not totally fair to Pete because Lane's been a head coach of so many different places. I mean, the Mount Rushmore of coordinator faces, Freddy Kitchens, Marty Morningway. You just look at the face and you go, that's core interface. Like, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I mean, we go through. I would like to figure out the Mount Rushmore coordinator. Like, those are

the two that I've always had kind of locked up. You can't be. So I think that favors Lane a little

bit, but it may just be, you know, the fact that we've seen him be a head coach so many different spots. All right, who do you trust more? Me spotting you for an attempt at 405 or John material on third and eight? Use spotting me at 405 because I'm going to need somebody to pick it up off

Because I had such full five and forever.

you know, as long as you have shirt on, you can spot me. I'm not going to let you spot me with shirt off. That's the different conversation. As far as John material, you talk about it now, it's overrated so far. Like, do he can't, like he can't protocol accurately. It's the most

surprising thing here. It's like this dumb thing, man, how many times have we talked about it?

Some, and it was like, okay, well, that makes sense. Because there were some throws, I think early throws where he was taking contact last year. Like, guys, you're like, holy shit. Okay,

there might be something here. And then it falls apart. They can't run the football. This incredible

defense with an atrocious offense. We're like, that team's going to be in the playoffs. And it's like, look, I'm not telling you price was awesome. That afternoon, but he was better than he was in the first week. So like, that's maybe something to build on for Michigan. But like this was supposed to be the Oklahoma part of it. And then you're watching be like, hey, dude, like, I already knew what to expect. But material was sold to us as like healthy. This is all going to happen. And now I'm like,

man, when you're in that third and long, like, I don't trust you, group. He is like hanging out there right now. Maybe maybe applying for a mortgage. Yeah, I do. I definitely don't trust him. Why didn't Oklahoma run the football more? Like, there's like a 20 to 20. What if I can't? I'm Batman, but, but Ryan, if you go back home, they asked them successful runs against the Michigan defense up the middle. I mean, they ranked. There was one stick was they went eight yards up the middle.

Incomplete pass, six shots up the middle. And then they threw it like seven times in a row and

never came back to the run. I'm like, okay, you already can't run it. But when you do run it,

you go away from it. So here's what I said about Bryce on the wood.

I think people are shouldn't on Bryce on the wood. And the expectations of what we thought

it was going to be to what he is. There's a huge gap right now. But here's what I said. He needs to get with with and I don't know how we didn't have a hazard at Michigan. He needs to get with somebody that can teach him how to understand how to place the pocket. Because we know he can run. Man, the talent is there. Like, it is there dude. Like, it is there. He's got an arm. He can run. He's physical. I just don't think he knows what to look at and when to look at it

in the pocket. And this is, this is not an indictment against the two staffs that he's played for so far. He just needs to get, it's almost like a great athlete getting with a shooting coach. Like a guy who's a, who's a decent basketball player, but they don't know how to shoot. You get him with a shooting coach. Now, okay, this trope looks better. He needs to get with somebody that teaches him, hey, this is the mechanics of playing quarterback.

One, two, three, look here. Look there like, I don't know if Tom Brady will come around because he's a Michigan guy, but he needs to, he needs some help because the kid has talent. Two quick things. Um, so sounds like you're picking LSU, right? I mean, I don't think I could pick anybody else. So you didn't. Right. Okay. I don't even know if you mean it. Because I look, I think the fact this line came out three and a half three tells you.

I was like, I wonder if that had been a really clean LSU beat down, losing an attack or clearly they were better football team. If that would have been impacted line, I don't think it's a ranking thing. Um, but there's, there's a lot about Ole Miss and this matchup that I like, but I'm picking LSU as well. Quick NFL question for it. Oh, it says to best quarterback. Ole Miss is the best quarterback. And anytime you have the best quarterback,

that, as an LSU fan, as a college football fan, the team with the best quarterback, usually has something to say about it. So, um, yeah, I like Levitt. He's played exactly how I expected him to play. I thought it is, is the kind of the scary part of it.

The squirrel. Oh, I don't know how to roll. That's how it. That's what he plays like.

The Rams, they lose to the Niners. They get this giant's team. People start now. Hey, maybe maybe there's some, some dudes on this squad. Give me the record after this stretch to start their season. Niners, giants, Broncos, Eagles, Bills. Those are the first five weeks. Niners, giants, Broncos, Eagles, Bills. I'm going to say the Rams are going to be two and three. Okay. I mean, at a certain point, like, today, no Miles Garrett, no Aaron Donald.

They're better than the giants. Looks like they're better than, uh, probably the Eagles. I think the Broncos are better team. I think the Bills are better football team. Like, nine is already beat him.

I think they're two and three. At some point, here's what we have to look at.

We looked at this team as a super team because of the two defensive players of the year and on defense and right now, I need one of those guys of playing. So now, and on top of that, you can't even stay with it. Now they can go back to being last year's defense. No, they can't because they got it. It was the last year's defense. There's an Cleveland and Jarvers. So you're down. Jarvers, Miles Garrett, and Aaron Donald. Right. But my top thing was like, you know,

you add in young, but I'm adding in down. Fisk is like second now in the depth chart, which was like, was absurd to me. I was like, this is a joke. Then there's also a part that was lingering.

It's like, well, if Kansas City got rid of both corners.

want to pay those guys. And the Rams are the team. They're like, we're going to pay those guys. And

we're going to overall majority of this thing back here. So, you know, we're good. I mean,

but you're right. I mean, the whole thing was this fearful front. And then it's like, there's such a favorite. It's like, oh, we did with this. The Eagles when they call them a dream team, decade and a half ago, like Vince Young was on the team and called them a dream team. He's the one that called them the dream team. Correct. And they went. That Eagles team was an old dream team. Go back, look at that, it was called a check-in. That's their prime. Namdi Osimawa. And it was like, apparently,

you're, because Namdi was nasty. And then all of a sudden, you're like, what's going on here? And you're like, oh, whatever system, like, he did, they're doing the exact opposite with him and fill him. Like, yeah, but then they, then they pay him all this money. It's like, yeah, but they want to do so wide nine. Remember all the wide nine conversations? Look out, right under the wide nine. They love it. Just to remind everybody that if this Ram's thing goes off the rails, they're like, oh,

you guys did this with the Eagles. It's like, no, we didn't Vince Young did it. But we definitely did it with the Ram's. We are, I'm guilty of it because I'm like, well, I just don't understand how you're going to stop this defensive line. I think they're, I think they're going to hold everybody at 17 or less. Say how to the gang, the Gandhi, Jordan, everybody on Saturdays, big part of the day,

love senior man. Thanks for your time. Always. I'll tell everybody, hello. One last question,

but you, how's the, how's the operation golf swing going? The best swing of the worst player you've

ever seen. That's what I've been told numerous times. You know, if I par the first two holes,

then I'll play with randoms. They're like, are you a scratchball for? I'm like, just hang out for a bit. So I still haven't broken 90, which is crazy because I was at, I shot 90 twice right out of the gates. And then it's, the scores got worse. The swing got better. So we had a really nice front. Again, the other day, the heat out here. I'm almost like Ohio State's front. The heat, it's been humid out here in LA. We're not used to that here. So the heat got to me a little bit. I got to start figuring

out maybe a workout before or something just to get my mind right. But those scores are coming. And I've got a, I'm playing Cedar and Missouri here in a couple weeks for the bunch of Vermont guys. So that's a three day tournament. There's some questions based on some swings. If I'm

bolshitting everybody with handicapped, and I've never told them I don't need any of you. What's your

course? No, it's been like, are you like a guy? If it's a short part for, are you going, are you getting like five miles out, are you going to hit driver returns? The driver's probably were most of my problems start because if it's a bad driver day, then I'm fixing it. But I had an incredible bogey off of two terrible shots to start hole. And I was like, this means you're getting better that you actually like are a five on this hole. But I had some great drives. The problem is I was

hitting the piss out of my eyes, like even beyond what I normally would do. So I've got the compression part down. I had a part five where it's a massive, massive, like, dog-like left, like a, a left, hard, 90 degree turn. All right. So I was trying to cut the tree a little bit. I've done it before and the thing just went straight. But it went so straight. It went past the sand traps. So I was in the rough and I was 300 out and I'm going to tell the story because nobody

had played with understood what was happening. And I had an eight iron and I can press it so much. I hit at 188 with 112 to go. No roll because the fairway, this place I placed, is a dump. You hit it 180. Yeah. No roll. Like it was muddy because it just was like stuck in the fairway. So I parted it because I was like, I figured, hey, if I hit it right, I'll be 16 170 and then I'll be 130 in. So I am getting a little bit better. The management thing. I'm also getting better

of like not trying to fight a bad drive and just getting back and getting into play. So I'm actually striking the shit out of it. But now I went to hit a gap wedge and I hit it like 140. So I was like, well, fuck, I don't know what to do now. It went 20. It was right online with a pin and it was 20 yards past the green. So if the guys I'm playing with are you the dumbest? I was like, I just can't figure out what anything is because, you know, the eight iron should for me should be 165 170. And if my

drives are even playable, then I think those low scores are coming because shipping and putting actually I'm good at because I play the part three all the time. So that's the full scouting report. I love it. The fact that you're and I call compressing the piss out of it. I'm going to change that that's going to be your new name in my phone compressing the piss out. Yeah, compressing. I love it.

That's what we're working on. I try to do what the pros do. One of my friends play with me. He's like,

I've never seen anyone in person hit a foreign like that. He's like, only pros and you do that. And

you're still not going to break 90 today. And I was like, here we go. I love you friends like you. You're the man, but talk to you soon. Let's play them. I have talked a lot about my relationship

With raising Cain's and their founder Todd Braves who when I first met him, I...

guy doing? Like, he's going to perfect the chicken figure. And I was like, is he? That's then that's that's it. And he did it. He did it. And man is he the epitome, the example of like focus, determination,

hard work. And when I got like talk, Grace is doing well. I think the right guys are winning.

He's also with raising Cain's friends with Sam Burns and sponsoring the PGA tour call for who's an LSU alum Louisiana native and a good friend of Cain's founder Todd Graves. You may have seen the Cain's logo on his collar during tournaments this season ahead of the BMW championship

Sam and raising Cain's hosted kids from first T and boys and girls club of St. Louis from meet and

greet and golf lessons by Sam himself at a driving range in St. Louis. And of course, Cain's chicken fingers and Cain's sauce. I'm telling you, I can see a lot of people out there being like, that Cain's sauce was ahead of its time. You see it, too. They're like, a lot of people, trying to step on it, the sauce corner of raising Cain's and it is it happening folks because they're just something about that combination of the anticipation of that first bite

and you're like, I'm home again. That sort of feels like raising Cain's chicken fingers, one love. It's one of the biggest stories of the weekend, Oklahoma states upset against Oregon.

They're quarterback Drew Mr. Maker joins us on the show. So off the loss to Tulsa the first week,

how did you feel before the kick off against Oregon? Yeah. I felt like it was our time to prove

what kind of offense we were and what kind of team we were. That loss to Tulsa was honestly

kind of embarrassing for us. It's not how we wanted our first game to go and I felt like we all kind of knew our game against Oregon was a good bounce back game. I'm watching the game and I'm like, okay, they're moving the ball. They get to feel goal and then you move the ball. You moved it one, 44 before the pick six, 96 yards the other way. I know it's going to be so frustrating for you, but was there any discussion on the sideline of like, hey, we're we've moved the ball here.

There's there's something in this game for us. Like, what was going through your head even after disappointing play like that? Yeah, Coach Morris and our offensive coordinator, Coach Broffey, we're on us on the sidelines and we're moving the ball on these guys. Like, if it wasn't for a tip pass and if we were to score it on that first try, that's 14 points and so we look up and it says seven to three, but we've gotten into the red zone twice on these guys. We're rolling

right now and so I felt like all the guys felt that confidence of like we're kind of rolling on offense right now and I think that was a great job by Coach Morris getting us into plays that you know kind of played in our strengths and I felt like got the guys confident set. Like a lot of people watching, you know, because of Oregon's expectations this year, they take the lead 31th or you're like, okay, well, you know, this was this was fun.

What was what was going on with you guys is disappointing is it probably was losing the lead? Yeah, I felt like we were so like confident in that part of the game. Like our offense, felt so good. I felt like defense was playing so strong and I felt like there was no no doubt, like no flinching for many of the guys. We all kind of knew like all right, we're going to go drive down the field again and so I felt like there was no thoughts of like, oh, here it goes like

it was fun, but like, here it goes. I felt like there were no no feelings like that. Yeah, and then you went right down the field, including where I thought when you ran it in for the go ahead, touchdown, there was a moment where you were like, am I really going to do this? Is that fair?

Yeah, that's that's fair. I've never done anything like that before and I don't know what came over

me, but I was just, I was just doing anything I could to get in that end zone. And when you got hit by their DB who, you know, unfortunately, was hard on that play, I, I noticed you when you got up, you were hurt and then I went, okay, let me look at the replay. You were hurt on the landing. Is that fair? Yeah, yeah, I landed my back. You got the wind knocked

down to me, but besides that, I was good. Did you have to go to class today?

I'm actually in all online classes. So, so does that mean you don't get to walk around campus today after when like that? I imagine you got to get out for lunch or something at some point, right? Yeah, yeah, I've already gotten stopped. Our facilities across the street from our indoor and so there was someone walking across at the same time as we were. So, I've already gotten stopped so far. You must love Eric Morris your head coach because he grabbed you at North Texas brings you to Oklahoma

State. Were you highly recruited in high school? No, I wasn't. I had zero authors just some

Just too walk on opportunities.

I was. I was. Were you surprised were you like, man, you know, how come, how come there's not

more people coming after me? No, I actually never started a game in high school. Oh, well, there you go.

It was on freshman BT my first year and then was a backup quarterback my whole career in high school. So, what did Coach Morris, what did you talk about when he was bringing you to North Texas? Well, I actually got hooked up with them by a quarterback coach that I knew Jeff Christianson, who he found me through an Instagram DM and so I got hooked up with Jeff

Christianson went through with him and he told Coach Morris, he was like, you need to take this guy

and Coach Morris is like, all right, let me send me his film and he was like, you didn't have any film. And so they Jeff sent him some videos of me throwing and they were like, all right, if someone quits will, we'll give him a walk on spot. And so I was like, surely they're not going to call me back and they called me like a week later and he's like, hey, someone quit, like, would you want to come be a walk on and I was like, yeah, I'm there and just showed up like a month later

for the summer workouts and just want from there. But just so we can clarify for not only myself with the audience, did you not play your senior year because there was just somebody else that was there that was considered better than you? Yeah, my junior year, the kid is now bailer as their catcher. So I kind of like, and he was the returning starter. So I knew I was going to play my junior year. And then my senior year, I thought I was going to play and then I kid transferred in who was like a

four star. And we had a quarterback battle in the name, Tim, the starter. And so I went and played

safety and corner my senior year. So at North Texas, was it an open competition?

What been your second year on campus? Is that right? Yeah, yeah, it was a they brought in a kid

from Miami to compete with me because I played in the bull game, my true freshman year. And so they brought a kid in from Miami to like true competition and they named me the starter like the week before week one, like week zero, the season. So that was my really first taste of being QB one. So I went back and watched a lot of the tape and I'm not some like, you know, football, hardcore guru. So I'm not going to pretend that I know, but I that throw that you had against

rice for the touchdown for 52 yards, where you had all that traffic, your feet, that was one rose. All right, let me rewind that one again. And then it's just deep shot. It's the scene

throws. It's you moving around back there. I think more than you get credit for and find in this,

have you. I don't want to get you. It's it's what it was like, have you can't help but notice. So it's like, okay, I went from not playing in high school to no offers to now I'm seeing myself in a first round mock draft. Has that happened? Yeah, 100%. I mean, it's it's wild that it's all

happened this fast, you know, I kind of always like, new one day like I could be a great quarterback,

but I did not expect it all to happen this fast. And I think, Coach Morrison, Coach Profi has developed me so fast and really gotten me up the speed of, I think helped me with the all the missing reps I had in high school. Yeah, that's kind of the beauty of your stories. Like, I imagine if this guy starts getting steady reps. What was it about, what happened? I actually imagine I can probably guess, but if Coach Morris takes the okay, if he takes the Oklahoma State job, how quick is that

conversation with you? Like, hey, you're coming with us, Drew. Yeah, it was, I mean, pretty quick and he told me he was like, you're our guy, like, but he was like, you're going to have to tell me what you're doing, too, because at the end of the day, like, we want you and we only want you, but if you're not going to come here, we still got to have a quarterback next year and I was like, yeah, like, I'm, I'm going to see what other people have to say, but like, you're, your my number one.

So I told him that and he was like, all right, like, that's fine with me. I just, like, our relationship strong enough that I'll tell you what we're doing and you tell me what you're doing. And so I took a call of like, one of their school and I called him and told him about it and he was like, all right, like, that's cool. Whatever, but don't break my heart and then just hung up on me. How's like, all right, I'm, I'm going there. I'm going out. I'm saying it. So that was a pretty quick decision for me.

Two quick things before we finish here.

because even Coach Morris, it said, like, hey, we got on these guys and you would said they got on us. Was there a moment that stuck out in particular of how tough that week was watching the film and going through everything in preparation of Oregon? Yeah, I think just right after the game, you know, Coach Morris walks in and he's like, that's the most embarrassing offensive performance I've ever been a part of. And I mean, I agree, honestly, it, it was bad. And we weren't playing our

game. We weren't playing physical. We weren't playing fast. We weren't making plays. And,

but I think that's what's so great about Coach Morris is he's going to tell it's

tell it to you straight off. He's going to be your biggest fan whenever, whenever things go great and whenever things don't go great, he's going to be on you to be better because he knows, he knows what kind of team we are. You're a lot of fun to watch. And that's what I saw from the take last year, because you will just get out there and sling it. And I think it's going to be a lot of fun to watch you play the position and continue to grow. And I think you should at least

make an excuse to go to the bookstore on campus at some point this week just to be, you know, because I know it's all online, but maybe buy yourself a hoodie and get some of the praise that

you guys deserve after that wins. So thank you. Guys, the NFL season is finally here.

Early 2000s, hell you lit biscuit CD just came out. Look out now. You're looking at a guy who's revolvered or just came in. Yes sir. No dude, Polos are back in the like the rugby Polos. I could not be more in. I want all of them. Dark eye John Elliott just launched a whole new line shout out to John

Elliott. Still listens to the podcast. It wasn't just you know. It wasn't a play. Yeah, good. Yeah. That was huge. I got a text from out of nowhere. I was like oh my god. Because when you had a spot that popped up in Aspen I'm like oh it's you think I want like a discount right now. I kind of know what to do and I didn't. I mean who was going to say no to it but I was kind

of like hey, Spot looks great and it's like oh Asper Kyle. Like that? Yeah that promo never came through

but you know it was yours to go now. So all good. Look who's got his hand down. Nice dude. It's cold weather time. I'm not a stocked up as I used to be. You look great. Feel great. Thank you. Yeah. How that's a long sleeve rugby Polo right? Yeah it is.

Did I see a I think Puka like shell necklaces are back. It's getting like real weird.

You know like the Hollister vibe. They got a draw line somewhere and I think he's probably there. I'm not saying I'm a buy one good thing. It's coming back. Is this your first time realizing things are cyclical with fashion? No. I don't think that is like an insulting thing because you guys are so much younger than me. Is this the first like wow? No. It just is weird to have it happen to you

for the first time, you know. Yeah. That little cousin was wearing Jinko as a couple years ago and I was

like wait a second. Okay. That's all right. And he was looking for like lived in ones like I don't even think they were making it. Maybe they booted the factors back up after they realized what was going on. But he was like, you know, some dirty, dirty persons, whole-filled jeans. You know, like that's the type of shit they were searching for, you know, in the internet. So that was maybe a wake-up monster. I could see a pile back in the day. Jinko jeans, big old silver chain hanging.

Out of the pot. I did have a chain while I just now even I felt it was wrong back then though. I had a lot of Velcro waltz, you know, that's when you're a kid. They just give you like, "Oh, you can put your, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're,

Kids just have Uber accounts and, you know, Uber eats accounts and shit.

you know, they're just abusing it. I think that's what I live in Manhattan Beach is a

kid, so it's slightly different, and inflation. But those are all it's just kind of different topics. So Kyle looks great. Maybe he'll post something on Instagram. Maybe just tag revolve. I know that's not like direct cash flow to you, but you're benefiting from it. Yeah, I agree. I don't have any issue with that. Okay. Thanks. By the way, the merch, I got the, I'm supposed to get samples here on the merch. You've got to say, I got the pictures of everything. There's one

piece that is Kyle related that we're waiting on. There could be a delay with that one. Can we set along on what that was? We're having some issues. Okay. You got to happen. See the meaning

and shit. I don't like Kyle piece. I think it's just better if you're not in the meetings,

because we're trying to do this to surprise you and have you be excited. All right, when you, when you capture like that, I agree. No, I agree. Yeah. I mean, you've been a little impatient about it as it's like from day one, there was going to be a whole Kyle line and it was like, well, that's probably not happening, but all but if we can, if we can grandfather in some clauses, where I went to Albany and in Cacovid, right. I'm just afraid. I'm afraid that you're from now, this is going to be like

70% off. So, then I'm on the hook for that. It's cool. Like a amount of family. That's fair. You know, these are things I don't have to think about. So, I'll just want to happen. Listen, yeah, the intensity of what you think you have for a syllable product in that moment is sometimes very misleading. Oh, yeah, right. Just start now. I'll see. That's a great one. How could not. How could we not? I don't think there's anything with the Kyle one that, I don't think is ending with Kyle one. That's

going to be, that's going to be like in the moment though. These are going to be, I mean,

I think people are going to want the Kyle merch. No, these are going to be, they'll be vintage

in 20 years. I value you guys. Things that hang around. No one, you're going to have it in your hand going to do. I donate this and then I don't know and they're going to put it back in the stay pile. I think for people listening now, it would be a hand me down. It'd be like a family heirloom. I do think there's a joke that we're 80% off on the bar stool store. I went to Albany and got COVID. I almost want to do it now. Just to see that, even if it caused an ideal

thousands of dollars. Yeah. But again, this is my point. Like we're not making, they're going to be a thousand of these t-shirts made, like maybe five, 10. Probably not for the demand. Because then it would be, we'd have to charge the economics of it. Just don't work out. I mean, we could make five really bad ones for probably not that much. Then if they sell out when people freaking out and you get some sort of influencer, like a

Jamie Kennedy, where's one of the, I was going to resell a original on. Yeah, he drew on this one. Dude, dude, dude, that's a whole bunch of sikes. It's an old plus walking around with an Albany COVID shirt. Maybe it blows up. All right, emails. Let's get to it. No feedback today. Happy anniversary from a friend. This one's short and sweet. We love it. 28 years old, 510, 165, former D3 basketball player. Don't work out. The plug pickup rep.

Reck hoops a couple of times for week now. I'm sure you must kill it if you play D3. I mean,

that's a serity. Gentlemen, quick one. My wife and I just celebrated our third wedding anniversary. My buddy texted me, wishing me a happy anniversary. Is this weird for a guy to messages friends on their wedding anniversary? Was he in the wedding? If, if, yeah, it's, you know, who cares? No, this isn't normal. Yeah, but it's not like, I don't think it's that weird. Is it like, is it like, we all have that friend that's like kind of really nice and remember things?

Shout out to my guy Shane's, my friend. Jesus, he's just kind of like always been that way.

I don't know that he would wish us a happy anniversary, but he just like remember stuff that the other guys in the group won't forget or will forget. Ironically, we forgot in his birthday, like several times over the years, which is a bummer. I'm sure you put it like, I don't know. Like, it's, if he's like the nice friend of the group and like this isn't like, if he's like a dog, and it's like, hey, you're kind of worried about what the heck's going on. Yeah, that is weird.

If he's, if he's a nice guy, I think it's probably fine. If he's funny, if your friends are being thoughtful, you know, your antenna's up, you're like, what the hell? Good. Yeah. Hey, tell your one of us in a happy anniversary. You know, interestingly enough though, like, why don't we be too great lately? Maybe you took a bunch of pictures at your wedding. You know, iPhone does that thing where like, throw something at you, like, on this day, three years ago. Like,

it could have just been, you know, I don't think there's anything wrong with surrendering to your feelings. It'd be like, hey, man, happy anniversary. Maybe it's a different version of that. Missia, hope you're doing well. Whatever. That's okay. I wouldn't make a habit of it, but I think it's okay, if, you know, the feeling grabs in your, like, I'm going to go send this guy a note. That's nice. Yeah, like, this is the classic, like, fellas, is it gay to wish your friend a happy anniversary?

Until, I can know. I just, I just think it's just like a nice gesture in a way. Unless it's creepy. Have you ever done it? Of course not, but that's not my personality.

Kyle? No. No chance. You're just never crossed my mind, you know? Yeah.

I think it's weird. I don't think it's bad, and I think somebody makes a great point, shout out

To Shane.

this person's so incredibly nice. Sometimes I'm actually that person. Was that the farmer's market, yesterday Manhattan Beach ran into Watertown, Whiskey Zone, Mikey. He was with his daughter, her friend. We were over at one of the fruit places there, and our net farms, shout out to them, just shout out to them, just shout out, I'm like @Ninverk right now. And they make these like homemade

fruit roll-ups. They're absolutely incredible, but they're like 15 bucks for just the pack. So it's

not a box of fruit roll-ups. It's just this sort of like strips these fruit strips. And they didn't know like that. The other shit though, right? It's not like that. That's not good. That's not good. How would it grades? Do you trust me? When it comes to compressed fruit? I guess I have to. So they didn't know the deal. The kids were just grabbing a couple of plums and he was like, running around. They're like, I'm just trying to kill 40 minutes here. He's like, you farmers market

every week. I was like, yeah, every week. Now, I'm pretty close to retiring. And I grabbed the kids some some smash fruit and said, hey, you know, one for each. This is a good stuff. And it was kind of like, now he knows me. Uncle, right. I have that in me. You have it. Yeah, that's weird. That wasn't

really pretty meditative though. You know, that was sort of like, oh, look at these guys are here.

What could I do now that everyone's here? I'm not trying to take it right for them. I want to give it to me. I'm ready. This is it. Yeah, I could buy fruit for my own kid. You do nice things for people. And it, and it like, it's alarming. Like it frightens people. I've seen that happen over the years. Like, why is Ryan doing this? Like, we had an old boss at ESPN that was like, Ryan, like, gave me this thing. What am I supposed to do with this? And it was like, no, he's just like,

it's just a gesture. But you're, like, you're so, it's so not you that it like catches people off guard. Yeah, cursing a gift. You are thoughtful, but you're also, you know, people think you're a little intense. Dear, you say, cold. I don't think you're cold. You're, you're just like, you know what

you like and what you don't like and you don't compromise for other people's feelings.

Whoa, whoa, Kyle, do you hear that? I heard it. I'm still processing.

I think that's a fair assessment. And I think it's, oh, I think it's like a bad thing.

No, it's completely, I can thank you for the compliment. All right, five, 11, two, 11. No, five, 11, two, 10. I don't know. He could be two, 11 right now, depending on water retention. Malcolm Mackie box out demon with a sneaky post game pull up his picture. You don't be great. If we ever get the graphics package is we just right on Netflix, that guy's face whenever the comp comes up. And I still want to get this laugh track going, but we just haven't had the

budget for it yet. I got a local grocery store widely known to be the most expensive in the area. He says the name. He asks us not to share it. There's more expensive places than this, but I'll say this place is actually, you know what, he's right. This one can be absurd. I think they want that's rotisserie chicken and it's generally a relaxed shopping experience with good produce. So it is part of the grocery store rotation. I figure I pay at least $30, 40 more dollars than I would

at an alternative store to offset the price. I visit the Pokebar shoveled out $20 with a raw fish cubes into a bowl and eat them while walking and shopping through the store. When I disclose the strategy to my friends, it typically gets laughter. That's a good idea. That's the quote that he gets from his friends. But most recently, my brother-in-law called me a thief and seemed generally disappointed in this behavior. Don't get me wrong. There is zero chance caps. I'm going

to stop doing it unless they tackle me in IL-5 and rip the spicy tuna from my clenched claws.

But I'm always interested in the perspective of triumvirate. So what say you?

I wouldn't brag about this. You know, it's not like you're doing this from Aldi. It's exactly what he's doing. Yeah. It's not like you're grabbing a couple of cans of peas from Aldi. You chose to go to this store and you're like trying to make it even. It's like, those stores aren't meant to be costly. Those stores aren't meant to be fair. Even the same bottle of water that you could find in your grand union or wherever you're shopping is going to be.

It's the same product. It's not like the quality is better. It's just like, it's just going to be $3 more here. Sorry. That's the choice you make when you go in there. If you're just going to sit, if you're stealing to steal, it makes you feel good. If you get a rush, you know, you feel like you're getting over. That's fine. But it's not because you're getting even. You know, you don't go into a store like that to get even. It was my point. And I just wouldn't tell

people about it. Yeah. I'm kind of a Kyle on that. I think it's, I would probably judge. I wouldn't do

that. I would judge my friends who do it. I wouldn't paddle on them. I wouldn't think they're like a worse person. But I'd be like, yeah, it's kind of weird. Like if it's a pattern of things and you're just like that guy's kind of a strength dude, maybe I shouldn't be boys with him. But if you're like at overall normal dude, everyone's got that flaws. It's kind of not the end of the world. But it is kind of like that's blatantly stealing. And you know, at some point like how you might get caught and

Probably isn't going to be worth like a juicy thing and be worth a squeeze on...

you know, who knows there might have a sting operation already with the cameras in there. Just wait

for you to do this again. But yeah, I don't know what kind of town you're in. But like in LA, like they're starting to put guides in there, you know, with badges and shit. And they're they're watching for who's doing what, you know. And if you're not in a town that, you know, is starting to adopt that philosophy. But, you know, there's dude with weapons in the grocery store now. So I'm just saying like they might be, you know, all I have to do is cross your path.

I've been told in the big cities, you could just steal whatever you want. That's what that's well. Here's the pushback. Yeah. Now there's a full-time guy in there. Somebody's been getting their Hannity on. So, now. Yeah, the way the guy framed it, like, hey, it's one of the

more expensive places. So it's like, what, so, okay, you know, like, so it was like shop, right?

It'd be cool. You'd be like, actually, no, it's not, it's not all right. I mean, like he thinks, he thinks he's like Robin Hood. Like, is this what's happening here? Like, which is for himself? I don't know. Yeah, I don't, I don't really, I'm surprised he was surprised at anyone in his circle giving him pushback. Maybe it was all the people around him just being like, that's awesome. You steal fish and just eat it there and then leave the, I mean, all of us,

can do this, if we want to. And this isn't back to like the hot sauce theory. But, sure, you know, you want to grab a great test of firmness. I think that's in play. Yeah. Some people would try to say, like, it's hard and fast, the exact same thing. That one grape is not $20 with a fresh diced up tuna. I think the grape sampling, one, you probably know the firmness on one.

You never know, though, if you want to do a second grape check, I think that's all within

that gray area of accepted produce research. This is not. You're not sampling it to decide if you want it. You're just, like, I could do this with a salad bar. I could do this with a deli sandwich. Like, every, you could take a juice and expensive $15 juice at any of these stores. I could go to aaron and pound one of those magical elixirs and then leave the bottle in the back. But I don't know where you process this where you think specific to this lane, whether it's this place, it's

really expensive, or that the rest of your buddies were like, this is awesome. Like, how are you surprised that your brother-in-law was like, what the fuck are you doing then? Far, far this old go is, you know, they say no food shop hungry and sometimes, I'm, you know, I'd be in rouse and I'm like, oh, shit, I'm hungry. I fuck this up. I would go to the prepared food section, munch on something while and there, and then have the awkward thing where

I hand, like an empty container to the lady and be like, oh, I'll pick for this. If you haven't got to hand the container, no, you're like, that's not true. No, it's true. I've been out of trouble. There was a point of time where it's like wrong place, wrong time, Murphy's law to go back to what we talked about last week. I was like, wow, that all those things really have formation bias. Yeah, exactly. There was a point in time. So now like, whenever I even think about doing the wrong

thing, I'm like, do you think, you know how silly it would be if this is what your downfall was? If this ship brought you down, if you're going to Dr. County court for this, come on. So that's that could be on the street in there. Not to not to change the subject a little bit.

That's how I felt with the rabies thing. I was like, am I really going to just die from rabies?

It's like I have to get the shot. There's no chance I got paid by this thing, but like am I really going to be the one guy in 2026? You'd die from rabies. No, so there you go. So I know anyway, we're on about way of saying I know how you feel. Yeah, I mean Michael Scott would have had your back rabies of awareness. I remember there was a time where I think it was at Home Depot and I saw like a Twix bar, you know, the shingles and I went to my dad. I was like, hey can I

I can just take this, right? He was like, no, not in the proper way. It's not just it's not just like hidden candy from someone else. I was also probably like nine. Good luck. Kyle just hits me up side tax, group tax doesn't matter. Face times audio messages that the darts are down and the pouches are up. Thanks to Lucy, nicotine pouches. 64, 229 years old. I think that's important. 29. I'll remember that. JJ Hicks and

except significantly worse. There was a time where JJ Hicks and woes are untouchable for a Maurice Stottamire. Two years ago, I actually took Ryan's advice. I was living in San Francisco

Working and finding it's between the hours and everything else.

the boys. I heard Ryan talk about how he killed to get a what's the move text on a Friday night again. That ain't that ain't the truth. And maybe the thing is, I probably like I have football data tomorrow. I don't want to do it. And maybe realize I didn't want to spend my late 20s missing that part of life. So I moved back home to Bend, Oregon. We're most my friends live. It's been incredible. So genuinely thank you for the advice. One life at a time. I moved into a house with

four other guys and a dog. And we've been there for about two years. The beginning of this month though, our landlords told us they're moving back into the house. So we have 60 days to get out and now I'm at a crossroads. Living with the boys has been an absolute bath, a blast. But living with four other dudes is also starting to wear on the people come home drunk late on week nights. Oh.

The house constantly being dirty, never really having your own space. There's also the dating

side of it. Nothing quite like telling a female woman you live with four dudes and watching her face process and information real time. So I'm considering getting my own place, my questions. Am I throwing away some of the best years of the boys by moving out? Do I need to suck it up and keep living with them? How much is the four roommate situation actually hurting me with dating versus me just looking for something else to blame for being single? That's that's its own

branch of philosophy. And is there an age where the answer is simply, yeah man, you're 29 get your own place. Love the pod. Keep the travel pods coming. Hopefully this wasn't too long.

No, it's a great deal. I think he's growing up. I think our guys growing up because it's

he's noticing that he's noticing the dudes are coming home drunk and it's not normal to his

29 year old brain anymore on a Wednesday night. He's noticing that the place has never once been

fully clean. You know what I mean? He's noticing some of these things out of matter to him. Yeah. Yeah, notice some things that are important. It's almost like the boxes in the water, starting to like not really little anymore. People in like an abusive relationship. Maybe that's not the best example, but they're like telling you all the good qualities, but they're just like, yeah, you know, but he cares so much. There's all these things that are actually kind of glaring that he's,

you know, but I don't want to lose this thing, but like there's really important things that are kind of tenants of grown-up's life that he's sort of noticing. He's not going to be able to get. I'd say he called you fat in front of many people at brunch. He's going to be a good dad, I think. He's been working so hard. But I think, I think if there's a look better, is there anyone else who's starting to like maybe afraid to say it and is also looking around? Is there anyone else who's

maybe going to break up? This seems like a natural point of like, it'll be interesting. Yeah. Yeah, he's 29, right? It's also, hey, this is like a grown-up. He was six, two and a half when he sent in the email. Man, that's a good early 30th birthday thing. Hey, like you're in a adult now, dude, like try this new thing out in your 30s. Like it's this is a different stage of life,

different decade of your life. I think this is a good, a good opportunity for you to do that. Like

to your, to answer your question about the dating thing, like is that going to address your dating life overnight probably not, but it can't hurt. Yeah. And listen, like, there's just, I, like, I've got a golf weekend trip coming up with, I think, in two weekends. Congrats. Like, you find, I think we're, are we both golfing on golf trips the same weekend? The, what is it that weekend of the 25th? Yeah. No, maybe not this weekend, the following weekend. Going up to Kenny

Bunkforce, going to be a good time. Anyway, what was I saying? Oh, you find, you find different ways to hang out with your buddies. Like it just evolves as time happens. If you've got this group, and you're still all in the same, and you're still in the same town, like, it's going to be different, but there's still ways to have fun with this guy. So it doesn't just like die forever. If you just move out, it just, it's, it's changed. And then again, you can kind of move on and be a little bit more

of an adult that you seem to want to be right now. This is like a nice new glass apartment building. It's got a few units available, and you're like, boys, we're going to take over this third floor. You know, I mean, you could just get up just as excited about this. Instead of, you know, four dudes and one or two baskets, you know what I mean? Maybe this, maybe this is just the, the natural evolution of you guys are going to say, "Clome an area." Yeah. That you see in the catalog,

and you click on the website, you're like, "Oh my god, it was firm." Dude, they got shuffled in the background, actually. What is that? Jasmine? Smells good. When I was younger, going through like, "Hey, I get to upgrade to a nicer apartment." You're like, "Oh my god, a pool tape." I'm like, "Oh, everyone from the building that all hang out here." You're going to meet so many people,

and it's like, goes town empty. I've never seen one person in here. There's no age, right?

The age is, there's no way to just say, "Hey, by 35, you should do this." I would say, you know,

North of 35, when you probably start going like whatever, but what's important to you? Do you want to start a family? Yeah, there's going to be plenty of female women that eventually are like, if I'm going to come home with you, and we're going to do like a cuddle day, there's four other guys fucking running around, including a dog, so that's not going to be for everyone. But is that the only reason? It's limiting the pool or, you know, or the reason? What Dave really loves school

By cue.

It just gets hyped. We've got to watch Toledo on the main screen, because it's cousins of walk on or something. I'm like, "Okay." But I don't think you need to like, set this hard and fast

age of like, you have to do it. But I think it's a really kind of nailed it, and you guys both

of like, "Can't you just live with one of the other guys and get something a little bit smaller and break off?" And it's really up to you to all decide to hang out. You could also say, like, "You guys did it in a way, which is extended. It's incredible." You know, I mean, I've heard people say there was this group of like five guys that lived together in San Francisco for I think four or five guys that lived in the top chef house, and I couldn't believe I was like, "Wait,

they're all still living together." And I was like, "Can I come visit?" I think I was friends with half of them, just because I was so excited. I was like, "I can't believe it." It was like an exhibit, right? Yeah, I don't think I've lived with anybody since '02. Wow." And that was like a part-time

disaster while I also had been living by myself, I think since '99. So, I've never lived with one.

Meaning either man. Yeah, I mean, this is other than that weird window of a disaster situation,

which was sort of temporary because I was writing a room and then going back and forth, I think

I've been, I think I just realized, I've never lived with anybody for like 27 years. Jesus. I check sound. You put it on paper, there you have. Yeah, I think that's just, that's kind of low in the future, right? Yeah, wow. I'm, okay, Kyle and I are sitting here, but I've lived with someone here. Thirty-one, what about like? How old were you when you moved in with your wife, Suri?

It was, I think it was about 10-11 years ago at this point, so I would be around, like in my late 20s, probably I went straight from like the West Harfer, then we moved and got a place and so I went from live it with one of my old college roommates to my future wife, basically in my late 20s, yeah. You just went, like, from cigarettes, right into hard drugs.

Or, you could say the other way, just to green juices. But I never felt like, man, this is weird

that I'm living with another guy. It was also one other guy, so it's not like it was like, this commune of dues that it's just overwhelming. But I was never like, man, I need to like figure out, just like live by my own. It wasn't like abnormal, especially like the girls that I would have a roommate at that point in my life, so I guess I'm not in the same spot as this guy was. Kyle, how old were you? You've been living with your wife for a long time, right?

I think I was probably freshly 27. I think I was the move, yeah. Check out the maturity on this show. Yeah. What do you think you'd be like if you had been single this whole time? Think it's a lot more work, you know, if certain parts of being single are important to you, you know, think I'd be at home less, you know? I don't know, I think I'd be exhausted to be honest

with you. I think I'd be fucking exhausted. What do you think you'd be like, sir, Rudy?

Living by myself? Yeah. I play a lot more video games. 20, 90s. I watch a lot more movies. Not old ones. I'd be so much court. No. You have a letter boxed. Yeah. I probably would. Yeah. Substack. That's not about that. New England. I don't know about that. But no, it's good because I need, I'm kind of a home body. Like I need an excuse to get out of house and do things and that's what a roommate of my name is. If you didn't lock her up when you did,

you know, I was, you'd say nothing. I might still be still be looking. So be searching. You never know.

I wasn't like out there on the prowl being that I said at my laying in Habs. Yeah, or look lurking. But now I was, I was not one of those years like on the prowl. So you're right. I did work. I'm like, you can rest there. Did you notice me? I was in the bathroom. You're seeing that? Yeah, guy he'd long hair on the back there. That was a pretty great vampire. Yeah. I'm happy for both of you, guys. All right. One more email. You do did.

That felt I don't, what is, what was that? That was fucking slick. Is what that was. No, no, no, even though it's just too fucking fast. It was so good. It was so good that we, I almost just had a pause and acknowledge the delivery there. Okay. All right. This one I could cook on for a while. So I was saving it. 20 years old, 510, 170 entering junior year at a big party school bench, 225 for three. So not exactly combine numbers, but I figured I'd get that out of the way before we slow asks. I actually never ask.

They just junior year as an artist. That's the headline. That sounds great. Big party school. Going into my sophomore year, I was a virgin and pretty depressed. Boy, so Rudy's good thing

You never ran into this guy.

Paralyze you have to interpret it. So virgin, pretty depressed about the fact girls basically weren't looking my way. At the time, I convinced myself that this is the source of most of my unhappiness. I figured if I got in great shape, became more confident, actually started having success with girls. I'd be good. So basically, grinded my ass off. Got extremely shredded. Probably as close to my dream physique as I'm ever going to get. And suddenly the attention from girls completely changed.

I dated a few absolute smoke shows over three months stretch. Nothing serious. But for those few months, I felt incredible. I genuinely don't remember feeling depressed at all. Eventually, though, the high war off. The weird part is that I didn't lose any of the things I thought would make me happy. I still have the physique. I'm more confident with girls. And now that I know I can date attractive women, career wise, things are going well too. I landed the internship. I

wanted next summer on paper. 18 year old me would look at my life now and probably think I had everything figured out. Instead, lately I've started feeling empty. And like everything is kind of pointless again. Not suicidal or anything close to that. No need to turn this into that kind of a bit. We would be.

You know, there's certain things that we get. Like I would never have ever feel. So, right. I

appreciate the clarification. Keep in mind. It's more than I spend so much time thinking, quote, once I get X, I'll be happy. Then I get X, Y, and Z, and realize the happiness from achieving them was temporary. I know the obvious answer is probably that you can't base her entire happiness. I'm girls your physique or career accomplishments. But when those were the things motivating you for years, what do you replace them with? Have any of you ever gone through a period where you

achieved something where you were convinced? It would make you happy. Realized it didn't. Then had to figure out actually what gave your life meaning. How do you yourself out of that route without just picking another arbitrary goal and convince yourself the next thing will find be enough. Thanks, boys. Sometimes I wish I had a little more of this guy in me. You know,

I think I swing the other way. You know, I'm definitely we've been over this. I'm a work to live

guy and not quite a live to work guy. And maybe I need a little bit more of that guy in me. But I don't know. It's not like he needs to pick something that doesn't end. Maybe like woodworking

or, you know, golf is good. That kind of never ends. You know, there's if he's just constantly

a goal, you know, center and achiever, you need something that's a little bit more long game. Sounds like if you have a kid by accident though, your whole life will get better. But outside of that, you know, I'd find something that's like doesn't have a clear end point. Let's get the internship coming up next summer. So I don't know about the kid part. Yeah, let's maybe hold off for a few years. Just say it if it happens. Sounds like he's a man

about town. I'm kind of with YouTube. I'm not, you know, I have, I have a close group of friends that I that I talked to a lot. I think I've talked in the pot of a home, not like the best guy going out and making new friends. Like I kind of like have what I have. And I'm sort of content with that. And maybe me being content is not like I should go out more, think about these

things and meet more people. But I just kind of don't. But I think I would guess I would ask this guy

like what, like does he know what he wants in life? Like does he, is this job kind of like the thing

that he, this career path? Is that like the thing that he's always been dreaming of? Is it just a thing?

Like is, is the reason that, you know, he started dating some hot chicks and now like if it was all kind of shallow, because that because you actually are yearning for some actual connection of someone that you love and that are interesting and want to like spend your life with. Like that's these are all things that you could look forward to. You saw like plenty of life to live and things to do. We're not like you've checked off everything on your list. So I would just keep

living your life and trying new things and, and, and, and I just kind of feel like it will solve itself ultimately. Um, you know, like, if you, maybe he's not like specific enough with in his own head about what he wants. But I think just like you'll kind of find your way in that way. Like you have so much of your 18 year in college. You feel good about yourself for the first time at least physically. You've had some attention from girls. You've got a good job. Like there's a lot of things

positive things to check off up. But it's not like this is the end of the road for you. There's still so much more to do that I would just kind of keep on the same path. Yeah, it sounds like he's got some preconceived notions. Like he probably went to college thinking he was going to get late and that's what everybody does. And that took him two fucking years. And then he did that. And now it's like, I thought it was going to be different. I feel like he's like he's waiting for something to happen

that maybe just explore life, man. I don't know. But like is he going to get like, is he like just saying it's like a financing? Like maybe he's like incredible internship gets like some big finance shop and it's like, man, I finally made it. And then you still feel kind of empty. Like, well, all right, turn it out. It was the boat. The boat is what I need. Now it's about getting there. Well, maybe you need like a side hustle thing. Like do you like that? I don't know. Like my buddy

started like a wine and natural wine business. He's a lawyer. But he imports wine over and opened up his own store and he has this whole thing. And it's like it's really fulfilled that a part of his

life that he didn't really have. And I think that's really cool. But you don't even, you're not even

old enough like know what that is yet. Just know what career you want. Yeah, you don't have a career yet. Or a family. So like there's just, I don't know. I feel like there's a lot to figure out. Yeah, I mean, if the title is female, we're got you act and people won't stop banging me. What do I do? The tone would be different. Yeah. Right. So we're all small, smiling. Yeah. I understand this guy. Okay, because this is exactly what I've done. Right. This is,

This is my entire free professional career and still going.

peak loser mode, where I was like, if I just had something that meant something and I felt like

I was building something. It wasn't just a job. It was a career. I could just feel a little bit of

success. And so the first opportunity I would get it, and then I'd meet it. I'd be like, okay,

well, now I'm fucking broken. This might be like a complete waste of time. And then from bartending to ESPN in four years when I'm telling everybody I was going to do these things, even though I didn't really want to be in the media as much as I wanted to work on the other side, which we've already covered. And then that happens. But then I'm looking around the ESPN and be like, you're the most worthless person here. So now I need the other thing. And then it's like, okay, well, now I get it

with Scott. I'm like, oh my god, I'm the afternoon host. And I've only been here three years, but it's like actually when I could put your name on the show. And we think you're a sidekick and we think you suck. Scott seems to like you. And so then I was like, okay, well, now I just need my name on the show. That took four fucking years. And then it still felt like sidekick mode. So then I go, all right, well, I have to break up with Scott. Scott was getting the full TV thing anyway. So it was like a

completely amicable like you're doing this for your career, because they're taking you back and

featuring you on sports center, which is way more important than any radio show. I need to figure

out what my next move is. And then it actually just worked out. It was like, we should just stay now and see what you can do. And so now things are good. I'm successful. I feel like I'm not a sidekick. But then I'm looking around being like, I wonder if I'm ever going to get like a mic and mic deal. I wonder if I'll ever get a Collin deal. I wonder if I'll ever get like these deals that these other guy, well, I ever be one of those guys. And then I leave ESPN proved to them that a lot of people there

that aren't there anymore wrong. And I end up getting one of those deals, which took forever for me.

And then I just keep moving the goal post every fucking time where it's basically about like,

well, hey, I sold a couple of shows. But now that doesn't prove anything unless you get a show made. And then if the show gets made, it's like, yeah, but it has to be good and it has to be good and it has to amy. I want to be up there thinking echo Matthew. So the point is it's like, it will either drive you crazy, or you're so fearful that if you attack it any other way, that then you'll become complacent. And that to me is like, at least in my professional life,

that is the epitome of like what I, I'm afraid if I'm not like that, then that lapping will happen. That'll be like, oh, I remember when that guy had a show. So the thing that makes me good can also drive me what I would tell you at 20 is fucking relax. Okay. That's the first thing. There's also some stuff that you're seeing in there that maybe makes you a little predisposed to being depressed about things where it's that high.

But then you're cycling through it and you're going, all right, well, now I'm going to steer myself back in the kind of this mental funk. And that might just be a youth thing. You might be really smart. You might be more mature than your peers and you're looking at things like through a bigger lens instead of just being like, hey, I'm in the peak moments of like the most freedom I'm ever going to have because it really is that great stretch of your life. And I know like this is a

deeper thing. But I've talked about it a little bit with life. It's like, I think when you're younger,

you kind of think that there's this moment of like, once I get past this threshold, then everything's just going to be fucking easy sailing. And I'm going to be happy. I'll have my career. Money won't be as much of an issue. I'll be with somebody I really care about. I hope I have this great relationship. I'm raising kids on that kind of stuff. And I think really what happens is is you realize like either these moments along the way, but it doesn't, you're not just been coasting on this wave of

fucking happiness to rest here life. And the other thing I would tell young people like, I know you're living in the moment of right now and what is challenging. But man, you get older and you start having like older person fucking problems where you're worried about a parent or you're losing a parent or you're sitting there trying to tell them you're going to take a fucking license away or there's an issue with a sibling, like you will the majority of you. And I'm not like we're not talking

exceptions here. But I'd say 90% of you in your early 20s, but like think these are end of days scenarios for you. You would trade all of your problems when you're in your 40s and 50s for all the

problems that you thought you had in your 20s. But again, it's the first time you're experiencing

this shit because it's kind of rural or stuff. So it's going to be hard. You might not listen to me. Okay, you might not listen to me at all because I probably wouldn't listen to me if I were 20. But you could you could try to like not think about things in these, this grand way where every turn is some, oh my god, well, well, this mean or what'll happen here or how come I'm not all this stuff. Just relax and enjoy this moment. Because if you don't enjoy it now, you're going to be like

Jesus, did I waste a bunch of time of being bummed out about a bunch of shit that really didn't matter at that time? All right, that'll do for the show we went along. Thanks to Kevin, thanks to Tom, thanks to Surity, thanks to Hot Kyle, all of our shows available on Netflix, Rhiner Solar Show,
