I'm live in San Antonio, and we are getting ready for the NBA Finals. I will give you a pick at the top of the show after just copious notes breaking down the regular

season matchups. What stuff I think is relevant or not?

And I'm going to do even more of that with our good friend Tim Legler.

First time, we've had him all season, Gary Payton, the Hall of Famer.

Right in the cross-airs with me, and then we're going to talk with Monty McCutchen about officiating everybody's favorite topic that and we've got life advice. And then give you a pick for the NBA final stuff that I think is important.

And what actually means anything? When, New York, in the regular season against next play, 34 minutes, 24 minutes, and in 25 minutes off the bench, in that cup final, and in the regular season, when, New York was at 29 minutes a game. In the playoffs, he was 28 minutes a game against Portland, 29 minutes a game against Minnesota, and then they just dropped off the full when, been yama against OKC, because they needed it, averaging 38 minutes per game. So if you look at

the numbers against the nix at 29, and you're just penciling them in for 10 more minutes, that is a major, major factor in trying to figure out how these two teams match up against each other. If the nix were younger, then I would say, hey, going two and one against San Antonio, going up against this team and the finals, at least there's something there for them to feel good about. I think it'd be a bigger factor for a younger team, but certainly the nix have

been around enough with this group, they're all terrific players. You know, I don't think this

is a group that's necessarily doubting itself, is it's getting ready to try to win a championship

year? But like I said, you're adding in basically another 25% to the minutes, that's a significant

number and you'd expect a production of match it, because if you look at the first two rounds for both the spurs, the women yama on the floor, and the nix with bruncin on the floor, they're both at like a plus 22, the numbers dip for San Antonio, they basically got even better for the nix for one simple reason. The spurs played okc, the nix played Cleveland. Bruncin in these games against the spurs. Primarily, they're going to want to put Darren Fox on him.

Look for when champenny is on bruncin for bruncin to attack far more aggressively. It's something that you notice in these matchups, whether that's champenny is the initial defender, or if he's switching into them. The other part of this is that Carter Bryant barely played in these regular season games, a total of 11 minutes in two games with a dnp and a third. This is totally different now with this guy. If they want to throw him out there for 20 minutes and just try to

clog up whatever the first bruncin thing is going to be. You obviously have castle, but castle

Plays cat, which means women yama plays heart, and then whatever you have goi...

rest of the wings, I don't know if they want to go with castle against bruncin to maybe try to

disrupt. I imagine we're going to see all sorts of this stuff, especially if we're lucky enough

to get a long season, or a series out of this NBA finals. In the regular season matchups for bruncin, the points per possession numbers are shockingly inefficient. I didn't expect that because the overall shooting and scoring is really good. He's taken 20 shots against San Antonio. He's taking a lot of threes and the shooting splits are incredible. 43% overall, 47% from three. That's a nine and a half attempts per game. Only six free throw attempts. He drew a total of 14 fouls in those three games,

which you certainly can live with going up against bruncin. But again, sometimes it isn't

always about the foul calls. It's about whether or not you want to even get close to him with all

of his footwork and how good he is with all that stuff. So I imagine probably three, I'll take the over on three and a half super frustrated stuff on Castle moments with stuff that he's going to get called for against bruncin. But like I said, they have this Carter Bryant element that was not even close to being a factor in the other three regular season games. Let's talk a little bit about cat. Cat has this incredible run here, at least with some of the metrics. He's leading all

of the NBA and Boxcore plus minus. He's leading all of the NBA and when shares a 48 and that number is like a monster number for what he's done in these playoffs. But his usage is the lowest it's ever been in the playoffs. So if you look at him going from last year to this year with the next shot attempts were down, minutes were down, three attempts were down. The postseason last year, 16 shots this year. He's at 9.9. He is taking less than 10 shots per game in the playoffs

of the next so far. And like I said, the usage of the lowest he's ever had. But he is so important

to this team because he's been like involved more, but he's not shooting more. I actually think he could shoot more. And it's going to be something we should all look for is that San Antonio, especially in that March game when they ran high ball screens for bruncin, either this is going to make it easy for bruncin coming off that screen is if defender is held up or it might make it easier for cat if cat's a screener. But it looks like they wanted to keep Wembin Yamma back and it

looks like they wanted to keep Kornet back. And reminding me a bit of some of that stuff that I was talking about with Boston and that Philadelphia series where it looked like they became a little predictable. So maybe they won't be as predictable, but it's going to be something where even of bruncin wants to get rid of the ball. But if the guy is staying low, who's defending cat, and they just want to stay back to defend against bruncin, that might be a little bit more

more opportunities for cat than we've seen thus far. The rebounding numbers have told the story in the regular season, and they're just massive. If you look at game one, the nicks were plus 17 on the boards, they came back in the fourth quarter, strictly with offensive rebounds, game two, which was the 260 plus game, they were minus eight, the nicks were plus 13 in the March blowout. So look, storylines, if we do the dumb exercise of what is possible, could bruncin,

if he pulls the soft, he considered the fourth best player in the NBA? Somebody will probably say something dumber than that, put him ahead of yokeage. But that's at least what's on the table. For him, I didn't even think with Wemin Yamuma with a loss. If you were to have a bad series, which seems basically impossible, but if you had a bad series with people go, I don't know about

this guy. After what he did against OKC, spurs in six. It's never too late to improve your credit.

He is the voice of the NBA finals for ABC and ESPN. He's a guy that we've had hang out with us a bunch of times over the years. It's awesome. You've seen here in San Antonio with Tim Legler. Good to see you. It's a man. This is the happiest microphone I've ever held in my life.

But I noticed it was it's my first time holding it right now too. So you can see it though. Yeah, we're going to shock the old biceps to it today. All right, let's start with this. What's the number one thing you're looking for in the matchup? You know, five minutes into the game. You're seeing

how someone's defending something else. I think the biggest thing for me is it, I look at the

nicks and the run they're on, and two critical ways that they've dominated, pointing to paint and

transition. That's going to be limited to a greater extent in this series without question, because San Antonio recovers better off turnovers than anybody. They will cough it up. They

Cover incredibly well, but then just the paint points.

I think a big part of this is I think three point volume is going to be up for them. Can they continue to shoot like these percentages? You know, math kind of tells you no, not 40

percent like they're shooting now. But can they still be in the upper 30s with more attempts?

That might be enough to offset not getting as many paint points. And so I'm going to be looking

at that in the first quarter. Like how does their offense look different against this

particular defense than what they've seen the last three rounds? All right. So there's a bunch I want to get to. I want to start with like primary defender on Brunson, because I think you're going to be great on this. I went back and looked at all the regular season possessions and everything, and it looks like in this matchup. And there's an argument to be just saying, hey, throw them all away with the development of some of the other guys in San Antonio. But it's like, hey, it looks like they

want to start with Fox on Brunson. Do you think there's something to be like, hey, Brunson's going to be in so many screens that Fox just has to survive the first part. And then we figure out the second part as opposed to just saying, hey, look, let's sit Castle on Brunson to try to just get after him. Let's sit Carter Bryant on him. Because again, in the regular season matchups, it's Wemby on hard. It's Fox on Brunson, and then it's Castle on Cat. Yeah, I think it's going to be

more Castle on Brunson from the get go. That's what I'm expecting to see. And I think a lot of

it has to do with kind of what we just watched in the okay C series, different type of player, Shay and Jalen. But I think the last thing they want to see is Jalen Brunson come out and have

eight points in the first four minutes of the game. And like said his night up that now we go to Castle

and you know, Harper when he checks in is a physical big defender of his cell. Fox is different. He's like more like quickness and like cutting you off. But like the strength that you need because of Brunson's footwork balance the way he gets you to back up with his shoulder like all that. That to me lends itself more to Castle and trying to set the tone for Brunson's night immediately. So that's what I'm expecting. I know Fox got him a lot in the regular season, but I feel like

as the season is going on, it's been more Castle with these type of matchups. And you know, he is prone to foul trouble a little bit. So maybe they wait until they put him on him and burn up those first eight minutes with somebody else. But I'm kind of feeling Castle's going to be the primary guy. And Brian only played 11 minutes and two of the games combined. There was a

DNP in the third one, I think, or one of the three. I want to stay on this though. Like the

philosophy of do we put the best guy on him to make him work to bring the ball up. Not granted, they could have bridges bring it up if they think it's too much. But is it sometimes wasting your best perimeter defender by assigning him to Brunson knowing that whatever screen game they're going to be coming up with that you may lose your primary defender on Brunson once he's caught up in the screen anyway. Very true. Very good point. I think the problem with that is you can't

always predict who's setting the screen and when you end up getting the guy you want on him because

the jail and smart about that, he's going to be able to kind of hand pick who he wants to play against a little bit more. Not that they've got a bunch of weak links in their perimeter defense because they're all pretty solid, but still he can choose then. And if you put like the guy you really want on him most of the possession off of him, think he's going to end up on him in that possession. You might not ever get that. And that ultimately is what you want. And this is a different

type of thing. I think what happened to Shay in that series, I do think he warned down in each game. He was incredible in game seven in incredible number of difficult shots. I thought he wore down each game for this reason. The quick hitters he's used to coming up the court getting a brush screen immediately getting into his elbow spot for a jumper or immediate ISO and go. He gets that off all the time against everybody else and in the regular season. They weren't giving that

up. Like they were cutting him off and he wouldn't get that. Six seven seconds of that. Now we give it up. Now we get it back with six seconds on the clock. Go again and go create offense. That wears you down over the course of the game. I don't think Jalen Branson is as susceptible to being worn down because he's a grounded game. It's footwork. It's balance. It's strength. He's not elevating as much on his jump shot. I don't think it's going to be as effective.

He's given a ball up earlier possessions that he used to. That's going to be fascinating for me to see how how they wear on him as opposed to the way they wore on Shae over the course of that series because I do think that was a factor. One of the big differences I think you'll see in you know this is one of the things that I have a problem with the regular season is like when you're so relying on that one guy and that happens to okay see this year despite having more

wins than anybody else. You can't like knock it but Jalen Williams the number two is not a big part of what the regular season is and then he's almost invisible because of the injuries or I should say not a factor in the playoffs because of the injuries then you can see like okay chat doesn't want to play yeah that's a different topic. No question you know you've got McCain who's not afraid to shoot no matter what but there's a lot of like watching Shae going

fix this man, fix this for us and then behind whoever's primary defender is it's the most dominant defense force we maybe have ever seen. I think the nicks move more. I think they move more off the ball even if they can be. So talk more about that there's no question about that and that's

Kind of where the transformation in their offense has come and everybody's po...

of the Atlanta series as the late ball moment for Mike Brown and the team and like okay we're having a problem here down to one how do I unlock the offense more and that's when cat went more to the top of the key utilized as a passer more but it really actually tweaked it earlier in the season two they started to get more give it up early let's get a little bit more movement jailing can get it back later in a good position to attack much more efficient much better for him

keep him fresher that's going to be different than what okay see does which is basically

really count on breaking you down off the initial action hope that they can get you into rotation and chasing the ball and they make enough threes on a given night to supplement without jailing Williams without AJ Mitchell like maybe we can make enough threes but it's really all built throughout Shay next are different now in the way that they're running their offense now I will say this some of those off-ball cuts that bridges has been getting and a noby some of these even Josh

they're going to be harder to come by against this team because of the Wambi factor right and he hang you may get the cut that's what I'm saying cool he might be at the three point line with his right foot and block it on the other side of the rim on that same cut that they were getting away up against Atlanta so it's different but it's still regardless it's still forces more

communication with off-ball cutting and movement that's how you beat an elite defense you have to force

them to communicate off-ball screening off-ball cutting that's how you do it you cannot come down one side of the floor and attack with one action and think you're going to collapse them and get him to chase it's just not going to work against the defenses good with that kind of imperfection one of the things I was looking at to just some of the high ball screen stuff with cat right and then well how San Antonio and it didn't matter if it was one manjama it didn't matter

you know great I know castles the the first assignment they're on cat but a lot of this stuff gets kind of scrambled and now you're just like him on this guy or whatever they seemed like they were ignoring it ignoring cat and some of the screens and you know when I look at cats usage like the

metrics are off the charts for this playouts yeah it is usage has never been lower he's down

the just 9.9 shots per game in the playoffs and you could say all eyes playing 30 minutes and they blew a bunch of these teams out but you know maybe not even being the biggest cat guy which I've admitted a bunch of times like I'm now at the point was like there's not five more shots for

this guy in this offense and I think they've gotten away with it because they've been so much better

than these teams the last couple rounds but I feel like he's going to have to well he's going to have to take advantage of the some of the stuff because if they're not totally big up against Jalen that's like free lunch I agree with you and he's the next of accomplished something that I don't think has ever been accomplished before with with a player this is a 20 plus point score for his career you have reduced his shots reduced his points and he's never felt

more important dedication isn't born in the light of day it's carved in the quiet hours before the world blinks away and for his hand we rise with a mission to deliver craftsmanship worthy of your table a slice of something special folded into every moment worth savoring because dedication means delivering only the very best horse head committed to craft since 1905 think about this is the longest I've ever heard a national media go without complaining about him

he so we just talked to him about it and he feels great about himself he feels empowered because he likes playing with a little bit more inclusion so that's the thing his touches are up like 20 a game right since they changed the offense even though his shots are down so that tells you like how they're utilizing and so some guys would be like how with that like man you can take me down from whatever right then he was like 17 I was looking at it today I'm like

this is a dream like most guys are going I'm you know they flat out they would win a championship ago I want to try not a flat out and so you're like I was like this is a fascinating dynamic and yet he because he there's a part of his game that he felt like was underutilized and he felt like there is more to me here in this regard it's incredible what they've done psychologically with

cat to make him buy into this concept and he has never been I think even more appreciated from a

national media perspective right even though he's averaging less points shooting the ball less it's one thing given credit for no matter what the guy rebounds I give the guy a lot of credit because every night man no matter if he takes eight shots or he takes 18 he gets 12 13 14 boards

it's critical rebound numbers are like the same. Exactly right and I pat the guy in a background

because that's all about like where you are you mentally we know how he bigs stop rebounding when they don't touch the ball that's been since the beginning of time so his rebounding numbers never changed but he thought it was more to me here to unlock and can I feel more included and important offensive rather than the narrative all year every time we did a next game we talked about it before the game and the question one question amongst the three of us was always

good to be about what's going on with cat like in his offense and so that doesn't come up anymore

Because okay well this is what's going on with cat and this is how they're ut...

their offenses unlocked historically good for the last 11 games so they've pulled it off man and it's almost impossible to do that with a 20 point score to give him less touches less our sorry less shots less points but more touches and he feels good about himself what have you learned about

women yama that may be even surprised you during this run. I honestly had heard him speak over

the years since he came into league and he always said the right things about like accepting

responsibility of who he was and potentially represented watching how much this means to him that to me has been like wow like you're talking about now that final piece the difference each differential you in a way then now you are on staying healthy you are on that path to become maybe one of the greatest players we've ever seen because if you don't have that component you're not getting there and like that's the part that for me has been revealed to all of us right here

during this stretch second half of the season through the playoffs how badly this guy wants to win and like how tough he is internally to take on personal challenges take on team challenges and like doesn't blink at all that's very impressive for a guy his age. Are you surprised how much you like him the scene in his career. Oh no not really because on the first all tape one

on my thought this is interesting never seen anything like this like exactly like this why is

that guy dribbling the ball up the floor like you're watching tape from and you don't know first

thought they show him like doing like these moves like he's whether it was in a game against competition when he was in France or even just working out on his own and you watch the film and I was saying to myself and not to do that the league you know because you're like that's too high like to rant amazing the only guy that's that big yeah that is that tight with the handle pull up and stuff and even for him you're talking about like another six inches of height like so I'm like

there's no you're not doing that and driving and I saw him in Vegas and it was like he tried that a couple of times and immediately got ripped but like the help guy because it's too high and oh they're going the other way I'm thinking like yeah it's gonna be a problem you know what he's got much more selective about when he does it and he does it against guys he can do it against and it's like a big part of his game the shooting ability so I knew I knew all the talent was

there he's fascinated me from the beginning with this length and now playing this style of basketball so not surprised at how much I like him I'm just kind of surprised that the the functional strength and the mental toughness has gotten to this point this early yeah that's the part is that this is I mean we've all talked about it nationally like a head of schedule head of schedule and and I've just read some things about like oh well the media's in love with this guy right now it's

like he hasn't been around long enough for anybody to get mad at him right no that's very true normally you would have lost a couple of times already yeah and then it's year five and it's okay I thought

this guy was awesome you know like the student but here's what's amazing about the guy so we just sat

down for the very first time got his hands in a room today and like I you know because I've seen him covered him but I haven't had chance to talk to the guy he sat down talking my asked my question thought it was a really good question and he just turned and he looked at the floor and he thought for 15 seconds and I thought like god that I asked a bad question and then he just gave me this incredibly introspective and safeful answer so he literally was thinking about how to give

me the best answer that he could it's a rare quality man and my next question should have been I want to be what are you reading right now I'm really curious like because you look he definitely is a guy that's reading you know I mean he might have his headphones on a little bit on the charter but at some point he's breaking the books out I just I want to know because he's just so mature and has approached to everything including the way he gives answers I know lately he's been

seem like as he's irritated with the media or whatever didn't come off that way and our interview with him alone and like his answers were incredible like you realize how much is going on in here man he's got the whole package when things are have been frustrating at least that wasn't accomplished finals right like we tracked the first half shot attempts and you could see like a very different story being told than the wins and the losses but it's funny because he even

game seven in that fourth quarter he took one shot the three he did get to the line a couple times so sometimes I can even forget that and feelable attempts but all offer this up to you I still

think there's more I think there's so first there's way more that they could do with his

offensively I think in game seven I got like hey I want a couple bad lops I want a couple lops that have no chance just show me you're still thinking about it because is great is this supporting cast has been and again another group that's ahead of schedule I'd suggest and I brought this up before and I haven't talked you about it is that I think the young guards kind of wait to see what the first Wemby thing could be and then if he's setting a screen way out and then they

just turn the corner they never think about him again or at least they don't think about him enough that he can get back into the play offensively and I wonder if that'll be a problem in the final that's a great point I got another one that I've noticed with them sometimes like when he when he screens if he's 23 feet and then inside a three-point line both feet screens slip their efficiency and points per possession on those type of screens significantly higher than when he sets

Screen to 28 feet because when he peels out of there he's going to do more ch...

chiped a couple times by guys and he has to kind of make his way through traffic the threat to the rim immediately with one stride isn't there at that distance 23 feet it is so I'm looking for that to can the next force him out just to shear straight can and it'll be getting to his body because hard and starting did do that really well and when he did that it was effective and it's amazing the numbers dramatically change you know they did their spurs guards have to do a better job

so I think sometimes give him more time when he gets a switch onto a smaller guy it's not going to

be a dead post up it's like in that 12 foot area but he's he's wrestling with guys that are fronting him give him a second to establish leverage and then that that arm comes up there's your target sometimes they watch him wrestle for a half second and the ball gets reversed and then by the time he's ready the balls on the other side of the floor and I think they can do a better job but that would look they're all young players they'll get there but I grew through there's a lot

more that's untapped what would you do if you were like sitting there and maybe it wouldn't be

your assignment with castle but what do you say in the preparation of like here's what you're

going to have to deal with once this guy gets downhill because his downhill stuff takes him to a completely different level even if we could say like it's a little erratic it's still too productive to ever be critical of it but his his attack his initiation with the contact and then his stop but then still in control and then I may throw three different like release angles at you I can't believe he has that shit already but I can't either it's it's you talk about being surprised

about let me I'll say I'm more surprised about castles overall offensive growth since he came from to run to this yes it's just I mean not to mention now he's making threes at a respectable clip you have to think about it you're like at least have to know he's going to do it or him was like we'll let you go oh yes a number on like wide open dribble up threes that they were like all right we're good with this and then since that series it was like you know when you see

that you're like oh there must be some number that tells them to do this and now that's not really

what you can do with them and that's why I think in this series we'll see how it plays out

Mitch Robinson's finger I think he's really important in this series man for the reason you just

gave and it's not just Castle Harper II I mean Harper is the most powerful 19 year old

guardist league's ever seen coming into the league after one and done he plays right through contact shoulders four arms wrists he's blasting right through anything at the rim and finishing you're going to need a lead level paint protection and rim protection and like a real deterrent back there so we'll see what Mitch Robinson has looking like in this series and how that plays out his finger and the fouling him and all that I just think you're going to need it against the team

that puts in all that all that assault on the rim with the two guys I mentioned plus fox who's in there all the time too more like a quickness thing and a pull up jumper but Harper and Castle the way that they get downhill turn the corner and their intent is to get to the rim kind of slow it down let everything happen front of them and finish your contact it's a major challenge because it puts your backline and foul trouble slows the game down they're beating

up from the inside out major problem for any team to play this first quick as we just finish up here you were around both teams you know just give me like a general sense of anything that stood out like the vibe of both teams I just think for the mix it's clearly absolutely chomping at the bit to play basketball again that this has been tough to sit there this long man when you got this biggest stage it's one thing to do it for the conference finals that

that was hard enough waiting on the after he swept filly this is different as the NBA finals all these guys who drift about this and now you got to wait all this time so that was the sense I got for them they just can't wait to get out there and kind of see what this is going

to be against this team I think for the spurs it's like I've been so impressed with how they

have not gone overboard with I know in the moment you saw when we crying all that but it was that moment was vanquished and it was like let's move immediately into business mode for this matchup very mature beyond their years best thing about this series we're getting the I think the peak version of both teams on both ends right and that's going to lend itself I think too an amazing finals and great finishes hopefully as a best abroad cast team that's all I want

I'm pumped you're part of the team and you too man you got it you're group chat tries but it could never keep up with Reddit during any sport season between rivalry games rankings drama

Reddit is where the real fans hang out down low the Reddit app and dive into hot takes fresh memes in the group chat that never sleeps down low the Reddit app today we are in San Antonio getting ready for the finals and the Hall of Famer Gary Peyton is sitting with me here um you are probably going to forget this but

we've met one time before do you remember when you were in Boston and our plane almost went down

on the way to a nuts game and I was playing for Boston you were and I was playing I thought he's gonna die I thought he's gonna die and that's snow and all that all well it wasn't what wasn't it was a plane it was late in the season so it wasn't whether it was a plane took off some plane wasn't that's right yeah we were the top or we almost alive they had to kill the engine on a drive to drop down yes and so we're all in the plane and then Ricky Davis was losing his shit and then you were in the

back screaming stop plan Heinstein for whatever reason was like fine Doc was fine and so the reason why the story is it's the only time I ever called the Celtics game I was filling in and then I'm on the plane being like I'm gonna be almost died on the only time you was on the Philadelphia and huh and we all would have been messed up right so I'm like there's no way I'm this unlucky I'm gonna call one and be a game ever and then die and so then when we landed the pilot came out

and started high five in us telling us how bad it was because a plane like we were gonna hit this

plane and they weren't talking to the tower so the towers like you have to kill your engine or something

so anyway that was our that was how I do remember I thought it was some weather but it was that and we killed it and it dropped it and and and and and uh and Ricky went crazy y'all most he almost used the bathroom on a cell yeah he was crazy because the reason why it was a really random like me that game it was hot yeah right and then docked up thrown out 30 seconds into the game and then watched the masters yeah that's what he wanted to do he didn't want to coach anyway

look man it's been a bunch of years since you played in the finals what was it like for you thinking back to that time gearing up going all right this is a shot at a championship

well me I always thought about it dinosaur season stuff like they they do you know and then

just normal stuff you know same thing that's happening let's just go out here and just play our our game and win basketball games it wasn't as big like that because I know getting jitters wouldn't happen when doing anything because soon as I get on the floor it's just like riding a bike I'm gonna start getting used to it again and I'm just gonna play we just got to figure out how we're

gonna stop that next team and how we're gonna win four basketball games and that's how I was doing it

when we wanted to know six with my amy that's what I was telling them you know we got down two old and then I told him relax I mean you guys had a relaxed man they did what they supposed to do they held their held home at a home court and they won two that's what they supposed to do that's why that's why they was playing for it and then I said we're going back home for three now we're let's just take three away from them and that's what we did and then we flew around and took one

took the the final one and Dallas and it was just a calm nerve you just gotta have calm nerve. Do you notice like what I love about the playoffs is like game one hey we're gonna do this hey we're gonna give them this this is something we're gonna prioritize and then you can see like by game three or four it's like we may throw out a ton of this stuff because here's something that I know they definitely don't want to do or this guy is absolutely uncomfortable when you're

in these series. It's just like a prize fight what should what do you do when you get in the prize fight what do two boxes do they fill each other out because they want to see what's happening

the first game is really a fill out but you want to win it you can't lose it at home.

San Antonio has to win this game. You know what I'm saying or it's going to give Nick's all the Nick's all the confidence to go beat him and it's going to be hard to beat him in the garden with all them people up there so you're doing all the momentum going with that guy they don't want to like let him 12 games in the row. San Antonio got to break their heart just like they did with Oklahoma when Oklahoma won every game. He was there was undefeated swept both series

and then they came in and broke their heart and doubled over time. They got to do the same thing with the Nick's to make the Nick's understanding that we're for real but I think they have the

Ability to do that and I just think as it get more and more in the series the...

what they want to adjust to but me I want to adjust to the next scene I make the team adjusted me. You know you got to adjust to me I want to make them coaches make adjustments to me they're going to come out and try to stop Winby. What you got to say you got castle you got Fox you got a lot of God what do you think is Castle by the way good good it's a good it's a good it's a good but young I can see you kind of loving him I love him I would have played with him he would have been

great for me on my team because he plays with that talent mentality that go at you you don't care and you don't get it doesn't he's got a point guard dog he got a point guard let's you know they might not have many of those in the definition that we grew up in but if you put him in any other situation I love he he's a dog he'll go at you I'm gonna put him as a wolf because wolf's eat dogs so he loves him so I'm gonna put him at dad and and he's a good young kid that has really good but they

got a lot of good was on that basketball team and they're young and they all good I think the glue

is as Fox though he keeps him on a control even when Barnes came in and him times and he was giving him great minutes and hidden big shots the old veterans know how to keep the young ones right there and then when you have a superstar they're so young and you get him to do what he got to do and I keep everybody else doing what they have to do the Harper kid is playing well just to have them play day roles and I think they'll win the series most people are trying to day trade

risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors would you try to talk shit to Wemby?

yeah I would try to get him uncomfortable I'm gonna talk shit to anybody I knew there was a yes there I'm gonna talk shit to anybody I'm gonna get him out of his comfort zone and see what happens but he's so humble and he's so keeps his smile on his face it'll be proud of hard here reminds me of the guy I I um I idolized and John Stockton John Stockton was the same way you could say things to him but he'll just keep on moving

he wouldn't even change expression he'll be happy a clap he'll do whatever and Wemby is the same way who else was hard to break that you played against not too many not too many not too many who's the easiest all of them everybody everybody I'm just trying to say everybody I didn't care

about nobody everybody would always want to be going at me but you couldn't go at me because

you got to understand I got the ball all the time I'm doing the things that I do and I thrive off of all that talking and all that shit chatting and all that doesn't elevate my game up here so I didn't really wouldn't fear nobody but John Stockton it was only one guy that I really really fear and that's because he didn't really talk to me he didn't really live up with Stockton where you're like eventually I was trying to give up and then all of a sudden

I overcame him in 96 when we beat him in the and the Western Conference finals and then I said you know what I got to do I got to change my ways which I didn't want to do I changed my ways I stopped talking to him I started playing the game the way he plays it you know he was taking charges on me I started taking charges back on him and he started he didn't understand what I was doing and it was different he understood me man a hard nose don't want to take charges

always want to be bully bully and next you know I started playing the way he did and it worked

no shit that's really interesting you said something about you know point guards and this is

something like legs was just here and I was like as much as I love this first team I think that

their guards because they're younger and it's almost like hard to find any point guard the way that you and I would define a point guard is that I think sometimes they give up on him in the possession where once they don't think he's the option anymore then they just kind of go that part of the game is it's like becoming extinct it is you know one of my favorite things about you is that you as this traditional point guard you would come down and if it was like your star

felt like maybe three or four possessions he didn't get a touch whatever the play was it didn't matter you would know hey my guy needs a touch right now because the the vibe of this game where he's that I think that's almost gone that understanding that you guys that that's all gone because you got to understand point guards are now two guards if you look if you can't score they don't even want

If you if you if you if you look in the NBA right now look at all the point g...

did they play in college if they went to college they played it too they played it too so you

converted them into one so that's not that they they're what they posted do so with me it's Sean didn't come down the floor for three and four trips and didn't touch the ball that was the same for me that was that was a punishment that I would have to take our depth of didn't touch the basketball because they're going to course start quitting on you if they keep coming down and

before they're not going to play hard for you on the other end and do the things so I think they

should be rewarded of what they did if Sean blocked the shot and got a steal and we start running and I got a wide open lab that ain't my lab that's Sean's that's Sean's basketball and I would throw the ball up to him all the passive back to him to get a dump that was the way we thought we were we were taught you know we had the Kevin Johnson's to Tim Hardaway's to Rod Strictlands we had them to John Stockton see that was our era the mookie play locks you know what I'm saying

damn type of guys were point guards right you know what I'm saying so we needed to have that and do that and that's just this way it was and we were point guards in college so we knew who to get the ball to and when they needed to get it do you look at Brunson and think of how you would defend him when you watch the game or you just watch I watch because the game has changed this is a different era remember we get the handshake we get the beat up guys with Brunson

him and the and the shale exanders they get to a spot you got to understand it and why didn't they get to the spot what did they do they go they showed her and they push off they get you off balance you know what I'm saying so nowadays what I do is that I just say you know what we would have did was we'd have beat him up more and then you went out with a deal was I would have took you in on that other end of the floor and made him made him but have to go on to and make

him do something else because that's the only way you're going to defend a player like that

do you like when the era is a compared because I see you stay out of it on good because it's going to give me upset because what you're saying is is y'all you're trying to tell me my era get my era wasn't better than yours and you don't understand I was 21 years old too I was 19 years old now it's athletic as you too so it doesn't matter you can't go on a time machine and you didn't play against me when I was 21 because I know if at 21 I would have bought your head

open I would have did whatever I had to do to do it that's why they called me a whole of favor and all that now because I didn't I didn't go out there just because of nothing so these guys going to say their era was better they talk about their athletic they play them they fly or whatever that doesn't make anything when we're smart when we're smart and we know how to play the game and when we put you in picking roles and we put you in file trouble and do that do you ever think

about that so I don't I stay out of it because I don't want to get in two with these young kids because they're kids and they want to talk about it I talk to my son about it he said the same thing I said son you know you was around we use a ball boy when you was doing out of out of bus show head open just like a bus anybody else had all right last thing rapid fire we'll stay in your era we're going to die for guy this is a scheme for David Robinson a king Carl Malone Barkley

Carl Malone we're gonna say goodbye and just end this now I'm just kidding just my guy Chris Malone or Tom Goodyada Chris Malone all right that's a good answer we'll give you a

give it to yourself Charles wasn't better than Carl Malone never I they they were good

but you got to understand what Carl Malone did on the block and how good he was and you know how I did I just think of Chuck had a guy who had 15,000 assists passing him was the first option every time down for like 17 years it probably would have been but that wasn't didn't happen didn't happen so he made him better than what he was you know he won the MVP two years he did things he was very strong dominated I'm not going to say my boy Charles is my guy

but Charles was great too he was just it was a great basketball player that never wanted

championship but he was on a right team at one time in Phoenix you remember Phoenix he was watching

some of the clips this morning you're the man I'm glad we survived that flight enjoy saying it's on you yeah thank you I'm glad we did because we wouldn't be talking to each other right now hey it's Hannah Montoya Abercrombie's new summer drop is our latest obsession there's tons of colorful swim flowy dresses and they just released new linen blend matching sets everything feels so light and breathable it's perfect for brunch or rooftop happy hours just like your on vacation

shop Abercrombie in the app online and in stores maybe the most important man in

officiating joins us my name a coach a long time NBA official now with the office of overseeing a lot of stuff we've had a few conversations in the past I always appreciate your time because I think your job is a thankless one and you already know that so I don't

Need to tell you anything like that I always appreciate your fairness so it's...

fair with me what what is what's the difference between everyone's complaining about something

that's irrelevant versus everybody may have a good point well I think part of my job is to be

able to you know figure that out and delineate between what is outside noise and what is important for me to pay attention to well certainly we're hearing a lot about flopping for example over the last month of of this but for us there's I think the the general public uses the word flop to encompass a lot of theatrics right for us a flop is a very defined thing it's secondary theatrical exaggerated movements and so just merely falling down although the public may call that

a flop we've defined that as an embellishment and the competition committee is the the group of people that let us down that pathway referees don't make these decisions in a room we get feedback

and alignment from our competition committee and there's a there's a real distinction between

embellishment and floppy now does that mean that we'll relook at it possibly the competition committee looks at things all summer long every summer in between seasons and we may tighten up that we may not that's up to the competition committee but I don't think that we should run from public criticism because it can be informative about where the game is and my job and the competition committee's job in James Jones's job is to figure out what's true and what's not yeah I like how that said

but I want to dig an even deeper though like when you're going over something like give me a scenario maybe from the pastor something that can share with us of hey this is something we need to all look at and how that plays out in the timeline of like the competition committee decided to make

any kind of change well I think one of the things that we would look at let's talk about offensive

pushoffs all right so ball handler initiative initiative contact with the off-arm right and so the the NBA is a very organic living organism right we institute the competition give is a you know points of emphasis or points of education every year and that's an emphasis for the referee to get these things of course we want to get everything right but specifically the competition committee thinks there's an area here but all year long we'll get feedback

from our stakeholders and as players live up against the de-markation line players jobs coaches job

is to find very minute amounts of advantages right and that's always going to be done along

the de-markation line of the rules can I push can I push referees then live in that space in which they're always just a little behind the innovations of players and teams our stakeholders give us feedback then that hey we think the referees aren't as close to being on top of this as they should we get consensus amongst the competition committee we'll look at all these different pushoffs because let's take for granted that some form of separation has been part of NBA basketball

for the offensive player for the last 75 years in the post there's a little bump before going up for the jump hook there's a little bit of a pushoff for separation transitions in the course so that's always part of some basketball but where's the de-markation line between legal and illegal we don't want to gain that is so void of contact that it's not aggressive and exciting to be a part up neither do we want it to be so rough that the talent of the players can't be

seen so a play like the often to push off pushoffs if it starts to creep to where the de-markation line feels like it's being changed without input from the competition committee then that's an area that maybe we want to go in and look at that's one example of the type of play for example non basketball moves a few years ago where everyone was going out of their way to create contact we want to make sure that there's a balance between offensive and defensive ability to compete

some of our best plays or defensive plays we don't want to rob people of the ability to play within

human tolerances of what is good basketball and it's always aggressive never rough I think the

flopping thing you don't get enough credit for where it's actually is now from where it was I would say maybe 15 years ago there were times where I was like you could run with somebody even in transition and if you just got an inch on them and then fell down they were more so we're done a lot of training on that there's I mean it is like it's it's a very easy to just go what's recently happening it's like okay this guy falls down this guy falls down a shot like

I remember those nights where it was like the peak of everybody's getting rewarded for this so I think that's been a massive improvement over however many years or more you were I think the basketball move where if you had any kind of upbeat on the three-point line if you initiated any kind of contact I mean you could jump sideways the degrees in the corner and it wasn't even the ending close to the attempt I think you've corrected that so I guess I don't know if I'm talking

as a fan or a medium member here it's probably both but when there are certain times where I

I feel like okay well these obvious things that I've noticed in the past I th...

things are happening and now like what's what's the hold up is it because we're focusing on a couple players too much and the committee thinks this is actually not that big of a problem it's specific to these guys or is it that you know to your point it's just living organism and it's like as soon as we push here then something else happens over here that you guys

aren't even thinking about and I think there's also we've been very successful with iterative

applications of things implementing something so for example on the flopping we wanted

when we put this in because a point was involved and on the first initial violation a point

our potential point a free throw is involved and so we wanted to take a very iterative approach to call a griegeous ones if we're feeling now that that's not enough our competition committee will give us those feedbacks we'll get into discussions and sometimes it does go down the path of hey this isn't a league-wide issue this is some public perception issue then we need to do a better job of educating the difference between flopping and embellishment it may mean that that we want

to calibrate it a little tighter I really like our process though of iteratively doing this right and because it allows us to get to the right point without over you know exaggerating a movement being you don't need jerk reflective we just had Gary pay it on right and he brings up handshacking and it kind of drives me crazy one of the best at it right all time but I was going to go out with them because you let people handshack I mean you can now or then now you guys

have their hands all over piano but I think that there's a difference between what a handshake is

and mere contact now we reasonable people can then decide whether that's enough or too much right but what we want is we want an aggressive game we want to be able to have a hot stove

for lack of a better description that if you beat me off the dribble by the way never happening

but if in fact you could beat me off the dribble oh buddy if in fact you could beat me off the dribble and I react briefly and it doesn't expect you know take away your speed quickness balance of rhythm we don't want 68 whistles per team per game that being said if my handshack stands you up and it does affect that speed quickness balance of rhythm then a call should be made the goal is is to have place not be placed at a disadvantage because someone used strength

over quickness that's important the calls I like in regards to the physical contact of like again it's not all under the handshack umbrella is that you penalize the defender or it's like you use your hands when you're out of position yes I think you allow when somebody's in a good defensive position to use the brakes right and then try to steer and this kind of stuff but the second something is called and I'll even be like late to it watching a TV and be like oh what happened it's like

he was past his hip and then it was the contact and that's why you took someone off the line

but they got to a jab step that they you know got to the right way but the reason I'm bringing it up is I wonder if that's if maybe you're allowing more contact in the perimeter against the ball handler in a way that maybe isn't accepted and therefore you're allowing the offensive player to initiate more offense than he ever has and that's the tug of war that's what he's trying to get to yes and that is the tug of war when we put in freedom of movement six or seven years ago

we were really great on the defensive side of the ball that calling all the wraps on the hold and everything else and then we realized about a month into the season that we were lagging behind on the push-offs we'd already taken care of the defensive side but he can't implement a rule it only affects one side of the ball because that puts an imbalance into competitive play and so I do think

that will always be looking at that tug of war between offensive and defensive contact 10 years from

now I won't be here but 10 years from now you're likely to still be here and and I think that there'll be some discussions about that the greatness of our players is what pushes the envelope for us to have to address this so that's a really good segue I think the off ball stuff for the primary scores is really tough right now I think to get open yeah yeah I think you're allowing more physicality off the ball and it's not just a playoff thing again you know sometimes it's

the resency bias and sometimes I wonder if that's something that's corrected or to your point let the star show that they're the star is by finding ways to still produce with a much more engaged you know defense that's that's so focused on stopping him so two years ago we we realized in the league office my job well I realized that all it took was an off into player to drive to your outside shoulder and throw themselves off to the left of the right and a whistle was coming

right I couldn't even player but to well that that put defensive players at a real disadvantage that if they had a space that they were had the rights to right and you just drive to my outside

Shoulder and throw yourself off to the right like parallel to the paint somet...

towards it and so I do think that we've we've gotten back to what our rulebook says that you're entitled to the pathway that you started on and so I do think that that has injected some body to body contact that we now live with now what we don't want is to allow people to take off into players off their line because then it gets rough and then you're having to fight through

or push off for those things the playoffs is always a great let me test for this because not only

is the the passion ratcheted up but you also are seeing the same team over the course of several back to back to back to back over seven games potentially and when you start knowing where someone is going to be at the same time that's the great advantage offensive have they know where something is going to go right but my game's five six and seven everyone knows where everything is going to go it becomes about execution it becomes and referees are always trying to find the balance

of impacting the game with meaningful decisions not look at me decisions we don't want that from

our referees how does social media impact your execution not on the execution I think it

most certainly has affected the ability of a young referee to grow sort of in anonymity I was

able to grow as an official in anonymity you know and I didn't have the same outside noise of the internet in my form of years and referees a hard profession and to learn it takes living through some of your mistakes and everyone sort of expects a young person to be exactly the same as our 30 year veteran these days that's we've lost an appreciation for apprenticeship you know and I think that we have to allow young players and young coaches to live through some

mistakes most certainly young referees make mistake I'll rephrase that all referees make mistakes we're imperfect beings of course as referees I think that what you're trying to do on a scale of ten is our young people may make that mistake four times our more experienced people two times and you're trying to narrow that down as quickly as possible do you think and there's this is not like out of nowhere this is a theory that's gone on for probably over 20 years but that

there was an overhauling of the fishing aim system where it was like let's make it a little more binary let's let's let's if this is a foul this is a foul this is a foul and as I saw some of this play out and I think maybe just being educated watching more and more games and then

being at ESPN and I'll just never forget Van Gundy in the time I would get with them and you know

we might be like talking about something that happened to the game and he had said and he even said on my podcast once he goes I love the guys back in the day dick but that all those guys he goes if you if you got him wants he'd be like I'm gonna screw you the rest of the game we don't do that but let me be really clear about that we don't do that right and there was that video going around from all the old guys of like Jeff he going to garnet be like you want to play tonight

am I completely misguided in in wondering if well you're not gonna say yes that was a way to do it there was a policing there where it wasn't a ones in zeros thing there was a policing which may be led to less less deep like deception towards the official game we all have to evolve right and and and to say that that you get to be and referee off your reputation for example I have this name I've been around a long time don't talk to me that way is is an infantile or

or not quite fully developed profession if that's the case because if in fact you call me up the next day and say why did you call that because no one talks to me that way that's ridiculous that's

not a standard that wouldn't go over well and so I think we have to evolve into a standard based

place while still allowing judgment to take place on the 50 50 play and make sure it's consistent from night tonight and within quarter to quarter of an NBA game I think Van Gundy misses the old way Stan Jeff it's funny how it's been a great relationship right we have great

relationships that doesn't mean we always see this eye to eye on referee money I appreciate it

enjoy the final so always it's a pleasure to be here thank you for having me the alliance marches on live in San Antonio grabbing until left and right last week loser two and one Sam Merrill I screwed up Sam Merrill didn't screw it up I would never say that about him but he's eliminated we have two teams left so let's go the board is uh Sirudis I went back to back weeks taking the hard and under and I hit both times and I have to actually make

A real bet um I'm good I'm I never swear to that for a second by the way that...

that's just it's such a fun watch to better James Harden under anyway I'm going to take

McKell bridges over 14 1/2 he's been on fire I think what I think it's seven of the last eight

he's hit this I know like it's in San Antonio where obviously here spursy events is good but we talked about this on earlier pause they're going to leave him open they're leaving him and Josh hard open right so I think he makes shots um they're going to leave hard open more they're going to leave maybe open but I feel more comfortable taking bridges points so I'll take it over 14 1/2 points for a couple bridges yeah because hard could actually get bench for sham and here bridges won't

get bench I wouldn't think uh Kyle this is a little New York basketball bet but not in the way that you might expect we're taking Julian Champetti overnight and 1/2 points uh the odds on the threes are a little scary so we're just see if he puts a chance Brooklyn his father yeah yeah that's deep New York wins either way so let's do this that's deep I was watching a video of the day and it was somebody who said in the background this is why no one goes to pick kipcy anymore oh and I was like

did oh yeah that was uh what's his face I got that's making the rounds you get that's a years old but yeah I know Mark Norbert I just we just don't need that oh that's Norman that's Mark yeah

well I'll tell you right now that's never heard you from loving Mark Norbert's get nothing on you

and um I didn't really know what the relation is there but that's fine I think cats in a bit of

a feel it out mode uh depending on what's gonna happen here I was watching the most recent game again and uh you know they put castle on them because it's the one been yam a heart thing and so you would think okay but like the cat shot attempts I mean we're dramatically down now granted he didn't have to chuck it as much as he normally would have to because they were blowing these teams out but I'm gonna go under 18 points 18 is 18 or 18 and a half for me 17 and a half so 17 and a half all right

so under 17 and a half it's gonna suck of it goes to 18 so that is the alliance what's the pal plus 450 oh yeah you're sitting in the media area and cows like one minus one three they're good enough for you and they're like all right do like the first off it is good enough all right just don't dip and we let you do one for you right it was minus 170 we were getting a little annoyed about all right I think there was a 180 in there there was a bustle we're pushing too

200 I feel like it's sorry nobody ever told me the rule what was the bet was it the it was the

and I think that's your biggest fear of the life maybe we'll all be sick together by the being other I'd like to not be sick find out short period time but hey it is what it is it's the finals I can't get sick I knew this was gonna happen all right let's get to some emails here life if I saw our gmail.com help I need I need help my co-workers I need my co-workers just stop hitting on me hmm tell me about it it's better be a girl otherwise 26 25 year old female okay

alright five seven one fifty bench one fifty five deadlift three hundred basketball

com someone who's never played basketball I'm an American working overseas all my co-workers

are American man around my age please do not read this part okay I will not read that I'm the only female here it's a very straightforward job I would say I hope she didn't have a panic attack as I read don't read this part but I was trying to let the audience realize it like as I read what is that she does make sense but you know she's gonna be outnumbered only female here about 30 guys I work with some of them I'm married about two thirds of them are single here's the

problem I moved here about six months ago while I'm friendly with the guys I work with I'm included in group activity sometimes in the weekends I'm still trying to find a soul a solid friend group I recently ended a long-term relationship I have no interest in dating right now especially someone I work with however word is gotten out about my relationship status and I am noticing a dramatic increase in attention from several of my co-workers I try not to read into everything and I know I'm

not a ten but these guys have no other options also you're in the dog power yeah this is crazy not every single guy is making a pass to me but I found out that when I started to become closer friends with someone I begin to notice they want more I've been told in the past I have a friendly personality that could be taken the wrong way when I was in a relationship I did not have these problems at the end of the day I'm just trying to find a solid group of friends

hanging out with what is the best way to make clear that I am not trying to date anyone while

still making genuine friendships thank you and shout out for my brother for putting me on a life advice nice shout out to your brother yeah did you get hit on a lot at the ringer when you

first started people were feeling me out I think but I mean again the ringer was like more the

HBO show was like what's up that was a more diverse ringer was like dudes was dudes and they were like two women and you know they I've heard stories not bad ones but just like you know when there's only two women dudes come around checking in I was in my inbox yeah yeah yeah here you're kind of like to the point of this email like you are in a massively saturated male thing and I would say a lot of these men it's like the first time that they're outside of the house in this industry it's also

maybe not like some guys are cool there's probably a lot of other guys are pretty socially awkward and you might be like the only woman that they've encountered um and talked to a lot of the only one they get to see every day. I don't know what job this is this is I'm fascinating. Yeah well I'm not gonna see what it is but that's an interesting point if you're the only woman they get to see every day they could just try different stuff it's like remember like click was it click where you

could like pause and just try new shots like I can sell I'll just try just try something on Wednesday should you watch click because I already said no I was just thinking like you know it's like a cheat code

For these guys so I'll see you tomorrow then and also sounds like this is 100...

you're you're attainable right like you're not too hot for everybody too like you're in there's

oh my god you're attainable it's like you're more like yeah Lisa live of at Lisa's here shout out

to her she said this whole thing up she's more like she's more like she's yeah like she but so so but I'm I'm saying that and that like dudes are more likely to come up for you and kind of keep being persistent because they're you're like oh like maybe I can go out with this person so that kind of sucks for you um the question is though what can she do to plant the floor I guess I don't know back together with a boyfriend and it's super complicated yeah we're thinking

about getting engaged yeah I don't know I mean I know that's not the way to go show up with a ring one day and I don't know look some dudes suck man you know it's just they're going to be like this is the first person that's ever paid attention to me and then you're in this sort of intimate

profession and you know you're you're like it's never like they're never going to go away there's

no way that you can avoid this because of the job that you have and you can be like super direct and try to make it some personal growth journey thing where you're like I'm going to start telling everybody that I'm not interested and I'm going to tell them immediately and that would be awesome but then some guys are going to be like oh she's turning into a real the beware yeah yeah yeah the old like hey I'm guessing you're like you know where like I can get a soda it's like

I have a boyfriend like all right we right just told you dropped your wallet relax yeah I don't

know that's um I think well I have any good ones lie yeah say you're back into the relation

please says yes lie about and then it's just on again off again and you be like we're both so crazy just keep selling like that crazy you are when you're in a relationship you be like he came to my parents house he broke down the door right just don't want this smoke I know I go through his phone all the time so um all right okay uh ex girlfriend vacation charge six months later 28 5/11 man bench 28 5/11 rep occasional stretches of landry outside of this playoff run

need a ruling on a situation that is divided my friend group my buddy Josh dated a girl for about a year and a half serious relationship met families all that while they were dating last summer they booked a memorial day weekend trip to new port fast forward they break up in November he initiated it no cheating no major drama just one of those adult breakups were both people move on now it's memorial day weekend that Friday six months later Josh is hanging out with a few of

his phone rings it's the ex he ignores it she texts the guest are the gist yes most people pronounce it

the gist apparently the new port reservation was never canceled the hotel wouldn't refund it

and now there's a charge it's $2,500 here's where it gets interesting I read the text she never really says I forgot to cancel instead it's weed in cancel it we have this charge and the hotel said it's our fault very careful warning uh Lexi trying to distribute ownership of the mistake without ever admitting that she was the one who actually was getting the reminders and managing the reservation for context they haven't been together for six months she has a new boyfriend she comes from money

has a good job Josh also has a high paying finance job so neither person is getting sent to collections over this but still this is an insanely heavy Venmo the friend group immediately convenes an emergency summit one guy says you own nothing ghost and fade forever this isn't your problem

anymore another guy says fine maybe 25% is a goodwill gesture a third says 50 50 because they

booked it together that's the worst friend out of the entire group it is so not fucking 50 50 should this even be a discussion if you're good to cancel it trip six months after a breakup isn't that just your mistake it is if you're a guy I can tell you that let me know you guys out there that breakup of somebody six months before you forget to cancel a reservation and how it goes on that Venmo request when the gender roles are flipped you're going on her snapchat look at this guy

well an hour of some back and forth and whatnot Josh sends her 12 50 oh my god like he was just paying a Venmo request for fantasy football dues gone my question is what's the correct ruling here is splitting it the mature thing to do because they originally booked together or is this one of those situations with the breakup itself effectively transferred responsibility to whoever was still attached to the reservation and receiving the reminders assuming there were reminders I can say I think

my guy might be right how old is he what does this say at the beginning of the email 28 maybe ahead of his time it's also because I think this is what if it was a good there was no cheating she didn't key as car where you're like man I hope karma comes back and then this thing lands in your lap you're like well great okay but none of that stuff happened so I think

I think as an adult thing to do certainly she did get screwed but the thing that's important is she's

still getting screwed the just as much it's not like you're you're paying for the whole thing it's she doesn't get away scott free and you are getting it all the way screwed but it's kind of

Not your problem though kind of not your problem yeah so I would agree this i...

correct that's the worst possible outcome she absolutely got emails about this and she just didn't

figure it out it's not your response or what emails when you have these trips I mean there's not zero there's gotta be something there's gotta be some sort of paper trail and like it's not if it was on her card I don't know I feel like you it's not your job to retroact we go back a halo by the way did you cancel that thing that we were supposed to do I definitely don't know yeah I wouldn't do that I mean I'm not anti-giving maybe a little bit but that's 50 50 seems dumb and also

she has a new boyfriend too they both seem like they have money I this to me is six months I

here's what is what I think is going on she wanted a reason to reach out oh yeah maybe she's not

interested in the other guy yeah yeah so um that was her face for money yeah right he's a

god I really miss her oh here's here's a good I have 12 butterflies yeah some about her just so good

to reckon bookkeeping yeah I think you screwed it up sorry yeah yeah that's all right yeah I mean I really don't love that he paid half of this I don't know how off I think some hotels there's no reminders usually nicer ones like hey you're so and so excited to see you but then what's the window on the cancellation and all that kind of stuff you know there's a pretty good chance unless she's I mean some people are good at this stuff some people really bad at it I wonder if

it's just another way to see how he responds from hearing from her after she had in her from forever even if she's dating somebody else like it doesn't really mean anything if you book a trip though and it's there's a six months thing at some point during that sick you're gonna think

about the trip like do you everyone always thinks about the vacation that's coming how do you

forget about something like that yeah that's a good point now again there's a breakups you're not like necessarily planning for but it was at least something on your radar like of course say it was in like you know I don't know October like the whole summer I'm gonna be thinking about there's

gonna be things I'm thinking about about this trip so telly she I don't know I think she'd clearly

screwed up and by the way the the the verbiage she used in there he's rides a hundred percent manipulative to make it seem like it's actually a shared responsibility when it's kind of not yeah I don't like that and that's a ruling 80 percent of her fall 20 percent year of fall venerable quest back some money here's 25 bucks best I could do I'm just telling you like sometimes there are people that break up and then there's like these

little minor things or it's like oh at some point the person that I broke up with will have to address this and that may be what you're dealing with here she knew the whole time she's like I'm gonna actually have this thing and then I can go to him and be like he owe me 1250 because she's still probably mad if this guy's like hot finance guy over six foot you know she's not running

one of those guys all the time all right let's say we're gonna newport for mont there's no way

that was gonna cost 20 I don't like it yeah you can stay a newport for mont one for like six months off 2500 all right let's see here 32 six foot 190 Jim stats thousand pound club 385 335 345 345 Father two girls both under three years old nice that's uh same as you yeah I do get one bulk of the grocery shopping in my house which I don't mind considering I work from home and do the cooking as well grocery shopping is usually done it was one of

both kids to coordinate with daycare pickup or other errands great activity to get out of the house and have them hang in the cart think a lot of that I love a trader Joe says then they get the sticker they get a lot of pop they pick stuff out trade those pretty low stakes get them sure the you're like when you have kids in that we my wife and I was like like what are low stakes places we can go chillies perfect example low stakes place you know you're on good old nice place you got a chillies and I love chillies

what about a franchise called low stakes everything is round your owners you may have a waiter right not like an instead of like edges of tables is just troughs you just swipe it off and then dump you can dump your own trough and you fresh all over again everything smaller yeah that's great everything small place for kids on yeah whether you want to have that day that's a sworn milk or ten beers or slits on everything thank you for your raincoat that's really good

yeah this sounds good that would be great as I'm telling you for absolute guys who are going to get shit faced or infants or or who have like girls we can see this themselves yes no that'd be great last day I mean iconic summer moments deserve an iconic drink reach from Mountain Dew an American original from its beginnings no foothills of Tennessee for your biggest summer yet the refreshing citrus kick of Mountain Dew is the perfect companion to your American summer adventures

Enjoy to refreshing citrus kick of Mountain Dew tasting grapes is 48 but from...

store is near you at Mountain Dew dot com that's Mountain Dew dot com board games all right

so yeah so Rudy absolute stamp of approval great activity getting the kids out of house

I now I frequent oh I frequent a wagmans which is always slamming effectively the cultural

center of my town the store has a handful of parking spots right near the door for parents with small children which if you're lucky enough to grab one is awesome for obvious reasons the question comes in abuse of these spots I haven't seen people with uh using the spots with no sign of a kid no car seat in the back which really grinds my gears even worse is when you see the instacart shoppers the stores flooded with them use them as well it's such a gray area versus

handicapped spot which has a clear indicator and tag permit jeopardy of a ticket and that's enough of moral implication there's no true recourse for abuse of these parent parking spots on days it's raining or I'm just worn out from corraling to kids I really want to tell these people to kindly fuck off is that out of bounds and if not how do I go about it I think you do tell them the fuck off I think like you walk I mean yeah I know you're gonna have kids with you but

like say something about it you have to you don't have to swear but just be like hey like

or the kids you guys adopt and soon you're just getting the you get in the rhythm you're getting ready yet it's just a room for I run for you guys just testing out the spots to see if it if you like it into it like have some good one liners I feel like you would have the perfect answer I mean you've done things like this before and people break social norms but I got to say if that big handicapped public stall is open I'm sorry I think it's different totally

different story yeah I could I could use the I could use the smaller one and have my knees touching both the walls or it's a different it just is I don't know that I have a great explanation it just is I just feel like the number of people rolling with a wheelchair that are going to be really upset they are using that stall is so much lower than like the likelihood of times I've seen a guy walking out of a nice Tesla not to say that somebody with a handicap tag can't have a nice

car but like I see it all the time and I've never actually seen it in the blue spaces in the blue

spaces so this is different because they're going like oh I'm not I'm not breaking your handicapped thing yeah there's four of these spots like I'm running and doing whatever I'd argue doing this is way worse than the handicapped spots because of the number of times I've seen people with handicapped tags and you just you just want to be like what is it like diabetes or something oh man also I mean look I'm not saying you're right you're right I'm not just yeah yeah

no I get on the surface it's way more yeah the like actual handicapped person who wants to fuck with that person that's not what I'm talking about I am telling I've said this for years it feels like 90% of the time I see somebody with one of those tags you're like just you just know someone at the DMV or like you haven't thought that has a wheelchair and then I don't know how this works you that is definitely true but I don't know

kids parking spots in the handicapped spot are definitely just different like you're going to get judge if I'm not a litter I'm not a litter bug but I do throw cigarettes on the ground is that litter my mom I think that's grandfathered in yeah yeah so like but like I won't throw bags of chips on the ground and if I see somebody do that I get in rage and then like I'll pop my little my little filter on the ground I'm like I'll street cleaning okay but

it's like weird it's weird what we can separate so I don't know I don't think I'm on your

guy side I think it's a nice thing that Wegman's trying to do and Wegman's people always

think Wegman's is like the best thing ever which it sounds like I've never heard of a

children spot before I have any there I think if they grow in the job market why can't you have just one guy out there that's like no kid yeah the guy who's the cart guy yeah nothing happening you just be like alright let's little strength and conditioning like yeah put your arms out like I'm gonna push down you get caught right doing that you should have to them like actually take kids into Wegman's and go grocery shopping with them that's even better

like you should be like a boy's in girls class situation where it's like there's an you can't do a mistake two of them do a fancy steak house this Friday yeah or taking a low stakes yeah all right well I think let's take this to easy I think we're doing a lot of good stuff for people out there thanks to Kevin on the road with us Tom back home Kyle Serruti Lisa we're live in San Antonio and we'll be back again after game number one of the NBA

finals will be broadcasting live inside of fast bank center Brian Russela show Parsley sports
