It's almost over the story,
but it's a hard story. And then it's tough. No, not yet. This story is my safe space. Can you tell me everything about it?
Yes, exactly. This story is the story of the story that is simply different. The story of the studio, "Jobbo" or "Unsu."
The story is different. It doesn't feel like it's a story. The story is a story. It's a story. With this story.
Okay. We're good. Okay. Hugs are you on your phone? Oh, not supposed to be a story.
Perfect. Saying we're recording. And maybe... Oh, Harrison's phone's in a great place.
Here's what he's in a great place.
You know, I have noticed. Maybe his Apple Watch. Get my shorts. That I've been wearing. I would shorts.
That I love. They really hike up quite a bit when I record. So they may not be recording shorts anymore. It's good. It's good.
I'm shocked that no one's commented. You see, like, my thigh, like, almost out to my butt. They can't be commenting that. Ah, yes. You can't.
That's grounds for canceling. You couldn't comment on a woman's butt. You can't comment on a man. And comment of a man is showing too much delay. I'm showing too much delay.
I'm showing too much delay. I'm showing too much belly. And I want them all to be quiet. If I'm showing too much delay, I want to know that from everyone.
Okay. Commentators as well as the people in this room. It's common tears.
You always call them commentators.
I want you to wear shorter shorts. I think you have pretty legs.
“I think you wear these low, baggy shorts.”
And they-- Oh, shorts are very short. They're not--no, they're not. They're not very short. They're average.
I'm happy with the length of these shorts. Yeah, you're high-rock shorts. Are those your high-rock shorts? No, these are a little less. Okay, let's start ready.
Are you ready? Mm-hmm. Okay. Welcome back to another episode of Two Parents in a podcast. I have to say I love recording the day that it things drop.
Because I just posted an Instagram account. And we'll just talk to you around four p.m. today. So it's like very IRL. Yeah, really is. Harrison came from a workout class.
He's on-- You're just on a full health kick, yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Is that accurate to say about you?
I would say you're dialed in. I'm focused on getting in the best possible place health-wise that I can before. The little guy comes. Must be nice, huh? No, I'm just kidding.
I'm not-- Yeah, I don't want to say that enough. No, with Tate, I really struggled with that. I was like, you're just kidding. And I don't know why.
Like, I should have been applauding that for you. But instead, I was like, you can't get in such good shape. Because I'm just over here not getting in good shape. But what I'm doing is I'm walking every day. And I feel a lot better than I did with her.
So I'm happy. I'm also-- I need to cheerlead you doing that because it's better for the family. Yeah, I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. But I definitely feel very supported right now,
as I went through the quest to try and get back in shape. You are very soon.
And the first time around, I felt guilty when I would go workout.
Yeah.
“That's what I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to say.”
Am I allowed to say that? You are allowed to say that. And here's why. And I'm not mad that I felt guilty. And I understood it.
But that's-- yeah, it just-- it felt like-- Yeah, I think I'm-- I felt so sick with tape every single day that-- Oh, yeah. I actually can't even justify why I was like that.
That wasn't cool of me. It's actually postpartum. I think it's what I'm referring to. And I got to say on this note. Oh, I don't think so.
Timing is such a blur. I was going to ask you guys a question. Yeah. Because with tape, she was very her smallest, like in the fall and winter.
And like, I feel like it's a whole different ball game with the summer. It's a whole different ball game. I'm so excited. I see comments of people saying the best time
to have a baby is in the summer. No. The best time to have a baby. I have a lot of conviction on this now. Is I think March or April.
Because you have the baby. And then you're not pregnant in the heat of summer, which is huge. Because being pregnant when it's really hot outside, it's the most measurable thing.
It's the most measurable thing on the planet. When you're in your third trimester during the cold months, it's great. Then you have the baby. And you postpartum by the pool.
“And I think like you can go on walks and things.”
And like every and things are happy in the summer. And then, you know, the vibe outside is great. People are traveling. People are off school.
So I love this trajectory. And I just think as a person, like you're able to say more active. Like I just think the vibe is going to be so different between like not working out october to December.
Versus like you're going to want to work out. In April. Well, I think that where things got specific, where the, where the, like where I, I felt guilty working out was like she had the,
the, the, the, the, like the crazy stitching and I don't know how much of it.
We've talked about it on the podcast.
Well, we can do a little bit of recap of right now.
“But she, her physical recovery was significantly like,”
it was extreme. So let's do some things. It was very hard.
First of all, if you're listening.
More hard than normal. I know they're all very hard. Okay. So if you're listening, subscribe to the podcast,
but you guys are doing, but a lot of you that listen aren't actually subscribed. So we need you to subscribe. Like the video. Okay.
I need to do this. I hate to do this. What's wrong with it? You're not a pleaser. Oh.
And you know what I noticed it? Officially when I noticed it. Last night when we went for tacos. Harrison. I recorded us order in the tacos because I was going to do a talk or a view of a tape.
But then we got there and tape wasn't in the mood. So I didn't, I didn't want to do that. And I recorded it.
“And like, wow, she just placed her order and didn't say please.”
Because you're behavior at the taco shop. I'm shocked. You want to do this. I'm going to put the video up. They had to open up a second lane.
Because you were sitting there asking so many questions. I was so fortified that I had to walk off. So you were so mortified. You couldn't say please. No.
I was asking her about the menu. I'm going to put up the video. They had to open up a second. A guy came over and saw the line getting so long that he had to open up a second line. Because this is, this is your local taco shop.
Everyone knows what they want. There's, there's, there's casity is, there's tacos and there's burritos. And that's it. And I mean, this man stood there and asked question after, like you guys know how he is. Sometimes a little detail oriented.
I was so mortified that I just had to walk off. But let me ask you this. No, did I want to be at the taco shop? Thank you so much for going to the taco shop. Yeah.
Yeah. So, but here's my question. How are my manners? The, I have to tell you. You don't say please.
I have 10 out of 10. I just, if on that, this is a grab component. There was no please. Guys, please. Please.
And my crazy on this shows. Alex has a really great manner.
Well, for manners are amazing.
Her manners are amazing. She doesn't say please. You're not a pleaser. Not fine. Because she got 10 out of 10 manners elsewhere.
I agree. You've 10 out of 10 manners. I'm just not like, I noticed you don't do this. But recently, where the, the waiter said, you can stop saying thank you.
I feel like you're crazy person right now. I'm not talking about your manners. I'm talking about your manners. I'm not talking about your manners. I'm talking about please.
Even that dynamic. Where he said, and he absolutely said, you can stop saying thank you. He absolutely complimented you on how gracious you're being. That doesn't take away from the fact you don't say please.
Okay, maybe I'm not going to say please. I'll, I will try to add that to my. Does it matter?
Like I always grew up with the understanding.
Like, did you need it to say please? Well, Bubbers, we, Bubbers is learning please. Like, and you have Bubbers say please all the time. We are, we are saying please in our household. If my legs are in the way, like if I might legs on a, on a coffee table.
I'm Bubbers trying to get by. Alex, but do not move those legs until she says please. [laughter] And she makes Bubbers say please for me to move my legs. Well, I don't want Bubbers to think she can come over.
Just be moving people's legs. I want Bubbers to know. You guys, say please move your legs. Hold on, I want it. I want to do.
I love sort of giving people an expectation off the top of what we're going to be talking about. And apparently, we're going to be talking about my manners for five more minutes. And then what we're going to do? We're going to do a little bubble update. We've got the pacifier.
We've got some milestones that she's up to. And in her life, we've got our Easter plans. We've got some things mom and dad of what Harrison and I have been up to. We're going to talk about. We've like a lot of IRL updates.
And then we have a bigger of the week. And so it's a fun episode. Here's the thing. Harrison emailed us this. It's called the deathbed regret list.
And he was going through it last night when we were programming. And he was like two serious. So this is supposed to be an update a light a fun episode. And we also watched the first episode of Paradise. So we're going to talk about what we did.
Like we're going to talk about so many things. I'd really like what you did right there. Thank you. What is it? Please tell me.
I like it. Yeah. I like it. You brought the listener in on the programming. Which then leads to like the type of episode.
This is the mindset of this episode with the cutting the deathbed thing. To hopefully bring it back to the next one. And you guys imagine that level of detail ordering at the taco shop.
“And that's why they had that's why they had to open the second line.”
I got to be honest. I thought the taco shop was a six out of 10.
Carby comfort food is basically the meaning of life.
But when it comes to counting your macros, sometimes two things can't be true at the same time. You can't have the bread. You used to have and still meet your macros. And that's where hero bread comes into play, you guys.
You would never know that it's zero to five net carbs and 11 to 32 grams of fiber just from the texture.
You'd think, wow, no way. This tastes too good to be true. You get the soft, fluffy experience that you know and love. Whether you're packing fresh wraps for everyday lunches or toasting up to 19 grams of a protein breakfast bagel. There's no compromises, you guys just flavor.
Zero to five net carbs. Zero grams of sugar and 11 to 32 grams of fiber. All of your favorite recipes are covered with heroes. Bread sliced bread loaves, tortillas, bagels and noodles. I'm telling you, this might seem too good to be true.
We have tried it and Harrison was obsessed with it before they came on the podcast. And then I tried it and I'll tell you what it truly is unbelievable. So hero bread is offering 10% off your order to our listeners. Go to hero.co and use code two parents at checkout. That's two parents at HERO.co.
So, okay, we went to this. Please do not say the name. I won't because I don't know it because neither of us can remember it. But I thought it was a 10 out of 10. Our friends referred us to this taco shop that they said was so good.
And we went last night and it was everything I wanted. It was I don't want so much fanciness in my Mexican food. I just want to burrito. It was a bean, cheese, rice, and chicken burrito. And it was perfect.
“And most importantly, do you want to know most importantly?”
I felt good afterwards. That's most important. I ordered all four tacos on the menu. We know.
One of the four was amazing.
The al pastor. The other ones, the steak was not good. The chicken was not good. And then the fourth was a hybrid where the pork bites were great. And the steak bites weren't.
I felt like they just overcooked the chicken and the steak. And I felt the steak was chewy. Oh, my chicken was phenomenally cooked. I think sometimes I-- The pork was amazing though.
If you just cut the pork tacos, I could see how you'd love it. But the group chat was blowing up about having like a love this place. And I didn't want to be like the Debbie Downer. Oh, you got it. You got to say your piece here. We have to tell you to be honest.
You got to be honest about how you feel about the food places we go try. I think please can be offset with how are you? May I get-- Thank you so much. I feel like then--
May I get-- may I please get very different? I think-- Hi, how are you? How's it going? May I get the bean burrito with chicken?
Okay, amazing. Thank you so much.
“It's better than-- can I please get the chicken burrito?”
I think-- Tom matters. I think tone matters. I think there's some other things you can wrap up in the present that matter. But I'm going to add-- I'm going to add saying please to the top of my brain.
So, Bubba says please in sign language. Because you can't say please quite yet. So, she does this right here. It's a swipe across the chest. And thank you as a kiss.
But she started cheating on the pleases. Have you noticed? She's doing this. If she-- yeah, if she's like, if she really wants something, and you say, say please, you go-- Yes, she's doing really well.
But if she's-- but like, send her and she'll know, depends her vibe. But she smiles really big when she says the pleases. Bubba's in a really fun stage. So one thing, let's do the milestone of Bubba right now. So, she's learned to say please, she can say more words.
It's really fun. We're starting to learn words. Like, bye. She can put words together now. Bye, Mama.
She can put words together, which is great. When she puts a purse on, she's not going anywhere because she can't open the door. She'll start telling us both by because she's got her purse on. It is the cutest. Bye.
Bye. It's so cute. I have a question. What?
“Are we at risk for her being able to open the door before she can understand that she's not allowed to open the front door?”
Well, I don't know because we have a knob door and she can't do knobs yet. But if so, we'll just start locking it and we'll put a thing on it. It's easy. Yeah, but we should probably get ahead of that. Yeah, but we'll watch it.
Yeah.
Like, Bubbers never downstairs near the door where one of us isn't.
No, but she's quick. She is quick, but she can't, she can't haul it down our front steps. I mean, it's pretty cute. She run to the front steps at once. She gets there.
It's about two minutes for her to get down them all the way. So, we do have a second, but one question that we did want to ask the audience because we haven't researched yet. I think we could make a TikTok and we could learn a lot about this.
Because last night, for example, something that I learned from you all.
I was reading all the comments about introducing, you know, a toddler to a newborn baby. And some of the comments I had seen before, I didn't learn a lot. But the one thing I did learn was make sure to also tell the baby, I need to go love on your sister, Tate.
I'm going to go cook with Tate because we'll always be telling Tate.
Hey, honey, we have to go be with your brother for a second. But make sure to do the reverse of that so she knows we're sharing our time. And I thought that was a really good comment. So smart, so simple, wouldn't, but even though it's super simple, I don't know if I would have thought about it, especially being super intentional with that.
Yeah, telling the baby boy, like, yeah, we're going to go hang out with your sister now. I love that. We've also started hair. What hair sometimes are doing is making our schedule for when the baby does come, which is exciting, like Tate and Winnie are going to be over at Winnie's house for maybe two weeks every day.
And we're starting to figure out where we want help, how we want to do our meals, things like that. What we're not doing, which is like really surprising me, like we haven't ordered the postpartum kit. We haven't, it's just so second baby. We haven't done his closet at all. It's so funny, we haven't ordered newborn diapers.
So Friday is good Friday. Correct, it is.
“And I think that I want to dedicate all of Friday to house organizing.”
Okay. I did make a bit of an Easter plan on the end at four or five o'clock. Me and my mom. I'm on Friday.
Yes, me and my mom's a group chat.
We're going to go see where either go see the Easter Bunny or we're going to have an Easter egg hunt. Very exciting. Yeah. I had an idea for Sunday brunch as well. Sunday brunch, what is it?
I think that we should have a big brunch at our house. Mm-hmm. And I think we should like open it up and invite like a bunch of people. Love it. I would love to do that.
Like not trying to like, you know, four or six, but just hey, come on over. Anybody can come. Very neighborhood focused. So speaking of the neighborhood, we do have, I checked this morning online. We do have an Easter egg hunt in nine o'clock on Saturday morning.
We have to drop off eggs, 12 a dozen eggs filled by Friday. And the hunt is Sunday or Saturday. Saturday at nine a.m. But Easter is Sunday. Correct.
But last year they did the same thing because we'll, you know, people go to church on Sunday morning. And they go to brunch.
“So I think they try to avoid doing the egg hunt that day.”
Okay.
That makes a lot of sense.
So we haven't shown we have an Easter filled weekend. We've got Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But I have sent you so many Easter recipes. They're not even recipes. It's like, you know, the body of the bunnies of banana and the ears or the grapes.
So I want you to make some of these. I want to get ahead of something. Okay. I'm planning on going to a new barbecue place. I'm Friday.
Okay. Telling you now. Okay. Anyway, just to continue to happen. Okay.
What's time we go on? Sometime between probably 12 30 and 230. Okay. Great. I think that's good.
Okay. This really looks like what's the barbecue joint? I can't find it. My phone's over there. That's good.
It's so good that your phone's over there. But it's a bus. It's like an old broken down like school bus. Love that. Yeah.
It looks really cool.
“You should take butter and you guys could see the wheels on the bus.”
Go around and around. The horn goes beep. I think that I think it's like a guy's thing. That's also nap time. Who are you going with?
I'll get into that later. Well, when are we going to get into it? Tell us. Tell the class. I don't know.
How many guys are going? Two. Four. Well, I went for barbecue with two people on Friday and I really liked it. And I'm going to invite the two of them again.
Two people on the street. Yeah. He's going with street buddies. It's good. Let me just say this.
Okay. Hold on. Let's go down my list here because I think we have a really good list of things that are happening. So we were on tates updates now. She can say words, which is really cute.
She's learning. So for example, I was getting my hair done at home on Sunday or on Saturday morning. And the girl, it was my hair's name is Katie. So we're like, we're as dad and she points to dad. I was mama, we're as tight.
And then we say, that's as Katie. She can't say Katie's. She was called her Kiki. So we say then we're as Kiki. Kiki.
And so she would walk around and she would leave. She would come back and she would kicky. Like she knows people's name. She knows a little girl across the street's name. Now, and she can remember it.
So that's been a really fun development. And she loves. Sometimes she'll have just walking up. She'll make tape. I'm like, yes.
That is. Thank you for that. You are late. So that's a really cute milestone that's happening for us at 18 months. I'm sure it happens for everybody at different times. And then the last one is Harrison gets a gold star for having
Bubbers pacifier removal become a lot easier. So what did you do here? Tell us. I don't think this is rocket science. But I think it's cool that you did it. But and I think I alluded to it on the last episode.
Oh, the thing you were trying for seven days.
Did I say that I was trying it? No, you'd do it.
“We were trying the other thing for seven days.”
What other? Oh, we don't. I don't know.
Yeah, I'm going to have a third day.
Okay. Oh, can we talk about it since you failed? Yes. No, because we're going to. It's weekdays.
It's weekdays. So it's. It's been. I did it once. It's Monday to Thursday.
It's because we can't. You can't do it. We can. You can't do it. It's.
It's. It's. It's. It's. It's.
It's. I did it on Thursday.
People are going to be confused.
We've got to move on. Yeah. Just on Thursday.
“We're going to have an update for something that Alex and I.”
It's more of an Alex and I trying. But it does relate to buffer. And who's better at it? You for sure. Alex is.
I'm really good for sure.
I'm pregnant with number two, which means I know first hand.
Figuring out your feeding journey can be stressful, both mentally and physically. Which is why I decided to give myself grace the second time around. I'm going to give myself grace the first time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time I'm going to give myself grace the second time.
Without having to slow both them over from Europe you guys whether you're combo feeding exclusively formula feeding or just want a backup for those just in case moments. For me, for example, I was at a meeting one time on ever forget the proper hotel and I had to go to the bathroom pump and Uber the milk home. And that would be an example of a time this time around where I'm not going to put so much pressure on myself, I'm just going to say hey let's use our Bobby at home. Bobby is our go to trusted choice all Bobby formulas are designed for easy digestion they're molded after breast milk and they're made with certified organic non GMO pesticide free ingredients you can feel good about putting in your baby's bottle.
I love knowing that Bobby sweats every detail of the quality every ingredient every test every can so we as parents don't have to because we have so much to worry about that this is one area where we can leave it to the experts and Bobby is the expert. Every single batch goes through over 2,000 safety and quality checks plus third party testing for heavy metals before it ever leaves their U.S facility.
“If you want to feed with confidence to head to high bobby dot com that's high bobby dot com B O B B I E to find the formula trusted by parents and loved by their babies 700,000 in counting.”
So, but to bring the train back on the tracks on the passy what I had to do is when we wake up I had to have her give me the passy and I put the passing the bed or I have her put the passing in the bed and it's now very much turned into. It actually kind of goes both ways sometimes she'll put it in either time shop to give it to me but it it really works and we made it it's like a bit of an activity. And this morning we this morning like I do want me to tell like two kind of stories of how this is played out.
Yeah, tell about the passy falling on on the crib and how she went to get it. Okay, so yesterday we were in her room because we were getting her shoes and she saw the bv on the floor and she sprinted towards the bv and she put it got it. Dunked it over the crib and then waved at it and I was like oh my goodness, I'm so happy because I thought she was running to grab it. Today though was a bit of a different story where she's now spending a little more time in her crib when she wakes up before when she calls for us.
And I saw her wake up this morning and she was hanging out there and then when I heard her making noise the reason why she was making noise was because the passy fell out of the crib. So I think that like part of why she kind of like hanging out at the bed right now is because like she's getting her passy time which I think is pretty funny but. So I go in there and I she's pointing bv and I pick so I take her out of the crib and I I like mission impossible her down to pick up the bv. And yeah and she picks up the bv right in her mouth I'm like no no tape bv goes in the crib and we probably had a three to four minutes stand off.
And I just I wouldn't I was just stand up by the crib I'm like buffer. Bv in the crib did she do it by by by Bv in the crib and I just kept on my hand there and then yeah after like three minutes she. That was it how much she didn't put it back in she put it in my hand. Not a big cry little noise and put it down and then she lived and it was it was smooth.
I don't know how interesting or boring that is I assume most people would fin...
What we've learned so much of is like when we bring her in on the process that makes things so much more effective versus like when we just draw line.
And that that's when we have a challenges well I've even noticed like she eats more of her food when she gets to pick it. She just loves because these toddlers at this age I read the other day like they think that the world just solely revolves around them right now. You know and of course you do little things to let them know that that's not the way that it goes but they can only comprehend so much so.
“I think meeting them halfway and saying hey you get to put your pacifier in there I'm not yanking it away from you gives them autonomy and I do think it makes her feel proud.”
Yeah totally so I think it's really cute that you're doing that and we were worried about our babies that are Caroline having her with pacifier situation and I made a tick talk about this. But she takes that she said she just put the pasty in there and wave that it because Caroline woke her up from her nap time and she put her pacifier in her crib and she wave that it so. I was just really proud that Barbara gets it but I was going to bring this up to you at some point I think she's spending more time in her crib because she gets like 10 more minutes with her pasty which is fine.
I think this morning she's like doing some like power pasty sucks. I need the pasty. You know what would have made it take give you the pasty faster. What if you said please. Wow.
She went without saying please.
Okay so guess what? What? I'm going to pull up the man at footage. And I guarantee I said please. Okay.
I guarantee because I talked to her when I told I say please. I also the way to get it out of the right is you have shoes. Barbara shoes. I trade her the pasty for shoes because if you give her shoes then she knows she goes outside. So okay I'm so glad you said that because I didn't want to forget this.
“One question we were at like we were talking about tantrums right?”
I was like we are at that phase. And for example whenever we were done with the mini shopping cart she started tantruming. She was like I want the mini shopping cart and they don't last very long. But the the most liked comment was take talk taught me you're supposed to say where's Jessica. I saw this but I didn't understand it.
I tried to research it.
I couldn't find anything but then I was reading the comments below it and basically you just say where's Jessica.
And then they start looking for some random person named Jessica. And a lot of people were commenting saying I tried that and it worked. So I think we're just going to try next time like she said that about something. Where's Jessica? Donde is not Jessica.
We can just look for like the imaginary Jessica. I thought it was really funny. Okay Harrison did a high rocks race.
“And this is where he went last week obviously we talked about this.”
And so we didn't say when he went because we don't ever tell you when he's gone. He went Wednesday night and he did the race on Thursday. And I was very nervous because I wanted you to finish the race. And I wanted you to like enjoy yourself and be proud of yourself. And you called me afterwards and you were just on cloud nine.
This is true. Like you and then you post it on his Instagram the photos that the high rocks had sent him yesterday. And they were there's such good photos you're smiling from ear to ear. I didn't realize how big of a thing high rocks was. We were looking up his next race last night there in Dubai London.
I mean they're it's global. Yes, so they've races in 30 countries 85 cities. So 85 races a year and 650,000 racers will participate this year. That's great. So it's a high rocks.
It's not a niche thing. It's very much like what they've done is they've taken CrossFit. And they've made it more attainable for the everyday person or athlete. And you did really good. So your time.
Okay, so Harrison is something about him. You are detail oriented goal oriented to the night before you wrote down your goals. And you studied how you wanted to do approach the race to tell us about that. So I wasn't in as good a shape as I would have liked going into the race. And so my mindset and something my dad taught me because my dad has done a bunch of different marathons.
He's done marathons in every continent. And not in our career. So the Antarctica one isn't tech is an a major.
So he's done all the majors.
Cool. But for Antarctica and this is I. I don't want to get in trouble for now sharing something new on the plot. So his plan for a 70th birthday is for our family to run Antarctica together. They have a marathon there.
Yes. There's an Antarctica marathon. It's not a major marathon though. So that's the plan for a 70th. That is.
Yeah, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. I'm down. I don't know. Ever have a chance to go to Antarctica. How do you fly there?
I think you fly from Argentina. But I'm not entirely sure. That is, but we're going to go. I should have to. That is so popular in Antarctica.
Well, like three kids by then. Yeah. Close around. Hopefully. So, so long story short.
Like I've learned the importance of having a race strategy for my dad. And it's very common, but I learned it for my dad.
“And especially important when you're not in phenomenal shape.”
Yeah. And so when to TikTok and there are just a couple really great high rocks education pages. And they called out a couple of like massive mistakes that the athletes make when the race is going on.
So the first one is people burn out after the first station.
So the whole goal of high rocks is you want to pace yourself. And you don't want to shock your heart rate. Can you explain you run? Okay. Good call.
So there's eight stations in between eight station each station. You run a kilometer. People don't know what a kilometer is. Point seven miles. Point seven miles.
So you run a total of five miles. And then do eight stations. Station one is a skier. Station two is you pull a sled. Station three is you push a sled.
Station four is burpy jump. Station five is rowing. Station six is farmers carry station seven is weighted lunges. And there's somebody there measuring when you're doing lunges that you're knees touching the ground. Yeah.
And if you mess up on anything, the penalties. Right. So if you go if on the sled pole, you go past the line and pulling. It's a penalty. And so on and so forth.
So there were a couple stations where where racers really blew them could blow themselves up. The first one being the first station, which is the skier. And the whole goal is you don't want to shock your heart. So you want to you want to pace yourself and you don't want to spike your heart. And the skier has the potential to do that.
So it's all right. Out of the gates, go super, super, super slow on the skier. So there's a hilarious photo.
“So on my day, I came 160 first out of 677 racers, I believe.”
Which is really good for not being insane. I mean, you're in great shape. But I'm not I'm not in great shape. I'm in solid shape. You weren't some of these guys in these photos.
Look like the rock. Well, I think I was in the the worst 10% shape of the of the racers there. And to place where you did's really good. So I think I placed way better than my fitness. If that makes sense.
It does make sense. But that's because you had a strategy.
I've never seen people that looked more athletic in my life than these racers.
Like at a marathon, when you look at a marathon runner, you don't think like that's an athlete. Right. When you go to high rocks, it's like, you look at these people. It's a whole, we shit. You guys look like athletes.
They were jack. Men and women. Yeah. And so I was in 611th place out of 677 after the first station. Wow.
And there's a photo of me on the skier. I'm literally the last person on like, I'm one of there's no one else in the photos on the skier. I'm like, in my heat, I was actually dead last. You're playing the long game. But exactly.
I was playing the long game and then I just got faster and faster and faster and faster and faster. And they got more tired and more tired and more tired. And yeah, I felt really good. And didn't didn't really struggle. I think my time can be a lot better.
So I did an hour, 23 minutes. And the world record is 52 minutes. Yes. I'll be at that's world record pro. So the weights are a little heavier.
But the person who won our race. I think was 58 minutes. Okay. But I think I can do a lot.
“I think I can do a lot better than the hour 23 or 56 minutes.”
I think the most important thing was.
Can we check that? I don't want to be like saying the wrong times. I think whatever. If I did just. I just don't.
We want to check it. Just he's just. Directionally that should all be right. Yeah. He's not saying this for sure.
He's just trying to remember. I think the coolest thing about it is your goal before baby. Like you set your goal in January. And we're almost a pro. And you hit your goal.
So I'm really proud of you. Yeah. I wanted to. And this race was symbolic of that. And.
Bigger picture like I loved it. The energy was amazing. Just thousands and thousands of.
Of racers were there.
And I want to do more of them.
I want to do them more solo. So I did a solo. But you can do them as a group. You can do them as so they have. The men's open the woman's open.
The men's pro the woman's pro. And then they have doubles. And then they have doubles. Like doubles men doubles woman.
“And then what's it called when you do two like different sexes.”
Like doubles men. Women. We're one's a man. So Alex is going to do it. I want to do one.
Yes. I'll need like a bit. But I would love to. I don't want to do. The problem is you've.
I would have to run and I'm not a good long distance runner. But it would be okay. I could do it. But yeah, totally. But you're.
So you're running five miles or you're running five miles. Collectively in between the station. Collectively. Collectively. So you would be good at that.
Point seven at a time. You could do that. I could do it. Yeah. So I want to do it because I just.
I loved like you were so happy afterwards. And I love vibes like that. So I would do it. The energy was just. It was just incredible.

So there's the Thursday race, the Friday race, the Saturday race, the Saturday race. So I only looked at the rankings after the Thursday race. I don't think people are going to be okay. I just don't want to film us. You're not listening.
It's up to 60 minutes is like considered elite. That's what the internet says. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I think that that that checks out. So anyways, we're on the high rocks train over here in Harrison. Love the I think it exceeded your expectations at safe to say.
So last thing. I got to say on this health situation. I've historically read that one of the best ways to get in shape is to be public about your intent to get in shape. So I tell your friends and I'm actually very appreciative to this podcast because I put it out there. I felt an added element of responsibility to like keep with it.
“How do you think that your health during is going to fare when baby number two comes?”
I'm quite. I'm accepting that it's going to take a massive step back, especially because I know that your recovery is way more important than like my situation. And so I think part of why I've been so focused on getting in shape four baby two was knowing how the dynamic, how the dynamic changes when he comes. I don't think it's going to be as drastic like when take came.
I felt like we didn't know what to expect. We I wasn't sleeping at night. So then Harrison had the full day shift, which means he couldn't really you can't really work out. So neither of us were doing any type of fitness at all until three months. We started going to berries together.
Three or four months. But I think with number two we know what to expect more. We're going to have family help more like organized family help. We're going to like make a schedule. And we're going to have the night nurse who's going to be living with us.
So I think we're going to have more hands on deck. I don't think your health dirty is going to like totally plummet. But we'll see. It's not a priority.
The most important thing is you and the babies.
But I think like I don't I don't want to get into a habit of like getting shape. Have a baby get out of shape like. And I would love for that not to be the case. But if that's our reality then that's our reality for me. My goal is to hopefully level up with the pregnancy.
This one was significantly better than tape. Like I felt better. You know still tough though, but I felt better. I felt better than I did with her. Okay, so speaking of goals.
I had a goal at the beginning of the year two, which was getting involved with the community. Can I give you your flowers? No, I and I just give them to myself. Okay. I was proud of myself because I did follow through with it.
We had we had a mommy and me dance class.
It's a dance and tears mommy me dance and tea on Friday. And it was so much fun.
“If you have it's a great idea for a birthday party.”
Like in your city if you have a dance studio and they happen to do tea birthday parties. I would do it. Number one, it was so cute. Number two, the kids had fun and the mom's had fun because what you do is you dance the beginning. And by dance it's like they give you shakers like little eggs that have shakers and then you do streamers.
Then you break for tea and then you go back in and you do obstacle course. And it was just so fun. They do a really good job with like not losing the kids attention. But it was really fun and all 100 because hello dancer here in Austin donated the entire class. 100% of the ticket sales were able to go to the Jeremiah programs mother's day initiative.
Which is just like incredible.
So now me and my friends like scene Caitlin who are who are kind of doing this mother's day initiative together. We're going to buy gift cards for the moms and they get a mother's day present. Because at the Jeremiah program the way they're all single moms. It kind of poses the question who gets some mother's day present. So we do amazing amazing.
But one on the initiative too as you alluded to like at the end of the year you talked about who you wanted to get more involved in the community. I loved it that you actually did it and it's unbelievable that you did it nine months pregnant. I dropped by the event it looked phenomenal so cute. The thing that like kind of jumped out to me on the dynamic of success for it is I feel like when you're raising money. For something like the core difference between hey I'm raising money for it.
Can you donate versus hey I'm raising money for something. We're going to provide a service in return is such a different dynamic. And so being able to go to all the moms and say hey we're doing this. If you buy a ticket you donate but you also get to bring your kid to a dance class.
It's just like a much more win win scenario than just like asking for money.
Yeah and the tickets were seventy five dollars.
“But that's what April who owns Hello dancer she said this that's sometimes they throw these tea dance parties.”
That's what she sells them for she's like that's what I or that's what she'll charge per head. Yeah for so that was the ticket price. People were happy to pay it because number one the class was really fun. It was an hour and a half like your kid was fed the kids she had goody bags. We had a little like animal to take away like you really got a bang for your buck.
And then April's the real key component here because she donated the whole thing. So she paid for her instructors like she did it all. Yeah you need a lot of moving parts to make it happen like an amazing donated like. She was a single mom. So when I called her and explained the jar my program to her she's now married to Thomas who I know was a listener.
She said I was a single mom back in the day for a period of time. And so I really understand how how much of a struggle it can be. So that was what got her something I they need to use of the world to go and then. Being the people. You know what we need.
But I loved and I and you know what I loved about April even more.
How you know I always say how you do anything's how you do everything.
She. When above and beyond for this class. Well the tables with all the. With all the sandwiches on it were so well decorated. She had a backdrop she had her staff there.
They were dressed. They were early like she I was like you put your best foot forward for this. So I really it's really appreciated it. Butper had a special outfit with money. But we're in when he had matching outfits. Yes.
Who bought those my friend Lexi. She brought them their swimsuits from Target. They are adorable. Oh my goodness. I can't believe that that wasn't you weren't or.
Never. What are what are taken when you're going to try next. Well swim lessons. So they're going to try swim lessons. And I would like to get them into music class.
Hmm. Because they love music. So I think music. That's oh no. I think actually what I think will be next is gymnastics.
They're just not old enough yet. But I think they will love the balance beam. Because dance class has like a little bit of the balance beam aspect to it. But I think they'd love it. Butper and Winnie and gymnastics on a trampoline.
They go, I will die. I will die. So these are like this year. I try to find a summer camp for them. There's not really one because they're not potty trained.
“So that's what we're doing swim lessons this summer.”
Also I think I saw this real. And it said you get one summer with a newborn. Three summers with a toddler. Four summer like it like you don't get that many they grow so fast. So that really resonated with me.
But this will be our last summer where rubber won't be like super busy. So we can travel some if we want like we should also enjoy this.
What are you going to do in your part page for one to two weeks?
Yeah, we want to do like we want to go somewhere for one to two weeks and do like some postpartum.
Hang out because then you know how it goes. We're going to get into camps. We're going to get into schedules. We're going to get into soccer practice and we're going to like be here. So you got to take advantage of this why you can.
Yeah, I was talking to our friend who we're discussing Europe with yesterday. And I just I don't think you're just going to happen. We'll see it just feels like such. Like mayhem. I don't know a part of me might make the case that I was pregnant then I breastfed for a year.
And then I was pregnant again. And I want you to take me to Europe. Kids are no kids. I don't know.
“If you want to go we're going just so we're very clear about that.”
I might also I did request my push president. I might have formal request. I can be done. I would like my ring reset as the push president. Harrison's going to take full ownership of it.
I sent him I posted my ring and suppose I won't like a thick gold band. So he's going to do the setting of that. For the push president. Okay, we have so much more to talk about than this sourdough update. Somebody asked on Spotify what's going on with sourdough.
I nailed the sourdough recipe. My neighbor gave me her starter because I needed to start over. It's a wheat rye bread. It's so good. But then somebody commented on TikTok.
Like the sourdough community. She's like this isn't really hot like. Yeah. You know what? Let me just find it.
Anyone who's a parent knows the feeding decisions aren't a one time thing. You make them again and again stage after stage. Which is why we love little spoon because they are with you every step of the way. And two often the options out there. You guys whether you're feeding a baby a toddler or a big kid.
They just don't meet the standards you want for your child.
“And the more we learn about nutrition, the more important this becomes.”
Parents are constantly asked to compromise on ingredients, nutrition, transparency and even safety. And it really makes you wonder why does it feel like there are more high quality food options out there for dogs than there are for kids. Which is not the ideal. But we want our kids to be able to eat good too. So here's where little spoon comes into play and why we love it.
The baby stage they support babies from the very first feed with baby cereal and baby blends when solids begins.
Then the toddler stage their biteables are cut to size. Let me tell you you spend a lot of time chopping up that food. But little spoon does it for you. All baby and toddler recipes are tested for 500 plus contaminants including heavy metals. And they're perfect for the tea thing years when gums are sore and soft.
Because textures then they're everything. And then there's the big kid stage and it's appetites grow. So do opinions and guess what? So does little spoon. The plates are heat and eat meals because when your kid is hungry you need food right then and that's the best part about little spoon because the food is ready to go.
And their lunchers are nostalgic better for you versions of the classics that we grew up with. They also have snacks, things smoothies and yoga snack pouches that are the absolute best because snacks are such a big part of our life. So feeding the kids doesn't have to be complicated. Little spoon makes it easy with real nutritionally balanced meals and snacks designed for every stage. It shows up ready to go takes the pressure off and somehow still gets devoured, veggies and all.
No artificial dyes, flavors or sweeteners either. And you know what? That's a win will take every time. Get 30% off your first order at little spoon.com/2 parents with code two parents.
That's LITT-LE-S-P-O-O-N.com/2 parents with code two parents for 30% off your first order.
Okay. Maggie. At mags. 26 areas. INFP.
Why are we still not bulk fermenting? Let it sit out on the counter after the stretch unfolds until it doubles in size and the dough is jiggly. Then in all caps, shape it and put it in the fridge to cold proof overnight. The entire point of sourdough starter is to give it time to eat enough to eat through the flower, which produces the gas which makes your dough rise.
This is where it gets me. Mine is well just throw a packet of dry yeast in there if you're not going to let the starter do its job. It's like a day and a half process babe. It's not a mixed in throw it in the oven kind of thing. I think I may have to depend on this lady.
I spent nine hours on the bread. Okay. Why are you defending Maggie? First of all, your tone. Her tone.
Babe? She said please. She said please.
“The wave is just like the worst thing ever.”
It's like a day and a half process babe. It's not a mixed in throw it in the oven kind of thing. Maggie. Beat number one tone. You had like three different outfits on it.
It was clear that it was many days. No, it was nine hours. Or many hours. Sorry. Maybe it was longer than that.
But there seems to be an art today.
It was 11 hours.
There seems to be an art to this. And so I agree the tone was off. But like if you're supposed to be overnighting it, should you not be overnighting it? What did the recipe call for?
I fed this starter the night before. So I did the recipe, there's two different ways you can do the recipe.
There's a million different ways you can make sourdough.
I wanted to try and do it all throughout the day. So I didn't let it sit in the fridge overnight. But I did let it sit in the fridge for four and a half hours. And my bread still tasted wonderful. So correct.
I did cut the corner of the overnight rising situation. But your message is only as loud as it can be heard Maggie. I attempted to block her because I'm from the school thought anybody can block anybody online. I just think I just think the way that it was written was very mean. I agree.
I don't, babe. No. Mine is well-throwed packet of dry yeast in there. If you're not going to let the starter do it's job. So you're on Maggie side?
Because I'm not on her side. It's okay, Grisham 22. She comes in. You're the best at all. Your bread looks yummy and it would be even yummy here if it got to rest for longer. Thank you. Okay. Come down.
No, I agree. I agree the tongue. I just, what I was trying to get up before was like, there seems to be an art to this and people seem to have a lot of expertise.
“And so you know, accepting that tips I think is helpful but needs to be done and explain in the right way.”
Jill Ellen, sourdough maker here, your technique gives me a little anxiety but great job. sourdough has very few rules and you age the important ones. Jill, thank you. That was nice. Thank you, Jill.
And like here's the thing too.
We ended up taking the pacifier. We ended up taking our child's pacifier because somebody wrote in a comment that it was so nice. Like, people have to remember online. We haven't met.
So would you walk up to me on the screen bag, babe? You're doing your sourdough wrong. Or would you be like, adorable, glad it tastes good. A couple things you could maybe adjust. So much more likely.
I've never typed that much that mags commented. All right. All of a sourdough. Are you going to ever make sourdough? I think that you've done such a great job. There's no need for me to get in the mix.
Like, at theory, I love the idea of it. But like, it very much feels like your thing. And you're crushing it.
So I do want to say something back to mags.
Also, I want to be an active participant of the sourdough community. And I want to do things the right way. I just think when it comes to online behavior, we could write things a little bit nicer. Because I agree. We could let it.
I liked AK Grishams response. I could let it rise longer. And it would taste even better. Correct. But again, the way it was a little passive aggressive on the tone.
Saying your sourdough process gives me anxiety. It was pretty hilarious.
“There's a couple of rules you must do in your ace.”
Like, that was really cute, Jill. I think Harrison should own the discard recipes. Totally agree, Jules. The crew taunts the crackers, the pancakes. Mm-hmm.
Yeah. And I'm starting to eat more carbs. Correct. Because you are the classic carbs in me tired, no carbs. But actually, that makes you more tired.
Carbs aren't energy. It's the right carbs. Yeah, it's sourdough. It's a key for me. sourdough is part of that family.
It does not make me sleepy. Yeah, right. Like some good rice is some good lentils. Some healthy carbs are really good for you. All right.
We went to speaking of, we had a sourdough waffle yesterday at brunch. Because we went to brunch with... There's two girls, Sammy and Courtney, that are... We're due, like, within a week and a half, two weeks of each other. And we went to brunch with the boys.
And it was, like, very fun. You probably saw I posted some things on my stories. I love going to eat with my content creator friends. Because I made a joke. I want to point out, I'm not even going to pull out my phone.
Because, like, there's so much better at it than I am. I was, like, just tag me. I'll just repost it. And they take so much, like, such better photos. And it's, like, more aesthetic. And I just, like, love them so much.
And we have a group, I have a group chat with them. But it goes to show being pregnant with friends. Number one, it bonds you. Right? Like, I wasn't that close with these two beforehand. And then we all announce our pregnancies.
And it's just, like, you're in the exact same...
“Stage of life is something like the exact same stage of life as somebody.”
And you're talking about, like, what are you guys doing postpartum? How long are you going on maternity leave? That's a big one with them, because they both work. Um, you know, what were the other, like, what are things... You know, some, like, are you getting a night nurse?
Or did you get a scan? How much did you baby?
Like, there's endless things you can talk about in a group text with these gi...
which is really fun. And then we were talking about after you have the babies to play dates. You just set all the babies on, like, a little mat. And they roll around together, like, it's going to be really cute. It's crazy how... It's crazy how having kids and being pregnant at the same time
can bond you with somebody. Absolutely. Um, I had a really nice time at that brunch. What was the first thing I was thinking? But the second thing is again, it's so funny when you look back at, like, "Okay, how is our friend group come together over the past year and a half, two years?"
“And how much of that has been dictated by kids and the current face of life?”
Right. And now kind of re-going through that.
And it's really... It's really amazing, because there's all these new people that are incredible
that come into your lives, that may have been there, but not in a... Not in a super close way beforehand. And so, I'm really excited for the friends that we currently have, that I know the relationships are going to get a lot closer. And then also beyond that, the new friends that we haven't even met yet,
who are meet, because we're on the same time on and going through the same facet of life. Totally. I also think this is just a very fun... Because our Fridays for the next three months are at someone's house with the kids all in an area. And that's really fun if your kids are sitting in that area. And it's really boring if your kids are either at a different age or you don't have kids.
And so, like, yeah, I think it's leaning into where we're at and embracing that. And I'm pumped about it.
It's also crazy... We're do obviously, like, one of us is do first, second and third.
And it's crazy to think if you have a friend that's do, you know, 15 days before you. But you have your baby first, although their baby is technically older, your baby could be older. And we were sitting there saying yesterday at brunch, none of us know our due date. We just know our birthdays. So, if somebody came four weeks early, none of us know that.
We just know when we were actually born. Yeah. And so it's so funny because right now it matters so much.
“You know, when are you do? How old is your baby? How many weeks long are you?”
But then we're all born. And it's like, that's actually when it starts. Yeah, one statistic I'd love to see is I think there's, like, a stat that shows NHL players in the month they're born. And like, the most common month that NHL players are born is January. This is in the tipping point, my Simon tonight. Is that it?
Yeah. What I'd love to know, and I assume the study doesn't exist. But is there any correlation between professional athletes or whatever level of success? And if you were born before your due date or after your due date? I bet not.
There's more of a correlation though with, there is something with can't, it's in the book. Like, does it matter whether that last four weeks of development is happening in the belly or out of the belly? I don't know, but do you know why the hockey players are born in the early months? Oh, yes, because then they're more, they're older for their grade. Mm-hmm, yeah.
Yeah, it's about cut-off times. But where that whole theory gets turned upside down is now the cut-off is in September. No, for hockey league, January 1st is the cut-off.
“That's why I think it's like niche to hockey.”
Or else this would be like all sports. You know, when you want something warm, cozy, and comforting after a long day, that's when we turn to goodles in our household. It's all the nostalgia of mac and cheese that you grew up with, but with ingredients that make you feel good, you guys.
Goodles has Chettie Mac, Shella Good, Twist My Palm, here comes the trouble, and they're all so delicious, and they're branding is cute.
Like, we go to the store and take always goes over and points at their branding.
Every serving of Goodles mac and cheese has protein, fiber with prebiotics, and vitamin and minerals from real plant sources. Almost all Goodle products are low glycemic index, so you get steady energy instead of a carb crash, which has been amazing for me, having the pre-diabetes,
because this stuff you can still eat, and all I crave is just like comfort food, just like this. There's something for everyone with amazing variety of flavors, including vegan and gluten-free options. So if you're dairy free, Goodles has something for you.
It's time to get some Goodles for yourself. I know you'll love them as much as we do. Pick up Goodles mac and cheese and pasta on your next shopping trip. Available nationwide at Target and Walmart, plus many other major grocery stores and retailers.
Okay, we're going to go to our bicker of the week.
This is one we're not a house divided on, we agree.
But I saw it online, and I thought, okay, it's an interesting topic. If you bail on a trip, do you still pay? For example, you bail close to the time. So let's say there's four girls going on a trip, and you're splitting two hotel rooms,
and everybody knows what they're paying and flights are booked, and then the week before one girl has to bail. Do you still pay your portion? We say absolutely yes. Well, I want to provide some details on this.
Okay. You pay your share. The minute the hotel is booked. The minute accommodations booked. Okay.
You don't pay your share. So let's say four people are going on a trip, and the hotel is booked. Then you owe 25% of whatever that accommodation is. But if you bail before it's booked,
then it's on them to readjust the accommodation. Right. Right. They can instead of doing two rooms to one room, maybe get the room to be larger, or do an Airbnb, or whatever it is.
So then it goes to the one I want to hear your thoughts on that.
“But then two, I think the second question is,”
at what point is it appropriate to bail on a trip without it being rude? I agree. I think if you bail, of course if things are booked, you have to pay your part. Yeah.
Because in this scenario, you're bailing the week or two before, and I don't think it's fair to like just stick a friend with the tab. But I think it's okay to back out before anything's booked. Yeah. And so that's also the double dynamic.
It's not rude if you're bailing the boards booked. It's rude if you're bailing after everything's been booked. Yeah. I agree. Correct.
And the delineation of being booked, the definition is either accommodation or flights. Right. And one person booking. Yeah.
And anybody's booked. Because it's tough. That's not qualified. If you booked the restaurant reservation, but you haven't booked a hotel or the flights doesn't count.
But it's tough if people think I'm going to owe, you know, $400 for the trip, and then boom, their suck was 650. I don't think that's fair. Yep.
“So I do think I do think that that's okay.”
So we agree on that. That's a very easy one. Yeah. Does anyone not agree on that? On this video,
I can't remember who made the video. People were like, it was 70, 30. Yeah. I don't thought that was like a little crazy.
Okay. And that's it. Guys, we will talk to you on Thursday. What about paradise? Yes.
Paradise. That's not it. Okay. So we watched the first episode last night. Okay.
Hold on. Before we get into this. I want to clarify some ground rules. Okay. When we talk about TV shows,
are we going to be a spoiler? Are we going to be a spoiler? Is this something that we're going to talk about under the assumption that you've seen the episode? Yeah.
I think so. I also it's boring. Okay. All right. So the thing about paradise is the second season just came out.
So people are talking about it again.
We had never seen the first season.
So we're starting from scratch. We just watched the first episode. This is the first time that I've watched something without knowing remotely what it was about. I thought it was a reality TV show. Then we started it.
And I quickly learned. This is not a reality TV show. The first episode was amazing. Yes. So I have a hilarious kind of side plot story.
Okay. One of my TikToks. I'm going to bunch of different TikToks. It's like I'm on movie/show TikTok. Where I get snippets of movies and shows.
Do you guys get this? Yes. But the algorithm is they used to be great. Like you could do part one, part two, part three. And like I would watch full shows and movies on TikTok.
Now you're only getting a studio. You watched the Wii work documentary on TikTok. Yes. But now you only get a snippet of them.
“And because I think it's all being done by I and she can actually watch anything.”
I saw the snippet of him finding the president dead. And I was just like, wow.
This show looks incredible.
And I had no idea what show was. And I like hit the comments. No one clarified. And once they came, it wasn't there. So it was like a huge joy of relief for me.
If that's the right thing. When I was like, oh my god, I've been wanting to watch the show. And so it's great. It's good. So overall, I loved the first episode.
Why don't you go first and then I can add into it? Well, I'll say this. What I thought I was watching. The only thing I had to say about it. What I thought I was watching for the first 80% of the show
was just a regular guy. I thought they were maybe in Monocido guarding the presidents. You know, like the president had obviously retired. And then this was his bodyguard. I did not realize we were living in a mountain underground of Colorado until the last three minutes.
Which now changed what I think I'm going to be watching this season. Like now I understand paradise. It's its own little community.
That changes everything for me.
It's a plot twist. Yeah. Which I would have known if I had seen a commercial. Yeah. So I love.
I'm, I'm in no previews. No trailers type of person. I want to know nothing going into the show. Number one. Number two.
I love that we got the twist early on. Okay. It's great.
Well, late, very late in the first episode, but early on in the season.
The season. Number two. Number three.
“The key to a good TV show for me is believability.”
And the way they set up the first episode incredibly believable. Where they will lose me is if it gets unbelievable. If it alien comes in. Exactly. Right.
And I do believe in aliens. I do believe in aliens. I just don't want to like. I can really get comfortable with the way they've drawn this thing up so far. Same.
I'm excited.
I need to think it could happen in our lifetime.
And I don't think we're dealing with this whole alien situation in our lifetime. But we're in a meaningful way. However, we've lived through COVID and we've lived through Waymo. So I'm starting to think anything can happen. Yes.
“I think we're going to live through flying cars.”
That's all that to say. Like the other day, I was yesterday. I was walking to the park. And there was three Waymo's on our street. That was it.
There was no other cars. And I was like, this is crazy. Like those are all self driving. And I wave at every car that walks by with my manners. And when Waymo's go by, I don't wave.
That's rude. Well, I just think it's a real loadoff to not have to wave. They're just like, who is this lady not waving at us? No, I just look at them. I think, oh, look at that.
No waving. Um. Okay. So. So.
What are you doing? We're going to wrap up here. We're going to wrap up. Um. You're making some notes.
Harrison's making some notes. Okay. So that's our thing on Paradise.
How many episodes is the first season?
Eight, ten, twelve. I don't even want to know this. Okay. Great.
“Because I, here's why I don't even like to know how many episodes are in a season.”
Because if you know it's episode, if you know it's eight, you're waiting for some big conclusion in the eighth episode. Okay. I'm good with that. Great. We don't know.
And we don't need to know. All right. Thursday, we'll at least have watched one more. Thank you for listening. Thanks for listening to another episode of Two Parents in a podcast.
