With your host, me, Julia Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.

Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. Today I am joined by you guys as we get to hear

your wildest spring break stories. From people getting banned from hotels to hookups that never

should have happened. To horrific injuries, needing immediate surgery, exotic pets being transported across the country, I haven't heard of that before. We will hear it all. Let's get into it. Okay, so first I'm going to share a little bit about my spring break. So I actually most of my spring breaks, I would go meet up with my family. I know boring to me, not just getting my family so fun. But our senior year we all went to

Cancun, and I remember it was SDSU people and bolder people, and it was crazy because like

everyone was like in relationships or had broken up senior year, and then like all the bolder people were hooking up with SDSU people, and there was just like drama, and it was really entertaining. I was actually so over the whole time because I had like a bunch of health issues.

At that time, so I was like watching it all happen, and it was crazy. But that's basically and of

course like, you know, people, a lot of course, but people were like cheating on their girlfriend, who didn't come on the trip, and like all this stuff. And I remember it just caused like mask chaos. But anyway, let's jump right into it. So our first caller we have is Savannah. Hey, Savannah. Hi. How are you? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. Thanks for coming on. So I heard you have a little story for us. How was about your first word? You heard the school.

I went to school in Texas, and I loved it. It was the best time. So I missed it all the time. So fun. And then what did you do for spring break? I would say I did like two actual like college spring breaks. Okay. Freshman and senior year, I did like the crazy spring break where you like do it through like just call it. Just call it, yeah. That's a real did it. And freshman year we went to South Padre, which is like so gross to be honest. No,

it honestly is, but I mean, I feel like college spring break. It's like, okay, where can you get like the

Cheapest for like the best?

that trip, all the guys with host parties at their houses, like the frat houses that they rented in South Padre, like every single one got evicted every single one. So they want to stay at the girls house. So I had like a 13 person house in South Padre. And then we ended up having like 13 boys join us. Like from house. Honestly. It's like the whole thing. Such a spring break story. Yeah. And then where was your other one? Senior year I did Cabo. Okay. sophomore year a lot of my friends

went, but I had a wedding to go through. So I missed out on that one. Okay. But got to do it senior year. I would say it wasn't like as crazy as I feel like the iconic sophomore year, Cabo, which

is at my school. But it was still really fun. And like to experience it, I'd never been in

Cabo's just like me and go back and all the things like it's just a cool experience. Yeah, but yeah, really fun. It's so fun. Do you have any like crazy stories that pop out that you can think of? So sophomore year my friends did the whole Cabo sophomore year spring break trip, which I missed out on. And one of my friends had been dating her boyfriend for about like a year I want to say.

Okay. And they were going to like one of the DJ concerts. Like iconic spring break. You have to do it.

And I want to say it was dip-low like such a good one. Like I would have died to go to one of those in Cabo. It's like sounds like a dream. And obviously I'd been a long day of like day drinking because you just booze all day. And at the concert her and her boyfriend got in like a screaming fight in this like EDM DJ concert. And he dumped her in the middle of the concert. With in Cabo surrounded by everyone. Everyone's been drinking broke up with her and they're on

this spring break trip like together. Like that's horrible. A lot of my friends like kind of like had boy friends like in the same fraternity. So it's very like connected. And he literally broke up with her in the middle of the concert. That's so crazy. Yeah, college relationships are so like unpredictable.

Yes. I mean, even me and back with my college. But I love I love that. But you never know what's

going to happen. And boys are just so immature at that. So immature and I just feel like drinking on spring break like especially by like the last day. Everyone's like crazy. Just fights always erupt. And all it's like a bender. It's you do not stop, especially if you're on spring break. Spring break is never break. Yes, never break. It's like how crazy can we be? How many DJs can we see? Yeah, you little need a break from the spring break. Yeah. But yeah, so I was of course getting lots of

calls for my like calm wedding. Yeah. Spring break that I was on. But yeah, like they had to like see each other the next following couple of days obviously. So did they stay like split up or did they

did I? Okay. Honestly, at least they were like done and it wasn't back and forth. Yeah. I mean,

I've personally think there was like convo's had, but yeah, it was pretty much like done after that. I think that was like the breaking strawberries. Like, oh my gosh, I ever got broken up with and dumped out dip low. Don't don't don't don't. That should be like there we go. So that dumped out. Don't

to upload. Yeah. So that was a free break. I know. She's like, but we needed up and we had an incredible

senior spring break. Okay. In cobbled and it made up for what was going on. Exactly. But yeah, it was really fun and spring breaks just the best. She still had spring break. Clearly, can we have it back? Yeah, a little work spring break. So awesome. Okay. Well, thank you Savannah for coming on. Thank you for having me. Yes. Have a great rest of your day. Thank you. Okay. The next person we have is Tiffany. Hey, Tiffany. How are you? Hi. I'm good. How are you? Good. I like want to call you Tiff.

I know. You can't go for it. So what school did you go to? I went to the University of Nevada,

Reno. Okay. And did you go on spring break like parties trips? What did you do for spring break?

There. Yes. I feel like we opted for Tahoe a lot because it was so close. Yeah. So how far is it from there? Oh, it's like a 40 minute drive max. Oh, that's awesome. So easy. And a lot of people have lake houses up there. So it's super just like easy going and bow drink a lot. Yeah. It's ideal. I deal college and Tahoe. I love that. Did you? Do you have any like specific spring break? That was that crazy like insane or have a crazy story from it? Yeah. I was just one of those people in

college where I was like let's just drink as much as possible. Yeah. Blacked out one too many times. And that happened during spring break. And what I remember is like it was like a bunch of the sorority girls, a bunch of the fraternity boys. Yeah. And we were all riding those little like bird scooters. Oh, no. And I literally like one of the guys, you know, he was just being like trying to show off. He like jumped and landed on the scooter. Like jumped up landed on the

scooter. And I was like, I can do that easily. So I jumped fell complete. Like literally face

Planet onto the asphalt.

And I was just like, I can do that too. Like, yeah, let me do it. So I did it face planet. Like, there were just bruises. And like, just I scraped my knees. Like I was wearing jeans. I remember I burned like a hole through my jeans. And that was at the beginning of the trip. So I had to do like boat days and stuff after that. I was like hiding myself because it was like your face okay. My face is okay. Somehow. Okay. They're faces. I know, right? Like let's crop everything

below the face. Oh, it was insane. Was it like road rash all over? Oh, yeah, it was so badly bleeding. Just like inhaling very some too. I was like in on a bird scooter sense. I can't say I have. Honestly, at least like it was just like that and not worse because I've heard that really bad stories about being a bird scooter. And even like in college, I remember us going because at SDSU, they first they had these like bikes that were called ophos. So we would take those

around. Right. But then they had bird scooters in the line. And I remember like I was never on

it alone. It was always like me and a girlfriend or like me and a guy like taking it to the next party. Like going to the next place. It was not for like a singular person on it. Oh my god. So I've shocked that like honestly nothing ever happened. So like any of my friends. But

you hear like crazy stories about them. It's you should not drive not drive one. I guess ride one

when you're drunk. Oh my god. It's my PSI type. Everyone's like rough. Everyone out there if you're on spring break. And there's bird scooters. Do not ride them drunk. Yes. There was somebody else. Yes. Exactly. One time I accidentally loaded. It was like 200 credits worth of I forget if it was bird or lime on to my like app. And I when I was drunk. Of course. Obviously. But then I was just like sack with it. I ended up using it all, which is kind of horrible

that I used it all but anyway. I was like how did I do that? But so did any like sense you guys. You said most people had lake houses. Did anyone did like were they parents like houses then? Yes. Did you guys ever get like did the parents ever kick you guys out or did anything bad ever happen? Surprisingly no. I feel like the parents house is that we did go to. We're chill about it.

Yeah. We're just like oh yeah. It's fine. Like my parents would never. But some of these people

they let their kids do free for all. So never gotten trouble there. I feel like we definitely had like you know noise curfew though because it's a tall hoe like need to keep it down after a certain like time. But yeah it was it was honestly so fun. I'm like I wish I could go back and do it again. Right? There's nothing like a good college free break honestly. For sure. And being with all of your friends where I'm actually I'm going to coach Elvis here and it's with my whole

college friend group. Oh my god. It's gonna be like reunion. I'm like kind of feels like spring

right. You should treat it like spring right? Yeah that's so much fun. I think there's like four

houses between all of us. Oh my god. We're just gonna be having it time. I honestly feel like I'll go the first two days and I might not make it the third. Our bodies can't handle it. I can't hang like I used to. Oh no. It's kind of depressing honestly. I know what. I'm like I wish I could go back to those days. Yes. It made bad decisions but at least right now. If I live and you learn exactly makes for good stories. Oh my god for sure. Do you have any other crazy stories from spring

break? I mean not that I can think of. I feel like that one I really went all out because I just broken up with a boyfriend. Yeah. I was one of those situations where I was like let me just go crazy.

Yeah. The other one as you should. Yeah. The ones were like also drink a lot but never got

myself into too much trouble. Yeah. That's great. Yeah. Okay. Well thank you for coming on. I was great chatting with you. I was good chatting with you too.

Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?

Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Wag Gettin change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory. I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on no grip. A Formula One culture podcast that

dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport. In each episode a different guest and I will go deeper into the Wag Gettin Miss Haps scandals and sagas both on the track and far away from it that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

I'm Bailey Taylor and this is Ickel.

the streets of New York over the years. Well I've got good news. I am bringing those interviews

and many more to this podcast. Yes we will talk about the style and the success but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations and the real work with the women shaping culture right now.

As a woman in the industry you're always underestimated so you have to work extra hard and you

have to push the narrative in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity. You know I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Each week I have unfiltered conversations with female founders, creatives and leaders to talk about ambition, visibility and what it really takes to build something meaningful in the public eye. Because being an Ickel isn't about the spotlight it's about owning it. I think the negatives need to be discussed and they need to be told

to people who maybe don't do this every day just so they know what's really going on. I feel like pulling the curtain back is important. Listen to Ickel with Bailey Taylor on the I-Hart Radio App, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. You know Rold Dal, the writer who thought I bully Wonka, Matilda and the BFG. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories? I musta been. Our new podcast series, the secret world of Rold Dal is a wild journey

through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary controversial life. His job was literally to seduce

the wives of powerful Americans and he was really good at it. You probably won't believe it either.

Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you. Okay, that was a spy. Did you know Dal got cozy with the Roosevelt's? Play poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman and then he took his talents to Hollywood where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock before writing a hit James Bond film.

How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever?

And what darkness from his covert past seeped into the stories we read as kids? The true story is stranger than anything he ever wrote. Listen to the secret world of Rold Dal on the I-Hart Radio App, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Flagrant and Funny. You look at the top four number one thieves. What do you think

UCLA is going to do breakdown that for me, my friend? Obviously, you kind of see overwhelmed favorite in this tournament, but I'm the honest. I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to you con and that right after that would be Texas. Essency is so deep and so they can just about everything. I really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU. Only once I could possibly upset you con.

On Flagrant and Funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments the conversations everyone's having, so whether you're bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament, we got you. Listen to Flagrant and Funny with Carrie, Champion and Jamel Hill on the I-Hart Radio App, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of I-Hart Women's Sports. From I-Hart Podcasts and best case studios. This is

Worshack, Murder at City Hall. July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons and in less than 30 minutes. Both of them will be dead. And have everybody in the chambers of dogs, a shocking public murder. A scream get down, get down, those are shots, those are shots, get down. A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time. I still have a weapon. And I could shoot you.

And an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was effective flat down. That may have

been not have been political, that may have been about sex. Listen to Worshack, Murder at City Hall on the I-Hart Radio App, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, guys, we have our next caller here. Zoe. Hey, Zoe. Hey, thanks for having me on. Oh my gosh, thanks for coming on. So where did you go to college? Okay, so I, I will, I'm currently a senior at UCLA. And I just literally just got back from Spring Break and, no way,

breezy thing happened. I was on, so it was on my senior Spring Break and Costa Rica. Costa Rica,

I've never heard of people going to Costa Rica for Spring Break in college. I feel like

especially because we go to school in California. And I don't mean to sound like just because I

Grew up in the Midwest.

or like going to Mexico is a big deal. Yeah. But I feel like because Mexico is so close, we did that

are freshman year. Okay. And then from there, it was like, well, we can't go back to Mexico if we go. We went our sophomore year and then like, and we all went abroad junior year. And so we were like, where do we go senior in a bunch of friends? We're decided to get like Airbnb is in Costa Rica. Okay. So like me and my whole group of friends, my story decided this year that like, we were going to go to Costa Rica and then just so happened that there were other groups

in our from our school and then also in there. I feel like, and you know that's like you went to SDSU, but I feel like in California, once some school start getting an idea, the other ones, if they know people from there. Yeah. And like that typically happens with Santa Barbara,

the UC Santa Barbara, and then Cal Poly because they always have the same spring break as

us because we're on quarter. So whatever, ended up being a bunch of California school kids down there, which is really fun. But I just got back and there was a lot of wildlife in Costa Rica. And I hid you not. So I opened my suitcase yesterday and I'm unpacking when you got back. Yes, back in my college apartment, and there is a snake. Like I literally have a video bit, but there was like a snake how big it was like this. I mean, probably like less than inch thick, but then thick,

yes, but you're going to say like long. But then long, like I don't know. I did. I had no idea what to do with it. And you are kidding. I opened, I was unpacking things and I don't know how a snake got in my bag. Like we stayed in like a pretty secure Airbnb. And like I, I literally have no idea

how I got back and how I took a plane. Like I don't know, I would freak out. What did you do?

Well, I, I mean, I didn't claim it on my customs sheet. So I don't know. I don't, I'm, I'm like, I'll go back to my hat. Where did you put it? Did you grab it? Did you touch it? Okay. So I did do anything with it. But I called like Los Angeles Animal Control. And they told me when they showed up to grab it. Like to get this, I, I did do anything with it. But I am not someone who's scared. I don't know. I grew up when a summer camp like, and I would see wildlife a lot. Like,

I not, so you scared of it. No, I did not grab it. But I'm not, I wasn't like running away. Yeah, it was like, okay, there's the snake. And my mind goes to, it's just like a garden snake. But then like, animal control showed up. And they're like, oh, this is a venomous snake. And I don't know how you got this through TSA. Yeah, that's crazy. Which is, like, so crazy. But anyway, so, that's, I want to check, like, what if it would have bet you? Um, I, I didn't like, my mind is

you want to go there. I was crazy that it, it, it showed up in my bag. No, that I was crazy. We're all your friends, like, freaking out. Like, if they had something in their bag, they were almost freaking out. But then more, like, people were wanting to take videos of it and post it on TikTok. Yeah, like, this is going to go viral. You said you have a video? Yes, I did. I need to see. Okay, way, I'm going to show this to you right now. I feel like I'm going to have nightmares.

There's no way. You see that. There next to my, learn it next to my flip flops. You are kidding.

But, but, but the animal control said it was venomous. So that is crazy. Is that in the tub?

No, that is in my suitcase. What if it would have like went out of there? Did you zip it in there? I don't, I don't know how it crawled in there. I, like, I, I had taken my stuff out of my

clothes. I know, I, I never go out of the kitchen. I had taken all of my clothes out of my suitcase

and my toiletries and everything, like, unpacked because there was, um, we were in an Airbnb and there was a place to put my dresser and every, like, stuff in my dresser and everything. So it wasn't actively using my suitcase and then I didn't, and I do, like, when you were packing, like, went away for a second, just psych slithered in there. I don't know if it was in my Airbnb. That's, that's crazy. That's crazy. Um, okay, to make matters worse, I have another sword.

Okay, let's hear it. And this isn't happening to me, but it happened to my friends on the trip. Okay. And I think this is a PSA to people or just any girls listening, particular, but anyone, I would not recommend doing an Airbnb in a foreign country.

Oh, definitely do not do that. That's what we did. We did Airbnb's and I would not recommend that

because I just, I don't know. I, like, I've heard too many things go wrong and what happened to my friends. So they were not saying we were staying in Tamarindau, which is like a, like, a, like a beach town in Costa Rica. And then I friends who were saying, like, more towards the jungle. And

They basically, the first night, they were there.

like a sliding glass door that goes out to the door or whatever. Wasn't fully locking.

And they had just gotten in from their flight. It was really late at night. And they, like,

flagged at the Airbnb people. They're like, hey, this is not locking. This needs to be fixed night. And the people with Airbnb were super nonchalant. Like, oh, no, no, that happens sometimes, like, you're totally safe. You're totally fine. Yeah. And so that sparked some suspicions. And then it was literally an Airbnb full of, like, 10 girls. And in the middle of the night, they woke up to somebody at the, they, they thought, maybe it was multiple people. They didn't know. But

there was literally someone in their room at the foot of their bed, rifling through their bags. That is terrifying. And you know, and I know everyone in that moment thinks they're going to like perk up and say something in the person in the room. But if it's pitch black, like,

you didn't first their first thought was, oh, that's a, like, yeah, there's an animal that

because it's pitch black in the room. They think, oh, that's like an animal that's a, there's a monkey in our, like, there's something that's fine. And it was no, it was a person who had gone in into each of the rooms and it taken phones and passports of people, like, of my friends and in this house. And that is informal. People had had, like, phones that were like next to their head and, like, terrifying. And so did they just freeze, like, they were so scared.

Yes, some of my friends were so, you don't know, like, like, weapons, either. So that's terrifying. Exactly. And so some of my friends slept through it and then some of my friends were, like,

texting each other while stoned by, like, trying to, like, almost, like, just pretend like they were

asleep because they're, their, their hope was like, okay, these people are just going to steal some of our stuff. And like, yeah, we'll be okay. Because they didn't even know what to do with the police. And they call the police in the police and show up until like three hours later. That is so scary. So I would definitely recommend. They're all okay. Yeah, I feel like people really try to do, like, the cheapest options possible. Yeah. And so how are you going to foreign country? But if you're

going to a foreign country, especially if you don't, you know, like, I don't, I just, I don't know. Like, if you don't, I really hope so. You can't kind of deal with it. Yeah. Whatever, like, go to a, like, secure, or don't do anything. Where there's security or something, the Airbnb situation. Yeah. I mean, that just, like, really freaked me out that that had happened to my friends. And we were all there. And we were all, like, do we go home? But they stayed not in the Airbnb, but they went to a resort, but they think it was

maybe like an inside job with the Airbnb because they were so non-general. Exactly. That's so crazy. Well, so anyway, so glad that they're all okay. Little traumatized. And I'm spring break this year. No, literally. I'll be traveling for a bit. Yes. And I'm glad the animal control came and got your pets. I know. That is, like, God out of crazy. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Okay. I'm sorry. All that happened on spring break. But I'm glad you're here. And okay, and that your friends are okay. Thank you so much

for coming on Dirty Rush. Cheers, Daisy. Bye. Bye.
