[Music] A shocking, public murder. This is one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City, politics. [Music] A scream, good-down, good-down, those are shots.

I doctor the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Break a recipe and I could manage any. My mind was blown.

Welcome to Dirty Rush, the truth about Sir Arty Life.
With your host, me, JJ Dice, Daisy Ken, and Jennifer Pessler. Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. Today, we are getting your wildest spring break stories. Okay, we have our next caller, Monica's here with us. Hey, Monica. Hi, Daisy. So great to meet you. You too.
So where did you go to school? I went to University of Arizona.
“Oh my gosh, I bet you have a crazy story.”
I went on a spring break trip in Aspen with my sorority sisters. Okay. And you know, like recently or what? Like my senior year. Okay. We're day drinking out of bar, and there was a DJ. So of course, you know, DJ, day drinking, just having kids are high.
When you're drunk, any DJs and mates? Right? A signature, especially if there's like a good saga. Yes, like you throw heads up and you feel like you're in the moment. So that happened. So again, in the moment and not giving anything about anything.
My best friend got up on a table. And of course, it's an elevated surface. Yes. We love elevated surfaces when you're drinking with a DJ. And she slipped and fell off the table and she cracked her head open. Like bad, bad, very bad.
And so all of us, you know, girls are like, we just band together. We were like drinking and it's like, oh, we have to go support each other. But we did. And eight of us sorority sisters gotten in Uber with her and took her to their emergency room. Just everyone showing up drunk that's like an emergency emergency room's worst nightmare.
I guess she's already hurt. And they're all playing. It took so long that we played Truth or Dare in the way to room. And she ended up getting staples in her head. And she was okay.
And she was okay. She was okay. She rallied on from that moment. Did she rally on? No, we took her when she started bleeding.
Yeah. So then, you know, we went to the emergency room. And yeah, she had to wear like, uh, around it and for the rest of the trip. Did she have a concussion?
No, no.
She was totally okay. That's good.
She rallied on afterwards with her rap bond.
Nice. Yeah. She was the rest of the trip, right? Yeah. I mean, Aspen's great.
So, you know, it's too fun. Well, get nothing like worse happen. Exactly. Exactly. That's great.
Because did you go? Did you usually go to Aspen for spring break? Or did you go in the room? Yeah. Typically do like the Mexico stuff, like the cobblestone.
Yeah. Okay. You said that you went to cobblestone. Yeah. So, but you were sober during the spring break.
Okay. So, that was actually in Cancun. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
“Was that that was intentional because you weren't feeling good?”
Or was it because? Yeah. I was on like a bunch of medication and stuff. So, I couldn't drink for like eight, nine months. Wow.
So, we're like basically, I was so we're basically my whole entire senior year.
Oh, wow. Which is crazy. Yeah. Because they're in college. I learned so much.
Like I had all the tea, all the gossip I knew everything. Were you like Mama Daisy taking care of everybody or the D.D. And like, no, I was kind of just like watching everyone. It's like you're a fly on the wall. Yeah.
Everybody with their drug behavior. Yeah. Because everybody's truth comes out. So, I'm sure you heard everything. I heard everything.
I'm sure you were like, oh, you told me that last night. Yeah. Yeah. I don't remember saying that. And spring break was crazy too because like it was just like a mix of schools
and people were hooking up with other people. And like, I somehow was like, I knew everything. And then I would wake up and like D.D. with all my friends and be like, wait. The Daisy reports.
Yeah. That's cute. Yeah. But like, you know, this guy hooked up with this girl last night. Now he's looking up with this girl.
The next night. Yeah. It was crazy. Oh, my god. Oh, my god.
Oh, my god. Did you go to cancun every spring break? Or did you do the trip every spring break? Well, we went. So I usually went with like my family because I had like your siblings.
So we would all meet up over spring break. But I went to or actually know one year we went.
I went to Arizona for the first half.
My brother went to ASU. He's your older. And then the second half we went to Newport. Mm-hm. Is one of our friends had a house.
California. Yeah. That was freshman year. sophomore year. And like, what do we do?
sophomore year. I don't remember what I did. Mm-hm. And then junior year. I think everyone went to Cabo.
Mm-hm. And I didn't go that year. And then senior year we all went to cancun. Cancun. So which one was your favorite?
Honestly, you probably cancun. I mean, it was really fun. Yeah. Cancun's a place to be. Yeah.
And Cabo and all of that for spring break. Yeah. It's like a hub. Yeah. That's cool.
That's fun. Well, that's crazy. I'm glad that your friend was okay. Yeah. And it wasn't worse than it was.
I know.
“I think also it's like when you're in that mindset,”
you just want to rally because you're having so much fun. Yeah. You don't want anything to ruin. It's kind of spring break of what it's supposed to be. Yeah.
It's like a party and have fun. Being responsible. But, you know, we're kind of letting loose. You know, for sure. Like earlier somebody said,
I didn't want everyone around you. Yeah. And it's a fun vibe. So it's like, you don't want to ruin that vibe for anybody. And go home early.
Yeah. And like you're going home when you're like, Oh, sorry mom and dad. I cracked my head open. Yeah.
You know, so it's like kind of just keep going. But, you know, she was fine. Everything was okay. Yeah. You know, so she did rally on.
But she was cautious. But she was good. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm glad.
Yeah. Okay. Well, thank you so much for coming on. It was great talking like the old. You too.
[MUSIC] I'm Lori Siegel, a longtime tech journalist. And consider my new podcast mostly human. Your bridge to the future. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur.
Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future. And we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you. What I come to realize is that when people think the day of dating these AI
Companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be messy. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment.
Mostly human, we'll show you how. My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit. The reason I say agency is because, like, if you can give power back to people,
“then I think that's part of the best thing we can do for your mental health.”
Listen to mostly human on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] From I-Hard podcasts, and best case studios, this is Worshack, Murder at City Hall.
Could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest. Both men are carrying concealed weapons, and in less than 30 minutes.
Both of them will be dead.
[MUSIC] Everybody in the chambers of dogs, a shocking public murder. A scream, get down, get down, those are shots, those are shots, get down. The charismatic politician, you know, he just bent the rules all the time. I still have a weapon.
And I could shoot you. And an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was effected a flat down. That may have been not a bit political, that may have been about sex. Listen to Worshack, Murder at City Hall, on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. [MUSIC] I became a millionaire overnight, but lost everything that actually mattered.
“When a minute soviet, did you just say he lost everything?”
That's right, it's an aridding too much drama week on the okay storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. But this person writes, "I just inherited a fortune after losing my mom, and now my girlfriend's entire family is coming out of nowhere with their hands up. One sibling wants me to fund their whole lifestyle.
Another vanished for four years and suddenly reappeared, and my girlfriend is already giving my money away." Hold on, soviet. So the girl he wants to marry is already sending money out the door. And that's just the beginning.
He makes a plan, sets up a trust, and finally thinks he has everything under control.
Okay, so things work out then? Let's just say the people he trusted the most are the ones who ended up shocking him the most. So does the money end up being worth going through all that? To find out, listen to the okay storytime podcast on the IR radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
[MUSIC] In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckard found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth.
“You doctor this particular test twice in selling stress?”
I doctor the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Some like the greatest disinfectant. They would uncover a disturbing pattern.
Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Olespie and Michael Marancini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is LoveTrap.
Bora, Scott State Police.
As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.
Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news out of Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until Justice has served in Arizona. Listen to LoveTrap podcast on the IR Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
“Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?”
Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Waga Getting change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman. And these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on no grip. A Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under explored pockets of the sport. In each episode a different guest tonight will go deeper into the wacky mishaps scandals and sagas both on the track and far away from it that have made F1 a delightful,
decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the IR Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay guys, we have our next caller. I'm here with Grace. Hey. Hi, Daisy. How are you? Good. How's it going? Good. Thanks for coming on.
Yes. Absolutely. Do you have any crazy spring break stories? Okay. I kind of really think of a great one on my own.
But I have one that I love about my sister. That's amazing.
So I went to the same college as my sister. And she was a freshman or no, she was a sophomore at this time and I was a senior. Okay, fun. And we both kind of split out first spring break. I went and did something with my friends. And then she went to Coba with all of her friends. Okay. And a couple weeks.
I want to say a couple months prior to this. She had started telling me like, there's this boy in my accounting class that I think is cute. I don't know how to talk to him, whatever. So she goes on spring break. And the first half of spring break we did our own thing, the second half we met up with our family.
Oh, that's fun and Coba. Yes. Oh, I love that. Yeah. It was a really fun plan. And kind of got the best of both worlds. But she comes back to our family and she walks into this lunch. The first time we see her when she arrives.
And she is like floating. We're like, what is going on? What happened to you? She's a county boy and she goes, I'm not a boy.
We're like, this is too drama.
But tell us about it. She's like, it's the boy from accounting. We made eye contact at squid row. And both walked up to each other long story short. They ended up spending the whole entire trip together, merged to their front groups. A bunch of like the guys like to the girls that she was hanging out with.
That's cute. They had like such a fun couple of years. She has the best spring break ever. That's spring break ever. They're still dating to this day. No way. Two years now.
Now that's amazing last weekend. I went back to Cabo with my family and he was invited. I know when we got to the box. We got to the box. Can't you have an encobo, you guys?
I think this can happen. That's good. You guys are good things.
This is not always good thing.
The manifest it.
“But yeah, I think it's just such a funny story.”
Because it also needs them. The manifest is cute. Don't you can be in a drama she borrowed. But it's really happy spring break story. She like manifested that.
Like telling you about this. I know. I know. Honestly. I love it for her. They walk.
I contact it. Squid row. Squid row. That is like so cute. Did you go to Cabo all for four years for college?
No. My first year I actually went to Florida with some friends. I went to us Palm Beach, which was fun. And then one year I went to California to visit some of my friends who went to different schools like USC and Santa Barbara. Yeah.
And I did kind of like a week in California, which was fun. So fun. Cabo one year. And then actually Cabo twice. Nice.
Yeah. Spring break should be like mandatory for like all periods of life. I know. It was fun to go this past weekend with my family because both my younger sisters are still in college. So I got down like many spring break.
That's how I went to that. If they're where they're like friends still there. Yeah. Some of their friends were still there. We got to hang out with that.
It was really fun. And I mean, I'm so jealous.
“I'm like, can I get spring break back to your point?”
Yeah. Man of the toy. When I have kids, I'm like totally crashing their spring break. I'm going to be. I'm going to be.
I think you should. Well, thank you so much for coming on. Of course. Have a great rest of your day. Bye.
Bye. Okay. We have our next caller. Mari is here. Hello.
I can't wait to hear your spring break story. We've been having so many great stories. So where did you go to college? I went to Cal Berkeley. Oh my gosh.
So cool. I feel like we've had. We've had quite a few people from there that I've been on this podcast since we've had it going. But where did you go for spring break? So the most memorable one was our senior year.
And it was like obviously like so exciting. Because we all know we're graduating. Yeah. We all decided to go to Cancun. Okay.
That's where I went for my seniors. I love it. It was so good. It was so fun. And I was so excited.
And it's like the first day there.
“And of course we've been like working all spring to get beach and bikini ready.”
And go have fun.
And stupidly I did not think about like I had never been to Mexico and tried all the food and the different.
Yeah. So I did everything wrong. And I was having salads and drinking water. That was all bottled. So like day two, I wake up.
So nauseous. I was like. Yeah. I didn't even drink that much. Like how can I be this nauseous.
What is wrong with me? It turned out I just got some like food poisoning. The food poisoning. Yes. So they like by day three I was not getting better.
And they called the hotel doctor. I didn't speak Spanish. I took French and college. Yeah. She comes in and he has a needle.
That is probably like four inches long. No. Yes. And the nice friend of mine who was helping translate was like. He needs to do it in your backside and your butt.
So he gave me this huge shot. I have no idea what it was. But did it help? It made me feel better. Okay.
That's amazing. So were you just down for like a day? I was down for like three days to like up the shot. I know. I know.
So here like I was so you know how you envision. It's like perfect great. And then like when you're feeling that sick like all you want to do is be home and bad. Exactly.
Exactly. Exactly. So I learned like I guess the trick is you take Pepto in the morning and the evening. Just two one and then. Yeah.
Don't like drink tap water. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Did anyone else get sick? No.
I was the only one. Just you. Just me. Yes. I'm sorry.
What a way for your senior. I know. You're right. I'm so sorry. I know.
It was definitely memorable. Yeah. Definitely. Definitely. Memorable.
Yeah. Do you have any other? Sorry. Is it all from college? I feel like there was just so many fun ones because later.
That a few nights later when we are there. Like one of the bars in Cancun. I don't.
They had like a dance contest and one of my friends was like this amazing dancer.
No way. She fully won.
That's amazing.
I've got them free shots and free.
We love spring break. I know. I know. She was up there and just so into it. That's so fun.
“Well, thank you so much for coming on the vibe.”
Thank you for having me. Yeah. You too. Thank you guys for tuning in to dirty. Rush.
If you have any crazy spring break stories.
Make sure to call in and let us know. I know now is the time for spring break. Also be safe. Have fun. Bye guys.
