natal charts, and how to step into your most vibrant life. And today, I'm talking with my dear friend,

Christian Williams. It can change you in the best way possible, dance with the change,

I'm Clayton Eckard, in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. But here's the thing.

Bachelor fans hated him. If I could press a button and rewind it all, I would. That's when his life took a disturbing turn. A one-night stand would end in a courtroom. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. A great a date mean, but I'm also suing you. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young, listen to love trapped on the iHeart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

What if mine control is real? If you can control the behavior of anybody around you, what kind of life would you? Can you hypnotically persuade someone to buy a car? When you look at your car,

you're going to become overwhelmed with such good feelings. Can you hypnotize someone into

sleeping with you? I gave you some suggestions to be sexually aroused. Can you get someone to join your cult? NLP was used on me to access my subconscious mind games, a new podcast exploring NLP, aka neurolinguistic programming. Is it a self-help miracle, a shady hypnosis scam, or both? Listen to mind games on the iHeart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 1969, Malcolm and Martin Nagaron, America, is in crisis, and a more house college,

I'm Hans Charles, our mental equilibrium. Listen to the A-building on the iHeart Radio App, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcasts. Hi guys, welcome to an all-new episode of legally brunette presents, a till death do us part. If you have just started listening to this and

you hadn't listened to our first episode, it's on Betty Broderick. I had so many people DM me

after we did that episode. Like what? Like about what? Well, a lot of women, and this is what we talked about with Betty Broderick where I was saying, remember she had a hung jury. I was saying the reason she had a hung jury is because they were women on that jury who sympathized with her, even though she brutally murdered her husband and his new wife. I'm telling you, there were women that were like, I got it. How many of those jurors went home and started smacking their husband

around? You were a fire, you're assistant. Exactly. So I'm just saying it's a very interesting case. So if you guys haven't had the opportunity to listen to it, please do. Also, you can find this please follow Lee Libranet and you can find us anywhere you listen to podcasts. So today, until death do us part, we are going to discuss the very famous case of Chris Watts and Shenan Watts. So the Watts family murders took place on August 13th of 2018 in Frederick, Colorado.

There's a Netflix. Yes. Special. It's a few years old, but it's still relevant. And if I the entire documentary or video is body cam footage and security footage and Shenan did a lot of back in the day vlogging and Facebooking. So it's a lot of showing that side of the family

and all that. So I remember when I watched it a number of years ago, I found it fascinating

that it was like you were watching real footage, not interviews, not after the fact and you were almost following it in order real footage. So anyway, it was probably one of the best documentaries that I've watched because it's just it's not put together with new production. It's just captured footage and they put it together and that's great. The Netflix documentary that Shane is referring to is called American Murder, The Family Next Door. Worth watching. It is very

good. And it also reminds me of the Susan Lawrence case, which was all that's when she shot her neighbor, Philly, shot her neighbor, remember the Susan Lawrence, the crazy neighbor that confident I would say this. This video was better in the sense that it was more like you're watching it. And like that was a little bit chaotic because there was people running around. There was a lot going on. Body cam footage only captured like some parts. This is like almost like

there was drone footage everywhere capturing everything but the murders. Well, and the fact that

Shanan was a vlogger and covered so much of their intimate day-to-day life fa...

added in so that you got an inside where you was like what was going on in her mind and things. That makes it really good. The family murders took place on August 13 of 2018. This is in Frederick, Colorado, and resulted in the deaths of Shanan Watts who was also 15 weeks pregnant at

the time. She was pregnant with a boy and her daughter's Bella and Celeste. And their ages?

Four and three. Oh. Three and four ages. Three and four. The case drew widespread attention, particularly after investigators uncovered that Shanan's husband and the father to the girls had been involved in an affair and had given inconsistent explanations about what had happened.

Ultimately, Christopher Watts, this is the dad confessed to killing Shanan during an argument

about the relationship and smothered the children and an effort to cover up the crime. He also initially lied about that, too, but I'm sure we'll get to that. So let's just do a little timeline background. This is 2010 to 2015. So Chris Watts and Shanan roofsick were connected through Facebook after he sent her a friend request. They got married on November 3, 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina. They later settled into a five-bedroom home in

Frederick, Colorado, valued at around 400,000. I also read that they both worked and that she worked in an MLM. She was like sales, sales, but it was an MLM. And he worked for a petroleum company

or something. That's why how he knew where those tanks were and tanks and stuff were. But combined,

they made about $100,000 a year combined. Oh, the good old days. The good $400,000 house, $100,000 dollar dual income. Yeah. Well, that's not the good old days. This was 2018. Now the one was worth $8 million. I don't know. Chris worked as an operator at Anodarko Petroleum and Shanan worked as a sales representative for Lavell and frequently traveled for business. Their children was Bella. But she was also a very much stay-at-home mom.

Why sure about the kind of sales job that allowed. I didn't want to take that away from her.

She was always according to the vlogging. She was always with those kids.

Right. So their children were Bella Marie Watts, which was born. She was born December 17, 2013. You know what I read that when I was researching this case, you know, Anobell was born in 2013. Do you want to ask me a question? Yeah. No, I didn't ask you. I'm telling you. Anobell was born in 2013. So in my mind, I was thinking Bella would be turning. You were kind of putting yourself in that time. Yeah. I was thinking this child would be turning.

I always do that. Every time I see a date, I look for the dates of things. I like to see where was I when that plane crash happened or what was I doing. I do that, too. But I think what struck me is Anobell just turned 13. So you found it more relatable when I saw that this child was born in 2013. I was thinking, oh, she would have been 13 this year, but she didn't make it 13th birthday.

Celeste Catherine, who they called C.C. was born July 17, the 2015, which is the same year. Our boys were born. And Nico Lee Watts, which was the unborn son, Shanan was about 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. So they claim that the couple, oh, the couple did was having financial troubles, which I'm sure added a lot of stress. So in 2015, the couple filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy stating they had about 448,000 in debt.

I mean, that's a lot of debt. When it's more than what your houses were, that's a lot of debt. Yeah. They reported significant debt, despite earning close to six figures combined. And their financial issues included mortgage costs, car payments, medical bills, and other liabilities. Then we get to the summer of 2018, Shanan frequently shared family life on Facebook portraying a loving household centered around their daughters. She would publicly share her love for

her husband claiming he was the best thing to ever happen to her. It's actually very sad to see that,

you know, when they show that in the documentary, I've seen posts that she's made on Facebook about what an amazing husband he is and what a great dad is. Kind of a question. If that's if that's true, if that was her point of view for all those times she was posting those videos right. But if not, then you kind of wonder, like, how much is it like what I want to look bad on Instagram, I don't look bad on Facebook or whatever, you know, you kind of want to keep this

lifestyle. Maybe I had to do with her sales. Like, she's trying to get more, you know,

people are trying to form, yeah, or wishful thinking, or wishful thinking. You never know.

That's why it's hard to know when I always feel like when couples post a lot on post the highlights. I always feel like when couples post a lot on Instagram or Facebook constantly about like how happy they are. It always makes me wonder if they are happy they are. Right. Because I never post about us and shame. It would be a lot of self-incriminating evidence if you posted stuff about us. Also, Shane is probably the only person on TV who doesn't have social media. He actually does

Have an Instagram account.

maybe? Yeah, I think the last post was when I started the show. So that would have been back in 2018 too. I don't know. Because then I'll post something and then you'll be like, why do you post this? Why don't you post that? Why do you like to know how to stop posting? No, but I will tell you,

I bet you have, you go look at your Instagram right now. I bet you have 8 billion friend requests.

Oh, probably. Well, they're not really my friends. I think it's like what is he doing over there?

On June 11, 2018, Shane and surprise Chris with news of the pregnancy. She recorded the whole thing and posted it on Facebook. He seemed more in shock than happy about the news. We're probably having it a fair at that time. So when she tells him that she's pregnant, he's probably like, now how do I, now that's going to be an extra murder charge. Okay, just hold on. Okay, was flash. My last post was November 25th, 2020. Oh, 2020. You posted it in 2020.

I posted that three daughters and I said, I'm grateful for my daughters to have each other, to create memories and support one another. That's cute. And that's tag gift thanks. Oh, you did a hashtag? Well, that was a church thing. They asked us to start posting like seven days of gratefulness. Oh, and you posted once. No, that was the last one I posted. Oh, okay. Can you tell how many people? Do you can tell how many front requests you have? No, no, I can't spend time doing that.

June 17th, this is Father's Day. She publicly praised him in another social media post, but behind the scenes, friends began hearing that the marriage was experiencing tension. So there you go. I think she's putting up a brave front for her followers and Matt and, you know, probably, and you can't fault her. I mean, she's not going to go on there and talk about, you know, it would be so crappy. There's anything. Right. So in June of 2018, Chris began communicating with

co-worker Nicole Kessinger. By early July, the relationship had become physical. Kessinger claims that Chris told her he was nearly divorce and later claims that they were so finalized. Nearly divorce is

not dating material. Yes, I agree. That's a red flag. They always say that. If someone,

this is the other one, we're not sleeping together. Oh, yeah. We haven't slept together for a long time. We're sleeping in separate bedroom. And we're nearly divorced. Right. Or would you see other for the kids? But we don't pay any attention to it. We're just like roommate. Right. Yeah, I think those are all red flags. Like just, yeah. But please don't call my main number. This is murder phone. Right. This is murder number. Yes. But text messages between the two of them

don't support the story. Chris claimed he was going to leave his wife for her, but he provided no evidence that he was actually doing it. At one point, Kessinger asked if they were bad people, which allude, she was well aware of this being an affair. During this time, this is June to August of 2018. Shenan and the girls were out of town in North Carolina for six weeks without Chris. Oh, man. He just had a heyday for six weeks. He had six weeks. She was gone for six weeks.

I would with without children, right? No, she took the girls. So he was a bachelor. He got to be a bachelor for six weeks. He didn't have to take care of his kids and he had no wife around. Are they hiring? Can you apply to this place? Apply to what place? I don't know. So you

me gone for six weeks. Would you like me to leave for six? So I'm happy to leave for six. If that's what

you want. With kids. That's fine. You know what's right around the corner from our house? The Ritz Carlton. I will be happy to check in. No, a difference of code. It is not a difference of code. I know. I want you to a difference of code. Text messages between Shenan and Chris show increasing strain in the marriage. This is during this time when I don't know if she went out of town for work. She was gone for six weeks. It probably was her work. I'm not going to falter

anyway. Oh, she went. Well, she's from. I believe she's from North Carolina. It looks like she went back home. But without the, oh, no, with the children. Yeah. Okay. Well, then you know what? If she went with, oh, you know what? Did she, did she separate from him on purpose to take a break? Oh, I don't know. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe that rings a bell. I mean, maybe there was a lot of tension in the marriage. I want to go home and like touch grass. Maybe she needed to be around

family. She took the girls with her, you know, so maybe she needed a breaking under her that

term touching grass. Touch grass. You never heard that. She was touching grass. And he was touching.

Yeah. He was touching Nicole Cassinger's booty. Yeah. Cassinger's phone data later showed she searched for wedding dresses in early August. So this is very similar to Lacey Pearson and Scott Peterson. Did he date Amber Friday? He was like, oh, yeah, we're kind of getting divorced. Oh, yeah. He said something to explain him being a single person. Then he, he also called her and said he was embarrassed. And he wasn't. Remember, he's like, oh, it's so loud. We're embarrassed.

But Scott Peterson's a whole other world. I've had so many people that have some dating advice.

They have to be divorced. Like, you need to ask for a final divorce decree. Like, get on the

courts website, put their name in. You can do a search. Pull it up. Look at it. You women out there. You got to do your due diligence. There are too many red flags.

In 2023, a story gripped the UK of looking horror and disbelief.

in charge of caring for tiny babies is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history.

Everyone thought they knew how it ended. A verdict, a villain, a nurse named Lucy Leppi.

Lucy Leppi has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the whole story?

A moment you look at the whole picture in the case, collapses. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast doubt, the case of Lucy Leppi, we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it to ask what really happened when the world decided who Lucy Leppi was. No voicing of any skepticism are doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level of the British establishment of this is wrong. Listen to doubt, the case of

Lucy Leppi, on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, this is Joe Winterstein, host of the Spirit Dutter podcast, where we talk about astrology, natal charts, and how to step into your most vibrant life. And I just sat down with a mini driver.

The Irish traveler said when I was 16, you're going to have a terrible time with men.

Actor, storyteller, and unapologetic, aquarium, visionary. Aquarius is all about freedom loving and different perspectives. And I find a lot of people with strong placements in Aquarius, like our misunderstood, a son, and Venus in Aquarius, in her 7th house, spark her unconventional approach to partnership. He really has told me to embrace people sleeping in different rooms on different houses and different places, but just an embracing of the isnness of it. If you're navigating

your own transformation or just want a chart-side view into how a leading artist integrates astrology, creativity, and real life, this episode is a must listen. Listen to the Spirit Dutter podcast, starting on February 24th on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you listen to your podcast. Clayton Nackard, and in 2020, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor.

Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first bachelor to ever have his final

rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show? Made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand, and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agreed to date me, but I'm also so suing you. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before.

I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of he said she said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. I'm done nothing to get rid of the mess. Listen to Love Trapped on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What if mind control is real? If you can control the behavior of anybody around you, what kind of life would you have? Can you hypnotically persuade someone to buy a car? When you look

at your car, you're going to become overwhelmed with such good feelings. Can you hypnotize someone into sleeping with you? I gave you some suggestions to be sexually harassed. Can you get someone to join your cult? NLP was used on me to access my subconscious NLP aka neuro-Englisted programming

for your brain. It's about engineering consciousness. Mind games is the story of NLP. It's crazy cast of disciples and the fake doctor who invented it at a new age common and sold it to guys in suits. He stood trial for murder and got acquitted. The biggest mind game of all NLP might actually work. Listen to mind games on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So on August 13th, 2018, this is when the murders take place

around 2 a.m. Shanan returned home from a business trip. She was in Arizona. She was driven home

by her friend and co-worker Nicole Aconson. Like her best friend, I think. Yes, they're very close.

Like I think, you're probably getting into it. I think that friend knew of their marital. Oh, I would say that. That morning Shanan missed a prenatal appointment, which was unusual for her, and this raised red flags amongst her friends and they knew something was very wrong. So then Nicole Aconson, this is her best friend who dropped her off at that morning, went to the house and contacted police. That friend, yeah, was like her actions were a key part. Oh, yeah, it is

Conviction.

so fast that this idiot didn't have time to clean anything up. To do anything to prep for a missing

wife as he was going to soak in. And kids, a missing wife and kids, right? Yeah, not missing personal belongings. Just her and the kids just vanished. Another case. Yes. We're like the person phone we're left. The car is there and she just vanished. Right. Because she had some affair and she was so in love that she's like, I don't need a person or a phone. We're underwear. I'm just going to lay right now. Oh, I'm out of here. Yeah, it is. Just like Susan Powell, right? Yeah. So Nicole

Aconson went to the house. I believe she went to the house. I was knocking on the door and I think didn't she try to get in through the garage or something. I mean, she was very diligent in your right. She was like, there's something wrong. My recollection is she's notifying. She's raising awareness like immediately. She should, this is not right. Right. I know she had concerns about their marriage like she was suspicious. So that came to her mind. So then she, she goes there and then

the police arrive. Because she called the police too. She calls the police. She calls the husband.

He, he basically, like, I got to run a funeral and then I'll be there in 20 minutes. Yeah.

And I think he didn't say that. But I mean, that's how stupid he is. Like you're going to be

it. You should be there in two minutes. How long it takes to drive straight away. And he even said, if I remember correctly, like, I'll, like, don't do anything. I'll be there in a minute. Right. Don't go in. Exactly. No, I think he was telling that to a plate. Like, don't go anywhere. I'll be there. No, no, no, you don't need to break the door down. I'll come in like that. And I'd be like, break the door. I'm doing whatever you gotta do. That's fine. I'll fix the door. So then he

arrives and there's all on great footage. Yeah. He arrives. And he's like, act trying to act cool with the cop like shaking his hand and being, I don't know what's going on. And he's, and he didn't

want to go through the garage door. He went through the front door. And then it took a number of

minutes to go through the garage and open the garage door for the police. Right. So then it's like, what did he do? He probably didn't do anything. He's just so stupid. He probably was just pretty confident. He was like, yeah, he was probably thinking of what to do. All right. Or what he opens the door and lets him in. He just acts like everything's like, he's shrugging at everything. I don't know. I like, yeah, he's the only car. I don't know. It was very sketchy. He's a

rival and is opening the house and allowing the police to do their job. And then there's body camp footage and walking through the whole house looking for everything. Yeah. Hopps and everything. So inside the home, officers found Shannon's purse and phone and keys inside her car in the garage and her wedding ring on the bed. Also, I think the bed wasn't made. The bed was gone. Right. There was like a fitted sheet still on the bed. But I believe the rest of the bed is no

commerce. Right. Because we will learn later that he raised that transport. Right. Chris claimed that he left for work around 515am and did not know where his family was. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI joined into the case. Investigators discovered evidence of Chris's affair. This is interesting because I've seen the interrogation. Have you seen it? It might be in the documentary, but I also watch other videos of just YouTube videos. Yeah. I've had an

adversity. Yeah. I'm having interrogated. I mean, I don't know how stupid you have to be to sit in

an interrogation room with police officers and just flat out lie about having an affair. Like, when you have text messages on your phone and also co-workers called the police and told them about the affair. When they disappear, or defend strategies, you're going to have. I also believe and I'm not sure of the exact timing, but Nicole, the woman he was having an affair with called police and said she was having an affair with him. Yeah. So they showed up front about everything. Yeah.

She was like, I didn't know, you know, I mean, she's probably nervous. She doesn't want to be nervous. No, I'm really saying the interview. She was pretty, she had pretty much the tone of like, I don't know. He's apparently a creep. I got no idea. I don't know anything to do with this. I got no part in this, but she provided all the evidence, all her phones, everything. Right. But I don't know if you, but they're walking through the home. This is important. They're walking through

the home and the, you know, the cops are doing their work by looking around and he was not so much. He was kind of stalling. He was walking around. He was sweating. He wasn't really like trying to find her. Right. And then, and then every time something would come up, he just shrug. Like, oh, I don't know, we're waiting rings there. Oh, I don't know. And, and the cops were kind of winking at each other. Like, this is cheating. Yeah. Then the cops, this, one of the cops makes a

false, like, uh, call out on his walkie talkie and says, and just makes it look like it's suspicious. And he did that purposefully to get a reaction out of Chris Walker's room and react.

And he got more nervous. I don't remember what he called out, but he called out something to

make it like, this is suspicious behavior. Yeah. And so he, he, like, jerked to the side and looked

At him and they got all nervous.

Let's look around. Right. And then his excuses are, well, she likes to go to the park and they're,

like, without her phone without her, like, without her shoes without her car. Right. Oh, well,

she said she was going to go swimming at the community pool. And they're, again, they're like, without a car. Right. Doesn't make any sense. Right. Okay. Let's talk about the, so my favorite part of the entire documentary, if you watch this is when the police suggest that they go to the neighbor's house. Well, they start knocking doors. Right. Because they're, because they're, they're asking for footage to right. You have. So they go next door to the house directly next to them. Right. And they ask the neighbor,

if you've seen anything or anything, and that doesn't the neighbor say, hey, I've got, he's like, I got footage. He's like, I got security footage. The issues with his truck or people

taking his junk or whatever. So he put footage video surveillance on his driveway for himself.

But then in the corner, in the back top corner, you could see the lot driveway partially, partially. Right. So you couldn't see, like, you couldn't see at all. You could see like three

quarters of the driveway. Right. And so they, so he's like, yeah, I got footage. Like, let's look at it.

To see if we can see her leaf. Right. But this is my favorite part. Because not only does he say, let's look at it, but he puts it on a big screen. Oh, he's got like a sports bar. Right. And he's got remote and he's all the cameras. Maybe like, I don't know how to figure out my login. No. I don't know if I can get on my phone. It would be for ever. This guy's like, no, he's like, here, let's put it on the big screen. Yeah. Yeah. So then you have footage like because of the cops,

body cam footage. You have footage of the big screen TV. Yeah. And he's he's rewinding and kind of fast forward and to get to the point of time that they're looking for Chris, why he's pacing is standing next to the team and wedding bullets. He has his hand on his face all the time and he's pacing. Right. He doesn't know what he's going to see. So then what we see is his truck backing up into the driveway and going kind of close to the garage, or partially in the garage. So the beds

butt up against the garage door. And now you can't see the activity. And then you see him a little

bit going to like the driver's door. You don't see any bodies. You don't see anything like that. You see him moving her. And then he's like, oh, I was taking my toolbox that was getting my lunch. And then he kept explaining how his like his toolbox was heavy and like all these details that don't matter. Like who cares what's in your toolbox? But he just say you did this and then you drove to work. Right. But he was nervous. And then the cops like, okay, why don't you go back to your house

and and give a report to my partner, blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. And then the cop in the neighbor. The neighbor was like, dude, that guy was shady. Because I don't know if you saw that, you go something's wrong with that guy. And he was like calling him out. And the cops like, I know. I know. I know. I know. Yeah. He's like, I know. I know. I know. I tell you though. That's my favorite thing because it is real time footage of a man surfacing who killed his wife and two children. The

night before and is now standing in his neighbor's living room. I'm not knowing. Not knowing what got picked up on the security camera when he put the bodies into the bed of his truck. And it is about to pop up on a big screen TV with a cop standing there. And this man is literally about to crap his pants. And you get to see it. And it is great to watch him because he is. And then that neighbor surfaced like cool because he was like, dude, he goes, that guy is shady man. Something's wrong with him. You know, also,

that I don't know if you picked up on, but before the security camera footage pops up on that big screen

TV at the neighbor's house, first there is a commercial which shows a baby in a womb. There's like a

commercial and I has like a baby. It shows a baby in like a woman's TV screen on his TV screen, which is very odd because shenan was pregnant. Then after that, it shows this weird scene from like that show American horror. You know what I'm talking about that show American horror, whatever, something like that. But anyway, it shows a dead body like a skull in an oil pit, which is it's all very, very odd that that pops up on the screen, considering what we know

happened to them after he removed the bodies. Anyway, I just wanted to just put that into your mind so that if you're watching the documentary, it's not legal evidence. It's just very odd, and it's very coincidental and it's very strange. So anyway, if you're watching the documentary, look for those things. Look for a Chris Watts about to lose his mind and look for the commercials that pop up on the screen before the security footage comes out. Every call is, now he's like the

press is there and he's doing like press interviews. Like, oh, please, please come home. We, you know, I miss you and it was so like fake. Yeah. I mean, he was just saying like, please come home. I love you and it was just so eerie because he was so fake. He couldn't even like, pretend to have

A mother.

It's very much like Josh Powell, just like in no emotion at all. Yeah, because Josh called didn't, I don't remember our press interview or he was doing that. He talked a little bit, but he had no emotion and he didn't participate in like looking for her or anything. So Chris Watts could take into the police station. You can watch the interrogation. There's question, they question him. He gets caught and lies. He says he doesn't have an affair. He also later fails a polygraph test.

But I believe he fails it. Like, apically fails it. Well, I didn't know that. Yeah. He said,

we have a female that took it. I remember when then she was just like, she tried to build rapport with him. Right. But she knew it was him. Because I think there's like footage of the her talking to another investigator and they're just like, they're just calling him out. Like, he's a crooked he's murderer. So then he asked to speak to his father. Right. He wants to have that sit down with his dad. Yeah. And I think cops know like, let's bring in a family. Right. Because they're hoping

to open up. Right. So he talks to his dad and he admits to killing shenanne. But he also, this is

his first story. Well, let me give credit to the father. Because a father was like, come clean, dude.

Yeah. He had the tone of like, now's the chance. Let's just do it. Let's do it for them. Like, he had wind of his son knowing something. And he did the right thing by getting him to, yeah. But his first confession was not entirely true. He confessed to killing shenanne. He said he wanted to divorce or something like they got in a fight about the relationship. So then she got mad at him and went and killed the girls. Oh, yeah. And then he killed her because she killed the girls.

So that was like his first story. Right. He was like, you know, they like they had a fight about divorcing and then she got pissed and then she went and smothered the girl. Like, if he saw her smothered the girls, he couldn't have. He was a pretty strong dude. Right. He's a big guy, right? Right. In fact, that was the thing. He started to work out. Right. Because he started to look good. He had the mistress. Well, I think then he got the mistress. He started, he started to kind of work on

himself. That's why I don't go to the gym. I try to avoid temptation. I'm, thank you for that love you.

I appreciate it. Thank you. So that was his first story. Then he eventually comes clean and admits that he killed shenan and he also killed the two girls. So finally, Chris admitted to the murders and told investigators that he put both of his hands around shenan watts neck and strangled her at their home.

He said his wife never fought back or screamed. I don't know. Was she asleep? That must have

been because she came home at two in the morning. Well, then he has another account later. He says that they had sex. Oh, I didn't know that. He does. Yeah. And then she got heated or something. They got an argument. And then he's strangled her. Whatever. And he couldn't he blacked down. He doesn't know he couldn't control himself. But then all that stuff. He couldn't control himself with the two daughters either. Right. Then he says his four-year-old daughter Bella walked into their bedroom,

holding her blanket and asked what was wrong with her mom. He told her that shenan didn't feel well. Chris dragged his lifeless wife down the stairs as Bella watched and began to cry. He backed his truck into the driveway. This is what got caught on the security camera of the neighbors, right? Because they get a they have the security camp catches him backing into his garage. And then going back and forth. But you don't see what he's doing. Because one is on the far

side of the truck. Right. So you can't see anything. You don't see the end of the tailgator. Anything

to see what he's loaded around. They also claimed that it was strange because he said he'd never

seen him back his truck into the garage before. That was like a first. Yeah. Then he kept saying how his toolbox was like he wouldn't stop with this toolbox. I was like, okay, dude, you put your toolbox in the truck. Like, so he backs his truck into the driveway and put his wife's body into the back seat on the floor board. He put both daughters and the back of his truck on the

bench seat. Both daughters not yet dead. That's an important detail. Although it's a frightful

and disgusting detail. But at this point, he has not killed the children yet. He killed the wife, put her into the bed part. Now then the wonder, did he then kill the children because he wanted to not have any family or did he kill the children thinking like, they could test them out or think so. I don't know how to care for them or at like, I don't know. So from their house, he drives away and he drove to the oil site where he had worked because you know what he talks about how he

worked for that oil company. And during the ride, his daughter's dose off and on and laid in each other's laps. That's really hard to think about. At the oil site, Watts told police that he took Shenan Watts body out of the truck and laid her on the ground near where he ultimately buried her. Bella and Celeste were in the back of the truck and asked him, what are you doing to mommy? He doesn't remember what he told them according to his report. He buried Shenan and their

unborn son in a shallow grave, then he strangled Bella and Celeste with a blanket and hid their bodies and thought, I don't want to talk about it, but he did one and then the second one showed

Fear and said, why are you going to do that to me too?

that those last words like haunt him every single day like he should. That's they should,

but I'm just saying like that's where it comes from. He admitted what it was said. And then another thing and then he puts him in these above ground tankers. He climbs like a shoot or something dumps him down a shoot and like I think as gruesome as is, you really have to shove them down as far as the size goes. So he was really wanting this to happen and then when they found out where she was buried because he eventually comes clean about a lot of things. She was very far

from the tankers, the tanks and he said because he didn't want her, he was so hateful towards her, he didn't even want her near the children. Oh, so even after their dead, he's still vintage.

That's why they put him on together. How did he lead police back to worship? Did he eventually

lead police back to where? I think I think his truck had, you know, tracking and they saw where he went and then I think they questioned the area and they were surveilling the area for

shallow graves and I don't remember if they found hers first or if he ended up admitting what happened,

but he eventually explains what he did in the order of events. And they do find the body and the children. In 2023, a story gripped the UK, evoking horror and disbelief and nurse who should have been in charge of caring for tiny babies is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history. Everyone thought they knew how it ended, a verdict, a villain, a nurse named Lucy Leppi. Lucy Leppi has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the full story?

A moment you look at the whole picture of the case collapses. I'm Amanda Knox and in the new podcast

doubt, the case of Lucy Leppi, we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it, to ask what really happened when the world decided who Lucy Leppi was. No voicing of any skepticism are doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level of the British establishment of this is wrong. it didn't go according to plan. He became the first bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected.

The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show? Made even bigger headlines. It began as a one night stand, and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Chris Watson's charged with multiple counts of first degree murder. He also gets additional charges for unlawful

termination of a pregnancy and for tampering with deceased human bodies. I guess that's the transportation and bearing. I'm throwing them an oil tank and all that. On November 6th of 2018, he pleased guilty to the murders. That is an exchange for not getting the death penalty. The death penalty.

Actually, the death penalty was not pursued by shenan's parents. I think they believe they made

some type of statement that another death wouldn't. They didn't see that as any more justice than just luck. I mean, although I'll tell you, I looked up if Colorado had the death penalty because I wanted to know immediately when we were going to talk about this case. Because you know how we talked about with Brian Coberger in the item or case. If anyone deserves the death penalty, it would be him. So why the prosecution took a plea deal? Yes, you could say the same here then. So why did the

prosecution allow him to plea out? Well, you know, I also, when I was looking up the death penalty and Colorado, Colorado used to have the death penalty. It was abolished in 2020. But this happened in 2018. So he would have been eligible for the death penalty at that time. And I believe they abolished it in 2020. The governor did. But I don't think it was retroactive. It was only. And then they were like, well, no, I don't think it can be, right? Just the opposite, true, too. If you

do something that's not a crime and then later it becomes a crime, they can't retroactively do. Right. Right. So he would have been a because this occurred in 2018. So at that time,

he would have been eligible for the death penalty. I believe I guess maybe the prosecution

allowed him to escape the death penalty because the other, because the family on the other side said that they, I guess they weren't interested in pursuing that. So you mentioned that one away in 2020 makes me wonder too if they were kind of scaling back like they knew like like the death penalty was not a thing among the justice system there anyway. So maybe they were kind of not really oh, yeah, that's true. We're going to be pursuing that. Kind of started the legislation to abolish

it prior. Yeah. But anyway, not the last, he gets life. So in November, 19th, 2018, Chris Watts was sentenced to five life terms without parole. He received additional decades for unlawful termination of pregnancy and tampering with the bodies. And Shenanne's parents filed a wrongful

death lawsuit the same day. You know, I never understand. I mean, he's in life. He's, I mean,

he isn't prison for life. The wrongful death lawsuit against him. What is the expectation of that?

Maybe he has insurance and it's not, you know, obviously they would money isn't going to replace the kids. I mean, they need something just to try to be able to do things to, you know, for the memory of their grandchildren or who knows what. It's also like like the OJ Simpson thing. It's like, well, what if one day he has a windfall, then we can collect. Oh, you're saying it's a lean basically of something. Yeah. Okay. So then in December of 2018, Chris Watts gets transferred

to the Dodge Correctional Institution and Woppon, Wisconsin for safety reasons. I don't probably

because when you're a child killer, I've always heard that there's like a hierarchy, right, in prison,

and that I don't care how hard and of a criminal you are, there's like no, there's no, they don't tolerate child molesters and child abuse or child killers. Kind of a hierarchy. Right. And in a way, the hierarchy serves the purpose of people thinking I'm not as bad as you. Like I'm in here, but you're a piece of crap. Right. Like, yeah. So there's like saying it's like, yes, it's, um, so then he's in, like, solitary or protective or something. Right. Because I don't care how

hard and of a criminal you are, and if you're on death row, but if you murdered, you know, like it's, I don't know, you murdered another man or, or something, then it's not, that's not as egregious. But you can't, or murder a cop. Right. You know, it's like, okay, but you cannot murder children and you cannot sexually abuse children. You cannot molest children because then that's what? And I'm sure they've all watched the documentary, so they know exactly who it is. Although

No exactly who it is, you're right.

he admitted to killing his daughters and described the events in detail. Then in November 18th, the 2019, he was ordered. This is the civil suit. He was ordered to pay shenanigans, parents,

six million, and a civil judgment. The ruling prevents him from profiting from the crimes.

You know, also, I just saw something recently because I was researching this case before we talked about it. He also has written many, many letters from prison. And I, to women, he has a lot of women, he pent pals. It's those, you know, we talked about this in other cases, and especially when we did Wade Wilson about, you know, the women that just, I don't know what it is, but, you know, they want to be pent pals with this guy, and, you know, he's looking to have another wife, he'll

probably get married at some point. I mean, there's a women out there that are, you can't have a logical visit though. No, but usually if it's life, because you know, the whole point of a

logical visit is to have sex. No, well, that's what happens, but what's the purpose? Well,

why do they allow it? Why do they allow it? Yeah. To keep their prisoners happy? I don't know. Oh, yeah, because they're in the business of making the prisoners happy. Yeah. No, it's to help them give them purpose and something to look forward to to getting out. So, logical visits aren't just in, like, a cell. Sometimes they'll have, like, a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a part of it. So the idea is, hopefully they can kind of look forward

to having this family, this union and things like that and go out. So if you're in prison for life without the possibility of parole, then screw you. I mean, what's the point of trying to get you to those? Right. So you're saying the logical visit is to inspire, like, beyond your best behavior, you can get out someday. This is what life is like. Yeah, then, and then when you get out, then, hopefully, you have the relationship with someone and you can move in. Here's this

little sample of a letter. He wrote, it says, "I was a good husband and father things happened, and I am no longer a good husband and father, but I am still a good man." He's become very spiritual. I guess he reads the Bible every day and he writes a lot of things that are religious and spiritual, but he doesn't have remorse and he doesn't take accountability. He calls women and a lot of these letters that he writes that go to other women or whatever

he's writing to. He blames his mistress. He calls her a harlot. He calls her a whore. He blames her. He says she like kind of duped him into her. Yeah, like she was like, you know, the she's the mastermind. Right. And she's a harlot, and you know, whatever he did. And so he writes a lot about women and he calls him a lot of names and he doesn't take a lot of remorse. He doesn't have a word struggling, then. Well, is he struggling or is he just like with with reality? Like with

what he did and his mistress and the choices he made and he's blaming the whole women, you know, community or whatever. Yeah, there are hores and harlets. You ought to pose as a female and write these

people and see what happens. See what it's like. That'd be a whole other podcast. That's what

that should have made. Should have right-wayed Wilson and see what happens. She said, okay, I don't know. I know. You might inspire me to do that. I'll do that with my free time. But you

know what's interesting. When you think about it. Yeah, the answer is going to escape and knock on our

door. Yeah, I know. I think, forget that idea. Okay. The interesting thing is that the fact that this man is spending all this time being spiritual and reading the Bible and that his takeaway is still to take no accountability to show no remorse. Well, he's probably maybe the spirituality is justifying like I am a good man. It's not what he just said. He says I'm a good man, right? But to take to to be to spend that much time reading the Bible and to be spiritual and to not take away any

accountability from that. It's just the hores and harlets. All right. So the case has been the subject of multiple media portrayals in January 26 of 2020. Lifetime released a dramatized film about the case. I'll tell you, I'm never a big fan of dramatized. I don't really like reenactment. Yeah,

but I mean, body can footage. I like body can footage too. I mean, I'll watch them because you can always get

so this out yet or it's coming out. It came out in 2020. Did you watch it? No, I did not watch that. I didn't watch that. I won't watch it because there's a whole, you know, you watch the real deal. Right. And then it's like watching a cover band versus the real band. Right. I'll see the real band. Exactly. So the real band came out on September 30th of 2020. Netflix released a documentary using all the home footage and the digital records. And that's the one that we were.

That's the one that both of you and I have watched. And that's what we're talking about. The American

murder, the family next door. Shenan's family has publicly criticized at least one dramatization stating that they were not consulted. I think that's the lifetime one. They weren't consulted about it when they put it together. I don't know. I saw like parts of it. It was like on TV and it was just, it was just, I don't know. I've just seen the real stuff. It's just hard to watch. Yeah. Something

That's a dramatization, which you know may not be entirely accurate.

edit things. Right. But I will tell you, though, when you talk about dramatizations,

I did think the Amanda Knox one that was on Hulu. I thought that one was great. But that's because Amanda Knox was involved in it. Right. So you can say that it was likely what took place. Right. As it took place. Right. Because she was a producer. She was involved. So that one was great. But anyway. All right. So thank you guys so much for listening to Lee Lee Brunette, until death do us part. We love talking about these cases and breaking them down. And if you

have any suggestions that would fit this podcast as far as wives, offing their husbands or husbands, offing their wives, please feel free to DM me and give us a suggestion. Also, I just wanted to put on your radar because I want to talk about this eventually, but not right now because there's

very little information. File for divorce instead of murdering your spouse. I get, well, that's just

our blanket public service announcement with this podcast. File for divorce. You don't have to murder anyone. Is there's a new case in tip city, Ohio. The woman's name is Ashley Flynn. And if you

guys remember I'm from Ohio, my whole family is in Ohio. So my sister actually sent me the article

the other day. And I read it. And when I was reading it, it's, you know, it talks about how it was a home invasion. There was a burglary that went wrong. And the dad and the mom were home and the kids. But the wife was the only one that was murdered. The husband was fine and the kids were fine. And I remember replying to my sister and I said, you know what, the husband did it. And then about two or three days later, she sent me a follow up article where the husband has been detained,

charged, and the murder of like a hit higher, like he hired someone allegedly, allegedly. So

anyway, her name is Ashley Flynn. It's in tip city, Ohio. There's not a lot of information right now, so we really can't do a full podcast on it. But anyway, I just wanted to talk about that because I feel like that's going to be wanted to say that you predicted it was the husband and now he's arrested. Well, I did. I was right. But anyway, I also apparently he was a contestant on American idol at some point, too. So I just feel I have a feeling that this case is going to be one of those

that is big in the media. Yeah, so anyway, just putting that on your real. I have a thought.

Yeah, I've thought about this the other day. Is this final thoughts? Is this what we're going to do?

Well, it's about Chris Watts. Okay. He please out. Like, oh, I don't want the death penalty. I'll just go to jail for life. Yeah. He has no wife, obviously. He has no children. I don't think any family members are going to come visit him. I don't know. It's a good question. Maybe it's dad. What is your thinking? Like, what is the purpose of living now? There is no purpose. I don't know. Yeah, he's an narcissist. Unless you're such a narcissist, you're just going to write

letters all day calling women the horrors and harlots and the hope that you get married again and talk about what a great guy you are. What's a harlot? A harlot? Oh, so it's horse and horse. But harlot is just another term. Yeah. Yeah, so anyway, I just thought about that. Like, the other day was, you know, he's like, oh, yeah, I don't want to die. I want to live, but all my family. Because he he shows initially he showed regret and I'm going to have to live with those thoughts and blah, blah, blah,

and all that stuff. So he knows what he did it was wrong, what the admits are not any further. Why would he want to stay in jail? And it's just, it's just a weird thought. Well, it's the same with Brian Coberker. He committed horrible, he was going to be a person in the rest of his life. Are you saying they should keep it so aside? No, well, go ahead, but I'm saying his entire family is eliminated and they want to stay alive. I don't know. Just because he's probably going to work out

in prison and he gets three meals a day and he's going to write letters to people and then he's going to do something and reviews everyone. I want to live. Well, I don't know. You'd have to ask him. Let's get Chris Watts. Can we get Chris Watts on the pod? Want a Chris Watts on the air? No. We get AI Chris Watts. Yeah. You write him and you get a letter back and then we'll revisit this case. All right. I'm going to work on that. All right. Thank you guys for listening till death do as part.
