This is a notice regarding unusual wildlife activity in your area.
Residents have reported sightings of large animals moving silently through neighborhoods
at night.
“Descriptions vary, but all reports agree on one detail.”
The animals do not appear to have visible eyes.
Despite this, they navigate their surroundings with precision and do not collide with obstacles.
“Authorities believe these animals may rely on alternative sensory mechanisms.”
The reported sizes of these animals have varied from that of a typical house cat, up to a
coyote, and, in one instance, in the upper Midwest, unmoves.
“If you encounter one, remain completely still.”
Do not speak, move, or attempt to draw attention to yourself. Do not, under any circumstances, try to take a picture or record video of these animals. Reports indicate that movement and focused attention may attract them. In several cases, individuals who attempted to observe the animal closely reported that the animals became aware of them almost immediately, and reacted with defensive ferocity,
resulting in injuries ranging from superficial cuts, up to severe internal bleeding, and even death. Avoid prolonged eye contact, even if no eyes are visible. Remain indoors during nighttime hours, until further notice.
