Welcome to our daily rules re-meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Let's call the mind all those we've promised to pray for. I believe in God the Father Almighty,

creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate.

Was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, he rose again.

He ascended into heaven and he seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting, amen. Our Father, who art in heaven, hollowed be your name. My kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day or a daily bread

and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us for me, will amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee,

blessed, art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us and earth is now at the hour of our death, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed, art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us and earth is now at the hour of our death, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed, art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us and earth is now at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning,

as now, never shall be, world without end, amen. Our first mystery, there's an old story about

Saint Bernard of Clarevo. It seems that one day, Bernard was traveling on his horse to a retreat he had to preach, and as he rode, he spent the time praying. A farmer working in his fields saw Bernard and scoffed must be nice having nothing to do with pray all day. St. Bernard responded, "Well, if you think prayer is so easy, I'll make you a deal. If you can say one hour father right now and not think of anything but God, I'll give you this horse I'm writing on.

The farmer eagerly accepted and went off to pray his one hour father. But in the middle of the hour father, he suddenly thought, I wonder if the saddle is included in the deal. And since he

was an honest man, he admitted that he hadn't been able to do it. So he didn't get the horse.

But he did learn that prayer isn't as easy as it looks. That he requires discipline of the mind

and practice maintaining attention. So are we doing that? Are we disciplining our crazy minds?

Are we practicing paying attention to God? Our father, who art in heaven, hell I would be your name. That kingdom come that will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a dear daily bread and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation. But to the verse from Revol Amen.

For give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to have an especially

those most in need of thy mercy. Our second meditation prayer just means trying to focus our minds

and hearts on God or what God has said or what He's done and it's really hard to do that. That's actually why most people don't pray. They say they don't pray because they don't have a time but actually they don't pray because trying to focus on anything and especially on the things of God, it takes a lot of effort. It's a struggle and it takes practice and until you get good at it,

it's actually mentally kind of painful. But it's the only way to unite with God because the way

the soul unites itself to anything is by focusing on it, which is why giving your attention during prayer to God is the pre-requisite to holiness. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallow would be your name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stair, daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen.

As it was in the meeting as now in Never Shallopy, world without end, amen.

All my Jesus, forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of mercy. Our third mystery, attention, focus, concentration. These are the only things that can unite the soul to something else.

If you want to be united to another person, you have to learn how to pay attention to them

and what they're saying. If you want a piece of knowledge to stick in your head, you have to focus

On it long enough until it's memorized.

Have you ever tried to superglue two things together? You know how it works. Right after you apply

the glue, you have to hold the two things together with the glue in between.

Then those two items will be bonded. But let's say you put some superglue on something and then you hold that to another thing for five seconds and then to something else for ten seconds and then to something else for eight seconds. That glue is going to lose its power to stick.

It's going to harden on the first object, but it won't be able to bond that initial object to

anything else. And that's true of the mind as well. If you can't focus your attention on something for an extended time, then your soul can't be bonded to anything, including God, which is scary because a lot of us are destroying our attention spans every day. Our father, who art in heaven, how it would be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done

on earth as it is in heaven. Your vests stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from

evil. Amen. Feel Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed, at our Thalmung, women blessed is

As it was in the beginning, as now in the Word shall be, world without end, amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven,

especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our fourth mystery, go to any public place where people are sitting around. I especially see this on airplanes, and you will see people using their

phones to systematically destroy their attention spans. They look at one 10-second video of a girl dancing,

and then another 15-second video of a time-alapse of a cake-been-baked, and then they take a few seconds to respond to a text, and then they read a political tweet, and then another eight-second piece of advice on a new diet, and then an 11-second video on something cute, like a little puppy, and they do this for hours at a time. They take their mental attention. This God-given glue that can unite their souls to the greatest of created goods, and ultimately to the infinite Lord Himself,

and they direct it at so many different objects so quickly that nothing meaningful ever unites to their minds, their souls, or their hearts, just like a random thing, with a hardened

Blob of glue on it, they become unjoinable, isolated, incapable of communion ...

or goodness, or beauty, incapable of communion with God, or neighbor. This is tragic,

but the good news is, the glue hasn't hardened completely yet. There's still time to bond our

souls to something, what will it be? Our Father who art in heaven, how it would be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stare, do the bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. They are Mary full of grace, the Lord is with the blessed artile among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God,

Oh, my Jesus, for give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our fifth mystery, superglute needs time to congeal and our attention needs time to bond to what is good and ultimately to God. Thank the Lord, He has given us more time, but the time is running out because the glue is hardening. We can use that time to become like Saint Bernard, capable of focus and delight on the

goodness of God in prayer, or we can use that time to become like the farmer and like so many scatterbrains all around us, incapable of concentration on what is actually worthwhile. The resolution has to be. He got to put your phone away. You got to do whatever it takes to get that thing off your body, audio hand away from you, and then go to the silence of nature, or the silence of an adoration chapel, or just the place of prayer in your home,

go there and practice prayer, practice concentrated on God for an extended period, learn to unite your soul to God through sustained attention, and let the adhesive of prayer bind you to Him forever. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallow would be your name, that kingdom come, that will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Your beststair, dearly bread and forgive us are trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil Amen. Your Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee blessed, our Thalmung, women blessed, is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us in our ensnown at the

Oh, my Jesus, for give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. St. Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle,

be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God, review, can we humbly pray and do thou, oh prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell, save in all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world, seek in the ruin of souls, in the name of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Trisa, I actually think

this is the most important meditation we've ever done. We've done 3,000 meditations. This one is the

most important. So if you're praying with us and you were distracted or this didn't quite sink in, go back and listen to just the content or look at the transcript because this one can save your eternal soul. This is the thing that could genuinely change society. I was going to say the exact same thing because this one just rattles me to my bones where I'm constantly fighting this fight, but even that little silly story at the beginning, can you pray a single our Father without

ever taking your mind off of God? I don't know. I think it's worthwhile to constantly fight for

that attention and pray in our Father and you keep kind of pulling your mind back to focus, but it does feel like an exercise that I haven't yet mastered and it's so easy to think, I pray all the time. I'm really getting good at this prayer thing, but I really want to set that goal to one day not constantly, constantly fight to keep my attention just simply on one thing.

But attention is a muscle and the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets, but if you never exercise

well, I do think as Catholics we have some of the best ways to practice it because mass is such a great place that really other than mass and maybe the movies, if you go to a movie theater, there aren't many places where you can't pull out your phone. But mass you know you're going to sit down, you're not going to respond anything, your phone's probably going to be on silent and no one's on their phone, but now everywhere else it's constant and that's true for myself.

I feel like I can't do anything without reflexively picking it up. Adoration is another great place to just not even consider touching your phone, meditation or in other daily habits practicing by picking up a book and saying I'm not going to, I'm going to walk away from my phone, I'm going to just focus on this book. Well, notice that just work that muscle. And here we have

Of daily grocery podcasts that most people get on their phone.

hard situation. Because it's just so connected to everything we do. Now granted, these smartphones

are unbelievable tools. We all know we're, it's destroying our attention. In fact, I have the

temptation because I use my, I don't, I didn't have, notice I said I didn't have a watch. I haven't

had a watch since 2004 because I've always used my phone, it's my clock. But here's the

problem. I go to check the time and then up a text, an email and then that quickly cascades to news, sports, a short, a real, so Saturday morning, I was, I sat down to do my holy hour

and I got, I had my phone got interrupted with a text. I immediately went to Amazon,

bought a timex analog watch and since then, I take my phone and I put it in a drawer and I walk away.

I was, I was working because it is a tool so we do want to keep it on us. But find as many times that you can replace the functions. I was, I did a big block of research and writing and I had to, I had to get out and take a walk clear my head and I was walking around the block and I need a handyman for a project and this handyman truck was at this house and I noticed that they're doing good work. So the guy walked out and I said, "Hey, you have a card." And he said, "Just pick a picture of my,

then phone number on my van." And I said, "I don't have my phone with me." And he was like, "What?" It's kind of like using cash these days. I feel like everywhere you go, everyone uses their phone or their card and no one has cash, but there's something nice about that freedom. Going, returning to the analog because it kind of resonates with the mind in a way. I feel more grounded.

Whatever we do though, I'm, anyone listening to this conversation, I beg you,

re-listen to just the content or read the transcript over and over and then do whatever you have to

do to start training your attention.

Otherwise, you will never be able to have union with God.

Well, thanks for the conversation. Thanks for the meditation. Let's be apostles of friendship, good conversation, and the rosary. Share this with others. [BLANK_AUDIO]
