- You know, my goal was never to be an author.
- But I wanted to share what happened to me.
“When I was in coma, I was 10 years a lot of time.”
Three men came to pray for me as they were proceeding to leave. They feet weren't touching the ground. - And the funny thing is that-- - Helen Konoma is a healthcare entrepreneur, Amazon bestselling author, and founder of Lex Homecare Agency.
She is dedicated to helping women and families live with greater dignity, hope, and purpose through compassionate care and empowering storytelling. - When this happened at the time, I didn't know that I would grow up to be a wife,
a mother, a business woman, a voice for others. That linen visible battles. That's just the beginning of the source in a way, because what happened to me led me to everything that I'm now going through.
- Give me the human answer of what you think you experienced. - The moment I came out of that coma. (dramatic music) - It spans the globe.
Like a super high school, internet helpers.
- Ready, ready, ready, ready, ready.
“- Today, Apple is going to reinvent for fun.”
- It's our over, I'm telling our weird. - The living your legacy podcast, for those who live to leave a legacy. - As it's free, right? - Yeah, awesome, awesome, awesome.
- Oh, that is sensational. - Look, open. - Chicago was the lead years ago. - In the boxes, not on the planet. - You can live your free.
- Welcome back to another episode of the Living Your Legacy podcast, the woman in power edition. Joining me today is an Amazon best selling author, climbing back from coma to calling.
Author is Ellen Konoma? - Yes. - She's joining Konoma. - She's joining me today. She's moments away from filming her woman in power episode.
How do you feel? Welcome to South Beach. - Thank you, thank you, I feel amazing. Thank you so much. - What do we got here, my love?
- Well, you know, climbing back from coma to call. And basically, it's a memoir that I, you know, wrote just a kind of empower other women that are going through, you know, chronic illness, you know, which is what I've endured, you know,
throughout my lifetime. And so it's just, you know, my journey, talks about my journey and talks about how I overcame a whole lot and yeah. And basically empowering other women as well.
And that's what it's all about. - Beautiful. So, were you, did you start reality as an author? It took you quite a while to become an author. Talk about your journey.
- You know, my goal was never to be an author.
- Yes. - You grabbed that from your mama. - No, yes, but I wanted to share what happened to me.
“You know, when I was in coma, I was 10 years a lot of time, okay?”
And, you know, three men came to pray for me as they were proceeding to leave, they've feet weren't touching the ground. And the funny thing is that I was in coma, but the moment they walked in, I became wide awake,
I became lucid, because obviously they weren't just humans. And one good thing is that a caregiver, her name is a deep. She was there at the time. She's unrelated to me. She was just doing her shift,
watching me, you know, in the hospital. So, apparently it was yelling her, "E-D-E-D." 'Cause this, it was strange. She was frozen. Her eye just locked on these three people.
It's only later that I learned that she saw the same things. So, that just changed me forever, you know? And shortly after these men prayed for me, I found myself climbing stairs,
filled with bright light. It just imagined climbing stairs from here, all the way to the clouds. It was so, you know, it was a long journey to get to the top.
Once I got there, I saw majestic beans. And in between where I was, you know, standing and where there were, there was a stock line. So I was so excited, I ran to, you know, cross over that line, thank God I didn't.
I was stopped by a loud, thundering voice. That rang, stop, get back. It's not your time. That voice catapulted me back to the hospital room where I woke up crying being resuscitated.
- Wow. - What do you tell me? That moment just changed me forever, you know? - Give me the human perception of what you think and experience.
Give me the human answer of what you think you experienced. - The human perception? - Of what you experienced. - Well, human beings, you know, of course,
It could be, I found myself, you know,
what I described as a spiritual journey.
- You know, you know. - Exactly, there is, you know, when, oh. - Time, all sorts of times. - But you know, the funny thing is that if that girl was in there, you know,
my story would not be seen as credible, okay. That's one thing. And because she, that was not in coma, I'm related to me. - It's all the experience.
- It's not this, you know? So when this happened, oh my God, I tell you. And that was the beginning of my recovery. Think about that. The moment I came out of that coma, bam.
I was in the coma for three weeks. - You were really awakened. - Yes. So I, after that, I came out, I had to learn how to walk,
how to talk, how to, you know, carry on with my daily life. - But in your mind and heart, you saw it. You felt it. - I saw it. - I felt it.
- Of course, it was real. - It was real. - It was real, because since that moment,
“everything I've gone through is started to make sense, you know?”
Yes. So, and this is so funny because this climbing back, I just wrote this book, you know? - The other book for this one. There we got some other goodies in there.
(laughing) - I just wrote this book. It was published. - Amazon best color. - Yes, it was published in June.
And you know, God always wanted me to share my story.
And I shared with individuals, but I didn't know I was gonna share it on the scale like this, you know? So when I wrote this book, because I was like, okay, let me share, I have to do this. My friend of mine even told me, I kept delaying and he said,
what if you just write a pamphlet? I was like, "Sure, let me just do it." And that's June, I wrote this book, I submitted it, and to find out in October, and that was just the confirmation that it became best sell, you know what I'm saying?
- Oh, absolutely. - It just, it's like, it was a confirmation that God really wanted me to do this. - Absolutely, and I could believe it, I agree. - I can give you a theory as to why God wanted you to do this.
- I'm sorry. - I give you a theory as to why God wanted you to do this. - Well, a lot of folks are not going to move through theaters, a lot of folks aren't entertained, or aren't as easily swayed by whatever they see on a phone,
they're really swayed by what they feel in their heart. And I feel like when they see your book, starts to deliver some answers to the questions that they feel in their heart, 'cause they're experiencing the out of body experience
like you have, but in a different ways. - It's a different way. - Completely different, and these three strangers be at three or one, or be at the shadow spread that sits on your chest, demonic be a positive be,
awful be, it'll make up, be it. - Antagonist protagonist. - Yeah. - There's a rumble, there's an energy that we're not seeing. - Right, right. - And I feel like you've tapped into that,
and this penflit is the very beginning of that source. - Right. - Talk about being the beginning of that source and what you brought back from that experience. - When this happened at the time,
“I didn't know that I would grow up to be a wife, a mother, okay?”
A business woman, a voice for others. That linen visible battles, you know, finding invisible battles like me. So, I believe that that's just the beginning of the source, in a way, because this just led me to,
what happened to me, led me to everything that I'm now going through? You know? - Yeah, the universe literally said, "Ah, she's published it, she's printed it."
- Yes, on paper now. - No, she's ready to step to the next level because she's spoken it. - Right. - And physical book, it's not a TikTok post,
it's not gonna know, it's the old way. - Oh, wait. - You know what I mean? It's very powerful. You have some other things here, is there anything you all see?
We'll talk about it just specifically. - Yes, and you know, as I, of course, when I launched my, like some care, basically what we do, Alex is we provide compassionate care to seniors
and individuals in Indian support, okay?
So when we launched it, basically, it was to help people
that was the mission, okay? 'Cause a lot of the, a lot of the elderly's and young people, they've gone through what I have gone through, fear on certainty, illness,
“you know, and that's what they're going through.”
So just to, because I knew what they felt like to be on the other side of care and to need compassion, care from just, where you and your most vulnerable state. But you know, all this, it just made sense.
God wanted me to help, you know? This was my mission to help people to empower people, to show people that your diagnosis doesn't make who you are, you know? And that there is a way, faith, just have faith, you know?
And God would lead you through. - That's amazing. You've come to film your woman and power episode. - Yes. - Coffees, on standby.
What are we gonna learn about you in your episode? - Well, you know, wanted to talk about my story.
What happened to me in my journey
and how to empower other people and how I ended up developing this product, which I didn't get to. - I don't know, I don't even grab it. I want you to go ahead and do the thing, baby. - What are we going to?
- What do we got here? - I, once I, you know, launched my agency
and after a while, basically grew it up,
I just wanted to, you know, tap into the entrepreneur, e-commerce space, you know? - Absolutely. - Yeah. So, and filed products that can also help people,
because this is all about helping people. So, I just, you know, of course, I had to research and the first, the first one I came up with was the Lex Fauds, right on, you know, and the name Lex, Lex Fauds.
- I love it. Let's see the product. I want to see the product. - Well, I have, actually, there's a black one. I think that was just a white one.
- No, it's great. - It's great. - Lex Fauds, yeah. - Yeah, yeah, what does that do? - It's just a Bluetooth earphone, you know, headphones.
- Headphones. - For sure, for sure. But, to me, it's actually about connection. You know, music was my lifeline during most difficult parts of my life, you know?
And I just wanted to share with people, maybe can help bring them joy, you know, motivation, and even healing, you know?
“So, and that's why Lex Fauds came about.”
Of course, we're working on, you know, revamping,
but she was technology's always ever changing.
So, that's what we're working on right now. And this one, also, is Lex, Claire Brieze echo. - Right. - This is my echo sheets, yes. - There are echo friendly laundry sheets.
- Of course. - Yes. So, I've, I've met people that I actually take care of, as well, and people that are in my agency, they actually help suffer from asthma
and asthma-like symptoms, okay? And a lot of them, you know, actually they have sensitive skin and all that, you know? So, just to be able to find it way to do laundry in a clean and say for way, okay?
Without all the harsh chemicals, 'cause this is by a degradable, you know? So, it's echo friendly and it's gentle on this skin. And that's basically the idea, you know? They could do laundry without sneezing or itching,
'cause I, you know, I have a client actually came up to me and say thank God that she doesn't sneeze anymore and she doesn't, you know, since she started using my echo sheets. - That's important, no, no, no, no, no, no. - So, and basically, like I said,
it's all about helping people that overall well being, you know, yes, in a safe way. - How, how did that happen? - I was gonna say, how do you feel about folks that don't, don't quite understand that it really is
your mental health and your mental well being that is important because it reflects your reality. If you're not in the right center spot, your reality is gonna start crumbling. - You gotta be a line, so your reality is aligned with you.
- Correct? - In general, yes, you do have to be in a right frame of mind. And you know what, I attribute all this to my faith. - Absolutely. - Yes, so faith was my foundation, okay?
And I was raised like that, you know, since I was a child. - Sure. And that just helps to uplift, you know, guide my every step and I lean on that because my strength is not mine. So, yes, having the right set of mind comes from that.
“I at least I believe, I attribute it, you know, to that.”
- Absolutely, what? Can I ask, why, why were you in that hospital? That, what put you in that three week coma? - Yes, you know, I have sickle selenemia. And sickle sel, you know, it's a genetic disorder, okay?
And it was a complication from that, I believe. I was in some kind of crisis pain. And, but you can imagine, this was in Nigeria. - Wow. - Yes, when I was 10 years old, so.
- You missed out those two little details. (both laughing) - Well, you know, we're healthcare. - 10 years old, in Nigeria. - Yes.
- That's all completed for an experience and, you know,
the healthcare is always ever changing, you know?
And back then, you can imagine, you know, 'cause I was born in the late 70s, you know? - Wow. - So, yes, and they don't have, I'm sure, they're taking out, you know, their healthcare system
is not as advanced back then, even here, back then, you know, we've grown from, you know, then. - In your culture in Nigeria or these three of them, what, what do you think they were? Were they angels, were they guiding spirits,
were they folks from your family?
“These three in Japan, a gentleman, who do you think they were?”
- I believe God sent them, yes. They came to pray for me. So, and the fact that God allowed us to see that their feet weren't touching the ground.
- Yeah.
- That, that is just unbelievable. - 'Cause I was gonna say that that kind of manifestation only happens in places like Nigeria.
You never gonna see that here.
This is the, the frequency in the energies is here. It's far too turbulent for any of that to be seen as obvious in your country. - I know. - Talk about, that's spiritual awakening.
These, these miracles, these, these three men that that came to visit you and practically has changed your life and everyone you speak to. Talk about what you feel in your culture and you see it, but you don't see it here.
- Right. Well, you know, in my culture, basically, you know, I was born in that era, you know. Strong traditions and resilience. Faith was always the foundation, you see.
That's basically what we all leaned on, you know. We didn't, in my culture, 'cause in Nigeria there's several tribes. I'm evil, okay. And a lot of the evils there, you know, Christians,
most of them at least, you know.
“And you have the houses and you have the urbass, okay?”
- It's so beautiful. - Right. - So, a lot of the people like group around, you know, we were all into the word. And that was our foundation.
That was how we survived. You know, it's so funny these masher classes with these mega churches and all these big, and then you talk about it so simply as I hit the mic as you did, a good old man.
You talk about it so simple. It's like, "Oh, I grew up from that. "I'm from this tribe. "And I'm like, here in the United States, "people are thirsty to be some part of any kind of tribe.
"And you kind of, you talk about it so like, "it's a right of passage. "It's so beautiful." You don't find that here. (laughing)
- You really should be honored and proud of that 'cause I'm proud for you.
Gosh, I always had came from a tribe, the evil.
(laughing) - I'm very proud of my culture. - You should, I am. - Yes, you know, I've been here for a long time. I came here when I was 13.
- Look at you. - Yes. - It's a great number, too, depending who you ask. (laughing) - So yes, but I am very proud because I still,
I carry everything that I was taught, you know? And I basically, that guides me. That guides my everyday move, you know? And especially faith. 'Cause that's what our foundation was.
- Beautiful, you know.
“- Yeah, so I think maybe because of that,”
people being more perceptive, you know, spiritual, spiritual being, yeah, because we're all, we have a well-spirit beings in a way. - Yeah, so we have our physical body, we have our emotional aspect of it, and we have spirit.
We have to feel those, too, goes need to be fed, just like we feed our physicality. We need to feed the emotional aspect, you know, you could be depressed up because you're not feeding the emotional aspect.
- Oh yeah, you'd be depressed because you're not feeding the right parts of your brain. - Yeah, exactly. So there comes the spiritual. So I think we're all in fact then,
people that were in tune with their spiritual aspect, you know? Yeah, the spiritual being, yeah. - Just a cut aside note, I come from, you know,
always schmoozing and laughing, I was at a drink in my hand,
always drinking liquid courage, recently stopped drinking again until I realized, why am I putting someone else's pain and misery that the credit is cocktail into my body? And then I feel pain and misery now.
And when I finally figured that out is when I completely cold-turtly stopped drinking, I'm like, enough, like, "Een, enough." Because, well, I'm pure and enjoyed, but now I'm gonna hold this cocktail
and drink this thing and it makes me feel a certain way, just 'cause I have, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That changes. So once you have that affirmation, that conviction. - Yes, nothing that you're saying you exactly.
- And your conviction was the three mysterious men, shadows, apparitions, that were seen by someone in the exterior and it all comes together. - Right, and you know this happened at 10. So you can imagine, my life has never changed.
- Yep. - I mean, like, what I meant to say that my life having seen these people, it's changed completely, but it's never changed because I will always look back at this.
“I will never forget it, it's what I'm trying to say.”
- Yeah, never. - Divine purpose is a real thing. - Yes. - To live in a divine purpose is absolutely real and I give you a testament to that.
I've spent a year of my life in these studios and divine purpose is very much real, my friend. - Yeah, when you experience something like that, you will never forget it. - Yeah, yeah. - In that 10, that's like, you know,
everything I do now, it's just, it kept reminding me of what I need to do. You need to do this, as you know, you need to do that. - Absolutely. - And because God has put that in me,
this is what I need to do. This is my purpose. You have to fulfill this part, you know? So yes. - From a fellow spiritual travel,
that can completely appreciate this journey. Thank you so much for your time and energy. - Thank you. - It was such a great time. I'm lucky enough that I got the opening act.
Now you're gonna go into the studio and film with coffee.
He's in for a treat.
- Ellen? - Helen? - Helen.
- Konoma, author of "Climbing Back"
“from "Koma" to "Calling" Amazon Best Seller.”
Thank you for your time and energy.
- Thank you so much.
“- I hope you have a lovely experience with coffee.”
- Thank you.
- Had a lovely time with you.
- Thank you. - For Insight's Success, this is Ellen. - Ellen Na, and I am Regretiers. - Thank you. - Thank you.
(upbeat music)
