If I say I'm MD, it's nothing wrong.
I'm not medical doctor.
I'm a money doctor. I studied finance, master in finance.
So I'm a tax attorney and tax is my main subject. How to say what tax is that is in my field? Roma Pithedia is a financial strategist entrepreneur and the CEO of elite wealth by Roma. She helps families, business owners, and retirees
lasting financial security through tax-efficient planning, insurance strategies, and practical financial education. Having problems is not a problem. Not having problems is a problem for me. Love my problems.
Problems is giving me to go to the next level. So if I don't have a problem, there is nothing in the life.
“What is the number one habit that they should look to build for success?”
Use your time, leverage your time. Do something productive.
Monaged doesn't go anywhere.
And finance is a key. Let me tell you something. The living your legacy podcast for those who live to leave a legacy. Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to another episode of the Living Your Legacy podcast. I'm your host Jason Tyler and today I am joined by Roma Pithedia.
I got the pronunciation correct on that link. Yes, yes, I did it. Roma, how are you feeling today? I'm feeling great. Good.
Good. I'm feeling great. You're on the show. Yes. Thank you for having a opportunity.
And I'm enjoying the day today. Perfect. And you are with my favorite interviewer, Kofi. How did you feel about your session? Kofi is great.
He's so good. Very, very known person what he's doing. He's a very good on his own work. Yes, Kofi is one of our best interviewers. Shout out to Kofi.
And I'm not saying that because he's right behind the door to the studio. But Roma, one thing we just finished recording your episode. And this is one thing that I like to start off the show with.
“What would you say is like the number one lesson that you want people to be able to learn from your story?”
Always get out the box. And out of the box is thinking, think, and we'll happen big. That is the biggest lesson and bring the legacy. Get the legacy from our past and also leverage our legacy as well to the next generation. Passing the, passing the baton.
Passing the generation. Yes. I love that. I love that. So Roma talks to me a little bit about your story.
How do we get from young Roma to the Roma that's sitting in front of me here today? Yeah. Yeah.
Roma is always accepting the challenge.
Hmm. Tini just started sharing start. I started my journey. The first challenge I had when I was 13 English is my first language. And very rare.
“I had used my language as English language in back home country.”
Certainly opportunity come to see in this world. Now somebody threw me in the ocean. And I don't know how to swim. And you have to learn on the fly. And I have to learn.
I do not have a choice. So choice is not option. Just do it. Do it with the positive. And we'll happen positive.
That's the way I started. Yeah. Yes. Having problem is not a problem. Not having problem is a problem for me.
Not having problem is a problem with me. Okay. Not having a problem is a problem. Hmm. Well, all right.
I'm from Jamaica, right. In Jamaica we say everything is all right. Everything going to be all right. And so I like the way that that kind of plays into. Not having a problem is a problem because that means you're not.
To me at least it means you're not really. No, I love my problems. Yeah. Problems is giving me to go to the next level. Hmm.
Out of the box is kicking me the way the next level. Hmm. So if I don't have a problem or nobody has that is nothing in the life.
Hmm.
There's no way to grow.
Very easy. No fun. No change.
No come over. Hmm. No risk. So what the hell life for? No risk, no reward.
No reward. I love that. I love that. Now, Kofi kind of gave me a little bit of a refresher before we stepped into the podcast room. You're in financial services.
Yes, I am.
“What made you want to pursue that career path that business path?”
Become country in India. I studied finance. Hmm. Master in finance. And advocacy also in the finance.
Hmm. So I'm a tax attorney. Hmm. Law firm of the tax. And tax is my main subject.
Hmm. So income tax sell tax is. My expert in the law side. Hmm. How to say what tax is.
That is in my blood.
And most people are very.
Correct. Scared of that subject fire. And when I came into. I landed this land of opportunity. The United States is called land of opportunity.
Hmm. For reason. Several reason. Several reasons, especially for. Asian girls.
Hmm. I'm talking about four country. I'm talking about mean. All over Asia but. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
We have common language. Is or do. Hmm. As a Hindi.
“Our country is fully dominated by the man's.”
Hmm. The male centrics. I'll sit. And there is. Lots of history.
Hmm. Hmm. For the woman. Special for the woman.
And when I enter in this country.
I see. Wow. Yes. There's a lot of opportunity. Yeah.
Because once I got to challenge. What to do in this country. Hmm. Because of the language. And when I learned slowly slowly and develop.
You know what. Best thing I like in this country. They don't find a mistake from our language. They try to understand. Hmm.
That's giving me strength. And that's why. I enjoy speaking more and more and the practice makes perfect. Hmm. Exactly.
And I feel like as you come into more. More contact. And you have more of these kinds of conversations. It's. It can be.
It's a challenge again. It's a challenge every time. But every time you get a little bit better. There's room to grow. I love that.
I love that mindset. Because I'm all about. Growth, especially here at Inside Success. We really like to highlight growth as a character's trait or a mindset. Got it.
“You have to always be ready to grow to go to the next step.”
Next step is the ready for you. Exactly. So with that said. Your mindset of growth. How do you apply that mindset to your business?
When I came into this country. I cannot bring my education certificate. I cannot forward my credit. So here. Also, you have to throw them again.
Oh, yes. From zero. And I entered in this country when I was age 25. And over country. Age 25 for the girls.
Time to get married and having babies. Hmm. That was the time. And that time. How can I go to the college?
Who going to pay for my fees? How can I manage my expense? Instead of that, wasting my money in the. Entering in the college. Hmm.
I learned by the skill daily life time. Hmm. And learn from there. I leverage my steal of the knowledge over here. Hmm.
Which is. Because you came here with the knowledge. The knowledge can't. Knowledge is there. Yeah.
Yeah. Once you have it, you have it. So going and getting the certificate again is. Yes. It's a piece of paper for me.
It's a piece of paper. Exactly. You know, because so many. I seen that so many. Even though so many.
Today's generation. Everybody like computer computer computer. That is the biggest challenge right now going on. As a. Everybody's a foreign student.
Hmm. They are coming from their country. Our country. Like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal. Jump on Vietnam everywhere.
Hmm. They study over here as a computer science. Computer engineering. Hmm. I teach field and they don't find a job.
Then what the hell? How are we going to survive? That is the question of the generation. Correct. I believe we.
That is the number one question that we need to solve for in that like.
There.
“If all we concentrate on is the computer science is what's left for for everything else.”
Yeah.
Society functions not only on the computer sciences.
It functions off of everything else. Yes. Nobody's studying to be a doctor or lawyer of. Yeah. Vib and engineer.
Yeah. Vib more than dead. Hmm. That's I see. Vib more than dead.
If I share my personal story. Hmm. My son. He was working for government for seven years. And he's US citizen because he won in Dallas.
And right now he don't have a job. Hmm. But on the side. He is a license too. So officially he's my business partner.
Ah. I see. Carrying the license.
But his mind said that I'm a computer engineer.
Hmm. He's his identity. My identity is computer engineering. Hmm. Three months.
Even though he's he's one over here. He's US citizen. Is it a job? Because of his opportunity. Because of US citizen.
But still he's not finding a job.
“And instead of getting into the depression.”
He asked me. What can I do for you, Mama? Hmm. How can I help you in our grow-over business? So yes.
He is a licensed insurance agent. He's already been licensed with the PNC license, property case utility license, auto-amlicers. And also life and health license. But the now he's doing security license.
So I say use your time.
Continue to find what you want to do.
But the same time. Do not go in the depression that I don't have a job. I don't have a job. Hmm. Because you just, you'll create stagnation.
Right. Use your time. Leverage your time. Do something product to you. Hmm.
Monage doesn't go anywhere. It's time. It's time. It's me with you. And finance is key.
Hmm. Let me tell you something. If I say, I'm MD. Hmm. It's nothing wrong.
I'm not medical doctor. I'm a money doctor. I'm money though. I'm a money doctor. So, MD.
MD. You know, and I go, that's an identity. Yes. Hmm. I love that.
I love that. Yes.
“So, because why I can say, I'm other side of the MD.”
Hmm. We can flip the coin. One is a health. And the other side is a wealth. Hmm.
And they both feed into one another. One of the other. Exactly. And it goes together. Brom, I have another question for you.
If you could provide. Let's say the audience member out there that's watching. And this question is struggling with gaining an understanding of their finances. What's your one key tip for them? That is a question for each and every person in the generation.
It's different for everybody. Everything. It's a generation to generation. But that question is beginning from the years. Hmm.
Because finance is not that easy. Just like a medical doctor is not that easy to become a doctor. It's not that easy. The same way. Understand the finance.
Understand the taxes. Because you know what? Sorry to say. But I can say two monsters. Hmm.
It's killing everything. One is. IRS. Hmm. And the other is insurance.
Hmm. But if you understand. Both. It can be flipped the game. Hmm.
Hmm. Instead of thinking about. So you don't have to worry or scared about the taxes or insurance. People have been. What come IRS?
This care. Hmm. Insurance. This care. No.
Try to understand. The the path of. Financial. Financial. Later.
Hmm. And use that. In the right direction. Right time. With the right market.
Hmm. Just like if I say taxes.
Taxis is.
Ex now. See what the tax now. Hmm. Already for the tax. Or.
Let me repeat the tax. Hmm. Yeah. You'll figure out. Never pay tax.
Oh, go. Oh, literally.
That's my first question.
Because if I can get away with it. You let me know. Yeah. Roman. I'm in school right now.
You're. You're taking your class. Right. And you know what. They are not teaching.
No. They were the bank is doing. No. They don't teach that. What the insurance companies do.
They don't teach that. Which is. That's a whole. Another issue for you guys out there.
“We won't need to go down that whole rabbit hole.”
Why? Why? Why? Because that is no subject of illegal. No.
And even if you go into studying. Finance in and of itself. There won't be a specific. Touch point on the banking system. The insurance system.
You. If you go to study finance. You'll study taxes a little bit. But depends on how you are learning. How much you're focusing.
Yeah. How much you're retaining.
Dating is the most important.
Because sometimes you know what. CPA. Let me tell you CPA. The title is there. CPA.
But their expertise is doing different idea. Somebody's doing. Talking taxes better. Somebody's doing medical doctors. Taxes.
Taxes better. Somebody's doing financial advisors. Taxes is better. Somebody's doing real estate. So they have their own expertise.
So if you don't understand. The client and their need.
“Even CPA has their own certifications as well.”
And expertise. Just like a doctor's even. Doctor is doctor right. MD is MD right. Surgeon is surgeon right.
Was still. Cancer. Specialist. Can not do the operation. For the heart.
It doesn't mean that degree is not good. But not for heart. Yeah. There's there are specialists. Specialist.
For their own things. And everybody in some to some degree is a specialist. If you're deep into. You can be genius on your own field. So find your like things.
Like blinded things. And move on on that direction. Now one question that I ask. All of my guests on this show. We're here at inside success.
For the business owners out there. What is the number one habit that. They should look to build for success. Success is not for waiting. Just do it.
Mm-hmm. Now. Mm-hmm. Then they were. Take action.
Take action immediately. Mm-hmm. I don't see that good or bad action. Excellent. Excellent.
Imperfect action. Doesn't matter.
“I'm a big proponent of imperfect action.”
That's okay. Mm-hmm. If you're doing imperfect. Then you realize that this is imperfect. But if you don't.
The next time you do that action, you're one step closer to perfect. Exactly. Mm-hmm.
So mistake is always good.
Mm-hmm. Do the mistake. If you do the mistake, then you will learn the mistake. Mm-hmm. But if you don't do anything.
Then how come you know that this is the mistake? Yeah. So to understand mistake is also need to do the mistake. Mistakes are a form of research. Add your goal.
Mm-hmm. It is. Big believer in that. And guys, for you guys out there that are tuned into this episode. First of all, I want to make sure that you tune into Roma's episode of Women in Power,
which will be coming up shortly after this podcast episode air. So make sure you check out that episode to do a full deep dive on her story of coming to the United States and becoming a money doctor, MD. So I'm we're coining that. We're going to put it in her title card.
Ro, MD. Make sure it says money doctor. But make sure you guys tune in and check out her full episode. Roma, where can people find you? Where can they find you on the internet?

Mm-hmm.
I have my own podcast channel YouTube channel.
I believe in the media. Mm-hmm.
“Social media, I have Facebook and everywhere.”
They can find me. So many times I do like a small small videos. Mm-hmm. Just for one question. I do small videos on TikTok even.
I'm learning. I'm learning and using the technology. Technology is there. I'm just using the technology and they can find me anywhere. And guys, for our editors who might be watching this,
make sure that we put some of those links as some pop-ups here on the screen. You guys see me pointing in directions.
“I'll put them up on the screen somewhere for the audience.”
But again, Roma, it has been such a pleasure having you all. I also like to add my perspective. Of course. I do like a speak-merty language. Mm-hmm.
So three language I do speak. Mm-hmm. Hindi, which is National Language for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal country. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
They have the highest problem. To understand this country. Is it the specific language switch from Hindi to English? Yeah. Because they have English is the biggest challenge for them.
I've heard that English is an incredibly difficult language to learn as a second language.
Correct. Mm-hmm. And they're used to be for speaking in their own language. And suddenly they come into this country. World of opportunity, land of opportunity, united state of opportunity, is a land of opportunity.
Mm-hmm. And they are not getting opportunity. Mm-hmm.
“So that's why I speak National Language.”
Is the Asian language, is Hindi language. Mm-hmm. And also my own mother tongue language, which is Gujarati. Mm-hmm. So yes, that is the way I learn myself.
Is it Gujarati? Gujarati. Gujarati. Yes. Yes.
I wanted to make sure, again, I wanted to make sure we started the episode off with pronunciation. I wanted to get it right now on the other side. Right. But again, Roma has been such a pleasure having you on the show. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. I've enjoyed this morning with you guys. Of course. Of course.
It is our pleasure having you here at Insight Success.
