I almost lost my primary residence due to foreclosure.
Once I came, you know, out of that,
“I was able to get it out of foreclosure,”
stabilize it again before I actually sold it. And so now, that story and that journey has allowed me a lot more knowledge and education to where now, I'm just basically rinse and repeat and the process is sharing it with others.

reclaim their financial futures through strategic credit repair and property acquisition, paving the way for generational wealth and during resilience and true independence. I lost a finger, my lost kidney.
That was the extent of what I lost, other than a lot of blood. But, you know, that whole situation, like I can remember laying there and just like making sure I was breathing really slow,
like, hopefully somebody gets to me. And I mean, like, just try not to panic. You know what I mean? Like, that was the biggest thing.
I mean, something to always remind me.
You know that this is not going to define me. It's just going to better me. [MUSIC PLAYING] But, living your legacy podcast for those who live, to live a legacy.
[MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, welcome back, everyone. To another episode of Living Your Legacy Podcast, I'm your host, Jay Slangon. And we are down here, as you know, in studios,
in Sunny Miami Beach. And it's got the woke up fever. So we just had this Scottish tart and army. I don't know if you've seen any of that. So I will stuff on it.
But watch that game last year. OK, so we have a special guest here today. Who, the other videoographer, they just finished filming. And he said, wow, this guy's got a really cool story. So I'm excited to hear it.
Hope you guys are excited to hear it.
And what's your name, where you from?
And tell us what your business, what's good? My name is Bobby, I want to remove these moments. I currently reside in New Jersey. But I'm from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. OK, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I kind of know that from both my brothers went to Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, which is like Carlisle. Yep, Carlisle. Yeah, so literally 30 minutes from me. All right, so I remember when I was young,
we saw a lot of old school core vets going down-- there was like some big core vets show. Yeah, it was probably somewhere close to the farm show. OK, OK, yeah. I'll tell you what.
Here might be, I see a lot of the new school core vets. I don't know. I like the old ones. Way better, actually. I'm way better, way better.
Nowadays, there are a lot lower, hard to get in and out of. Yeah, I don't know.
“Honestly, as your daily driver, I couldn't do it.”
And I actually worked in on cars for a while, and working on a piece of work on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you a sports car guy? Like, would you get one?
No, I'm not really a sports car. Yeah, OK. I mean, if I had one, it would just be something that I would pull out here and there. Yeah.
Like, you know, I'm not really a sports car driver. As you can't drive in this fashion, you really supposed to. I know. I know what I mean.
Yeah, I'm under value on it. Yeah. No, honestly, it's like, you just see people here. And it's like, OK, you're going down ocean drive. Right.
And you're stuck in traffic. Yeah. Here I am on my e-bike. You know, I haven't actually a better time, because-- Exactly.
I'm cruising. Yeah. You know, I got my girl on the back. Yeah. Actually, you know, who's also quite beautiful.
And you're stuck in traffic, sure. You know, you probably got some debt going. Exactly. Who knows? Who knows, right?
Yeah.
“But so you said, moody's, moody's, what is your business?”
Moody's movement. Moody's movement. All right. What's that? What's the movement?
Just based on financial literacy, how to break generational curses, and then actually have an ownership on it. And I said, which my main thing is real estate. OK, OK. I was just going to ask you, what makes you qualify to be
talking about financial advice and all that? So what you said real estate? Yes, yes. OK, that's your hustle. That's my business.
OK, OK. And so yeah, just been really in that field now since about the age of 19. Oh, wow. Yeah.
All right. How old are you now? 42. OK, OK. So you've been in for a while.
Yeah.
And how's it been for you? Like, start starting off--
tell us how you started off with your first place.
OK, well, my first place was just my primary residence, which, you know, I bought at the age of 19, lived there probably until 29, 30, and then I actually moved to New Jersey. And so I've rented it out.
Yeah, once I rented it out, and that was just a single family home. When I'm rented it out, I've realized, like, once, you know, 10 it moved out or it didn't pay to rent, it was just a burden. You know what I mean? So then what I started doing is I became a licensed real estate
agent in 2019, and also. And then I actually just started my own investment properties. But I like to buy multi-family. So my niche is multi-family. OK.
And so these multi-family places you're
“buying, what do you look for in a place that you're buying?”
And do you go in there and build them up yourself and do their repairs and all that? Well, yeah, I have contractors that do that. So most of the time, what I like to look out of my is it's pretty much buying a business.
So you know, they might be underperforming a bit, but they might have one 10 in it. And so what I'll normally do is I'll get in there, I'll put some added value into it. Whether it's put in washer, driers, and then maybe making
an extra bedroom to, so I'm able to increase the rent. And then once I stabilize it enough, if that previous tenant really isn't performing well, then I'll transition on to a better qualified tenant. How many of these multi-family homes you have now?
How big have you grown since that first one that you own to?
Where's it going? That's all right. Now it's actually at 12 doors. OK. And so what I do is, like I said, I buy dry plexus,
do plexus, and quads. And so now you're giving advice, right? Yeah, absolutely, because my story is, you know, I actually was incarcerated for a while, so I almost lost that month.
I almost lost my primary residence due to foreclosure. And so once I came out of that, I was able to get it out of foreclosure, stabilize it again before I actually sold it. And so now that story and that journey
has allowed me a lot more knowledge education to where now, I'm just basically rents and repeat and the process is sharing it with others. How do you share it with others? You have a podcast.
You do a marketing, or what do you call it? Do you have a class that you do? Correct. So what I'm currently working on right now is an actual DIY course, along with a mentorship,
where you work with me one on one. I've had some stuff already in the previously released a few e-books just to give people basic knowledge and some advanced knowledge, but now I'm taking it to the next level
by having a mentorship. What kind of people come to you? A lot of people from law different walks of life. However, I have to be selective at my time. You know, a lot of people say they want things,
but then they don't want to put it in the work. So I have to make sure that I'm working with people
“that actually what do you want to work for themselves?”
Yeah. So what's the biggest challenge when of these people that come to you? One of the biggest challenges is people have so many limiting beliefs.
Now, you can get on YouTube and find out a little bit.
And so basically, people are trying to challenge you
from what they learned on YouTube compared to what's really being done. Yeah. And so it's almost like the person who says, "My mechanic, well, if you're mechanic, well, why are you here?"
You get what I mean. And so unfortunately, a lot of people have limiting beliefs and they think it's a scam. And it's not, that's the bad part about it. You know, like, it's just that once you can help
break down that wall, rebuild it with proper education, and then it allows people to now say, "Okay, this stuff really does work." And that was the purpose of putting out the e-books because you know, I give away a lot of gems, a lot of jewels.
And it was the e-books to where people can go out there and say, "Okay, let me see if I can do it as so on my own." And if I can get this deletion off of my credit report, then I know it's real. Yeah.
“It's almost like you have to give something”
a way to earn people's business to earn people's trust. But at the same point in time, I'm okay with that. Because, you know, for the people that actually go out and do it and they do get results, they're blowing your phone up or they're hitting the socials.
Like, "Okay, well, yeah, how do I get into the next thing? What can I do next?" And so then when those people are here, we're here to help them. Yeah. So do you have a lot of people build a credit?
Also? Absolutely. Okay. So we build the credit to over 700, and then get some credit cards. All right.
And then use that money with the business credit cards after they set up the business to invest it. Correct. That's right there. Keyhead spot.
So what we like to do is just make sure that the foundation and that's the credit. So we make sure we can leverage the credit to get whether it's credit cards, lines of credit, personal loans, different products on your credit profile,
help it become better.
Then we help you structure the LLC and the NACI.
That's code is the right code.
So that's not a volatile industry. And then from there, you get business credit, different lines of credit. And then we turn that into leverage to get assets. So with many people building credit,
it's not a quick, right? It's not a quick thing. You know, there's some tips that you can do, right? That will help you build it faster. But that's a journey.
It is a journey. But you got to take the steps. And you have to take it. And once you get there, it's like, all right, right? And then I'm building it and I'm growing my credit.
And I'm growing the amount of credit. I'm building it, right? Absolutely. And yeah, I mean, I love that, right?
People that help out with that, right?
Because you're helping someone kind of get out of bad situations and grow themselves. Correct.
“And that's what it is, you know, because a lot of people”
nowadays are stuck. And we didn't go to school and learn this. No, I can't believe they don't teach us in school. Right. And that's the thing.
And that's why so many people are stuck. Yeah, as we have obsolete information. They want you stuck. It's like, yeah, it's like they want you stuck, really, because they make money off of the people that
have the bad credit. They're buying the purchase in, you know? You know, you give them predatory loans. Yeah. You know, you give them the high interest payment.
Yep.
No one that they're not going to be able to afford it.
And it's just a cycle of going all the way down. And then what happens with people is they stay stuck, they don't know what to do. They don't know how to go about doing it. You know, so they just really are just living mediocre.
No, that's great. You tap into school at all, SKWL. Correct. Yes, I do. I actually have a couple other mentors that I am involved
with on school.
“All right, so you know, that's how I learned from getting”
from having mentors myself. And now it's kind of like once a repeat in the process. Not, you know, unfortunately, everybody can't have those big expensive mentors. So you know, you got to start where you can start at it.
No, it's a great thing to tell people, because honestly, someone, it's like, OK, I could see where your credit is. If you just do a few things and take the time. Honestly, you can flip this store. And so the videoographer that did your episode, right?
So you flip these houses, right? And then you flip people's credit. But you also have kind of flipped your life around. Yes. So tell us, tell us about that.
How did you flip the script on, you know, I heard that there was, you got shot five times then. Yeah. And then you said that you almost got, you did get incarcerated. Yeah.
So yeah, tell it. I mean, so that's kind of like starting from there, going up here, you turn your life around, right? So give us a little background about that. Right.
So had a good job at one point in time.
“We got laid off and I was actually still going to school,”
taking some business classes. But of course, you know, once the job laid me off, I wasn't making enough to be able to still pay for my mortgage. I wasn't able to do enough to pay for school. And, you know, just was introduced to some marijuana.
Yeah. And, you know, that led into me selling marijuana for a period of time. Yeah. I was actually dating someone where I would put money at that person, what their brother would act like they were asleep.
And they would see where I would put the money. And so they stole the money from me. And then they act like they hit the lottery. Oh. Yeah.
So they're out at the bar, buying everybody, doubles and drugs. And Laura doesn't call me and said, hey, man, you still got a whistle. So I'm like, yeah, well, oh, yeah, pair of blind drinks. Like telling people they hit the lottery, no. And I'm like, you don't hit the lottery and have that much money in the same day.
And so I told him what happened. And so, you know, he confronted or not in a malicious way. But I confronted and I said, you know, as much as I do for you as much as I do for, you know, your daughter, this is what you do. You know what I mean?
And so, like, literally, like, in a day or two, I was in, I ended up getting shot. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. And so, what ended up? It's like, you're going to do me like that and then it's like, yeah, me like that.
Oh, Jesus. And so, then the thing about it is, is, you know, of course with that, you know, my house gets rated, you know, looking for stuff wasn't nothing crazy there. But as I lived in the school zone, it was all ready to get man to, you know, situations.
So I parted as I was able to have a decent attorney where I had, you know, it was like an incarceration just for short period of time until the next boot camp platoon started. So it was like a pre-boot camp and then I went into the boot camp and did about 10 months there.
Okay. And so, being in boot camp, you know, you got a lot more discipline, you know, you have what they would do every day.
It was called a, let me, let me roll back before doing that.
So I mean, come on, getting shot five times, like, where'd you get shot?
“Like, you must have thought that this is it.”
Yeah. Well, you know, it's like one of those things where when it's happening, I guess there was so much adrenaline that you know, you didn't even realize what was happening. So of course, you know, as we were fighting, you know, the gun went off originally. So I lost a finger on my lost kidney and, you know, that was the extent of what I lost
other than a lot of blood. But, you know, that whole situation, like, I can remember laying there and just like making sure I was breathing really slow, like, hopefully somebody gets to me. You know, I mean, like, just trying not to panic, you know what I mean? Like, that was the biggest thing.
And one of the craziest parts about it all is, is like, like, again, I got arrested, too. You know, not like, right there, but after I got, I was still having a charge. Yeah. And so I had, actually, I stood the guy and I said, I think I can get one of those pictures of it on my blood.
He was like, I can't do that and I was like, man, I need this. Yeah. You know what I mean? I said, I'm already going to be living with the injuries and the trauma of it. But I need something that I can reflect on, I said, because, you know, when you lose
that amount of blood, you know, you're not expected to make it.
And so I need something to always remind me.
Yeah. I mean, like, to, you know, that this is not going to define me. It's just going to better me. Yeah. Which someone wanted to set out to, to, to bring your demise, it's how I'm going to rise.
He gave it to you. Yeah, again. Oh, why? So, like, you know, there were some things that we had to go through, but, you know, he ended up getting into me.
All right. Oh, so that was just kind of like one of those things where it was like, thank you. Yeah. Even though you're going to prosecute me. Thank you.
“Back then, getting laid off from the job, right, how old were you?”
I was at that time, I was 19. 19. All right. Were you thinking about credit yet? No.
No. I had good enough credit to buy my house, but I wasn't thinking about it to that capacity. Yeah. Now, for us playing the intro literacy, and then that, that, no. So, you go through bootcamp.
I'm sure bootcamp just changes a lot of dudes. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's, I think it's a great thing.
I've seen some trouble kids from my high school that, you know, they went through bootcamp at the military. Yeah. Yeah.
They're like, amazing men.
Yeah. Yeah. And I'm proud when I see them on Facebook about the, the men they become. Right. And I mean, you know, at the end of the day, you know, we don't, we don't get a script on
how to live life, you know, we go through life.
“And when you're going through life, you know, life is about pit stops, you know?”
This happens. That happens. This happens. That happens. What it's all about.
How do you maneuver? And so, you know, while it was in bootcamp, I literally watched people. Sign out of bootcamp that go being jail because they couldn't deal with someone yelling in their face and maybe a little bit of saliva getting on them. Instead of doing six to eight months, you know, I'd go do two to four years.
Yeah. Help me understand time is time. Six months is going to come before two years. Yeah. But for myself, you know, I just used it as a way to, you know, better myself, understood.
Like, you know, I was, I was here out of a situation of still just trying to really help better my family and my situation. You know, it wasn't about me being flashy and having the biggest, this sort of biggest that, you know, I had a family to take care of. And that was, you know, what he, what it was all about.
Yeah. When you were, when you were involved, when you're dealing weed, right? Did you do it just out of, you know, how, how into it did you get? You know, was there a lifestyle that came with it? Was there a cloud that came with it?
Was it something before that all happened? Was it something you were like, oh, my God, I'm going to keep getting more away, you know, because the opportunities, it's so easy, right?
I mean, I never really thought I was going to be like a Pablo Escobor.
Yeah. Yeah. Like that, you know, what I understood was like, you know, especially in a small city, like Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, you know, like even though you're doing what you're doing, you know, last some point in time, things are going to hit the thing, just a matter of one.
Yeah. And so my, it was, it was, there was always an exit strategy, you know, it's like, I would rather have an exit strategy before I got forced, unfortunately, you know, things happened before the exit strategy was truly able to, you know, get executed the right way, but no, I never had the thought process of trying to be, you know, and I mean, like,
Again, you put, you know, not only are you putting yourself at risk, but you'...
your loved ones at risk. Yeah.
“And I mean, and that's what, you know, people when that lifestyle don't really understand,”
you know, a lot of times if people can't get you to get the person's closest to you.
When did you start thinking about credit? I started thinking about credit, you know, when I realized I was coming out and, like, my family wasn't paying my mortgage, and so as I was, you know, getting letters to see that my property was going into pre foreclosure foreclosure status. I was like, well, I got to figure something out. And so, you know, no sooner than I got out of boot camp, I was already
making phone calls to, to the banks and seeing how I could do a long modification and, you know, just talking. Fun stuff. Yeah, yeah. But I mean, hey, you got to do it, you know, you know, the good part about it is is like,
you know, when you have time to really send and thank you have clarity, yeah. And so when you have clarity, you walk with intention and you move with intention. And so that, like, that's where Modi's movement came from. Literally, while I was in boot camp,
you know, one of my bunkers, like, man, he always making moves, even in here. How are you
doing that, you know what I mean? And it was just like, oh, I understand, like, opportunities,
“you have to go get them. They don't always come to you, you know what I mean?”
Or if it comes to you, you got a handle of the situation, you got to step up, clean. Yeah, I know it comes easy, right? Absolutely. Then you didn't even know what's what's coming at you, but sometimes hard work just pays off. And, you know, they say, oh, it's, you got lucky, you know, much work gets to getting lucky. Yeah. You know, putting yourself in the right positions. And that's really what it is, is putting yourself in the right
positions and being able to capitalize when the opportunities present themselves. That's really all it is. You know, I'm not a believer in love, a believer in hard work, grits,
but, you know, again, you know, every, every major breakthrough has been just an opportunity.
I've been able to capitalize on because I was in a situation to take advantage of it. You know, when I was, don't stay open long. So it's like, if you can't afford it, you can't afford it. If you can. All right. Now, this is an opportunity. You know, and that's kind of how you got to look at things. Do you see anyone that's, that's finally got in credit. And then they just spend it on the fake it to you, the wrong kind of fake it to you make it
on the flash and stuff. And it's just like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, you know, an nasty thing. So much cloud and we're in an age now where, you know, a lot of people do things for validation. And when you're not comfortable with it yourself, you know, you want validation for mothers to make yourself feel like something. I feel I've helped people get business credit and they go out and get jury and they go out and get a new car. But
yet none of it is making by many money. Yeah. So at the end of the day, now you have a car note. Now you got jury, but you know, you didn't even make you didn't even get it appraised. You know what I mean, you didn't get it appraised. You didn't, you know, get insurance on it. You just got to look. Yeah. But you got no rope substance, no road structure behind it. You didn't even get made, bro. It's like, damn. It's like, you
know what I mean, you got to look and you still stay in person. You know what I'm doing? Like, you know, because that, but then in most of the time, that's the African American unity, you know, and it's sad to say it, but unfortunately, you know, when we come from nothing, we think that having a chain and a nice cars is making it. Yeah. And it's backwards. I know. It's like, when you say, when you say, what is success, right?
Um, it's, it's so many different things. Yeah. It's, it's not just the number, right? Right.
“Honestly, it's like success is, it's, it's about, I, I'd say freedom. I was going to say,”
yeah, success is pretty much freedom. You live, you live in life on your own talk. Yeah, you know, financial freedom. It's not the money is one thing, but it's, it's the freedom freedom that the people, it's like, the freedom that it gives you of, I'm free to, to do what I want to do. I'm free to travel where I want to travel or write, but also what comes with getting that is the, the intelligence that you gain on the path to get there, right?
Absolutely. You know, everything that you've had to overcome that becomes your body armor, right? To get there and the confidence, right? So it's like, it's like, success is, is a lot of different things. And just being able to freedom to help others. Help, right? And you know, that's the joy of it for me. And unfortunately, like, the sad part about it is, you know, as you start to climb the ladder, some people angle and be able to go with you, the sad part
About that is, then they start, right?
as I do, just like we all got 24 hours in a day. Yeah. You know, you know what the haters are?
Haters are like, like, muggles, right? Muggles is like, in Harry Potter, you get the wizards and then you got the muggles who are the people that don't have the magic, right? And muggles when it comes to like entrepreneurship, or just the people that don't know understand entrepreneurship, or the muggles in your credit thing, right? People that don't understand credit, but they're the ones hating when they don't understand. And oh, man, they do the
most talking, the most hate and most criticize it. Yeah. And guess what? It's been all of that negative energy, but don't put an ounce of positive energy into anything to see if
“it will work for them. Yeah. I like to ask people, what are you most excited about, man?”
I'm excited about my family. All right. How big is the family? My family's my have two
sons. All right. How old are they? I have a newborn. Wow. And I have a 13 year old. Okay. Uh, get into them rough teenage years. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, getting into the rookie started. Yeah, it's okay. Started and, you know, um, now I pretty much just have to discipline them. Yeah, in strategic ways. Yeah. Take them to the gym and working out. So so much to worry when it's home, you don't even want to shower. He's right. Oh,
go straight to bed. No, no, no. So you coaching and pushing you down. Yeah. You know, yeah, no, I had, dude, I had one guy the other day. And, you know, he brought his teenage son. Oh, right. And like, this guy is like, dude, successful, dude, right? Right. Right. And he's freaking cool guy, right? Um, and, and then the son is like, you know, helping
“to take social media, just pictures, right? And the, and the son was cool, but I guess”
they have this thing. And then like, he's like, oh, look, I took the picture. And then he shows it to his dad. And then over the picture, it said, chud. And I was like, what's a chud? I'm like, that doesn't sound so good. You know, and he's like, oh, that's like a really bad word. You know, and I was like, and then I had to go to the kid. I was like, bro, you know, like, the reason why your dad's here is because he's at the top of
the top. You know, and he seems like such a cool dude, right? Like, uh, and no one likes to bully. You know, and I know you might have this playful thing, but, you know, at this moment, where he's celebrating, you know, the being on this TV show, right, right? You know, like, this is when you got celebrated. Exactly. You know, not, it's not the time to joke around. Exactly. And be like, you know, it was funny, because I had to be like, your
“dad's here. You know, like, look at these people on the wall. Exactly. That is sat in that”
chair. You know, some of these gray people. Exactly. And that's your dad. Exactly. You know, so, yeah, teenage years, you know, it's, it's coming, right? You know, it comes. It's already here. You know, like, you know, like, my son, he'll, it's all about his girlfriend. Yeah. I'm like, son, you got to understand one thing, man. You know, like, I mean, I get it. You know, it's a distraction. Like, you know, we need to be making sure
your paying attention to detail while you're playing basketball. Yeah. You know, I mean, we need to be paying attention when you've done after dinner table cleaning up after yourself. You know, little things, like, these things are going to take you a long way in life, you know, and of course, you know, testosterone, that age. Yeah. I don't know.
Dude, it's crazy. Like, that first, like, heartbreak. Yeah. You never experienced heartbreak,
like, and it's like, oh, by the Lord, you know, and you got to put yourself back to experience in that, like, wow, you know, but yeah, that's, that's exciting, man. I'm excited for you. What about business? What are you most excited about? Where's the growth? Where's the growth taken you? Uh, growth is taking me to be able to expand our employees, you know, so I'm not wearing so many hats. You know, still wearing a few, but not wearing as many. Yeah. Being able to
delegate task, being able to now have people that, you know, I can depend on and in our executing, well, yeah, I have efficiency. So that's great, you know, businesses growing just finished up for another renovation, like, and to get that rented out. Nice. Just keeping the wheels rolling. Yeah, just keeping the wheels. And you get to help a lot of people. Yeah. Right. And then it's celebrate the success of celebrate the success of what I'm because like I said, what's the
joy of, you know, me being okay and everybody around me is not. Yeah. It doesn't make any sense. And unfortunately, you know, again, but a lot of it all starts with the mindset, you know, it sounds so redundant, but it's so true. You know, you know, people when when I was working a full-time job and I was, you know, setting out to really become who, you know, once you figure out your purpose, you know, you have to walk it out. And so when you're to say things,
You have a revelation from God, you know, people start looking at you funny.
that job at the end of the day. Like if I'm not going to take a chance on myself who I was well.
“Yeah, you got to, if I can't bet on myself. Yeah. Right. It's like who am I betting on? You know,”
it's like, I got to be able to bet on myself because it's my life, it's my life. I got to live it, right? I got to live it. Yeah. And so you know, as things started to scale for me, you know, I was
able to be in a couple movies. I was able to travel and do some other things. You know, there was
nothing worse than going to a boss, and I need a week off, or I needed, or you just had a day off.
“You know, I mean, like, but like, you know, you want me tied here, but then I can't go out and”
live my life. You get what I mean. Yeah. So there came a point. It's that freedom. Yeah. It's a freedom. It can't go point when I didn't even work for a raise. I just worked for more vacation time. Yeah. Like because what I understood is I can make money on a day off. You know, what I mean, like, but being here all the time, it's limiting my growth on the outside. So once I made that decision,
you know, of course there's always going to be those days or, you know, but at the end of the day,
“life, you want you have to create it. I tell people that all the time. That's just what it is.”
