Okay, my little loves.
Today we are going to start by talking about something very special that we all have inside of us.
It's red, it's strong. And it sounds like this. I think you know what that is. It's your heart.
Can you put your hand on your heart?
“You can find it by putting one hand right on top of your chest.”
Now, you can't see it, but right underneath your hand inside your body is your heart. Your heart is a strong muscle that works very hard to keep your body moving and growing and healthy. It beats all day and all night long, even when you're sleeping.
Do you feel your heart beat?
Let's listen again to what it sounds like and try to match it with our voices. Your heart goes in a pattern. It goes 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2. You could even try tapping along on your lap or even clapping. Or maybe you just say 1, 2, that's my heart.
1, 2, right from the start. 1, 2, steady and true. My heart beats 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2.
“Do you know now why I love the sound of heart beats so much?”
Because they sound like a rhythm just like in music, right? That's one of the reasons, hearts and music goes so well together. So, how about we do a rhythmic jam together now? One that's set right at 94 beats per minute grown-ups, which is the rate your heart beats at sometimes, too.
See if you can follow along with the motions I say and join in with me.
