President Trump is promising every American adult, a $5,000 check if Republicans keep control of Congress following the midterm elections in November. Taking Wednesday at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, the president said the
“payment would be called the Trump dividend, with the only condition being that recipients”
have to spend the money in the U.S. The president did not offer many details on how he'd cover the $1.2 trillion price tag, or get it through a Republican-led Congress. Vice President J.D. Vance defended the plan on Fox News, pointing to revenue from the administration's high tariffs as potentially offsetting the payment.
The Democrat Senator John Fetterman shocked the nation by making a surprise video appearance at the Republican National Convention last night. The Democrat appeared to introduce and endorse fellow Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick for going party orthodoxy, Fetterman delivered a fiery unity first endorsement for his Republican counterpart.
"Yes, I'm a Democrat. Why am I here talking to you today?
Because, well, I'm a comment-sense Democrat, I'm always going to stand with America.

Fetterman has faced stiff backlash from his party at recent years for cooperating across party lines, despite voting with Democrats nearly 90 percent of the time. The surrogate mother who refused a California couple's demand to abort a baby after he was diagnosed with a heart defect is taking her extraordinary custody battle to the U.S. Supreme Court. Culture reporter Megan Basham has a latest.
McKenna West and Alaska nurse who carried and gave birth to the baby in Texas filed an emergency application yesterday asking the Supreme Court to block a California ruling, recognizing the biological parents. Now she and Gilcar and Omar Ahmed as the child's legal parents. West's attorneys have asked Justice Elena Cagan, who oversees urgent matters on the
night circuit, to block the California ruling temporarily. Now, Cagan has not yet ruled on the request. In most cases, the court's emergency docket justices will refer the matter to the full court for a review in order in West's favor would not resolve the custody issue. But rather hit the brakes on the California ruling and bring the surrogate mother back
into the fold as the infant child fights for his life. This remarkable custody battle centers around a bitter dispute over abortion, surrogacy, and parental rights. West says the California ruling has left her unable to advocate for the medically fragile newborn whom she calls Gabriel, his genetic parents named him Rumi.

Texas Democratic Senate nominee, James Talarico, is attempting to walk back his support of transideology in a last-digit temp to appeal to Texas voters, in a Wednesday Fox News interview, Talarico said this, "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' forts if it
engenders safety or fairies." He then disavowed his 2021 claim that there are six biological sexes. Texas Attorney General and Republicans Senate nominee Ken Paxton pointed out that, as a member of the statehouse, Talarico voted against two bills that would have barred men from girls and women's sports.

use Republican-friendly maps for the midterm elections. Justice Brett Kavanaugh granted a request from a left-wing group to block a lower court ruling, directing Missouri to use election maps from the state's 2026 primary instead of the older 2022 maps favored by Democrats.
“The block will remain as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals considers the case.”
The order is the latest update in a dramatic, back-and-forth battle over which Districts Missouri voters will see on the ballot in November. Maps passed by the state legislature last year and used during the 2026 primary elections were expected to yield a 7-1 Republican-house-seated vanage. The old maps approved in 2022 led to a 6-2 GOP advantage, adding further complexity to the
case the deadline for Missouri to finalize the ballot was September 8. The city of Denver, along with civil rights groups, are suing the Trump administration to block armed ICE agents from serving warrants at polling places, arguing their presence could discourage people from voting. The lawsuit sites several alleged incidents, including armed agents detaining a person at
a San Antonio polling site, and ICE questioning an election worker in Syracuse. Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mollon says ICE is not patrolling polling places, and would only be there in response to a threat or to serve a warrant. The administration says there is no plan to deploy agents to polling sites, but is not ruled out their presence.

Reporter's actual has a story. James Brass of San Bernardino, California, is accused of paying homeless individuals on skid road to sign ballot measure petitions using fraudulent identities. Brass was allegedly paid more than $40,000 from an election petition management company for his efforts.
The rest took place early this morning when Brass surprised surveilling authorities by leaving his home around 445 AM. He was then arrested at a local gas station. Brass along with two co-conspirators are now charged with conspiracy to commit identity fraud and furtherance of a state felony.
An Nigerian chief Nathan Agbatua is drawing eyes after building a palace in Nigeria allegedly with US taxpayer dollars, associate producer Brooke Morgato has the story. In a viral video showing Agbatua writing in his lavish motorcade, a videographer can be heard calling him "half-man, half-god" for building the palace quote "free of charge" for the obitetate community.

home health company that collected more than $34 million for Medicaid, meaning US taxpayers
