Not so fast! Bryson's penalty controversy and more! Lucas Herbert (-8) and Sam Burns (-5) both post 62s, but that wasn't the biggest story of the day. Bryson DeChambeau was assessed a two-stroke penal...

Oh my god, today's show is brought to you by Titleis

the number one ball at the open since records have been kept the most played driver, iron, and wedge this week at Royal Berkdale. That is it for the ad read, good spot for Titleis tonight to just let us get directly to it. Shout out to them for that one.

Incredible day of golf, Bryson's Shambo, as of right now, as of we're speaking at 4, 13 PM Eastern

time, shot a 66 that most certainly looks like it is going to be changed to a 68. If you have not seen the clips somehow, the memes and everything else that's happening around this scene right now, Bryson hit a drive way right on the fifth hole was over in the Fescue and they've showed a replay of him standing behind the ball, kind of walking back multiple times behind the ball stepping on tall grass that if I were to interpret the rules

correctly, I know you're our rules guy, but it would be that he was improving the his way. I don't know what the language wrong, but the path of his swing would potentially have been improved by him stomping on some of the Fescue behind the ball. I did it multiple times hard to say at this exact moment, whether that was intentional

or whether the grass stayed down, they went back out with the rules of Fescue before. Sorry. I mean, you're just seeing it. Let's look right far. I mean, I was like, whoa, only Bryson, like, let me take you back to the scene

of the crime. I'm going to show you there is no, there's no DNA here. You can't, they're going to be able to find the spot. I mean, that's in the tall, tall grass, and they did a pretty good job. They found it.

So I was pretty impressed by that. But this is, I mean, 95 stages of grief here. This is unbelievable theater. It's, and they don't have any mics on it. So it's just all, all body language.

It's unreal. It was, it was, I was just, it was magnetic. It's, uh, closest I've ever felt like I was watching the Truman show, it was just like a, just leave out Jim Terry, you guys don't even need to say anything. I'll just, I'm just in.

I'll just want to watch this, fire up the livestream, just let me, let me just marinate in this for a while, uh, complete, completely surreal in every, in every way.

And I think like what made it even more surreal, you know, the tweet, the initially four

hours ago or whatever was kind of floating around in our slack and like, I don't know some people are saying this a penalty and I would have lost every dollar I could possibly have got my hands on, uh, from investors, from anybody, I'm just betting that like, yo, come on, like, this is, there is nothing to see here. The other angle that we saw from every week later on, I was like, okay, I see why I, okay,

I at least see why they got to take a look at it. I'm so precondition to these things, not not being enforced, not taking, you know, just, this is the last thing I thought we'd be talking about and it was already a spectacular day of golf. Maybe my favorite Friday at a major in a decade. It was awesome. And then this happened again. Oh, God. And so this is one of those things we did that rule scandal

pot in January where like at a gust of sometimes it's like that didn't impact the tournament. We're going to make that go away. You know what I mean? Like, and what you could make that argument here. I mean, he punched out from here like it was it a huge deal. I'm not, I'm not making that argument, but I know I'm going, you're going to see that online if there's two strokes here, because that hasn't been confirmed yet, correct? As of us speaking right

now, it has not been confirmed. I can't imagine a world where it is not a penalty based

on all of the demonstrative display we saw from Bryson. Here's what just watching it for

maybe the fourth time as we're seeing it here. It's like the kind of inarguable part about

It is when he gets behind it for the first time, he just in place steps like ...

Like he's walking around like an elephant. He's whaddling. There's the heaviest footsteps.

Yeah. Can we bring in our rules expert on this topic? Do we have slugger here? We do. No. Let me see. Gentlemen. Good evening. Good evening. I was taken the night off. I was on the way to the butcher, and then I was going to go to the range. I sent this through it at noon at like 12 o'clock three today, early on this morning. I just said we got to take a look at this. What you sent through just had like when he had

the club in his hands. And when they showed that video of him before he has a club in his hand, when he initially gets back in the in the heather. That's the incriminating stuff, man. We found

this smoking gun. Yeah. Well, I asked for clarification on what you said through because what he said

through did not was not what I think the penalty is going to be for. I think it's going to be

for when he initially went behind the ball and just started going, I think the people that we're watching live saw some of that and then they only got certain parts of the footage like recorded. So I do want to read this into the record. This is from Joel Beale on site. It said Bryson was just brought back. Last thing he could be heard saying was quote, Crooks was asked was asked by a writer if he was playing tomorrow. He smiled but didn't answer. This was speculated by Terry Gannon,

which shout out to Terry Gannon, Jim Furick. That's a tough hand to be dealt there at the end of the day. Jim Furick Lucas Herbert here, guys. Yeah, 62. Yeah. But I thought they did great. They're they're trying to they're trying to vamp. They're trying not to get out of their skis. That's a tough assignment. I thought they executed well, but Terry went out on the limb. He's like, look, if I'm reading the

lips, it looks like what he's saying is I'm not playing tomorrow, which is just, I don't know man,

the ball just finds this guy. The content ball. It's just you put it in the corner. You triple team him. It's also going to get shots. He's going to get touches. He's going to get touches. The ball is going to. I'm in space for Bryson. Yeah, what a strike. It's a pretty deal. I mean, he is a masher, you know, but mashing and stomping two different things. They don't like enforcing the mashing, but evidently, the stomping is where they draw the line, which T.C. I'm so glad we have

the line somewhere because the mashing in its own right is a bit of an epidemic, but at least we at least we now have a clear red line. Well, and it's such a, it's such a head fake for all of us,

because we're all thick and always is Johnny Rambo going to get a two stroke or for an epic club

throw on 15. And then it's just a complete turnaround here. After, and it worth noting a fantastic finish in fantastic round of golf by Bryson. Big boy shots, awesome birdie on 18. I mean, what a drive. He played really, really good golf. So I can understand why he's so soft, but he was stomping. He was, he was stomping. Clarifying point here to DJ, you read Joel's tweet, Joel's tweet did say a writer asked the question, "Can them Vulcan Burke has confirmed on

social media that he was one that asked the question. You're a lot of people in the comments there." DJ was was simply reading Joel's tweet that said a writer that it did not initially try to have, of course. We are in the live situation, guys. It's like John King at CNN. I got tax coming in right now, that hold on. Let me fix our reporting. We are monitoring truth. The worry T.C. We have all precincts covered. Still in scoring. Trailer. He's still in scoring as well. Which I assume then

Bryson's either refusing to sign his scorecard or he's threatening withdraw or both right now. So this is like, "Oh, can you imagine?" Can you, like, yeah, I feel so overwhelmed on which

direction even go here. I mean, if it's, what if he, yeah, what if he doesn't play tomorrow?

This is like, this is a circus for the next five years. I was not joking. I think Trump's going to get involved with this. I'm not joking. What other golfer would he do it for, but Bryson? We like, fucking care about soccer. We saw that. It's like tiger tiger. I'm on the phone with the president. We need the fast track true social posts. I, I really, yeah, they're, they're, they're fast track and some if you pay extra. Cody used the company card. It's approved. We got to be on top of this.

So this would get, this would get the detective into the final group. I was asking the real questions here, T.C. Honestly, T.C. I had God that far yet. I don't, I don't know. I don't know. What? All right,

I want somebody to, to steal.

would give Bryson? Like, this should not be a penalty. What's the, uh, what's the strongest case

you could give of life? Everybody does it, um, no intent. No intent. Uh, why, why, what was the point he just chipped it out? Like, you didn't, it didn't have a meaningful impact. I, none of those are all green. Like, he got it over, you got it out and over the green. Like, it wasn't just a pitch out. So like, you could make the case that like he, by improving the life was able to get more club

on it. I, I think my case would be like, the grass was kind of already going that way before he,

even got there a little bit or you can't see the ball. So the argument would be like, you don't know how close he stepped to the ball. So how could that impact where the, you know,

is that improving his life, where the club's coming down? It looks so bad. It's bad. He gets there.

He stomped down in that exact spot twice. They changed the camera angle and it's exactly a pace behind the ball where he stomped. But like anybody with any honor would be like, all right, man, like, listen, that looks bad. I did this. Yeah, penalized me. I feel like two, one that that from behind the ball, when he steps back in right before he hits it, that left foot is just really placed with with forceful authority, right in that grass of his swing path too. Like,

like, there's no lightness. There's no delicacy. It's, yeah, it looks bad. Stop on the yard, Randy. Do, God, this is like, well, now it's like up. Now we're talking between penalty and like the seaword, right, of like, of doing this. Like, I know, we've only used the word penalty to this point, but like, if with how intentional it looks, it's like, oh, God. I mean, but this is like the biggest that I can remember, other than like, when Ron got tested positive for COVID, yeah, like,

of the impact on a big ass tournament, you know, hold on. And I need to read something else into the record. It was Friday morning of 2024 when Scotty Sheffler got arrested. Sure. I'm playing his round of golf at the PGA championship. So I, I just want to say we, now that's good. I was almost going to ask what what's what's Tiger Tiger off the flag stick, taking the drop. You know, I took it back in extra steps so that I could get a full number like that. That one was

in all time penalty. And then did wrong give, yeah, but if you protected him, ball moving it

memorial to like the grant he moved the grass behind the ball and it rolled backwards. Was that?

Yes, but he, he, he, he still won, he won by six and like a penalized and moving down to like four shots. But that was where he made the face of like, you know, we got to, we got to penalize you for three ball moving. I just, the, the other part about this, not to, you know, we can talk about this all night, but it's, I think it's just at a fever pitch, too, because the golf was so freaking good today. It was like everything was just, I think everybody's just all systems go and then this

happened. It was like, yeah, it's just just 100 out of 100 today. I mean, I'm texting with four different guys right now that are like on the PGA tour or former PGA tour guys and they're all like, dude, this is like black and white. It's cut and dried. Like, you got caught right handed. I would say, like, yeah, again, still processing this, like I haven't really got allowed my brain to get to the part where it's like, man, this looks really intentional and bad, but like, what a bitch move if he

doesn't play tomorrow. Like, dude, the officials, the officials of the tournament have said that you improved your pat, like, this gate is a game of integrity. Everybody looking at this situation has said this is a penalty and you're just not going to play because you got penalized. You're three shots back in the open championship and you're not going to play tomorrow. That would that is one of the bitchiest moves I've ever seen, which hasn't happened yet, which hasn't happened yet. We got it.

You know, we've been threatening that is one of the bitches, but think I standing outside seeing with the glasses on and it says, "Recorders of like, they're having an inquisition. They're having an entire, what do they call it when they, when they do, like, when they have a big public investigation in the UK." Inquisition, right? Inquisition. Oh, man. Yeah, I don't even know how you transitioned and Lucas Herbert 62 or whatever. I mean, it's just a full, full throttle day.

How long do we have you 14 years? That's the question. I don't know. What are we doing here?

I'm so stressed, man. I was like, the minus five was the number. I'm going to London anyway on Monday. And so I'm like, all right, I could fly over early. I could either, I've had a flight booked

into Manchester for the last week. And I really want to go, the problem is I have to leave it like

1145 tomorrow morning or I drive to Orlando and I would need to leave for Orl...

PM. So that would give me a little bit more. What I don't want is like to get there and watch

Lucas Herbert with my four. I don't know. There's a lot of dogs on this leaderboard. I don't I'm not really, I'm not sure. No, I know. I'm sorry about you. T.C. You guys are all, you're guy hit the shots today. I know. He hit the shot except for the one on top. He's over the one on 16. He hit the shot in the back. He hit the shots. No, he didn't hit the right. He did hit the

part. He did not hit the part. He did hit the shots though. That's that that's what matters.

We have a 6.6% win probability for Tommy Fleet would right now, which that to be fair. That's about what it was when you what left to go to the world. I think when I hopped on that initial

flight even last time, it was probably, I don't know, T.C. I mean at this point, I think you got to

ask the question is like, what would you regret more like going and him not winning or going and not going in him winning? I think he'd regret not being there if he won. Oh, for sure. And you're like, I'm on site and I feel stupid. I mean, that's crazy that this is in the conversation. Especially if Bryson gets a two shot penalty and is back to five, it is a little bit of a different word. I mean, that's a different calculus. There's there's not that many, you know,

I mean, where did he just doesn't play? I mean, he just knocked off one of the, one of the big bosses.

I did just look, Fandwell locked his odds, which is there don't want any runs on the bank. Go

and everybody knows what to do right now. Everybody's, everybody's holding.

Talk about Bryson that is not, not Tommy. The T.C. going does not affect Tommy's odds. I don't believe we got came along. Ranger are the detective. Neil, you're seeing who distressed. I'm having a scourry. Yeah, Mike Wallace, but Collie can't count him out. Thomas Dutri, not, not worried about him. Bitch. I take Bob. We got fits. Fits is right in the mix there. The real fit. So certainly himself. Yeah, the real fits. Frankie Scotty.

Now, like this is setting up to be an all-time good weekend. I know, and that's kind of where I'm, you know, easy for me to say, T.C. But like, I just don't know what could be more your shit. That's just a complete chaos fast. The thing I don't want to happen. So everybody had it. I have a way to dictate what happens. Oh, okay. Well, I have a lay flat confirmed for Newark to Munich. You're not going to get any any any sympathy here. Or if, if I go on version Atlantic, I'm back

at the bus, but direct from Orlando to to. I mean, that's a true testier, you know, yeah, are you a real one or not? Because I don't want to get burned up by thunderstorms because it sounds like it's going to be bad tomorrow by you, Newark. Yeah, it might be. So it's smoke, smoke alerts, all kinds of all kinds of nasty stuff up here. How bad do you want to be smoke? Exactly. How bad do you want it? This is such a good test. I love this. If you don't go, you're fraught. Wow.

Absolutely fraught. I'm laying the gauntlet down. The more we talk about this, the more I'm like, Oh, come on. You know, we this is the back of the eye. It could do right now. And over the if if they came out and they said, you know what, wrong is also penalized. Oh, they just changed the leaderboard. Bryce and two strokes. Oh, shit. Wow. God. Then this guy outside the recorder's office needs a sponsorship agreement.

Nobody is getting more screen time. And I know it's here today. It looks so pretty. I like to tell she logo on. I'm so torn here, guys, because like, yeah, he may have seaworded and definitely deserved the penalty. But man, this was more interesting tournament when he was at minus seven.

It's well, it minus five. It's not a paper. Yes, but like, I think we've just been gifted,

maybe the most interesting bit like 12 hours ever ever already a great turn. What if he goes live on YouTube? It's kind of directed to the people. Dude, I think this is, I'm not going to say is a sign-up. I'm not going that far. But, you know, guys at an inflection point is career right now. He just got the biggest spotlight. He's going to get. I can't, I could not be more interested in how this goes. God, if I'm fouled out, I'm just waiting for this one of like, got to drive or look

what happened. I know what happened. You got to thread it, man. You got to thread it to be these buggers. God, but you haven't had to go full victim mode on this. I mean, if he doesn't play, like, that will be in all time. Like, that's, that's, you're done. God, fear, fear, experience so

Weak with it, too.

That's a tough spot to just, like, I mean, Kurt, I think her buyer was been awesome. He's so cool.

It's been great all day. Like, black and white on it. Like, here's, here's how I feel.

Man, so holy shit. Brandl's going to cook tonight. I know. DC, I apologize if I'm like that. Bryce, it's going to, Brandl's going to demand that he withdraw, actually. DC, I'm sorry I missed this. Is there an option to defer to like a red eye that would get you

in first thing Sunday morning, if you need a little bit more time? No, these are the red eyes.

These are, yeah. They are the most sadder day evening. Oh, I thought you were talking like 11. 45 a.m. your time. Well, that's the one I have booked right now, but, uh, but that's the latest one that you're eating. Yeah, I got to get a Germany on that because it's Star Alliance. So, uh, if I go the 830 p.m out of Orlando would be the one that gets me straight into Manchester or if anybody is headed over tomorrow at any time. What's the ring? Call her at me or I could get out there at

Orlando or just get me head over there to. I mean, I think it's black and white DC, I don't know.

Just a moment for you to say how I feel like, you got to do it. You got to stand for something.

You got to force these go. Come on. DC, go fly in a little hardship out of Orlando. I think that's

the play. I think you go direct in the back of the bus and, and, you know, stoicism. Sometimes with the lie like dog's beach. That's right. I am trying to lie. Yeah, I'm trying to lie. I don't want to sit up on the dog. Quick update. So, there's still very much in scoring, uh, even though we see that the scores have been updated on all digital leader boards, uh, assessing him the two stroke penalty. It's been an hour and ten minutes since Bryson finished his round there. It's not, not looking

for a good, like, a good time for Bryson, but who knows? You got my cheers. I'm like three phones. That's not heard. This scoring there. I would say cheers to that, boys. Vodka, Seltzer, vodka, iced tea, tequila, Seltzer, no matter the occasion high noon has something for you. I got a tangerine in that. I wish I would have got for parcs. I did not, did not know it was going to be this good. Yeah, just tangerines. Same wavelength this week. I absolutely love it.

If you're looking for your next pack, check out high noon tequila Seltzer's fiesta pack. It's got an eight pack or a bigger 12 pack. If you want Moss fiesta, uh, made with real tequila, real juice great for any fiesta no matter where you plan to throw it. You can find the high noon tequila Seltzer fiesta pack nearest you at high noon spirits dot com high noon suns up. What do you think's going on in that, in that trailer at this point? I don't know what to say.

Which is the green thing. Over and over and over again. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I'll call. That's not a license on in there. Like imagine this happening to Lucas Herbert today or Jackson's super or Ryan Gerard has to be Bryce has to be Bryce. Just finds him. If I find him a quarter, if I, so that's specific questions, Ollie, I would guess it's just like one person after another from the RNA having to explain the same

thing to Bryson again, and you know, like bringing in a new, okay, let's try this guy. Maybe he can calm him down and uh, it's not working. Every guy that I'm talking to right now is like,

everybody knows you can't just like walk around everywhere. Like you have to be careful with

every step, not trying to improve your life. Like it is, it is pretty cut and drive. If you affect anything that will affect your, your pet, your swing, your lie, swing or stance, Neil, if you do anything manually to to affect that, it's a penalty. Whether you meant to or not, kind of doesn't really matter. If you do, if you accidentally tear a limb off in a practice swing, like that's a penalty. Like that's, that's what it is. So, and I mean, I mean, the old teaser,

we got a podcast coming out next week with USGA, like head of the rules, where we got into some of this, where it's like, you asked him about something that happened at the US open with with Wyndham, Sawley, and he's like, yeah, there's a lot of times he's watching stuff where he's like, ah, that's a little uncomfortable. Like the guys taking a stance or, but it's hard to enforce. This

one feels like with that second camera angle, it's not that. Somebody said he's in the 3D printing a new

new rulebook. It's good line. Uh, I don't know. I guess we, I guess we wait for the further update. The question now is whether we, whether we seem played a mile. He's out of the, he's out of the tent.

White smoke.

It's, the golf was awesome. Like that. Yeah, I'll vamp for a bit if we need some time to see what

the next update is here. But like, I, I, I feel like when people see Bryce in the top of the leaderboard, there was an, an instinct to like assume the setup is bullshit, the course is bullshit, and like it's just a bomber, bombers to light. Like, if you've watched Bryce and play golf last two days, yeah, he's hit a lot of drivers, but it is not, it is not felt like the, he can't keep getting away with it mean. Like, he's playing really, really, really good golf. He has driven,

hand him and put it well, but like his approach, shots have been great. Like, he is unlocked,

whatever you need to do at Real Burkdale over the last two days, especially up against like,

what he's done in the first three major, so far this year. Like, he's been a delight to watch. I mean, it's just been a much tighter, tighter game. I love the way he played the 17th hole. Just mashed a five iron long of that green chipped up, made easy birdie, drove it, you know, tried to drive nine today of miss on the right side of that green chip up, easy birdie there. Like, that's good course management, good strategy, if I may say, and I mean, he's just playing

really, really nice golf. I was just very impressed by it by it all. I'm like, I don't know, you watched like a lot of the other best players in the world, not be able to do things that he's been able to do on the golf course the last couple of days, and it hasn't felt like, like,

I don't know, Wingfoot is the one that always comes up of just like a dull, boring, manipulated

set up that played right only into his hands. Like, that's not what this tournament has felt like to this point. He's just played really nice golf to this point. Yeah, I saw him, like, hitting him, hitting driver on 10. We were talking about it on slack, and it's just, especially since they showed that big drone shot right before, and it just looks like there's just nowhere to hit the ball. It seems like the most obvious layup ever

back into the wind and then him mashing that driver just like, man, he's he's very confident in this in this game plan. And I don't know that I don't know that Scotty's game plan would be affected by this necessarily, but there's got to be a little wrinkle of, man, if I'm going to catch this guy, I need to keep up to an extent and Scotty hitting driver there too was all that was the only

instance today where I was like, wow, that's, is he, is he kind of pushing him, is he making

and push the pace a little bit, especially since Scotty can't make any pots. It was just a, it's an interesting way to to watch him play, especially, you know, with with Lucas Herbert shooting 62 after being one of the shortest players in the field yesterday and seeing all the different spots that he laid up, it's, I'm with you. There's like a lot more, a lot more styles on display than we normally see, but I also, you can almost see the unlock come in, maybe it's just the players we're

watching in featured groups or whatever, but you can almost see the unlock coming as more guys are pushing it, more guys are hitting more drivers, more guys are realizing like you heard Rama say a couple times like, oh, that's left, that's in the rough, that's totally fine. You know, as they, they kind of get away with it within the, you know, avoiding that bad side like we're talking about yesterday, like as long as I'm not in that bunker on the right, I can kind of be anywhere on the left

is they seem to be like proven that concept and pushing it up there a little further and a

little further and a little further, which we're talking about it, I think Porter wrote this,

but it seems like it sets up for an exciting weekend of guys to be able to chase, as well, if the players behind can open it up and hit more drivers and try to force more birdies, I think it's just going to keep getting better and better. I just don't think to, to your point, it's all like, this isn't a U.S. open. I don't think it's trying to be a U.S. open. It's not trying to be every, if you miss one shot, you're fucking dead and don't even think about the rest of the week.

It's a different tournament and it's been delightful. And if I can't, I feel like a lot of the major championship discourse, like the U.S. open discourse has blood into all majors of them, like there should be no low scores ever at any majors. And I'm very out new to for that. Yeah, I'm not in some here in this meeting right now. We just wanted a one major. We can't get it out again. You can't play with too much water on the greens this week. Yeah, everything else has been

wonderful. What compared to what though? Like, what's the open that had, like, firmer. Like, I feel like they were doing up against a, a made up British open where we have these magically

fast and firm greens. Like, the greens are always green. I've never said fast. Who cares about fast?

The, like, at Car Nusty, when they had the most burnt out, open championship of our lifetime, the greens were greener than this. They were more receptive than this. If you remember, like, it, I keep my life. I know. What is, I just want to see him turn it off a little bit more tomorrow. What is, I, I, I, I, I feel like, and I'm not interacting with you. I feel like I don't know what open we're trying to compare, like, set up in conditions too. Like, I honestly, like,

maybe 2013, your field is like the best version of, of firm greens, but they got more wind. And then we gotten so far this week. Like, I think when people are upset about green stopping,

Maybe, I'll tweet.

people that are upset, it's that the rough isn't penal, which is like, okay, that's what's created.

It's created as bizarre a golf where you don't even worry about the fairways. The, the rough's fine,

just, just hit it. And what, my point to that, touch a good lie and the greens are receptive. Like, that's fine. It's what it is, but it's, you know, it's not, it's not the best. It could be, I mean, yes, rough was more penal. That's fine. But what I was going to say is, when I've watched golf the last two days, I don't get the sense that anybody's pinning their ears back. Like, I saw a lot of Lucas Herbert. He made a ton of long puts. Like, it wasn't, like,

stopping the, you know, the ball stopping on the greens, but it wasn't like he was playing darts out there. And I didn't see any of Sam Burns' rounds. So I can't comment on that round. But with the rest of the guys, like, it didn't look like anybody was pinning their ears back. And if you were to say to me that the winning score here was going to be minus 18, you know, and I, to, to make it like apples to apples with like a Valhalla, you know, like a high score and birdy fest major. I'm like, dude, this,

I'll give you two shots today that I found like, I'll watch all day long. The first is Bryson's

approach into 14 today. Awesome drive. And he tried to carve one in there. It rolled right to the

peak of the hill, sat there for a second, and then rolled back around the edge of the bunker,

you know, that bunker on the right sides, like 20 yards short of the green. And it was just like, the perfect, like, example of the ball on the ground on the side and thin lines, because at that rolls over the other side, it probably rolls onto the green or, or, or whatever. And then Scotty's approaching to 17 might have been the coolest rubber of the green. It's rubber of the green of the center. I mean, he just, like, and it was set up with bones. He's like, Oh, my god, this is on such a good line.

Scotty's posing. It hits the ground. It bounces 90 degrees right up up like 10 feet into the Heather. And then he hits that unbelievable flop shot to 10 feet. Now, he doesn't pay off the birdy, but it was like, that's exciting, man. I don't know how else to put it other than, like, if you're watching the golf, like, that's, that's the difference to me. Is that like, man, Scotty could have bounced on the green and he's got a puffer eagle. But instead, he's got a gnarly ash chip for, you know,

for, uh, that, that no human can hold the green with. And that's just sick. So I, I don't know. I love it. Can I, can I give a Bryson update? Uh, this comes from KVV, uh, surreal scene. This is the quote in KVVs tweet. surreal scene here. Bryson walked by after 30 minutes in scoring, asked the reporters quote, "Are you guys having a good night?" And quote, a couple of people said, "Sure, are you?" He said, "Quote, I'm having a great night. I'm going to go hit some balls.

Uh, didn't answer if he's playing tomorrow, but now he's hitting balls on the rage." He signed a, he signed one autograph. If he doesn't play, that's a lot. That person needs to. And it was not his scorecard. He needs to go film a YouTube video over at Hillside,

uh, or Southport. He needs to. If he decides not to play. I think guys back to the, like, real quick,

I think it's been an awesome setup. I have no, I have no qualms. I'd like to see the green's dry out, and almost die tomorrow and Sunday. But that's, that's a minor, minor thing. And I, I'd also just like to, to congratulate both the D.P. World Tour official who was there and grant more. The, blivey's a scotsman, but he's the, the RNA's chief global golf alliance officer. And, uh, he was the one, he was, he was, he was, my bald headed friend who was out there with Bryson. Holding the line,

T.C. Exactly. These guys are, these are, are, are big time, uh, big time players for big time moments. I mean, I mean, anybody else would have, would have buckled under that. It's a great testament to the great man John Paramore. Yeah, that's kind of what was in my hand. He's smiling down on us. Yeah. T.C. I want to zoom back in on what you said about, like, the goods, like, I, I feel like this, you said the word set up. I feel like the scope of setup at the open championship is much smaller than

what we see at the US open in the P.J. championship, right? Like the, the, the, the, the set up is holocations, T's, uh, like they did a lot of stuff in the lead up to this when we were out there in early May, they had, uh, you know, sections of the fairway marked off that you don't want divots in one, and two had a bunch of ropes up for the rough as in, like, don't take your trellis do here. Certain areas of the rough, you weren't even allowed to play out of as in. We are doing all

we can to get the rough to grow up here. But what the RNA and this championship has never been

about is manipulation in some way. Like we, we, we're not going to see them come in and fertilize, I take that back. What there was a recent open where they did fertilize rough in some way. But like the idea, I figured which one of them that was, does that 2023 Liverpool, whatever it was? But like, you know, maybe lessons learned from that in terms of like we're not going to manipulate the golf course,

It's going to be, it's going to be played the way it's found.

all right, yeah, I love a proper test. I love like all, I feel like there's so much more pressure on

us set up when you're state side when the grass is green, when you're playing, our style of golf is, yeah, is a manipulated way of playing it. It's a completely different way of maintaining it, completely different turf to the point where like, yes, the rough is not that penal in this, but there's so much chest still to be played in avoiding bunkers, landing balls on the right path. As soon as you, it's happened so quickly, you see a ball curving the wrong way in the wind,

like when there's a little bit of wind there has been out there. Like, that's got no shot of holding, got no shot of holding to the point where the people are saying I'm seeing all these ball stop on greens and that shouldn't happen. It's like, dude, that's one of the good shots. Like,

we're watching mostly highlight tapes when we, when we tune in, if you've watched feature group

coverage, if you watch Jordan's beef play this golf course, you see how tight the lines can be and how how easy the rejection can be. And I'll just say like, appreciate this tournament for what it is. We have the three M next week guys. Like, if we are bad, I'm not talking to you. I'm saying that the social discourse today was when Lucas Herbert shot 62 today was was like, I couldn't believe it. It was like, dude, what a, I think we're watching two different golf tournaments. So I call it out.

Top 100 Rick. I'm going to Rick. I'm sad to take man. I put to take him down, man. Like, mad about the leaderboard. Like, this is a weird and quirky championship. All right. If you don't

like that, that's fine. You know, I'm not going to tell you that, but that's what this championship

is and has always been. I feel like we're crazy. Let's say that's no different than 25 years ago.

Right. Brian Watts is, you know, or someone like that. Yeah. Or even like like 21st and Lawrence and, you know, you always get some some names up there, man. Still twisted still twisted. Yeah, my point. Thank you for making my point. See, all of us forgot what it was. You made the point. See, uh, just asking you guys. Three D Ches. Uh, sorry. What, uh, do we have to go down the leaderboard? I'm all, I'm all

full on the mix on where we go with the show. It's been updated real quick. You could drop whatever. I was just trying to get that to get some sleep. You're going to be in the back of the bus. We'll see. I hope you see it tomorrow. Yeah. Go pack. Go pack by some unison. Go find my adapter. All those things. Good luck. Good luck. Cheers boys. How fun to see. We did have a grant lawyer chief referee for the RNA come in, uh, went through the

conversation with him and the key things that stuck out. The actions that Bryson took were accidental

not intentional. Uh, that's key that he stressed through there. But he did, uh, through, you know, accidental actions improve the conditions of the stroke that he was going to play. So he's assessed two stroke penalty and, uh, he eventually accepted signed a scorecard and went back out to practice where he's still out at the range now. Joel Beale said Bryson's agent spoke to a few of us said the RNA felt Bryson wasn't careful enough with where he stepped and then he improved his swing path.

When asked if he's playing tomorrow, agent replied that we'll see if Bryson shows up. Are you got smiley on live from out there like all shadowed out? Can't see it looks like a looks like it's one of those unsolved mystery documentaries, dude. We'll see if Bryson shows though. What really happened here on the fifth hole? Man. I don't know. That sounds pretty, pretty rational to me, Cody. That sounds like a pretty rational explanation. I'm just going to guess

that that, uh, certain corners are probably not going to feel that way, but uh, just don't think there's

much we could do about that. Do you think Bryson's being targeted because he's a live golfer?

Is that what you're saying, Beach? Uh, I'm just, I think maybe what we're going to see that take out there. For sure. I doubt they see that wouldn't be very consistent. It's not like those guys have had a victim complex for the last four years. I don't know. There's not a lot of what he eat. What about walking and so it's not a special victim. Randy, do you want a place that you want to be or not to be? Yeah, we had Johnny Rambo. Hocking clubs out there got a warning was not was not penalized

under the player conduct policy that that took down deer walking at, uh, at where was that PGA or US Open, US Open? Uh, your, your thoughts. So I'm saying not to be. I, what I saw was a frustrated club slam. There was, there were no innocent parties anywhere in the vicinity that that could have been hurt or affected by this. And I'm saying I totally agree with the warning. Oh, yellow card. Yeah. Wave it off. I agree with that. But it also does make it very

funny. I'd like, just who's making that call? Is it a, you got to throw the club a certain distance?

Is it, uh, how close is it?

The club's feed is good stuff. Another update in real time, uh, at Kevin Van Volkendberg.

I'm not joking right now when I tell you that Bryson is humming and singing a bit right now while he hits balls in the range. So we'll see his agent currently showing a Kyle Porter tweet on his phone about Windham Clark doing the same thing at the US Open. Oh, man. Which, I guess, he's trying to get his eye back in the in the game plan for sure. Which to your earlier question, like, what's the, what's the devil's advocate? What's your, your defense? Like, this is not how

these rulings work. But I think the strongest case is just like, yo, this happens all the time. Like,

that is where I think you're going to start to wait in and just like, me, okay, I wonder why you're calling this on me? You know, I do get, that's going to be the most credible version of that argument. It's just like, yo, this this happens every week. What about, what about is, indeed? Totally. Totally. It's a bad faith once too. Like, I don't, I don't think the Windham was in good faith. Like, I don't think that was the same situation, really. I thought, yeah, I don't,

I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't see the same thing there. It's the same. It wasn't the same, the same high-deft camera angle. Uh, yeah, is the biggest difference. But it wasn't that high to grass, either, and it wasn't like, he didn't like stand up behind the ball and line it up and take multiple steps in the same place. Like, Bryson did. I've turned it's doing him a favor by saying this is inadvertently of like, you know, it doesn't really matter. It's a two-shot penalty either way,

whether it's an invertant or not. But, um, oh, I think that bottle-wise, it, yo, I agree. That's lower. Another KV tweet, Bryson's agent is saying Bryson is 100% serious that he is not sure he will play tomorrow, plans to make the decision in the morning quote. He's a lot of things. He's not a cheater, which, uh, and quote, which again, distracting from the ruling here, Bryson. Like, nobody said your, this, the RNA is not said you're a cheater. All right. Like, you got penalized for something

here. That is not me. Like, you got penalized for breaking a rule here. There's not me. You can't show

up. Like, you cannot walk away from, you will, you will never live this down if you refuse to play

this out. Like, that would be one of the all-time moves in golf history. That's what I'm saying.

I think it's like, that's, kind of was hit me during that Truman Show moment. It's just, it's one of those like, oh, this is, this is one of the formative moments of the next decade here. This is right. This is a reference point forever. Bryd Kirster tweeted, uh, this must be one of the O. J. Chase was like, right? Yeah. Sure. Or for DC. Yeah. Uh, the odds have changed now. Uh, he's now unlocked probably if you're, if you're trying to get some action, plus 1200 Bryson's drop to Scottie,

your, your clear favorite of plus 550. I think we're going to see a lot of this, uh, coming out. But Michael Kim tweeting, I don't know if this is what we had in mind or he had in mind when talking about strategy referring to Bryson. I'm sure Bryson didn't do it on purpose. And it could be an angle, but it didn't look good. And it did look like his swing was less impeded camera angle might have screwed him here. So I think we're going to see a lot of camera angle depths of field. I saw,

you know, Peter cost us weighing in as well. I'm going to pull that one up. Unfortunately, still nothing on truth. So I don't know if it's made the situation around yet, but I'll continue to monitor. Sure. We've got a situation. Yeah. I love that he's going to sleep on it. Yeah. I think he's like, the decision to play really, really, uh, you know, juicing for content. Which I think the best content is playing. First 100%. Right. And that's right. I think I think

how come to that realization. I think he'll come to the fact that's like, you can high road, you can, what if you, what if you win? What if you play with some red or workshop the, uh, adversity narrative? Yeah. Which would play. Yeah. I think. 100%. Yeah. Because it's all in his, I mean, let's say the 30 outcomes, right? If, if you do play, you win. And then it's like, oh my god, look at what he overcame. What a triumph of the human spirit. You come up one shot, two shot,

short, and then you are the victim forever. And people will always talk about it. Or you fall

apart on the weekend. You're nowhere near. And you can always say, well, they totally dismantled my

whole tournament. Like, there's the only way he loses is if he doesn't show up. If he takes

all, he goes home. Yeah. Agreed. Agreed. God. So what, yeah, what happens if he, he's going to have a tea time set? What happens if he doesn't play does, does, who is he set with? Is he going to play by himself? We do not have round three tea times yet. I don't believe. That person has to play by themselves on a Saturday. That would be who finished first. See, Sam burn. He's going to be paired with Sam burns. I just,

I can't think of another golfer crossing their arms and saying to, I'm not pl...

I mean, that's just that. I don't think we need to double click on that for it's like, I'm, I'm not playing. I'm not playing tomorrow. I'm not playing tomorrow. I mentioned like, I mentioned the bra and getting called for a charge. I know. I'm not fitter than family. Yeah. I'm not fitter than family. Yeah. I'm not fitter than family. I'm not fitter than family. Yeah. I'm not fitter than family.

God. It's incredible. It's truly incredible. Even just threatening it is the most

briset move that's what I mean. Possibly a bad should. Man. Oh. Can't believe this is my life.

Can I, can I, I wasn't on last night. I, I did have some other thoughts just on burktail. Please. Please. I just, I like, I just wrote down, God, it looks so good in the late afternoon haze to the point where watching golf today, I'm like squinting at the TV almost the way that I would, you know, when you're out there in that setting, when it's that time of day, it's just, it's just popping for me on TV and the to the washed out browns with the shadows. And I don't

know, the look of of the links golf just does it for me. So, you know, I can understand if people are like, oh, this isn't penal enough or it's not, if it's not their type of golf, I get that, but it just, it is my shit. And I think even more so with burktail, I just, when people are on dunes and creating that amphitheater, like the natural amphitheater really adds to the open for me. So I'm starting to almost realize that in real time, like, you know, I like playing Hoi Lake, being there,

doesn't really have the same impact without the natural amphitheater of playing through the dunes.

So that's a, a big piece of it, too. I think I'm on that, you know, the, I've just been

thinking about this like with my own golf watching, and I'm sure a lot of people who are watching

now feel similarly, but there's always kind of one star of the week, right, whether that's,

like an actual player or the golf course or whatever. And I feel like for so much of my life, the star was Tiger Woods to the point where we kind of said this when we were in England, but to the point where rhythm, Hoi Lake, burktail all kind of like ran together for me. I had a really hard time setting them aside, because it was much more just like where's Tiger playing. This week did he win or did he not win? What did he, what did he do on 18? Which, you know, who was he chasing?

That kind of thing. I think with 2017 at Burktail, obviously who the star was, I was pretty focused on on that as the main story more than I was like this, this strategic outcomes of the, you know, 13th hole or whatever. I feel like now we've just spent 10 years where we've just both through like a birth of stars on the PJ tour and also through an interest in golf courses. I think we've got to this point where the, the courses are much, much, much more the star

and places like Burktail have just risen exponentially in my book on this kind of like most recent

lap around a bunch of these places. So that's what I walked away is like you, you start seeing it

in that afternoon light in the evenings and you're just like, it's, yeah, it's the star of the show, it's the thing for the week. And hopefully it's rising in a bunch of other people's books too, because it's, it's really good. The, the hard part is like the, like the, I've said this like the, maybe the weakest course on the road is Saint George's and it's not a bad golf course, like it's not a, it's not a, you know, that would be the best PJ beach event. Like there's

no bad ones and like the second worst one is a different, I don't even know what the second one

worst one is like they're, they're, the, the, the playfields very level on terms of all these golf courses like they all have different great features that make them great and special and I, I do not think there is one that doesn't deserve to host and open. Like that's the thing is like they're all just really, really, really, really good venues. Neil, sorry, you're more. Well, I was going to say, I, I really like that both the parfives come at the end of the round, 14, like late late in the round.

I should say, I, I think this, this finish sets up, it sets up for a good finish and then I think I think Kyle Porter may have written about this, but there, there are only two parfies, but there are other eagle opportunities out there. You know, you see it with the drive that Rory hit on nine, five, five would be the other obvious one where it's like, okay, there's still some places where guys can make some big ass decisions and earlier in the round and I think that's, that's also fun and

and if that leads to lower squat, I feel like it can lead to some train wrecks too. So I don't know the, and I'm, I've really enjoyed, I know that that 15 is new and that par three though, I'm really enjoying watching guys hit shots into there, and especially Tommy, for the big ass audience, it's been seen. I just think that, yeah, 14 through 18 is going to be a good finish. I can already, I got almost like, sense it, like I've been locked in on those approach shots on 14 and 17,

Then 18 is just a real deal decision, like the drive price and hit was unbeli...

right down the shoot, man, and it's like, that's a risk and, you know, if you want to lay back,

you still got to navigate these like pinball shoots to not run in those bunkers. So yeah, I'm, I'm fired up for the weekend. Seeing that on 17, I don't know if they showed this, I hate to be world-feed guy, but I did have to rip cord. If I'm going to watch 12 hours of golf, man, I gotta, I'm not watching them, you see anymore. I'm sorry, I can't do it. I was watching the world-feed and when Scottie teed off on 17, they showed that, like, I don't know if it was a crane or drone,

or what, but it was moving, and it was like, almost like panning the 17th fairway, showing how big the dunes were and how small that fairway is and how fast his ball was running. I was like, man, this is, this is, this is the crowd, this is it, the crowd, people are cheering for Tommy

Tommy, it just birdied 15 and then gasped it on 16. It was just peak, peak stuff today for,

for about a hour and a half. It was, and the visual of the grandstands into 18 looks great with the Artecco glove house, you know, they they frame that up really nicely. So it just yet, I don't know, the image is the open definitely make you feel stuff. And then I keep thinking, I'm like, oh man,

it's like, probably five p.m. It's like, no, it's, it's, you know, it's 2 p.m. You know, I think you're

ahead of the game, it's a great feeling. So I, I'm, I'm fired up, baby. And then how do we get this, this theater, this, you know, no audio theater at the end of today? It's great. I'm, I'm going to go check it right now because I feel like I've, I don't know if I've ever done a pod where my, my heart rate has been this high. Let's only 91 beats per minute right now. You know, I figured that out. I went to my Woop app. The no-ling of podcasts is brought to you by

Woop. It's the wearable design for lasting progress. It combines 24/7 health insights with personalized coaching to help improve how you sleep, train and feel, starting day one, wearing your Woop, daily improves your health. It's got key metrics like through a coverage, your sleep, your strain, health span, the health span thing. But that was, I've made a lot of life changes recently, guys. I've changed my diet. I've changed my bedtime. It is all been Woop driven. It was telling me

I'm aging faster than my actual age is. Exactly what components that is. I got to get my strength training up. I could get that little, my little baby heart calm down at night. And I've seen like the payoff come. Like my resting heart rates that's it's down a bunch. I've slowed my aging curve literally through Woop. And I cannot, I don't think I would have been able to do it without like the the real time insights that it gives me. So, my need to get you in this in the Strenuous group.

Randy's discovering some cheap strain with that with the weighted vest. I think you don't ever

end a day. Yeah. I go looking. We was rocking. I should hoop for 15 minutes. I'm believing. I'm going to I'm going to ten plus train challenges a month. We were or hunt and cheap strain right now. I got to go get some after this. It's been great. It's been awesome. It's truly helped me change. Turn my life around. It's how I feel saying this right now. I had to join.woop.com/NOU to get started with Woop on a free one month trial that includes the hardware. And it completely

unlocked app experience. And if you don't love it, you can send it right back. No questions asked. If you already have a Woop joint, our Woop with code uh COMM-NOUNOU gonna COMM-NOUNOU. What now guys? I don't know how to. I know we briefly went down the Leer Board, but I don't want like Cam Young has shoved off the page for me. Like I feel like he's been they showed a good amount of his golf and every time he pops on the screen, it's like very loud.

Like whoa he's hitting the shit out of the ball. Like I saw him hit a drive in a five on Thursday. It was like damn the ball seems to be coming out the exact window he's looking for. Three under today. Sitting T2. We haven't mentioned his name yet, so I'd call him out. Obviously Sam Burns, you know, shot 62 today. We didn't really see much of it, but he's a mega threat. Shot 62 and I know like anybody who's fallen the tournament is very closely

is probably up on this, but if you're not and you're just kind of peeking at it at the end of the day. Also it wasn't really supposed to be here, you know. Like had very much planned a not playing the tournament. Hasn't played well at the open in the past. Doesn't like said this today that he doesn't really like links golf all that much and was planning to just completely take this one off. Because I think his wife's due date was like today or yesterday or something.

Ended up having their second child like two weeks early and his wife was like yeah, go for it.

You need to go play the Scottish Open warm up and get ready to go and just I don't know

kind of a be where the be where the freed up golfer, you know, I think the links golf can do that to you a little bit too especially. He's like I say this as much as I possibly can, but man go watch him in person. He hits he hits the shots. He should play links golf better than he has in his career. And hopefully this is the light bulb going on for him a little bit. And he closer to the 30 didn't in part 14, but birdies on 10, 11, 13 and then 16, 17, 18. So just big big kick to finish

Heading into the weekend.

but moving down the list that that group at minus four is early lurking. That's great.

Big time man. There's some dudes down there. Yeah, including Tommy lad who like as you said, DJ hit the shots today, but Scottie didn't his longest putty made the day was eight, three inches they said on it was a par putty made on 18. What was the farthest he hit it from the whole the day about 15 feet? Like I mean, it was just it was just nuts. That's got to be really the worst week of the shot. You imagine doing that for six hours out there is just constantly having birdie

butts that you don't you don't make is got to be maddening the 23 Scotty watch today. It was yeah, he's like yeah, he's losing obviously losing strokes with the putter and lost like two and a

half today or something like that. Really in that stretch from eight, nine, 10, 11 is when it got

really ugly of just like too. He had so many good shots in there and walked away with absolutely nothing.

Yeah, there's three of those guys today. It was like Scotty ROM and who else was I looking at?

It was just those two, but oh Alex Fitzpatrick all outside the one 20 in putting today and still kind of hanging around up there. Good bounce back from Ludwig as well at four under. So he's T-17 after T-C renounced to me as if we didn't get to that. Lourdes in the mix T-17 Randy's boy Shane. He's at three under as well. JJ spawn at three under and Pearson Cooley hold fast with even the day at three under.

Yeah, Patrick Reed getting it in at four under today. It was exciting to see the C. Reed there. My guy Harry Hall after hanging up like an 80 yesterday, it's got 67. I think Patrick airing did shot 69 or something after after shooting 80 something yesterday. Just some weird ones.

But I guess right out of you want to do this now or if you want to wait till Sunday or you know,

the person going the other way, this brings me no pain. I am not co-signing your petition here. This is a U thing. You did say that this was going to be kind of the last chance for Jordan Speed. I think we got our answer as far as his status. Today, I don't know if you have anything you want to say on that for a hit. Yeah, let's make this official. If I could ask you guys to take off your caps, I think that would provide some some respect. Jordan Speed, you know, it had to come

to an end sometime 32 years. I think what will be important is not to remember how it ended, but to celebrate how we got here. So many good memories. You know, who can who can forget the

precocious young man that charmed Augusta, right? Records setting to win his first masters.

I certainly know getting to tweet at Craig Kessler was a highlight of my career, really. I thank him for that. I just so many, so many nice moments, you know, telling Michael Greller to go get that ball, the writer cup highlights. It just is, I want to focus on the good and the positive and the lasting impressions that Jordan has left us with. I hate that his time with us has been cut short. I don't think any of us would have guessed we'd be saying goodbye at this time,

but eventually everybody says goodbye. And so we salute you Jordan. We'll miss you. We thank you. Guys, I don't know if you want to offer a quick memory, something that's still out to you. I know he touched a lot of people, but now would be your opportunity, please. It's feel a little like Verizon. I'm not doing it. I'm not doing this. I'm not, I'm not talking about it. You're choosing not to participate.

No, I think this is bullshit. I mean, you know, a guy who lived on the edge, we thought he lost some, thought we lost many times before pebble, you know, there's been some close calls, some situations. I just, you know, personal one for me. We made me feel bad at math.

Sure. You know, it's always, you know, jokes, you know, always remember that.

You know, just a lot of laughs with Jordan. So, self, yes, we should celebrate. Renda, the putty made in 2015 at the open championship on the 16th hole. When he was trying to chase down the group didn't end up in the playoff. He would proceed to bogey the 17th hole and fail to birdie 18 and miss the playoff by one shot, but the putty made from about 50 feet on the 16th green to tie the lead at the time.

Look like he was going to creep.

would never forget. I was on a train. I was, I left Saint Andrews that morning.

We're back to Amsterdam. I was on a train in Amsterdam. Nobody else watching on their phone. I left and I screamed on this train when he made that put. And I will, I will always remember that. But I'm like the age I will participate today, because I 77 tied David Duval this week. It's inflated. It's inflated. He refused to have people look for his ball on 17. Yes, he's the signing things about right turn around.

He should have been three, four shots better than that, but he was trying to keep pace of play up. He lost two balls on 17. Who could say? I think he just said. Okay, I'll just drop one. I mean, yeah. Let's just keep it moving boys. I'll just throw it out here. Don't bother looking. I was right about here. Good. Well, you guys good with this.

Jordan, we salute you. I thank you. I'll never forget you. And with that, I think we

would put them in the ground. Anywhere you want to send donations, Randy, and Louis Flowers? Well, I really wish we would have had an AT&T sponsorship on tonight's show, but time's life doesn't work out exactly how you want to do it. Maybe in Louis Flowers take the pledge. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, thank you. There we go. There we go. No, seriously, where does he go? I guess it's time for some change. What's the change in a look like?

It's got to be something. And I don't know what it is. It's not Greller. No, that's not what I'm saying.

I have no earthly idea. I don't know. I don't know. It's never felt for a hero. It's like I'm saying.

I'm serious. Like anything should be amazing. I think I saw somebody online saying that he should go on like an Aaron Rogers like I don't think that's the worst. Yeah, I don't think that's the worst. I like that idea. Yeah. Darkness retreat, something like that. Yeah. Flush the system. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe change up the look. You know, I know. Sure. Just resign with with under armor, but that would, I would maybe help. I don't know. Don't think it's going to hurt. Yeah. I agree.

I think just a big long break. Just a full-on reset feels like a good place to be.

Bryson's still hitting balls in his 10 14 PM local time. It's falling. He's going to come up. Yeah. He's going to come up the operation. God. I'm going to make him take me off this range. I'm not fucking leaving. Shit. Man. She'll be visits a miss cut. Some other miss cuts. Victor Hovelin. Just quite an unsurious effort. Oh, Ryan's voice. Yeah. We'll browse through this real disgusting brothers today. I just

like, Vic, what are we doing? Just completely unsurious people. He and speed. You know, I'm, I'm, I'm tracking both of my drafted both of them. It's like, yeah. That's on me. What do I expect? I expect going to be adults grownups. And now that we, we can't do that. Yeah, miss, we'll browse through this hop on stink. Miss the cut three of four times this year. The majors Tom Kim miss the cut. He was one of my storylines to watch. No, I'm sorry,

man. This week, we do, um, I apologize for dub dub miss the cut as a dober specter. You know,

all over, all over that one couldn't have been, couldn't have been more wrong. Cody, I think

obviously shared some of the blame in that as well. But I was wondering if you're going to start throwing Cody out of the bus. No, no, no, no, no. Cody was, Cody's doing a hard job. You know, that's a tough. He's thrown into the fire at the last minute. You know, I think it shows. Cody, it's not so, you know, it's not so easy. You're throwing a lot of shade at me in the, uh, and how bad I did at the master's draft. Uh, you know, scoreboard, man. It's not so simple.

We, uh, we had the scores if you're able to show them Cody, or I can show them if you want. Uh, what, what, what are you talking to shit about? Did you win the U.S. Open? Yeah, by a mile. But you, you didn't want to focus on that. And when you're drafting for me, you said, I think, DJ is proving to be not so good. Let's go.

Meals at first at 2.2 million right now in the backs of Cameron Young, who Cody could have

taken instead of wind them color. I'm eating into second TC third Randy fourth and DJ, uh, and fifth by quite a bit. Um, does that chip in a chair with Xander? All right. And then we'll leave. You know, really, make sure you put on 18. Make the cut of the number. We love that. Again, it's going to be good tomorrow morning. Yeah, the wind is down again in the morning. Like, there can be some more chance for some some earlier guys get out there. Oh, god. I was going to be all

pumped, uh, see who had Bryson, but nobody has them on their team. Nobody picked them. Oh, my god, that's incredible. I, I discovered we have a little redistribution of wealth

Coming my way, but they're really not.

and he had some thoughts after round, miss cut. That's a, that was a, a big miss there and just and Rose. Uh, bossy, bossy, bossy, yeah. Laced out. Let me push, man. Don't, tough week for the bloke and chaps. I don't know what holes on it. I don't know if it made the NBC broadcast, but he had like, he missed like a ten footer and he just like full swing, like, swipes his putter across like if you had a neck injury going, I don't,

that was not uh, uh, not the expectation I would expect was somebody with a neck injury, and she was like, Shula Dhamberino Jesus. Yeah, it was like a very out of character over reaction,

if I may say, but yeah, Rose. He loves to dog out there for a second. Right. I mean, I think I said,

sorry, that was gonna be the highlight of the day. If I told you, I mean, I mean, I, I mean, I would have been happy with just that, uh, Randy, you're guy, you're guy walkie and officially go at home. Again. Oh, yeah. God, you reach so hard on, on keen. That's on me. That's on me.

Honestly, he got walking and speed, Cody, and we're just, but I will say, Randy, just remember

this for next year when you send me your picks for the third year, and Rose, just don't let it be Victor. Okay. Yeah, what am I doing? Maybe there's something in the air, I'm hangry myself. I am hangry myself. Yeah. What is what Colin do today? He buggy three last four. I think, uh, just fall back to 200. Okay. Shot even today, but yeah, he had it gone and then finished very poorly.

So he's in shouting distance, though. Yeah, four back of second. You know, yeah,

let's, please, he's there. Do you want to do how far back is too far back? Yeah, I'd love it. Just one quick Bryson thing is he's still on the range with a ton of media that's out there. Obviously, waiting, seeing if he's going to stop, I believe there's a little bit of heckling back and forth that Bryson asking the journalists out there if they want candy snacks. Are you not in your team? Uh, anything. We're going to be here for a bit, just just making sure

I'm looking out for you guys. Gosh. Uh, after not speaking to them after they're out yesterday. Well, and I'm sure he's not going to speak to them after this today, but hey, it's good.

I would say how far back's too far back, honestly, because there was a, I don't know who said this.

He too is earlier earlier. Yeah, so on a golf channel, maybe this is either McGinley or

Brandell said Bryson did everything, but lay down behind it or take a weedwacker to the tall grass behind it. Multiple infractions. Absolutely condemning. Absolutely clear. I don't really know what he was arguing about. A weedwacker. Uh, Randy, I'm stuck between minus one or minus two. Um, as two, I mean, minus one feels seven strokes, but, you know, you got, it worries it minus one. You showed a little heart today. If you're minus one, you've got 37 golf

versus I know. It's a lot of people, but it's like the numbers, you know, there's there are eight under's out there, you know, with, yeah, it's true. Burns jumped up a hundred and one spots today. Yeah, you know, and you got two rounds left. So I'm, I'm going to say minus one, because there's

like some, some guys that can get hot at minus one, I think that's still in play. I'm going to

join you, Neil, legally, legally, legally, legally, legally, legally, legally, legally, minus one, still in it. I mean, I, you know, but other big things, I won't be putting my money with it. Justin Thomas, like, those guys can get super duper hot. And if Roy goes out in 29, we can play that one. Who knows? It's good to say, the only guy that's like, at even, I mean, zander, but, and Griffin's at minus one, another guy that I feel like can get super duper hot.

Yeah, I wouldn't feel comfortable cutting the minus one guys just because of some of the fire power. So I think I'm with you guys as well. Yeah, I would, I would agree with that. And if Roy wasn't there, I'm not sure I would say, I think anybody else, of course. Yeah, my Roy simple, of course. Is that, is that factoring in here for sure? Like, I think he's the only one at minus one that's in it would be my, and in it being relatively speaking, because he's

not in great position at all. When probability is of right now 1.4% for Roy, but, notably, that is better than everybody sitting at minus two. And everybody, except Shane Lauer, he had an Ludwig sitting at minus three. So I'm just going to say, there's some slow cars. If you can get some clean air, man, you can, there's a couple of clunkers up there. You can, you can zoom fast, I think. There's a lot of guys, but it might be gumming up the track, but I think you can, I think you

get past them. There's a, is long, long ass way to go in this golf turn, if you all look at the probabilities. I just saw the highlight, but one thing we missed was the, like,

Or footer that Lucas Herbert missed on 18 did.

thought. Tough. Tough. He didn't get a good interview afterwards. I enjoyed listening to him. He was very, very aware of the history. I think he said after the round, he started thinking about it

on like the third hole. It a great story about his dad. I hope I'm getting this right. His dad

sharing, like, waking him up one year when it looked like Chad Campbell was going to break the

scoring record at the masters. And he's just, that's what he was thinking about out there today.

It was good. Very aware of the situation, not that one's better or not, but versus San Burns, who was just like, oh, yeah, they just told me that that's the record for out. So yeah, just, he was, I love when, I love when people are, people are, and they're present to the, with a gravity of the situation. But also because of that, it's like a five footer three footer in the last two because of that. So, yes, I, he was nervous on that plug, but he's like, I,

I hit a good plug. Like it just didn't break. I thought, like, I thought it was going to be. Yeah, he actually made so many pots today. Made so many pots. And he didn't burn either of the

part five. Incredible too. Yeah, crazy.

Anything else you guys want to get a bad day in track or land again? One of the speed trackers said, uh, he's a broken clock that's not even right two times a day. Uh, that was, you know, it's got pretty bleak there. You mentioned Matt Fitzpatrick's quotes. He said, uh, hit decent shots, gotten no luck and come away with four over par. That's the way Link's golf is. You need to have that rubber the green sometimes. And I didn't have it this week. That's the way Link's golf is.

A lot of luck of the draw and rubber the green. Hell yeah. Yeah. If you're pro golfer,

I support having that attitude. I don't have to agree with you. But I think that's how you become a

pro golfer. Sure. Yeah, it wasn't my fault. Yeah, I think that's, I think also know what you're signing up for for this week. And there know that you got to be able to bounce back from that

happening. Like I did. Yeah, I didn't say like 18s a shit hole in it. Such a shit hole.

Are you saying? Uh, our guy Maxwell, Bertie's 15, Eagle 17, uh, didn't need it to make the cup, but a nice par put on 18 with a fist pump. He's at even par happy for him. Matt's just shout that out. Uh, I would say the only other thing I had my notebook saw it was, uh, it hit me watching a bunch of those balls flirt with that fence that the kind of spectator fence on 18. That needs to be not only does that need to be the OB line. We need to pinch

in all OB lines and professional golf is kind of what I just was thinking about that and I need to say this the right way. But like you know how easy it is for me to hit a ball OB. Like it's if there's OB up the right, it's all I'm thinking about and it's so easy for me to get the ball there. These guys have to hit such a bad shot to get it to the OB. They hit it OB so rarely that I'm not saying we need to have the same, you know, I'm not saying proportionally, they need to

hit it OB as much as I do, but we need to pinch it in for them a little bit more so that it feels a little bit more like when we play tight golf courses. I do play a qualifier on Monday and we need the starters like guys hit a big quick to hit a provisional for pace and we need more provisional than play as a proxy for this. I'm reloading guys just to just so we don't have to go back to the T. I think it's going to find it. We need to hit the provisional without

there finding 100%. Getting reps. I also would just, I don't know if we get to such a bleak spot with the USDA and the RNA and the rollback and all that, I appreciate them just hitting the nuclear option and just be like great then we'll just put oh we're going to put OB on both sides of every hole and we're just going to pinch it all all the way in. Do you know how like you guys can twist yourselves up and knots about whether the ball goes farther or everybody's better athletes or

there is no debate that the ball goes straighter. The equipment in general goes straighter now than it did 50 years ago, 40 years ago, 30 years ago, 20 years ago, just keeps going straighter and straighter. We can pinch the OB even more. Says I. That's that's all I have to say on that issue. I don't think you need it on every hole. I can agree with you though. I'm like this one where if you're going to put a fence there like it's a negotiation. Yeah, that's a boundary. Like I

it's been clear from the age when you got fences in pro golf like it should be clear. I don't yeah I see every time I you know early in the week when I see that fence I'm like oh is that OB like all that that must be OB on the other side of that and then I learn it's not. It's like oh why you have a fence there then like just put a rope it like that should be a difference between fences and ropes I don't know but um totally but also it's just one of those things where it's like

how could any if we bifurcate how could anybody enforce a model local rule it's like great we'll just get a bunch of white stakes instead of red stakes that's super easy you just put them up when you have a pro tournament. I think we can solve that that seems like that's not going to ruin the game you know and if we don't if we want to you know if nobody wants to play ball maybe we need to

start enforcing some real penalties here I think that's what it's going to take yeah well I think

it's going to be really important yeah yeah I think what would have T.C. chuffed and I'm chuffed is like

The RNA the USDA let's let's be about some things like let's have a spine sta...

on on stuff like I want to see them be the leaders of the game and at least at least you get to see

a little of that today totally is now 10 27 p.m. local time the sun set I think at nine

thirty three or something like that Bryson's still hitting balls on the range here at real burq does we as we one of his men is a light guy shining on him right now as he's as he's doing one of the most performative things I can ever recall a professional golfer doing like guy phone guy yeah there's a tripod guy there's there's four guys out there with him right now up he's reaching now for the driver he's moved made it all the way the driver he's not done yet my goodness

that I silly question to wrap this up as we move does he play tomorrow yeah I think that people

labyrinth and I bet he fucking wins this thing I would not surprise me either honestly he's playing very good it's not like cam young I really like where he's sitting right now I got I got I got I got

up some cam young shares this morning and I'll be I'll be rooting for that one I think is where a lot

of my energy is going to go here Cody will you join me on that one before you are you asking permission now we just will you join me on that so I'm not rooting I just know it's it's just one of those things if he was going to withdraw I think he was going to do it tonight if not Bryson tends to play pretty good when he's a little bit red ass so yeah well let's storyline going into this week in man holy shit what an exciting day of Bryson content give away tonight of course was using

hashtag Bryson I'm going to draw right here hundred dollars off at the no laying up pro shop thank you to the no laying it up team for that course Kush 85 could be my couture for all we know Cody well with the results of that poll did I see it like 85 15 people thought Bryson should have gotten the penalty in the chat there you go I can't see it 70 yeah 79 21 said yes in the chat is last last thing I'll leave you guys with it would be view this any differently if it was Jordan

Speath in this situation yeah I wouldn't be a big to do but like what we say it's a penalty like definitively as I think so it and again it's like the accidental or not it's a penalty right so that's the yeah you know I I don't I don't think I would you know great I'm just like a played mark right that's because I'm just not gonna play mark what I will say is that there's been multiple players championships where I've been walking around the grounds at saw grass with T.C.

and we we I remember he was on this with Scotty early because they all have a tendency of

of doing a lot of stuff around a ball and T.C. is always been on this block more so a lot of

the matching like pulling pulling seven would and then hitting seven iron that's that's the classic

this one is I think this one is is separate that's why the map yeah for sure this one this one's

easier to enforce than like club being put behind the ball at a dress is very different than like stomping down grass that's gonna be in the path of your swing reading the lie a lot of a lot deep reading of the lie I'm not lining pulling quotes from the lie well I do want to get it out entertaining the lie before you're right congrats to Cooch 85 whoever won that please email me Cody and the link up to come we'll get you set up there I'm going to rewind live from and watch

every minute of this for sure yeah yeah thank you everyone for tuning in maybe a record viewership for a Friday afternoon yeah it was already gonna be a great day at a great show and Bryson made it a hell of a lot more interesting so thank you to Bryson for that while you're here my as well hit the the subscribe button here on the no laying up podcast YouTube channel join us tomorrow after play wraps as well as well in Sunday I'll of course be recapping both of those days

as well so thank you everyone for tuning in thanks to our friends at title list high noon and will Cody one of the ones at twos matt on the social we'll see you back here tomorrow cheers cheers
