[MUSIC]

>> I think that's better than most, how about it?

And it's better than most, better than most. [MUSIC] >> Expect anything different. [MUSIC] >> Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No-Lang Up live show presented by

Titleist Ryan Fox. Is your open champion, Solie here, just in Shambles, absolutely devastated by the final result.

I'm not even going to let you guys do it, I'm taking it, I'm going to get right out in front of it

before you guys do your whole bit, do your whole thing. Hello, TJ, how are you? >> Hey, I'm great, Solie, as hard as you've been on Foxy over the years, today's a day for celebration. >> You know, it's just to put my beef aside to not pledge to you, all of my hate for Foxy. I'm putting aside completely tonight.

All the ways he's wrong me in the past, we are going to completely forget about all of that. And I'm going to give the guy his flowers tonight, okay? >> Oh my God, what a day of sport, man, that's as good as it gets, I was a giddy. I was absolutely giddy watching that finish, can't wait to talk about it.

>> Literally the only thing I wish was that it wasn't like came young, those hearty just ripped out.

Like if it was, you know, someone else on the board, I think I would be, I've been through the move. I wanted to play off, but that was one of the most epic finishes we're going to see in a major T.C. Is here, of course, hello T.C. >> Hello, Solie, I'm just, I'm happy to invite my guy to welcome my guy Foxy into the brotherhood. Not only the links master brotherhood, the links master at Berkdale, brotherhood.

>> The fact, listen, if you've listened to this podcast for a long time, you know the jokes, you know the inside jokes, the bits, how far back, some of the Foxy stuff goes. The fact that we were there a couple of months ago, taken fake Clare Junk photos of T.C. That same bunker and fucking Foxy is your champion, golfer of the year is just, I had such a fun time today. Can't explain it, it was doing so good.

>> It was an epic finish before we get there.

The knowing up podcast is brought to you by the new Titleist GTS drivers.

Complete game changer this driver.

I live very, very close to a golf course that has OB that lines every single hole and it's not a golf course that makes me want to go play. Until I put this driver in play and I no longer think about the OB at all. It's completely transformed, my enjoyment of the game of golf. So go get yourself fit for a GTS driver at TitleS.com. That's true, everything I just said is completely 100% true and not in the script for the record.

So guys, I had it they had this year on on data golf that he Ryan Fox gained 2.12 strokes on the field with his birdie par birdie finish. The cops to that in major championship history. Keegan Bradley 2.89 at the 2011 PGA pain steward 2.51 at the 89 PGA, Nicholas did it with 2.4 at the 86 masters. He found a wrong. That's the company that Ryan Fox is in with his birdie par birdie finish, including a bad bad bad bad boy rolling into the bunker on 17. He could have birdie 17 as well, because he recovered so nicely from that.

Just an absolutely, he grabbed this thing, he grabbed this thing and took it when everybody else was fondering in the late wave. Yes, he did. It was unbelievable, man. T.C. I, the floor is yours, this is your guy. I thought the up and down on 15 was the peak of just mental toughness going right in, splashed it right out.

He plays so fast, he gets to it, he gets to his work, he doesn't ruin 80s, he's not bitching about getting a bad break. He goes in, he splashes it out, hits a great chip, makes the pot gets up and down. That just showed, the amount of heart and just resolved that that shows in the moment without feeling sorry for yourself one time is remarkable. I felt like all day, he just, he wanted the moment, he hit the shots, man. Like the job on 18 was just, I mean that was immense, right, and I think in the approach of the 17 and even the totally.

The approach of the 16 and the puddle of the 16, even the T shot he hit on 17...

He just rolled a foot too far and then hit a great punch out in a great approach from there, like he hit literally all of the shots coming in.

And I, gosh, it's just hard to honestly think back to somebody that like close the door over like an hour, like that coming down the final three hole stretch of a major like the last time.

Everybody else seemed to want it, right? Nobody else would just like, like there were plenty of opportunities for guys to make pots or, you know, hit the shot and nobody else seemed to rise to the occasion. And I would go back to Foxy 62 and the, the shot he hit out of the bunker on, you know, Saturday midday was just like that, that shot out of the bunker on 18, like that is pushing all of your chips and even before you realize you're at the final table. It's fantastic. I love I like I was I was enthralled and invigorated watching that. I just love it when somebody goes out and wins it and they play to win and they're fucking fearless.

I was so ready for a playoff like I was looking forward to a playoff because I enjoyed this week so much like I don't want it to end. I wanted to keep going and I'm in my head. I'm just like there's no way he's going to burn you like nobody burn you 18. Well, there's no chance and he just stepped up and it started with that T shot. I mean, you hear pro golfers talk about this all the time. I had great commitment. I was really committed to my shots. I've genuinely never seen more expert like from the outside looking in. You can just feel it through your TV screen. Like that guy has the most committed to that driver swing that I've ever, I was like an audible holy shit moment when that came off the club face and credit to Sam Burns who also hit an unbelievable T shot in 18 as well.

But yeah, then he stepped up and hit the midiron. He stepped up and hit the put very quickly as you mentioned 20 to seconds 22 seconds after birds got the ball out of the hole like it felt faster than that. It's so ridiculous.

It's just crazy. Those are the guy like you just don't ever see that person win it. You know, it feels like it just feels rare. It feels worthy. It was just, it was just awesome. That's kind of everything I'm looking for the open championship. If you thought this was a clunker as I heard while talking about where it's not going to. We're not going to see things the same way, but that fine, but man, I just couldn't wipe this while off my face all day. Can we just just summarize how incredibly unlikely this was. He was 75 to one at the halfway point in this tournament. Justin Ray had it. He was T 56 52 after 36 holes and it is the largest 36 hole come back by position to win a

Men's major in history in the history of the game. Nobody has been farther back at the halfway point in one of major. It was Ryan Fox in an open championship like they're just an

Absolutely unimaginable sequence of events over the last two days. And it's incredible too that there's there's four guys shot 62 this week

and the winning score was minus 10. Like three guys shot 62 this week. The winning score was minus 10. I think that's a credit to

Berkdale of like it's it gives in it takes and it's in it's absinit flows and it keeps you honest and it may not be Like people getting punished out of the rough like, you know, a lot of people want to see, but I thought even like Sam Burns on the stretch today that rough up the right side of 17 or 18 like that was I was I think it was on 17 that was serious rough like it's it's just a little nicks and scrapes that kind of add up over the course of a week which is I think what we were hoping for as well. But back to Foxy man

I just I think it's very rare that like you talked to people you know in New Zealand in the states in the UK and two man everybody's like dude he's like the nicest guy you'll meet like he's just he's a sportsman his like he like his dad's a legend his like like he comes from a great family um and he I don't know it's just it's like it's good to see good people

win stuff like this it like it doesn't always happen and um it like there's just he just seems like a

proper dudes dude like he just seems like I'm a pint and the opposite the complete opposite of a pampered fuck like in like the complete opposite of the modern torporo in terms of just you know the way he carries himself and just the simplistic what I don't know much about him I don't know him at all but like just the relatively simplistic way he carries himself and just matter of fact way he plays the game and

handles himself with media and you just have never heard a bad thing about him it just makes it

uh I don't know doing all that in the final group two is just something else man I mean that's we were talking about last night he shot 62 and it was the getting was good yesterday morning and it could play different environment and then shot the 68 today in the final group watching Sam Burns have all kinds of problems right next to him and a lot of guys you know I haven't all the waiting he had to do with the guys in front of him it just uh that was a major we're going to

Remember for for quite some time incredible run of major winners we've had ov...

last I'll say I want to say on that on those 62's T.C. and we talked about this a little bit early in the week but if you don't listen to all the shows during the week it's like it wasn't like there were 62's and like 63's right behind it and 64's right behind it like the 62's were that and I get some people don't like low scores that's fine that I'm not going to try to convince you what's alike but I would say to that is like to your point about complimenting birthday

out of that the fact that at least offers that up makes it a really interesting watching like you can go when came young got on offense today it was like oh dude he could get this hold now he get this one and then when you start struggling like Burns was today I was like oh god he's got no shit like he's going to get butt he's going to get bone by that hole that I thought can good birdy because how good he was hitting it the the line was in the really really really good place

with Berkdale I think and yeah I I I kind of get a little bit of the overreacting to the

low scores but man I think this golf course held up and identified a proper champion and the beefing up at that 18th hole kind of defined this tournament really I mean they can young drove it into a bunker that wasn't the same size and a little bit different location their prior and that cost him and he makes bogey and we saw a ton of people struggle with that t-shirt over the course of the last four days and Foxy stepping up and stripping that one and earning

that birdy man that was that was theater like that was a really really really stern 18th hole which is kind of what we've been asking for more at major championships and he passed the test and

it gives a great moment. The got it first of all got credit the members for that bunker thank you to

them the it's it's it's I think you said it very well saw it were like the not all this everything would felt very in proportion this week where it's like if you see a number on a leader board

62 that you don't like you got to look at what else is going on around it and Foxy's around yesterday

it was the best round of the day by three full shots there wasn't a million 62s out there Sam Berners shot the second best round of the day way back in the afternoon and like deserved every square inch of it it was just if you're watching the shots it was it was awesome if you're watching the leader board I could see it doesn't feel cheap yeah nothing about a felt cheap and he made every Foxy made everything yesterday and kind of earned it and you could kind of see as the

tournament went on how much harder it got to make puts you know all of those different things it all just kind of felt like it was it was all working together and then you got as soon as it somebody got off you know off their run like came young you said it got on an absolute heater this

morning and when he did miss it was always like dude he's going to have to be creative and how he

gets this up and down and he's going to have to really earn it to keep the momentum going and when you didn't do it we saw what happened with Tommy like he had a nice fiery start and then you can get off the track pretty easily so I would see who came on the back where he had everything going and all of a sudden just misses in the wrong spot on 16 and it's like man you're you're done now your momentum is gone you didn't you're not going to answer the challenge and Foxy just

kept doing it over and over and come back to to what you're saying earlier too I mean he's he's almost 40 he looks like a dad you would see a Costco just like rocking up with a big thing a bottle of water and a you know some discount booze or something like it's just it's I just love everything about it he seems like it it seems like the entire world of golf of professional golf is going in this direction and Foxy is from so far over here that it's just you I don't know

how you can do anything but just have a massive smile on your face for it he's he's been through he's like one of those guys you look at and you're like man tell me I would love to sit down and have some beers just tell me where your career started and all the twists and turns that it's been through all the different tours you've played all the different bumps and grinds that you've had to do to to get to this point it's just it's awesome man I I'd nothing but respect for that kind of

career and he didn't start playing the game to lose seven ice going yeah but you know another answer to the modern yes guys he made four hundred and fifty eight feet of pots this week I was number one in the field I know that really gets gets ready at two three pots

brandy just got a week old friend there to hear that but like I think the other thing with

burqdale is the sequence of holes like I loved what they did with four today where they bumped that that pin up they shortened the hole and it was like cool like this is it's a shorter hole but this is a trickier spot or I thought six was great all week I thought eight eight great hole

and then like as it kind of ramps up like that that pressure ramps up and you don't get your first

par five until until 15 and so you're just kind of like chomping at the bit but then it's a three shot and then 17 feels like last chance kitchen and then you know and then 18 is like oh my gosh like this is all right this is uh this is like trial by fire like I got to hit the shots there's no

Shortcuts at all and and like you got to hit either you got a driver or you g...

damn good second shot and play for par and so for him to birdie 18 and that fashion was just and like it was so cool to the way that all the fans like I mean he was saying like they were just immensely in favor of him but without diminishing and like you know anybody that he was playing

against I think that that's I don't know it says something I think best best fans and golf it's uh truly

like like I think there's something that with him that resonated to the fans and Southport and there was don't seem like very easy people to bullshit totally it just the shots have come on Foxy lad to the 39 year old dad bog it's just that's it man it's just got his electric his pudding stance yeah weird ass golf swing hitting the heaviest mid-iron you've ever seen in

your life it's just killer never said yeah I led the field in putting for for the entire

week with that weird ass pudding stance as well and and sorry I think one of the things I bristled out in the past with like the like we've had some fun back and forth about the the the the low stinger shot he hit it and a gut master he hit mom all that crap it's already literally started was like yeah he hit a really low shot it was six shot into eleven's a really low shot but it went over the grid with sick but these guys freaked out that's see that's a proper player right

there wasn't even a good shot it was like wait a second here guys like that he airmailed the green what are you talking about here so future looking index that is the basis of the proper player

thing but and I think yeah but but I don't know even beyond that like there's stuff that gets lost

in the stats right of like you could look at his stats from various four events and say like oh this guy is just a bombing gouge specialist he's and I think that's where like the quality of his iron plate gets lost a little bit right and knowing how to hit the shots and and having that full arsenal in your back the the counter to that and and this is not me meant becoming the

haters like well he never tops out in the major in his life prior to this right it like he

was the track record is it's interesting it's interesting of course but he's never done it right like that's that wouldn't even let him on the president's cup team which still pisses me off twice he'll be on it this year and he'll be a fantastic fit for Medina that's true that's true so should we talk I mean well I was going to say one more thing on birthday I've said this a couple times but again if you don't listen every show I feel like at least personally I hope a lot of

other people feel this way but I've always had the English venues have always just kind of smushed together as like there's the ones in Scotland there's the ones tiger one at there's the ones and

like then there's the others and I've always had a hard time discerning and I just I hope birthday

rose up in in a lot of people's rankings this week like it did for me I mean I know it's you got to put it you can only go so high right because they're also good I know it's probably we've talked about that before but it's it was just a place that I I just hadn't given full credit to in the past and like you said T.C. the sequencing the visuals with all the dunes it's just like the best of it's it's it's the best of links golf man it's it's got everything that you see

in Scotland it's got pieces of what you see in Ireland it's in such a cool location it's just I

perhaps off too awesome I think it's the best of championship links go yeah it helps to have seen it

in the best possible you know firmness that we could have possibly seen it in just baked out the whole week got no rain this entire week like that was a unicorn kind of situation but brought out a lot of a lot of really fun features and and like it's good to that it fits like the open profile it gets a good business open for the art you know what I mean like some of these some really good golf courses don't fit the economic situation nearly as well I'm like you

kind of see some some like poor rush I like poor rush but like that is proven to be a quite an economic decision for the RNA to go there and I don't know I guess like a and like Lidham is not the most economic but like to have a golf course that easily clears the level of championship play like to elevate this championship and also is really good from the economics standpoint it's like and like straight up like Northwest England just gets better weather than a lot of areas of Scotland

and Northern Ireland and a lot of other places to the point where like we were you know more likely to get those dream conditions like we got this time around and yeah we didn't get the win we wanted but I don't know Burkdale is Burkdale's you know stamped it I guess is a the best venue in the Northwest England I think like I I think it clears Royal Liverpool for me little unfair like because we didn't we got rain at Royal Liverpool and I think it is yeah it is but I still I still think like

This one this one there's more to it there's more like I think I think the I ...

for sure just the dunes with the crowd pops like there was a vibe there like there was an atmosphere

that that came through the television that I think is harder on flatterling golf courses was

my is like it's dependent on which which stream you were watching or to say it was we caught hamster damn for a reason see we're not letting it in fact the rest of the show it was funny I went back and I listened to our pod from I don't know it was it was a few years ago about like like us ranking the open road of venues in our person and then listen a few takes I wish I had back in there but I was also really like I was kind of in my own head to I'm like man I think I'm

just giving birthday away too much credit I think I think I just we just had a great day out there

when we went out there the first time and it was great and and you know I'm kind of transfixed

by the list of winners and I feel like now I feel like all right no that was that wasn't recent see by as that was actual based in fact so yeah no like I said there's no bad venues we talk cam guys that was that was a monumental round of golf that was such an awesome round of golf I was vibing with it from the very beginning I don't know if you guys were up yet and I'm just blowing up this are slack around the whole all the sequence of events of cam I've mess I thought

whoever he was playing with bang one off the stick almost equal to five and I thought it was cam I was really freaking out at that point but just one of the most impressive builds of a golf

round I've seen in terms of hitting incredible shots making cuts we needed to I think only like

that's it on 10 I think he missed a put a relatively short birdy put but all the misses he had

coming in were in the exact right spot getting it up and down got all the way to ten hundred par that was looking like a really really really good number didn't miss by much off the tee on 18 but again the the design feature of that whole got him goes into the bunker tries to pull off the shot went for the shot hits the lip of the bunker ricochets out he ends up in the green side bunker almost holds it to get in the house at minus ten makes the part but it gets in at minus nine

ends up falling one shot short but I am I'm gutted for the dude I mean another another runner up at the open championship and just like the 73 yesterday was was painful and really wear it hurt but it offered in the opportunity to get out in the golf course before the wind picked up a little bit and he took advantage of it when not a lot of other guys were doing it and just just a really really really really solid performance in the guy probably should have been in a playoff to win the

open today and just that put lift in on 18 for Ryan Fox. Yeah I don't know how to feel about it it's on one hand I'm like I know there's more golf this year and it's only July 19th but that was kind of the the last the last big one right and it's it is good to see him end quote unquote the year in the place that he should be right we saw him at the beginning of the year nobody was hotter we're debating like is he the hottest player in the world right now type of stuff is he number two

or number three kind of guy in the world and just weird dip into the wilderness mid year and you just don't want I don't know you don't want that run to be over right like I love seeing him as as one of the three you know I'll say dudes you want to see him as one of the three dudes in golf the prodigal dude perhaps you know he we was wandering but he came back home today so it was good it was good to see that but at the same time solid is a little bit of a like man

how many let me these calls are we gonna have like this is it's got to break through it some point who what Aaron right and Foxy Foxy's a major champion okay it is but that's kind of what

it's it's why I think these uh watching somebody play golf for 10 years is so much more interesting

than watching somebody play golf for a year you know it takes it takes a while for this uh this build up to really hit a fever pitch and I mean I think it just makes it go into the this is ridiculous because the master isn't for eight months or whatever but it's just makes going into the master's all that much better like he he he's starting to become the laser focus of when's it gonna happen for this guy everything says it's supposed to happen and it hasn't yet what is what's going on

I just think that makes it really fun to watch yeah I think he's it's 29th major championship this is it I'm sorry this he's 29 years old this was his 22nd major championship and his fourth top three finish in majors like it's it's impressive man he's done he's he's you know he's finished top 10 and you know 33% of the majors more than that of the majors that he's played five top five finishes like it's uh it's a it's a really impressive record he's he's he's putting

together and I God I thought it was his day I really did the uh he spent a lot of time in

The four or five and I was just really glad to see the putter turnaround toda...

with cam it it's almost like you feel like oh shit we're regressing we're regressing like the bad putters coming back out also guys I'm just I'm just getting across this this is this is per Fraser Wilkins on Twitter or X the everything app he's a golf coach down down in New Zealand he said hate to break the narrative Foxy has not had a beer since he was 18 due to an allergic reaction

so there will be pints of red flying tonight how about that interesting I never mind take back

everything yeah yeah yeah I I think something else like if you win a major especially the open you win the open as an Aussie or a Kiwi or Argentine or whatever I feel like the golf world owes you to like all right you know what we're gonna come a lot of guys are gonna come play your national open uh the you know the next one that there is like I feel like your champion's dinner yeah I like that idea I do like I think when those guys win it does feel even more like the

world's open I feel that same way with cam Smith right and him talking about you know how much this is this you know yeah it's the world's the world's open everybody kind of puts that on the masters I feel like with with all the Norman close calls and everything but I just um I don't know I think that drives drives that home a little bit more when one of these guys win I would see all right

so the the beer thing doesn't work that's fine if you want to pull some pull some pints I would

recommend T.C. You mean for a high noon a vodka seltzer you could grab a vodka iced tea grab a tequila seltzer no matter the occasion high noon has something for you going to hand your

ring tonight I always say this one tastes like gatorade I'll launch gatorade for me this one's this one's

very good this would definitely be a two to drink night I got the cranberry one rating is well if you're looking for your next pack check out the high noon tequila seltzer fiesta pack there's an eight pack or there's a bigger 12 pack if you want Moss fiesta all are made with real tequila real juice perfect for any fiesta no matter where you plan to throw it find the high noon tequila seltzer fiesta pack nearest you at high noon spirits dot com high noon sons up should we bring in some

crew here yeah absolutely I think we've been we've been keeping them in the wings waiting here

I think Scotty Schiffler speaking of bloats speaking of bloats oh well we get I'm glad we made it

it's almost 30 minutes before we get to the Scotty situation from today I believe here but

so let's bring an Icarito Neil he's been waiting in the wing gentlemen God you guys are putting me in the cooler I'm so fired up to toxin g unbelievable bill shankly shit from Foxy today made me feel things gentlemen I use playing with pace and desire and zeal and I just I loved it he was hitting shots with com I did I think you said a complete and utter commitment and like a true vibe of fearlessness and I was trying to think about this like you know because you could

be like oh some you know some mule one some journeymen you know like why why do I feel this way now and I didn't feel this way with Aaron right and no offense to Aaron right but it's not you know made that massive put on what a 17 you know it's like a lot of fireworks there and and I think it's just a lot of it's aesthetic for me you know the swing is unique his age nothing adds up but he's just sending it and a lot of times when a guy like that is in this position it feels like the end of a

soccer game like a one-nothing game and they're just you know distribution like keep playing keep away and this felt like a suburban dad new zeal and guy is doing his best-step current personation of like the gold metal game I mean he's just like shooting bombs from deep these irons are coming down right on the flag he's doing things that nobody else in the final six group is six groups are able to do and he's and he's like doing what he's intending to do he's going to

win the golf tournament and the aesthetic and how he did it is is I think what what matters to

me and I think the other thing is I would not underestimate the pace with which he plays and what a contrast that is to all the mechanical bullshit we see from pros with how they get lined up and the shirt tucking and just all the the 30 things on the pre-flight checklist and this guy's just like no man I'm just gonna step in there and I'm gonna hit this ball and I'm gonna hit it there and then even when he's in that bunker and he's chipping out backwards on 15 he's making that

decision like all right the decisions to play backwards like not even I can do that you know you're you're gonna like go through the five stages of grief like well maybe I could what if I get down on one knee and what if I do this and let me go let me get a rules official and see if I can get some type of free drop and it's like now I'm just gonna hit it backwards and get up and down so anyway I just wanted to get that in because I it was a such a refreshing just a refreshing

Win to see somebody do it like that I was thinking about this new I was tweet...

this too and we were talking about camiong and the shot on 18 and should he have laid up should

he have gone for it was at the right call and it's just a lot of like big strong men saying what a horrible decision yada yada and I was just thinking about it maybe I'm watching too much baseball but I just love seeing golf as a sport and I feel this with Foxy and everything you just said too where it's like you can have all the analytics prep you can have your whole game plan before it starts but once the game starts there's no one standing there with a big laminated sheet

of all the potential outcomes and saying like actually you need to do this based on what's going

on all around you just don't even think here's the play you like you just have to figure it out for yourself and I just I love the contrast of not even the contrast I guess similarities of what cam had to do there where it's like no you know what I think this is a moment where I need to push my chips in and I ran it I think he just hit a bad shot he had a six iron he was trying to open wide wide open to try to get to the front of the green I think he just hit it thin and hit it into

the lip of that bunker and same thing with Foxy right it's not like it's not like anybody's out there being like well because of the back nine scoring average and because of things are manipulating this way this whole is actually either there's a stroke skating advantage here that he just kind of hit the hole and just go for it and that that was a laid bear today I think through through through both of those guys X war you gotta get your stats right TC if you're gonna try to

there's no X war all right I know the thing there's war in there's peace this is a commentary on me

but so I'm watching and his potting stance and the the open feet you know is like I got a buddy Matt who towards ACL like 95 times playing college football and he's the only person that I know that

has a stance like that and he does it because his he's ripped his knee up a million times and he doesn't

hit a very good but to see some of like Foxy do that I don't know if this is true but when I'm watching golf I'm like man what I wonder if he like blew his knee out you know he's 39 like there's a lot of wear and tear on a body like that and it's put the fact that a guy's like now this is just he's figuring out a way a very unique way to hit the ball really fucking good and really far and I just think I missed that in golf as well and I'm I'm kind of saying that his approach the

pace with which he plays and the uniqueness of a swing all factor into that aesthetic that I was talking about and it makes me wonder makes me think it makes me like I wonder if he is that was a rugby player maybe he blew his knee out playing rugby it's like no you know I'm watching so much damn golf and so many commercials it's like that's where my head goes you know what I mean I would exceptions to every rule but like I there's not more Foxy's coming I don't think is is kind of what I was feeling

today and like we need to enjoy this because they're rapidly they're in endangered species and they're just eating even they're not coming back to see yeah and we need to just we need to soak this up protect this guy they're getting prompted for their horns if I can go back to

the cam situation on 18 though Dege here's what I would say from a strategy standpoint I think

there is a calculation that can't did in the moment that said if I pitch outside ways I have got a work for par like my expected score is going to be blah blah blah and if I go for it and hit the lip and it comes out my expected score is probably going to be pretty similar so it is worth the risk of trying to get it up near the green on the green in the bunker to try to make an easy for like that's that I see some criticism of his decision to try to hit it out of there I don't think the

spot he ended up in was that different of a expected score than if he would have pitched out into the fairway left him some 100 so so so yards so sorry sorry so I was talking expected score again here guys we're creeping back away from Foxy's way I totally agree with you saw it my point is like I just love that he has to make that decision on his own for sure you know independent of any other

information he's just got to have the feel for the moment that's that's very cool and you need to go

off and guess and disappearing in other in other sports quickly I guess when he when he hit it because I thought he hit an OB for sure I thought by the fence I was like holy shit oh it's not yeah it's not a if it hits the hill and it's the hill it's like if it hits the sand below the the soft pound and then then rides up the face and goes straight right man that's that's a wild way to that play they did not see that play yeah last one other thing with Foxy he's also given us like multiple b-right

oh b-right I think he was 16 into 18 oh my god b-right I just loved it man he's twirling it I've called his moment in the week could have been squirrels at all I hit a driving iron 327 off a 17 D's twirling it and it goes in the bunker I mean he's just juiced up man nice drive it I think we all though with the coldest of you know but that was all that long call this moment for sure Foxy too he was he was he was John with radar on 13 he was like

I bet the boys up in the booth or are all over me about about that when I hit the right shot there

Off the D in radar like they're just going back and forth with it it was grea...

he was he was not only comfortable in the moment he was embracing the moment yes for somebody like it if are being dead honest right now probably he has only shot at one of these if we're being completely honest of that to play with zero inhibition in a moment like that or it's like a true once at a lifetime moment to shoot 62 68 on the weekend they opened a winner by one birding the 500 yard 80th hole finish to make it happen like godly he played with such a little fear if I

in the final group too yeah I mean just compared to like I mean Sam Burns 12 straight pares after three bogies you know like the kind of the opposite round playing in the same group just couldn't it couldn't muster the the zeal and the fearlessness yeah I like to make an apology on my Sam Burns I call him a dog yesterday I still respect him he's earned my respect

but I think he's he's who we thought he was on the greens to an excited hate that T.C.

because I was I was sent to you of like man he's he's undoing a lot of work that I've done to

to think that he's somebody other than who we might be basically how does as soon as it started

to get a little squirrely a little unsharp with some of those irons he hit I remember he had an iron off the tee and it was just not closed the had another kind of flary one I was like oh man I thought this was going to be the slam the door kind of moment for Sam Burns and it was it could not have been less of that to to the to really really really really costly shots I'm obviously went bogey on on four five and six the pitch over the green on five was you

know he it cost him a full shot and then obviously driving in the burn on the next T shot on six was you know that's two shots over two shots gained lost right there and he finished two shots back like that's that's where it happened he he still put it well today he had a above average putting day overall yeah but like when when he needs it you know what I mean like all right you got to make this one this is and there's just a few too many of the ones like you probably not expected to

make them but all right you got to wiggle one of these in if you want to even have a shot at sniffing

this and they're not going in yeah yeah if you want to win that's definitely the case but it's uh I would I would say it was let down by almost every part of his game today other than putter necessarily I don't think he had the ball well enough to win the open he would you know he would he would tell you that as well unfortunately but I thought he was going to I thought he was going to do it man yeah he said he said he said a really really strong I mean T seven the masters T 26 at the PGA

runner up the U.S. opened third at the open championship he had two career top 10s and majors coming into

this year and had two top three finishes this year alone he's played 26 majors now it's not a small sample of him so just a massive leap he has taken in this past year and he'll be on the president's cup and hopefully he has he needs a good team event

because I I still honestly believe people are doubtful this guy or don't like the guy because he's been

in big spots next to Scottie Sheffler and team events and not played well and then and they have discounted him as a player because of that and T's like I said in the biggest tournament this year he has played his best golf and I salute that it's it's a hard one because it I feel like coming into yesterday it was very you know I mean he's been knocking on the door he's been knocking on the door he hasn't been knocking nearly as hard as came young and it's pretty similar sample size

and you know I feel like you still you watch cam and you're you're much more like how the fuck is this not happened yet whereas San Bern still does feel like a even a step away from that you know so it's there's still still work to do for sure Scottie Sheffler final round 67 I'll probably just zoom past that I don't think there's anything that happened his round today that needs any breaking down he finishes an entire for fourth with Tommy Ladd

yeah nice birdy on 17 good up and down got a very 17 left rough he was way over there on the last just got up and we got we got to bring in the big man is this favorite player we can't talk about him without time out of his favorite player hello big ring oh hi gentlemen how are we doing great how are you nice hat big uh we're good let me just say I know we're moving on from Foxy but uh I found myself my wife is half Kiwi my daughter is a quarter Kiwi I found myself in and among

a lot of newfound Kiwi family and it was a lot of fun to see Ryan Fox win this the family chat

going crazy uh this was this was a fun one my daughter's first open championship and a Kiwi

wins it I mean that's the stuff you dream about right there how about that how about that

On to Scotty 17 what do we think boys you don't like the rule call your sente...

for that ready no you're exactly right I I think I my issue is not with Scotty my I can we can we set it up let's let's go through the the X's and I was here Sally are we setting it up make based on NBC feet or world feet hamster damn T-I'm starting to start with Charlie to get the context you're dumping bodies outside the zone right now T-C alright it's got to stay in the zone drop if you can't find the bodies it's like Sally start on 17 T because that's where the drama really

starts he hits a little peeler always trying to miss that front left bunker it takes a pretty

tough balance and like kind of stops on the upslope which is right up the bunkers and that was like the approval equivalent of what Justin Rose did the other just going to pull it like whoa whoa Jesus dude I mean it was like which is so funny Randy I know this is your guy it's super power it's just that doesn't bother me okay I got for this move it out and it just boiled over it was great he needs to make a move he needs his two shots back of came young who's in the house and

Scott he's at seven under so he goes for it from this upslope it like I think it mix the top of the

hill on the way and it's going way left way left behind Clarets a hospitality area way left

of 17 green I believe it misses left of there in like that gore sea area if you're watching this

on the screen left of of the hospitality area but behind this fence that you see here get the ruling as they get up there to say it is in the whole area even behind Clarets is considered TIO just you can see it from if you have the other angles well Cody that from the sky you can see that there's more fence-off area behind this to all say the entire ruling and it has been this way all week all this is considered temporary a moveable obstruction do they find the ball no

they're on their way up to it one of the official the guys walking with him has said like I've I've watched it on video they show the video replay of it to show that it goes in this general area

Gabby herzing tweeted this earlier and said if the player's ball has not been found but is known

or virtually certain to have come to rest in a TIO the player can take relief blah blah blah well from there there's people up in the hospitality as well the reporting is to where it went long so sure they don't need to find the ball they don't really go looking for the ball

because you can take the line of I don't want to get this wrong the entry point relief I think is kind of

what they ended up doing going backwards and thinking about back to about 100 yards of course they should have just written four down on the card of course gets it up and down for birdie he's a birdie away from birdie 18 to maybe get into a playoff and just maybe you know all the I'm much I'm very happy we're not sitting here tonight discussing that as really affecting the champion golfer of the year but as you might predict a lot of people up in arms about this situation and I love this

a big part of my platform okay keep keep piece of of of everything I stand for I have no issue Scotty didn't do anything wrong let me get that out of the way Randy you nailed it got a call or congressman but we this isn't this is not good like I had a TIO area like I understand if he hit it in and it was underneath the grandstands sure virtually certain it's there but that the blow it like a hundred yards left fifty yards left and then not even have to look for it and

like in the past I think I'm what I'm upset about is the RNA in the past has used drop areas for TIO relief and the fact that they didn't use a drop area here I think is what I'm really upset about penal drop areas too they would not be because then Scotty doesn't interview after the round and his his thoughts were like oh yeah so walk us through what happened there he's like yeah well you know he's press he's trying to make birdie I hit a shot I wouldn't normally hit and

I know I can miss left and so you know I went way left it's just like if like these guys don't know they can blow it in there is like I couldn't tell from that quote if he was saying I wouldn't normally hit that because I know I have safety left or because I need to win the golf turn. I think you're right he needs to win the golf turn but he's also saying I need to keep it up the left and I think that factor's heavily into oh yeah if you miss it like wait like you can go

at this one you cannot just write but left you're fine like that's what he said to he said immediately

to Ted Scott he said oh that's in the hospitality left I think which is like he very very aware that that's over there like the the optics of this are what is bad for like just the you know pro golf in general it's like the course playing easier for these guys than it does for

Everybody you know any other buddies trip that goes there I just think that w...

ti-o thing that I just think there should be a penalty stroke involved or like the drop area is

a good I'll meet you in the middle there like a penal drop like yo yeah I don't see me he can't just drop it where the people have trampled everything down and just get up and down I just it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth not it's not Scott he's fault it's just I hate that that's and it definitely impacts the strategy of how he plays the whole so it's it's you know it's

poorly set up by the RNA that's what I'll say it's against the fear of like what one out of

championship golf at the very end of it I think is the not the enforcement of the rule but like how that was set up I think is very reasonable yes because it felt wrong remember when big shot bob at the Scott has shown him was in the header and steps on the spring he finds out he's had spring

clear and he is able to take a free drop and like hits it on and makes eagle it just felt like

wait I did nothing wrong of course in that situation same exact thing but it's just like that doesn't feel right and he went on win the tournament there's just like that just doesn't it doesn't marry up with like the consequence of the golf shot part of that's a little bit of luck you know there's a lot of luck that is involved in in some of these things as well if if I felt like Scott he was trying to hit it there on purpose and that was a bailout I would feel even worse about it

I mean obviously there's it it's it was not a good feeling when any of this I don't but he said do it on purpose but I think he knows he can if I'm going to miss anywhere I'm going to miss left that's yes that's that's there I mean they got their whole core strategy come on Neil that's where

too he said like this happened to me this happened to me previously and I knew the rule as well

so he's like I'm not proud of the fact that I know the rule but like I knew the rule I I think the most outrageous part is the fact that that entire area was was marked as TIO as well of like you know all the way back to that like almost next T-box and I think that he didn't just hit it in the fucking hospitality guys he hit it over the hospitality like a left of the hospitality it like it's like any so anytime you go over a fence in a pro golf tournament whether it's a you know for

spectator safety or hospitality or whatever I think that should be O-B period point blank like these are the best players in the world we shouldn't make it easier for them to get out of jail free like he hit an awful shot and couldn't find his ball he hit it so bad and he gets off Scott free and again that's that's not a commentary on Scott it's a commentary on the rules I just think the governing bodies need to do a fucking better job of like cleaning some of this stuff up

and the PGA tour as well stinks I I I it how do I say this like he did hit a god-awful shot that he couldn't find the ball but he is opera in that moment he's operating under the with this knowledge that this might happen right if it is O-B you might have hit it over there right

like it is a it's a it's a no that's what I'm saying I know this fault let's put the fear of

God in these guys of like all right if you like let's say you're in Detroit and you're trying to do the 313 challenge I remember Cameron champ did this a few years ago where he hit it like Bryson hit it one time I think I think it was Bryson he hit it into a hazard and Napa left of hospitality and got a free drop from it because it was TIO like that's the kind of shit we're talking about here guys it's depraved and it's not again it's not malicious on these guys intent it's just then

using the rules for their advantage I just think the rules stink just like our guy Hubert's catching all sorts of flack on X the everything app for being for like being a reinstated amateur I don't think Hubert should be a reinstated amateur either but the USGA and R&A says he is so it's like the room change the rules you know the stance of the the people that administer the rules about tournament relief is that this is an unnatural part of the course is not part of the design

of the whole that is not meant to be an obstacle in your way again I'm just presenting I am I've been on the side of you guys that there needs to be a warm on this but again I'm just presenting this case of it is it's not going to be OB like that that's not going to happen like that that's very clear from from from how they what about just from that standpoint DQ's on the table I think just I mean you're patient like they do a career a stroke with some line of sight relief if you

want to take that I know what they don't want to encourage people to hit it over hospitality for safety reasons but the other thing with this one the TiO area was a new one for me the fact

I kind of thought like hey man you should probably have to go look for that ball and if you

don't find it it the lost ball supersedes the TiO stuff you know like if if the the actual clear it area the generator the physical hospitality is TiO but if you hit it in the Heather behind that and you can't find it that's like fucking lost ball if you did find it then get your TiO but then I think yeah then it's like how do you know that it went in the Heather and it

Did go inside the because underneath the truck right then that's what I'm say...

taking apart generators to me like oh it's in so this guy saw it bouncing here like I get why all of these things exist it's a bit like the Bryson rule where it's like somebody thought about this a lot they wrote this in the vet they weren't sitting around like oh shit I didn't think about what how we're gonna rule this this area over here wow just fucking make it up as we go like they clearly thought about this for a very long time and how do we apply the rules so this is

where I always get again this is I'm not where to across on Twitter guy like I kind of take a

back seat on this stuff my gut TC I'm with you this stinks put up some red stakes if you guys don't want to roll the golf ball back then great we're gonna have we're gonna have penalties all over the place I that's kind of where my head is at but I I understand how it got to this point I know that's kind of really a miltoast sort of tape so it doesn't so much bigger too yeah right totally like clearance you know Randy Randy I know you're a big clearance guy what do you

let's say you love the clearance I think we're on the same page TC I've steadfastly been on the

TIO sucks for years now I'm I'm with you guys 100% on that I think it's a heavy move by Scotty if he doesn't know that rule like I if it was him or if it was anybody else it's like you might as well use the rules to your utmost advantage like that's just being a competitor but yeah the TIO stuff sucks in general it it should be you get a line of sight relief like Neil said get a line of sight relief plus a poundy shot or play as a lies like those are your options they didn't just

build that hospitality 10 right before he hit that second shot you know it's there I it seems like

the biggest no-brainer tweak that pro golf can make I don't understand why we're not doing it and it also seems like something that governing bodies could do theoretically again as I understand it seems like something they could do with like this stroke of a pen you don't need the PGA like I I know the PGA tour is different like you would need the pack to probably figure out whether they want to run it that way or model local rules and all that stuff but USGA seemingly

could just be like this area is designated as a hazard this is what like I have it seems like they could change that again the view point there and we've asked rules official specifically about this is like this is not part of the golf hole like this is this is something we have put up for the

entertainment value of this golf tournament this is not meant to be here this is not part of the

design of the hole we are not going to make this a hazard that that for right or for wrong that is the viewpoint that I would be extremely surprised that they're finishing I would urge them to you can better yeah like they're not like putting that thing in there they're they're changing the strategy the whole anyway so like it's yeah by that tokens only like if a ball bounces off one of those and comes onto the green then you shut the replay the shot like if it's power lines

I put this at the feet you can't have it you can't have it both ways right like it can't be there as a bumper to be used but also like oh no no no don't pretend this doesn't exist is bullshit maybe we should

since that bunker on 18 we have to thank the members for that I think this TIO area the members should

have spoken out because you've got to wear this one yeah we want this to be penalized that the members should have stepped in on this and maybe like I don't even know I don't even know how temporary clearance is at this point it takes it takes months to put up you know like if it's big enough it's not temporary I mean Randy you've asked it before like aren't we all temporary isn't aren't all these courses temporary? it's haddy stop now we're asking the right questions T.C

and it's good for the the RDA the set they had to be like fuck we made it 70 holes in this tournament before one of these came about like we all know I didn't know that was TIO back there nobody else that was not a topic of conversation at all all we could sure enough there just has to be one ball that goes there which again like if they would have found the ball which he would have gotten relief anyways one we we kind of gloss past the the point where

Scottie's yelling and I don't know if you guys caught this on that you see but this was on the world feed but where he's waving his hand saying everybody's stop looking for the ball don't want it is where it's like okay well that's not again the right call good strategy but like not good optics that's that's a tough that's a tough one you know we just need we need more OB just generally

in pro golf we need more OB because that's the only thing that scares these guys like you saw it

on one this week one was brilliant with the crosswind Johnny Johnny rombo went out one out of bounds twice on the weekend on one so good and I would just say let me let me if we're discussing spirit of the game I would say let's make it so let's put in bounds OB or what's the term in course yeah in course OB I don't want to see guys ever playing down like the wrong fairways you

Know I want to take that out of it play it if if if we're going spirit of the...

the hole is the architect laid it out you know that I don't think we should be playing shoots and

ladders and going to other fairways I can't promise you more OB Randy I cannot but I can promise you

H&B okay I want to go shout out to our friends at holderness and board that's how we're doing folks

I watched him side by side I watched the world feed and when I watched NBC oh I thought we're gonna answer that oh you think you're avoiding this wow come on yeah no solid he was the only guy to shoot in the 60s all four rounds this week he birdie 18 just like he birdie 17 and 18 just like Foxy did since he's out of it they you know they the people the people made their voices heard okay

and I thought no I think indeed feel free to pop in here at any point you'll further save me

needs to balance your truth no but I think if I had to dial it down to anything when he went long on nine today I was bummed that was you know back back in Neil's territory back there on nine Neil was kind of presaging a lot of you know yeah well little spots on the course between five nine and then you know so he bogeys nine made a good one to make bogey there and then again just really conservative off the tee on ten and eleven and I feel like let left himself really far back

and that's that's just where like you know all the air went out of the blue and three bogeys in a row

there he had the he had the big put on on one it just it felt a little bit like full's gold at first

and he played really well in the front I mean he was 300 through eight um yeah overall man it was like

like that's the most frustrating part about it minus seven three shots I believe played good

good golf good good not great golf all week was solid I think I was glad at how he battled when he didn't have it earlier in the week and you know I think the crowds helped him out all week and great scene coming up 18 you know that that NBC didn't show much of a but the world feed had and then you know nice embrace on 18 green and and after the fact and kids and Hicks talked all over it but yeah it was just it was a I don't know it was a cool special week that could have been

all time I think I'm disappointed I do think that him shooting in the 60s all four rounds and burying last two holes should should net me some sort of reprieve or exemption that I can use into the future uh to pick him once more consider that's mommy especially with Foxy

Money on as well yeah but DJ do you have an announcement you'd like to make u...

questions I want to ask TC because I this was a unique week and I maybe taking this in a

direction that even I didn't expect but what exactly are what exactly do we want TC to

apologize for that's that's the question I want to I want to throw out I don't even know if I know the keeps picking Tommy to win I've heard Tommy is going to win this major for years yeah so let's start there take your time you stick your entire reputation on him winning oh and she Nicole and then you want to dog Sam Burns for not being a dog what I mean I don't think I've ever called say Tommy a dog I'm only I've ever called him clutch

let's not stick to the absolute treasure lawyer TC let's say no I want to take out anybody wants to review listen am I happy he he he he he basically wiped one two 20 off 10 T and left himself with you know 180 yards in and out of the out of the thick stuff we're you know am I happy that he hit one two 75 up the left on on 11 I just it's just not I mean I watched like probably 60 of his holes this week and like I you know I've texted with

DJ I'm like yeah like all right here's what's gonna happen you can see it like you're pre you have

you have previously scheduled stuff where it's like oh yeah like there's a bad bogey coming up here on 11 or 12 and it's just I feel like he makes incremental progress but I also think it's interesting that like you know he shot 63 there at Chinacock Cam Cam Young shouldn't 64 here makes a bogey on on 18 Tommy misses the birdie put on 18 at Chinacock Cam's getting lauded Tommy's Tommy's getting just just shit oh yeah like just 10 years later because like so like said

no I'm still in number in six years I want to have that one yeah no in that moment like in in 2018 you guys were shooting I don't think that's true I teach you here's what I would have you apologize for crying wolf to Randy's point to taking Tommy's name in vain to picking him too often in places where he couldn't win I'm not mad at you this week we were all rooting for him I don't pick him in Augusta I don't pick like I'm not picking him willy nilly it every

single major here I picked him at the two places of the last 10 I thought his game fit really well for after saying you wouldn't if he doesn't have been point rock port rush that's true port rush

to this game well too it's got a good day so serious though here serious I think and I'm not

waiting into DJ like golf strategy territory but there did seem to be a very like Tommy seemed to be playing the course different than everybody else like laying back on the T and that

would be the the one thing that I would second guess especially as the week went on and where

you're at on the leaderboard would love to see him hit driver on on 10 and 11 like those holes were at nine yeah nine it's like man you're just putting yourself in a really tough spot here with a mid to long iron when other guys are just forcing the issue a little bit and and it's paying off so I don't know why he's stuck with that no I agree Neil we we talked about this a lot like Thursday and and last night I mean Sally even said he's he's too accurate so his

misses go into these fairway bunkers they don't go into the bench rough that's the real problem let me let me let me give you a lay up then here TC just a a lab question you asked me to to wait until after after this open to answer this question yes is Tommy a bigger game hunter bigger major championship game hunter than zander softly no the record would say would say no

just thank you I'd throw that on the picker along the bottom thank you I think DC did Joe Biden

win the 2020 election exactly what I was going to say this feels like that's literally what I said on the PGA championship review pot who were the 2020 election when you refused answer that question just a few months ago but I am now happy satisfied that we can move on and start healing as a country honestly it's forward looking well but all wasn't a major and it wasn't true was though zander was wildly impressive at true and yeah I don't know I'll take I think Tommy

Tommy Nabs one of these man I think he does TC I where I walk away from this week is maybe he doesn't maybe it doesn't we have to believe that he's going to is is how I do it I'm just I'm not I'm not I'm not long said I think he's going to win a major I I am less confident

I'll put my hands up I've always been on the other side of this yeah there's not much big game

There that I I mean just calling balls and strikes there's not a we're not re...

no like I don't always there and he's not but it's not like a shot or it's always in this awkward

way where it's like a back door at Shinaka where it's it's never in the final group it's not a Sam Burns where it's like man it's is this one's yours to lose and that's tough to what DJ's asking for like what wanting can happen yeah I think wanting him to win one he does it in this back footed awkward sort of way like even when he's in contention or like it's it's it's

pretty suited your pants stuff but that's what makes it even more invigorating like it's you just

feel like the universe is conspiring against you and Thomas conspiring against himself yeah that's that's where I'm at I I joined UTC pick him to win this week romanticism I thought oh my gosh

maybe the lads can can just carry this kind of victory what a day it would be and so I watched

way more of him than I even usually watch because I feel like usually what I see is the tap in on 18 for you know oh man he didn't quite have his time it's going to be back what a crowd favorite I watched a ton of his like how he actually plays golf and I walked away a bigger fan than I ever missed he is the the best and so do I think he's straight up choked a lot of his way yes for sure is he also maybe the only player you know Randy if you're gonna utilize speed on me and say that

he doesn't have a brain activity anymore then I just don't know who else I'm really riding for on a week to week basis other than than Tommy and Foxy but I I don't know if this is the flood yet to get open for Foxy that's certainly yeah and so I'm with UTC that like I will call a speed of speed here but also if I got to be full throated like I need to believe that he's gonna win one of these at one point because otherwise just don't have a lot of reason to watch

on Sundays I felt so much watching this week almost teared up as he's tearing up on 18 he's he walks off he sees Frankie ask about you out you're okay you're doing all right I mean it's just okay it's awesome it's awesome I feel like that's a bit hyperbolic there DJ you're struggling for a reason to watch on Sunday we I mean we just had a great championship today and for sure it wasn't he's saying week to week week to week yeah yeah I need I need to have a center of gravity in my like

who am I rooting for what am I rooting for I think has been that and he no longer has that he's in

mourning right now exactly maybe I shouldn't be making any big life decisions right now you know maybe I should let this this beef news kind of just center for a while but DJ I just know that

nice guys don't always finish last for sure it's like it's a big bad world out there son

I'm just gonna plant my flag here's what I would say I would be willing to look like a clown for the next however many majors in the squad in the interest that like maybe one day it happens and TC I'll be with you when if and when it happens right meanwhile soil you'll be you know merely mouth I believe them the whole part of this yeah I picked him you talked me into picking him was a poor rush last year I picked him and he like shot the bed on that I did shit the bed there

I think it I think it is he he gets a lot of benefit of the doubt because he's so likeable

because we all root for him because we all wanted to happen but to Randy's big macro thing

big macro take big long running bit on a particular guy that he's had in Ricky Fowler the head to head and the Tommy's resume doesn't sniff Ricky's at this point like we have to call we have to call that at this point we have to say but Ricky didn't make anybody feel anything that's part of it no no Ricky was making a lot of people feel a lot of things I want to I'm not a lot of people what I'm money a lot of marketing people I don't know there are a lot

of guys where a lot of Ricky's yeah that's disingenuous to say that Ricky's not making people feel stuff he's not making people feel the way that Tommy makes walk through this I'm saying I'm saying we do Rick we say Ricky pejoratively and and we don't about Tommy and I'm one of these has to level up one of these has to level up there's no expected wins in any of this Ricky has what six PGA tour wins including the players Tommy's got one Tommy's got Ricky's even got

two DP World Tour wins Tommy has eight eight of those PD's those fields are not very strong as you can see his weighted total wins comes down to 6.3 versus 12.4 for Ricky data golf points 557 for Ricky 454 for Tommy Ricky is two years older it's remarkably similar PGA tour starts for Tommy flea with 179 PGA tour starts for Ricky Fowler 383

I'll get the fuck out of here with this take this is ridiculous this is ridic...

Tommy's going to win a bunch more on the PGA tour in the next 80 starts

I think he can put together and at least his good of a campaign is Ricky has here I think this is

this he's got a lot of PGA tour wins we got a pick up all right solid put it on your calendar for two years from now when he's the same age as Ricky and I don't want the weighted bullshit in there like the I mean Tommy can only win against who he's teeing it up against like the

Dr. Moon Jaws hero cup or whatever the second of who Dobby or Dubai event and you know the

Kazakhstan opens in there and he won that part three natural open and in England I don't think that's the way to golf sixes or something to do you see I don't know the national open to be weighted properly that carries a lot of a lot of juice I mean national opens are hot in the streets right now the Kazakhstan Ricky's got an Asian tour win the Korea open 2011 national open as well that's tough what do you want me to check on in two years I think some of this is Tommy is English

and until he gets this like goose because the English or passionate golf fans if Tommy was American he would not be near as big a deal as he is in my opinion but check it out he's not American

and he's like right one of the most fun iron players in the world to watch you know

I'm sure I'm curious with this blackstone thing if he's going to start going up in these Danny DeVito jersey mics commercials that this IPO they're doing I could change things if they know I'm wondering if they're going to put in the work to make sure that they you know he keeps kind of towing about with the Sunday red and I don't know tigers tweeting about it that feels like riding on the wall there yeah and I thought it was going to commit once ago to that

and he just hasn't so maybe he's just maybe the the dollars are going up you know and he's betting on himself here but other way I want to be clear that the Ricky comp is a good comp it's just

I'm saying I don't think Ricky's like far and away past Tommy that's my stance it I think

Tommy's got to is not to Ricky's career achievement level one and just making the point that

we kind of you got to play like the biggest tournament one of any of these guys I'm not wrong Ricky's had a better career than John better yeah what's later you got to give us the case here dude yeah yeah I mean I'd Ricky's one what he he won the players of course BDE awesome win peak of his career and then it's like I'm trying to rival him off rocket mortgage he won a four go players Deutsch bank Honda Phoenix in the rocket I mean Phoenix Honda

and Wells Fargo are good wins those are good quality PGA Tor wins like they would call those signature wins at this point not when he was playing but those are signature events and I'm not saying that I'm like I'm riding for Ricky but like if I'm just like Randy said calm balls and strikes like Tommy's got a lot of fucking work to do if you want me to keep going more top 5s and majors than Tommy more runner up finishes than major than Tommy more top 10s and major championships

than Tommy more his also a leader too so Tommy didn't get on the scene you know he was playing almost exclusively D.P. World War. That doesn't get you. That doesn't get you in major that doesn't get you a pass like no I know but I'm just saying like point there's 200 more starts or whatever

we're talking about with Ricky here like let's look like I think Tommy's I think Tommy's got a lot

of really good golf ahead of them I don't know that anybody's like doubling down on the next five years for Ricky that's I agree that I want to get high on the Hobium as well like I'm hoping Tommy does have a better career than than Ricky but right now I would say that it's like yeah Ricky historically is a better golfer more starts obviously but I would say like better to this point in his career as well just to your point D.G. He's got 304 D.P. World Tour starts

at that with his PGA tour starts and like the D.P. World Tour quite clearly not nearly as strong of a tour of the PGA tour and their win totals are like the same here right it's not like Ricky's got 200 more career starts than Tommy Fleetwood does just he does on the more competitive tour yes yes yes some of these I feel like you guys are saying there were a lot of the top 10 guys in the world in Abu Dhabi when he won there whatever and like I think the other thing too

is like I would put his Ryder Cup record up in there to work I think that's sort of the Ricky totally picked the ball up dude which is like come on and Randy that's where I struggle a little bit with like the there's there's something going on with stroke play individual championship events he's been a fucking hunter in the Ryder Cup for what three or four of them well so it's like you know granted

That that's not going on his Dacia but you want to play team goal he didn't h...

like team rose he stuck around come on the career decision Tommy has feasted in team matches in

the Ryder Cup he is an excellent excellent record in team matches in the Ryder Cup that is undeniable

so it's true right now that he accidentally just counted the Ryder Cup in this conversation oh no fuck they got me there I should have thought of that next time I just to put a bow on it A DJ welcome to the squad thanks god to have you I may be having you make picks for me that's because I'm not really allowed to it's going on your picks you don't do this don't fall in with this it's proud will you actually adhere to it now that you know we'll see okay I won't think

of the masters yeah no apology anywhere in here sorry no there wasn't going to be one there was

and you know what Tommy finished T4 he shot four rounds in the 60s he didn't get it across the line I don't I also don't think he debased himself this week like he that was not the baseline you your prediction was not he's not gonna debase himself this week that's a win it's a win would you say debased them that's a good question who debased those those this week

well yeah I think we did it wrong was I've seen it for wrong we called any beginning in your

deesh big you're spot in your own players and to give that riverboat rummy didn't come up come up with the royal flash no he did not he did not he did not yeah man another another long winter for the spaniard all December come on yeah recently would it be this year's gonna be better than the last deal I don't know it's up here for um I I will say rum didn't debase himself like I thought for sure we were tracking towards a uh code of conduct like two stroke penalty or just

removing him from the grounds it was really funny watching feature groups either day where it was like every time that he was gonna get really mad or do something they're like no code of conduct it's working so you're coming to part of the roof it's a new genre I mean why you got Bob just slamming his pillow you might have debased himself a little bit this week he's love sucks after words was like yeah I'm gonna keep doing it just and he had some things to take

on the course like mixed in there he was like you know it's just really frustrating when you you can miss by a mile out here and not get punished and then if you're slightly offline you get

screwed like you know just basically like I don't think this is a good golf course was his overall

message there on back on the rom thing I mean it's it's been three years now since he left for live he's played 11 11 major championships only one top five finish in major championships in the three years since he's left for live he's got a 270 to 78 and there's a four top 10s and in the last 11 oh he's still dude he's still like well the best golfers in the world like I'm sorry he is I want to measure though I just this is this is so stupid man what are we talking about you're you're

sitting all over Tommy for getting like this is crazy rom is just not showed up in the in the big he has of course he's not he's still one of the best golfers in the world like hop on your

every week and it's like the only thing that matters is majors can you step up in the biggest moment

boom boom and he just hasn't he's like he has not turned on I three completely and totally disagree of course with his strategy of I'm going to go play on this this other tour the other other tour a very not competitive tour beat these beat these fuckers up and then put in massive amounts of pressure on myself and the biggest events and fuck them up like yeah like he obviously deserves dinged for all of that like he deserves all the scrutiny he's getting all the criticism and like

it is a really shitty like a really heartbreaking is not the word it's like a frustrating thing as a golf fan to have watched one of the top talents in the game like squander and opportunity and the most competitive window he should have to be a very serious player on the world stage like so what it's like in theory no he's like he's like I don't know what to tell you it's still like measures really well he's still good my question to that solace you because I see the strokes

gain chart of like okay over you know two and a half like look at raw over the last two years like he's he's up there in that top ten years like okay but I'm talking about last three years

I would love to get rid of the live strokes gain data and just give me the hi...

in majors over the last three years I don't have time to like do that right now but that's the

chart I want to see and that's where I would revoked dude status because it's like he's not been a dude in the majors and like I I totally get what you're saying these like I do like does the live golf count or does it not and I'm usually like no it doesn't but like and this is the imager part that I would get shit for and I don't care it's like again if they teed it up like

again tomorrow they started this tournament again like do I think he's one of the five most

likely players to win the tournament for most like I do like I do I think he's I think he is approached these all wrong that he's not preparing properly for them I do not think I think there's absolutely a factor in live not preparing him as best as you're saying that doesn't matter like

like all right let's roll the balls back out this coming Thursday and you're just kind of wipe

all that away and say that yeah is he one of the top five most likely guys to win yeah even though he hasn't done dick for the last three years sure yeah I have I've I'm a recovering I was on this block for a long time sorry and maybe I'll look very foolish if he goes and wins if there's runner up in a major three majors ago like two months ago like he was an Aaron Rye freakish runaway from not winning the PGA championship like again you're right that's fair you are you are right

about that it just is I don't know it's you are kind of I'm waiting for that guy to show up like very very very very curious that he has been in the past and it just seems like such a market change that the the patients or the benefit of the doubt is kind of running early very as a completely

fair completely fair I would say do I think like the next three if live continues I would I would still

venture his next three years of major championships would be much stronger than the last three years have been I would I would expect that and if not and at you want me to set a reminder for three years from out to revisit that one I'm happy to fall calendar and declare declare I don't know if you're

doing that one basically calendar he's he's too big of a tent like they're just a he's a fucking

nut job though he is a complete nut job but like they're I I too much respect for like his actual like floor as a talent level and the end of the sustained success that he's had since like 2017 that almost no one else in the game is that like Zander has not been able to maintain it the same way John wrong has Patrick can't lay most certainly not Justin Thomas reached that level for a little bit he was unable to go on to revisit the Jordan speed thing of course like none of those

guys have been able to to consistently beat people in the golf course the way that he has in the last eight years and I do not think this is like a permanent decline in his decay in his game would be my take on the matter kind of ready where you at on this it's an interesting conversation coming off the Tommy I mean it's all based on past performance in our expectations about the players because I'm just looking at Ram he's got less miss cuts and majors over the last three

years he's got a better higher finish the the T2 this year he's got more top 10s and Tommy and it's like why are we talking about Tommy being this like oh my god he's gonna do it he's so good and then Ram it's like we're shitting on him it's just our starting points right with each guy I think my cup of tea but I would bet on him I would bet on him there's room to go that's a distressed asset I would buy low on john rom I don't see fleet would go in to some other level

then question yeah I don't think we're talking about like john rom's like supposed to

generational like a borderline generational talent correct and that that's what I'm saying like

we're not Tommy's ahead of him and your data golf rankings right now like it's john rom's just not like he's just not putting it on paper he's just not doing it he's he's making bad decisions then he's compounding those decisions I think it's it's more not really comparing rom to fleet what as it is like rom to Scotty and rom to Rory and it's like who rom should be yeah yeah interesting combo do you guys think rom wins another major yes probably yes yeah yeah I think he

wins multiple more majors yeah I think he wins at least two more majors I just that's the frustrating part is like I see everything that you're saying I just I think there's also something there we're like he's definitely psyching himself out in these things that's it that's that's it to me is like definitive I think he's gonna win multiple majors that that's a dude I see that about a lot of dudes I know you do I know but like did I agree like I feel that way like a do I think can young

it's going multiple majors I have to say that with less confidence and I think cams a dude as well like do I think also easier to say about a guy that's already one correct a couple majors too yeah but no it it's still a it's a confounding thing man and it is very much a you go back to those combos

We're having in December of 2023 like what's this gonna do for your major rec...

every second of scrutiny anybody gives him I deserve shit for I can keep bringing it that's fine

I'm still just I'm still believer in the talent even if the results are not matching it like I think the

talent like where I went through a period like this in his major championship career where he was just shooting the bed when the expectations were bigger on him he came out the other side and won two green jackets of it and after it so it's a very good call actually and it's similar period in his career as well right I mean that that kind of turned in 30 like that was right before he switched gears and seemingly changes approach at the majors too so that's a good point anything we need to

revisit on the price in front after all that has happened this past week he kind of exit the premises

shot to over finished it four under par finished tied for 14th wasn't really involved in the

proceedings I mean a lot of not great the matinee I don't have a lot kind of left in the notebook here I feel like we've covered a lot of this over the last couple of days certainly in a very fun live show on on Friday night good to see him avoid the slam you know is good to see him involved he played really good golfer a long time this week and hard to know what the the weirdest of Friday did for his his prospects for the tournament but yeah I don't know I don't know what to

take away from his his year to talk about another person that just was had massive potential for the majors this year with so many questions marks about what what his literal career looks like going forward

you know I think this was a massive a contract a year of sorts and just pretty much spit the

bit in a lot of different ways so I don't I don't know that just a confusing confounding

sort of six months eight months for the big golfer I'll say this I would give Bryson a ton of credit feel like every time they cut to him today and all week really gritty stuff making a ton of I don't know like it's showing some strategy like playing you know playing good good golf overall for the week and it is it is more fun he's not for me but it's more fun when he's involved for sure you know it's like he's yeah man he's a content factory so he's frustrating I

don't know he's frustrating he's annoying he's performative we've talked about all that stuff but at the end of the day like when I see him make those 12 foot par puts over and over he's also gritty and I think he deserves credit for that and and I think that shows with two US open wins as well it's it's still it's wild to me like I would say the general reception even after what happened Friday was mostly positive for for Bryson I I know there were there were some jeers out there but

it is well especially come off the backs of watching what happened with Windham at the US Open of like Bryson's already committed some pretty strong sins in golf in the past several years and then over the course of his career and and done plenty of things that make you not like him then he at best inadvertently stomps behind his ball as Randy said like an elephant on Friday and then when the rules officials know a system of penalty went out there made a massive

performative scene you know threatened not to play spent an hour at the course to laid tea times kind of really comment on this yesterday of frustrating the whole field feeling very performative and people go out and cheer for him it's just like nothing fucking matters anymore man I don't I don't get it I don't I mean Bryson is who we thought he was for a long long long time and I get that he's got an entertaining YouTube channel and you know he's smiles at the fans now

and like Shane Ryan had a great piece of just like talking about how he like literally truly believes Bryson practices his stuff in a mirror and I completely completely agree with that and it that that's the performative stuff for me that I'm just like I don't know how people do get to the conclusion that they're a fan of this guy just on the surface it is electric like I'm on the same way I want to involve in things because I want to see what's going to happen

but I guess I'm just very still surprised at the public treatment he gets at that's even amongst the best fans in golf of like being saluted almost like cheered for what happened on Friday was just like why don't we I don't even really know if he was getting cheered or not or jeered or whatever because we didn't really get a sense of of the moment either or of the

the scenes right I think the I think next year's gonna be fascinating for Bryson you got obviously

it gusts the he's kind of struggled there but you've got um you have Frisco right in his backyard

The home game forum should actually suit him relatively well I'll be curious ...

rough there then you've got pebble beach which I've no idea how he attacks pebble beach and then

he got the old course which would seem like or six weeks yeah and you know and then possibly live going away and I mean it sounds like they're they're in doubt for their teen championship in August next month even so uh who knows I mean we could be seeing him play in D.P. World Tour events we could be seeing him play the the your golf tour you know yeah you're a big big YGT guy Mike make some appearances at at all kinds of invitational solid I have a to to your point

about the fans cheering him when I've at past events this year uh majors this year when Bryson

has come by I think some of it is the fact that Bryson interacts with the crowd engages people

well they're not even wins them over they just want they love the response so there is like a it's like the circus coming to town it's like a little bit of like oh let's cheer at at the like the performer out there you know because he's going to like there's a cause and effect to that so I don't know if it's like the you know people are really rooting for him or if they're just like looking for the entertainment of it of the response of it is a little bit of uh I don't know that

but I I think there's something with something there with that um so the big golfer I would I would tend to agree with that uh a couple things he's going to absolutely destroy Frisco he's going to have

so many videos prepping out there it's going to be sick uh one thing about Bryson that I think always

resonates with me is that you know I think nature of this job we spent a lot of time online that's just not the reflection of like the real world that's out there and he is absolutely

loved and I think because of what Neil said he's he's the showman and we have a case because we

work golf and we spend so much time in live shows for majors and everything and we stack all these things against him and kind of create this rap sheet where normal people who enjoy golf don't give a fuck like truly honestly they just see him out there as the person who's showing up who's laughing smile and giving thumbs up waving and that's who they they think and truly believe Bryson is right it circus is baby yeah I think that yeah I guess well said Cody I mean I think that the

circus analogy Neil it's like I'm not really looking at the guys in the circus and then looking at what podcast they're going on and what they said on this Instagram post and what they whereas I feel like we are doing a lot of that stuff and maybe that might create a clearer picture of what's going on but it's it's definitely a more complicated relationship and then I think you just have you just have a lot of different people with a lot of different context all kind

of talking about the same thing and it tends to be quite a quite a stew that's it gets created yeah that just you know the rule the rules violation is what we'll call it that happening and that that to me was just like again with the British crowd I'm like all right well that's going to be a

thing that flips things right and sure enough it just doesn't it doesn't never seem to it doesn't

ever see even I mean the open is you know yet what 75,000 people there each day on it like it's not like we're talking to about like the core of core golf fans this isn't the master so this isn't

you know the years open this is this is it's bigger too so I think there's probably more

core golf fans there but but they're in the midst of a bunch of other people as well which I think creates like again a weird cocktail of when something like what happens on number five on Friday happens when just by definition your your fan base are people who are probably more passive about this or or aren't following it as closely or more I check in and then I check out or I watch on YouTube and then I check out when you have something like a really nuanced

ruling happen like it's just of course it's going to be like oh they're trying to fuck us man it's also against them they don't like what we're about and they're trying to get this guy out of here look at the break that Scotty got they probably were all it's just everything's a fucking conspiracy you know and it's like he's he's just a good canvas for that and I does he plan to it for sure right I mean I think of course he plays into it but it's the ball on that front just seems to

find him like we said on Friday and he just seems to keep finding himself in those situations and it just kind of keeps upwardly spiraling you know and I don't think it's going to end anytime soon you know especially if if Liv goes away or if it doesn't or if he comes back to the tour or if

Doesn't it's just going to be picked up to a million here the next several mo...

were doing it I don't care for you know yeah it's nice to have a little true rivalry and golf

heading in the next one action in here and it's come on pop Roddy I hear it play it in the background turn it up PC let's just actually use we use the word Bryson as performative Roy also is performative sure no it's it's up to you on whether you view it as a pro or a con whether it's you know your guy or a negative thing Roy is doing the exact same thing it's also whether you view it as authentic or not like you can be performative but be authentic with like all right this is what I truly

believe and and versus performing and putting on errors you know Bryson at Pebble to close this out T 35 at the 19 US opening played in six AT&T Pebble Beach Bruins don't really matter but

only one miss cut there he has a T 2 and a T 3 so I think which one last time you played there

2021 T 3 it's also a notable that yeah during COVID basically just freakishly turn into a different

person like golf what you know I mean like he completely transformed his golf game which is always

just funny when you look at his career results it's like that guy in 2017 or whatever it's like how that was a different different totally yeah I would I don't know I would have expected a colder response but you know I think if I'm if I may I do believe that brings us to our shout to our friends at Yeti for presenting this week's coldest moment this was an easy decision for us from this last night's live show we're bringing it back here's the clip of what

have we were tried to give away last night on the live show you to the no-laying a pro shop here I'm going to give away $100 in pro shop credit to I hope this is like your parent's own

and we're going to have to do it. I think it's going to be a good one. We're going to be a good one.

I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one, I think it's going to be a good one. It's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. It's going to be a good one. It's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one.

I think it's going to be a good one. I think it's going to be a good one. Shout out to Josiel out there. I don't know if he's watching the night. Josiel Berto, full name, please. I hope he's in the comments. He deserves another gift. I mean, that was a long, long-ass YouTube handle. Josiel Berto Flores.

Well, a lot of letters. I think Berto Flores. When we cut though, the best thing about it was like,

it's always like, yeah, and you don't even really read the names.

It's just so weird. Now, Lee runs shankings. Because you brought up NLU Pro Shop, $100. I felt like, you know, the Zarr, like, okay, you know, let's just... Let me take this, guys. People, you know, they're going to be... Yeah, come on. They want to hear from the Zarr himself. Like, I felt like I owed Josiel that honor. Well, it's honor of Josiel. Of course, and thank you to Yeti.

You can shop their complete product line at Yeti.com. I appreciate everything they do to support us and their content. Uh, I wonder if we're going to have a Josiel moment today. Well, Cody, our guy yesterday that was, it was like, he was calling us pussy's or something like that. He's a gladiator. He wanted it on the record that he was not calling us, uh, that word for, per se. Uh, don't want to get the explicit rating on this podcast.

Mr. Jim, Jim, Jim Coverver, 4440. G, Carver. Jim, Carver. Jay, him, Carver. Jay, him, Carver. What are they one more? Anyway, yes, TC, he did reply back, say he was not calling us that. He was talking to somebody else in the show. Okay. Did Josiel reach out? Of course. Yeah. All right. Good. Dusty, Pasca, 7974, email, Cody at no-lingup.com. Dusty, some good. Pasca. Dusty, you thrush it. Dusty, Pasca. It smells, you need Pasca.

Liberian. Oh, Randy. You got to tease and tease. You got some thrills into the lights for us, my guy. Yeah, I just got a couple of them. Oh, the shams. Randy, come on. Yeah. Why don't we start here?

Guys, there was no bigger fist pump in this championship until Ryan Foxx on 1...

fist bumping his birdie on 18. What a thrill and delight that was. Finishes at six under for the championship, tied for six. He'll be back next year. Just love a good fist pump and excitement from somebody that is, it's not going to win it, you know. And I said that Randy shut him. He had an awesome winter. I watched a lot of him winning on the DP World Tour earlier this year and like lattering up to success in the top 10 of the major and pathways are open, man. You play good golf,

you're going to have opportunities to get advantage of a great opportunity this week, salute to Casey Jarvis. For the four, four, four looking index, man. It is a four looking

index, guys. Now, so I believe you called him one of those guys that's just on a leader board

every week. He said like it's derogatory. Well, he's one of those guys. Yeah, one of the guys that's

always up on the leader board. That's one of the nicest things I could say about you. The same guys

every week. Casey Jarvis was in the fedora five, the week of March 8th. So congrats to him. There you go. Where should we go next? I got a kit. Here's one. Just thrown delight. Homemade golf swings. Of course, Ryan Fox, you guys touched on it. I had that on my list. The only thing I was going to say is of course, I, I, not sure, space golf game has any brain activity left. But if I were to give him some advice, just do your own thing, man. Quit trying to optimize, quit trying to build your swing

to be something that it's not. I would tell him to lean the other way. Just go home, may go it feels good. You know, it feels natural. The, the three putt big was the three putt from like four feet or whatever that was was so uncomfortable to watch with all of these just thoughts that seem to be going on. How do I pull the trigger is my elbow in the right place? It was a lot of projection for me, but it looked wildly uncomfortable. The exact opposite of Foxy, the guy that just

was right, right couldn't be, yes, exactly. Just see ball hit ball. I think that's what I think that's what

Jordan needs to do. Not covering new ground here, but I was not on last night's show. I couldn't love Rory's comments. Give me more of that. Give me guys speaking their mind. That's the beauty

of one guy's talk to the media. I just, you know, good, good on him. First, first saying it how it was.

I mean, that's a big from you, Mr. Big. You know, I know. I'm all the time. I'm a hater. It's probably the most, the most fired up. I've been for Rory in some time. Question also on my list. What did Scotty say about the race and stuff? It was not today. Very, very succinct. It wasn't very pointed. It wasn't on the way. I want to say a lot of stuff, but I won't. He's like, I played a lot of golf with Bryce and from junior golf on and he's not a cheater. He said he thought he was

careless with how he stepped around his golf ball. Understand how that can be a penalty. But feels like the, that penalty is not enforced enough. What I interpreted is like, he'd like to see them tighten up on enforcement on a week to week basis, but also it's tough when certain guys have more cameras on on than others. You know, just kind of like ping-ponging back and forth between man, like this should probably be called more. It happens more often. So I see how it's

penalty, and also it's unfair because like not everybody has camera on them and Bryce is not a cheater. Yeah, it was a of things are complicated. Sort of sort of take, which I understand. You know,

not really expecting him to have a well thought out dissertation about it afterwards. I think it

is a complicated situation. Well, I was really stoked to hear what he had to say, and then it kind of like, and I feel like he bought himself more time after deferring on it on Saturday night. I was like, all right, cool. Let's see what Scotty has to say. I wouldn't be surprised if he does get a follow up to him, him having a, he's usually very, very good in Wednesday, Tuesday, press conferences when it's like, man, I'm not, I didn't just walk off the golf course where I'm

clearly trying to not lose it's fair. You know, I think he's really good in the interview room, and if he gets asked about it, I bet he'll have a good answer. Well said, I, maybe this is a good segue. I just get tickled that Comcast gives the American audience the sky feed through peacock, like a markedly better broadcast than the one that they are putting up on their national

United States feed. It's, it's incredible to me. So I, I used that if, if, if we made to bridge

into Amsterdam, but that was on my thrill and delight list as well. Can I, before we get to Amsterdam,

One positive, I do want to shout out Foxy's Caddy.

of course, version, but when they show the replays, he, like, goes to his knees and just like the

jaw, I like, it's like, I, I, I read that as just like a man, it just watched like that was like, the, one of the best rounds of golf I've ever seen. I like to be a part, I, I don't know. I just, in the background, you see, it's Caddy, like, I can't believe he just did that. You know, it's like pure joy and energy and emotion from, you know, watching his guy get it done. That was awesome. I was just, I was delighted to see the Caddy's reaction. Absolutely. Just a couple of quick golf

shots with the rest of the leaderboard kind of a little bit on the other side. Yeah, let's go down a little bit and why, I, I, it's, it's you. I'm holding back from Hampshire. And anyways, so yeah,

you can go down a little bit. I'm trying to be calm with hamster down, but I think Lucas Herbert

shout out to him. He was in the mix all week and handled himself well and was, you know, T6, like, really successful week. He felt like a, I didn't watch like every single shot of his, but I mean, it felt pretty patient for a player that hasn't been on a ton of those spots. You know, he seemed like he, he didn't let it get off the rails, you know, and he kept battling when he clearly didn't have his best stuff. He was clearly nervous. It was, yeah, that was,

it was commendable, commendable finish. See who came, got a taste of the, of the, of the cauldron today and went the other way. He looked like he didn't want to be there last, last three, four holes. He started to suck. I got it gone for the team though. We're thrilled with, with, with the results, but yeah, do we have results? We get to get that. I don't think, I don't think we need to

go through what happened in the, in the easy office pools. It's, it is good, the only thing I'll say

to see what came is like, it's good when the, the eye matches the, or the brain matches the

brain, maybe I would say where it's like, alright, man, like this guy's never done, which, again,

is what makes Foxy so fucking awesome today. But it's like, see what came is just been a completely different player when he shows up at the majors. Like, he's really going to hold it together for 72 holes and he get to, like, 63 holes. It's like, no, he's, he's not. It's, moment got straight up too big. And he, and, uh, but I hope he comes back and doesn't much more because he's very fun to watch. Adam Scott T9, a kind of, ah, he was playing this week, a little bit of his songs coming across

my job. He, uh, Russell Henley, good day kind of, he gave a couple of back coming in, but was really glad to have him on my squad this week. And, and he, he was, uh, you know, horse for

course. I think Rasmus, near guard Peterson, first career appearance at the open championship, T9,

Ludwig, I don't really, I mean, I feel like we, we've, we've unplugged him, we've plugged him back in, he's booting back up. Uh, we'll see what he does. He'll probably win the FedEx cover something. Like, it's just, it seems like he's getting over the mental block with the putter, um, but yeah, just, it feels like we're going to get too far down the line and he's, and he hasn't won one of these,

and we're going to look back and be like, holy shit, like, this guy wasted the first six

years of his career kind of thing. So, uh, Ludwig, we got to get it in gear, big guy next year. Just, just like a mega high floor somewhat low ceiling. Like, I think when he came out, we, like, thought he was a massive high ceiling guy. Are we limiting this ceiling at this point with Ludwig? I don't think so. I just don't think he's put it all together yet. I think he's like, just like, raw and weird ways. Like, he, I think he was so good as a ball striker that he didn't even

have to really be a great potter or be a great chip. I think his chipping's gotten better. I think he's just, like, he's just got a mature and evolve as a golfer. I think he, I felt like he was, and then he's kind of backslip this year. So, I could, you could see him going the cami on route though, you know, pottings, you know, it's like, it could click with the potter and just, you know, that could be it. The more we talk about these guys to, the more sad I get that

wheels out of torus is, just constantly on the shelf. I feel like he should be right in the mix with these guys. Um, Brian Gerard, kind of a, you know, birdie list, birdie free, 16 cars, two bogies, just didn't really get it in gear. Corey Conner's T14, uh, just the most uncompetitive 14 I think I've ever seen. Um, some Jay kind of slunked away from it after being in the hunt early tournament. Hadaki, Bryson, Ricky, Gaudera, Bud Colley, Marco Penge. Good to see him playing

well. He was staying at home this week. He was pretty unhappy about the Bryson stuff. He took

The social media to, uh, hit out at Bryson.

I'm trying to do the math of it. If he's got enough points to go to Visby in August and have his

kid ruin that green all over again with the tonka. Last, he wide-boyed mobbed up. T-C. I don't know if there's a big payoff for this next one, but again, I famously put a calendar invite five years ago on the Sunday recap of. He'll be see, right? To, uh, this is, quote, uh, this was set for Sunday, July 19, 2026 back in July of 2021 to revisit T.C. predicting more of Calo wins eight majors after he won at Real St. George's 2022. He's this is tough. Uh, how old is he's 29? In terms

of 30 before the next major. Um, he is a baby. He's a little baby column though for, for a reason.

I think he's, he's been hurt. It sounds like it seems like his golf's gotten better this year

once he got injured, which is kind of crazy. Um, yeah, I don't know what to do. I don't think he's

going to win eight. So I think he's probably got one or two more in him though. I could still think we see what's going to, I couldn't tell if T.C. was going to try to really hit the shot there. If he sauce, if he saw the trees that I was, I was not seeing it, but I think he's got it. Yeah, just take it off playable there, T.C. Yeah, I know I've been, she got T.I. over this. Yeah, I would, I would like to distance myself from this one, just that there we've been. We've been

locked up for a lot of this pod, but I just, I'm not here with you. Yeah, uh, right hand, Dan Brown, Zander, all T 18. Uh, Victor Perez was the low click. He was T 28. We can't lay

Kepka. Uh, that's it. Was he the only click in the field? Had to be, right? Uh, what was we got?

We're on close from the field. Low click on only click. Yeah. That's good. Yeah, that's a good change up. I think he had to be. Uh, super. We got to talk super real quick, super. Yeah, hand up. You got to have a four hour super cut. He got caught tampering with evidence today. Check it stuff out of evidence. It turned on investigation. That'd be cut. Um, yeah, guys, I do have to report T T 46 for P. Yeah. I have to report our, uh,

this or that, um, head to heads that we did on Wednesday's show all time, epically bad performance by the crew, just extremely extremely, extremely bad. T C was the best at nine and 10, uh, nine wins to 10 losses. Uh, DJ went eight, uh, eight for 19, eight and 11. I went six for 19, uh, six and 13, Randy went five and 14, uh, in our head to head. So he said he's really, really, really, really excited to do that. Really tough.

It was just really tough. Yeah. Yeah. Scotty versus Rory, only Randy hit, uh, on that one, uh, with Scotty, only DJ hit Alex Fitzpatrick versus Matt Fitzpatrick. We all had Tommy against Sam Burns that didn't work out very well. We all had teeth against JT that didn't work out very well. Uh, we all, yeah. Yeah. That's not good. So anyways, we beat on. Yeah. Uh, yeah, hamstered him. You got, I mean, I feel like I've made my voice known on, on X, the everything at where,

where everything's happening. Kisner's replying to people mid, mid broadcast. Um, I didn't quite understand the vitriol, like his, like, like, his Bryson call or his Bryson minus 10, Sam Burns call. Like I didn't think that was out of bounds or anything like that. I thought, I thought he just could have said it in a more concise or clear way. But, um, but like all day,

it was just, there's just no, there's never any analysis from it from anybody. It's just telling us

what we're seeing on the screen. When we are seeing something on the screen, it's, I mean, Sally, you were logging the commercials for a while there. Yeah. It, uh, there was a time period there, where they went, um, I can get the, the final. And not time periods. I was like the last six holes.

Yeah. Like the most important part of the tournament, uh, they took, I believe six commercial

breaks in a 39 minute span, um, in like the most crucial stretch of the tournament. It was, uh, I mean, like, it's, it's, it's, we've done this a million times. I don't know how many more times we can do it. So like, let the records speak for itself throughout a pull up a poll on the everything app. And sure, the crowd on the everything app is a little angsty and, and, and feisty and self, you know, this is self-selecting in some way. A total of 5,595 people voted on this, uh,

93.

NBC or you can think, you know, even, or if you're a listener that thinks we're wrong on the broadcast, that's fine. But like, night, what else could I have asked and gotten 93% of people to vote a certain way? Like I honestly don't know. Like I think people would troll the other way, no matter what I asked. That's true. Did Ryan Fox win the tournament? I bet like 10% of people would vote no. Just for fun on there. And 93.4% of people, right, price advantage. Yeah, exactly voted unsatisfactory

for the NBC product there. So like that, I don't just want to let it speak for itself on that. It is, it's impossible to watch. It's dated. It needs blown up and changed.

Can I just, the only thing I'll add, because we've been over this a million times too many voices,

the answer is it needs to be simplified. Like my, my biggest frustration is that it's just all

clutter, which is all controllable. You know, it's like I could put up with the commercials if it was just let the golf go too many voices, just trying to do too much and get too many, you know, commercials in. It's just, it's just like, so if it, if it was like, man, you guys really got to up your camera angles and you got to, there's not enough tech involved. If it was that kind of thing, even that, though, because it's because, because you guys don't know how hard this is to

broadcast. I'm like, my point is you're making it harder. The issue I have is that you are over complicating what's already a very hard thing to do. We're watching. So, so Scott Vampelt had a tweet about, you know, just golf, Twitter, a large, and how it's just, you know, it's crazy, nobody's ever satisfied with anything, but I think everybody's united and like, hey, this isn't good. This isn't the answer. Like, we're not saying that we know how to, to broadcast or produce a

big time golf tournament, but you, you are literally giving us the other option of like, there's, there's like sky and the world feed is doing it with less resources and they're doing it at a far higher level and I get that they have less clutter. But I think we're at the point now with USDA and the RNA where I think for the good of the game, like, be okay with maybe taking less money from a competitor and feeling like you're putting golf in the best foot forward, because I think

you're turning off an entire generation of potential fans. And I think like, that's a short side of decision that is that is maybe hurting the long run of the game. And I would say the same thing to the tour as well. I mean, they're not even doing the little things, right, or like the baseline easiest stuff, right? They had American flags next to all sorts of got like Lucas Herbert's name yesterday. They had Cameron Young on the on the leaderboard twice. They're missing all sorts of

shots. It's, I get that they have not even the first part. Like I think you know what I mean? Like

it's just like details. It's like broken windows stuff that's just like, like, the house just isn't in order. Like somebody tweeted today, they're like, yeah, like they're they're televising

this, like they're they're under a constant cyber attack. That's what it feels like. And then,

I mean, teach to your point about like Trico, like just make it like Trico and one or two other guys in booths and then a bunch of guys out on the ground to your point and you'll simplify it. Like it's, it's, and then it, I don't know, it's just like the camera angles are bad. I don't think Tommy Roy, like, the game is passed him by. Like seeing the camera angle that they had for Foxy's final put and the camera angle that the world feed had, it's like staring straight down from the

top of the clubhouse with no, with no context, no reaction, no fans at all versus the world feed one is showing, you know, half the grandstand and all that. I had a friend coming from Australia who he texted me today, he said, man, like, I've been here for three days now. Now I see why what you guys are talking about with NBC, like this is horrendous effort. So it's just frustrating, man. Yeah, I don't, I don't have anything to add. I agree. The, the thing I'll say is I, I've made the

very conscious decision to switch yesterday, I talked about this, but when when they're having

they're frothing everybody up for Bryson to get to the first tea on Saturday, who know, is he

going to play? He's not going to play even if you're a casual fan. It's like that's got to be the number one story. And when you're doing that and playing through, it's just like blaming on contracts, blaming on companies, blaming on the RNA, blaming on the direction, blaming on whatever, I just, I'm not going to be involved. If there's another, if there's an option to watch a different

broadcast, that's what I'm going to be. And so I watch Sky and the world feed, which is, I feel

sheepish saying is available through the media site. If you're credentialed, so it's like, we had access to watch that, but it almost was a, it was like proof by omission or like proof by

Removing yourself from the situation.

watched today. And I'm like, fuck, is that because I, I watched it on like really good TV or is that

because the open always like this and I just don't, we don't ever get to watch it like this. It just

was, it threw me in this weird mindset of, you know, it was almost like disconcerning how fun it was to watch golf on TV. I'm like, I knew it, man. I knew it's fun to watch this. And once you, yeah, once you get rid of all that clutter, it's just you're kind of left with great players playing great golf courses. And that's, that's kind of all you need. I would say like, like, if you're the RNA or the USDA or the PGA tour, put them on concurrently on two, two screens in a conference room

and sit there and watch five or six seconds. Yeah. And you got to just just see, but like, in a compliment for the world feed and featured groups and Scott, like it's brilliant. The commentary is brilliant. The open radio is brilliant. The the color and wit and just description that they use. It's, it's like everything I love about the open. And so my thing is like, why doesn't let me see you just save the fucking money and just, just use the world feed. So that's where I'm like,

that's what I'm like in the hands of everybody's always yelling at. This is so hard. It's so expensive.

You have no idea. I'm like, dude, I'm just like, what is the world feed? I can't even describe, like, who's paying? I don't understand how the finances of the world feed work. But I'm watching, like, I'm not just watching them do all of these things. The whole thing is the commercial load squeezes all of this out. And like, I, again, this is where we all just kind of throw up our hands at each other. Like, I get you paid mass of fees and you got to make it back through

commercials. And what you're just not getting about this, everyone that wants to argue with, you know, from the, from the networks, wants to argue, it's, we don't care who to blame in this. This just sucks. Like, this, it six commercial breaks in 39 minutes during the most consequential stretch of it. Like, you understand those are the most valuable commercial. No, I do understand those the most valuable commercials. You don't understand to seize, to seize point. You are, you are turning off an

entire generation of it. 93 and a half percent of people said that was a completely unsatisfactory effort. Like, if you don't take that and change things, again, that's where I only want to finish the sentence. Then I would finish it by saying, then you obviously don't care. But like, that's obvious at this point. Like, they just don't. And it's not going to change until I don't know what caused it would cause it to change. I really don't, I don't know. I, I would be more worked up if we weren't

able, didn't have the blessing of being able to watch other options this week. Because it, like, it's impossible when you were breaking every five or six minutes or eight minutes, whatever it is to get into any kind of flow watching, watching a sport. It's just not possible. What if it's actually

a glowing brain, false flag thing, did you just get everybody to subscribe to Peacock?

I've said for years, I'll pay for this. I'll pay for an option to not have to sit through all these commercials. I really, I fucking love golf. I do. Yeah, God, this is where it, this turns into a 40 minute conversation, but this is where it's, there's just not enough of those people. So, this is where I think golf gets really interesting over the next 10 years. As far as, how do you, you allow the, the casual or the, the very core fans, the people who are like, I'll be there on CBS

every Sunday at 4 p.m., I don't care what tournament it is. How do you allow them to be critical

mass enough to support an entire TV deal? Well, also having all of these realities and we're going to break every five minutes, we're going to just kind of take advantage of the system that we have, but also they're not being enough people to sustain a paid product. It's just, you know, I don't know. I'd just be very weird and then you throw in inflated purses and then you throw in we can't go backwards and then you throw in rival tours and then you throw in, and it's where it's like,

all right, well, it's probably good for the two hour and six minute mark. But that's fun, whether like the PGA tours in that scenario, but I would argue, all right, what's the mission or the intent of these governing bodies? PGA of American included is to be stewards of golf, to be stewards of the game, bring it forward. That's not at all costs, right? Like, like, like, I just don't know why they need, I don't know, like, I know they're floating their entire

budget off of this, but at some point, like, at what cost, right? Like, if you're turning it, yeah, grab it, golf fans away from your own, your own thing. It's, it's just, it's like, it's like, you're choking yourself off. It sucks. So a lot, I just go back to the, you bring, like, three goes a total pro. You bring them all the way over there and then you don't

use them. There's a spot. I just don't, I've never, like, I would, I would, like, one of these

actually to explain that to me. It's like, is that his, well, I can't think it's his choice, because

He's just hanging out.

have, like, three other crews. Yeah, I'm like, why don't we do this? Yeah, I agree. So this isn't

perfect, but they're, they've got a hell of a lot better. But it clears the bar. Like, I don't feel

like we need to dedicate 10 minutes. We're not wondering whether they care or not. Yeah, I don't dedicate 10 minutes of, like, nitpicking their mistakes apart, because it's, like, it just feels

like the efforts there. And it feels like they clear that it's never going to be perfect. Again,

producing, you know, common thing we say with all these producing a sport with 18 different stages and 70 balls in play is inherently extremely hard. And it just, it's like, man, the commercialization of this sport has just gotten out of control. And it is suffocating the biggest golf events. And it's kind of like all, we, you know, it's the events that are supposedly gotten bigger and bigger with the PGA tour and live separation. And as we get into a new era

and whatever that looks like, it's just all got to change. I know this is PGA tour conversation first, USGA in R&A is a different thing, but man, just not it, it's not it. And Michael Kim's commenting on this. Like, this is, this is breaking contained. Like, the players are, players are

texting me about it. Like, you know, I have friends of mine from high school texting me about this.

How do you guys watch this every week? Like, it, it is broken contained outside of just us bitchy golf Twitter folks. Like, that's not what this is anymore. It's a massive problem. But the role that I usually play here, uh, we're not just pointing things out. What I would say is TC had a great idea. I also tweeted this to Josh Carpenter. NBC is off of the golf. So the entirety of the FedEx Cup playoffs will be carried by NBC. CBS.

All right, CBS, excuse me, NBC will be back next for the president's cup. I said, I know that they care. Everybody at NBC, please sit down in a conference room, do an AR and have three screens and have the product that they put up, the world feed with Andrew Carter and the the sky feed and point out and say, okay, if people are saying, this is what we like, there has to be a middle ground there. Playing through is become a crutch, uh, but playing through is also supposed to be

an advancement to where you could still see shots. But it's hard when you're comparing it to

sky in the world feed, we're like, pivotal shots are going. You have to be able to pull yourself

back out of commercial to show them. Uh, and we gave glowing reviews here, of course, for having sky on peacock. Please don't take that away. Oh, please, please don't take that away. That's going to be, that's going to be what happens. Like, I didn't realize we had Scott, we got to get rid of that. We have a GEO fence. That's shit. This is my story in Robert's prison. It finds out about that. That is what's going to happen. And, and that would suck really, really bad. Uh, we mentioned

open radio by far. My favorite thing about the open every year, major shout outs. I know Marcus Sue, uh, the great Sophie Walker. Everybody else there gave us a lot of run big. Unfortunately, we've been going over for the AIG women's open the last couple of years. No radio this year for the women. So, uh, maybe next year we'll see what happens. But I loved it. Plenty of time cut and grass. There's, there's ample opportunities to get your open, uh, coverage. It just stinks that like

the worst option is the one that we're served here in America. Yeah, kind of the one more idea for the RNA, make the world feed available for a $10 fee for the week. Like, let's put that on peacock.

It never breaks. They do not have commercials. It's just called the whole time. Well, I think that's

the thing. Like, they're sending that in other countries get, you know, they'll, they'll put their announcers on it or like, like, but that's the thing like these cameras. NBC uses some of the world feed cameras. Like, it's, and, and yet, even the color grading in saturation is totally out of whack. It's, like, everything, they get everything wrong. Zero taste. And that's legitimately, it's like, I couldn't pick the commentary, too, but it's not even, oh, we could easily do that

if, but it's just like, dude, yeah, it doesn't. It's unprepared. It's not it. Uh, final standings from the easy office pool, uh, Neil won, uh, won the pool this week, $2.5 million. You didn't get a candy my window, Josiel has players got 2.5 million. All right, the scenes. Cameron Young, uh, was a big carry there. See, Woo Kim as well. Excellent draft from, you know, I got

second, uh, just shy of 1.4 million. Randy, big Sunday from Scotty is favorite player. God,

I'm almost a million bucks. T.C. Uh, took 500, he mentioned Foxy, taken for you mentioned Foxy before taking Cameron Smith with his last pick. Uh, was put around the right waters, just in just a side of with Cody drafting for him. Unfortunately, we'll be fit. Uh, 300. He was canceled. Cody, what do you think? You think we're doing the get the get ready with me video or the

Watch in the hawk on Netflix?

Neil fucked up is getting ready with me video. I got it. You got to put the hydro layer on my

hand. I have my own process. It's not the process. Okay. I went, went early with the hydro layer. You're laying all these anti aging over the top of the moisturizer. You just don't, yeah. That's not what you were. No, no. No question. I made it to the bit. Like you were like very clearly paying off a bet. The bit was going to be like, I need you to like get ready with me as I get ready for the lot. I need you to play with it and you you broke the fourth ball. I don't care. I get disappointed

my way. Just like Sinatra. It disappointed. Did it my way disappointed. Anything else before we wrap?

Congrats to Foxy. That was very, very memorable major championships Sunday. It does make me feel better. It's such a hard afternoon, man. And today was like as good as a day as you could possibly dream up following yesterday, which is just so shitty, but I'm pumped that Foxy won. Because it seems like a fucking awesome dude. I think Foxy might have earned

great great man status today. You guys handed out to anybody that you know basically isn't

American. So there he is already probably a great man. But I think Brian Foxx open champion works really well. Like that. I'm still struggling with Aaron Rye, PGA champion. Like that just still feels weird to me. But Ryan Foxx open champion does not feel weird at all. Like that feels that feels like a thing. I'm very, very stoked for him. So it turns out it was coming home. It was just the one maker instead of a clear joke. Yeah, sure. Exactly. So all right. That's going to do it.

Special shout out of course to our friends at title list, the dog that is barking as well, high noon, hold on us and born. And yet he and of course, Joe Seal. Thank you everyone who tuned

in this week. Give the no-ling up podcast a subscribe button. If you don't mind, guys, I think

but I've done the math right. I believe this is a 140 consecutive rounds of major championships that we've done in a live show afterwards. So if that does not earn us a nest membership joining join.knowlingup.com. You can find all the great benefits of the nest there. Some behind the scenes content bonus podcast videos, all kinds of things. This counts in the pro shop. It's all listed

there. But yeah, thank you everyone that tunes in during major weeks. It feels always feels weird

to end them in July. It feels like there should be other men's players gone. Very soon. We'll of course

have the AIG women's open to wrap up major season. But it has gone very, very, very, very quickly.

But thank you everyone. It tunes in live provides a lot of comments in the chat and watches on YouTube or wherever you watch your listen to it. We greatly, greatly, greatly appreciate it. So thank you to Cody, run the ones and tunes, Matt, run in our social. We'll see you back here next week for a slightly less anticipated 3M recap and thanks for tuning in. Cheers. So two of the rules podcast Tuesday. So you've got some rules stuff of it. That's going to be a really good one. You're going

to like that one. That was recorded last week or two weeks ago. It was recorded prior to all of the Bryson stuff. Oh, we still touch on a lot of that stuff. We do not with the most recent examples. But it's going to be a good lesson, I think. So, anyways, awesome. Cheers.
