>> Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No-Lang Up live show presented

as always by our friends at Titleist Solie here.

I got this strap boys with me tonight. Neal Schuster is here, hello, Neal. >> Bangalang, Solie. Happy to be here on a summer Sunday. Let's go, baby.

Big Randy is here, elephant shirts into how we're going. >> I'm honored, big. I need a great, big homey. [ Laughter ] >> Thanks, Neal.

God, I was getting ready to make a joke, Solie. Way to hit Neal, top billing that is in his new contract, but I don't know. >> I feel like I've used that one before. It's good to be with you, Neal.

Good to be with you, Solie. >> I'm still good about your outfit. I was honored to wear that to a birthday party, and then you come in from the top rope like that, unreal. >> See, he's so talkative.

If I go to him last, he stretches it out. If he knows I got to get to you, he wraps it up quicker. >> I'm getting to this show. >> I'll be true, Solie. >> Of course it is.

If the intro and run a show, we got to get there.

We got a lot to chat about here tonight, Scott. He's absolute romp and Memphis at TBC Swampass. We're the U.S. amateur, of course, at Marion. Fun, finished on the D.P. World Tour this morning. If I may say, at Great Northern in Denmark,

LPJ Tour was in Portland.

It was amazing Sunday from Gino Titticoon.

In that one, of course, we got some live golf. As you know, we can't go a week without breaking not a little bit of live golf news. As mentioned, Scottie Dominid, the FedEx St. Jude Jack Waley, Beat J Lang, Junior 4 and 3 at Marion Jeff,

went through the Dane. He won in Denmark. Ross Stilman was leading the Albertson's boys. He opened the last, I looked, and I don't have a current update on that one,

but had a pretty comfortable lead. And that one, as we are live. And Gino Titticoon went to standard Portland Classic. Titleist, of course, was the overwhelming number one ball at the 126th U.S. amateur.

The week started with 263 players. Seeing up a ProV1, ProV1 X or a ProV1 X left dash golf ball. It's 84% of the field. More than 13 times the next most played brand. Among that group, of course,

was the winner who wrote his name into the history books. They four and three victory in today's championship match, while playing his ProV1 X golf ball. With a U.S. open, U.S. amateur, or the U.S. junior, our game's biggest stages.

More of the world's best at every level of the game are consistently choosing the performance quality and consistency of Titleist. The number one ball, and most played driver, most played iron, and most played wedge. This week at [email protected]

to find a fitting near you. At Memphis, this week, guys, these back. Aquaman's back. We weren't worried. We, you know, I'm glad we didn't waste a ton of airspace this past year.

We're worried about Scotty Schaffler. Took a two shot lead into the final round over good friends Sam Burns and Sung J. Didn't start out great. Had quite a rub of the green,

with a green side bunker shot on the third hole,

hit a sprinkler head and went to the water. It really, really affected Scotty. As the only one determined by eight, has responded, burdened five and six, separated Burns got off to a tough start.

And then Scotty, burdened 11, 13 and 16 on the back. No bog East, and it would go on the way. No one else did anything. Sung J melted away. Burns went backwards.

Neil, you get to watch a lot of the golf today. Well, I kind of struggled not to keep it on the USM. You know, I once Scotty's like six clear. And then you put back over like, oh, now you're seven clear. You know, it was just really, it was vintage Scotty.

I think we could start to call something vintage.

It feels like he's been around long enough. Looks super routine, middle of the green. And, you know, on some of these holes. With the par three 11th, you know, just a really like clinical shot there. Like any time there was a chance for maybe things to get a little haywire.

It's just like, there was, he left no doubt all day down the back night. But Randy, he's your favorite player. I want to hear from you on Scotty's win. Second of the season, which is hard to believe. I know.

I know. 21st of his career, I think. And that's all in the last four and a half years. His first win being February of 2022. So it's just impressive.

Yeah, it was just clinic from Scotty. You know, the two shot lead and he's got a, was it a bunker shot or chip shot? I forget exactly what his lie was. Just a chip shot. No, bunker shot was the bunker.

Yeah, on the on the, on the par five third.

And he nearly hits a great little pop out bunker shot. And it hits directly on a sprinkler head. Takes a big bounce obviously kills any backspin on it. And it just goes by the pin into the water. It was a moment like just tough.

Like I can imagine you doing some, you know, something like that on its straps. I'm worried. And that wasn't even. Sam Burns was already in trouble. He had he had driven it.

Wayward on that same par five third.

He had to like punch out his second hit his third into the water. So it's like this really, there was no part of this whole day that was ever endowed. It was, it was a clinic. Scotty is my favorite player. I would have loved to have just seen somebody come and chase him a little bit.

Well, we, we, we honestly, we could assume that whole last two and a half hours.

When they hit the back nine like it saved everybody. The, the sweat and trouble around Memphis. But, um, yeah, just just another notch in in the resume for him. Obviously puts him in firm control. You know, not that he was going to miss the tour championship.

We'll go into the tour championship again ranked ranked number one. It's just, it's just more of the same. I would, I was surprised to see the Fed X Cup leader board. I don't really track it super closely, but see that he was number one. Is that because of today?

Because these, these playoff. So much because he's the best player in the world. Well, of course. But he's only one twice. And so I'm looking down that list.

And I'm like, well, there's some other guys that have, like, feels like came young and Chris got her up three times. You know, that I would think. I don't know that. I, maybe I sound stupid, but that's kind of surprised me because I'm,

I'm like, he, he won the MX.

It's not like he won a huge event the first time around.

And I was just thinking that he'd be in the top five.

But I guess he's just constantly. He has to run around at 10. Yeah. I mean, it is other finishes this year. Well, top five today.

Yeah. He finished third in Phoenix, finished fourth at Pebble Beach, finished second at the master, second at the heritage, second at the Cadillac, finished third at the Byron Nelson, finished second at the Travelers, finished second at the three.

I'm open and T4 at the open, T4 at the US open. I mean, it must just be all the hours he's spent saying, what's wrong with Scotty? You know, maybe there's no way he could be number one. Also, like, first in strokes gained if that's your flavor.

You know, like, he's just, yeah, it's kind of comical. Uh, well, and I heard, uh, Trevor Emblemen say best strokes gained putting performance of his career. Um, he said that on 18 at the end of the broadcast. I don't know if that was for today or for the week.

I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm guessing for the week. He was, he led the field this week.

He gained almost nine shots on the green.

Uh, so far this week and have to assume he led today as well. I mean, that's not fair then. I mean, that's the thing too, like his, his putting has still been good this year. That's, you know, it was, uh, that was the problem. Let's got a pre-malat pre-claw.

And it really has been, there has been a dip in the ball striking. That's, in argument, like the iron play went from being, like, tiger adjacent to just, like, a bad, more a cow a year. Basically, numbers wise. And that's a big dip.

I have to hash up around. Like, I've explained, like, him going from being, you know, a waltz into the Hall of Fame in like a five year span time period versus, like, hey, winning a couple of times a year. Like, it is that big of a difference.

Yeah. But today was like, and this week was just the return of, like, man, your offline shots are going to two yards offline. Maybe. And even when you're making the mistakes, you're scrambling really well.

And just the shot he hit today into, uh, what was at the fifth hole, 529 yard par four. There's only six birdies on that hole all day. We watched, you know, the group of four. Some Jay missed it right.

Sam Burns blew it way right over there. It's a converted par five into a par four. It hits a drive right down the middle of the fairway and, like, holds off this six iron cuts it beautifully back to, perfectly pin high and rules the put in the center was just, like,

do that's the guy we've been watched the last couple of years, man. And, yeah, it's, like, bad time of year. You can get it going, man, like, missed major season. Like, you're now you're going to get super hot. It blow fields away.

It's got to be a little bit frustrating.

I'm sure, but I mean, you're never going to, you know,

good for the bank account for him. I mean, I love him was the whole day for me, you know, that, uh, island green and he hits it, you know, center of the green, Sam Burns hits another, you know, quality shots in the middle.

He's right in Sam Burns's line. Just studies the putt berries, like a 25 footer, like, so routine after, like, hitting the smart shot and then just making the putt. Uh, is that exciting?

And that was thinking about it, you know, tiger used to blow away fields or, like, sometimes when breweries done this in the past, it's like, oh, my God, like, look at this dominance. Uh, I don't know, Randy, I'll, I'll come in for this one

at you, like, is that it's not quite as much fun to watch with Scott.

He's doing it.

And do you think that's 'cause he's not emoting or, like,

what, what would you, what would you say there?

I honestly think of some of it's the, the, the canvas on

which he's painting, like, an, an eight shot, snoozer in, you know, I don't want to get aggregated, like, like, Kyle Porter and piss off the people of Memphis. But it's just not a super interesting venue.

You know, I, I think if you're out of place, like, Hilton ahead or river somewhere where we can appreciate. Uh, touch more, you know, just the golf course is giving you a bit more. I think that's one thing.

I, I, today was more just, it was, it's okay to call a boring. It was boring. Um, and that's not Scottie's fault, you know, certainly. I, I, I'm more upset at, you know,

burns and some of this chase pack, like, could not get any. On Jay, classic stuff from Sun Jay, what's 70 or today, nice after re-great rounds, and then Tommy vintage T7 from Tommy.

Yeah, that's to me. Yeah, they just kind of went away. So, yeah, just a few variables there that I think, you know, unfortunately not, not a Sunday afternoon. But I, the credit I would give the course, like,

for everybody else and Scottie have played tough. You know, like it's a legit challenging golf course for, for the, for the pro players, which we are struggling to find in today's world. So, well, so credit needs to be, you know,

they need some credit for that for sure. And it was firm, like, for August being massively human, like they were totally flying, letting parts of that golf course go. You know, he didn't exit the well into the hundreds today. I mean, it's a nightmare.

There's a time about this tournament that I think is going to represent the past of the PGA tour when we get to 2028. Like, I don't think the future of the PGA tour looks like this event on the playoffs. Look like this.

I don't think we should be going to Memphis in August. But there's a ton to take from TPC southwind as to what challenges players, like smaller greens, awkward angles of the greens, and interesting water hazards, and emphasis on driving accuracy.

I mean, just, there's, there's several shots on this golf course that are like, until you've passed this one, you can't really, I mean, when you have a shot lead, you can breathe pretty easily. But like, 18 is very interesting.

T shot, very interesting. Well, 11, you got to survive that one. What's the other hole in the front nine with the water to the right and two bunkers to the left? I forget exactly which hole that is on the front nine.

Like, that's super interesting. Like, there's a lot, not aesthetically pleasing golf course. It's not especially memorable golf course. It's not even a great golf course, but it is good at challenging the tour pro.

So like, a renovation or like, if we're looking for styles of golf course that are going to challenge guys, it should be more in this blueprint than it should be Craig Ranch. That's for damn sure.

And there's something interesting about watching guys have to hit shots into smaller angled greens with ample punishment around them, including penalty strokes is probably the best formula I think for PGA tour golf.

First is like Memorial Park.

I think this kind of test is way more interesting to watch even if it's not aesthetically pleasing. But that's, that's my vote. Part 70, I think that's a little bit of this. How much is your opinion change?

Sholly, for instance, the 532 yard fifth is a part five, right? Like, all the scores look a little lower. It changes demand. None for me, right? It's not a part five.

It's an average 4.24, 4.23 today. Yeah. Or average, if for the weekend average 4.1, like that's part four.

That's what a part four looks like these days.

It's 530 yards. I'm sorry to say it. But yeah, I'm not a big guide to par. A lot of people are when they flip it on. I think what makes it interesting though is like,

there's a, there's no, the floor is lower for the golf on this golf course. We watched it with, it's not, it wasn't good that Sam Burns and some of you went backwards today. But if you play bad, you are going backwards.

Rory, I watched a lot of his round on Thursday. Man, that guy was me finished very, very poorly. But like he was in a blender. Like this golf course clearly is not one of his favorites. And he kind of refuses to adjust his playing style

for for the question it's being asked at this tournament. But I don't know. The most boring golf tournaments, I think are when the floor is super high and you can play a whole poorly and still make easy bars.

And I've never felt that way about self-wind.

That's fair. That's fair. I think more. Yeah, no, go ahead now. Well, I was just going to say it's produced a lot of playoffs too

in recent years.

So that's why this also surprised me when I looked it on today.

I was like, oh my God, it's got, you know, I probably put it on like around eight, you know, and the front nine, I'm like, yeah, this is getting out of hand already. I was expecting this to be closer. But you know what?

It's also interesting. There's the more I tend to like watching the pros play a course unless I want to play it myself. Some of the, some of the, some of the ones I'm like, this is one of my favorites to walk at Phoenix.

I'm good. I've never played Phoenix, but it's one of my favorite courses to watch the pros play in Southland. I've no real actual desire to play there,

Especially in August.

But, you know, it's, it's fun to watch the pros play. No, I go walking in Memphis.

If you may may come on Randy, go down there.

As long as you'll take me to Beal Street after we're just 100% man. I think macro, what I was going to say, just broadly speaking, there's just a miss, and I know we're headed towards a new PGA tour reality here.

But just tough to square with the idea of like the playoffs and we're coming down to the sort of end of the season and then like you get a weekend like this or a Sunday like this where it's one thing that I've got to kind of walk away. Maybe we should get into like,

there's just not a lot of movement. Like guys jumping into the top 50, guys falling out of the top 50.

It just, I always find it lacking as the first round of the playoffs.

It just, it comes up short for me in that regard. Can I totally flip this on you a little bit Randy? In that, thinking back like the lowest of lows of the PGA tour when they started to lose guys to live and it looked like the PGA tour was like in trouble

and it was just going to be a total shit product. It bought him out so bad that they had the runway to actually make the change they needed to make. To make it interesting for worse is when it was just in motion and going it was really hard to upset the apple card

and make significant change. I think in the next couple of weeks we're going to learn more about the future of the playoffs

and I think it's so bad now that they have the runway

to completely flip it on its head. And they have to do it. It's not a playoff. It's not good system. It's, I am, I'm going to stand on business on this.

It was a massive mistake to get rid of the starting strokes. I still believe that it has made the playoffs go from like a 2.5 out of 10 to a 1 out of 10.

I don't know if you can come up with a worse system

to crown a champion currently on the PGA tour and I'm choosing to see the optimistic side of that currently and that it's going to get flipped on its head. You're going to have to show me. You're going to have to show, I like your optimism

but there's just a lot of stakeholders involved. You know FedEx spends a lot of money and you know what? I'm going to give a shout out for now of course for now. But my point being like that leads to golf and in Memphis and August. So navigating that, I'm not, I'm not as confident as you

that that kind of thing can be navigated. That the scales won't be skipped by stuff like that. So, but I agree with you that they have the opportunity. I want, let's seize the day, Randy. And I should clarify, I think the finale is going to be a lot better.

I'm not as confident in the early leg of the playoffs, but I think it's going to build towards something better. But that can make this week better as well. Like I found myself like kind of hoping, speed made into the playoffs or made into the top 50 to get.

So we didn't have to get sponsored options next year and do that.

Conversation every week, but other than that,

like I don't really care that much about the 50 cut off. Well, I'll be at BMW coming up this week and we just did the build-out pod. And there have had record ticket sales. And the fact that that moves around, I think really helps them add.

I think that creates energy for that event.

And you know, it's only, it's the top 50. So it does feel a little special based on that. But I think, you know, that extent, Jude, like I love, I honestly, the older I get to,

I love the kids put the flag in on 18, like the, the children's hospital stuff. I can't look like the kid. Literally, like the great information. It's good stuff with that.

But the fact that it's, you know, kind of rinse and repeat every year in a really hot place. You can just tell it's like, aggressively hot and that impact the energy on site. Which makes a big difference when you're watching it on TV.

Yes. I think it's, I think that's exactly right. You know what you need when you get like just off the course on a super hot. Maybe not even while you're playing golf on a hot day like that. But when you get off the course on a hot day,

suns up, baby vodka, selts are vodka, iced tea, tequila,

selts are no matter the occasion. High noon has something for you. What do you got there, Randy? We got a nice summer flavor. I don't know if you can see this.

It's a pair. A vodka pair. Yeah. One of my favorites. You're a pair guy too.

Right as a fruit, aren't you? Hmm. Nice. It's got to be a nice pair. But yeah.

Of course. Oh, it's got to be a nice piece of fruit. Any piece of fruit? It's got to be a nice piece. That's right.

I got a watermelon tonight. That's one of my favorites. Yeah. As I'm still working my way through the transfusion stash from that brought back to those man.

You don't know what those are going to be worth. Yeah. I know they might be. I'd be a collector's item. If you're looking for your next pack,

check out the high noon tequila, selts are fiesta pack. It comes in an eight pack or a bigger 12 pack. If you want Moss fiesta all are made with real tequila, real juice,

perfect for any fiesta no matter where you plan to throw it. Find the high noon tequila, selts are fiesta pack nearest you at high noon, spirits.com, high noon suns up.

I just did that guys. I went to hidingspirits.com and I'm here at Chicago.

We got an event here tomorrow.

Found it.

It was it was actually literally just right outside the front door.

So I didn't really need this to help as much as I thought that would. But thank you to hidingspirits. Um, down the board a little bit. I don't have a whole lot more to add.

See we'll finish the second. I did, you know, did find it.

I find it funny that it's Scotty's buddies that always end up finishing close to.

Yeah. And then I really had close to him. But near the top of the board. Well, it makes it feel a little more ruthless, you know, when he doesn't.

Sam Burns coming off of paternity leave. And I didn't. I didn't have the heart to do it to Sam on Twitter today. But I wanted to do. I just did the, you know,

the professor tweet from Goodwill hunting like, you know, fucking easy. This is for me. Uh, from Matt Damon. And I wanted to say,

this is Scotty to Sam. I guess it disappointed him. I'm like, Come on, man. Like, you know,

fucking easy. This is for me. Give me a challenge here. Uh, But yeah,

coming for it. It's it's one of those things. I don't know how many weeks I can do. This was Sam of like. Can't dog the guy for playing good golf when, like,

the speeds and JTs aren't near the board. I'd much at all anymore. And I know he's not getting it over the line. But he's playing a ton of good golf. And I, I refuse to kind of make that.

Uh, be a negative for Sam, especially coming off the fourth top five of the season. Uh, but also a mirror. Also like the third or fourth time.

He's been in the final group.

And, you know, has had a look. Has it got it done? Not didn't have the lead today. Like he did.

Uh, you know, past events where he's come up short.

I'm going to say choked or anything like that.

Um, But just the tough. You do. You say. You say.

I was just going to get out of front of that. Full transparency. That's not what I said. But it's becoming a narrative gentleman. Now,

Good showing though, considering he's coming off for four weeks with a newborn. I want that for the record. Not, you know, didn't drive it great this week.

But, you know, that's got to feel good. He had an into the, into the playoffs when the big money's on the line.

We could pay for some diapers, Randy. Yeah. God, when he said his fourth top five, I'm just thinking back,

like, what do we say? This was Scottie's 12th. And at points of this year, we're like,

what's wrong with Scottie? It's just, it's wild to me. Um, like I said,

it was at third hole, right?

Making a bad double on the part five third,

like any chance to, to make this a two horse race and competitive one out the window early. So, yeah,

disappointing, but I, I agree with you. Obviously, a newborn at home,

like, it's not the easiest. I know that now. So, all in all,

a good week. For, he did say what the, at the British, he was like,

yeah, there's not much I could have, could have done back home anyways. I was like, that was,

a little different experience I think, in the early, early days, like, that's what I want to know.

Somebody's got to do it. Um, So, you mentioned this rainy, like,

just the lack of volatility or movement in out of the top 50,

we had a couple of chances with it today.

That's CBS did a good job covering it. Keith Mitchell, uh, you know, to take the socks and shoes off on 18,

the ball of his feet on the bank, needed to make a birdie to even give it a shot. Uh, did not work out for him, speak,

entered the back nine, inside the top 50 shot, 37 on the back, uh, and we'll miss the playoffs after opening with 65.

Very fun day on Twitter on Thursday. We had a great time with it. Got to get those tweets out when you can, though, man,

it is not built for 72 holes these days, unfortunately, but, uh, speeds,

season comes to an end. What's, what's your last, remember, the Jordan Speed 2026 experience?

It's just the word close. I mean, even down to the, down to the wire. We were close to getting to,

to keep it going, but, yeah, in fact, we are,

we're just, like, truly so close, and yet so far away. Um,

gotty hits him. Like he hit a shot on that, that long, par four fifth out of the bunker. That was exceptional.

Hits it up there to 11 feet. Leaves the put short, you know, and I think I forget who was on the, on the call.

It was like, that's just not a put. You would have ever seen Jordan, leave short when, you know,

at the height of his powers, right? He. So yeah, he makes a turn in 33,

looking like, hey, nice little back nine. We'll, we'll,

we'll have one more week to play. And he, he bogeys 11 bogeys 12, and then two bogeys 15. You see the shot on 12,

like the eight. He drew, that 12 is the whole else thinking of it. The water and the, the bunkers on the left.

Drives in the fairway bunkers on the left, has one 13 flag. And they cut to him and the, and the on course reporters, like he's got a great lie here.

And she's like routine shot. He's like, there was no lip to deal with. Like it's up. The bunkers are low and like flat there.

He skulls it into the lip of the bunker. Like he didn't even clear the lip. It was not even in the, like he just truly, like almost top the bunker shot.

He was lucky. It just came out into the fairway and didn't roll all the way into the water. But it was just like, yeah,

It's,

well, I was doing something. I think I was, yeah, fixed in some food.

And I, yeah,

it's just like every time he pops on the screen on,

with 18 T and he just, you know,

he, I kind of hear the T shot and it's just like hot, mic of him going spin spin spin spin spin spin. And it bounces. It hits a fan,

the fan falls down. It rolls over the cart path into the pine straw. It comes to rest in between some guys legs who's like texting. And the guy just like picks his one leg up. And it's like,

only speed is like, you just look up and that happens. You know, it's just, it's a true drama.

Yeah. It's crazy. You know, like he just, he's just all over the place, man.

And, and, yeah, it's just not going to get it done. Yeah, the week started,

there was a, a speed tracker on on Instagram that was starting to go, fund me to get back the, the $3,000 the invested in the channel, speed camp who bought the channel from a guy who quit on,

speed for 75 dollars. He's joined. He's gone nuclear. He's acquired nuclear weapons. And all kinds of movement on the speed tracker front this week.

But unfortunately, he's going to get,

I'm just going to be a big off season and speed,

the speed tracker on. They're going to have to get their back off his square away. Uh, go ahead. Yeah.

No, sorry. The other shot that stood out,

that the telecast did a good job of calling out in the moment.

It was his approach in the number nine. He's got 129 yards. Uh, I think sandwich. I think this is the right hole.

And just totally, you know, just scrapes it out, out right and misses the green, you know,

like misses his target by 30 yards. I think he ended up 90 feet away, gets it up and down. But like, that's a scoring,

like that's a scoring opportunity. It's just, you can, the morning you watch, like truly,

I think shot by shot. You just come away like, no, this isn't clear. Like this is not.

But then what is in the pine straw? Or he's over by the poor John's. That's when it's like, he hits it to 10 feet, you know,

so he might need to do a little 10 cut. Like, Grailer might need to start getting into like, you know, put his hats like,

make him look stupid. So he's, so when he's only when he's in the fairway, like, make it a challenge or,

because it's like, when he's out of position is when he, like, hits the good shot, it seems like.

I'm proud of myself for not falling for Thursday though.

I had to send out one good, you know, once we had to get hyped a little bit, but it was like,

for like a half a second,

I was like, I've been down to him too much. Like, Am I about to just look really silly? And like,

four holes later was like, now he's, he's not changed. And then we're also talking about sneaking into the top 50.

You know, like, we're not talking about like, all man he almost won today. It's like,

no, he didn't, right? He like any, and he didn't sneak into the top 50.

Uh, And they keep making. Yeah, you mentioned Keith Mitchell. Um,

I'm supposed to do, uh, he was kind of on the bubble to do an interview with next week at a function. So now he's,

we were waiting to see if he got in. He's out. So now yeah, now that there's, I had to prep for two options.

He gone. So he's not coming. You know, he loves it. Uh,

Max, Max, they said the week he had a, I think he had to get top 21. And I think he missed it by,

what he, he's T24. So that was like, man,

um, had to get top 21. And things go your way. And things go your way. Okay.

But I mean, good close from him, he's got a lot of things. So he's got a lot of things. So he's got a lot of things.

So he's got a lot of things. So he's got a lot of things. So he's got a lot of things. So he's got a lot of things. And if he has a bad year next year, he might still make it on points because he's got a ton of major points from the prior year.

Was kind of the the reason behind the change, I think. And it's it's it's I have an article dating back to 2016 writing about how this point system has been needing an overhaul. It's been tweaked and changed a bunch over the years. But it has needed a complete overhaul. I like this idea.

I like I agree with you. And that it does need an overhaul. I don't love it. It's just about the mate the disparity in dollars at the events.

I think you need to go to a more robust.

System that honestly probably some sort of weighted strokes gain system would be the best way to identify the six best players that should just be automatically. Clinched on your team.

Because when you think about it when you pull back.

The six qualifying spots are four.

Guys, you know, it should be a pretty easy formality. Like it should be guys you already want on the team. And like you just don't want to get trapped with somebody that earned a bunch of points that's in bad form that you don't want to bring with you. And I don't like using wind and Clark as the example there. I got that's a little unfair to him.

We don't know how he's going to be playing a year from now. But like that one would stick out. He has a good start to the year again next year. And then plays like shit the rest of the way. But it's in on points and you've got to take him even though you're not.

He's not viving. That's the only situation you've got to guard against. So I've got to get you be a two year calendar.

Would be my first question. I what I would propose is something they would never do.

But what I think the best way to identify the six best players would be some sort of weighted strokes gained over certain time period kind of similar to how you do an aging of WGR.

Of points earned, but it's it's more of a rate base. So it's not just telling, you know, if you if you make 25 starts for somebody that makes 15, you can just earn more points and be higher on the list. And something that is, you know, is going to point first start. So it's like, it levels it basically. Yeah, a more something like that.

Maybe that exactly. And yeah, I know I'm a data golf nerd and you can realize this too. But it would be like that or like a data golf points per a data golf points aging system of some kind. Like their their point system is like the OWGR system is really heavily weighted towards wins.

Seconds things like that and can kind of throw out a bunch of missed cuts.

Like you can overcome a lot of bad play with one great week, which I think is like maybe not the best way to identify your team. I would want more consistent players on a week to week basis and there's there's points there's ways of getting there. That kind of reward recent good play get also good long term play like I think trying to strike the hottest hand is is not what you want out of a qualifier. So some sort of like really dull system would probably be best I'd be surprised if they made it.

That intuitive and that drastic of a change, but that's how I wouldn't I would hope you end up with this express players going into it.

So we'll see. I like the fear saying we're doing big change. I think if you're does represent does not represent big change. He's quite literally the opposite of big change. He's been a part of like 14 or 16 teams or something like that at this point.

I might be a little high on that, but he is he is part of the establishment that is that is coming from the inside though because you know how does that. No, it's how the bureaucracy works. It's best best case scenario. I think so. Well, you didn't.

I still didn't get an answer out of you on what timeframe do you think would be right. You think it should be two years. I think it should, but I think like the waiting of something that happens this year is going to have like a 20% waiting. You know, even the biggest events like, you know, a major win this arbitrary number. Let's say you get a hundred points in this system for winning the US open.

By points time next year, maybe that gets aged down to 20, right?

Like in the the most recent major finish you're going to have your full points of that one and it's going to be more representative. And you know, you could dive in there pretty easily and make a pretty a mathematical formula that makes sense that kind of rewards the true town level of a lot of. These guys. I mean, JJ spawns up the presence comes a different list and maybe use FedEx Cup points, but like Ben Griffin JJ spawn are way up on that list as of right now. And that's not representative of who's playing the best golf on the US side and if the presence got mattered could be training towards something that was was not good.

But Jim's got my number. Haven't haven't heard from him. I don't think that is a service issue because I use AT&T and AT&T believes in connecting people to greater possibilities. Oh my god. And they do that.

And they do that through a network that keeps people meaningfully connected to those who matter most friends family and more. So the moments that matter feel closer and clearer because it's not just about being more connected. It's about being better connected or ever life takes you when the connection matters. It has to be AT&T to find out more head to ATT dot com backslash connect to change AT&T connecting changes everything. I pulled that out so fast JP wasn't even ready with the bottom banner or that one because that was quality stuff, you know.

I know connection matters when Randy unbricks. You know he needs that stuff awake so he can get brick back up. You know I'm going to get hot when we get in the rider cup section. Sorry, I was just looking at data golf real quick to find like some of the biggest deltas between. I was just doing that too, Randy.

Yeah, and I feel like solid what you're talking about would would obviously help a guy like Bryson at the moment who. You know, it's getting knocked in the OWGR and obviously not playing PJ two events, but data golf wise still still up there. Um, or can't lay can't lay 12 in my reading this can't lay 12 on data golf and then 41 in the OWGR.

Correct, yeah.

Yeah, so I got like can't yeah exactly, you know, so that's that's kind of who it would benefit maybe. You would look at that that rider cup is pointless.

So can't lay 17th in that 12th in data golf and Russell Henley's ninth in data golf third in presence cup points.

Okay, just because yeah, it and they're right next to each other over the last. Three months, six months, 12 months in strokes gained again, which is just if you don't like strokes, it's just your golf scores. That's all that is that's not it's not a fancy metric at all like it's just literally how well you get the golf ball on the whole. Like those two are almost mirror images of each other and they're way apart on the points list like that's not that's not good. I think that's exactly what that means.

Because what do you say, what's been griffin on the current rider cup points list, I don't know what he's on rider cup, but on the presidents cup, that's he's fifth apparently in the president. Okay, yeah, he's 26 the according to data golf, yeah, so it's yeah.

And he's like 20th best American player over the last six months, like that's that's what you got to that's what you got to change.

So I want one last question for how would you feel if they just throughout the list. I think it would be a remarkably similar final result. Like I think quite often. Yeah. Yeah.

I want to talk about it.

I've been long before our business.

I've been long times. Yeah. Good man's up. I know, like let's make the captain's important. Let's see who wants to stick their neck out.

I'm of the opinion that qualifications kind of stupid because again, back to the original scenario. Like what's your either going to pick that guy anyways or you're going to get stuck with a guy that you don't really want to take. It only kind of only has downside, like you almost as the captain should be able to pick your system. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. It would be like somebody like read that automatically qualified for 2014 that you probably wouldn't have got a pick.

And he ends up being like a stud is like the alternate of being saved by yourself, you know,

making it a potentially poor pick. Anyways. U.S. amateur at Marion this past week, our winners Jack Waley from the UK. He beat Carter Loffland in the semi finals and then went on to beat Jay Lang Jr. In the finals 36 hole final today, one four and three made a put on the 15th green to win that one.

Rain soaked final day. Just 15 months ago, Jack was playing NAA golf at Dalton State. He was down at the turn at the 18 hole turn, but Lang did not play well in the afternoon and Waley really had it going on in the rain. Anti climactic finish, but fun week you got you got to watch a lot of golf a lot of U.S. and this week. Neil sounds like.

Well, not like focused. And but a feed and kids. You know, it's really good. You know, background stuff like I thought Marion. I really really find that course charming.

I think it really helps that I've been there and played it. And I've called it this in the past, but like it's the it is the HQ, the home of par force. You get those two parfies early.

I think it's number two and four or five. I can't remember which one.

Number four. Yeah, and then it's just all and even the par threes are all like crazy long. You know, except for 13, it's just like various lengths of par force. You know, because the par threes even feel like that. And like the 11th holds perfect.

I just think it's such a good example of like in the final match. Jay Lang Jr. misses right. And they had, and you see they're a really good job in the Rolex commercial free stuff. It made it. I think really helped with the viewing of like the aerial shot with the drone of that.

And then the fairway ends and it's just like the green is tiny with that finger that goes out the back. But then the creek is there, which is really intimidating. But then there's nowhere to miss because it's all rough. You know, so you can't where he was, he's 177 yards away. He can either lay up like 40 yards in front of him or he's got to try to, you know,

send it up into the rough on the left. I just think there's a lot of charming nuance to that golf course. And I thought it held up really well with the, with the modern stuff. And then just little stuff that makes it stand out. Especially for match play, then teen off of the putting green on 14.

You know, what she said, what you want, you know, about oh my god, why do they have to do that?

I still think it was kind of sweet from the, from the air. You're like, oh my god, the teen off from the middle of the practice putting green. And a lot of just funky, you're talking about angles at TPC south wind, Sally. So many funky, like little subtle dog legs and and greens that are diagonal and, you know, just a, I thought a really good, you know, match play course.

Obviously because, because guys, you know, they could try to bully that place. And it played, I thought they firmed it up day over day. And then, you know, obviously the rain today changed things a little bit. But, yeah, and now it's hard.

I'm not an amateur golf expert.

So it's, but there were some, some stories and some guys you can kind of, you know,

Miles Russell's, you know, kind of perk up when you, when you watch him and his, him and his match with Counten writer. Yeah, was awesome. A writer. Cowen. Right. What is it? David's Riley. David Thompson. You know, a lot of David's is the that like that match was awesome. And then the MGA. I

know some of these. I don't know them, but I'm trying to plan some of these MGA events. It's got Matt low and Christian Cavalier. These guys are beating up the MGA and Christian

Cavalier. He lost the Jack Whaley in the I think the round of

16 or maybe 32. But he's like 28, 29, like the last mid-AM standing. And so I, you can kind of, you don't know who any of these guys really are, but you can kind of lock on to like, oh my god, you you start to like root for one guy and then the next day you're like

they make it. So I always find the USM really, really fun to watch and

plan out of classic course like this. I really enjoyed it. The early rounds especially like the, you know, the match play when they got a lot going on. There's no commercial like that Wednesday viewing was great. I think it, you know, you get to the end and it's you know they don't they don't televised the first 18 of the of the championship matches. It's

tough man in today's day and age of, you know, I get that there's a lot of challenges with that, but I don't think the production has to be amazing TV quality for it to be watchable. Like I'm I'm trying to catch up via Twitter and watching all the videos as it is like just having a decent stream up somewhere for the many channels I'm paying for

seems within reason. And I know I'm begging here because you know we get the commercial free golf during this section and it's like some of the best stuff and be seeing golf channel does in terms of just presenting raw golf and covering stories because they have time to do it and all that and it's you know I'm not even sure if I'm directing this at the USGA or at NBC

or what but it does I just hate that it ends on in the note of like man I kind of would like to watch this morning the golf this morning if I could have but but the strip like John wood did a great job on course kind of what we were talking about with the open or the US open of like it's smiling the booth with Dan Hicks and it was John wood and that was kind of

the that was that in front of the squad you know they had they had some like you know whole analysis of the next whole playing a lot easier to do a lot more time to fill but the fact that it was just kind of like three voices again I like that is my biggest recommendation for them is like you know let's get to Rico in there what if we're doing the you know US open like that

would work man like we can we could just go on course and have them

volley with with one or two guys in the booth I think that works yeah

Marion for me I have I have to start with like I didn't most of my golf watching the assembly was not the engaged kind but like with sound on and like truly locked in and watching it so I wasn't able to follow the matches really really really closely and and get engulfed in it having said that I felt like I understand where Marion sits I understand the

classic nature of it I and I haven't really like fully I thought about this a lot and I do not think I'm going to communicate this very well so I'll just get that

get ahead of that part but I feel like it is an amazing golf course to play

amazing golf course to visit I have so much respect for Philadelphia golf in general the fan turn out everything to it it's kind of closer to Oakmont to me than I felt like I was gonna feel at the end of the week I was kind of excited to see match play on this golf course and I still think we are seeing a bit of a massage version of Marion that is not the most entertaining style of golf

just a lot of rough and I don't think it if it didn't like stand out

amazingly for me in match play I am concerned about 2030 for the US open I think

they can do things to it to suppress the scoring like I think they did some of that this week like some of the molines were like the way the 18th whole play just in general of like narrow fairway that's heavily candid and a green that can't really hold shots from the rough was kind of like suppressing for the sake of suppress scoring instead of like a really great test of golf that's one example of it and just there's just so many

short holes like if you are familiar you know not familiar with with Marion it's called the opening six acts are called the drama like they've got long you know holes in the early six stretch them there's short quirky stretch that's the six holes in the middle are called the comedy in the final six holes like put the danger you know near the end and the difficulty long part three seventeen you know over the quarry on 16 the the difficult 18th are called the tragedy

like that's the it's a it's a three acts play and we've seen this play once at the US open in 2013 they kind of quite heavily influenced that golf course hits and pins made it you know a lot

Of balls hitting greens and ending up in rough in the same spots good and oka...

same spots in the rough it was just a little bit too much of that for what is regarded as one of the world's great golf courses for it to be like compared with like something like Chinacock that we just saw that was kind of my takeaway in terms of what I like to watch it just was a lot of didn't see like I didn't feel like I saw a lot of variety of shot making on display on this golf course because it was a lot of chipping out of rough and a lot of hacking out of rough off the tee that's that was

mine I'm not argue with that I don't I think it is a different brand of golf but I think it

requires precision because the greens are a lot like the cop-to-op-comp-mon is where I'd push back a little bit I think with the rough yes but the greens are a lot smaller and a lot more slope in

them from you know what I I never been to open up those things and I was referring to fairway with

and rough when I say open up I'm not necessarily the style of the course just like that that those two particular elements I should have been clear on that you're right yeah but I mean listen I you know long that is a part of as we said after Chinacock I think that is part of American golf and it that could be like not your favorite version of that but I think Marianne's a good on the top end like the better version of the long scary rough type of course

that then some other places they go if that makes does that you do you know what I'm trying to say with that like yeah yes yes like you think it's a charm and so don't see to this total um to the to the lengths of holes and to the dog legs and some of the ways the greens sit on approaches

I think it make it I think it's much more technically challenging than just like

every ball's ending up in the rough you know I agree on the design of that and I think it's

more maybe I'm talking more set up then of like sure how it play it almost how they have to make a shorter golf course play for the best even amateurs in the world sit somewhat similar to how I thought about a ronimic about like dude I just don't know if this course can hold up lengthwise and what you've got to do to make it not be a birdie fest I'm just not overall probably going to be a fan of and it's it was like fine for this tournament but like looking ahead to 2030 man

I'm just like I know we're gonna potentially different equipment by then if they get that done by now by then but it is just got me me nervous for just some elements of of of of professional golf at the highest level that I don't love in terms of what they do with setup but it's it's nitpicking and super niche nerdy stuff I know but that's my that's my good well I'm more of a story I wasn't thinking too hard about it I just like watch and match play and especially like you know young

guys play and match play when they're like I'll bring up the 11th hole again guys just make a really bad decisions you know jack way don't like j-line junior hits it should have laid up to the fairway hits it in the rough on the left and then jack way just plays really quickly dumps it in the creek you know it's like what do you guys do in man the rain starts it's just like a lot of variables going on and then j-link three puts the next hole I don't know it's just

kind of fun it was fun to watch so I didn't want to I don't want to think too too hard about that you know I enjoyed it I'm sorry you didn't get out to get in the merch lines I know you were you were looking forward to that you know you were looking forward to that I thought about it I wanted to get down the marion but it just you just see those merch lines I did yeah I would have not have been in them but yeah and and it is truly like you make the round of 64 it feels like I mean

because j-line junior he was like a 200th in the amateur rankings like an 18 months ago and I think

he won the western am and almost wins the US am sounds like new pudder new pudding stroke new pudding you know just like oh you know just snapped and snapped into it because what you you sent a stat over earlier saw you was like two and six and two six and two this was from amateur golf dot com he was two six and two and match play at the NCA level as of 18 months ago and it comes in the western am which is a match play and then almost wins the US am is going to the masters

runner up at the US Amherr and jackwells dad's on the bag like that's just I don't know it's hard not to get hype when he buries like a 15 footer to win the US am and it just gives his dad a massive hug in the rain like I'm I'm here for that shit you know what I mean yeah that's that's awesome NBC does a great job to in these events of like getting people involved in their life coaches and and telling stories of people that have been a part of like you know these fun these final guys

growing up and and you know coaches at different levels they had his his coach at Dalton State

they had him come into the grounds as well they do they do a great job with that stuff so we're always

critical in the last thing I'll say I'm gonna shot Tyler Watts played with him played 18 with him at the US National Development camp the video we did back in February and Ben he said it to me he's like did this kids real he's like lefty and he's going he's gonna be a freshman at Tennessee

He lost I think he lost the j-line junior in like the round of 16 but just yo...

seeing these kid I'm like oh shit I know that guy you know what I mean like and so he just yeah has tons of game so it's it's uh it's fun to get that check in with the amateurs and hopefully we see some of these guys pop on the pj tour next you know five years you know I have I have two

questions real quick Neil the first question for you I I know your brother would know this but

remember that running joke that we've always made about how anytime we'd mentioned Steve Flesh you

know he's from northern jack jack and way son what jack and way okay jack waley was reminding me of that every tonight my heard of the name that it's jack and way son so soon maybe grand son you might be jack and way's grandson something like that anyway these flesh is either his parents his grandparents were very close with my grandparents and they say oh jack and way you know jack jack flesh total class act also what were they given away in this in in the merch tense I wonder

because I do want people to know you can go on u_s_j_ dot org and they you can buy stuff online from the me I don't think it was there was the pro shop it was the pro shop was just one there were one like the marion marion the wisk wicker basketball yeah if you know it's all

this top 100 matching you know logging stuff going on Randy first logo logo bingo baby people

people want to another notch on the old belt yeah okay well carry on yeah you got to get your

your marion specific gear i understand that you have to uh a few things on the d_p_ world tour

uh Jeff winter wins the uh gosh what's it Danish open made in ten mark what does it actually called now that something the made in mark i think it was but now it's called something else but anyways he won that uh today uh he won that yeah he won that uh great northern which we went to at 2022 uh season of torusos game in avia let go family they flipped the nine's and it was an electric finish the six was that part time yeah they finished on a part three over all of it played such a hard

hole and you got body on that oh i hit such a good shot tune and came up just short it was horrible but Jeff winter got to that all so uh you know dribble four uh part five and then the part three finisher brassman's boy guard chipped in for eagle on seventeen to briefly tie winter who was putting for eagle back on sixteen who also made that put uh so he took a two shot lead but you know

you hit that part three finishes are sick by the way one yeah never be a super dramatic hole like that

where he has a two shot lead and they were the announcers were just like anywhere on dry land anywhere just anywhere left you got to go left there you got to go left it he starts it right because like and it's a longer carry to the back right part of that green and drew it to the middle of the green it was a really good shot to like sixty feet but it was dramatic just being up by two and just being like I don't screw up shot yeah it was a really really good finish this morning um

what are so so you got pasty ampoh par three finisher what would be another uh what's I think it's a good old white at um the west Virginia why my green briar which is part three finish torch image it was east like was and they flipped that's right um but yeah not not too bad I can't you know they don't come to me very quickly I'm sure there's a few more we did I will on on the L. P. J. tour you had MAC at T.Wa this year for the for the for the growth the Kroger event was a part three

finisher yeah um this is just coming across my desk to I hope I'm saying his name right y'all y'all on so zao uh an 18 year old from china i i i i i don't recall I was taking it back I was kind of watching passively this morning waiting in the airport because that am massive three and a half hour united delay um and the announcement I've re wound this to hear it back like the announcers were like talking about the skis 18 years old had seven winds last year on the china tour and he like

the announcers like this kid is not a star he is a superstar they're going out of their way like

this kid is is coming uh finished third earlier this year at the Hanan classic uh in china uh and

is in a massive tie for second this week he had the lead at this point earlier on the day uh in an up finishing in second place but just megas you want to 18 year old from china uh y'all on zao uh is one of them i mean you can get here first before T.C. does sure he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's mine he's getting on the the international president's capacity we get him on the team this year yeah that this goes back

to my president's cup that even there there should be at least two slots on each team that have to be taken by like an under like an under 22 player you know like a rising next gen type type player this guy would be perfect can you imagine throwing them into that situation the a on the a on risks to pick yeah yeah uh he also hit a 514 yard drive this week kneel uh on that

Down downhill par 5 they wrote the car path but he did it a 514 still fun now...

and did you see a romaine lingo and west you see a second serve oh you got to click that link

in the in the agenda you got to be honest this was this was everywhere uh on twitter he has a

second serve that looks like he's hitting at 55% strength not like not like in that now this this one clip that was going around did go 313 yards uh with this little smack uh that he's hitting on it but I I thought for sure you would you would you would love the second serve from that lot of the how much he's choked up I love this that's it man oh yeah just a light follow through he did not carry it more than 230 yeah but that's it you just want that little bleeder you know a little

kick serve Randy kind of shoots shoots right on yeah it's good stuff I'd like to see you do this one

I've never seen your second serve is faster than that I want to see you do a third serve it is but

it's almost I haven't been grooving it lately but the problem is and this why you do I should swing slowers that you could just get that hot left ball when you choke up like this if you you can get you squally if you forget to like move your body yeah if you just let your arm swing through

that yeah I do that a lot I know that it's raining does that play so this was the Danish golf

champion that's okay this event was yeah it will always be the maiden Denmark for me that was a great tournament name I don't know why we got away from that one so yeah um on the live golf front this past week you guys heard of the live golf tour uh Jamie Corgan for the telegraph reported that live sources are quote almost resigned that John Rom will leave the league after this season

Jamie's always got good sources so that one definitely made my eyes perk up a little bit

of course is what we were expecting um there's a lot of contingencies allegedly on this potential term sheet investor loan whatever's coming that a lot of the top players need to stay for it to come come through ramen an interesting situation again but almost resigned to leaving the tour next year where you got where do you guys think John Rom's playing golf next year T.P. World Tour yeah which I've been I feel like I've been saying this for months everybody's act like he's been like

in shackles like he's not like he can't leave live and it's like he can he just has to leave money on the table but if you start to think it through it's like he's probably got half of let's call it 300 million a hundred let's say 150 let's say a hundred just to be conservative

I bet he got a hunt you got a third of what he was owed and then he won one another 80 90 million

in prize money uh like do call today man like get out of there you don't have to like you don't want to go throw this legal bullshit like I just have never bought into like oh rock I mean Rom's hands are tied it's like they're not tied that's that's to me that's always been bullshit the only only pushback I'll have on that has been that like I don't know if that doesn't feel like it's I don't know and this is not that well source but it's well we'd heard was that

even if live exists in like a ghost ship format that he's under contract and needs to needs to stay like there wasn't the wiggle room out of it or to your point I don't know how they would call it back I don't I don't my point is it's not a dentured servitude you know like at some point it's just like you know it is money and it's like you've made a lot of it already from doing this I would just say like at some point I'm like the conversation and

Rom's camp has to be like hey man let's cut her losses here you know like this has been a this is you know you've made a ton of money so you could argue you could argue it it's been a success for you or you could argue it's been very distracting the primary career either way best you know best case here is like why don't we just get out now you know and you know yeah like but then you yeah you add up like long-term I don't know all this equity promise from the PGA tour like

maybe maybe over time he it'll be it'll be fun to maybe do the math on like did he missing out on the PGA tour long-term money does like did he come out ahead by making this change

I I think getting it just getting the cash if we're talking straight cash homey like I feel like

you made a lot like let's call it 150 million just to be conservative yeah it's at least 180 190 I like your earlier calculation yeah right that feels that feels like it's right in that range that feels like it's a three years like all right good cut that for taxes of course so you know you're under a hundred million and if you are missing out on the initial grants of equity from the PGA tour and Brooks kept his deal as he doesn't earn it for five more years and you're not getting the

Brooks deal on it I think you're still coming out ahead but are you coming out ahead enough that far enough ahead to have looked back on this to have said this is a great move for me I don't think you are looking at it from a straight cash standpoint not a historical legacy and you know sentiment around John ROM and you know and P.S. score or whatever

I think he definitely is coming out ahead because all those grant I mean you'...

is the point like it not as much as you thought and that's that that's where this is like you go you got to reframe your expectations I know you thought you were going to get 300 million or

400 million you know the 300 plus the winnings but it's like hey man like this the reality is like

if the longer you stick around the the more money you're going to lose by not restarting the the suspension clock with the PGA tour right because as I understand it he could probably he pays his way to year you play the D.P. World Tour ball out and then by 2028 he's probably back on this championship series potentially right if if he plays well obviously if he's a dude

no I think it's that's still I would think the PGA tour is going to want them back for that but I think

it's going to come I think what what is ahead still is going to be some painstaking public more more winging from the Bryson and Ron crew of like I again they're not it's not going to be they were off of the returning member program I said no I think the path back is going to be

more penalizing than what Brooks got and I think there's going to be a stalemate a

flooding of heads there of like more power plays from Ron I don't I actually think I believe you they're on on Bryson my feel those rums been pretty docile in his commentary though especially the last six months I feel like he's he'll probably play ball he did not play ball very well at the D.P. World Tour he famously I know but I'm saying that I think things have I think he's kind of like now that they're kind of laying down the gauntlet with with saying we're not doing

these exemptions for live anymore like I feel like he might fall we'll see might fall in line

but I think he's going to be playing you asked like where do I think he's going to be play I think it's

G.P. World Tour I think that's right especially if lives doesn't have a Spanish event anymore

I think he's I mean he's said in there but I think it's still going to get still going to get

messy for these guys come back in 2028 because I think they're going to look like what are you going to go on without me and towards going back yo we tried multiple times to warn you this wasn't going to be clean if you tried to come back and it's going to it's going to be question for you so I like Patrick Reed his clock started what let's say October it's it's he's technically eligible as of in like a week or two because his August was the last event I think he played so my question

is it just is it just a hey you broke the rules you have a one year suspension and then and then he's he had to do kid can the torque um kid could they what am I trying to say could they continue to punish him or is it that a set thing like I'm asking that in terms of rods like you know what I mean like once once roms let's say live bed minister was his last live event so of year from now he just he ends up on the D.P. World Tour or he doesn't play any golf could he then wherever

his status is or whatever you know whatever exemptions he has like his suspension up with the P.J. Tour or can they say like no we're going to add another three years for conduct unbecoming as you're your vision uniforms were so ugly and the letter jacket thing was so stupid you know like

honestly I'm I'm good yeah they would not do that I think it's good I don't know what reads

it's good question I'm I'm thought about that of what reads quote punishment is that similar to Brooks is like paying fine I don't know if Brooks is like paying fine's thing I would have to imagine it's got to be relatively similar of for for read like not being able to participate in the equity program for for a bill you can come back and play play for the cash play for all the FedEx come money all that stuff but the equity is going to be for the people that stayed

is probably where I would have to imagine the draw line I can dig into that this week that's a good question and so I just I guess what I'm getting at is is this going to be different or every is the justice going to be different for every guy you know what I mean which could which I understand on the one hand and like I guess that is the P.J. Tour's right but it's all that might get them in a CPR hot water as well you know like if it's like hey well I did my time the

rule said that my time was one year suspension for breaking these you know appearance rules this where you can use our favorite term from our our deep dies will be more of this coming up to conduct them becoming can be a wide ranging phrase and it's pretty like for Bryce and it's like fucker you try to sue us man that's yeah you got his conduct on becoming you are going into a different category here of of of punishment or or consequence for your actions and I I don't think

wrong there's nothing wrong has done that comes to mind for me that would that would come any were close to that and I think the tour is going to be excited to have wrong back other than the uniforms the uniforms are very bad I just can't believe they've stuck with that pink and black yeah it's just awful awful I hope we get the con I hope I hope we get to see the actual contracts

If if and when live shuttered out because I would like I would love to see th...

Rob's contract you know yeah because we've heard so much about the scary contract Randy I'm like yeah I don't know yeah I mean you're you're right new and the the scary part is the deferred money and it or like the un-earned yeah I get it like you got to stick around to earn the money but at some point it's like you'll free yourself just saying just say no to that money and go you know make it make it again I know easy for me it's but it's a lot easier to say when you made 180

million of it already that's my point like you know you're fucking money I'm trying to square that

though with his comment earlier this year about I don't see many ways out like I guess that's where I'm like I would love to see what they like what language or clauses were in this contract but I would say I'd also be asking questions about how your agent is paid off of all this like did he get all of his money up front if not let's make sure that gets you know I don't know how you call that back and purerate that because that would that would certainly be a question to your point

you know I would have thought all the money he made on the PGA tour and around the world and into the hundreds of millions before this would have factor in a decision prior to this so

that's why I no longer follow that path of like oh you've already made all this money I'm

sure now you'll make like the better decision for your career because that has led me into saying things I've regretted about live golf over the last several years so but I I agree with what you're

saying there as well live finally told it's players the team championship has been canceled

that had not only happened this past week then they sent out an email trying to sell tickets for it they have finally there's probably an automated campaign someone someone had a schedule oh we fail to turn that off you know JP's working the ones and two tonight she knows what that's like they finally did remove that ability to sell a tickets but the event is still listed on the live website as if when we started this show I don't know if it's still up there

as of now but for some reason it is still listed which I can honestly say that was my favorite live event I genuinely enjoyed the team finale out of the format was great we've used that format in some of our other events of like two singles matches and an all-shot match and you played so like that's a great way to go ahead to head like I was into the team finale the most and of course that's the event that's gonna get canceled unfortunately but the athletic also reported the

D.P. World Tour has begun notifying live golfers that is highly unlikely that conditional releases will be granted beyond 2026 little surprise by this move here but they did grant conditional releases this year if you paid your fines and you made a certain minimum number of starts on the D.P. World Tour you could play in live events and the D.P. World Tour they just need a commitment for you that you're gonna play a certain minimum of events that has gone away now this is a

little bit of a throat stepping mechanism I think for D.P. World Tour we're no longer gonna do both these things I think some factors in here of the national opens here of live trying to poach national open some D.P. World Tour while the agreement was in place and just like this is not not been a friendly relationship we no longer have to play K to you and we're gonna make you decide here you can't do both these anymore so and again if you're listening to this and you're thinking

why do you get like if you want to play the dumbass release game if you sign for live golf you

are no longer an independent contractor you're an employee of live golf you don't get releases from any live golf events there's not a reciprocal thing anymore these guys are signing on to play these events and expect to be able to go play D.P. World Tour events whenever they want despite not following the release rules of that tour same with the PGA tour yet that the live tour does not offer that at all so that is it is not apples to oranges so we can put that one to rest

Joselle Biaester Michael Assassin Peter Uline and Luis Massavu I'm I'm putting these pronunciation I'm sure all signed up for D.P. World Tour Q school amidst all the uncertainty going on with live so I should Peter Uline a bad minister great mustache kind of a unit you know big dude towel over shoulder the whole round because you're so hot out there I was like ran you again this is you and I was like man like it's like going to see the giraffes or

something I don't know that I can forever like see them out in a while was crazy there are so many names over there that I'm like oh yeah yeah what's the guy in the Anthony can

gonna do if live goes what that's what I'm curious about yeah try to play I don't know

maybe not I was gonna say D.P. World but I don't know he did qualify for the live tour through one of the spots like I would suit the age of the tour right do that now he qualified through their their

promotions event like he was what the third place finished I think in that and so I would imagine

He would go to D.

said I said I think time might run out so there's a hard deadline I think of September 1st there's

four weeks to find 300 million dollars I guess so this is this was a couple weeks ago that is not a

lot of time considering people in contracts have to be signed you have to ask the PIP are you happy to

accept sending this business that is running today into bankruptcy to be able to have a go forward into a 2.0 version and give someone a six billion right off I don't really know what he's saying there he said there are some who have an opportunity to play D.P. World Tour and there are a few that might have the opportunity to go play P.J. Tour golf because there's such big names there are some that can't do either where am I at I'm 50 I have some opportunity to play Champions Tour if

lived as a 2.0 I have a choice to go and play that it's up in the air which I don't think Pultor

be eligible for Champions Tour for another year but with the with the suspension but anyways.

So are you going to miss when this is all resolved or how much do you enjoy the week two weekend Palace intrigue be up be honest it has been dramatic entertaining funny to follow it's been we it's been like the super zoomed out macro like the weirdest professional thing I've ever had to deal with of just like of course yeah just some of the most unhinged people involved somehow involved in my life just making up lies and just doing the most conducting themselves in a way that I can't

not imagine a human conducting themselves and just feel like the the only time I've ever just felt a need to like I need to keep providing as much good information as I possibly can about this because there are so many just blatant lies being told every week and at times my energy to do that has wavered greatly but it's at times it comes back and I'm ready to I don't like people playing on my phone

man it's time to go and I think it it's been the weirdest most unjustified attacks we've ever received

I think but it has undoubtedly been dramatic I just think it getting the golf world back together and everyone kind of rolling in a better direction give making golf just like more approachable more palatable I guess and just not this nastyness around it that there's been over the last several years we'll overall be a good thing but it's been made for a lot of content that's for sure I would say this Randy it's I mean for me I've gotten very exhausted with it but

there is a bit of the way it seems to be ending and it's not over yet but it is a little vindicating in the way that I look at the world I think is very pragmatic and since day one I've been like this doesn't make any fucking sense and what these people are saying doesn't make sense and I don't understand it like there's no business case here and this can't last that long and so to see it all kind of play out that way it's like all right god good I'm not crazy like I'm not the one missing anything

here you know like if it kind of just my spidey sense on a lot of this stuff it was just ringing from day one and you're like but I'm being called you know a shill in this and that like saw you got it 50 times worse than any of us but I'm I'm right there with you I'm like man it's just I got to be honest I don't see it so where it's like wrap up is a little vindicating I think 100% yeah it's like things like things make sense you know like I just

yeah it's nice to know what you're saying from the start you're like how is this effort like really good and I think the the accusation that I you know saw that you've heard a million times is it like oh like you got to get paid by the PGA towards like the tribalism is not something I've really bought into of like I want the PGA toward a win it's like it wasn't really about it's like no no I just think the PGA toward like it has its flaws but it makes sense like from a business standpoint this

does not make sense I don't see how this is going to in 10 years like you know this isn't

this venture backed like you know spend it burn it we're on a rocket ship I never saw the rocket

take off you know I was never like no that that has legs in 10 years if you just pour gasoline into the engine and so that's that's where I've always sat with it where it was like yeah I mean I'm I you know I've side with the PGA tour only because it makes sense that's kind of why it's always been frustrating and I think it all goes back to Randy as well like the time we you know spent in the podcast we do with Andy Gardner leading up to it he just made it unbelievably clear

that the only way this could work is if everyone did it and this was never going to be the case they

were got what 20% of the world's best players at their peak maybe ever and so like having very the the actual business model be explained to me that it only works if everyone goes having that business being stolen and just like a bastardized version of it from the jump with a bunch of

Buffoons running it was like the easy that's to your point deals the easiest ...

that this thing they couldn't last like it couldn't possibly last yeah last longer than I thought

it would honestly like wait definitely last longer like I just want to thought somebody would have

seen that money disappearing and and pulled the plug on this faster and it might technically still exist but live the way we know it is done for sure well it's just hardy you know being on site last week it's it's you know and being a part of a couple of startups that turn into cockroaches it's very hard to when the momentum goes away it's really hard to like take the plane back up you know like you just a lot of people don't really want to be associated with that it's like oh that

thing yeah yeah let's let's go somewhere else you know like you you don't see a lot of like startups you know pivot and successfully I guess is what I'm getting at and and it's a startup that quote doesn't work when you're literally just handing professional golfers money like that's that's

not like a good investment like it was not holding to what I mean it just never made any sense yeah

you don't get to just spend all of the money without becoming the Tom Haverford meme I'm like I don't get it I spent all I'm money and I'm it's over so anyways Randy won't take us to the LPGA

tour are you gonna miss live what it's going I think I weirdly like I have been exhausted by it

for years now I'm aligned with Neil there but there is a small far away I'm gonna acknowledge that like I'm gonna be sad when it's over I'm gonna be sad just seeing this see in the ridiculousness if it helps Randy I've got enough receipts to last us another decade of just slowly slowly roll yeah we can get back together and kind of play the tape Randy you know maybe maybe re-live it just it's like being a part of history a little bit like that's just really a unique place in time you know

we're gonna still give it a few months but I sent out a call for it of any live moment you can think of that that should go into an oral history podcast that we're gonna do a multi-part podcast as fall send it my way there's a tweet out there that that we're catching all the replies but anything you can think of the flash mob is gonna be in there there's been a lot of stuff that I've forgotten about the people of remind of and it's gonna be like 500 responses to that tweet people are

stoked for that one so anyways take me to Portland big yeah we'll go to Portland real quick uh the standard Portland classic guys this I don't know what's going on with Thai women and Portland but this is they are dominating this event it continued this year Gino Tiddacum won she she came from behind today to win by one shot birdie the 17th hole to clip both bear with me here on these pronunciations shanette want to sayin who shot a bogey free 63

today she finished a little earlier posted at 21 under Tiddacum bested her by a shot and then

Arpachaya Uble ended up getting the 21 under par as well to tie for second so

the Thai women go one two three this is the third year of the last four that a woman from Thailand

has won this event so there's something going on out there that agrees with them Gino I think

this this mirrors a lot of Scotty discussion from earlier in that like it's been a disappointing year for Gino because she didn't win a major and a couple majors she completely no showed but she wins for the third time this season it's her tenth career LPGA win she's 23 years like she's extremely extremely good at golf we're just I'm not sure much matters until she breaks through on wins a major but credit to her for for getting it done today not my favorite track on on tour

Solie we don't have to spend a ton of time here it's been a birdie fast most years it was a birdie fast this year there's just not a you know it doesn't really challenge them like I would like to see a golf course challenge the best women in the world can I say it's two like one great benefit I'd like the and then in contracts whatever of the LPGA when they go on the west coast is having a a finish that's not opposite the other there's a lot of other golf going

on and like having a west coast hour is great like when corn fairy is on late at night after the PGA tour wrap the week that was great I would have liked it to have to have slotted in there a little bit better this evening but you know contracts whatever if a tree falls in the way down just a couple and I married and just otherwise you're going up against a playoff event

In the US amateur like that that's like playing that to me like yeah no it's ...

if you don't care if they wait tunes in like that's yeah so Fia Schubert American solo fourth her best result of of the year that's that's one to call out and Rosanne top 10 she finished

tied for eight she tweaked her back I think that was maybe round two but she she stuck through it

shot a 68 today finish 15 under tightened for eight Neil any we we kind of did you dirty last week play you did Neil we'll give you a chance to publicly respond yeah I mean listen I put my name on pigs that you know sometimes they don't work out

I think you know Rosanne or first event ever was cool and I I might have gotten a little carried away

I like to lean into the bit sometimes you know upon watching the film it looked like I was serious I was I had remembered that I thought I was I wasn't but I was I've been carried away to Neil I don't I want you to know feel bad about that I am sticking with my Nelly the road to 11 we are we are well down that pad I still like that one put that shit in the time machine

they were the time capsule those two would have to win every major I know that's why it's tough

that I year uh it you know yeah it does Rose when I'm missed on but maybe maybe the could be the greatest greatest stunt of all time you could turn around if she goes at once 13 now I put this on tape so she does it now I've already pronounced it you know I don't know how we all forgot about that like they just happened you me all forgot about it that's what I can't I can't believe yeah okay you're stepping so good no I'm not I I said speed was gonna win eight majors all right

I'm not I'm not innocent in a lot of this yeah you know what nobody repuls that tape to rewatch it yeah just do it me dirty and I wasn't even on you didn't even give me a warning I mean just nasty nasty stuff you see but it'd be a gender which I that I was surprised and I was disgusting so yeah we I a few news nuggets coming out of women's golf this week two more Americans clinched their spots on the soulheim cup team coming up next month that would be Austin Kim

and Yolimi no so they have joined Nelly Angel Yin in Jennifer Cupcho as five of the seven automatic qualifiers via points that the remaining two will get solidified after this coming Sundays Canadian open and then they'll take two players via the Rolex rankings the two highest ranked Americans not qualified on points and then three captains pick so that makes more sense but because I just saw that in passing today and I thought that was captains picks they were doing

the most videos of phone calls to the players that qualified and I was like did they do all the captives I I did the captain's picks were coming yet then it was it passed they get that that makes more sense okay yeah the the the points clinching our good friend L. C. Lauren Carglin should be one of those two that that clinches points officially next week in Canada and then

amateur news Kira Romero one of McCormick metal for the second consecutive year that's awarded

this time each year to the best amateur golfer in the world what makes this one important for her it comes with points with the L. P. J. has a they call it the leap program where amateurs can get fast track right to L. P. J. to her membership and so by winning the McCormick metal she now has a crude enough points she will streamline right on to the L. P. J. to her she has a choice she can either join immediately play out this year and next year or just wait and start fresh

next year I don't know what the the downside would be to just starting immediately but she's I think

I read she's now the fourth woman behind Lydia co let me see if I can remember this off the top my head Lydia co Leonimoch wire rose thing and now Kira Romero are the only multiple time McCormick metal winners on the multiple time McCormick metal winner rose thing you know you can forgive my third year prediction yeah um as much as I don't like the part of the event doesn't

do much for me I mentioned the women are going to Canada this coming week that's always a phenomenal

event that's that's one of the better non majors on the women's side this one will be in Edmonton at and I know it's a royal golf course but outside Edmonton and I was getting your it's your Jesus going yeah as a royal is for yourself that's that's an exciting log for me so so that's really

Kind of a sleepy week congrats to Gino you know winds are great we would just...

majors next year come on yeah it's in that category J. P. who is running the board tonight and is our amateur golf extraordinaire tells me that Kira is turning pro immediately so you can just got that word watch for her as well yeah she she should be a part of the majority of L PGA events here through the end of the year uh as mentioned the L PGA tours off the Canada BMW Championship on the

PGA tour Neil you're going out on sight and she always swampy St. Louis best I will baseball

I will D.P. world tours off the next sew championship in Scotland live golf Indianapolis for what potentially could be the final live golf event I forgot news the week for me it turns out Bryson filmed breaking 50 at my new home club rocks in a guess club email went out on Wednesday I'm like taking a few days off and I like open my email I'm drinking a cup of coffee like oh why he filmed it on Monday after that minister with

Gary fucking player so I I think the video comes out like August the next week like August 24th

I was like what you know if you could have made a mad live I was like am I is this is this a fishing email like is there anywhere for me to click here uh it just really really funny stuff and this rocks is very really good you know I really like the golf course uh it would honestly I'm I'm going to tune in I'd like I'd like to see if there's a difficult golf course um that is my world well I didn't know they they kept it under wraps I don't think they wanted anybody they want any

audience I was up you know clubs closed on Monday uh but not for Bryson so I was like how about that man

that's amazing you want to tell us what's going on this shop Neil yeah it's bucking guys we I've

been wanting to run this uh this promo mystery boxes so we put like three polos for Bryson too into a bunch of mystery boxes they're flying Randy flying people love them yeah boxes I think they're my put like ten left so get there now store our money prices in life in life anymore hundred dollars for three polos yeah yeah no it's price to move you know and like so basically for 150 you get three NLU polos you pick the size we pick the shirts you save up to 40% it's very simple

but it was uh Randy do you approve this what the hell this did not come across my dad oh we had you know listen there's some stuff in it like as it's final sale baby like there might have gone not over skis on some inventory last year but there's some good and beef stuff in there you explain

and then here's what happens you get you get you know sizing's always hard so we get we got a clear

out bins in our warehouse and we'll have like you know four mediums and you know like I we you know but the rest of the size run is done you know so you're kind of just you have this

polo up and like one of the five sizes and stock so anyway that's gone really well I think

of the like 125 we did and we have like 10 or 20 left so get in there and snag that if you can but we've got like I'm wearing one of these new H&B hats we've got a bunch of new H&B like the fall line is is in stock and then just like keep an eye out more follow peril layers are on the way got some hats we're excited about and then we have some really good tour sauce being stuff coming out later I think probably early September but store dot no laying up dot com go poke around

get involved Randy and if you're nest member use your nest member discount you get 15% off all I don't have any of the bird collection stuff yet got to get my hands on a pizza I've got one of one of those hats on right now uh people birds are having a moment Sally we love them so all you started each day is off the deep end like digitally we I'm worried about these

I got binoculars down here I got a nice you know view of my backyard I got birds a prey just

circling up we got bald eagles in the neighborhood and then outside of birds I got a mama bear and three cubs wandering around I'm out here in the boonies guys not black bear yeah good good good stuff going on in the neighborhood we got some good content this week guys I dropped a trap draw was Steven Dubner as well we had a build out podcast Neil went and did a bunch of research on what it's like to build out a PJ tour event for the BMW championship coming up this week check that

out that was a really really really fun podcast as well Randy I haven't listened do you guys issue the maya colpi yet on the the protein discussion or is that still coming in weeks to come unless Neil and Trond it I'm not on Steven Dubner one so I will say Trond and I chop we will address it Randy just a Dubner like just like when we you and I interviewed him in 2020 he we did we ran through maya colpas and we did a little catch up on things were out on I was like hey Steven you got

Anything you're out on he had a list on his desk actually I got to listen thi...

on my desk and it was like things I love and and some of it it was sick I think this first answer

was he's looking through that he was right an article for somebody who's like the smell of an

extinguish candle and I was like he's like because it means the parties over I was like god that's good stuff so he fit right in on the chop session like he he merged onto the highway and was like our speed immediately so it was one of the best I don't know one of the best chops of the year I

really really like hanging out with the with Dubner yeah I'm excited to listen and Solie for you he

wants to do a little collab he's like he wants to do a free economics episode on like PGA tour live like kind of just kind of wants to he's sniffing around you know a true pro I'm like I like you want to pros sniffing around so we'll take that off line yeah and check out we dropped the documentary it's past week on our friend Jake Trigo it's called keep showing up that is on the no-lang up

YouTube channel about Jake's battle with cancer and finding community through golf and music and

the people that love him it's a great great great great look into a special person we've gotten to know and I know a lot of people close to him would greatly appreciate if you watch that one and it turned out great great work for Matt Golden and the team on that one so and if I can just kind of plug the nest which we highlight is is our membership community here you know sometimes people be like hey what what what did the nest

do's go to like it's projects like this Jake Trigo keep showing up documentary like that the you know it's funded by the nest yes the nest the the community played a large part in that so

I think it turned out beautifully and yeah I think people should go watch it it's speaking

of which we look forward to summer fest tomorrow here in Chicago if you're looking to become uh one gets some literature on the nest go to join dot no-lang up dot com a ton of great offerings that come with it this has been bucking on that mess it up no link up dot com slash join yeah yeah I don't I'm actually going to check if that redirects because that's if it doesn't I'm going to get on it no it doesn't no-lang up dot com for such join come on thank you Neil there's a lot of
