>> The right club, right behind the right club today. [MUSIC]
“>> That he has better than most, how about him?”
That is better than most, better than most. [MUSIC] >> Expect anything different. [MUSIC] >> Domason Hiren, Hudinavon,
in welcoming the no-laying up podcast. It's been Soli, and that is me, friend, and RTC. Thank you for joining us here on this evening. And that is also me, friend. >> I'm a panic, I'm shocked.
>> I can't do it, I can't do it. >> Not very, not very, not very. >> That is my friend, and my friend, and Cody McBride. Hello, Cody, hello, T.C. Guys, we had a day at the Solheim Cup.
>> Paul Ocasiganda, the perfect villain. >> We're going to give you a rundown and storylines here. Brought to you, add free off the jump by titleist, the number one ball in golf, and the number one ball at the Solheim Cup. We are just walking.
If you're watching this here, we're going to be battling daylight here. It was a bit of a grind to get that final match in the house. I had the timer out on two of us, Carlos Sagao's shots. Carlos Sagao's shots on 18 didn't get it on the approach shot, which Lenny Duncan was not very pleased with that,
because she audibly said, is somebody timing this, because of how long it took Carlos to play that shot. But hopefully people got a chance to watch this thrilling final match between Nellie Corda, Lauren Coglin, Julio Lopez Ramirez, and Carlos Sagao, which ended in a half,
a thrilling half, so TCC's in a good mood tonight. >> No, it was a great afternoon and golf. It was a great day of golf. First time in a Solheim Cup history, that we've been that both sessions tied on the first day,
“and I think that's only happened one time in Ryder Cup history.”
In 1956, that of course is courtesy of our guy Randy Robles of the Elias Sports Bureau who has been cooking up great statistics and facts all day long.
Always cooking him up. I wish people understood
how much of a thrill TCC gets out of this. So yeah, it was a very interesting afternoon, very interesting morning. It's been a great golf course, great atmosphere out here. I think the first match that made it to 18,
there was something going wrong. There was a live concert that started. >> Go to put loud and I don't know if you guys caught all that, or if you're watching on TV, but that was the first thing that blew up my Twitter timeline
was like people being upset about the music on 18. It's like a live event. I heard that one out there. >> Very original. I will say this, I think.
>> I don't want to stop the quick recap, but just so people know where we're at. We're behind the 16th green right now. So 18, quite a few, I wouldn't know. How long would you say?
How far would you say? >> At least 15 minutes. It's two holes. It's 17 and 18 are for those two all the way. >> That's true.
>> We'll call it 900 yards. >> Anyway, we barely heard the concert from here, but we're getting blasted by this song. Of course, we're doing this live. So if our audio is issues,
TC is changing the mic around right now, because he doesn't realize it was centered on me. >> No, I know my mic, my microphone was underneath it. So doing it live, so we'll read just that as well. And we'll get back to it.
But in the meantime, please let me know in the comments. Appreciate everybody tuning in and let's have a great show, Salt. >> We are going to start at the beginning. So we separated out this morning for the morning for Sims. On the U.S. side, sitting was Angel Yan,
you leave me no Austin Kim and Megan Kang. On the European side, Carlos Seganda, Julia Lopez, Ramirez, Astasia Nadaud, and my say in it right. >> You are.
>> I feel like the first team announcer went with something different today.
And it sounded really elegant when they did it and it sounded right. It sounds wrong when I say it. But, and Mimi Rhodes were the one sitting match one. >> No huge surprises there. >> As far as who was sitting?
>> No, that made sense.
“I think for both sides, match one was Charlie Hall and Lottie Wode”
against Nellie Corda, Allison Corpus. Cody, you went out with this match. You walked a fair amount of this one. What was the vibe like in that one? What kind of nowhere these stuff happened in that one?
In your estimation. >> Yeah, it was quick. I was worried. I don't know why I would have been worried. Lottie's first soul-hime cup.
>> She was nervous. >> She was very nervous. I think when she got off the shuttle cart
taking her to the first T, she turned and started walking in the wrong direction,
not to where the massive grandstand is. But, man, she settled it. And she came out early and just drained like a 25 footer for birdie.
On one, you know, she, her drive ended up left.
Charlie had an awesome shot up there and her to capitalize on that make that punt. And then immediately, you know, just start her day going. I was like, wow, this is going to be very, very impressive. But the combination of Nelly and Allison Corpus is a lot. And they were so dialed in this morning and they just didn't miss anything.
“And Charlie, I think she's, I don't know if it's because she wasn't hitting every single golf shot,”
but we stopped probably every two, three holes and she was getting treatment on her back. It was very noticeable that she was tight. She had her physio out there trying to keep her loosened up, but she was fighting something and they both started fighting the left ball. And then what they, they were writing kind of a hot putter and then as soon as as they lost it, you know, that it was kind of all downhill from there.
And they ended up getting absolutely smoked this morning. The team of Allison Corpus and Nelly Corpus now goes to five a no in their soul-hime cup. History, have to imagine they will be out in four subs tomorrow.
Do you think, do we have the first fall, do we have morning for some,
yeah, hopefully we don't for tomorrow. Do we have pairings for tomorrow? Yeah, no. They had an hour from that final putt. So I think maybe we were 15 minutes into this. No, that's perfect because I want to, I want to part of the car load was buying up some time. I'm sorry, she dropped it, but that Jake Rake was coming through. She just slowed down this thing to a halt.
I do want at least try to prognosticate or guess what we think might happen because I think U.S. is going to send out Corpus and Corpus again, probably first I would imagine. Do we think Europe sends Charlie and Laude out again in that first match and goes for that rematch?
“I don't think they do. I think, oh, do you send a sacrificial lamb in front of Allison and Nelly?”
No, I don't think you sacrifice anything. Try to go toe to toe with them. Yeah, do it. Let me ask you this real quick. How do you feel? How do you feel after today right now? It's, it's tight. It's tight. I feel, so I'm not as like, I want to U.S. to win, but I'm not nearly as like emotionally invested as I am on the Ryder Cupsides much more healthy relationship
I have over here. That was, today was probably the highlight of my golfing year of what I saw in person. It was just, it was electric. It was a great, great golf course, awesome energy. I've heard, I've had to miss the last two Solheim Cups. I've heard from your guys in person experiences. It's been a little rough. At some of these, Spain, not the best venue, major logistical issues on Friday. Of course, at Solheim in 2024 and at RTJ, shuttles all that, all that stuff.
Today felt awesome. Like genuinely other than the concert busting out early on 18, I struggle to come up with like an issue here other than the media centers far from the first. And that's on a rainy day. Like the weather was pretty moody. It was mostly good this morning and it got really moody kind of just post lunch there. But it was, the course is great. It's easy to get around the holes
back up to one another. There's critical mass out there. The fans are awesome. Awesome.
Uh, grandstands were full. I mean, the way it's built out, the way it's set up and routed and everything. It's, it was 10 of 10 today on that front. Uh, good parfives out here. I think it really good parfives. Part three is the euros just couldn't stop hitting it in the water. Part three is coming in for some bad golf today too. Yeah. It's a very good. But I think overall, it was like everybody mostly rose to the challenge that European rookies played great this afternoon.
Yeah, it was like, I was thrilled watching. I was man, this is this is living up to the hype. I've had this circle on the calendar for a few years now and day one met the moment. Which credit? I mean, Bernardis is sand cap golf course. Like the no expense spared building this golf course. And they needed it with what happened earlier this week. I mean, just a full entire day of rain on Tuesday. And it's not fast and firm. But like a low shot is has no chance of
“stopping. And there was a, um, you should just see a ball going offline and you know that ball's”
not going to stop until it finds something bad. And the punishment punishment often, like, these women are incredibly accurate. Fairways are not super wide in some spot. They're pretty white. But when you do miss, there's had there. There's fairway bunkers that are penal and the ball finds the bottom of it. It just is like a really good shot value golf course. And with some of the courses we're stuck with for some of these match play events. This one rises to the top of me.
And this is how the women's game scales into this. There's some canals in play. Uh, the headers are great. A great, you know, half shot penalty. No, not fescue. Yeah, this is had actual Heather. Yeah. And they made the right call moving, moving six or the real 18 back to 16 because I think, you know,
it's just it flowed today. The first hold is the third hole. Yes.
Man, this right, it it worked out perfectly. Whoever envisioned this other than you finish on
18 directly into the sun.
I wonder what the numbers say of how many solheim cup matches have made it to the table. No, it's it's the there's a reason why they do do it. And it does work out well. Uh, it's it was so funny because once the matches cleared through here, TC is helping me set up for the live show. And we're just getting hit with like the most beautiful gold now or ever. And for a golf course,
and we talked about different, uh, other solheim cup venues before. It was the first time that
we actually got to see all the home symbols and all the shaping that's done here on the standcap course. And it was crazy. I was like, oh, there's so much more out there. Sometimes a little too turned up.
“But that's what this course was built for. Yeah. So there's it's built to identify like decisive shots.”
I think. And um, we're in Den Bosch. I guess we should say that. We're in Cromfort right now. Okay. But then we'll stay in Den Bosch. But stay in Den Bosch. That's probably the nearest big city where what hour hour hour, hour and a half, depending upon traffic and train times south of Amsterdam. We're in kind of the south of Holland here, uh, former Burgundian, uh, uh, territory. Yeah, you're looking at all kinds of really fascinating place. Yeah. Uh, so you talk about the crowd.
There were some highlights from the crowd today. If I can shout a few out,
U.S.A.s terrifiedly. You know, my choir. That was really good. Uh, that one got me to, uh, to wonder. They did want to wonder wall for like, oh, uh, Charlie. Oh, uh, the fact that they've already distribution of this of all these chants and our get people into it and get people singing it. And I heard Nana Kurtzmedson like singing the song like walking to one of our shots. Like
“U.S.A.s terrified and you're she was like, mother get under it. I think it sticks in your head.”
Uh, but those were a few of the highlights. It was a great, great crowd. Very partisan of course. But like, pretty good representation on the U.S. side and like just some good crowd pops, especially. And if you're coming this weekend, pulse 12 and 14 had great grandstands and the people can't there for a while. And we're so excited when the matches came through and we're just chanting and screaming.
It was just a very infectious energy. And, uh, it seemed the first T was great this morning too.
I know there's been some lacking. Oh, it was popping. Yeah. Half an hour, 45 minutes beforehand. Uh, I mean, people people came out in mass. Yeah. Uh, I went out with the second match. Allison Lee and Lauren Coglin with Nana Kurtzmedson and Celine Budie. I will give Kurtzmedson and Budie a lot of credit for this match reaching the 16th hole because Allison and Lauren played awesome. I don't think that I think that it shipped once in the first 12 or 13 holes.
“Didn't get a lot out of it from very standpoint, but they were constantly ahead of the Europeans.”
And they made a bunch of saves a bunch of decent puts and a bunch of decent ships to stay in some holes, make some cars and keep it going. Uh, Celine Budie, they played bad. They was bad. It was bad. It was bad. It was bad. Uh, you know what else was bad? That TIO. So there was an incident in the morning. I'm told there's an incident in the afternoon as well. So right behind us on this 16th hole, there is a pedestrian walking bridge to the right of the fairway. And it's a normal bridge.
They put some kind of guardrails up on it because they're they're crossing over a lot of people are crossing over that. Celine Budie, I hits it into the penalty area, um, right of the fairway. But it's on the right side of the penalty area, but in the grass. So blocked out. I go on the wrong side. I didn't see exactly where the ball has. May have had it have her feet in the water. It gets a real in the images up on the screen here as well. It's a ruling, um, that this bridge,
they're just not a tall bridge. It like comes maybe chest hot. And not even just a high waist high waist high to people walking on it. Uh, was deemed to be in her line. And she gets TIO relief from inside the penalty area. And now the rule is you do have to drop it inside the penalty area. But her nearest point of relief in the penalty area was on the left side of the of the canal. Yes, to drop it, drop it and eventually place it on a perfect lie. Uh, they were too
down at that time. It was a bald, don't lie situation. They lost the whole, uh, and did it up. Just a short sequence. But it was, it was just like the, it took a long time to get the ruling. Angel Stanford was very, very much not happy. L. C. And Nelly very much not happy about it. Kind of shaking their heads. Listen, it's not what we're about on the European side. So I will apologize formally. Uh, I, uh, brought me real mind tweeted earlier that the rules officials were, uh,
pleading the tournament directors to move the bridge overnight. Uh, which I was kind of like, really, I don't know if that's necessary. Then it happens again this afternoon. Angel, you didn't hit the T shot in four ball that rolls in, but stays on the left side of that. And she ends up, I missed this. I've, I've only been told she got TIO relief as well, not good, which added confusion here because what happened is she ends up, uh, you know, taking a drop, which was her TIO
Charlie Hall thought it was a penalty. Charlie Hall ends up conceding, uh, a, what she thought was a
Par to Angel, and it was actually a birdie is what I was told by a candy.
And now on the actual scorecard, um, you'll even know is credited with the birdie on 16, but I think if there was some confusion between Charlie and Lottie as to whether or not that she'd given the put, Lottie said, no, we shouldn't give it to them. And Charlie's like, well, I get actually already gave Angel the put. I don't know exactly what happened there, but not good, uh, not good all the way around. We need to do better tomorrow and the rules front timing these players. There was, uh,
I went out with the, the last group. We're going to match Marie was sorry, anything else from match two. No, match, I mean, yes, I do, I do have a fair amount of this one. Um, it, uh, Celine booty is struggling with the T-ball. I, I've gotten, you know, some of my sources out there
tell me she was struggling with her T-ball recently, uh, going left, hits it left off the very first
“hole. Um, and, or I think Kurt's Matt's, sorry, hit it left off the very first hole. No, I'm sorry,”
it was Celine booty. So, Celine's but by language was bad. It was bad. She did hit several really good third shots in close range to save a bunch of these powers, but I mean, Nana Kurt's Matt's an and Celine were as inaccurate as I've seen L PGA tour players be, uh, off the T today. Um, we got to the sixth hole. Kurt's Matt's in just, again, we're playing for some. This is one ball in play. She just straight up chunked it in the water on six. And it was like closer to the sign in the
middle of the pond than it was to clearing the pond. And it wasn't raining at that point. It was just a very, very bad shot, skipping ahead to the eighth hole, uh, Celine booty a skulls a bunker shot,
way over the green. Um, and it was just like, man, there were some really bad golf played in a
tight period. Allison and, uh, and Lauren were a fantastic team. They were awesome to watch. I think I was told by Allison's boyfriend. I think Beth Amide wrote this up.
“Allison's the first mom to play in the soulheim cup since like 2010. Really? I think, um,”
I did not fact check that myself, but on AT, there's a moment like, um, her boyfriend was holding their son and like, she kind of sends a message back to him like, you know, given directions of what to do with her. So like, she's, she's being a mom in the middle of a of a soulheim cup match, which, um, I have to have to salute that. That's pretty pretty darn cool that she's out here being as competitive she has. She's played awesome golf. She dominant in the
afternoon as well. Great eagle from Lauren on 10. Uh, just that was, that was kind of the turning point and felt like of, of, I think they were one up going into the back nine and then it was like, all right, and then that's a, that's kind of a, she walked that one into walked it in and like was smiling. No one has more fun playing in these events than Lauren does. She's just laughing it up. Like she's, I didn't even realize she's like walks up right next to me as I'm walking to AT&T.
I wasn't really with this match. She goes, oh, hello again. Like, yo, you are playing, you got a point on the line here. Focus. Uh, she just smiled at me after she made that eagle. She was like, I do it. Uh, she just absolutely thrives in this environment. And it's just so real to see what our relationship that started with her, um, kind of as a sponsor and a friend it was way back what she was on the Epson tour and just to watch her, absolutely balling out
“the soulheim cup is just an absolute treat. More to come on that frontly afternoon. Uh, I think”
another stat that plays in Curtis Virga Randy. He's, he's in his bag tonight, guys. Uh, the European
team had the advantage on the first nine holes, which makes sense. It's a much shorter nine holes,
at least the way they've set it up. Uh, they won 21 holes, lost 17 and tied 34. The American team had an advantage on the second nine, which is much beefier longer. They won 19, lost 13, tied 29. So pretty big split there. One of the, a nowhere that I was talking to early with three holes into this thing was like, your Epson got this front nine, you're just going to dominate the back nine. Like, I was four warned on that one. And I played out exactly, uh, it's, this person's
probably watching. So shout out to you for, for that little tip that was, that was absolutely spot on. Uh, I'm, I'm hungry. I'm tired. I'm thirsty, guys. Uh, my mouth is watering because normally when I'm doing these shows, I'm holding a vodka shelter or a vodka iced tea or a tequila shelter. We're in the Netherlands. All right, I do not have one in my hand. But no matter the occasion, high noon has something for you. If you are looking for your next pack, check out the

Find the high noon tequila, sell to Fiesta pack nearest you at high noon spirits dot com high noon suns up. You, it's funny that you meant you mentioned like Europe could not stop hitting the water because that was like the match I was with Europe
kept hitting it in the water. So lean, Allison hit the water on 15 and also lean had to do was like hit the green cover the water on 15 and she hits it right in the room. And I was surprised to see them go back out in the afternoon. Um, but yeah, it was not not great vise with them. Nanana did make a bomb on 12, which was like one of the most exciting holes with the crowd.
Then they just kept battling kept staying in it, but the US was just too much...
So, uh, first two points on the board to the US, but match three. We did not have anyone else
out with this one, but Esther Henslett. I watched a little bit of this at the end and Leona McGuire won two up over Andrea Lee and Lyndy Duncan, that one made it all the way to 18. One of the first hole Esther and Leona and they did not give that up. They were either one or two up the entire day. I do. I do. We draw back and watch this and I really want to focus in. I don't know how many people's audit, but the 14th hole still just baffles me. So, they were, they were two
down, uh, going into 14, uh, excuse me, going into 13 and Andrea made a bomb. Get it back to one down. Yeah. Long par four, 16th. Excuse me, the 14th. It goes up there. It's like a kind of a spiny week drive to the right underneath the tree, Lyndy does. Andrea's underneath this tree and Lyndy's like, do not take an unplayable. It's a, it's a baby pine. Don't take an unplayable. Hit it back over to 13 fairway. Just hit it over to 13 fairway and we'll play in from that angle.
There is a, a ditch water on the other side of that similar to what happened with Carlot on very much. Yeah. And Andrea goes, okay. And last thing, Lyndy said, let me make sure it gets to the fairway. Okay. So now Andrea's juice up. He has it in the water. Meanwhile, on the other side,
the other team is like basically playing it as a par five now because they know, oh, they're over there.
They're already out of bowling in the hazard. They finally make it up there. They have a putt for double bogey. Okay. Should have been out of it. Leona lines up, you know, Leona basically they have to putt from like 15 feet. They let Leona, like, run it in and make the putt and steal all the momentum back. And I'm like sitting there and there's a lot going on because there's a ruling. The rain started picking up again and I'm like, man, what a decisive moment where they were thinking
so much about like their individual partnership and not about the match. And they just let Leona suck all that energy back up and go sprinting to the next hole. That's through hit a really
“good bunker shot. Very good. Yeah. Yeah. That one was like, you know, I think the U.S. was looking”
to kind of shut up the haters and losers saying that the, the Lindy pick was was maybe a
lifetime accomplishment award. But yeah, big, big points for for a Europe there. And then the last match rose in Jennifer Cubsho against Maya Stark and Lind Grant. And that was, I followed this the entire front nine. And then I kind of wanted to just see what was going on in some of the matches. They were, they were four up through seven. They should have probably been five up through eight. It kind of lost a little bit of momentum there on on 10 rows and Cubsho birdie or sorry, Eagle 10,
birdie 11 and then got it back to, you know, kind of got it back to two up and then Maya and Lynn took back over from there. So I was impressed with Maya and Lynn all day. They were really, they had a certain lightness about them. They had a really, they were not super accurate
“off the tee, but the wedge play was awesome. Pudders look good. You know, I think Lynn's been”
catching some flack in these circles. And with her, like, but not for this event. I know. She's a dog and this event. You gave her the flag. So I was surprised to see them sitting this afternoon. However, I think that's, that's, you know, them kind of, you know, learning from thinking a court is in, it's like her plan. She was gasped by the time they got to Sunday singles on that front. So yeah, I'll be, we'll talk a little bit about what, what we think might, might happen here
for tomorrow. So, so two, two, two, two morning. After the morning, only other note I had for this from this morning. I know talking to a bunch of people out there. I had about three different people just tell me, like Megan Kang's puddings problem. It's a problem. And it's been a problem on, you know, in actual events, but even in practice this week. Like, it's a problem which I thought was going to be potentially some foreshadowing for this afternoon. But that was a
definite vibe. A lot of people worried about Angel, you know, this Angel situation is those have been following. She's been injured for a significant portion of the season came back just right. Before the soulheim cup, but, but has not played much golf or played good golf at all, she lost a bunch of weight and was potentially going to be replaced by Lily of Vue. She has elected
“to play. Lily of Vue here with the team, Vue home for a friend of wedding, I think. Yes,”
yes, she's now left as Angel made it clear that she was going to play. I did insert myself into
The story a little bit today.
on the eighth hole. And in the in the for some match, the Europeans conceded to Allison and Lauren
“when they had like an eight foot birdie putt for three because they had already played foreshad,”
they were lying for and putting five. And the the score announced the score as four, uh, USA four, uh, Europe five. And I was like, oh, that's weird. So I just like walked up to the last of them. I was like, how do you determine what the what the score is? Uh, you know, if, if, if, if, if it's conceded, he was like, oh, you were assuming that they made that put. I just kind of looked at it. I was like, well, okay, but that was for three.
And, uh, and like, K. Cockrell had a major way over there by then, by then as well, because she had
the same question. He just looks at me. It was three. And so I got, I got the official score change
for Elster. Might have been an error. Uh, you know, I don't want to count nice. Yeah, I was, uh, I was, I was, you know, I got to get myself inserted in some way. But, um, that's about it for the
“morning. Um, so the pairings for this afternoon, uh, we have, uh, still kind of expected. I think”
but on the U.S. side, we had Lindy Duncan sitting, Andrea Lee sitting, Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang. On the European side, a little bit of a surprise. Lind Grant and Maya Stark, uh, after their morning win, they sat, Esther Henslett and Leona McGuire. After their morning win, they sat as well. But match one out again, Charlie Hall and Laude Wode versus Angel Yen and Yelimi No. Uh, I was, I went almost every, every shot with that one. We'll get into that match two
was Celine Budier and Nana Kurtz-Madson who went back out after a rough morning. Uh, they were up against Megan Kang and Allison Lee. Match three was Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud against Allison Corpus and Austin Kim. And then the final match was Carlos Seganda Julia Lopez Ramirez and Nellie Corda and Lauren Coglin. Guys, that opening match was, that was Pete golf. I think between the four ball, you know, not counting multiple birdies. Like, if you just did best score among the
group among the four players in that group, they were 15 under par in 18 holes. It hit from the jump, Laude birdied two, three, four and five and maybe six. I know Charlie jumps in and made a birdy on six. It looked like they were going to dominate that match. I at one point walked away from it, thinking they're about to go four up and this is over. Like, I don't, I do not see a path back for you. Let me know in Angel Yin. There were some struggles going on in that group. We get to
the 12th hole with the Europe already, already three up. Laude hits the flag stick from the right from the right side with their approach on it stops four feet from the hole. And at that moment, I was like, all right, that's to go four up with five to play. Like, I need to find another match. You'll leave me no rolls in a 15 footer for birdy and Laude misses that short putt. So what I thought was going to be four up, then went to two up. U.S. bounces back and wins 13 with a par.
They go to four, they have 14, have 15, have 16. You'll leave me know hits an incredible
fairway bunker shot out of the left fairway bunker on a down slope. I'm sitting there with Andrew Lee talking about it. And I guess soon as she made impact with it, Andrew was like, oh, I don't think we thought that she could get it out over the left. Much less get it to the green. Hits it six feet short of the hole. Makes the birdy pipe. She went birdy on 15, birdy on 16, birdy on 17, all the way back to tide. She had a look on 18, maybe 20, 25 footer on 18 to win the match outright.
It barely missed. Angelian had some highlights. She birded the second hole, birded the seventh, birdy the eighth. Everything else was about as disastrous as it could have gotten. It was, if I'm the U.S. I am thinking about how I got Angel, everybody's got to play at least
“one. I think it makes total sense to get her out in four ball. Yes. Friday instead of Saturday.”
Yeah. Why not what you've got? She played. She went out in the opening match. It worked out two perfection for the U.S. that she played terrible. She got, she've contributed at some really great moments when they needed to on the front nine. And you'll even know just when it's a god mode on the back nine. And they got a half out of it against Europe's best team. Like U.S. has to be over the moon. I think there's next to zero chance that she is playing tomorrow.
I think with the next time we see Angel will be, um, will be in singles. I think that's the right call because it, um, it was, it was, it was, it was not good. It was really not good. It was all over the place. The whole U.S. team was hanging out. You know, falling the final matches. I got where she came back to the range and was, was bang it beaten balls. But, um, this situation that a lot of
People were concerned with heading into this soulheim cup has, uh, has defini...
Not good. Uh, just, you know, bears. It'll be interesting to see where they put her out on Sunday.
“As well. From a sequencing perspective. And I say all that to like, I, I love Angel. I, I,”
she's a shot of life. Like she was genuinely funny out there. She was doing, putting forth Max effort. She was not moping. She was doing the opposite of moping. She birdied like the seventh hole and I did like a little like jump onto two feet to get the ball out of the hole. Like she's just a, she's a, she's a, she's a riot. She's very funny. She had a very bad six iron on a 12 and had a pretty good meltdown. Just like blaming the six iron. Like every single six iron she hit was awful.
She got to 14. She's in the middle of fairway and like they, you'll need me needed her at this exact moment in the middle of the fairway. It's over a shot and backs off and just like put your club down. Just goes like, it did like, pump herself up. She's crazy. It gets back into it, hits it on the green. Uh, after that Charlie Hall like goes up to her. Like Charlie was, like, I didn't actually hear it, but I said something along the lines and like, like, did I put you off? Like, did you back
off because of me and angels like, oh, no, no, no, you didn't do anything. It's like, okay, sorry,
because that was weird. I was just bringing my hype guy. Like you would never see any other player do
that. There was just, there was a ton of those throughout the course of the day from her, but, um, match two. I will say this by the end of her match. She finished. They, they went to her. They put the camera on her. She's in tears. Very emotional about how she finished. From the time that I watched that in the media center to the probably 10 minutes later, she was out on the driving range. It's very close to us right now. Back to laughing and giggling again. Yeah. Like, literally it was like,
wow, that took it all in. Got the emotions out and was right back to out grinding and like laughing and joking and saw me from across the tea boxes. Hey, Cody. So we'll shout out, I mean, she got half point and like, she can do something in singles. She can either get a great match up.
“I threw out, yeah, pull her head wall. I was throwing out the idea. Who was out here today?”
She's just just a cat. Yeah, I know. Uh, I saw out the idea. Why not send? Like, Europe is going to send either a lot of your Charlie out first. Send her out first. Send her out. Like, put her either make her be a sacrificial lamb or get, if she can somehow get that. Yeah, have a ride that, you know, pull the boo weekly down the fairway and singles. But yeah, I think she is probably probably said, I just, I, I have gained a completely new
founder spec for you. Leave me no. Just incredible incredible iron play. A lot of players out here
hit draws. She was hitting the highest and best fades of any one. I've, anyone I've seen at this level, like, just really, really, really proper shots. She hit the stick on 15. I mean, they're backs are against the wall. She angel has completely lost at this point. Hit the stick on the par three, 15th made that birdie was in position to make that birdie on six. Stick was hitting beat up. It was a lot of, yeah, there was a lot of, a lot of shots off the stick. And then made that
bird that awesome birdie on 17. It was just, it was, it was clinical golf. She was five or six
“under, I think, on that back nine. And doing all, and Ladi and Charlie were awesome. Ladi”
carried the load for the majority of the day and every time it seemed like Charlie was needed. She came up and made like a 25 foot put, made the crowd erupt. It was, it was theater. I almost, I'm, I don't regret bailing on that match when I did. It was very unlikely that it would flip back the way that it did. But that was an absolute highlight of following that one today. Yeah, just like massive massive tie on the board and what looked like was going to be blue all
freaking day. Second match, I didn't get a great feel for this one. This one felt,
Cody, we watched a lot of this one in the media center. It was raining pretty hard for a while there. This was Megan Kang and Allison Lee against Celine Boodya and Nana Kirktsmanson. And just Celine just felt like, I don't know if somebody yelled something in her backswing on one hole, but she was put off by that. I was just shocked to see them go back out this afternoon. That was the one big surprise. You know, of course, they brought the rookies out and then paired
paired up Lopez Ramirez with Carlota. But yeah, Celine and Nana, I was shocked to see them come out Megan and Megan and Allison played very good golf and beat them handily. And that's where, you know, two of the players we were most concerned with on the U.S. side were Megan Kang's form. And of course, Angel again with the injury. And Megan, Megan answered the bell. She absolutely answered the bell. Rolled, you know, had struggled with the putter up in the early
part of the day. But when she rolled in that birdie, the birdie putt she rolled in 11 was a complete lip of her day. She birdie 11, steps up birdie 12 as well and birdie 14. And then Allison responded
Birdie 15 as well to wait.
Allison Eagle 10. Like Allison had a few birdies in there as well. It was, it was good golf.
It was, I don't think they were, I don't think they were getting beat this afternoon. Now, I think, Megan, you know, do you, do you think we see Megan and for some tomorrow morning? We may have. Yeah, she sat this morning. I would, I would say probably not still. I, I think we're probably seeing the same for somes on the U.S. side tomorrow morning. We're going to find out here shortly and as, if you're listening to this on replay, you'd probably already know the answer to that.
But she was the one person I think that played this afternoon that didn't play this morning. I guess, and she was a month and everybody else is evening. We do with, with cowboy hat on.
“I have the pairings. You have to do it. Okay. You want me to wait?”
Let's get through the next two and then we're going to wait. Yeah. I didn't get to see a lot of
Allison corpus and Austin Kim against Mimi Rhodes and Natasha and the Dowd. Did see Austin Kim give a little P read. Have a little P read moment with a drain of plot on 15. Austin Kim's got swag. She had those, those crew socks on. She had a couple pretty filthy wedger pitch shots that I saw. I'd like would out. I'd like what Austin Kim was putting down. I know you're a fan of team Europe. I find this U.S. team to be very likable. They are. They're a ton of the personalities are just
very just genuine people. A lot of smiles out there. A lot of great energy. You know, even Angel who had the worst golf dates, she could probably imagine was still smiling
“and having a great time. I'm just very impressed with the lot of the energy around the U.S. team.”
I was impressed by no Lexi and there you know. I was impressed by the rookies on the European
side. The the Dodd made three birdies on the front nine. Mimi Rhodes has swag as well. She's she's got a presence to her. She comes out birdies ten. They were they were tied at the turn and then they go up you know one up through ten two up through twelve three up through fourteen and then got it done from there. So it's a big spot for two rookies step up and win and four balls. Because court position has been just an excellent excellent. So I'm a couple there.
The it was cool that those two in Natasia and and Mimi shared like a real and their catty shared like just a very real genuine hug afterward with a very real sense of accomplishment and excitement of like yeah we're not playing the morning. We were putting everything into this match and I try to put a point up on the board and they did it and you could just not you know when like Nelly and Allison went a match there's not like genuine excitement or surprise and when
they did it it would just look like they were having the time of their lives. And they were you know
“like it's not like they were shoeing picks. I mean I think Nostasi was pretty far off the board”
as far as a wild card pick but certainly they saw something in the statistics and something and then in the attitudes there and yeah Mimi gained a faint of a fan in me today and then the main event I Nelly and Lauren against Carlota and truly a Lopez Ramirez. Yeah I caught up with this with the end it definitely feels like the US let one get away a little bit that granted they were two down through 10 they won the 11th hole and won the 12th hole to tie it up won the 13th
take a one-up lead they did lose the 16th when Carlota drained a drain and eagle put Nelly hit one in the water from 167 yards the US still got a birdie. Lauren was able to make a birdie there so Carlota's massive put on 16 it was truly like Lauren was like all right you're Nelly you're going to take the front nine I'm going to take it back nine like Nelly play well kind of getting off the bus there and then Lauren just absolutely turned it on
there on the back nine yeah she birdie 11 she birdie 12 as well also was one that as I mentioned the birdie 16 and we get to 18 you know Carlota takes before home I before we get to 18 I do want to give Carlota some props in that she A she had three birdies in the front nine she had an unbelievable shot in the 16 like that it was a a pin that was tucked right over this this front little ball ridge with water in front and from whatever she was out 200 out if you missed that at all or
catch it thin at all it's going in that back bunker and you're you know you're probably making five and she made of it was probably 15 16 foot putt for eagle there so that was to that was to tie it up
Then yeah and then just you know going to 18 like you're thinking all right l...
ultimate villain she's playing I mean she she she she she played slow like it took him 20 25 minutes to play 17 even but you're thinking all right surely she can't she can't get this oven down she can't make this pot and she does the t-shirt was so bad it took forever to hit the t-shirt it's I time that one a minute two seconds hit like a chunk pop up what three would but found
“the fairway linking the those two holes was it was a great break I don't know what her I think she”
had a pretty clear line at the at the hole from what I could tell from the the wrong fairway and blows it way way right actually played the third shot relatively quickly but the second shot really cool I was watching on TV really cool drone shot because they couldn't get a camera so they just tried to withdraw to the awesome perfect time before but I think it honestly was between two and three minutes hit the second shot just kept backing off just just against the
spirit of the game stuff can't have it don't I don't know how she keeps getting away with it I really don't either it's kind of a disgrace the minute 27 seconds to hit her final put
which she poured in the center and did the full polter and it was always gonna end that way
it just always was Europe makes that put every time to end every day of team play that we'll ever watch I thought Lopez Ramirez she she showed up she was like the moment was not too big for her couple of birdies oh yes overall today yeah you're talking about she was struggling coming in
“it's hell yeah it was a it was a worthy risk yeah I think she had to take that risk they needed to”
make a for she didn't even made that chip I know yeah that was good it's been new it too man they're they're they're fun partnership yeah like they're all together for a long time now and I think they're going out two rounds tomorrow sure you know it will be a long time of course it's gonna be a long you know yeah do you think not here for a good time when I saw the pairings I was like oh at least
at least she's in the last one I'm like wait a second note this completely backfire there
literally right now I'm running out of daylight here for this live show because uh that was the last pairing out in 2018 of course I felt so bad uh watching Nelly realized what was happening in front of her starting right here on the 16th green and then like just just grasping and grasping and grasping and like Elsie yeah that put was short I saw a bunch of people the internet's mad and they'll see they said she's choked on the put it was it was Josh he just left it short weren't
day one it was just a long cup here I think Elsie's played pretty damn good so far I think she's
“like 31 yeah like today it's been unreal but uh I think you know you need to get that there as well”
first I got a you know she got two looks at at that put that she had a lot more than two looks
my Nelly back to Nelly is it how much she was freaking out just grinding do you know what Nelly is just like us she's a whooping bat I thought you were gonna say I thought you're gonna say ask what her strain was I was gonna look at what my strain uh was for today I think her strain was probably pretty high after she dumped it in the water on 16 I'm gonna six months long for the water today I'm exhausted I had a bad recovery at 27,000 steps today I'm gonna push back on on my strain
not enough protein then I have not had enough protein here that has been a problem the Nelly we we got to find some dinner night at some point the Nelly apocache has brought you by whoop the wearable design for lasting progress whoop combines 24/7 health insights with personalized coaching to help you improve how you sleep train and feel starting day one wearing your whoop daily improves your health it gives you key metrics like your sleep recovery strain

You're gonna show them up on the screen saturday AM four sums here match numb...
local my start Lynn Grant Alison Korpus oh nearly quarter oh about that one let's do it match two 752 AM Leona and Esther right against Jen Cubsho and Rose match number three 804 Mimi Rhodes and Natasha and really an Austin Kim so he got some new ones out here uh different at least from today and then match four Charlie Hall and Laude woe against Allison Lee and L C L C's gonna go five
“that's that's what this is telling me right here that is uh I mean that's that last one there there's”
just good stuff all the way through but one and four yes so it looks like so Austin Kim is in for Lindy Duncan is the only change from this morning's uh four sums on the U.S. I'm assuming the entire point of having Lindy Duncan on the team was yes it's putting in four sums yeah but I yeah I think they were like we're gonna play U1s we're gonna play Angel 1s unless something goes different on Friday and I and yeah maybe she maybe she sits for the afternoon as well did not put you leave
me no in so the clue there was no plan to play her in four sums because I don't know how much better she could have played uh today on the European side can you flash that back up please Cody um European side we have Esther and Leona that is the same pairing it's a good pair you know they're in
a different spot they're up to second they complimenting I and Lynn is the same pairing they went
from fourth up to first Charlie and Laude went from first to last out uh and then the other one's Mimi and Natasha they are in for Nana Kurtz-Madson and Celine Boody A which that one makes a lot of
“I don't know if we see Celine and Nana or at least Nana until Sunday yeah uh and I think”
you you were downgrading them leading into today I think Lynn and Maya have been upgraded to the alphas on this European team I don't know like downgrad I picked the European team to win no but those two years and oh like it's gonna be it's gonna be sad I said they have to do it if we get a win I didn't expect them to even though I picked and they also sat this afternoon you can't be the alphas if you sat the afternoon if they won I will say there is a putter
they carried a lot of weight for that team and it wasn't Lynn's Lynn hit the ball
amazing though yeah and yeah Maya didn't drive a great idea it was yeah it was really impressive
they scrambled well too they're just good they're just they'd like be in a round each other they're comfortable know they hate losing yeah they just it's Lynn's got a boyfriend on the bag yeah and like you know I was talking to hats like in between shots and he's just like duties like just everything everything that whoever they're playing against it just gets under both of their skin and they just fucking eat on it but they were smiling the whole day and laughing
and you juxtapose that with Rose is with the light to watch you so unbothered and you can't tell if she's too up or too down it doesn't really affect her and it's such a juxtaposition with
cupcho it's just bothered by everything and just always has a scallop or face or you know
just side eyes galore it's just it's kind of entertaining it's a it's a fun juxtaposition so what else we miss from today any other favorites maybe we're holding the course
“for Matt to play a purpose is I think ten's been fun to watch is because you're you're seeing”
second shots into a par five there's they need to come in from short in judge of run-up I and I I'm you know maybe that's my favorite because I saw a lot of amazing shots on that whole I saw several eagles on that whole today but it's not like a gimme short iron eagle par five like yeah it's an earned so a couple great plots and couple just really really really good golf shots and an all-shot a for some's eagle just hits a little different I it's just that one's been
a highlight great great it's great too it's the short short part four drivable par four that's been really fun I think I think the the the the first par five's been good too what was that one two or three or two yeah yeah two's two's good five was playing a little long my payments I think they're worried about pace of play kind of stacking up there with two par five's in a par three in the first you know five holes there and then another par three
on six but they did like this place is this place is good it's really good there's some weird like there's like like front of sixteen here or collect left of left of eight things actually
The real eighteen there's like it kind of looks like a shoebox it's like this...
shaping mr port right mr coro not be thrilled with that but overall like the concepts are
“really it I think it's it's it's doing the right stuff yep it's it's not it's not like the”
cream of the crop but it easily clears the bar and just I don't know man just not having traditional circular bunkers it does so much like it makes the course feel more natural it's not a natural course but it at least but it makes it feel a lot less contrived it feels like a mix of links and heat one yep put together like those two things um so I gotta tell you that these Dutch people are so tall they're so tall and they either have great wonderful hair or no hair at all they're all
dressed really well they're good golf fans even the ones that are relatively new to the game
and I saw a ton of sweets out there a lot of sweets made that made the trip down so proud of
my sweets yeah I was blown away by that environment like around on that 12th hole I mean there were some freaking roars man like it yeah it's way bigger crowds way better crowds than Spain I mean last year in DC this these people blow the DC crowds out of the water it's kind of feels this feels stronger than inverness yeah yes I mean this is like shaping up to be freaking
“incredible and I think the the ability to go from you know one hole to four holes over”
yes very very quickly and then you hear the roars really well and all of the hospitality and all of the grandstands are positioned really thoughtfully yeah it really enhances the experience so everybody that's been playing in this logistics for really seamless this morning coming from you know like players are staying down south there's there's probably three different like cities that people are staying in and everybody's converging here lots of people biked shuttles were
smooth it's been it's been exceptionally well run it's it's a it's a remarkably like kind of pure experience out there like if I contrast it with the writer cup of how corporate that all feels it is but even the branding is um it's all kind of the same color it's natural it blends in yeah why would I would I would I would I just straight up plywood under one of the grandstands that's such a genius idea enjoy nature it's not just you know plywood and then they put like a graphic
yeah like the letter font over it which I didn't even notice it was plywood because I saw that it was I had a graphic on but even like you know all the advertising signs are all the same color and it's just is and there's no there's almost no concessions out there there's a massive fan village of there's a huge fan it's a huge center of gravity it's just like a remarkably not it's just everything in golf as it gets bigger just shoves it feels more like a walker cup
experience yeah advertise in the best ways and yeah the vibes of just like kind of letting people walk where they where they want to inside the ropes and not get in the way it just is uh so this is it man
this is like you know I sometimes roll my eyes at your overreaction to the Ryder Cup never
wanted to go again and all the one to come here and I'm kind of like yeah this is this is kind of it I could watch the Ryder Cup on TV and see now a lot more golf yeah but like we were highly critical of the L.E.T. and specifically the Spanish Federation for there they ran that the Spain yeah this is IMG and like they've done rush yeah and the the Dutch government supported it it's it's been great in local community and like about the golf like there's no one's talking about
“a stupid controversy now everyone's talking about golf and then I think too like the weather's going”
to be better tomorrow it's supposed to be a no banger of a day tomorrow um that's great because I give the crowds out here a lot of credits like it was it was kind of scratchy right from the start and there was in and out moisture all day and then it started raining pretty hard around two o'clock three o'clock after lunch and it was just yeah and it got pretty cold so it's very wet on this it is probably stopped and started raining 46 times since we've since we've been here
is that fair to say a lot yeah uh not a lot of places where you can just be like watching a match and you turn around and looking you're like oh yeah that's like the United States ambassador to the the Netherlands yeah like just watching excited because Nellie's like you know he's a golfer so he's like got let's call Nellie we did we did literally meet the US ambassador to the Netherlands and it is very kind wife on the reigns of the school yeah podcast shout out to them yeah it's so good to
come here and see like Sussorin who met at uh great northern yeah yeah in Denmark met some old friends some Sweden it's just yeah it's like it's a really convivial atmosphere yes it
We're just gosh we're going to see a lot of a lot of great golf what's been t...
um kind of off the course of far on the trip for you to pan we did so on the early part of this trip
“we we spent some time in Amsterdam we played three rounds of golf there and filmed that that's”
going to be a video to come all that experience documented but yes on top of this whole time cup there is some absolute world class golf here in another one to pan and I don't mean the bread all of the bread's really good to attract upon it's the palm yeah to attract upon it was it was a
highlight some great food well hey it was great yeah you showed us around Amsterdam which was exceptional
we got on supplies we got wet there's probably 152 hundred thousand people that live there it's like going to Greenville South Carolina or Portland main or it's something of that size we're like you get some you get a taste of then more of of Holland outside of the big city yeah which is it has been really cool the Bosch Bull Bosch Bull yeah to success it's like chocolate that's good thing here I hope I remember one is one of those yeah it needs if one it's not open
“we're in trouble because we are I think we are in trouble it's a love it yeah food is not”
we're about to miss our show yeah we we will have to move to rap here uh because we do
didn't catch a show we always say it's Carlos going to do not blame us this is Carlos Sagan is
full for for ticket all the way to 18 and and making this way we will be visiting the food trucks here on site tomorrow it's I will be love it I'm not going to lunch today that was tough and then all right what's your prediction for where we stand after the after when we're sitting here tomorrow
“eight eight eight eight yeah we're going to get two five sessions no I think the U.S. wins the”
morning and Europe wins the year two and a half to one and a half in each okay yeah that will be fun why not yeah let's do it I was going to be a very close competition the teams are very even and you know all this the talk and we we've fed into it for sure about how bad everybody's playing you think result prior results mattered at all today out there you know maybe angel being like oh you know bad former everybody else out there it's birdies birdies and paris and poggies and they're just
playing you know the the whole that's in front of them it was awesome all right let's find some food thank you for tuning in here on the Friday will be live after Saturday's round as well live of course after some days round here from on site thank you to our friends at titleist high noon and whoop we'll have big Randy with us tomorrow yeah schedule and conflict today but big Randy will be joining us uh we're talking about it too like Randy's got I mean my cost is dinner with this
story it's eight it's eight hours behind it's all hot that's too much thank you very much for for tuning in, we'll see you back here tomorrow night. Cheers.
