Immigration enforcement and the actions of federal agents in Minnesota got much of the focus at yesterday's House Judiciary Committee hearing. NPR Semena Bustillo says Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Nome was pressed for answers

a day after she appeared before a Senate panel. The committee's ranking member,

the country?" "I can do all this to their families because I know that their lives will never be the

same." There was a large split between Republicans and Democrats over weather immigration enforcement tactics have gone too far. Meanwhile lawmakers are still trying to negotiate a deal to fund Nome's department. DHS is in the third week of a shutdown, meaning hundreds of thousands of federal workers are working without pay or furloughed. He managed to deal with NPR News, Washington.
