President Trump was voted back into the White House with the promise of no new wars, political consultants, Sarah Longwell, publisher of the website, The Bullwerke, spoke to NPR about how the current wars hitting Republican voters.

"For a lot of Trump voters, it feels like the betrayal of an essential promise,

and for other Trump voters, they sort of do say, "Well, look, look at what we did in Venezuela. That was quick. It was a smashing grab job, and then we were out." And so they're willing to tolerate it for a very short period of time, but not if they have to pay consequences themselves in the form of higher gas prices, or food prices, or if the war is prolonged, and it starts to look like it

is a quagmire war in the Middle East." "The France is there for protection." Speaking from aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle, President Emmanuel Macron,

said France is there to protect its own, its allies, and to ensure freedom of navigation, but we will not participate in the war that's underway, he said.

Macron called Iran's drone attack on Cyprus and attack on all of Europe.

Cyprus is a member of the European Union. The French president said the conflict's duration depends on US Israeli objectives. He warned that changes to Iranian leadership could not occur through bombings alone. Eleanor Beardsley and PR News, Paris. California Congresswoman Kevin Kylie says he is switching his political affiliation

from Republican to independent.

He represents the state's third congressional district spanning most of the California Nevada border,

and includes all or parts of 10 counties. After two terms, Kylie faces a tough re-election race after congressional boundaries in the democratic leaning state were redrawn in response to redistricting in GOP leaning states. Kylie has said he will still caucus with US House Republicans. US stocks trading higher this hour, the Dow Jones industrial average up 114 points at 47,855.

The National Association of Realtors says a housing market is still sluggish,

existing home sales take up 1.7% in February. The report says housing affordability is improving, at least relatively. The median sales price for home is just under $400,000. Pretty much flat from last year, but still more than the typical family can afford. Getting more houses for sale could keep prices down, but inventory is still tight.

More first time buyers are entering the market.

Possibly drawn in after the 30 year fixed mortgage fell below 6% last month. That was the lowest rates of been in 2.5 years. But mortgages have since gone back above 6%. As the war the Ron rattles markets, it makes borrowing more expensive. Stephen Misaha and PR News.

There's a new study at the fine social media use can, be linked to symptoms of mental health problems and substance use. In children in adolescence, more from NPR's re-dechaturgy. The study was a meta-analysis of more than 150 previously published studies, involving nearly 19,000 participants.

Researchers found that social media use among children and adolescents was consistently associated with higher levels of depression, self-harm, substance use and behavioral issues. It was also linked to poor academic performance and poor perception of oneself. The study also looked at impacts of video games on kids

and found them to be linked with aggression and other behavioral concerns. View games were also linked to modest increases in attention and executive functioning. The results are published in JAMA Pediatrics, re-dechaturgy and PR News.
