Officials in the United Arab Emirates say they've intercepted Iranian missiles and drones. The war has contributed to volatility in the oil markets. Officials with the group of seven industrialized nation spoke yesterday, they say their prepared to release crude oil reserves to bolster world oil supply, but they haven't done it yet.

considering a release of oil from its own reserves. From Colorado Public Radio, Isha'n Takor has more. During a tour of a natural gas plant in Colorado, Wright said the U.S. is considering "coordinated releases of oil from the strategic petroleum reserve."
The SPR sits on the Gulf Coast and currently holds more than 400 million barrels of oil.
The war in Iran is choking global oil supplies. Accordinated release from countries like the U.S. France, Canada, and more could help stabilize prices. Here's Wright. We do have our gasoline and our diesel and our jet fuel prices up.
That hurts American citizens, consumers. We are doing everything we can to alleviate that. The average gas price in the U.S. has already jumped about 50 cents in a week, according to AAA.

this year's midterm elections. A new study finds that social media use can be linked to symptoms of mental health problems and substance abuse in children and adolescents. NPR's retouchaturgy reports, the link between social media use and depression, was stronger for kids in their early teens.
The study was a meta-analysis of more than 150 previously published studies involving nearly 19,000 participants. Researchers found that social media use among children and adolescents was consistently associated with higher levels of depression, self-harm, substance use and behavioral issues.
It was also linked to poor academic performance and poorer perception of oneself. The study also looked at impacts of video games on kids and found them to be linked with aggression and other behavioral concerns. View games were also linked to modest increases in attention and executive functioning. The results are published in JAMA Pediatrics, Retouchaturgy and PR news.
The National Weather Service is warning the central and southern planes today of the strong chance of severe weather. That could include hail and a few tornadoes. This comes after last Friday's deadly tornado outbreak that killed eight people for them in Michigan.
