Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dan Roman.

Oil prices are climbing towards $110 a barrel.

This comes after reported Israeli strikes on a major natural gas field in Iran, and

PR's Julia Simon reports. South Paris is part of the largest natural gas fields in the world, shared by both Iran and Qatar. In a statement on ex-mejid al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar's foreign ministry, blamed Israel for the strikes.

He described it as a "dangerous and irresponsible step" and said, "targeting energy infrastructure constitutes a threat to global energy security." When asked by NPR and Israeli military spokesperson would not confirm the strike. Iran's government linked news agency issued a warning for residents to stay away from energy

assets in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Qatar Energy says its "liquified natural gas facility" has already been hit, Julia Simon and Hermes.

The GOP led Senate his once again blocked democratic efforts to limit President Trump's

war powers in Iran, and PR's Claudia Gricellis reports the Democrats are vowing to keep up the pressure. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is among the group of Democrats, demanding the public hearing. They want to see Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegg said, "Testify before Congress."

"Me and my colleagues will bring up these resolutions again and again and again as more and more Americans on both sides of the aisle see this war for what it is." Democrats argue the conflict has been too costly in terms of U.S. service members' lives and Americans' wallets with little explanation. However, Republicans say President Trump has authority as Commander-in-Chief to continue

the conflict for several more weeks, Claudia Desellis and B.R. News, the capital. Tulsi Gabbard, the director of National Intelligence told Senators Wednesday that Iran's regime

is degraded, but still remains intact as the U.S. is really war is now more than two

weeks old. She also brought Senators up to date on what the Trump administration says is the threat from Islamic fundamentalism. The United States continues to face a complex and evolving threat landscape with a geographically diverse set of Islamist terrorist actors seeking to propagate their ideology globally

and harm Americans, even as al-Qaeda and ISIS remain weaker today than they were at their respective peaks. The spread of Islamist ideology, in some cases led by individuals and organizations associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, poses a fundamental threat to freedom and the foundational principles that underpins Western civilization.

Gabbard's testimony came just one day after the unexpected resignation of Joe Kant who ran the National Counterterrorism Center over his objections to the war in Iran and you're listening to NPR news. Long time Labour rights activist Doris Hurtis says she was among the girls and women who were sexually abused decades ago by the then-long admired civil rights icon, Caesar

Chavez, who had led the United Farm Workers Union. Hurtis said she remained quiet for 60-plus years because she was concerned about revealing the information and how it could hurt the far movement. Thereuposed at Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and the Central Valley are holding a 24-hour strike.

NPR's Witu Charli reports the protest is in part over concerns about artificial intelligence. The providers on strike are citing violations of state and federal mental health laws by Kaiser Permanente. The company has paid millions of dollars to California and the federal government for failing to provide adequate and timely mental health care.

The striking workers are concerned that Kaiser's use of AI will take their jobs and further affect patient care. Indiana Marcucci Morris is a social worker at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. I fear for the future around AI being used more for behavioral health care because you know what we do as human work.

Kaiser told NPR in an email that the company does not use AI to make medical or any other care decisions. Read the strategy and pay our news. President Trump Wednesday attended the dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Space in Delaware where the bodies of six U.S. service members killed in a plane crash

will return to the U.S. it's the second time in a little more than two weeks.

Trump has attended such a ceremony. I'm Dan Ronan NPR News.
