in the Middle East as U.S. and Israeli air strikes against Tehran reads the three week mark.

Officials in Kuwait say Iranian drone struck one of its oil refineries today sparking a fire.

In Bahrain, Shrapnel from an intercepted projectile ignited a fire at a warehouse, and Saudi Arabia reports shooting down Iranian drones. U.S. Central Command is acknowledging

an American F-35 military jet was hit by enemy fire and was described as the first known

instance of Iran's anti-aircraft defenses damaging a manned U.S. plane since the war began. A U.S. official not authorized to speak publicly tells NPR the pilot was not seriously injured, the fighter jet landed safely. Turkey says it's been speaking with officials in the U.S. Israel and Iran to try to end the war. Turkey is among a dozen Muslim and Arab countries that met in Saudi Arabia yesterday

to discuss their concerns about the war escalating as NPR's Emily Fang reports. Turkey is so far stayed out of the regional conflict over Iran. Appearing alongside his

Qatari counterpart, Turkey's former minister Hakan Fidan said through an interpreter that

Turkey is mediating and is in contact with Israel and other countries.

We are just speaking to the Americans and Iranians as well. First of all, we try to understand

where they stand. Turkey says it's intercepted three Iranian missiles since the U.S. and Israel began striking Iran, Iran denies firing them at Turkey. But this week, NATO, of which Turkey is a member, deployed a third U.S.-made patriot-air and missile defense system to protect Turkey's insure-like airbase in the south of the country.

Emily Fang and Pernus Van Turkey. Mexico's president says her country is examining how to resume exports of fuel to Cuba as the island nation struggles with energy shortages. The U.S. effectively began blocking fuel

shipments to Cuba earlier this year. Primarily, oil tankers from Venezuela to pressure

the government in Havana. That's led to power blackouts on the island as Katie Silver reports from Mexico City. Andrea Sheinbaum says Mexico is sovereign to have a trade agreement with any country in the world and that it can provide humanitarian aid to Cubans who are quote "suffering so much." The long-time allies stop selling fuel to Havana and February. Earlier this week, the Caribbean

island's electricity grid collapsed, shipping data suggests it has only received two small vessels of oil imports this year. Meanwhile, a fuel tanker carrying Russian gas is reportedly on route to Cuba, expected to arrive on Monday. For MPR News, I'm Katie Silver in Mexico City. The highest temperature ever recorded in the U.S. for the month of March was hit yesterday in southwest Arizona, a community in the Yuma Desert near Martinez Lake hit 110 degrees.

waived its rules to allow next star to reach 80% of U.S. households more than doubling the kernel out figure. The Commission didn't even have a public debate or a vote. It's loan Democrat condemned the decision. FCC Chair Brendan Carr argues the move will ensure the viability of local stations.
