to make mail-in voting harder for some voters ahead of this year's midterm elections. 16 states plus DC and some U.S. territories count mail-in ballots that are received after election day, as long as they're postmarked on time. They're a public and national committee argues. This is in a legal practice because Congress set an election day.
They argued that means that all voting and receipt of ballots end that day. However, Mississippi officials argued voters submitting their ballot in the mail-by-election day complies with federal statute, even ballots that aren't received by officials until after election day. Members of the Court's conservative majority appeared to be skeptical of this argument though

The Trump administration says it's paying a French company a billion dollars to pull
out of U.S. offshore wind leases and instead invest in fossil fuel projects. Young people with cannabis use disorder are more likely to be diagnosed with psychiatric
disorders compared with those abusing other drugs according to a new study from Johns Hopkins University. Scott Masseyoni of member station WIPR has details. The study found young people with cannabis use disorder were 52% more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia and 30% more prone to major depression compared to those with other substance
used disorders. The results show the nuance of cannabis use on the developing brain considering adults with cannabis use disorder are significantly less likely to developmental illnesses. Johannes Troll is a scientist who worked on the study.
What that suggests is critical window potentially for negative consequences to accumulate.
