requiring changes to emergency treatment for people with mental illness in Paris, Bryan Man reports. Hospital emergency rooms around the U.S. are struggling to cope with patients with severe mental illness. In a statement, James says in investigation,
found people arriving at New York Presbyterians hospitals in New York City received inadequate care that "put vulnerable patients at risk." Her report alleges people with mental illness weren't properly screened. And in some cases, patients who appeared to post serious risks themselves or others were left unsupervised or received no care.
