Lebanon and Israel have held their first direct diplomatic talks and decades. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the Trump administration is happy to facilitate the

talks, though he's downplaying expectations for a quick breakthrough, and PR's Michelle Kellen has more. Secretary Rubio gathered the ambassadors from Lebanon and Israel to talk about how to end Woody calls 20 to 30 years of Hezbollah's influence in the region.

Israeli ambassador Michael Lighter says the fact that the talks took place at always a victory

because Hezbollah urged the Lebanese government not to take part. "We are both united in liberating Lebanon from an occupation power dominated by Iran called his Bala."

But he was making no promises that Israel will ease up on its military campaign against

Hezbollah. Lighter says the talks will resume in a few weeks. Michelle Kellen and PR news, the State Department. Two members of Congress want to Democrat the other a Republican are resigning from the U.S. House of Representatives.

"Super typhoons in Laku is hitting the Northern Mariana Islands with dangerous winds, powerful

enough to down trees, knockout electricity, and even destroy wood-frame buildings. It's also bringing significant flooding to Guam. Powerful typhoons and hurricanes are more likely to form because of climate change. Ocean temperatures are rising because of planet warming pollution from burning oil, gas, and coal, that warmer ocean water helps storms like St. Laku get larger and more dangerous.

New research suggests that military personnel exposed to repeated bomb blasts are much more likely to develop rain aneurysms and PR's John Hamilton has more on a study in the journal Radiology. The study used magnetic resonance imaging to scan the brains of more than 500 members

of special operations units, which are often near explosions. The scan showed that brain aneurysms were three times as common in individuals with high levels of blast exposure compared with those who had relatively low exposure. The abnormality was found in 9.5% of the high exposure group compared with just 2.7% in the low exposure group. Aneurysms are weak or bulging spots in an artery that are prone to rupture

and can cause deadly pleading in the brain. Researchers suspect that blast waves damage the walls of an artery by stretching the vessel beyond its limits. John Hamilton and PR News.
