President Trump is safe after shots were fired at the White House Correspondent's dinner in Washington, DC tonight. He and his cabinet were rushed out of the event when the shots were heard. NPR's deepest shiver arm was there, she says it was chaotic." "What sounded like several gunshots were fired at the hotel where the dinner was taken
place.
“Secret Service Agent said a shooter was in custody at 8.38 pm.”
Several cabinet members including HHS Secretary RSK Jr. and FBI Director Kashpatel were moved to hold rooms inside the hotel. The attendees of the event are leaving. Deepishivaram and PR News Washington."
Secret Service says everyone including the President, First Lady, and Cabinet are okay.
This is President Trump's first dinner as President and he was to have given a speech. Afterward Trump returned to the event, praising the Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick actions. He is scheduled to speak from the White House about this event soon. President Trump is cancelled sending a delegation to Pakistan for further peace talks about
Iran. And PR's Kat Lohn's door for reports from Beirut, that's after Iran's Foreign Minister left Pakistan earlier today, without meeting with U.S. officials."

Trump's Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqchi left Pakistan earlier today after Iranian officials made it clear they only planned to meet with Pakistani officials, not with the U.S. Iran has dismissed Trump's unilateral extension of the U.S. Iran ceasefire as "meaningless" saying the continued U.S. blockade on Iranian ports is in violation of that agreement.
The U.S. is intercepting ships coming to or from Iran as Iran is maintaining military control of the Strait of Hormuz, most ships in and around the Strait are not moving and neither side appears to be budging. Kat Lohn's door for MPR News Beirut. In Southeastern Georgia, two wildfires continued to threaten homes and lies as officials
warned that strong winds could spread the flames amid historic drought conditions. The Brantley County Highway 82 Fire has destroyed, at least 87 homes, Brantley County Manager Joey Cason says the fire is moving at a fast pace and they don't have much control over where it's going. "I've said this is a dynamic fire event that is wind-driven and you can rest assured if you're
out here today you can feel this wind it has stoked that fire and this is a major event." The fire has burned more than 14 square miles and officials say it started when a party balloon struck a power line, a second fire about 70 miles to the southwest has burned more than 46 square miles and destroyed at least 35 homes, as of today both were only
about 10 percent contained.

Members of the Screen Riders Union ratified a four-year deal with Hollywood Studios that ends a smooth process compared to the prolonged strike three years ago.
The agreement lasts for four years instead of the usual three and it gives workers gains and health care coverage and provides modest compensation increases, especially for comedy and variety writers.
