The UAE has long been dissatisfied with OPEC's production quotas and curbs on output.

OPEC, which stands for the organization of the petroleum exporting countries, will now have just 11 states as members after the UAE's exit. The group has lost members' dates before, including Qatar and Angola in past years. Oil exports from the Gulf have been disrupted by the US Israeli war on Iran and Iran's closure of the Strait of Hermuz.
The UAE now produces roughly 1.9 million barrels of oil a day, according to research from Kepler, about 40% less than before the war.

Texas lawmakers are holding a second day of hearings as they continue to look for answers about camp mystic.
Twenty people, including campers and counselors died at the camp last July. Kaylee Hout with Member Sation KUT has more. Investigators told Texas State lawmakers that camp mystic exhibited a complacent attitude towards flooding prior to last July's deadly storms.

The Trump administration is seeking to roll back protections for transgender people who are homeless. NPR's Jennifer Ludm reports a proposed rule would force some shelters to deny access. For a decade, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has offered services regardless of people's gender identity. But a proposed rule would strike those words along with sexual orientation from all HUD programs and replace them with sex defined as male or female. The move follows an executive order from President Trump on quote gender ideology extremism.
HUD says women's safety is at risk if they're in a shelter with biological males who identify as women. The agency's proposal threatens to withhold funding from providers who don't comply. Critics point out that LGBTQ people are at higher risk for homelessness and say the rule would leave more of them without housing. Jennifer Ludm and Pierre News, Washington.
