"Live from MPR News on Giles Snyder, just two days into the operation the U.

pausing efforts to guide ships from foreign countries through the state of Hormus."

MPR's Franco-Ordonias reports that President Trump says he's calling off the action

to see if an agreement with Iran can be reached. President Trump announced he was pausing the military escorts after declaring, quote, "Great progress has been made toward a complete and final agreement with representatives of Iran." He added that he was also acting on a request by the leaders of Pakistan, which is helping negotiate an agreement, as well as other countries.

Trump said on social media that the pause will only be for a short period of time to see whether or not an agreement can be finalized and signed, but he emphasized that the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports would continue. Earlier in the day, Secretary of State Marco Rubio described Project Freedom as a defensive operation, and that the U.S. would only respond if fired upon Franco, Ordonias, and

pianos, the White House.

And the fallout of the war, air travel, getting more expensive, MPR's Stephen Pahat-Passaha

has that story. In international flight, on average, cost about $150 more than a year ago. Some flights and destinations are up a lot more, like a ticket to London going up about 350 bucks. This is also causing some in the United States to change their travel plans.

Lee Collins was flying back to Atlanta after visiting family in D.C., and said he is not planning a summer vacation trip. "As of now, no, no, no, no, no, because, like I said, I have a very expensive business. It's going to be a staycation this year." Airfare hikes are due to the price of jet fuel, nearly doubling since the start of the year,

due to the war against Iran and its proxies.
