A trade court has dealt another blow to President Trump's tariff policy.

MPR Scott Horsley reports a court found Trump was wrong to impose a blanket 10% tariff

on most good U.S. imports." President Trump ordered these new tariffs to replace an earlier round of import taxes that were struck down in February by the U.S. Supreme Court. But the Court of International Trade says these new tariffs are also unlawful, Trump relied on a statute that authorizes tariffs only under certain conditions, and two out of three judges

concluded those conditions don't currently exist. It's not clear how wide reaching this decision will be for now, but it applies only to two importers who challenge the tariffs along with the state of Washington. The administration's already in the process of refunding tens of billions of dollars collected under the original tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court, and it continues to explore other

options to impose new tariffs.

Democrats and Iran exchanged fire again Thursday.

The U.S. military says it intercepted the Iranian tax on three Navy ships as a transit at the Strait of Formos, and then targeted Iranian military facilities that it said was responsible for attacking U.S. forces. Despite the exchange President Trump told reporters Thursday night that the ceasefire is holding earlier Thursday, Iran says it is examining the latest proposals for ending

the war. President Trump was asked about gas prices Thursday night while he was inspecting renovations being done on the reflecting pool outside the Lincoln Memorial. Trump claimed prices are down, but gas buddy analysts Patrick DeHonsa's Americans are feeling the pain.

Across the country, the average still on general cost now $15-$30 more than did just three months ago. Trump will serve the rest of his life in prison, the attack entered six people killed one of them, an 82-year-old woman. Allerado Pupacradio's Allison Sherry reports.

The now 46-year-old Egyptian national told police at the time of the attack that he wanted to quote send a message about his real. But in court for his sentencing, he told the judge if he had to do it over again, he wouldn't, and that he was sorry. He then said he believed in justice and he wished Colorado had the death penalty, so

he could be sentenced to it. Victims told the judge the anti-Semitic attack has left them with lingering trauma. Dr. Rahel Halpern was injured that day. He had been surrounded by words that created a space in which somebody can imagine, then throwing 18 hot molot of cocktails is the right way to deal with whatever concerns

he had. The man still faces federal hate crimes charges and the death penalty is a possibility in that case. Frontier News, I'm Allison Sherry in Boulder. This is MPR News.

The BBC says police have confirmed the deaths of two foreigners and one local resident. There's new research on cell phone bands in schools across the US and their effectiveness. More than two-thirds of states have implemented some type of restrictions in PR Sequoia Corrillo reports on the latest findings from the National Bureau of Economic Research. This week's study found that states with restrictions saw dramatically reduced cell phone activity

in schools. Teachers reported that the number of students using cell phones in class dropped on average

from 61 percent to just 13 percent.

On the other hand, the research found that the bands had a "close-to-zero" effect on test scores, but Thomas D, a professor of economics at Stanford and a co-author on this study, characterized this research as the first draft of a new approach to schooling. Even though these bands are very popular with teachers and across party lines, this is new territory, Sequoia Corrillo and Kair News.

Following the latest exchange of fire between the US and Iran stocks slipped in Asia and Friday trading, but the markets in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea set for a strong weekly gain.
