Kroger is offering $1.7 billion for giant eagle.

It's a much smaller deal than Kroger's failed bid to buy its biggest rival Albert Sins. That $25 billion mega deal fell apart in 2024 blocked by courts over concerns that it would limit competition. Kroger and Albert Sins are still in a legal dispute over the fiasco. Alina Sidduch and Pierre News.
