convention speech in as many days. In his own speech, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke of what he called an American birthright to safety and prosperity that he said Democrats oppose. And I want our children to grow up in a country that doesn't roll its eyes at people who pray but remembers that this country itself was an answer to prayer 250 years ago.

This isn't President Trump's first promise to send Americans cash payments. This time the dollar figure is higher but no more politically realistic.
The bill for this proposed dividend would be more than $1 trillion.
Meredith Smith from Austin, Texas says she wakes up every morning and thanks God Trump is President, but she's not sold on this. I don't know. I kind of think maybe they should take that and put it into the debt. But a lot of people are going to like that but it also smacks of the other side.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a package of bills aimed at online protections
for children from Member Station KQED, Rachel Myro reports. It's 13 bills in all. One is a ban on addictive social media features for anyone under 16. Other sets safety rules for AI chat bots used by kids. Thousands of family schools and states have sued the tech industry over harms to young
users. AI developers now face their own way. Newsom said the parents behind these bills lawmakers among them all describe the same thing. Exhaustion and frustration anger despair feeling hopeless.
Parents can't compete, can't compete with engineering, can't compete with the algorithms.
