Saudi Arabia says that it shut down a major oil pipeline after was attacked by drones on Friday.

Red Sea, further tightening a chokehold on an alternate route for oil shipping as the Iranians continue to block a distradivoremous. Ampias Hadil El-Shalti reports. Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said the drones were launched from Iraq and targeted the east-west pipeline in the areas around Red and Medina.
It said that the attacks resulted in injuries and damage to the pipeline. The Iraqi Prime Minister ordered an investigation. On Friday, the Houthis captured a strategic island in the Babel-Mendip straight at the entrance of the Red Sea. The rebel group has been fighting Yemeni government forces, which are backed by Saudi Arabia,
and it controls most of Yemen's north and capital. The Houthis have been attacking Saudi oil tankers moving through Babel-Mendip, which is a vital shipping channel near the Red Sea. Hadil El-Shalti and PR news Istanbul.

elections, but he still has not explained just how that will happen. Gas prices remain above $4 a gallon since the U.S. war against Iran began, and diesel costs have set a new record. And Americans in every state are feeling the effects of the war, even if they don't drive. That's because many of the goods purchased in the U.S. are moving around the country using

Horsesley reports, a market rally on Friday was not enough to reverse losses that came earlier in the week. In escalation of the U.S. war with Iran pushed crude oil prices higher, retail gasoline prices in the U.S. jumped about 15 cents a gallon during the week, while the price of diesel
fuel topped $6 a gallon for the first time ever.
Rising energy prices are keeping inflation elevated, consumer prices in August were up 3.4% from a year ago. Friday's inflation report left investors more confident. The Federal Reserve will raise interest rates when policy makers meet next week. Stocks rose on Friday, but for the week, the NASDAQ loss, 2/3 of a percent, the S&P 500
index fell 8/10 of a percent, and the Dow Jones industrial average tumbleed 1.6%. Scott Horsesley, in Pyrenees, Washington. A court in Hong Kong has sent in three activists there to prison terms of about 5-7 years. The three had for years organized vigils, in remembrance of China's 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, the case has been watched closely as Beijing continues to clamp down on the

More than half a million Russian troops have been killed since that country's full-scale
invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022. That's according to a senior British official, another million troops have been injured at the fighting.

Some educators in Vermont are trying to reimagine the college experience as more people question the cost of a college degree from Vermont Public Liam Elder Conners has a report. The Greenway Institute in Montpire will offer just one degree, engineering.
Its founders and advisors include tech executives, a former state education secretary and a NASA engineer. Students will get hands-on experience, literally building things in class.
And for the second half of their education, they'll get real engineering jobs.
The college will also scale back on amenities to save money. There won't be a gym and students will cook their own meals. Mark Somerville is Greenway's founding president. So we'd like to talk about Greenway as being a place where students will take out their own trash.
