Out of Memphis, Tennessee, I'm a Nashville. This is the headline. Tennessee, Mom, accused of executing a young man on her front lawn.
Apparently the guy was hiding under her daughter's bed.
Her daughter is 13. The guy that is now dead was 20.
“Apparently what happened is that the 13-year-old daughter invites this 20-year-old man into the house.”
They are doing what they were doing at about one or two o'clock in the morning. The mom hears the commotion inside the bedroom, finds him hiding under the bed, allegedly takes him out to the front lawn and shoots him in the back of the head. She's now been arrested for murder. There are so many things as I go through this story.
There are so many different, I don't know, things that are running through my head.
Number one is that she shot him in the back of the head.
Now that in and of itself, and by the way, she's been arrested for murder. Tennessee has some standard ground laws, but it doesn't look like this guy. I mean, yes, it was statutory rape, if he's 20, she's 13, that is rape. So there is that. So let's get that out of the way right now.
I'm not sticking up for the murderer. I should say I'm not sticking up for anybody here, so I'm just kind of asking questions. On the one hand, you say, well, dude was messing around with a 13 year old and he was 20. So the mom felt like she had every right to take him out.
Okay.
“How do you know that the 13 year old was honest about her age to the 20 year old?”
How do you know that she didn't say, I'm 18. I still live with my mom, come on over right, but there's a lot we don't know. But this is the story. A mom and Tennessee arrested for murder when officers found a man dead on her front lawn after she claimed that she caught him hiding under her daughter's bed.
Kendra Scott 36 years old was taken into custody by the Memphis Police Department after officers responded to her home just before 2 AM on Thursday for reports of a shooting. It's made the grim discovery of a 20 year old man, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of his head on Scott's front porch. Scott's daughter, who has not been named due to her age, apparently though she's 13, identified
the victim as a man named Radarius Morton. She told police that she'd invited Morton to the home and he came in through the back door at 1 o'clock in the morning about 20 minutes later, her mother, Scott came home and knocked loudly on the door yelling, who is at my house? The girl told police that she was scared because her mom had a gun and had previously threatened
that if a boy was in the house, she would put a hole in his butt. I can't say that on my radio. She said that when she left, she says when she let her mother into the room, Scott allegedly caught Morton hiding under the bed and collected his belongings before leaving the home. The daughter added that Scott told Morton to get out of my house at she heard one gunshot
when the two went out onto the front porch. The neighbor also reported that he saw outside when he heard banging and saw Scott going into the home with a gun. This is where the story gets little confusing. The neighbor came back outside after hearing gunshots and reported that Scott was allegedly
standing in the front yard with the gun saying, "I shot him, I shot him, according to
The arrest affidavit.
Officers later located a nine millimeter spent shell casing on the front porch and a black handgun in the yard. Neighbors says this incident started with the worst nightmare of any parent of a 13-year-old girl predictably it ended in tragedy. Scott's lawyer, the mom, Scott's lawyer, Blake Bayland telling the Daily Mail in a statement.
“One of the key questions in this case, they say, "Will be whether anyone could act rationally”
in this circumstance?" Tunisia Gunn, who said that she was Morton's sister on Facebook, paid tribute to him on line writing, "What makes this so hard is knowing my little brother was mentally challenged. He was not the average 20-year-old.
He has always had a child like mindset.
That is why he barely talked or always was keeping to himself." She says, "Lord, I don't know what transpired these last few days before his life was taken. But here we are, lost, hurt, heartbroken, and left with so many unanswered questions. What I do know is, Radarius was not this monster people are claiming he was." Another sister, Tamara Morton, wrote in a separate social media post, "My heart is broken,
my little brother, Rad, he says, "He didn't bother nobody, Lord, this is the nightmare.
“I'm so angry, the shocking sequence of events.”
His rattled the family's neighbors, Gloria Melon, who lives near Scott, the mom, telling action five news that she seemed like a real, nice lady." All I can say is that hurts that someone was in there with one of her little girls she added. However, another neighbor said that if they had been in this situation, they would have
called the police instead of deploying a weapon.
Scott was rained virtually on Friday on two charges of first-degree murder and possessing
a firearm during a dangerous felony, is due back in court on Monday for a bail review hearing. Man, what do you do? If you're on the jury, any parent will tell you, finding a 20-year-old man in the room of your 13-year-old daughter, is horrifying.
The question is going to be, and it's the lawyer who asks the question, could any person be
“considered in their right mind if that's what you ultimately find?”
So is this going to be a situation where I don't think that she can say that she could use standard ground laws? I don't think that you can do that because it sounds like she had a guy and she found him in the bedroom for 13-year-old daughter, but this wasn't violent rape situation. She invited him over.
So that's part of the dynamic. He didn't break in. He was allowed in by the daughter. That's number one. Number two, I don't know if you could say that he was a threat because she had a gun on
him. She had him and she could have very easily just called the police, but instead she came out. She had the gun. She was holding him via the gun.
As far as I know, he was alarmed. He didn't have a knife and she shot him in the back of the head. And now she's being charged with murder. This is a crazy story. People posting on social media, some details have been confirmed on this story.
The man hiding under the bed was 20 years old and the child was 13. The child allegedly let the man into the house did not tell the mother. The mother found the man hiding under the bed. They got into some sort of verbal fight that led them to the porch where she shot him. Canterra stated to the police, canterra Scott, the mother stating to police that she, quote,
saw a dude under my kids bed and I did what I had to do.
She's being charged with first degree murder.
Now here's the question. The man was he grooming the daughter or did the daughter lie to the guy and say that she was 18 years old and just living with the mom. There's a lot that we don't know and I'm just discovering this story.
It's online, but I don't know.

Okay. Someone did that at my house. I wouldn't even think twice about shooting them. Okay. I don't care what state you're in.
That's home invasion. That's a federal crime. Now, when you saw I looked up, so you're saying that it's a home invasion robbery. And in by the way, for folks that are just tuning in, there is a story out of Memphis, going to see where a mom found a 20-year-old man, one AM in the bedroom of her 13-year-old
daughter. Apparently the 13-year-old daughter invited the 20-year-old into the home. He came in. Mom comes home, finds him hiding under the bed, takes him out to the front porch.
Ultimately, the guy ends up dead from a gunshot wound, mom shot him in the head.
She is now being charged with murder, first to be a murder. So I looked this up, William. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
It's still home invasion. Anyway, you look at it. He's an adult. She was a minor. That is where the crime is right there.
Okay. So I'm not arguing with you. Although we don't know if the girl lied to the 20-year-old about her age, but putting that aside. This is where you might be right here, actually.
So I looked it up, home invasion in the state of Tennessee commonly used to describe aggravated burglary or of a habitation or a dwelling.
So basically, they say, without the effective consent of the property owner, enter a habitation
or remain concealed in one, with intent to commit a felony, a theft or assault inside. So if a 20-year-old is having sex with a 13-year-old, I'm pretty sure that's a felony. I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that that's a felony, then maybe they could make
That work as a defense.
Yeah. Well, either way, it's going to get thrown out, even if it has good to it appeals. Whatever. I'm saying it's wrong if it happened in my house, I wouldn't even think twice about it. Okay.
Let me, let me, let me, let me, let me listen, I get your passion and I totally do. But to play devil's advocate, because it's talk radio and it's what we do. So just to play devil's advocate, she, he wasn't from what I can tell. He's not fighting back.
I mean, we don't know what ultimately happened in the seconds before she called the trigger,
but she had him, he was unarmed. And she had the gun pointed at him, and she shot him in the back of the head.
“So why couldn't she have just called the police and let the police deal with it?”
Okay. It doesn't matter. He entered her house illegally, and this is what they call the castle law. All right? I don't know what it does in Tennessee, but I know what it is in most states.
You got to write it a friend of your property against, well, how do I say this correctly? Unlawful entry, and if someone does that, there it gates the hell. You know what? You bring up an interesting point, and my counter to that would be in, please understand,
I'm not defending anybody here, but the daughter let him in, the daughter let him in. Well, that's between him and her and her mother. Yeah. I mean, but at the same time, you know, 20 year old man with a 13 year old girl? Yeah, no.
That doesn't work in my world. No, listen. Way by. I get it. And I appreciate the call.

Could you call this a crime of passion? I'm going to be very interested to see how this whole thing plays out. A lot of people, and you just heard William there defending the mom. And if you're the parent of a 13 year old daughter, I've got an adult daughter now, but when she was 13, I found a guy hiding under her bed, you know, one to a clock in the morning.
I can't sit here and say that I wouldn't have the same reaction.
But the local authorities have charged her with murder, incredible story.
Okay. Do you want to comment on that, feel free, phone lies, rope, and 86690, Red Eye. I love this. This is from the Twitter account, the ex-account of a guy named Nate Friedman. Now he is asked, we're talking earlier, about the Democrat Socialists of America.
He is asked the Democrat Socialists of America to pitch you socialism. I want you to make sense of what in the world this guy is saying, listen very closely. I know I saw statistic amazing for you guys more than half of young Americans now prefer socialism over capitalism. So if you can look into the camera, I give a 30 second elevator pitch on why socialism
is better than capitalism. Immunity, are you tired of sitting alone and being by yourself and having no end to talk to being a socialist? It's all about communities. It's about areas sitting down and having coffee or random stranger and talking to them,
talking about the game. Hell, I have hugged more strangers in this past summer because the next game because of the world cup, because Socialism works, is the watch party that is on-run hosted. It's about the parties that we allow, we don't have cops, hogging every single sight and saying, "Oh, you can't be here because there's too many people."
Instead of allowing people to just be in their nature, a natural element of talking to the dude, pawned over things we love and share. So that was socialism. It's scary word. A, me taking your house is about me making sure your house remains in your hands and
some million doesn't take it from you.
Okay, so that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. So I'm going to rewind this and I'm going to go through this one by one.
“Now, remember, realizing that one of the things that Mimdani wants to do is he is enforcing”
rent controls in, and the guy points us out in the video. So one of the things that Mimdani wants to do and you folks, if you're listening in New York, you know what he's doing is he is freezing rent and then what happens is if you're freezing the rent, then things go wrong in the home or the dwelling, the apartment complex, whatever it is, then the landlord, the landlord, the owner of the building, can't afford
to fix stuff when it breaks. So then the apartment building or the home, whatever starts going into disrepair, then the
Government is going to take it over.
That's part of what is happening or is going to happen in New York. Also realize that rents in New York, they are going up big time because when you put in rent controls on some apartments, then the rent for other apartments is going to go sky high. That is exactly what's going on in New York. I'm going to handle this one point by one point at a time coming up next on Red Eye Radio.

Crocodile Dundee. It's not alligators in Florida, it is crocodiles and here in America we do have alligators. All right, anyway, we have a lot of people that want to talk about the topic real quickly about the mom who found a 20 year old man under the bed of his 13 year old daughter. She was like one o'clock in the morning, she took him out to the front porch and she
shot him in the back of the head.
She's now been charged with first degree murder and I mean, this is a crazy story because
clearly the guy was up to no good with the 13 year old girl. We don't know if the girl lied to him about her age, that's number one. Number two is the girl let him into the home. She came into the back door, while apparently the mom was not home, and so now the question is was she justified in shooting this man in the back of the head, a Darrell is calling
from Texas and Darrell, you're on red. I already know how are you, I'm okay, what do you think about all this? I don't know what the laws aren't going to see, but in Texas, I'm pretty sure once the threat is gone, you can't just shoot the man in the back of the head. She'd call him on to the bed and shot him like in the crime of passion, types of scenario.
She could have had a good defense right there, you know, she could have, she could have held him a gun point to the police, but she came out of the house and he's been in the yard, she shoots him in the back of the head. The threat is now walking away, there's no longer a threat, you can't shoot the guy in
“the back of the head, that's why she's got the murdered charge.”
Yeah, and Darrell, just so everybody knows, I am a hardcore 2A supporter, big time. This is what, and thank you, Darrell, for the call. This is what they say, Tennessee's Castle Doctrine laws. If you're in a place where you have a lawful right to be, including your home, and you're not engaged in unlawful activity, which this woman was not, you have no duty to retreat
before using force, including deadly force, when you reasonably believe it is immediately necessary to protect against another's unlawful force to Darrell's point and to the point that I was making earlier. The word immediately, when you reasonably believe it is immediately necessary to protect against another's unlawful force.
So I want you to think about this, she arrives home. She finds the guy underneath the bed. I'm just assuming this is the order of things, it sounds like the natural order of things. She orders the guy to come out from under the bed, he collects his things, I don't know if he had to get dressed, whatever, she marches him out of the house, and then she was in the
“back of the head because, remember, he was found on the porch.”
Here's what else they say, presumption of reasonable fear in a dwelling, I.e. your home.
If someone unlawfully and forcibly enters, the daughter let him in when the m...
home.
Your residence, dwelling, business, or vehicle, you are presumed to have a reasonable belief
that you, or others present, face imminent death, serious bodily injury, or grave sexual abuse. This presumption justifies the use of deadly force.
“You must know or have reason to believe the entry was unlawful, unlawful, and forcibly.”
Well, again, he didn't force his way in, he was found underneath the bed. The question is, what was the conversation with the daughter? Did the daughter say, mom, I allowed him in, I allowed him into the house, I met him online, I know this guy, whatever, please understand, I'm not defending the guy who was grooming or, you know, going after this woman like this girl, 13-year-old girl like a predator,
he was a predator, I'm not defending him, there's just some things that we don't know. Again, like I said, we don't know if the girl lied to him about the age, that is also part of the discussion. Jim is in Minnesota on Red Eye Radio. Jim, go ahead.
Now, good morning, I agree with the previous caller about the castle law.
“The issue with things is, if she had shot him immediately when she found them, the only”
one he was doing, that would be a crime of passion if it was a crime, but a castle law was within your castle, by walking him out onto the porch and then shooting him in the back
of the head, she's going to sew her time, that whether she gets first degree murder or manslaughter
or third degree, I don't think she would deserve first degree murder because it's still kind of passion. But no, you cannot just take a life, you cannot act as the law, and it's the situation because I was on a self-op. The comment I wanted to make was she shot a guy while he was under the bed, because then she could have claimed that, hey, there was a, you know, a 20 year old guy hiding underneath my 13 year old bed, and she at that point might have been able to say, I didn't know
how we entered the house, I didn't know if this was some sort of allowed entry or forced entry, but to, and the guy was a slime to be doing this, to leave the guy out onto the back porch or onto the front porch, and then shoot him in the back of the head, you know, because that precludes the guy is coming at her or trying to turn around or to do anything
“that would put her life in jeopardy, I think might be a problem for her.”
What I'm saying is, if she the shot the guy when he was under the bed, she could have claimed that, hey, there was some, you know, there was some deviant hiding underneath my 13 year olds bed, and so in protection of my 13 year old, I shot the guy. And Dave, you're, I, everybody is saying the same thing, and Dave, I appreciate the call you're right.
Here's what we don't know, actually I'm going to let Dan and Washington stay tell us
what we don't know. Dan, go ahead. What's your comment, Dan, right? I radio. Hey, she's walking him out to the door. He stops and says, I'm going to turn around and take the gun from you. So he's shooting in the story itself, the vent. All right, Dan, thank you very much for the call. I appreciate it. So what Dan's commented
screened was, how do we know what was said to the mother? See, that's the big question. And to me, the question is, what was said to the mother? What did the daughter say to the mom? Because if the daughter said to the mom, mom, I let him in. He's my boyfriend, or I made him online, whatever. So there's a lot that we don't know. But I'm, I mean, I'm a Nashville. So I'm going to be watching this case. I may reach out to my contacts and

Now, what this guy says is absolutely nonsense. I know I saw statistic amazing for you

So can somebody please explain to me how being a socialist means that all have somebody to talk to. Can I be honest with you? I am
a good conservative. And I got plenty of people to talk to, whether it's on the radio,
“in Starbucks or wherever I happen to go on any given day. So the fact is socialist or able”
to talk to each other. Okay. Well, conservatives can too. So that to me is absolutely silly, not not exactly a good selling point for socialism because there's nothing unique about people being able to talk to each other. Next is all about communities about lyrious sitting down and having coffee or random standard and talking them, talking about the game. Hell, I have I can talk about the game to literally anyone who is willing to have
that conversation with me. That is not unique to socialism, just saying. Pug more strangers in this past summer because the next game because of the world cup because socialism works. Okay. So he has run around and randomly started hugging people because of the next game and because of the world cup. How is that tied to socialism? That's not tied to socialism. It's simply not. By the way, listen to this.
There's a watch party that is on rent hosted is about the parties that we allow. We don't have pops. Pugging every single site. All right. So he says this was about the watch parties that Zoron Mimdani allowed. Can we talk about that real quick? The watch parties that Zoron Mimdani allowed. I'm going to put that word a loud in air quotes. He actually charged
“people. I don't know if you remember this story. I think I was on red. I filling in for”
the guys when this was going down. But it was when the the next game was going on and they were in the basketball championship. And there were watch parties that were being held. And there were places where these watch parties were typically in the past. They were free. But then Mimdani decided the good socialist that he is that people were going to be charged to get into these watch parties. And people lost their ever loving minds. Yeah. That socialism
for you on hosted is about the the parties that we allow. We don't have pops. Pugging every single site and saying, oh, you can't be here because there's too many people. Instead of allowing people to just be in their nature and natural element of talking to the dude, bond over things we love and share. So that was socialist and scary word. Me taking your house is about me
making sure your house remains in your hands. And some million doesn't take it from you. That's it.
Okay. That's it. That's it. I'm convinced. I'm rated to turn in my conservatism card. So all of that is just silly. And I did explain earlier in the guy mentions this in the video that rents under Zorn Mimdani. They have skyrocketed because what he has done is he has placed rent controls on some apartment buildings in New York. And of course, when you do that, you impact the free market. And so the remaining non rent control departments, their rents
have gone sky high. So this guy not exactly a great way to sell socialism. I mean, socialism, I did in the second hour of the program. I talked a lot about socialism and what the communists
“of the DSA really want to do. I think this guy who is described as one of the leaders of the”
Democrat Socialist of America, not a real good way to sell socialism because basically he's talking
about people doing social things that right now we're doing under capitalism. But whatever,
If that's the way that he wants to roll, okay.
