have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. It was him to no grip on the eye-hart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Lainy Wilson, TLC, and EnVogue.

"You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio." Then allow her on this Monday, Dan and the Dan and Stan Patrick Show, last call for phone

calls this hour. Best and worst of the weekend operator Tyler sitting by, he'll take those calls, second straight year in which every sweet 16 team is from one of the five major conferences. We started labeling them or going to major conferences as a designation back in 1997. You can say, "Okay, is this the future here?

Is this where we're headed that it's going to be the have and have nons and we won't have Cinderella's?"

I think we will have Cinderella's stories.

We might only have one or two perturnement, and we had a couple of them already. Now, I'm not looking at Texas's as Cinderella's story. But I did look at Miami, Ohio, BCU, High Point. They were fun, but you got to get into week two. If you get into week two, then you have a Cinderella's story.

And we don't have that this year. Do I think this is the future or an aberration? I think it's more of the future here, of these power five conferences, and, you know, I've read off a lot of the salaries that they're dishing out to their players.

Island Nebraska are the lowest of the sweet 16 at 7.2 million.

We've got a couple of schools at 11 million. Well, that's only going to rise. The question is, if you're a mid major, how do you compete?

As Seth Greenberg said earlier today, I would treat my mid major as a junior ...

If I can get two years out of you, and then you go on because you're a better player,

and you're being recognized, noticed, and you're going to make more money, then maybe there's a finder's fee for that coach, that team, that school, where you don't leave these mid majors hanging, maybe it's $50,000. I don't know. I mean, look, I'm asking the NCAA to come up with some kind of blueprint game plan, power, pulling, you're funny.

I'll play the role of NCAA president here, but I think that would be where you're helping

the kid, you're helping the school that lost the kid, and then the school that gets him, you know. Just like, you know, what Drake had a really good team, their coach goes to Iowa. He brings the team to Iowa. Well, Drake should be compensated, you know, a coach has a buyout, maybe we get to the

point where players have a buyout as well. Yes, Marvin, if you're a mid major coach, you want your kids to be good, but not too good. Like, I live there. I live near small college, and it's like, oh, stop scoring 20 points a night. No, this sucks because you're going to be gone in a year.

Baseball's opening day on NBC and peacock, the pirates visit the match, then in Primetime, the Diamondbacks against the Dodgers, that'll be Thursday, NBC, and peacock. All right, Seaton, pull question for the final hour of the program. Is. Yeah, Florida still run away with the worst of the weekend over Kentucky, Kansas, and the lower

seeds, uh, the, which states dislike each other the most Michigan Ohio still have a real

strangled on that. Not getting a lot of respect, and that one is Oklahoma, Texas. That's a shame, uh, and the best time zone to live in central, uh, followed by Pacific, then Eastern, then mountain people tuning in going away. What, what's the poll question here?

Uh, that's our goal every day. Yes, well, we do that. I think we accomplish that. What are you talking about? Um, I'm looking at point spreads for the games coming up later on this week, Purdue, seven

and a half-favorite against Texas, Arizona, eight and a half against Arkansas. That surprises me a little bit. I like Arkansas. I mean, Arizona is a great team, uh, at fields a little high, Michigan 10 and a half against Alabama, um, then the other games are, you know, kind of close, Duke, minus six and

a half against St. John's. Texas has the longest odds to reach the national title game, Alabama, and then Iowa, and then Arkansas. So those are the, uh, the long odds to reach the title game. Josh in Texas.

Good morning, Josh. What's on your mind today? Good morning, uh, representing the best time zone here in Texas, uh, just best of the worst of the weekend coaching related, uh, Iowa and Nebraska coaches, McCollum and Hoyberg definitely, uh, geeked out and watching some of their offensive sets looking forward to

their big showdown this next week. And a tie, uh, for best, goes to Maryland, uh, women's coach, Brandon, Linda Freeze, that's right. Getting on to a start player, uh, a great example of what a great coach athlete, relationship looks like, and Mr. Barclay was kind of referring to that kind of great coaching earlier

to, uh, I believe, uh, worst Todd Golden flat, uh, Iowa took them down, and then, uh, speaking of best of words to good friend of mine here today, said about sports.

It's honestly the best thing to ever happen to me, and also the pain of my existence.

Yeah. Yeah. You'd give it the take it to a, it's why it's unbelievable. It's awesome. And just that, that wave of emotion that you would have had, if, if you're looking at

a shot that just goes in and then you're looking at a shot where Kentucky at the other end, or here you are with Florida, and then Iowa beats you from the corner. Like, just, we got it, we're moving, we lost it. And then, you know, conversely, it's like, oh, we're not going to win it. We, we want it.

That's what you love about March madness.

And it's, and it's not always about Cinderella.

I just want to see a good basketball. I mean, it's nice to have a good story. But I think if I'm honest, I like a nice story for maybe a week. And then I want, I want a great program. I want Michigan, or do St. John's Connecticut, you know, you Arizona, you want a great

team to win the national championship. Yeah. Pauling. That's Saturday, the end of the Vandy Nebraska game. Was it Tyler Tanner, the guard for Vandy, half court, banks in and out.

And the whole arena, if you watch, like the Nebraska side was like, they dodged it. And the Vandy side thought they had it for one second. That would have been played for decades.

This is the first sweet 16 without at least one of the following.

Kansas, Kentucky, or Gonzaga.

That's the first time since 1990.

Yeah. Yeah. Stad of the day. Stad of the day. Stad of the day.

Stad of the day. Stad of the day. Stad of the day. Stad of the day. Stad of the day.

Stad of the day. Stad of the day.

Brought to you by a Pini America, the official trading card.

So the Dan Patrick show. Jimmy and Chicago. Hi, Jimmy. What's on your mind today? Hey, then, I've been wanting to ask you this.

That picture of Fritz, you looking like Mark Russell, back in the day. Standing next to his friend, Conrad, I think what's his name. I'm not convinced.

I think Fritz is a guy in the right and Conrad is on the left.

Just wondering what you think about it. It's Corbin. That is correct. Yeah. Corbin.

But no, that's Fritzzy. That is Fritzzy. A young Mark Ruffalo, who's Jacked. And if I was built like that, I would have had my shirt off even during the winter. Yeah, good hair like that, but pretty impressive photo there.

It's a little short lived in which there was a longer step, but it might okay. Would you rather have that later in your life or earlier in your life? I was fine with having it earlier in my life. I don't think I did enough with that situation. Well, that is true.

We've talked about doing damage and you didn't because you were living with your mom. Living at home during college and just being a little on the shy side.

That's why that's why I started working out to just feel better and more self-confidence.

But I don't know if using the expression doing damage is actually a good one for you to use. That's not politically correct. Just to, you know, doing damage. Getting busy. Did you get with it?

Well, that's better than doing damage. That's fair. Yeah. As the father of three daughters, if I knew that you were saying that back then, then we'd have a problem. I'd probably be doing damage to myself because you didn't fall in love too fast.

And then after one or two times together, I did done with you. Well, you have done damage to yourself. I have. Yeah. There's a lot of self-inflicted damage there.

Motional damage. Yes. That's true. And we all pay the price for that. Every day with your emotional damage.

But thank God for it. Yeah. Jamie and Colorado. Hi, Jamie. What's on your mind today?

Hey, good morning. I've actually been listening to you since the days back with Bob and Brian and Milwaukee. That's how old I am. Wow. But I have to disagree with the rest of the country and that I bought a property in Colorado. I live in Florida part of the year, specifically to watch sports.

Because it is simply the greatest times on to watch sports. And I see it in my saying. Exactly. When do you go to Colorado to watch sports? I go for March madness.

I go for the National Championship for football. I'll do it. Any excuse my wife will give me to drive out or fly out so that I don't have to stay up to one of the morning watching. Very few A&M in Florida. Good for you, Jamie.

Yeah, Paul. Jamie travels to his home. Second home. To sit on the couch and watch sports. Yeah.

I have a lot of respect for this guy. Zach and Knoxville. Hi, Zach. What's on your mind? Thank you.

Thanks, sir. Take a look at my call. Vest of the weekend was Nick Kronen and Kevin Willard being bounced from the tournament. I understand what trucks say about coaching your players hard and even your assistants.

If you're Kevin Willard, but I don't think you need to do it.

And throw them under the bus at the same time. And just to revisit that all-time college basketball starting five.

I'd take myself at the past first point guard.

I need a shooter in you. And then I'll take three loop hair and go deez. All right. Luke. Hair and go deez.

Where did he play? No, didn't know the name. Oh, least five years. Oh, okay. When's my girl from Notre Dame?

The dog was going to light some people up around four p.m. eastern. Man, I love watching her play. She has like nine steals. Yes, she is. She's all over the place.

Yeah, more. Remember, we saw her in South Bend. We're like, man, five, six, five, seven. She's a dog out there. Oh, I know.

Oh, my goodness. Yes. You know, she's on the floor. Yeah, Paul. But they're playing Ohio State Dan OSU is really good this year.

I'm 27 and seven is favored by five and a half. Billy and Iowa. Hi, Billy. What's on your mind today? Good morning, Dan.

Thanks for taking my call and the entire crew. Love watching you on P.cock. I have two best of the weekend. My son is a graduate from Iowa State. So he's thrilled.

My daughter is a graduate from the University of Iowa.

She's thrilled.

And I'm an Illinois fan. My entire life. Yeah. So I'm thrilled. And then I've put comment about Charles as interview.

I'm 54 years old. And I've been a six or a fan since Dr. Jay. And I love him. I had Barclay. My daughter gets married in October.

And I'm looking at the song. He suggested, "For that brown band for my daughter and I to dance." So love today's show. As I love all the shows. Thank you.

All right. Thank you, Billy. Yeah, my daughter gets married in August. So I don't-- I might--

See, I-- I don't want her to do something because I'm suggesting. Hey, you guys might want to play this song. I'd rather that she found a song, her and her fiance. And that--

Or if she said, "Hey, got any songs or what about our first song?"

And I'm thinking stairway to Heaven. Oh, no. It's kind of-- The live version of that. Yeah, probably.

What if it goes the opposite?

Your daughter goes, "Dad, don't you know that brown?

Can he come?" Hmm. Well, I've already got-- Is Darious going to be in the area? Oh, my god.

No. No. No. No. No.

No. [LAUGHTER] Better. [LAUGHTER] And the tears don't nail my grave.

Open bar. Yeah. Hold my hand. Now, I can't do that.

But, uh, well, if he is in the area,

then I might have to have him sing one song. Yes, ma'am. We have to be sedated before the wedding. I want to be sedated. Are you emotionally-- like, are you ready?

No, no, no, no. This is going to be terrible. Like, you were a mess at your song's wedding. Yes. Yes.

Yes. Um. It's hard to say you dread your daughter getting married, but I just dread the speech that I have to give. Because I'm going to have my son interpret for me.

I'm going to have him of all the things that I'm trying to say. My son who doesn't cry, he is emotionalist. And he'll be-- well, my dad is trying to say, but yeah, that's going to be tough. Yeah, pulling.

I think that's a good bit.

And I think you're completely aware that you're going to be a puddle.

So why worry? Okay. I don't want to cry going down the aisle. I mean, I can have tears.

I don't want to have that blurred out.

[LAUGHTER] Like, that would be terrible. Yeah, pulling. Do the 50-yard stare. Stare forward.

Do not look right to your daughter if you can. Try to look at the back of the altar. Maybe I get like horse racing like blinders. Yeah. Somebody said take beta blockers.

Yeah. That might help my emotions. It's probably the move. Is it? Archery guys do.

Yeah. Well, if it helps in archery. Yeah. I know some people. I cried walking down the aisle with my son.

God. Yes. Well, because you can't make it about you. I don't want to. Right.

You can't make it about you. It's definitely of all the moments. This is her moment. I know. But I got to get.

If I get down in and sit down. Then I think I'm okay. But it's that walk. And you hear the music. And everybody's looking.

And I know they're not looking at me. But they're going to hear me. And as I'm walking down the aisle with my wife and my son when he got married. I actually said to people, yes. I'm crying.

I got. I was doing my best to not just like just fall apart. Yes. Yeah. Yeah.

Got to just stay in the moment. Yeah. Do you want the emotions later? I don't want to stay in the moment. I want to extricate.

I want the jaws of life to take me out of it emotionally. But then I don't want to miss anything. And I keep thinking. You know. It made it right around the corner.

It's August. August 15th. It's right. It's right there. Yes.

Yeah.

What if you look at something right before you go down the aisle that kind of changes your mood like the bill?

Maybe. Maybe I have fritzy there. Oh. And I just stare at fritzy. Hang really.

Yeah. I would do that for you though. If I were to get through it, I would. It's got a little mini cocktail Franks and you know, get some. Okay.

When we come back, Dylan is going to join us. Yeah. Dylan had a 10 team parlay. And it was going to pay out over $5,000. He will update you on his 10 team parlay after the break.

came on our show.

Quick, knowledgeable and funny opinionated.

Well, well, well, well. What are you doing? The rough thing up promo. Yeah. It wasn't talking about you.

You took those clips totally out of context. Oh, yeah. Well, after this promo, I'm going to take you out and beat you. Let me put this into context. Shut up.

Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?

Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Waga Getting change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory.

I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman. And these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on no grip. A Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under explored pockets of the sport. In each episode, a different guest tonight will go deeper into the wacky misshaps scandals and sagas, both on the track and far away from it.

That have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to no grip on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Marshmatton is here and if you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, Blagrant and Funny. You look at the top four number one seeds.

What do you think UCLA is going to do breakdown that for me, my friend? I do think UCLA has a really good chance of getting back to the final four. Obviously, you kind is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament. But I be honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to you con.

And that right after that would be Texas. S&C is so deep and so thick and just about everything, I really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU. Only once I could possibly upset you con. I'm flagrant at funny, we're giving our unfilter take some of the biggest moments the conversations

everyone's having, so whether you're bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament. Got you. Listen to Plagrant and Funny with Carrie Champion and Jamal Hill on the iHeart Radio app. Apple podcasts or wherever you picture podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Climbing Sponsor. The people with self was up, it's Questlove.

So recently, I had the incredible opportunity to have a real conversation with actors and producer Jamie Lee Curtis ahead of the release of our new thriller series, Scar Petta.

I can honestly say I've never done an interview like that before,

you know, at one point I set my laptop down. And we just started chatting as old friends, recent Oscar recipient. So we have some commonality there. I predict that by the way. And you said these words to me, "Dust off your mantle." Yes. And I looked at you and I said, "What?"

And you said, "Dust off your mantle." And then I left and that was it. And then when all of that happened,

I remember the next morning, I think I wanted to like write you and go,

"How did you know?" Listen to the Questlove show or the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him. Hi, Dad.

And just when I said that, "My mom comes out of the kitchen." She says, "I haven't cooked these in milk." It's a bad ass convict. You know, just finish five years. I don't have cooked these in milk at all.

On the scene I showed podcast, each episode advice you

into a raw unfiltered conversations about recovery, resilience and redemption.

On a recent episode, I sit down with actor,

cultural icon Danny Trail talk about addiction, transformation in the power of second chances. The entire season two is now available to bench,

featuring powerful conversations, the guest-like Tiffany Addish,

Johnny Knoxville and more. I'm an alcoholic. And without this crew, I'm a guy. Open your free iHeart Radio app, search the Seedow Show, and listen now.

Oh, there he is, Mr. Parlay. Dylan is in the room. When we last left you, or you left us, you would hit 8 of 8 out of 10 team Parlay, that was going to pay out over $5,000.

That is correct, then. All right. If you seem despondent, so what happened? So I needed Akron plus 8 and Arizona minus 31. Okay.

There's a long time ago now, but if I recall correctly, Arizona covered the 31 Akron. Did not. And I did not cash out.

If the games weren't running concurrently,

would you have tapped out before the last game? Let's say Arizona won that and they covered, and you still had the Akron bet. Would you have cashed out for $1,000? Well, it's assuming at that point it would be even higher.

Like, say it was like, you know, 2,500 or 3. I probably would have cashed out and then just lied and said, I didn't seem tougher. How was social media treating you? They were very rude to me, Dan actually.

There's a lot of keyboard warriors who after the fact were like, should have cashed out. I was like, yeah, because it lost. Yeah, probably. Akron was down five and a half to Texas Tech.

The end of the game, 91, 71, red raiders over your zips. Yes, Todd. So John came away with zips because of that. Oh, okay.

I'm going to give you a balloon on that.

You could have won like, what $5,600 was on the one?

Yeah. I would have shared with you two, Todd, and until that kind of comment. Do you have any bets coming up? Well, Dan, I actually genuinely didn't bet anything over the weekend. I legitimately was so mad on Friday that

despondent, some would say. Yeah. Like, I know no one cares about your parlay that lost by one leg. But like, I believed I also told the entire nation ahead of time that it was hanging in the balance, which probably in the gambling

God's eyes was not a great idea. True. But I'll be back. I didn't even want to look at the board after that. The current favorite to win it all is still Duke.

The three one seeds that are left are all favored in their region and then Houston is favored in the south. Okay. I guess I could call him Pauli's Gators. God bounced.

No, they're my Gators. They're your Gators? I had him in the championship game. Yep. I had him losing to Arizona.

Yeah, Paul had Gonzaga in his final four.

And Ceden had Miami, which actually looked like they were going to maybe pull one over on Purdue for a bit there. Yeah. Yeah, I thought, what does Ceden know that I don't know when he picked Miami and I'm going,

I don't know if I watched any Miami basketball. And Ceden-- That makes two of us. [LAUGHTER] Sometimes it's better that way.

Yeah, you know, like, when you go through the bracket matchup by matchup and you look sort of not at the big picture and you just go, "Who do I like better here?" Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. You end up with Miami in the fun.

[LAUGHTER] Anything else you'd like to add, Dillon? Yeah, Dan. We actually have updated standings for the disappointment draft. OK.

You want to explain the disappointment draft? Yes. So you guys each picked three teams among the one-through-four seeds. And the goal is to win the fewest games with those teams. So you started off negative based on who you picked.

If you picked the one seed, you started off negative four, two negative three. It's so on and so forth. So the goal is to lose. OK. So in the lead right now is Pauli at four under.

OK. That four to loss was big for him. But he's still got used to the Michigan State in there.

And then Dan, you and Todd tied for second at three under.

Todd, Gonzaga and Virginia lost for Todd, but he's got Iowa State. All three of yours are still in play, which that's not good for this. And then followed up by Marvin, who's got Arizona, Arizona, Yukon Nebraska, Nebraska, Sneaky Nebraska and there. And seeding is that one under.

Kansas lost. Just big for him and then he's got Duke and Bama.

Seeding got a little ground to cover, but it's a long tournament.

Thank you, Dylan. Sorry about your parlay. Dave and Indianapolis.

I Dave, what's on your mind today?

Hey, Dave. Hey, Dave. Jeff, Indianapolis. I Dan, how are you? Good Jeff.

Good.

So my daughter got married and writing a little with COVID in 2020.

And as we were preparing for the wedding, we were going to have 350, 400 guests. And at the time, COVID did its thing. We were down to 60, 7 odd people and my daughters, of course. In a full freak out mode. And I had decided to use the Zach Brown song.

Oh. That's your going to use as our dad daughter, Dave. She did not want me to tell her what it was. I had a tough. I just told my son-in-law.

And yeah, my son-in-law, to be at the time. And I said, hey, there's a part in the song where there's about a one-minute instrumental.

When that happened, then went you to walk out.

And I'm going to kind of stare remotely. And you often watch the rest of the song. I make it through walking around the island. I know you're worried about that. I make it through that, no problem.

Because we're down to 50 people. It's like nobody there. I'm singing to her. I'm singing every word of the song. And these are my son-in-law walks out of the island.

And melts like a puddle. And literally can actually get to my seat to sit down and cry. Everybody's laughing at me. So good luck. Don't sing it.

Don't do it. Find another song. Do some metallica. Something do something a little more upbeat.

And I'm not worried about the first dance.

Because I can hide. I'll just put my head on your shoulder or something. And it's over by then. But walking down the island. And then you give that speech.

Oh, I remember the first time I saw the building.

I wonder if they would not need tape it. We could produce it up. Maybe we tape it. And then they show the video screen. And then I.

And that's not, that's not a crazy thing. Stephen Houston. Nice to see you. Oh, oh, damn. Don't tape it.

Don't do that to the girl. Come on. Listen. The beta blockers. Brother, imagine having your daughter asking you to officiate her wedding.

Which happened to me last November. I cry at people's weddings when I don't even know them. So in finding a way to get through this, my friend. You're dealing with a flood of adrenaline. You only usually associate adrenaline with fear or sports or something like that.

Overwhelming joy and adrenaline. Not a usual association. This pill, this beta blocker allows you to not. See all the effects of that adrenaline for a few moments. So you can actually take a breath.

It doesn't check you out emotionally. It allows you to be there in the moment. And be there as your kid wants you to be there for her. It's the greatest thing ever, man. Okay.

Thank you, Steve. I'm going to get a prescription for beta blockers. Yes, Marvin. Did you cry at your wedding? When I saw my wife, yes.

I did. Yeah. But we heard part was she's walking down the aisle. And she is stunning. And I see her lean back like she's going to fall.

And I go, oh my god, she's fainting. Well, it turns out that her, she had a relative who was trying to get a picture. And he stepped out into the aisle on her dress. And she nearly fell back because Timmy had to get a great picture. But yeah, I did tear up when I saw her.

But then I laughed because, well, I didn't laugh. I laughed after I realized that they, you know, this guy stepped on her. Yeah, Paul. Damn, we've talked about this before. I'm proposing there should be an enforcer at all weddings.

Like almost like a wedding cop that prevents Timmy from walking out with his camera. Or someone do taking away from the bride and groom, especially the bride. Well, Timmy wasn't trying to do that. Right. But do you have an enforcer at your daughter's wedding?

No, I don't think I'll need it. I say the big German. Yes, Todd. There's a little electric fence along the aisles. Then when you look at the steps out of line, quick shocked.

Look at everybody's got to wear a collar. Yeah, why not? Okay, zap him. Better than like a dress getting ripped in the middle. Bradding California.

Hi, Brad. What's on your mind? Hi there. Good morning. Hey, I got an idea for you know how practice makes perfect.

Well, what you need to do is to rehearse the dinner at the rehearsal.

Do it over and over again and just get rid of all your tears.

Then.

Yeah, but I'm not responsible for the rehearsal dinner. I have to give the speech after the wedding at the actual ceremony. So when you go after the wedding. Yes, Todd. And it's not the same.

You could practice a game winning shot in the playground or in your backyard. But when it's actually time and everyone's there and you're in the moment. I'm sure that is not going to replicate practice. Yeah, because the reception and it's you're going to see people and they make the trip and it's. Oh, my god.

And then all of a sudden, you know, I felt I think I have stage fright.

I do. I think I might be diagnosed as having stage fright. And what it is is when I have the microphone and I hear my voice and nothing else. Something happens to me.

So I don't I never thought of it.

My life goes. Jeff stage fright. And I never thought of it. But if I. If I hear my voice on a microphone.

While other people may melt when they hear that for me. Yes. I'm like, oh my god. What, Todd? How is that possible?

You've given out Super Bowl troopers and all these events with hundreds of millions of people tuning in. Maybe like the last person or the planet I would think would have experienced something like that. But this is different. And I don't know what stage fright consists of. But if I'm, I don't know.

I can get emotional in a second. And it's, you know, I went to see Book of Mormon on Broadway. It's a comedy original cast. The original cast. Oh, see.

Yes. Josh Gad was in it. And they went to intermission and I'm crying. And my kids are in my wife. My wife is very short on emotion.

She goes, what is wrong with you? Like not nothing, you know, sympathetic. Like why is this affecting you? But I was alive performance. And there's just something about you see somebody doing it right in front of you.

It's not like, hey, take three eight take, you know, a concert. When you see people doing things in real time right in front of you. That gets me too. So I don't know if I have stage fright. But it, there's something that happens.

And I got my turn on that microphone. And I'm going to be at the rehears, or I'll be at the reception.

And that's why I'm going to bring my son up to interpret.

Yes, Paul. Or we could treat it like hosting sports center or football night in America. We get a IFB in your ear. We get you a script. A nice teleporter in the background.

And we'll give you a couple of highlights first.

Like Cubs card is bottom second. And then you switch right to the speech. Yeah. Because I was hosting the Olympics in London. And it was the last day hosting the Olympics.

And I remember thanking all of the people who were there. And I got emotional. Like it was weird. I'm like, damn. You know, I said, hey, I just want to show you all the people make, you know, all this, you know,

work and happen. And I, all of a sudden, I'm falling apart. And if I could cry and only have tears, I'd be okay. But when you have that gutterl, oh, my God, what's wrong with him? Yes, Todd.

But the word stage fright sounds like a terrible thing or a bad thing or a negative quality. But it's actually a very sweet thing that you're experiencing. No, no. You're rather not going through that type of emotion in the moment.

I think people, I, I know, I would appreciate seeing someone get that emotional over.

No, nothing like no, no, no, not at all. Stage fright in a good thing. No. Because I can't get through the speech. People understand what the, no, no, no.

How huge the moment is and how much it means to you. You know, you know what they're going to do. And to be like, I thought he spoke for a living. Like, what happened to him? Damn, I didn't know he cried.

We were at ESPN. I didn't even want to be at ESPN for that reunion. And I went to that reunion and sat up on the day us with Robin Roberts and Chris Burman and Bob Lee. And I started crying because I saw all those people that I worked with out the audience. And then Robin Roberts even said,

"Man, are you okay?" And I'm like, why am I crying? Get it together, Charlotte Absene. What's with all the tears? Yeah, you're a big baby.

Why don't you have those tears go back, back, back, back, back, back. You're not crying. Yes, Marvin.

Have you always been emotional like this?

Or has it become your thing later in life? I think it's later. But I don't know when it, no, I've had it for, I've had it for a while.

Yeah.

But I don't know why.

Although I come from a family of cryers, like they all cry.

Now I'm hoping all of them cry at my daughter's wedding and then I'll feel a little better. So I don't know if I can say to everybody, "Hey, before I start this speech, could everybody cry along with me?" They're going to be going, "That is wrong with that guy." And he used to be, "What is he good?"

Yeah, Paul. I'm really starting to think that video backup is the plague. Because then if you don't make it past syllable two, you just point. Like point to the big man. No, no, I'm pointing to my son. Okay.

I'll just say Jack, I'll have him and people say, "Wow, I think I got a son up there." And I'll say Jack's here to interpret. And then if I can't make it, and then I'll just fill in the blanks. You know, I'll come back for two or three words. And then I love you, and then I'll give it to him.

All right, take a break.

But I don't have to worry about that until August 15.

Not that I'm worried about that now. Yeah, see. What we should actually do is have you start attending. Yeah, we get, you get a lot of invites to weddings.

You should just go to those weddings and start balling.

I cried at the wedding of a friend of mine, and he gave the speech for his daughter and didn't cry. I figured that went out. And I'm like, "God, Jeff did a great job." Yes.

You're wife is still judging you about it. She's not a cryer, right? No, she's not. No, she's not. I'm sorry.

All right. Cry about it. Last call for phone calls. What we learn, what's in store tomorrow? Part Kellogg, our good buddy, special K they used to call him in high school.

Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?

Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F-1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He's still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Wag Getting change the paddock forever?

Break down that for me, my friend. I do think UCLA has a really good chance of getting back to the final four. Obviously, you kind of is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament.

But I'm the honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas.

Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon. And that right after that would be Texas. SBC is so deep and so thick and just about everything. I really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU.

Only once I could possibly upset Yukon. I'm flagrant and funny. We're giving our unfiltered take some of the big moments.

Todd had a this day in sports history that Wayne Gretsky scored

his 800 and second. What's wrong? Paul. That was my first one. Okay.

So Wayne scored his 800 and second goal to become the all-time goal score. Correct. In 1994 in this day. I have a hat commemorating Wayne Gretsky 802 that I got from somebody in Toronto.

And they sent me that long time ago. So I got Wayne O with 802. I knew it was going to come in handy one day. Cool. Thank you, Todd.

Thank you. Got a couple more. Luckily I do. Okay. Sports history 1971.

The Boston Patriots changed their name to the New England Patriots. Not sure why they did that. Well, now they own New England. They wanted that main demographic. Yeah.

He wanted New Hampshire and Maine and Vermont.

This is my favorite sports history line of all time on this website I use. 1972 Daredevil Evil Knievel broke 93 bones after successfully jumping. There's five cars. It's great word. And then yeah.

We're younger 1995 with the penguins first European born player to lead the NHL in score. I thought that you would have something in 1991, Paul. The first World League of American football games London beats Frankfurt. Sacramento beats Raleigh Durham and Montgomery beats Birmingham.

And he loves listening to you guys in the morning and senior. Okay. So with that being said, I have to say.

I've seen the picture of Todd Fritz earlier.

And he looked like the missing member of New Kids on the block.

With all that hair. No shirt. Look fly back in the day. I must say.

Well, you guys think I'll for taking my call.

Thank you. That's one of the greatest compliments you've ever wanted to see. Fantastic compliment. Oh, oh, oh, oh, the right stuff. Yeah.

Wish I was one of those guys. Pretty accurate, too. I'd definitely see that. Maybe old kids on the block. Okay.

Yes. Yes. But nobody is more clueless than you. That's fair. I get really good.

I'm right there. Yes. Bill and Jacksonville. I bill. What's on your mind today?

Best of the weekend. The winding gators. [laughs] And they wind all over the place. With the blaming the coaching.

Not the players who cares they lost. That was the best of the weekend. We can't worse than the weekend. The penguins. Worse again.

They couldn't afford to lose to Carolina.

All right. Thank you, Bill. Yeah. Look. I never coached.

But I played.

And I never would have put pressure.

While I'm in the lead. Because all it takes is if they beat the press. Now they have at least one person open for a shot. That can tie or win. Don't get it.

Tim and Nebraska. I Tim. What's on your mind today? Hi. Tim and Nebraska here.
