Hello and welcome to the DSR Daily.
Minestine and we've got a couple of weeks left in the summer and we're going to make the most out of them.
“We're going to look at what's going on and we're going to say how do we how do we find the”
positive in that? What is the upside? We're going to be optimistic. We're going to be enthusiastic. We're hello, hello, Riley, Menta, aren't we? Aren't we? I'm glad one of us are staying optimistic. Yeah, I don't know that our story is wreak of optimism, but it's also not who I thought it would be but I'm glad someone's doing it. I'm just proud. Well, all right, fine, fine, throw a story at me. Let's see if we can find something positive in it. President Trump announced plans to
to start a big start. Plants to scale back a joint U.S. South Korea military exercise, citing his positive relationship with Kim Jong-un and frustration over souls refusal to 80 U.S. efforts in Iran. Although South Korea confirmed that the annual freedom shield drills began on schedule, it remains unclear whether the scope of the training was reduced in light of the announcement. Move echoes, Trump's past efforts to cut defense costs and these tensions with North Korea,
while South Korea emphasizes ongoing commitment to maintaining a firm combined of defense posture. Well, let's see, what's positive in this? Well, Trump, at least, has been consistent. He's trying to blow up every major alliance that we have and he's betraying our friends on a regular basis. And he does remain committed to dictators and some of the most despicable people in the world. And his rationale for doing it is just as typically fucked up as everything else is, the idea that
we are going to take this vital alliance, which is crucial not only to South Korea, but also to Japan,
also to U.S. interests of the region. And we are going to weaken it and alienate this ally, because they wouldn't participate in Trump's crazy illegal war in Iran. "My God, oh my God, this is demented behavior." And the reality is that, you know, it just rolls off the ducks back of the United States because there's so much else stuff going on. And people are like, "Yeah, well, you know." This would have been unthinkable.
“The president of the United States effectively said, "I think I'll take the North Korean side.”
I think I like the North Koreans better." I think I like this demented dictator who runs the world's most repressive state, better than our South Korean allies who's story of growth and freedom and development has been a world-changer and benefited us and everyone else enormously. See, did I find anything good in that? Hmm. No. I failed. Okay. Look, I'll try better. I'll try harder the next time. Let's go, Mera. Yes, your mission should you choose to accept,
is to find something positive in this next story. Yeah, oh by the way, can I add one other thing? And this is going to piss off a bunch of people starting with Riley because, you know, like, when Norm on Friday started attacking Hassan Piker on our show, I said, "Well, you know, he's got a lot of supporters out there." I think, you know, I'm not like a big fan of his, some of the things he says and does are good,
some of the things he says and does are kind of stupid because he really doesn't know what he's talking about. Did you see what he said about this, Riley? No. Yeah, he said he thought he kind of agreed
with Trump on this. Yeah, his foreign policy is always pretty bad. Yeah, that's not to really
pay much mind to what he says on foreign policy. Yeah, now having said that, by the way,
“I don't go along with this kind of establishment-dem thing of taking the worst thing somebody says”
or the most extreme example of a bad policy and saying, "Therefore, we cannot be progressive." You know, just because Hassan Piker is wrong about some things, doesn't mean he isn't right about some things. You know, somebody asked to keep Jeffries over the weekend about Democratic Socialists. And he said, "Well, I'm not for defunding the police." You know, you know, I, you know,
I was like, what kind of bullshit scare-mongering bad leadership is this?
where we have to find what our shared values are, our shared objectives are, and we need to work
“together towards those, recognizing that we do not agree on everything. But I just wanted to add this,”
because I thought, you know, Hassan Piker coming out and saying, "Oh, yeah, Trump's got this one right. Was wrong, wrong, wrong, and we got to call it like we see it." You know, if the progressives are wrong, we call it, and obviously if Trump and Meg are wrong, we call it. Anyway, sorry, Mina, and no, you're going to get into one good positive upbeat story. All right, well, let's see if you can find all of those things in this story. Yeah. Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that
the Justice Department may appeal to the Supreme Court after losing 22 federal court cases over its effort to force states to hand over sensitive voter-ruled data. The lawsuit stems from a White House executive order directing states to submit detailed voter records, including driver's license and social security numbers, to investigate potential non-citizen registration, and effort opposed by both Democrats and Republican state leaders. Additionally, Blanche addressed concerns
about his confirmation and independence, insisting you will act with integrity after rough start,
and declaring that a controversial $2 billion anti-weaponization fund proposed in a settlement with
Trump is "dead." Yeah, but did he say that? He didn't really say that, did he? As far as the weaponization fund goes, he says, "Well, I can't promise we won't be paying these January six people stuff because they have to write to sue the U.S. government for anything and then they can win their cases." But, you know, I'm going to have a hard time finding the good in this, except perhaps
“that, well, I do not trust the Supreme Court, and I believe that if any Supreme Court could twist”
the Constitution and get this wrong, it would be this one. I still think they're not going to get this one wrong, because the Constitution's very clear that elections are the province of the states. It only way that this could be twisted and argued that it is something where the federal government should have access to these roles is if there were some real national security case for it. They will try to make that. I don't think it will hold water. So, I guess what is good in this story
is that I still have a glimmer of hope that the Supreme Court will not do everything possible to destroy democracy, just a lot of the things possible to destroy democracy. But, listening to Todd Blanche on the Sunday morning shows was nauseating, because this guy is clearly just a fascist helper, and he's there, and, you know, he said, "Well, you do what the president says, and will you be independent?" And he's like, "No, I'll do what the president says. I won't be independent."
And when they said it, "Well, the president, what if he asked you to do something unethical?"
He said, "He would never do that." The most corrupt president in our history, a man who almost
never does something. That's the right thing. Who almost always does the wrong thing. The Todd Blanche is, you know, in New York mob trials. I was used to refer to the lawyer for the mob boss as that mouthpiece. Todd Blanche is Trump's mouthpiece. And, you know, this is a very grim development that Republicans in the Senate voted for. And I think we have to
“remember that. This is not just about Trump or Blanche or the Supreme Court. Every single Republican”
on Capitol Hill is playing a role that's dismantling American democracy in justice, brick by brick. All right, Riley, what do you have? because you was a game. Jared, I just tormenting me anyway, go on. It's not us. We're just reporting
“the facts. Yeah. That's right. Just the facts, man. Okay. Jared Kushner is meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu”
and Hamas leaders to advance a fragile Gaza ceasefire in a 15-it-point peace plan that Israel has thus far rejected. This diplomatic push faces fierce opposition from Netanyahu's far-right coalition partners, notably National Security Minister Ben Gavir, who recently condemned the peace efforts and called for a continued target killings and mass emigration from Gaza. These strange negotiations are taking place amidst ongoing deadly strikes in Gaza and escalating violence in
a West Bank, where the U.S. Ambassador recently condemned Israeli settlers, besieging a Palestinian
band. Yeah. Yeah. Let's not play that story. He didn't really condemn them. He like didn't
“condemn them. And then at the end, he was forced to condemn them, but it was brief and he went back”
to supporting these maniacs that run the Israeli government. And, you know, this guy Ben Gavir, you know, he's as bad a human being as there is on the planet. And I don't know, you know, maybe it's a tired old trope these days to compare the Netanyahu government to the Nazis because it's such a stark contrast and it makes everybody's head exploded. But Ben Gavir,
over the weekend, said we should kill 30 to 40 of these Palestinians a day. Just to send a message
to them. It advocated race-based murder. And he's as bad as, you know, anybody else who's ever advocated for that, whether they were a Nazi or whether they were in the Khmer Rouge or whether they were working for Joseph Stalin or whether they were working for Mao Zeytong. He's bad news. And Netanyahu supports it and Trump supports it. And you know, who else supports it? And who's been the big backer of these guys and who helped ensure that Netanyahu's message got through and that
we fought this ridiculous debilitating war in Iran. Jared Kushner, who is so pro-Israel that nobody from a mosque could possibly meet from him and think that he was going to be an honest broker on this whole thing. So will Jared Kushner's outreach to Hamas prove to be anything constructive? No, it won't. No, it won't. We will make very little progress on all of this. By the way, Jared Kushner seems to be very busy working on behalf of the OS government,
but he's filed none of the paperwork. He's filed none of the documents disclosing his financial interests. He's doing this in a completely illegal way and he's failing every place he goes. It's a real kind of trifecta, Trump trifecta. It's corrupt and it's not working and the world knows it and thinks less of us for it. Men, it did, did somebody really online suggest that you were my granddaughter? Because whoever you were, log off. Okay, log the fuck off. It's not that I wouldn't want
to be related to men. She is lovely and brilliant and great. But she's like 50 years old. How could she possibly be my granddaughter? Every day is bring your granddaughter to work day around these parts. Oh my god, my god, yes, I admit it. I have grandchildren. One of them's one. The other one's three. Okay, men is not one or three. Why is my age a source of such amusement to everybody here? Why do people laugh at me, men? I'm really sorry. This is happening to you. Thank you. Thank you.
Well, I think they're laughing at you too in a weird way. Yeah. I don't think anyone thinks that I'm
“I'm 26 and that's why I'm your granddaughter. I think it's because they think I'm”
a child. They're just a very tacky person. I don't get that. I don't get that. I don't get that. I mean, okay, folks, men as a full grown adult. She has degrees for universities. She's achieved many things in her life. When Albert Einstein was Minna's age, he came up with the theory of relativity. When T.S. Eliot was Minna's age, he was writing the wasteland. When Alexander the Great
Was Minna's age, he was conquering the world.
dead seven years. Okay, that's that's that's that's what I'm saying about old Minna. Okay, and to try to be all did all of those things before the age of 12. Yeah. Really impressive when you think about it. Exactly. Okay, okay, let's let's let's let's go there.
“All right. Well, I think this is a game because I'm going to challenge you yet again to find”
something positive in this story because my climate change anxiety is through the roof right now.
Lake Powell, the second largest reservoir in the U.S. has fallen to a record low of 3,519
feet above sea level reaching an alarming milestone just a week after Lake Need also hit historic lows. The rapid depletion driven by a chronic overuse, a record dry winter and rising temperatures leaves Lake Powell only 30 feet away from the threshold where its turbines can no longer generate hydroelectric power. In response to the growing crisis across the Colorado River system, federal officials have proposed a 10-year plan that could impose major water cuts on Arizona,
California and Nevada, a state struggle to agree on a long-term management strategy.
“Well, I think you got to start by believing in climate change, right, which our president doesn't”
narrow Secretary of the Interior doesn't and, you know, the people in our government don't. So that's that's one of the problems we hear here. We are suffering, you know, they're having this problem around the world. The Danube River is that it's lowest level every, you know,
their ships at the bottom of the Danube people are seeing for the first time their rivers and
lakes around the world that are just drying up and we are heading into what could be a very, rough few months of following off of a kind of a big El Niño phenomenon. But will Donald Trump make the move to reduce the flow of water to golf courses across the American West? I think not. I think he'd rather have a golf course free year than, you know, a safe, secure environment for Americans after he's dead.
That's that's the way our president works. Anyway, Riley. Well, I'm going to end us on a really strong bike, but this is my great grandson, Riley, by the way. I just turn nine, turn nine, three times great. Yeah, go on. Well, you can, you can surely find something positive in this one, because president Trump's crypto venture world liberty financial is collaborating with Hong Kong based World Club, an AI platform that accepts world liberty tokens is payment. I might be wondering
who the hell cares? But what the interesting part is that nearly half of World Clause available AI models are developed by Chinese tech companies that the US government has flagged for national security risks and intellectual property theft and ethics experts argue the financial partnership creates a conflict of interest as the Trump family stands to profit from Chinese technology while the administration publicly maintains a firm stance against Chinese tech threats.
Riley, you're so innocent because you think that's the only problem here. The administration is announcing today an effort to make our allies around the world choose between our AI and China's AI. Even as the Trump family is doing the opposite. So in that respect, it's just a beautiful example of conflict of interest with this president. However, you know what else happened over the weekend and I'm surprised he didn't just stick it there into your story there, Riley,
to add a little bit of a twist. Over the weekend, you know, while people were not paying attention, the US government agreed to allow World Liberty financial to be a bank to set up its own bank to have the rules and protections of a banking organization. Even though we don't know who the
“money is coming from within it, we don't know where it's flowing. And, you know, where does this lead?”
Will they some days come to the US government for a bailout for protection after, you know, all the Trump schemes go upside down? There was a report this weekend that Trump has made
in last year, 2025, 2.2 billion dollars as president. I mean, you know, there's not even a contest
in terms of the level of corruption that represents. And of it, 1.4 billion was made off of crypto
Ventures, which by the way, in his last term in office, Trump was against bec...
he thought they, you know, were a front for corruption, which they are. But now that he can make
“money off of it, he's for it. So there will be a lot of stories about World Liberty financial,”
and if the Democrats win in November, if we have elections in November, well, you know, it's quite
possible that World Liberty financial is going to get investigated in ways that are going to
“make people real, darn, uncomfortable. And that's good news. I've arrived at some good news,”
if we win, if there are elections, then there may be investigations where may turn, they may be
held accountable. At least we can cling to that as we look forward to the week, the week in which we will have other things we usually have here. And we will help you through the last couple of weeks of the summer. Until then, thanks, Riley. Thanks, dearest granddaughter. And she's not. Okay, she's not. She's this Christ. I'm nowhere nearly old enough for it to be. I look at me. Look at me, how vigorous I am, how youthful. This is like a map well in shirt or something like that. I mean,
that's like trend is so adult. You know what I'm saying on our Friday live show where we do a DNA test to prove that we did. Yeah, yeah, do that. Join us on our Friday live show. All right,
“everybody. You should set aside noon on Friday when we do this live show. It's great and people love”
that and we're getting great feedback and you don't want to miss. Anyway, until then, see you soon. Bye bye, it's hot top for now.
