Wow, it's with you for a year in the third star.
A couple of years after the high school. I don't think I want to live like that. Stream up to the 13th April, parallel to the US star, which is actually a new episode. The problem is...
And you're talking with the devil. There's no need for it. Before I leave, I'll go home as a house on the dragon and wake up. All of it's only two Euro and 90 in a month. Streaming won't be so wow.
[Music] Hello and welcome to DSR Daily. I'm David Rothkopf.
βI'm joined by Riley Fessler and Menestine.β
It's Juneteenth.
Happy Juneteenth, everybody.
Happy Juneteenth. Juneteenth, where are celebrating a moment of American insight, a moment of American freedom? A moment where America thought it was heading in a better direction. Are we still heading in that direction?
I don't know. Let's talk to Men and Riley about it. I'm going to say no. I'm at Ann about a little bit of evidence. Okay.
Well, that's refreshing. All right. Go ahead. So, of course, my first piece of evidence. Intense overnight fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
Well, I thought that was supposed to stop. There was peace. This is the least shocking news story. Yeah. We've done since yesterday.
Yeah. Yeah. That's true. All right. Yes.
Go ahead. This fighting has brought the newly signed U.S. Iran. Peace accord to the brink of collapse.
Much like it was yesterday forcing the total post-pomit of critical technical talks in Switzerland
after Iran boy caught at the summit. While their interim agreement has successfully dismantled the U.S. naval blockade, allowing over $12.5 million of oil to transit the straight-aporn moves on Wednesday. Tehran has sparked fresh friction by establishing a new maritime authority signalling its intent to charge transit fees.
The survival of the entire peace framework now hinges on whether mediators can calm the violence and Lebanon for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, assist on maintaining a permanent military security zone, despite President Trump's demand for a multi-front ceasefire. Yeah. I don't know.
Folks, you know, we've done some good analysis on this here. Deal. A quote, quotation marks, echo deal. Over the past couple of days with some real experts. And I hope you go and listen to that.
There's some evidence that you are. And that's good. But, you know, the mainstream media was like peace deal, which it wasn't. The independent media was bad deal. But that was wrong in one key respect.
You know what that respect was, guys? That it was a deal. There's no deal. It can't be a deal if part of it is to stop fighting in Lebanon and the parties till the fighting in Lebanon don't want to stop.
It's not really a deal if Donald Trump says as he did in social media overnight tonight or last night. Well, you know, if this negotiation doesn't work, we'll just go back to killing them in 60 days, which, by the way, is a direct violation of the terms of the deal, which said there will be no threats. It can't be a deal if Iran has said independently.
Okay, we're going to go and charge tools. Now, the deal says they might be able to do that, but they're getting ahead of the game there. It's not really a deal, even JD Vance. That pillar of wisdom and insight. A man from America's heartland, a hillbilly hero for us all.
JD Vance said, well, maybe there's some side deals here that you don't know about them.
βWhich, you know, I mean, either we know what the deal is or we don't know what the deal is, right?β
So JD's not going to Switzerland, the talks aren't going to really happen. The deal is on the rocks, Netanyahu is pissed off. Frankly, the Israeli people are pissed off, which I think shows real problem with Israel. The data they bought into the argument that the big existential threat to Israel is Iran. The big existential threat to Israel comes from within Israel.
There will be an election this fall, and BB will lose, but BB will lose to so...
I would point out that, you know, if you follow Trump's logic about missiles, which was, well, the Saudis have missiles, so the Iranians ought to be able to have missiles.
But you might also conclude that, because the Israelis have nukes, the Iranians ought to have nukes. Remember, this is imbalanced, but not in the direction that everybody says it is unbalanced. Anyway, this thing is not looking much like a deal to me except in one respect. And that is both sides want the fighting to stop and both sides want the oil to start going through the straight.
βSo it could be that what we're in for is a long period of finger pointing and complaining, but no fighting and oil going through the straights, because that's what they really want.β
Yeah, does that make the world a safer and more stable place? No. And does Iran need the money that the US has promised it in order to, you know, keep functioning yet does. And if this thing looks like the rangity S, less than it is, is that bad for Trump and the Republicans, yeah, it's bad for Trump and the Republicans. So I don't know, maybe they will find other ways to pay for over parts of this, but I'm going to tell you the Israel factor. Maybe, maybe, rather, he's going to talk about that a minute.
I sure am, and I'm going to talk about our pillar of wisdom, J.D. Vance. Mr. Western, our hillbilly hero, I like the comb. I mean, that's a good one. Do I still have his book on my shelf? I don't think I can do it. I don't really, I don't really, I don't know if you will. Well, I had to read that book for college. You come on. Yeah.
You weren't in college when that came out. Yes, I do. Fuck you. I'm going to go kill myself. You weren't college when that book came out. And I've been a, I've been a J.D. Hader since the school, because that was before he was running for politics and came out as a Republican. And I still, and I read his book.
I don't like this, I don't like this fellow. Well, for you, good for you, Raj. J.D. Vance, Hader, hipster.
βYou are a Hader, hipster, Jen, Z, or possibly, are you Jen Z or Jen Alpha, your Jen Z?β
I think I'm Jen Z. Yeah, your Jen Z. So on my favorite memories are bullying him when the trailer for his movie came out. And it was just so trash and everyone was just dog. But it was like, explain to me how Ron Howard Glenn Close, Amy Adams, all that sucked into doing that shit movie. I think Glenn Close won a Razzie in an Oscar for the same role in that movie.
She didn't win an Oscar because she has never won an Oscar, except she is for the wife.
She has now been given an honorary Oscar because she's never won. The need must be nominations that I'm just kind of a participation trophy. It is a participation trophy. I'm surprised you didn't win for Curella to go. Yeah, well, you're back in the eyes.
That was, that was. That was the 90s.
βNo, how could Emma Stone have been in it if it was in the end days come by.β
Glenn Close played a live action crawl in the 90s. But you made that was before the one with that one. Yeah, that was before Emma Stone. Oh, yeah, you're right. Oh, because the Emma Stone one had what's in it?
Emma Thompson. And. Thank you. The one of the two, I don't know. I don't remember. I only saw once.
Yeah, man is making a confused face. You know what I mean? The one who was, you know, the great pillar of British act. In 101 Dalmatians? No.
Oh, my God. Well, we're getting off base. I'm going to drag us. I'm going to drag us back to JD Vance. But we're really here to discuss because JD Vance strongly rebuked Israeli officials for criticizing a new US broker
Deal aimed at ending the war again. Deal and quotation marks.
Here, reminded the critical cabinet members that the US funds the majority of their defense, and that President Trump remains Israel's only powerful global ally.
Despite these warnings Israeli leaders maintained their opposition to the pact, arguing it fails to address Iran's nuclear threats, dangerously limits Israel's military operations against Hezbollah and women. It's just a baby kind of deserves to be lectured by JD. Because, you know, just sort of, let's put him in a room. You know, these are two of the world's most annoying dangerous people. Let's just have them lecture each other.
For eternity, Al-A, Jean-Paul Sartre's play.
We close.
No exit.
Where you'd four people are stuck in our six people are stuck in a room and talking till the end of time.
More importantly, the movie was Cruella. And it was Emma Thompson starring alongside Emma Stone. That was a good, good, deep cut. Well, it wasn't deep cut. Look, I don't want to leave this on the table.
[laughter] Oh, there's a demand to know. Emma Thompson.
βThey wanted, do you think they want to hear more about JD Man?β
You know, I mean, except JD Man, it's just telling the truth, by the way. It happens very rarely. But Donald Trump is the only friend Israel's got. You know, and he's kind of pissed off right now. I have this sort of in the back of my mind, like, you know, if BB keeps doing this,
and this thing comes unraveled, and the Republicans get deeper hot water, and Trump loses more and more control of his emotions. Well, Trump do what ultimately both the left and the right want him to do, which just cut ties with Israel. Well, Trump be the one to actually deliver the blow,
because BB desperate to stay in power is fucking over Trump. If only these two guys could fuck each other over without destroying the lives of millions of people. You know, it would just be a better world.
βYou know, John Wolfstall, our friend who did two of the podcasts this week analyzing this,β
had a blue sky post up this morning saying,
you know, with the cost of the war being estimated by the Pentagon at 80 billion dollars or something like that,
that, you know, we could have saved that money with, you know, a better negotiation. And I responded to it saying, we could have, first of all, there's another estimate out today that the total cost of the war, direct cost may be 130 billion, but the indirect cost may be as much as a trillion. And so what I said was you could save maybe a trillion dollars if Donald Trump had only admitted he was wrong
and that the JCPOA Obama's deal was fine. All he would have to do is say, you know, I was wrong about that. Save a trillion dollars, thousands of people alive in Iran, thousands of people alive in Lebanon, thousands, millions of people not suffering with high prices. And it's all because Donald Trump is a being as violent about Barack Obama.
He can't stand that a man of color could have success in America. It's so inconsistent with his deeply racist views. And his personality is so fucked up. If only Donald Trump's mother had loved him. You know, how much better would we all be off?
How much better off would we all be? Only if only we got a lot of if only floating around in here today. Maybe we should move on to the next story. I hate to interrupt this thrilling podcast, but we have some exciting news at the DSR network. Our Substack is now live.

We have a lot of things coming that we're thrilled to share with you in the future. We appreciate your support and thank you for listening. Now back to the show. A localized flu outbreak has struck the Air Force Base training facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Leaving at least 159 recruits.
Well, how could that happen? We have a flu vaccine manner. How could we have that open? What? It's interesting that you should say that because this is all following a major policy shift. That was that happened in April by Defense Secretary Pete Heggsecht. Heggsecht, which ended the military's 80-year-old mandatory vaccination policy and caused
crude immunization rates at the base to plummet from nearly 100% to 40%.
First of all, I'm not so sure I've been in love with the idea of a military where so many members of the military
are either that stupid or they're afraid of a little tiny needle. That doesn't get sent the message of the world's best fighting force. But Pete, as rhymes with defeat, Heggsecht, the man who owns this huge catastrophic defeat to Iran,
Called by former Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman at unconditional sur...
And she was one of the ones who negotiated the JCPOA.
Pete is just killing it. And when I say killing it, I don't mean it in a good sense. I mean Pete is killing the Department of Defense literally with policies like this. And you are right that there is an 80-year-old policy about people having to get vaccinated, but you want to know something else?
I think you know this.
βWho originated the policy that members of the military had to be vaccinated?β
Show of hands. Somebody did they teach you that, Riley, and your hillbilly allergy class? No, we only talked about the glory of JD Vance. Yeah, the glory of JD Vance. Well, you know who initiated the policy?
George friggin Washington.
It was George Washington who realized that if you want effective fighting force, they should be vaccinated against diseases. So JD Vance is going against a lot of tradition. I mean, excuse me, Pete, as rhymes with defeat, hegg said, is going against a lot of history and a lot of tradition.
By the way, JD Vance and Donald Trump and RFK Jr, they're all behind this. They're all supporting this. It's not just here. Of course, the war in vaccines continues elsewhere. Other people are dying.
There are measles outbreaks. There are outbreaks of tuberculosis.
There are people who are not going to get vaccines that have been developed
because of the insane corruption and ignorance of this administration. They're killing us, killing us every day in different ways. Well, look at some news from the UK. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy, this should be boring. Security, decisive parliamentary, special election and victory in maker field,
but comfortably defeating the anti-immigration reform at UK party. You may be asking, why is this important? I'm just going to ask you.
βI'm just going to say, Riley, why is this important?β
Because I'm not feeling it right now. Well, he immediately signaled his intent to use his seat to challenge the battle and deeply unpopular here, Stormer, for leadership of the party. While Stormer has vowed to fight any attempt to outspam a Burnham's resounding win has intensified internal party pressure
for the Prime Minister to step down. There is some very area that McBeth reference here about Burnham wood or the down for the prophecy that exists in McBeth about the end of McBeth. But I don't think Cure Stormer is anywhere near as bad as McBeth was. Or frankly, as interesting as McBeth was.
And it's hard to stay interested in British politics. All I can say is the established party is in the UK have failed. And the consequences have been the rise of a maga-like party. This reform party that has got to be stopped. Remember, they, though same people, Nigel Farajitz over there,
the ones that led to Brexit, which is one of the most catastrophic decisions made by any developed country in not in a time of war that we've ever seen. So, you know, maybe this is a positive sign. Maybe there will be some kind of new leadership. We certainly can hope for that everywhere.
We live in a moment, crying out for new leadership. So, I'm surprised you didn't mention Zoro Mardani's incredibly inspiring speech. At the next celebration yesterday. I mean, come on. I mean, I didn't hear about that.
I also heard that the next owner shaded him a little bit as well. But the next owner is a fucking asshole. Dolan wants to take all the next, the White House, he loves Trump. He's the one who brought Trump there. He's one of the most hated and reviled owners in the business.
He's a sleazy little sleaze ball. And hopefully the next will tell him all the good jump in a lake. And, by the way, the Tisha James, the much loved attorney general of New York State, made a statement saying, "Hey, guys, you don't have to go to the White House with him. He can't make you do this."
And, you know, essentially saying, "I got your back if you tell him to go fuck up." So this will be interesting to watch how that plays out.
βDoes this have a lot to do with the political race in Maker Field England?β
No. But I thought it was interesting. One final story for today. U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer announced yesterday that the United States.
That's a guy with a track record.
Trade policy in the Trump administration. That's something he's going to go around the rest of his life. Remember those illegal tariffs?
βAnd remember how we fucked up the world economy?β
That was me. Yeah. Well, here's one more to add to the list. The U.S. has launched a section 301 trade investigation into a German plan to cut domestic spending on pharmaceutical products, assessing whether the proposal is unreasonable or discriminatory towards
American companies. The probe targets a sweeping health overhaul introduced by the German Ministry of Health in April,
aimed at closing a 20 billion euro funding gap, which initially included variable pharmaceutical discounts
before facing heavy industry pushback. What are we doing folks? What are we doing? These guys are so incompetent. I would just, I'd like to do a whole show.
Maybe next Friday. Let's just devote the whole show to the big successes of the Trump administration that have made all our lives better. You know what I want to do that? Because I'd like summer Fridays off.
βAnd that would be a great way to get there.β
Every Friday for the rest of the summer, we're just going to tell you what Trump administration is doing that's good.
It's going to be a real short five second podcast.
Man, it will get on every day and say, "Uh, we didn't come up with anything. See, I have a good weekend." It's a good idea, right? I would love it. I would love Fridays off.
Yeah. Yeah, all we have to do is have balance. If I could be the, I could be the very right of DSR and seek balance. Please know. Please know.
Proud to announce that Nick Fuentes is a new contributor. This year. DSR networks. You heard it here first. That's a great idea.
I would not seize child.
So we could have one or both of the tapes.
Hi, you know, welcome to Tater tots. The new podcast with the tapes on sex trafficking. That's balanced. A barren could join the high. I'm barren Trump.
I love the tapes.
βWe're going to get them off the hook because, you know, what?β
We love sex traffickers. That's one of the main groups that has benefited from the Trump administration. Oh, they can do the Friday show. Sex traffickers. Pardon January six criminals.
Pardon white collar criminals. Autocrats from around the world. CEOs of companies that have paid for the ballroom. Who now got regulatory benefits. Other kinds of donors.
Jelaine Maxwell. Every week we can have somebody on who's benefited from the Trump administration. I don't know. You might be on to something here. Yeah.
I don't know. I'm not. I'm not. It doesn't happen. Anyway, well, look, folks.
It's the weekend. And we're letting you off the hook. Go. Enjoy the weekend. I don't think about any of this stuff.
Don't think about us. Well, you can go listen to some of our other podcasts. We got some big ones. And we'll see you on Monday. Bye-bye.
