We've had Master Chef royalty in the kitchen before, but no one like this.

All the way from Sunny California, please welcome them to Master Chef Australia. The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle!

That's the nurse version of welcoming Meghan Markle anywhere and welcome to the nerve.

Hello and welcome to your Tuesday edition of The Nerve. I am your host,

Maureen Callahan. We have so much to begin the week with. First, Oprah and what we hear at The Nerve

Suspect is very likely another decoy to throw Teddy and trouble off of the Stedman Trail as any of you subscribers to our Substack know and saw Teddy was speeding himself down to North Carolina for Stedman's alleged live appearance this weekend and we had trouble makers in attendance. As far as we know, Teddy is having trouble texting me, he doesn't have a possible thumbs. It takes him a while to figure it out. He's a very industrious guy.

Nonetheless, this piece of footage you're gonna die when we give you the whole story.

Then we've got the latest and these are bombshells. These are just the erupting bombshells

that we will be discussing as the week progresses here on the nerve regarding none other than Prince Harry and the Duchess of endless despair and grievance one Meghan Markle. We are also going to talk about the Odyssey, how that did in its opening weekend and why it matters. Then we've got an update on two new cultural offenders, woodshedded, woodshedded, one well well on route to the wood shipper and another death in its slow, but it's steady in the mainstream

celebrity media industrial complex and further proof of why the nerve is needed now more than ever. Are you ready? Are you ready? Let's go!

Does your makeup routine feel complicated, involved, takes too long to do? Do you find yourself

layering on products to try to get a natural look only for the result to look cakey especially as the day goes on? There is an answer. Miracle bomb by legendary makeup artist Bobby Brown. Head to JonesRoadBeauty.com use code nerve at checkout after you buy. They will ask you where you heard about them. Please

support our show. Tell them you're a trouble maker and that the nerve sent you. trouble makers. When this video appeared in my feed on Sunday, I looked at it. I looked at it again and again concluded it was not AI. Sent it to Marlena and said we need to carbonate this. We need to assess its origins and it's a good thing we did because we are going to see Oprah Sant and her natural habitat. Her one-time natural habitat, I should say, Sandwiched between

her life partner, Stedman Graham ostensibly and her other who I would consider her real life partner,

Gayle King who makes an effort to get herself in this shot.

how old it is. This is a guitarist performing live in front of Oprah blocking Stedman

at a white tablecloth restaurant where else would she be dining certainly not like chilies or

McDonald's but what was shocking about that is you know when something like that gets dropped into your feed on Instagram. It's usually a very recent piece of footage. Sneaky Sneaky Sneaky. This was originally published by the musician it seems and/or people magazine because people magazine is in coats with many criminal cultural offenders. I mean Meghan Markle is just one. Original published at June 7th 2024. Nice try Oprah. We know that if you are not watching the nerve,

somebody on your team is pushing you the clips that have to do with you. Not to worry we're going to have Mark Bowden on soon enough to examine this and other body language. Marlene, she was so funny, she was just like look at Oprah. She just looks bored out of her mind. She's shaking her head back and forth just tolerating the presence of this lump to her what right to her left. I don't even her left. We see you Oprah, we see you now. We got this among many priceless pieces of art from

Paul from New Zealand. Paul and Pam, I know I owe you emails and I owe you feedback. But we wanted to show this one in particular because I laughed out loud when I saw it. Here it comes.

Teddy in his best Sherlock Holmes drag holding his magnifying glass. He is never happier.

Truly, I think that part of the reason we have had trouble, I should say Teddy. I love him. But

in this day and age, he's been having a lot of trouble finding stuff. Sometimes I wonder if whether it's subconscious or not Teddy doesn't really want to find Stedman. Maybe Teddy is just enjoying the hunt. I don't know. Anyway, we will get updates from this weekend in North Carolina. Now, moving on, Harry and Meghan explosive reporting over the weekend in the Daily Mail plus

by my colleague Allison Boschoff. The headline, Harry never wanted to be estranged, but he was

madly in love. Now the veil is lifting. Key words. He was madly in love. He was just my interpretation. That seems to me to indicate that Harry is no longer madly in love if he is or remains in love. Just my interpretation followed by now the veil is lifting. That is probably a Britishism for what we in America would say the scales have fallen from his eyes. Now, Harry's beginning to see the truth. Now is this timing interesting? Of course it is. We will discuss all of the nuances

from Allison's piece as to why the Sussexes quote American dream is over published July 17th, 2026. I quote a source who is less sympathetic to the Sussexes says that they suspect a different kind

of cooling may lie behind their their most recent maneuvers. I believe that's implying the meeting

they had about a week and a half ago with King Charles and Queen Camilla. These are the reports. It was Harry. It was Meghan and it was the two children Archie and Lilibet. The money quote from Allison's piece at the mail plus the source said open quote, "I don't think he's ever wanted to be estranged from his family." I think when he was madly in love with Meghan, he could be blind enough to choose her. Now things are different and the veil is lifting.

I call him down this over at the mail plus on Monday. It's still sort of extrapolating, interpreting, you know, there are multiple things happening here but among the the most pressing

I believe their money has just about run dry. They have a mortgage on their $14 million

Montesito estate.

Now that has that and then you've got upkeep on the Montesito estate and then you've just got

expenses and the way that they like to travel the loss of private jets that celebrity friends who are no longer maybe friends would loan to them. They're declining value in the global marketplace. America has thoroughly rejected these two. It doesn't really surprise that Harry would decide that really now is the time to make a mens and when you hear the reporting that I'm going to

share with you from Meghan's preferred mainstream media outlet. It's going to I think the reaction

is outrage really because the reporting that this outlet gets usually comes straight from campsusics. My opinion, having done this since I was like a teenager, I know how this stuff works, just my opinion, before we get to that. GB News reports that Harry, this is again, this is how low these two have fallen. I didn't see any reports of this. Like on Monday, I was just sort of scrounging around early in the morning for anything that we may have missed over the weekend in preparation for our

first nerve of the week. GB News reports that Harry invited himself.

The desperation, the degradation, a prince of the blood who once had courteers to kindly send regrets for invitations such as this now Harry's inviting himself

onto podcasts. I think Harry probably invited himself to that NBA finals game. I do.

We're going to revisit something that Meghan invited herself to as well. This is a podcast hosted by one time English rugby star or I should say former English rugby star Joe Marler. And again, in yet more proof of how far Harry has fallen and I don't know how you climb your way back. As a one time royal, a one time working royal. I should say he's a prince of the blood.

He will always be a royal unless William strips the titles and even then I don't know the

nuances. That's it. GB News. Now this is a report by the way that has not really made it into the news

cycle. But this I think is truly just a reflection of how far Harry and Meghan have fallen.

And once upon a time, by the way, Harry would have had courteers in the palace fielding request like this and saying a sending polite regrets. Harry is following his wife's lead and inviting himself. Inviting himself per GB News onto a podcast hosted by for a one time. I should say sorry one time English rugby star Joe Marler. And this is truly indicative of not just Harry's desperation, but how far his royal currency has thought this is what

happens when you sell yourself out to the highest bidder Harry. This is what happens. Okay, welcome to trying to make a buck and not knowing how to control your own brand value. GB News reports that in behind the scenes footage while brainstorming with a co-host and I quote Mr. Marler, again, per GB News suggested asking the Duke open quote, "When was the last time you shut yourself?" Can you imagine? Can you imagine? When was the last time you shut yourself?

This is beyond mortifying beyond. And by the way, I checked that podcast front to back and ran through the transcript and that extract has been eliminated. Which tells me that Harry or someone on his team got in touch with Marler and said you have got to get rid of it. Thank God GB News caught it. Is the palace aware of this? The comments underneath Marler's episode are brutal. Brutal. They're all mocking Harry. They're mocking the show.

They're mocking what they perceive the viewers to be Harry's lack of intellig...

his inability to speak contemporaneously to banter with any level of wit,

sampling of this illuminating sparkling conversation published on July 13th, 2026,

Harry with Marler on the importance of God you've got to be kidding me. I mean, echoes of Jennifer Garner, you know, I teach my children that work doesn't have to be tedious. Talk to 99% of the population, okay? For whom work is tedious and a necessary thing in order to pay the bills. Keep the lights on and food on the table. Harry, what does he do all day? The guy no longer has a full-time job on the importance of, quote, finding the time, finding the

time to exercise and what my aside, the nodded all, homo erotic discussion to follow. Here we go. Exercise to sport and being able to find the time to take yourself somewhere, do something. Repetition is great. Have a routine. Boxing another thing that I really enjoyed. Just to level up any aggression out. That's the thing. Would you like to bump my tweet jacket onto? No, try it. I'm already just looking at you. It's not putting someone else's

sweat on, that's a joke. That's what they always do. It's like a team bonding thing

where they would like, you know, sweat it on with each other. Would sweat it on with each other? Yeah. Would sweat it on with each other? Yeah. Would sweat being in the changing, I know what happens. What happens? So that's the exclusive. I've been in the change of room. I know exactly what happened. What do you mean? I don't sweat on other people. I don't go off or up my sweat. I don't

go, do you want to jar off first of you? First of all, you're a forward, right? So you spend your

life sweating on other people and having other people sweat on you, right? So that becomes normalised you. So yeah, I was just about, if you feel like sweating got me, it's a safe space in your mode of work. And there we go. You want to change this for my point. You want to sweat on you. Oh, my God. Okay. That's enough. I'm so completely bored with these two imbecils talking to each other about sweat and who is sweating on who and who likes it. And by the way,

we've already earmarked that exchange for Mark Bodins imminent return as well. If you were listening, I'm going to explain two salient parts. Harry, for most of that, as as that exchange continues, he places one forearm and folds it over his torso slash chest while the other arm extends out as if

to keep Markler at a distance while protecting himself from Markler. And at a second point in that

exchange, when Harry says, well, sweating on people or having men sweat on you has become normalised to you. Marlar, an expression crosses his face, which I am, listen, I've been talking to Mark now for at least nine, ten months. I feel like I've picked up a few things if I may humbly claim. It was a look of contempt. It was a look of utter disgust. Like how dare you tell me what's

normal to me? Like I was a pro footballer. Who the fuck are you at this point? Who the fuck are you?

Late last week, this also found its way into my feet in real time. And when I watched it, you know, this is on, this is on the heels of what Harry's camp is crowing was a victorious week in the UK, despite him getting a major black eye by losing that lawsuit, the lawsuit in which my opinion he was attempting to destroy the Daily Mail. He had a private closed or meeting with his father and then Queen Camilla. And they were crowing that this was a win for the Sussexes, right?

That the all of branch has been extended reconciliation is happening. Perhaps even one could extrapolate the half-in half-out deal that the late Queen said was a no go, an utter impossibility to execute with any integrity whatsoever. After this win, Harry shows up, alone, you know, this is not the look of a victorious individual. His compartment is not one of a comfortable, confident, individual, let alone a royal. Here we're going to look at video of Harry.

This was published by page six on July 16th, 2026 wandering around the time 1...

Let's look at this. See him there in the center, an unknown woman puts her hand on him,

touches his arm and then he quickly walks off by himself, by himself. His back goes to the camera,

off he goes, okay, that's perfect. A few things. He doesn't seem to have a handler with him. And that's a humiliation. He should have somebody walking him through that room, being sort of the quote unquote body person to make sure that whoever is approaching Harry is known and or welcome to approach him. Number two, whoever this woman is, and it doesn't seem like he knows

her well, if at all judging by that body language, felt emboldened enough to touch him.

Did he really need to go? Again, like we want our privacy. We want our privacy. Sorry, you gave me an invitation to to a time 100 gala where I'm going to wander around by myself. Oh, my god. Now to Megan, Markle's latest quote unquote triumphant, the much-bally-hoed fourth coming episode of Master Chef Australia in which she guessed as a judge. Now the reporting was back when this actually happened in real time. The reporting out of Australia was that

Megan had invited herself onto Master Chef Australia as a guest. You know, most of us learn as very small children by our parents. If we were raised right, you don't invite yourself to places you have not been invited to. It's not just etiquette, it goes to self respect. These two don't have any. It's clear. Just my opinion premiering July 27th now the promo real is up and it may very

well be in your feed. If you are a troublemaker, I would bet it is. It's so demented. You have to look

at the lighting. The way we always say at the nerve, you have to listen to every single word that's

often chosen in any given celebrity statement or publicist statement. Here you have to look at the lighting, the stage craft, the camera work. They have deliberately positioned the camera beneath Megan below so that we the viewers are looking up at her as if an awe. But knowing the Australians, I'm going to guess that this is a troll. This is a troll and per Megan's reported on air request, she we have heard is going to ask the contestants if they can create a dish, quote, fit for a

Duchess. Let's watch. Let's enjoy this together as Megan Markle is introduced by an overly excited judge. Again, I can't tell if this is a troll or not. I would like to think so. I really would. Here we go. We've had Master Chef royalty in the kitchen before, but no one like this. All the way from Sunny California. Please welcome them to Master Chef Australia. The Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle!

Oh my god. It becomes, yeah, all done. I'm doing our best zoo lander. Look at me. In my drab army, all of green dress. Okay, do you know what this reminded me of immediately? Walking, Megan, struggling her way into the Balenciaga show last October. Another event to which she also invited herself. We will revisit the actual proof. Let's take a look at this. Okay, there she is in the back in the white. The rounded by two do security dudes in black. Look at this.

As I said at the time, she looks like a Sith Lord. I think whoever gave her that Balenciaga to

wear, it was a troll. It was a troll and speaking of before we get to the published proof that Megan invited herself to the Balenciaga show last October. Do you know what that particular walk of Megan's reminded me of? Take a look at this. I think that every time Megan Markle engages

In a catwalk, I would encourage any other content creator to lay down Darth V...

Imperial March by John Williams underneath it. Let's make this a meme in perpetuity in perpetuity.

She is, I believe, a dark, dark, dark force in the culture. Anyone who is a scholar of myth making

or star wars, whose red, Joseph Campbell and the power of myth knows that George Lucas, I believe. I don't know if George Lucas ever said this in particular, but Darth Vader is a play on dark father. And Megan Markle's just darkness, darkness, darkness, darkness. Anyway, from the cut from New York magazines, the cut by Alina Cho published October 11th, 2025, the headline, Pierre Palo, Picchio Lee, on Megan Markle, the new sackedress and his Blancy Agadabio. No, we only care about

Megan Markle. Question, Megan, the Duchess of Sussex, made a surprise appearance at her first

Paris fashion week show. That's a shift, by the way. She's been a Duchess for a long time. First, first Paris fashion week show. Wearing two custom looks, the question to Pierre Palo, how did that happen? His answer. And I quote, Megan and I met some years ago and we've been texting ever since. Money quote, she reached out and said she'd love to come to the show. Otherwise known as inviting oneself back to master chef Australia coming up in just a few days.

The nerve cannot wait to get to it. There are multiple reports that Megan alienated the

crew because of course she did. What is Megan Markle doing? If not, not getting invited to places and then inviting herself to places and then once being granted, I'm going to say a begrudging entry proceed to throw fits that she is not being treated the way she would like. I mean again, this is on a continent where it is well reported, well reported allegedly that in her very early days while working as a royal by marriage, that she threw hot tea on a staffer who displeased her.

If that is true, I mean she's a piece of trash anyway, we know it, but if that is true, she is a truly irredemable piece of trash, a grown woman in a position of power like that, throwing hot tea on an underling. Megan Markle reportedly, quote, frustrated, the word, quote,

royal was used during master chef appears, well why else is she there? Why else is she there?

April 20th, while it seemed like a very fitting introduction, a source told news Australia on Monday, April 20th, that the as ever founder and her team are quote, very frustrated, adding that they specifically made it clear that they did not want the word royal used. The source claims quote, they were outside the doors when it was filmed, so didn't know what had been said. Okay, so this source would have us believe that she and her team were quote, outside the doors on a

sound stage, a sound stage on which everyone is miced, a sound stage in which I'm going to guess there were monitors backstage in front of the state, like there monitors, there are monitors everywhere, excuse me, including in her green room so that she can see and hear everything that's

going on so that she enters that set, that sound stage, well prepared to begin again. You have to

speak extensively as a reality show. It's only scripted to a point, you know what I'm saying? So the claim is that Meghan and her team were outside the doors and they didn't hear anything. Okay, let's listen again to that intro and ask yourself, do you think it's likely that Meghan could not have heard anything here we go? We've had monster ship royalty in the kitchen before, but no one like this all the way from sunny California, please welcome to Master chef Australia,

the Duchess of Sussex, Megan Logo. Okay, that screen is too loud for me and I'm watching it.

Okay, that's not that's fine.

"Hey, how did she hear her intro? How did she hear her prompts to go in?" Do you know what I'm

saying? Like, you know, I think one of the things that is most frustrating about Megan Markle,

it's like if you're gonna lie, just be good at it. Just get better at it. You've been doing it long enough. Hey, just my opinion that one would think you'd be a professional by now. The royals were racist, Kate made me cry. You know, you know? Like, she's not any better. It's wild. This woman who's like, you know, I wasn't accomplished actors at one point. Like, part of being an accomplished actress is convincing people that you're not who you say you are.

And that what's coming out of your mouth is true that it's full of a, you know,

she's so terrible at everything. It's amazing. Megan Markle may be the best. I've said it before.

She's the best of being the worst. Best of being the worst. Who can forget this Harper's bizarre

cover story published November 19th, 2025 that went viral for one incredibly embarrassing reason. And we salute you, author, Caitlin Greenidge, because we suspect you, too, are a troublemaker from the piece called Megan's moment. This is the author. And I quote, "I met up with Megan a week later this was after meeting up with her in LA on a stormy day in New York. We're in a

grand brownstone on the upper east side that belongs to one of Megan's friends. When I enter,

the house manager announces, Megan, Duchess of Sussex, come on down, prices right, even though Caitlin writes, we appear to be the only other two people in the house.

Megan, very frustrated at producers after master shelf filming,

felt master chef filming this report published April 24th, 2026 again by news.com, A.U. Megan Markle. Megan and her team reportedly left, quote, very frustrated. Okay, we've dialed it up. We've gone from frustrated to very frustrated by master chef's production team who dared to accept her invitation to her as a buyer's elf to appear on their show after secretly filming a guest role on the series during her in Prince Harry's whirlwind visit to Australia last

week. The Duchess of Sussex quietly slipped off last Wednesday or whatever, whatever, whatever, okay, the problem seems to be that channel 10 which airs master chef Australia pushed out the promo. Apparently Megan wanted control of that. Listen, this operation by which I mean Markle's is so epic sloppy, she's got nobody of any quality working for her, not one, because that is the kind of stuff you hash out well before you ever set foot on that sound stage. That is the kind of stuff

that goes into writing into black and white into signed contracts. The rollout of the promotional materials, who gets to push out what when and who needs to sign off on the copy on the language, on the photos on the videos, but her shop is so cheap and slap dash and sloppy that this is what you get sister. This is what you get there. Now, there are also reports that Megan has dumped her one time quartz denographer slash lap dog, oh, it's goby. There's more on this and other

explosive, explosive reports regarding the Sussexes coming up this week on the nerve. Next, the Odyssey's opening weekend, what it means, reaction to the mini and an update on the subject of that whipping, another cultural offender who we touched on last week, but as we've received more materials, it deserves a deeper, a deeper look that, again, most of the mainstream media just won't give you, won't give you and will tell you why. And we come to Barry not to praise another

one time titan of entertainment media that is now dying. As the nerve rises, we do not think and we say this with all humility that these things are unrelated. Trouble makers in the nerve,

Moving the culture we are back in a minute.

currently housed offenders, let's talk about the Odyssey. This is fascinating to me. The

Odyssey broke expectations. It broke predictions. It was predicted to do about 80 million domestically

on opening weekend. The Hollywood Reporter headline. The Odyssey ceases 124.5 million opening in box office triumph. This was published July 19th by Ryan Gadjewiske. If I'm saying your name right, Ryan, please forgive me if not. The Odyssey is now the year's biggest live action opening. From the report and I quote movie fans across the country and around the world have been showing up to see the Odyssey in every conceivable format, demonstrating the great demand

of seeing grand scale entertainment like this on the big screen. This was said by Cinema United President and CEO Michael O'Leary and a statement. This is a big deal to recent disappointing opening weekends. Disney's live action Moana heavily promoted by the rock followed by the underperforming debuts for supergirl and minions and monsters. This is a huge deal because ever since COVID, there has been concern rightly so that the economics and the cultural demand for going

to see movies inside movie theaters was done. Steven Spielberg infamously publicly credited Tom Cruz for saving the actual movie going with Tom Dunn Maverick. I mean, this is great news. I'm dying to see this as discussed. I've told you guys I'm going to see it in an IMAX theater preferably one that shows it in 70 millimeter as Christopher Nolan contended. Now, I know that there has been discussion in the culture about the, what would I call the casting, the unusual casting I suppose,

you know, of characters like, you know, is it does it have fidelity to, first of all, it's a Greek

myth. You know, secondly, I don't understand this, this quote unquote controversy. I think it's

chinned up. I mean, listen, I am someone who went to art school. Like, I don't give a shit about this stuff about who you cast and anything. First of all, Denzel Washington, when he played, I believe he played McBeth. Like, it was electrifying. You know, have you seen Hamilton? If you've gone to see Hamilton, you go and it's like a mixed race cast and it's electrifying. I mean, when I saw Hamilton, I mean, I kind of went in pretty like not really knowing much about it, like willfully so.

And when I saw that cast take the stage, I was like, this is brilliant. What a brilliant, brilliant idea. So, you know, I just think art is art and it's supposed to push. And it's supposed to, like, you know, sort of challenge ideas. And, you know, I just, so that is ridiculous. To me, the real crime took place in the pages of GQ Magazine, which I purchased not long ago. And there are multiple covers. I got the Matt Damon one. It was the only one left, actually, because there aren't that many

places you can buy magazines anymore. Now, this is the real crime. This image was reprinted by people magazine. And I'm going to hold this up. I'm going to hold up the image of Matt Damon on the

Inside.

image from inside, which is on the right. And I would just like to say of the image of Matt on a

pedestal posing as if he is a high-fashion editorial model, impleted designer cargo pants. Well, they're not pleaded, excuse me. And what looks like a cashmere turtleneck shirt

with one hand on his left tip, listen, I get what they were going for here. But I think this

was ill advised. And as discussed, I like Matt Damon. I like him as an actor. He seems like a decent person. I'm just saying, like, this is ill-advised in off-brand. This is not the Matt Damon we know. The Matt Damon we know is kind of like a beer-swelling guy from Boston. It's that's the brand.

You know, I can get with this. This is brand adjacent. The other, not so much. Also, I was

interested to read, you know, I was thinking about this even before I had read it. Like, how it was the Christopher Nolan settled on Matt Damon as his Odysseus, because I don't think he seems obvious. You know, I think he's like five, ten tops. Again, he looks,

he looks Bostonian to me. He looks like a guy from Boston that he would like to see in a pub

or at a socks game. And apparently, Nolan had offered the role to Christian Bale turned it down reportedly, allegedly, Leonardo DiCaprio turned it down reportedly, allegedly. And weirdly, the actor that I thought of as possibly a great Odysseus. All right, all right, all right. I did think of Matthew McConaughey apparently, so to Christopher Nolan and apparently McConaughey turned it down. And you, if you think about it, all of it makes sense because

Bale and McConaughey especially have, have the height. And they also both have these kind of faces that could read, Bale definitely does. McConaughey's can read classically on screen.

Like, when you think of, you know, statues and sculptures from that era, the kind of planes in the

face that will read on screen as, as evoking like classical Greek looks, but Leonardo not so much, but all three have undergone extreme weight gains and losses for previous roles. And I would just bet their bodies can't take it and that they were over it. And so it's Matt Damon's and apparently he's getting the best reviews of his career and good for him and good for everybody involved and good for us because whether or not you have any interest in the Odyssey or whether or not you're

like that casting as Wolk Hollywood bullshit. It is a win because it means more adult moving is like this live action adult movies like this get made. It is a win, win, win. Now following up on our Howard Stern mini, which really, really landed with you guys. Again, we do this stuff with no idea. You know, we, we, we definitely know, we all know each other by now, but still, you know, I said to Marlena over the weekend that I was surprised at how many of you watched it and how

how widely it was circulated in a very short time span, like within the first 24 hours,

especially given that Howard Stern is largely an American figure. He's, he's most well known in America, but it really, really landed with you guys and we're very gratified by that. There were a few comments in the YouTube section or like on Instagram, or I was like, not towered. You know how I know because they were like very tert, rude comments about my looks. That's definitely how to get at me vanity. Like, come at my intelligence. That's like, you know,

I mean, I still, it's still wouldn't land with me. Like, I know I'm smart enough. But I was like, that's Howard. That's his juvenile bullshit. You're done. You've been flushed out of the culture. You fired staff in the most heartless manner over Zoom, over Zoom. The reports are, it was left to a middle manager to do, that Stern didn't even have the fucking balls, the spine, the biggest bully of the past several

decades, culturally, didn't have the nerve to tell his own staff, hey, it's been fun. But, you know, they're flushing me out and I got to keep my, like, apparently reportedly,

His contract is down to $20 million a year.

King's ransom, but like, down from $100 million, reportedly allegedly, you know that hurts him.

You know that hurts him. Now, page six had a report that I came across either last week. No,

it had, it was last week. And I, I read it in the physical paper. I failed to rip it out, my bad, because it looks like Stern and or his people possibly made a call over to the post and said, you know what, we disagree with that. We are going to say, that's not how that went down. And we want you to scrub it or push it, push it, push it all the way to like page 500 on a Google search.

That stuff happens. I can tell you reliably. That stuff happens. Because I don't know how else

I couldn't find very quickly this page six report from last week that claimed that Stern and his people had no idea allegedly reportedly why the staff was laid off on Monday would be so upset.

Because after all, the Stern showed did a secret round of layoffs back in February.

And it was, it was, this most recent round of fired staff was it's on them if they misinterpreted that secret round of February layoffs as not a warning sign, but proof that they were safe. If they interpreted that round of layoffs as the last in final, well, that's on them. They're the fucking stupid ones. I mean, if you haven't seen that many, I would encourage you to go watch it because not only do we talk about Howard's weird years long, power social obsession

with what I've had to say about him. And that's just imprint. This was long before the nerve

ever existed. I never understood it because I don't know him. I'm commenting him on him as a cultural figure.

We also had an amazing interview with a former staffer named Steve Grillo who talked in great length about the ways in which Howard humiliated his staffers and used them as fodder and content on his show and paid them nothing, nothing. Who the real Howard is? Mingai, mean, sad, guy, and cultural irrelevance will be the most painful of any fate that he could match. We tore our new inhabitants of the wood shed. Sunny Austin, welcome, Sunny. Welcome. You are

not going to be as comfortable in the wood shed as you are holding your nose in the air at your seat at the table at the view. You are not. That is by design. You are meant to be rehabilitated in the wood shed. Can that happen? We don't know. But we got more body cam footage. So, Sunny in case you're unfamiliar with Sunny Austin and the view. The view is a long-standing morning

chat show, in which five women of different generations and life experiences sit at the table

and discuss the issues of the day. Austin simply, the mental wattage is like, you know what I'm saying. And the UK had a version of it called loose women. I don't know if that show is still on

anymore. But Sunny loves to sit there. She's taken to, she's clearly on a GLP1 and that has definitely

like opt herself for guard, like insofarably. As she likes to sit there most often in like a very high pony. And her nose is often literally like in the air. As she's addressing, she and when she's speaking

to her co-host, she often never looks them in the eye. Like she won't. Imagine I have two people on

either side of me and one has said something and I'm responding to it. Imagine I just go like this the whole time and then I look down and then I look at the camera or at the audience, but I never engage with the conversation happening with me, which is the very premise of the show. Imagine the insufferability, the self regard, the sheer self regard. Now, Sunny, I'm going to set the table just a little bit more, is I call Sunny one of America's premier race hustlers. Okay, if Sunny

can make anything about race, she will make it about race. In Sunny's world, America's like the worst country on the planet. This, by the way, is a woman who by her own self report grew up in

poverty as the child of teenage parents in the projects I believe in the South Bronx.

And has made it to fame and fortune as a media star in America, just based on the meritocracy. But America is the fucking worst. And she also loves to say that no one is above the law. No one is above the law. Now, here's a little bit from the body camp footage. We begin. This is her son Gabriel, who's a 24-year-old man, 24-year-old man. This body camp footage was released on Friday, July 17th, and note what Sunny says here. Here we go. Tell them your mother is a federal prosecutor. Tell them

your mother is a federal prosecutor. Sunny is not. She is not a federal prosecutor. She is a former federal prosecutor and that matters because she is misrepresenting herself to police as an officer of the court, which by the way should have zero standing during this interaction with law enforcement. Zero fucking standing in America. It doesn't fucking matter who you are. If someone's breaking the law, if your spawn is breaking the law, he's breaking the law. He doesn't get out of breaking the law because

you, you're misrepresenting yourself. I am. Tell them she is. Here's a little, here's a little sunny on the view talking about how she regards the application of the law in the United States of America. Here we go. I mean, you can't commit so many crimes and think that you are above the law even if you are the president. Okay, that's it. That's right. And you notice in that clip, like she's doing exactly what I was describing. The nose in the air, the nose in the air,

you would think each of those women has a dedicated producer. Okay, whose job it is not just to brief them and, you know, prep them for any given day show or the next day show. But if you have a producer who is not only really good, but actually cares about you who you have a good relationship with. Like, if I was pulling something like that, Marlena would like grab me by the scruff of the

Neck and say stop doing that.

I think Sunny's producer might fucking hate her. I do. Back to the body cam footage,

the cops are cuffing Gabriel. This is an extremely calm, polite interaction and Gabriel says,

let's get my mom on the phone. Again, this is a H24 year old. Here we go. Just keep everything above board. I am going to write you what's holding a parent's ticket. Well, you do have to say it. He looks so smug. I'll explain all the details and why you're saying let's get my mom on the phone. Of course. Hey, mom. Hey, I'm so he said that I got my phone. Absolutely. Can we call it? Absolutely. It's normally, it's normally a mystery. It's a mystery. Obviously,

we're cutting it down to the violation because he listened. There's nothing on his record.

He's been very cooperative with us, but as of right now, we will have to issue him the appearance

ticket. Officer, is that pretty? This is a kid that doesn't do anything. He's a Harvard graduate

and a Yale researcher. He teaches geometry of physics and physics. I understand that it absolutely is necessary. See, okay. So on the phone, she says, is it necessary? This is a kid who's a Harvard graduate. I thought the law applied to everybody. He teaches geometry, redacted. I don't know why are the words to fourth graders in the south Bronx. Why that's redacted? I got no fucking idea. Unless it's to protect Sunny for trying to get her son out of this, what turns out to be a citation,

not in a rest, a citation by using on the backs of poor under-privileged children. Then Sunny arrives on the scene. She shows up. The officer, again, explains to Sunny that they are

giving her son a break as it is. Watch, watch, watch how indignant she is. If you are just listening

to this, I've got to employ you to watch it because this is who these people are. Her job is to be even to America's breakfast tables and living rooms every weekday morning and talk to people relate like just my opinion, right? Here's my opinion. Here's where I come from who I am. She refuses often to look this officer who is apologizing to her for enforcing the law and giving her kid a break. She won't even look at him in the fucking eye. Here we go. Hi Miss how are you? I'm off to go miss.

I apologize for this but you know it's like I explained to you. Normally it's a misdemeanor charge. We're done with the gun to a violation, okay? I know your upset. We just do it as a deterrence because again like I spent to you on on the phone besides being a legal which is far from the subject. It's looking away. I mean looking away. Can you give him a warning? I cannot at this point.

I have to recognize you. No, Sunny, third time she's not here. Usually in the seminar we're done

to a violation. So he's living in a hit by with the 140.05. It's not going to go in the record. She's here. Yes. Look at her face. She's here. Now I don't know if you could catch that but the officer says to Sunny, this is a citation. We're knocking it down. We're knocking this down from a misdemeanor to which it is to a citation which means this isn't going on his record. It's not going to affect his driver's license. It's as if it didn't happen. But we simply have to enforce the law

and Sunny instead of being fucking angry with her kid for trespassing and what's wrong with you and what are you doing over here by the train tracks with a bunch of porta potty's. What rich kid works out by the train tracks with the porta potty's. We're going to talk to Rob's shooter about it on the nerve at night. We got theories instead of being angry with her kid and being like, can you believe this? You know what she should have said? You know what? Officers

don't dumb it down for him. Give him the misdemeanor. Maybe he'll learn something. Maybe consequences will help him. But I'm going to guess Sunny was the kind of gentle parent who thought that her spawn could do no wrong. Okay. Another officer arrives on the scene and Sunny fucking tries it again. Here we go. Oh, it's like a party. We're introducing people tracks.

Looking along the tracks.

Multiple no trespassing signs.

I'm going to form a phone with me. I'm going to form a phone with me. Wasn't looking for anything to

murder. Who teaches for a great geometry to skin. I'm not a kid who's not a kid who's not a kid who's ever in trouble. He's not a kid. He's a grown fucking man. It's not that the world. I get you.

Okay. So this is a video copy. Okay. So basically

I love the framing of this in the body camera. Sunny. Far back in a loan. So for lords. It would be a personal family of north-of here in the little show. Not the end of the world. Not the crime of the century. He says to them, it's not the end of the world. It's not the crime of the century. He just says to show up in court. And then she wrote a letter to the DA asking the DA and not identifying herself as his mother

as his lawyer asking the DA to dismiss the citation. Listen. ABC News should address this because Sunny is their legal correspondent. The view is under the ABC News banner. Here she is on body cam video interfering in this arrest multiple times trying to get it knocked down. You know what

else got redacted in this little round of it? What we saw originally. I think we talked about it

on last week's nerve where she says this is the actual report. This one I ripped out from the New York post. This report was published Tuesday, July 14th. And remember I said the sources, the two sources, regarding this arrest. I called them cop one and cop two. They were just talking to the kid because he was trespassing, but his mother made it an issue. The source is said continuing. She said, open quote, I am Sunny Hasten. I am on the view. I'm on the view. Nay, release him immediately.

Now, we at the nerve are asking the question that oh, other mainstream news or entertainment media outlet is, which is why is it that Sunny Hasten's name has been redacted in body cam footage? Why? Why? She's a public person attempting to use her public influence, her fame, and her power, and her connections to get her kid completely cut loose from breaking the law. Breaking the law

is a minor citation, but he was breaking the law. Our first call was to the new or shell police department

on Monday morning, and they told team nerve that they would not be releasing that information, that they could not. And that quote, the conversation was over. So then we call back to new or shell PD and spoke to a different person who said that the redaction was quote unquote for privacy reasons. Again, our question is, how can there be privacy needed here when this is a public person and this body cam footage is like on TMZ? Marlena reached out a third time.

She followed up with the same person we spoke to at new or shell the second time.

Who then said, you know what? This is an hour case. This is no longer our case. I don't know what changed in like the five minutes between call two and call three. Now it's not their case. This is so typical, by the way, like this is so typical when the police want a stone wall you when they want a stone wall and media outlet. So newer shell than directed Marlena to the MTA PD, okay, the MTA which covers all of New York metropolitan transportation authority.

So Marlena went to the MTA. She called them. They told her, you know what you got to do?

Contact MTA HQ. This is what we call bureaucratic bullshit. MTA HQ. Marlena gets in touch with them. She says, they say to her, you know what you got to do? You got to put this request in writing. So she did. She put this request in writing. Very simple question. Why are you guys redacting the self identification of one sunny Austin of the view? She said it herself. I am on the

View.

to try to get her kid off from this like citation. She got an immediate response, immediate

response, and it reads as follows, "Hi Marlena, I'd refer you to the MTA foil office for information

on their policies." Now that the foil is an acronym if you're not in America or in journalism for a freedom of information letter slash access. Now the other thing to know about foiling or foia requests is, and I learned this when I was an investigative journalist at the New York Post, you can foil or foia the government or the cops or any agency for anything you want. They don't have to give you anything. Just because you foia for it and you're making a case that

it's in the public interest and right to know they can still do whatever the fuck they want.

I mean then you get into really like having to hire like a first amendment lawyer, which I mean

who's going to do that. So we saw Sunny throw that around three or four times. We have a little mash up of it. Here we go. How long is the federal prosecutor going? As if the cops didn't get it the first time that second part of that mash up that was the redacted part where she says, "I am Sunny Austin, I am on the

view." I think what's so telling about that too based on what that's the way the source one

in source two quote unquote the cops related to the New York Post is the lack of the contraction. Not I'm Sunny Austin high I'm so and so I'm on the view, like what it's like the self-important to the self-regard, right? Anyway, she says that as discussed all the time on the view, I am a former federal prosecutor. She says it all the time on the view. It's like she has a version of Tourette's and it reminds me of nothing so much there like okay there before Sunny's time,

there was a host on the view named Star Jones and Star Jones was such a character and she started off great and then she was ruined by many things, her own self-regard among them. But those things also included marrying a guy, making a huge spectacle of dating, getting engaged and marrying a guy, she brought this on to the show all the time, who was referred to on celebrity blogs, his name was Al Reynolds and on celebrity blogs he was known as Big Gay Al because everybody was like

this at the time Star was like this insufferable, not really like she sort of was struggling with her looks, you know and she like this guy came along and like swept her off her feet,

you know and then they got married and like this um like Stravaganza, I think they got married at

St. Bartholomew's which is a gorgeous church in Midtown Manhattan but it had all of the subtleties say a Taylor Swift corporate brand merger at Madison Square Garden of like an F1 race there were like sponsorships tacked everywhere at stars wedding and it was a real problem inside the walls of the view which is under the ABC news banner because it's like how could somebody representing ABC news be taking corporate sponsorships to pay for her wedding and she's already

got money that we're paying her, we're paying her like a million bucks at least a year.

Anyway, sunny is Star Jones walked so sunny Austin could run but Tracy Morgan used to impersonate Star Jones on the view on SNL all the time and as it progressed it just got funnier and campier but anyway this is a clip that we found of Joy Bay Har, Star and Sunny's colleague on the view introducing Tracy and setting up Tracy as star it's so good here we go. You have been a friend for a long time on the show. What is one of our favorite memories of

you is the hilarious impression of our form of you co-host Star Jones we have a clip let's watch the clip USA today it said that 30% of Americans think President Clinton should resign.

Star what do you make of this?

like for instance if we was looking at a pie one third of that pie we want the president to resign

and the rest of that pie would be delicious. That again that's Sunny can't see herself she cannot see herself in this as a former federal prosecutor we eagerly await hearing how this sort of

this thing has resolved itself because I believe Gabriel was doing court on July 10th and we've heard

nothing about that so the nerve will be looking into it okay finally us weekly added to the funeral pie of one time marquee entertainment outlets that are dying the nerve and the troublemakers

are moving the culture the nerve doing great we are continuing to grow faster than we ever

anticipated and us the us weeklies of the world are dying and they don't get it now this actually surprised me because there was no as far as I could see and I follow this stuff for pleasure and for professional reasons there there there was no like press release and I went and grabbed the weeks tabloids like at my local stop and shop a few days ago and I didn't even notice

like a change to the cover which I now I now do notice but for some reason I did read the

others note which I don't normally read to your reader beginning with this issue us weekly transitions to us magazine and moves to in every other week publication schedule we are retiring weekly from our logo and it's gone it's gone um what else the us you love isn't going anywhere we'll see about that we're simply making official what has already been true for years as the way we deliver entertainment has evolved beyond a weekly cadence what does that mean evolved beyond

a weekly cadence the nerve is four times a week and we're going to go up our name is evolving to reflecting a brand that now connects with you every day in real time this is some mega

marble word salad this next chapter allows us to create a more curated mega marble word

magazine experience featuring deeper storytelling exclusive interview what well okay this is a bunch of horses shit now um in April 2026 us weekly laid off nearly half of its staff this is a New York post headline uh in which they also note that they ditched their New York City office space excuse me which was located in Midtown Manhattan on 6th Avenue in that corridor that also these buildings are all clustered very closely together us weekly was right near uh like a block

or two up from 30 rock which is the host the home of SNL the today's show Jimmy Fallon Kelly Clarkson etc across the street the New York post next to the post series XM Howard Stern you know what I mean they gave up their office space because they couldn't afford it anymore obviously that report is a re-report of an original piece in the status newsletter I read from that piece celebrity magazine us weekly reportedly gutting nearly half of its workforce and abandoning its

New York headquarters as insiders warn the one time tabloids staple is in quote a dire situation

now they the management cited week first quarter performance as the driving force I don't think

it was just first quarter I don't they also this is what the C sweet doesn't get the C sweet flames digital media this is a quote from the status report as audiences migrated to social media for real time entertainment news advertisers followed draining revenue from legacy print outlets and leaving titles like us weekly struggling to adapt the business is totally shot one former magazine editor told status and there is a lack of effort to adapt for the digital space in a relevant way

close quote I take on bridge I take on bridge digital of course but that is the reflexive response of the year 2000 when the internet had really begun disrupting mainstream media and brilliant

Brilliant minds in media and commerce and business and tech they didn't even ...

internet would ultimately look like what they knew it would disrupt and in a big way but they did

not know how now it's not just digital it's not I mean here at the nerve again why are we working

and the likes of us weekly access e are not this is why we're telling the real story we are the real talk about fake people this shit this shit who who needs or wants this first of all look at this cover sorry this cover star is known to people who watch one or two episodes of sorry two shows on bravo that's it this is this woman's reach I don't know who she is she is a generic reality star face purchase just my supposition at the plastic surgeons office whatever plastic surgeon

you know excels in reality TV face look at her original face it's not the same inside is a

multi-page profile of said person like who gives a shit the questions asked of said person

generic madlips questions this is what us weekly has come to question what do you think you've

learned from everything you've been through two do you believe everything happens for a reason three have you had moments where you wanted off the show for any regrets here's their coverage inside tat Travis and Taylor's quote incredibly emotional wedding as covered on the nerve we all know it was a corporate brand merger that left a list guess such as Tom Brady and Jessica Alba so disgusted by the commerce and inauthenticity on display that they left early they heard the

words raffle and go compete at the ski ball stand for a ticket so you could win a Chanel bag and they got the f out of there that there were celebrities there far too many to count who are like why am I here I don't even know these people that people who are actually friends and family members of the happy couple were kept away from congratulating said happy couple by Taylor's quote unquote minions this is why you are dying get the fucking memo us weekly once upon a time was a must read

this is the kind of reporting that they used to do mainly under the editor in chief's Bonnie Fuller followed by the brilliant jannis men cover Brad and Angelina may 9th 2005

secret love trip the photos were actually published first on April 19th so they were adapting

to the digital age the photos hit the internet before the physical issue hit the news stand and this was an explosive cover because Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston the reporting that us weekly had was that Brad had gone to Jennifer they were separated living in separate homes

she I believe was still in the marital home that she and pit had shared Brad went over said hey

I'm taking off for about a week I'll see you when I get back kissed her on the cheek the next thing that happened and Jennifer spoke about this with vanity fair about a year later or Courtney Cox said it this is how they learned that Brad was in fact not only having an affair with Angie but that it was very serious and that he was an involved parental figure to her then only child her adopted to other matters these photos that wound up of Brad and Angie on a beach in Kenya in Kenya

playing happy family photos which and this all goes to the architecture of how this stuff gets pumped out and then they say it's none of your business people you regular unwashed pearls out there this is none of your business leave us alone and she reportedly allegedly had a photographer hidden on that beach that even Brad wasn't aware of she was going to get that out so she could move that marriage to the destruction pile so she could get Brad us weekly July 16,

2012 cover a lot of these we couldn't even find on us weekly's official website which tells you a lot a lot I know it's been sold I know it's changed hands but you would think for you know the pop cultural historical archive they would be housed somewhere where we could all find them how Katie Holmes escaped from Tom Cruise with daughter Ciri in the metaphorical dead of night the cover line enough Katie breaks free and this was a major story and it crosses over into news

Because Katie Holmes had to use burner phones, burner phones to quietly secre...

father who is a lawyer to get her and Ciri out from underneath Tom Cruise's control allegedly

reportedly so she could divorce him and successfully get custody of Ciri so that Ciri wouldn't be

raised in the Scientology cult very high stakes very high stakes we're talking our criminal acts

potentially involved here that's real reporting and finally our third example one of my favorites

from July 29th 2015 extra points trouble makers if you can guess who they're talking about in this headline he's dating the nanny from the us weekly report which claimed that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had in fact been quote secretly separated for months months before Ben was caught with the nanny who was caring for their then three young children us weekly went along with that version of the report though those of us in the media did not believe it for a second like Janet Ben had been

secretly separated I mean Jennifer Garner was holding onto that marriage by like white knuckles she was really she did not want to let him go quote the pair meaning Affleck and the nanny spent time together at Affleck's new LA area rental on July 17th and says the nanny's pal were in constant contact over text in email quote she says Ben really really likes her says the friend she's the nanny she's saying this is true love us weekly reported that a rep for Affleck told us quote

all allegations of a romantic relationship our baseless and untrue close quote the nanny could not be reached for comment and the nanny the resolution of this story had it was given a quote drop top

Lexi that she displayed on Instagram I believe the song she put to that photo of herself

in the new convertible was this girl is on fire by Katy Perry and whatever the title of that song is you know what I mean and she was also reportedly allegedly given a pay package to get the
